North Platte, Neb. - 4-H is America's largest youth development program across the United States that helps learn skills that will last a lifetime. The age requirement for 4-H is the ages of 8-18. There are many different categories that 4-H'ers can participate in during their time in the program including the home environment project.&nbsp;

Stefanie Sitourius, a local 4-H'r has been involved with 4-H for around 6 years. Last summer, she earned ribbons at the State Fair in Grand Island for her work on her sign and button flowers. Sitourius talks about how much time and work it takes to create her projects and how she can improve for this year's fair.&nbsp;

The event kicks off at 5:30 with a meet and greet with candidates and the forum begins at 6:30 pm. The event is free and takes place at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds Ag building.&nbsp;

The more than 150 motorcycle riders will be stopping for the night at the Holiday Inn Express in North Platte around 7pm and will setting up an area in the parking lot for fans to gather and meet and greet with many of the celebrity's making the trip.&nbsp;

Among the celebrities participating in the 2024 Ride are NASCAR Hall of Famers&nbsp;Richard Petty&nbsp;and&nbsp;Hershel McGriff; former NASCAR drivers&nbsp;Max Papis,&nbsp;David Ragan,&nbsp;Ken Schrader&nbsp;and&nbsp;Kenny Wallace; former NFL great and Heisman Trophy winner&nbsp;Herschel Walker; and TV personalities&nbsp;Rick Allen&nbsp;who is from Nebraska and&nbsp;Rutledge Wood.

The new agencies will be announced sometime next week. As the campaign year ends, the united way is around $169,000 out of the $200,000 goal and making a last push effort. &nbsp;

Folks can now donate monthly if they like or May 8th is Giving Day which the united way will be a part of. As details become available, Mid-Plains United Way is preparing to host an event in June called human tractor pull. The event will run during NebraskaLand Days.&nbsp;

North Platte, Neb. - Mid-Plains Community College (MPCC) North Platte location is hosting the Knights BBQ Cookoff on April 20th on the NPCC South Campus pavilion. Public activities will be available during the cookoff which are set to kick off at 4:00pm, 6:00pm is when the meal will be served and awards for the competition will take place at 7:30. Rascal Martinez, an alum of MPCC will be performing live music around 6:00pm.&nbsp;

MPCC numbers for the competition are low and are looking for anywhere from 5-15 teams to join the competition. If numbers remain low, the event will no longer have a competition but those in attendance will still receive a meal. North Platte, Neb. - The Prairie Arts Center (PAC) is gearing up with new events and classes for the month of April and beyond. The PAC is hosting a concert this Saturday as welcome Job, Peter and Chuck for a one night performance. The trio, which used to sing together is getting back together for the evening with their concert at the PAC called "You Can't Make Old Friends". 

The show is set to begin at 7:00pm and very few tickets remain, to purchase a ticket if still available, <a href="https://www.prairieartscenter.org/booking-calendar/you-can-t-make-old-friends-concert?referral=service_list_widget">click here</a>. The PAC is also will be hosting classes for adults and kids. Kid classes sign ups are on April 22nd.&nbsp;

The event starts at 5:00pm and the kids' race will start at 5:45pm. The run was created in honor of longtime Lincoln County CASA member Kevin Kennedy who passed away a few years ago. The Lincoln County CASA Kevin Kennedy Annual 5K and Kids Run (Fun Mile) on April 13th at Iron Horse Park, just south of the I-80 Entrance!

 The 5K kicks off at 5:00 PM, followed by the Kids Run starting at 5:45 PM. Get ready to dash through the scenic route and enjoy the thrill of the run!&nbsp;Don't forget to dress up as your favorite superhero, because there are prizes awaiting the best superhero costumes! Unleash your inner hero and stand out in the crowd.

 Register online by 5:00 PM on Friday the 12th or sign up on the day of the race. Whether you're a seasoned runner or a first-timer, everyone is welcome to participate!
