After a projected high near 70 on Thursday in Lincoln County, the thermometer will nosedive to nearly 20 by Friday night, the National Weather Service in North Platte said.
There is a 20 percent chance of rain showers overnight Thursday, increasing to a 50 percent chance of a wintry mix through the day Friday.
The mercury will begin to rise over a sunny weekend, the NWS said, with high temperatures in the low- to mid-60s returning by Saturday.
