
Clyde Frederick Lockwood passed away June 9, 2022. He was born to George and Isabelle (McIntyre) Lockwood on March 4, 1920, in Port Huron, MI. During WWII, he served in the US Army Air Corps from 1942-1946, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Clyde married Kathleen Terrell (deceased Mar 18, 1969) on Nov 6, 1943, in Oberlin, KS. On Oct 5, 1971, he married Mary Ann Jezl Greenwood in Oklahoma City, OK. He attended electronics schools in Louisville, KY, and Oklahoma City, OK, and was an electronics technician employed by the Federal Aviation Administration in North Platte, NE, from which he retired in 1981. For 42 years, he was a member of American Legion Post 163 in North Platte, NE, and was a member and past president of the local chapter of National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE).
In his free time, Clyde enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and woodworking. Over the years, he handcrafted many beautiful items which he gave to his children and grandchildren. Family, above all else, was most important to him, and everything he did was to provide for them. He was also a great friend to those who knew him – he welcomed all. His was a life well-lived in service to his family and others.
Clyde is survived by a large family: his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann of North Platte; daughters Carol Frye of Tucson, AZ, and Marcia Jones (Mike) of Riverton, UT; sons William Lockwood (Lucy Del Giorgio) of Tucson, AZ, and James Lockwood of Akron, CO; daughter-in-law Janet Lockwood of Mulkiteo, WA; step-daughters Constance Greenwood of Kirkland, WA, Mary Greenwood-Bell (Mark) of Parker, TX, and JoAnn Greenwood (Ray Jones) of Hewitt, TX; step-son Dr. John Greenwood (Nancy) of Lenexa, KS; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. He is preceded in death by several dear family members: his wife Kathleen; his son Gerald Lockwood of Mulkiteo, WA; his brothers Richard, Phillip, George, Robert, Dwight, and James; and his sisters Carol, Margaret, and Helen.
Memorial service Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
