
James William “Jim” Correll, 88, passed away peacefully at the home he built 60 years ago for his family. Jim was born May 18, 1934 to Frank and Eva Correll south of Wallace in his grandparents’ house. Jim attended high school at UNSA in Curtis and graduated in 1951. While there he met Della Munger and they were married on August 24, 1953.
The couple’s first home was in North Platte. In March 1954, they moved to the Arch Leu Ranch north of Sutherland where Jim worked for five years. They moved to the Huffman Ranch in 1959 and two years later moved back to North Platte where he worked construction. Jim later owned and operated Correll Construction and built many homes. He retired at the age of 62.
Jim was very active with the Lincoln County Fair. He helped with numerous 4-H events and tractor pulls. After his retirement, he enjoyed fishing with his wife and grandkids. He also enjoyed working on the Old Time Hay Crew with Wes Steel. Jim looked forward to spring so he could plant his garden. The weeds did not stand a chance with him around.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eva Correll; brothers, Clarence, Ted, Rusty Correll; sister, Evelyn Daly; in-law’s, Ralph and Elise Munger; grandson, Rocky Sherman.
Survivors include his wife, Della; daughters, Connie (Don) Hansen, Sandy (Sheri) Correll; sons, Scott (Julie) Correll, Todd (fiancee’ Bridget Lange) Correll; grandchildren, Shannon (Steve) Ahlstron, Tony (Eugene) Terry, Tina (Casey) Golter, Shawna (Brad) Thomas, Karlee (David) Boyd, Evan (Alarie) Correll, Troy (Danielle) Correll, Ashlee Correll; 21 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren.

Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home with Pastor John Sexson officiating. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery near Tryon. Visitation will be held noon-7:00 P.M., with family present 5:00-7:00, Friday, July 22, 2022 at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
