&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Harry James Hiles Stickelman, age 77, of North Platte, Nebraska,&nbsp; formerly of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died April 6, 2021 in North Platte with his family by his side. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He was born February 22, 1944 in Los Angeles, California, son of Marvin and Patricia (Hiles) Stickelman. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Harry lived a majority of his life on the Gothenburg Farm in Hiles Canyon. Harry attended school in Gothenburg and set many state records in track in high school. After graduating from Gothenburg High School, Harry enlisted in the National Guard where he was awarded medals for excellent marksmanship. He moved to Colorado to help build custom homes, he rounded up his own crew and they specialized in sheet rock. His boss said “Harry was the most intelligent person I have ever known.”&nbsp; Harry was called back to the Gothenburg/Brady farms to help his father.&nbsp; Along with farming, he worked at Gothenburg Feed Products/Healey Hay Mill at night loading hay into the dryers. He also worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad at Alliance, Nebraska.&nbsp; Harry and Anita also ran the Homestead restaurant in Gothenburg. In 2014, he moved to North Platte, Nebraska to be close to his children. He passed with his children close by, surrounded with love.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Along with older age, Harry started to have some health problems that were becoming painful for him.&nbsp; He never complained and was at peace and looked forward to laying in, "Sheol", waiting for Jesus’ return.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Harry enjoyed fishing &amp; hunting, trapping, flower gardening, playing cribbage and driving fast cars.&nbsp; He was an excellent pool player and enjoyed gambling, especially Texas Hold'em, keno, and the horse races. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Lenny Gail Matson, age 70, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at his home on April 5, 2021.&nbsp; He is in better hands now with God and has no more pain.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Lenny was born on February 6, 1951. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He worked in the restaurant industry, roofing, North Platte Sanitation, and factories before his disability and retirement at the age of 60.&nbsp; He also served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.&nbsp; He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, and watching TV. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Survivors include his sisters, Cheryl Clarkson, Ronda Morgan, and Cindy (Ken) Fischer; brothers, David Matson, Randy (Chris) Matson, and Robby Matson; and several nieces and nephews. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Lenny was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother, father, youngest sister, a nephew, and aunts &amp; uncles. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Cremation was chosen and burial will be held at a later date. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lenny Gail Matson  (1951-2021)

Georgia Ellen Pearson-Belville passed away at Pine View in Valentine, Nebraska on Sunday, April 4th, 2021 at the age of 91.

Georgia was born on November 14, 1929 in Woodlake, Nebraska to George and Mable Pearson. She attended school in the country school district throughout elementary and then moved on to Valentine Rural High School where she graduated at the age of 16. After a period of long walks and love letters, Lowell Wayne Belville and Georgia Ellen Pearson were married on September 14, 1947. In their 48 years of marriage they were blessed with three children Virginia, Cindy, and Wayne. In 1963, Georgia, Lowell, and their children moved from Valentine to the Pearson Ranch. Georgia loved the life of the ranch and would be considered a one of a kind ranch wife and mother. Georgia also worked in town for some time as a clinic nursing assistant. When not completing ranch work or helping others in town Georgia enjoyed being a part of the “Red Hat Lady’s,” “Brownlee Women’s Club,” the EMT crew, and belonged to the United Methodist Church.

More of us know Georgia by the name Jake or more often “Grandma Jake” given to her by the cute little neighbor boy just down the road. Grandma Jake’s house was full of 22 grand and great-grandkids throughout her time here.

Georgia was preceded in death by parents: George Pearson and Mable Pearson; sisters: Emogene Sullivan andShirley Vose; brother: Bill Pearson; Husband: Lowell Belville; and Grandchildren: Michael Elliott and Shawn Elliott.

Georgia is survived by children: Virginia Elliott (Ron), Cindy Yenglin (Elliot), Wayne Belville (Cathie). Grandchildren: Debra Long, Brooke Yenglin, April Yenglin, Bryce Yenglin, Christina Ballue (Alan), Nancy Wysocki (Brian). Great Grand-children: Sheyanne Long, Garrett Long, Makenzie Elliott, Shaylee Elliott, Laramie Elliott, Ty Elliott, Austin Yenglin, Alyssa Yenglin, Madison Yenglin, Mia Yenglin, Corvin Yenglin, Jordain Ballue, Grace Wysocki, and Adam Wysocki.

She will always be remembered as the heart and soul of our family.

Georgie Ellen Belville  (1929-2021)

Harry Eugene Hixson passed away on April 3, 2021 at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home in Imperial, Nebraska at the age of 86.&nbsp; He was born on January 8, 1935 at Jonesborough, Tennessee, the son of Sidney McCoy Hixson and Grace Evelyn (McCracken) Hixson.&nbsp; His mother passed away when he was born, and Harry was raised by his grandfather, AJ Hixson and aunt, Anna Lee Hixson, who he called mom.&nbsp;

He attended school in Jonesborough.&nbsp; Harry served in the Tennessee National Guard before joining the United States Air Force in 1954, he was honorably discharged in 1960.&nbsp; While in the Air Force, he met and married his wife, Barbara A. Jones.&nbsp; On October 4th, 2020, they celebrated their 65th&nbsp;wedding anniversary.

Harry owned and operated Hixson General Construction for 35 years.&nbsp; He was a member of the Methodist Church and the VFW.&nbsp; Harry loved to fish, hunt, and bowled for many years.&nbsp; He was an avid Husker and Denver Bronco fan.&nbsp; He also raised a large garden every year and loved his time spent at the trailer at Lake McConaughy in Ogallala, Nebraska.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepmom, Minnie; wife, Barbara; daughter, Catherin A. Myers; grandson, Angus Myers; brothers, Clarence Hixson, Howard Hixson, and Roy Hixson; sisters, Geneva Hixson and Jewell Hixson.

He is survived by his daughters, Debra Kay (Gerald) Maris of Culbertson, Nebraska, Peggy J. Savage of Omaha, Nebraska, and Linda L. Koetter of McCook; son-in-law, Arden Myers of McCook; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Loretta Kinley of Jonesborough, Tennessee; Margaret Manchey of Johnson City, Tennessee; Betty Daniels of Jonesborough, Tennessee; and Janice Hollard of Ashville, North Carolina; brothers, Kenneth Hixson of Chattanooga, Tennessee; Sidney Hixson of Unicoi, Tennessee; Tony Hixson Johnson City, Tennessee and numerous nieces and nephews.

Eugene Reinke, age 76, of Oshkosh, Nebraska passed away early Wednesday morning, March 31, 2021 at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. MST, Friday, April 16, 2021 at the Oshkosh Community Wesleyan Church in Oshkosh, Nebraska with Pastor Bruce Neal.&nbsp; Burial with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. CST at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.

Eugene “Gene” Donald Reinke was born on Sunday, October 29, 1944, in Deshler, NE, to Julius and Opal (Harms) Reinke, the second of their six children.&nbsp; He was baptized on November 19, 1944, and confirmed on March 22, 1959, at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Byron.&nbsp; He attended District 96 rural school through the 8th&nbsp;grade and graduated with the class of 1962 from Byron High School.&nbsp; Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve, completing his basic training at Fort Jackson, SC, and advanced training at Fort Polk, LA.

A teenager and young adult during the “muscle car” years, Gene enjoyed cars all his life, with current projects that included a ’55 Buick and a ’37 Chevy flatbed pickup. He was a teaser and a jokester and he loved to laugh. He enjoyed friendly debates on almost any topic, was compassionate to those less fortunate, and was always ready to help where needed.&nbsp; His strong, unshakeable Christian faith was central to his life and served as his guide in all he did. After completing studies at Charis Bible College in 2010, he took great pride and pleasure in pastoring in interim capacities at area churches, leading Bible studies, and teaching Sunday School. Career-wise, he farmed with his father for several years and was an over-the-road trucker for a time, but the majority of his work was dominated by carpentry:&nbsp; portrait framing at an Omaha art gallery, building cabinets and homes, and bridge and highway construction.&nbsp; It was a highway construction project that brought Gene to western Nebraska and to Oshkosh, a community he loved from his first visit and made his home during his final years on earth. He lived with diabetes most of his adult life and managed it quite successfully. Only in his last few days did complications develop that he could not overcome. On March 31, 2021, at the age of 76 years, he transitioned to his forever home in Heaven.

Gene is survived by his daughters Deborah and husband Kirk Huryta and their sons Keegan and Karson of Kearney, NE and Rebecca Reinke of McClelland, IA.&nbsp; Also left to cherish his memory, whom he loved as his own children, are Shasta (Patrick) Savoie of Omaha, NE, Stephanie (John) Howard of Lewisville, TX, Monte Fast Horse (Brandi Garrison) Reinke of Ponder, TX, and Megan (Sam Mills) Reinke of Atlantic, IA, and their children and grandchildren. Gene is also survived by siblings: brother Mark of Fort Collins, CO, sisters Joyce (Dennis) Schmidt of Deshler, NE, Beverly (Roger) Mathiesen of Kearney, NE, Janice Reinke of Tulsa, OK, and sister-in-law Mary Reinke of Dublin, CA, and their families, a large extended family, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Glenn, and niece Hali. May they rest in peace.

Eugene Donald "Gene" Reinke  (1944-2021)

Robert George Perrett was born March 31, 1927 in Hyannis, Nebraska to George and Ruth (Alsworth) Perrett.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; He was raised in the Hyannis area until he was 13, and then his family moved to a ranch south of Wood Lake, Nebraska.&nbsp; He told stories of the cattle drive from Hyannis to Wood Lake.&nbsp; They even had a chuck wagon on the drive.

His freshman year he attended school in Omaha and then transferred to school in Curtis, Nebraska.&nbsp; In his junior year at the age of 17 he joined the Unites States Navy.

Bob married Betty Jean Morehouse on June 1, 1948 at the United Methodist Church in Valentine, Nebraska.&nbsp; They were blessed with 4 children that were raised on the ranch south of Wood Lake.&nbsp;&nbsp; Bob and Betty were able to celebrate 73 years of marriage together.

Bob received his license to fly when he was 17 and it became his most loved hobby forever.&nbsp; After Bob and Betty retired from the ranch they spent 10 years full time motor homing across the United States.&nbsp; They spent the last 18 years between their home in Valentine and their home in Wood Lake.

Bob passed away at his home in Valentine, Nebraska on April 4, 2021.&nbsp; This was Easter Sunday and also his mothers birthday.&nbsp; 

He was preceded in death by parents George &amp; Ruth Perrett, son Robert George Perrett Jr, and grandson Robert George Perrett III.&nbsp;

He is survived by his wife, Betty, daughter, Jeannie Schelhaas, and son Richard Perrett;&nbsp; his grandchildren, Kim Allard, Sharee Maki, Jessica Bowser, Jacob Battershaw, Kandee Rainbolt, Angela Perrett, Lacey Mink, Jayme Long, Lexie Perrett, Cooper Perrett and brother; James Ocie Alsworth Perrett.&nbsp;&nbsp; Also surviving are 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and 1 niece; Suzanne Bussinger.

Richard A. Simants, Jr, age 64, of Palisade, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska.&nbsp;

Richard was born April 3, 1957 in San Diego, California to parents Richard A. and Elizabeth Ann (Wells) Simants, Sr.&nbsp; He was one of three children born to this union.

Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army.&nbsp; He was a member of the local VFW and his hobbies included fishing and camping.&nbsp;

Richard was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to celebrate his life include his siblings, Patty (Gary) Hanken of McCook, NE and Dan (Heather) Simants of Fairbanks, AK; nieces and nephews, Josh Simants, Dennis (Kristin) Decker Jr, Randy Decker, James (Renee) Baxter and Rebecca Baxter; great nieces and nephews, Trace Decker, Mia Decker, Khaliah Granillo, Elina Decker and Drew Baxter; uncle, Bob (Marlane) Wells; aunt, Carol Wurzer; and extended family members and friends.

Richard A. Simants, Jr.  (1957-2021)

Yvonne Sexson, age 94 of Grant, Nebraska passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Perkins County Community Hospital in Grant. Yvonne was born November 19, 1926 in Omaha, NE to Alva Juhl and Genie Fae (Aughe) Juhl, the oldest of two children. As a young girl, Yvonne went to live with her grandparents in northwest Kansas. She graduated from St. Francis High School with the class of 1943, and she earned her teaching certificate at Ft. Hays State College, and at age 16 was teaching school in western Kansas. On July 23, 1943, Yvonne married Clifford L. Sexson at New York City, NY, as Clifford was serving in the US Navy. Following his discharge in 1945, the couple made their home in St. Francis, Kansas, where they farmed. Yvonne and Clifford would be blessed with three children, Sherryl, David, and Milton. The couple resided in Boulder and Longmont in Colorado and South Dakota throughout the next twenty years, eventually moving to Broken Bow, Nebraska, where they operated an RV park for eighteen years. In 1998, the couple moved to Grant, Nebraska where they were closer to family, and made many wonderful friends. Yvonne was an avid quilter and reader. She was active in her church, particularly in the women's groups, and she enjoyed spending time volunteering. Yvonne's joy came from faith and family. Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Clifford; and her baby brother, William. She is survived by her children, Sherryl (Kenneth) Ketter of Kanorado, KS, David (Melanie) Sexson of Gordon, NE, and Milton (Laura) Sexson of Ogallala, NE; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Yvonne Sexson  (1926-2021)

Wayne Eugene Lutz of Benkelman, Nebraska passed away peacefully on April 5, 2021, at the Dundy County Hospital at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 21 days, after experiencing a year of declining health. Wayne was born in Benkelman on December 15, 1944, to Alfred George and Joanna Fay (Osborn) Lutz. The oldest of four sons, Wayne began his education in a one-room school, District 37, close to the family farm and was the only member of his graduating 8th grade class. He then attended Benkelman High School and graduated with the Class of 1963. Wayne began helping on the family farm at an early age. He developed a strong work ethic that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. After graduating high school, Wayne was drafted into the United States Army and attended his basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He attained the rank of Sergeant. He served his country in Europe where he had many duties. He was a tank commander, truck driver, sharp shooter, and office clerk. Wayne was honorably discharged in 1967. At that time, he was able to continue his love of farming back in Dundy County, Nebraska. After returning to Dundy County, he was joined in marriage to the love of his life, Gayle Jeane Blank, on March 15, 1969, in Parks, Nebraska.&nbsp; Wayne and Gayle’s marriage was built on selfless love and dedication to each other and a model for their family to cherish. Pastor Gleason recently renewed their vows in the presence of all their children and grandchildren. Wayne and Gayle were blessed with two children, Anita Christine and Michael Wayne. Wayne and Gayle enjoyed watching their children and grandchildren grow up. They enjoyed watching their kids and grandkids grow up and especially enjoyed watching their personalities develop. You could always bring a smile to Wayne’s face when talking about his grandkids. Wayne was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council. He was also member of the Southwest Public Power District, Dundy County School Board, Benkelman/ Bird City Coop Board, Benkelman Cemetery Board, and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Fay Lutz, Gayle’s parents, Dudley and Elaine Blank.  </figure>Wayne Eugene Lutz of Benkelman, Nebraska passed away peacefully on April 5, 2021, at the Dundy County Hospital at the age of 76 years, 3 months and 21 days, after experiencing a year of declining health. Wayne was born in Benkelman on December 15, 1944, to Alfred George and Joanna Fay (Osborn) Lutz. The oldest of four sons, Wayne began his education in a one-room school, District 37, close to the family farm and was the only member of his graduating 8th grade class. He then attended Benkelman High School and graduated with the Class of 1963. Wayne began helping on the family farm at an early age. He developed a strong work ethic that he passed on to his children and grandchildren. After graduating high school, Wayne was drafted into the United States Army and attended his basic training in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He attained the rank of Sergeant. He served his country in Europe where he had many duties. He was a tank commander, truck driver, sharp shooter, and office clerk. Wayne was honorably discharged in 1967. At that time, he was able to continue his love of farming back in Dundy County, Nebraska. After returning to Dundy County, he was joined in marriage to the love of his life, Gayle Jeane Blank, on March 15, 1969, in Parks, Nebraska.&nbsp; Wayne and Gayle’s marriage was built on selfless love and dedication to each other and a model for their family to cherish. Pastor Gleason recently renewed their vows in the presence of all their children and grandchildren. Wayne and Gayle were blessed with two children, Anita Christine and Michael Wayne. Wayne and Gayle enjoyed watching their children and grandchildren grow up. They enjoyed watching their kids and grandkids grow up and especially enjoyed watching their personalities develop. You could always bring a smile to Wayne’s face when talking about his grandkids. Wayne was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council. He was also member of the Southwest Public Power District, Dundy County School Board, Benkelman/ Bird City Coop Board, Benkelman Cemetery Board, and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Fay Lutz, Gayle’s parents, Dudley and Elaine Blank. Wayne Eugene Lutz  (1944-2021)

Eileen Shirley, age 86, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at Great Plains&nbsp;Health on April 5, 2021. Eileen was born March 31, 1935, to Harold and Dorothea (Loghry) Dodson on the family farm near Maywood, Nebraska.&nbsp; She grew up in the Maywood area and&nbsp;graduated from high school, the Nebraska School of Agriculture in&nbsp;Curtis, in 1952. On August 9, 1953, Eileen married Vernon Manley 'Sonny' Shirley at Curtis, Nebraska and they lived on the farm south of town and farmed until 1962&nbsp;when they moved into Curtis. They had four children, Kent, Douglas,&nbsp;Denise and Deanna, and when Denise was baptized they too were baptized&nbsp;into the Methodist Church at Curtis. Sonny and Eileen were together for&nbsp;nearly 64 years when he died in 2017. In 1967, the Shirley family moved to North Platte, Nebraska and Eileen went to work&nbsp;for the North Platte Public Schools in the cafeteria. She became the&nbsp;manager at Madison Junior High and the north side elementary grade&nbsp;schools, after 17 years as manager and 22 years in the system, Eileen&nbsp;retired in the early '80's. Eileen used to do lots of gardening and canning when they lived on Shirley Road.&nbsp; She loved baking and decorating cakes for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and other occasions then enjoyed delivering them. Sonny and Eileen loved being together, dancing, camping and fishing, and&nbsp;she could out-fish Sonny any day.&nbsp; They were active, longtime members of&nbsp;the Elks Lodge #985, Winter Dance Club, and First United Methodist&nbsp;Church and volunteered for R.S.V.P.&nbsp; Eileen was also a member of Does&nbsp;Drove #103, where she served as chaplain for a few years, and AARP. Along with her husband, Eileen was preceded in death by their son, Doug; her sister, Phyllis and husband, Bud Mayfield; brother, Duane Dodson; sons-in-law, Chris Nelsen and Russell Smiley; and her parents, Harold and Dorothea Dodson. Patrick Francis Loop, age 57, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away March 29, 2021, at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln, Nebraska. Pat was born February 11, 1964, in Imperial, Nebraska to Leo Joe and Mary Aidyl (Stohler) Loop. Pat attended school in Holyoke, Colorado through the 5th grade and at Lamar, Nebraska through the 8th grade. He attended high school at Imperial before graduating from Paxton Consolidated High School in 1983. Pat had worked for many years in farming and ranching, eventually transitioning to trucking. He enjoyed his time in the truck and logged countless miles. Lyndon Johnson said that "Peace is the journey of a thousand miles, and it must be taken one step at a time." The final jaunt of his journey was on Monday; it is comforting to know that Patrick has found his peace. Pat was preceded in death by his father Leo; brother, Andy; and his grandparents, George (Bessie) Stohler and Earl (Mable) Loop. Richard R. Munson  (1946-2020)

Donald LeRoy Nunnenkamp, age 84 of North Platte, NE peacefully passed away on March 24, 2021 surrounded by loved ones after a difficult battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on February 24, 1937 to LeRoy Charles and Pauline Ruby (Conley) Nunnenkamp in the city of Sacramento, CA.

He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1955 and went to work for Union Pacific Railroad. Donald worked for UPRR for 44 years retiring in 1999. Working many jobs though the years ending as brakeman/conductor. He served in the National Guard.

In 1960 Donald married Geraldine (Geri) C. Hassett to that union they have 5 children: Robyn Wright, Donna Meyer, Shannon (Ramon) Garcilazo, Michelle Miles, Joel (Keri) Nunnenkamp. Don was like a grandfather to his children’s youngest brother, Aaron Nunnenkamp.

In 1979, Donald married Irene Contos, and&nbsp; to this union Irene brought 6 children, Bobby Jo Nicholson, LeeAnn Gordon, Kathy Salazar, Judy (Tom) Rambo, Kevin (Heather) Williams, Jason (Laurie Richman) Contos. Donald helped raise the two youngest boys. And he had a special bond with the youngest Jason, he was Jason’s dad.

One of his many projects was digging out a basement under his childhood home with his dad, by hand.&nbsp;&nbsp;Don loved to garden and grew the best tomatoes, much to his children’s dismay he taught them how to weed and harvest the garden. The family enjoyed many special times at Cody Park.&nbsp; Don loved nature and enjoyed traveling to see his children and grandchildren.

He enjoyed the game of pool and could be found at the Eagles Club in the afternoons. On Burger Nights, he took the opportunity to teach his sons, Joel and Jason, how to play pool.&nbsp; He was an avid Husker fan, watching the games at the Eagle's or Brother's.&nbsp; He was called Nooner by his friends and Smoking Joe by fellow coworkers.&nbsp; On Friday Afternoons, he would meet up with a dear friend, Don Tuma, for beers and keno.&nbsp; Joel and Robyn always made it possible to take dad to Fonner Park to enjoy the ponies.&nbsp; Don was surprised with an 80th Birthday Celebration at Fonner Park, which he enjoyed tremendously.

Don was proceeded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Pauline Nunnenkamp, sister and brother in law; Joy and Ron Berck; grandparents, John and Lena Conley and Fredrick and Luella Nunnenkamp; daughters, Michelle Miles and LeeAnn Gordon; grandsons, Ryan Meyer and Brandon Salazar ; granddaughter, Jessica Rambo; great granddaughter, Kiana Meyer and great grandson, Braxton Meyer.

He is survived by his daughters, Robyn Wright, Donna Meyer, Shannon (Ramon) Garcilazo, Kathy Salazar, and Judy (Thom) Rambo; Sons, Joel (Keri) Nunnenkamp, Jason (Laurie Richman) Contos, Kevin (Heather) Williams and Bobby Jo Nicholson; 30 grandchildren, and 44 great grandchildren; and many more that called him Grandpa or Papa Don.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island, NE with Pastor Daniel Bremer officiating. The family enjoyed many special times at Cody Park.&nbsp; Don loved nature and enjoyed traveling to see his children and grandchildren.He enjoyed the game of pool and could be found at the Eagles Club in the afternoons. On Burger Nights, he took the opportunity to teach his sons, Joel and Jason, how to play pool.&nbsp; He was an avid Husker fan, watching the games at the Eagle's or Brother's.&nbsp; He was called Nooner by his friends and Smoking Joe by fellow coworkers.&nbsp; On Friday Afternoons, he would meet up with a dear friend, Don Tuma, for beers and keno.&nbsp; Joel and Robyn always made it possible to take dad to Fonner Park to enjoy the ponies.&nbsp; Don was surprised with an 80th Birthday Celebration at Fonner Park, which he enjoyed tremendously.Don was proceeded in death by his parents, LeRoy and Pauline Nunnenkamp, sister and brother in law; Joy and Ron Berck; grandparents, John and Lena Conley and Fredrick and Luella Nunnenkamp; daughters, Michelle Miles and LeeAnn Gordon; grandsons, Ryan Meyer and Brandon Salazar ; granddaughter, Jessica Rambo; great granddaughter, Kiana Meyer and great grandson, Braxton Meyer.He is survived by his daughters, Robyn Wright, Donna Meyer, Shannon (Ramon) Garcilazo, Kathy Salazar, and Judy (Thom) Rambo; Sons, Joel (Keri) Nunnenkamp, Jason (Laurie Richman) Contos, Kevin (Heather) Williams and Bobby Jo Nicholson; 30 grandchildren, and 44 great grandchildren; and many more that called him Grandpa or Papa Don.Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Grand Island, NE with Pastor Daniel Bremer officiating. Donald LeRoy Nunnenkamp  (1937-2021)

Truman Lee Coffman, 74, of Oakley, died Sunday, April 4, 2021, in Hays, 
KS. He was born January 12, 1947, in Sullivan County, MO, to Willie and 
Bertha (Woody) Coffman. 

After graduating high school, Truman joined the 
United States Navy. He served on the USS Lexington, in the Gulf of 
Mexico, for four years. After leaving the Navy, Truman did construction 
work and started driving truck, which took him to North Platte, NE, 
where he met Yvette Lunkwitz-Humphrey. They decided to elope and on May 
10, 1975, were married in Sallisaw, OK. They relocated to Missouri, 
where Truman managed a farm and then moved to Kansas, where he worked 
for Abercrombie Oil Service. The family took up residence, in Oakley, 
KS, where they lived for over 40 years. Truman was the night shift 
foreman at Mitten’s, in Oakley, KS for over 15 years before purchasing 
his own truck and starting Coffman Trucking. He retired in 2018, after 
15 years of trucking. Truman enjoyed watching NASCAR and his favorite 
driver, Jimmy Johnson. He also enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis 
Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. In his younger days, he 
coached American Legion Baseball and played co-ed softball. Truman spent
 his free time fishing, hunting, gardening, attending auctions and 
appreciating old cars. He loved any time spent with his family, 
especially his grandkids. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother and 3 sisters. 
He’s survived by his wife Yvette, children, Truman Michael (Jennifer) 
Coffman, Danette (Anthony) Repshire, Kaara Coffman and Shannon Herl; 
grandchildren, Braylan Fields, Deagon, Deighton and Kaelynn Herl and 
Kasira, Corbin and Kelton Repshire; siblings, Spencer Coffman, Carol 
(Keith) Blecha and Jesse Coffman (Robert Ridley) and many nieces and 
nephews. 
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Baalmann 
Mortuary, Oakley. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. 
Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the Mortuary. Burial will take place in

Ula Marie Holt, age 94 of Broken Bow, NE passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the Brookestone View in Broken Bow, NE.

Memorial services will be Friday, April 9, 2021 at 10:30 am at the Evangelical Free Church in Broken Bow with Pastor Tim Peterson officiating. Ula was born to Herschell and Stella Mae (Hammons) Martin on April 19, 1926 at a farm home in Gibbon, NE.&nbsp; They lived in Nebraska for approximately 2 years, moving to Torrington, WY where they worked in the Sugar Beet fields.&nbsp; Stella died May 8th, 1934.&nbsp; Ula was brought back to Nebraska 2 weeks later to live with her mother’s sister, Mary Ann (Annie) Pendleton and her husband Ed.

Ula Marie was united in marriage to Virgil Holt on April 4, 1945 in Denver, CO. They lived south of Arnold in Lincoln County, NE in a Sod house.&nbsp; They were parents to three sons, Raymond, Ronald Virgil and William.&nbsp; Farm life was not friendly to Virgil causing allergies. They moved into Arnold in 1954.&nbsp; Throughout their lives they were involved in Cub Scouts and 4-H with their sons. Ula developed a knack of decorating cakes.&nbsp; She baked and decorated countless Wedding and Birthday cakes throughout the years. Many a funny story were told of the mishaps occurring during the delivery of those cakes and setting them up. 

Virgil went to be with the Lord on December 31, 1972.&nbsp; 

Ula Held many jobs after Virgil’s death, she was employed by the Connor family caring for their 2 children Marcia and Brad and the local bakery.&nbsp; She was also a cook at the Model Café.&nbsp; She was truly the best “Chicken Fryer” around.&nbsp; She began working at BD in Broken Bow and was employed for 14 ½ years retiring in 1981.&nbsp; She held numerous small jobs around Broken Bow to occupy time after retiring.&nbsp;

Ula accepted the Lord and was a member of the Baptist Church in Arnold until moving to Broken Bow.&nbsp; She became a member of the E-Free Church there.&nbsp; She was an active Sunday School teacher at both churches. She was proud of her relationship with God.

Throughout her life she enjoyed the company of many 4-legged friends and was happy when they occupied her lap.&nbsp; Crocheting and knitting took up a lot of her time as she sat watching TV.&nbsp; Her Daily Devotions and Bible Verses were the beginning of her day followed by a crossword puzzle.&nbsp; She remained active in these activities until the last few years of her life as her ability to stay focused wandered.&nbsp; She resided at Off Broadway in Broken Bow and spent many hours in the gazebo watching and listening to birds.&nbsp; She moved to Brookstone View after a fall.&nbsp; She loved her time there and truly enjoyed giving the staff a hard time. She continued to love her birds and a feeder was always present outside her window.&nbsp; Her smile and laugh will be missed by many.

She enjoyed the visits from her family.&nbsp; She loved her grandchildren and had the opportunity to become a Great-Great Grandmother.&nbsp;

Ula is survived by her 3 sons, Raymond (Karen) Holt, Virgil (Jeri) Holt and Bill (Sheryl) Holt; 9 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; and Marcia (Connor) Hill &amp; Brad Connor who were very dear to her; and many other family and friends.&nbsp;

Irvin L. Williams, age 86, of Gothenburg, Nebraska died April 5, 2021 at Gothenburg Health, Gothenburg.&nbsp;

Irv was born August 12, 1934 in Arnold, Nebraska, son of Earl and Helen (Simms)Williams.&nbsp; He grew up in Arnold and attended school in Arnold until the 11th grade.&nbsp; Before his senior year Irv moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma to live with his brother Fred and graduate high school.&nbsp; He served his country in the US Army from 1955 to 1957.&nbsp; Irv married Janet Kay Dillmon in Gothenburg on November 18, 1960 to which two children were born, Troy and Amy. In 1972 the family&nbsp; moved to Gothenburg where Irv started work for Farmland Service Co-op, which he did for over 30 years. Irv loved his family and never knew a stranger.&nbsp; He was a devoted Christian and spent each day reading the bible until his Dementia took away that ability.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Janet Williams of Gothenburg, NE; son Troy (Stacy) Williams of Eagle, CO; daughter, Amy (Phillip) Rimpley of North Platte, NE; two grandsons, Jacob (Kacee) Rimpley and Justin (Eva) Rimpley; and sister Doris Nelson of Gothenburg, NE.

Irvin was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen Williams, brother Fred and brother-in-law Raymond Nelson.

Irvin L. Williams  (1934-2021)

Douglas A. Fastenau of Sutherland, Nebraska died unexpectedly on Friday, April&nbsp;2, 2021, at the age of 68. Doug was born in Sidney, Nebraska to Adolf and Ruth (Miller) Fastenau on August&nbsp;14, 1952, and grew up in Gurley, Nebraska.&nbsp; After graduating from Gurley High&nbsp;School in 1970, Doug attended Chadron State College where he also&nbsp;competed on the track and field team, doing long jump and triple jump. He earned his B.A. Degree in Education then began his teaching and coaching career at Wilsonville High School.&nbsp; Doug went on to teach and coach at Nemaha Valley in Cook then taught and coached in Sutherland.&nbsp; He also taught Drivers Ed in Sutherland and many surrounding communities.&nbsp; Doug earned his Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling&nbsp;in 1989 and was a K-12 Guidance Counselor, teacher and coach at Wallace&nbsp;until retiring in 2008. On January 25, 1975, Doug wed Christine Husmann in Sidney.&nbsp; They had two&nbsp;children, Sara and Kyle, and eventually made their home in Sutherland&nbsp;where they have been members of Grace Lutheran Church for nearly 40 years. Doug was an active, healthy person. He loved to watch and participate in all sports, especially those his kids and grandkids were involved in and made every effort to be at all of their events and activities.&nbsp; He refereed for 25 years and drove the bus for Mid-Plains girl's basketball and Sutherland and Wallace schools.&nbsp; Doug loved golfing and spent several days a week at Oregon Trail Golf Course in Sutherland.&nbsp; He also enjoyed camping and skiing, both in water or snow, and could be seen around town walking his dogs or bike riding with Chris.&nbsp; Doug enjoyed biking so much that he would go along with Kyle on the BRAN (Bike Ride Across Nebraska). What was most important to Doug was his family.&nbsp;&nbsp; He especially loved his grandkids and couldn't go longer than three weeks without seeing them, they were truly the loves of his life. Doug will be missed so much. He leaves behind his wife, Chris, of Sutherland, NE; children, Sara (Brady)&nbsp;O'Hare of Kearney, NE and Kyle Fastenau of Milford, NE; grandkids, Carsyn,&nbsp;Garrett, Rylie, Kendyl and Peyton O'Hare; mother-in-law, Myrna Hallsted of North Platte, NE; sisters-in-law, Mickey (Doug) Shepherd, of Winfield,&nbsp;KS, and Kellie (Tom) Blickenstaff, of Sun Lakes, AZ; and many other&nbsp;family members. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Adolf and Ruth Fastenau; brother, Terry Fastenau; sister, Carol Hanneman; and father-in-law, Paul&nbsp;Husmann. He earned his B.A. Degree in Education then began his teaching and coaching career at Wilsonville High School.&nbsp; Doug went on to teach and coach at Nemaha Valley in Cook then taught and coached in Sutherland.&nbsp; He also taught Drivers Ed in Sutherland and many surrounding communities.&nbsp; Doug earned his Masters Degree in Guidance and Counseling&nbsp;in 1989 and was a K-12 Guidance Counselor, teacher and coach at Wallace&nbsp;until retiring in 2008. On January 25, 1975, Doug wed Christine Husmann in Sidney.&nbsp; They had two&nbsp;children, Sara and Kyle, and eventually made their home in Sutherland&nbsp;where they have been members of Grace Lutheran Church for nearly 40 years. Doug was an active, healthy person. He loved to watch and participate in all sports, especially those his kids and grandkids were involved in and made every effort to be at all of their events and activities.&nbsp; He refereed for 25 years and drove the bus for Mid-Plains girl's basketball and Sutherland and Wallace schools.&nbsp; Doug loved golfing and spent several days a week at Oregon Trail Golf Course in Sutherland.&nbsp; He also enjoyed camping and skiing, both in water or snow, and could be seen around town walking his dogs or bike riding with Chris.&nbsp; Doug enjoyed biking so much that he would go along with Kyle on the BRAN (Bike Ride Across Nebraska). What was most important to Doug was his family.&nbsp;&nbsp; He especially loved his grandkids and couldn't go longer than three weeks without seeing them, they were truly the loves of his life. Doug will be missed so much. He leaves behind his wife, Chris, of Sutherland, NE; children, Sara (Brady)&nbsp;O'Hare of Kearney, NE and Kyle Fastenau of Milford, NE; grandkids, Carsyn,&nbsp;Garrett, Rylie, Kendyl and Peyton O'Hare; mother-in-law, Myrna Hallsted of North Platte, NE; sisters-in-law, Mickey (Doug) Shepherd, of Winfield,&nbsp;KS, and Kellie (Tom) Blickenstaff, of Sun Lakes, AZ; and many other&nbsp;family members. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, Adolf and Ruth Fastenau; brother, Terry Fastenau; sister, Carol Hanneman; and father-in-law, Paul&nbsp;Husmann. Cremation was chosen.&nbsp; Memorial service will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Grace Lutheran Church in Sutherland, NE.&nbsp; Inurnment will&nbsp;follow in the Riverview Cemetery. Douglas A. Fastenau  (1952-2021)

God brought Martin Harmon into this world March 21, 1932, at the family home of George and Marietta (Munson) Harmon, twelve miles southwest of Champion, Nebraska.&nbsp; Martin completed grade school in country schools and graduated at Chase County High School in 1950. Martin enlisted into the U.S. Air Force in April of 1952. Following instructions from military chaplains and the evangelistic preaching of a Baptist pastor at Wichita Falls, Texas, he very thankfully accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior with sincere repentance of sins and complete trust in Jesus for eternal life in heaven. His life was completely changed. He then prayed to God much concerning his sweetheart and thus he married Delsa Montgomery on July 23, 1953. Their son David was born February 20, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas. Martin was discharged in April of 1956 and returned to farming. Upon accepting the call of God to the ministry, he attended Western Bible Institute of Denver, Colorado in the fall of 1960 and graduated in the spring of 1963. For the next 23 years he pastured growing congregations in independent churches in Nebraska, California and Wyoming. Upon completing his ministry he returned to Imperial, Nebraska where he greatly enjoyed being with his family circle and grandchildren. He and Delsa took their two grandchildren on many camping trips, which was a source of great joy. Martin also worked part time with his son in the tree removal business. He spoke often in local churches that needed temporary pulpit supply, and for many years held Sunday morning services for the Imperial nursing home. On April 1, 2021, Martin went home to heaven to be forever with God. He was 89 years of age. Martin was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Delsa; brothers Levi and Harold; brother-in-law Elwin Morse; sisters-in-law Mary and Alice Harmon; and nephew Arlyn Morse. Survivors include his son, Dave Harmon and wife, Deb, of Imperial, NE; grandson: Brett Harmon and wife, Cynthia, of Imperial, NE;&nbsp;granddaughter: Jasey Geary and husband, Josh, of Imperial, NE; 5 great-grandchildren: Trey, Carter, Jett, Adrin and Andrea;&nbsp;brother, Robert Harmon of Imperial, NE; and sister, Gerietta Morse of Imperial, NE. Martin J. Harmon  (1932-2021)

Harold “Hal” Hawthorne, age 87, of Cozad, Nebraska passed away January 13, 2021 at Emerald Nursing and Rehab in Cozad.&nbsp; Harold was born October 6, 1933 in Holbrook, NE to Clarissa (Clarke) and Elmer Hawthorne.&nbsp; Harold graduated from Cozad High School in 1952, where he played football and tuba in the high school band.

Harold was a tree trimmer, but for many years, Harold’s career was as a salesman where he worked for Bay Electronics, Finco Corporation and Tandy Corporation.&nbsp; In 1989 he completed training in the Ingham Method of Reflexology.&nbsp; He practiced reflexology for 30 years and helped many people to better health.

For many years he was a member of the Elks Lodge.&nbsp; He was also a member of the American Lutheran Church, where he served as a deacon.

Harold is survived by his sister Betty and her husband, Ray McKenney, of Holbrook, NE; his son, Phillip Hawthorne of Mesa, AZ; two daughters, Cynthia and husband Dave Monyhan of Winona, MN and Beverly Pelerine of Riverside, CA; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Cozad Elks Lodge.

Harold Henry Hawthorne  (1933-2021)

Raymond Virgil Kampfe, age 95, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at Linden&nbsp;Court on April 3, 2021. Raymond was born to Arthur and Almina Kampfe on June 3, 1925, at Gothenburg, Nebraska, where he grew up.&nbsp; He graduated from Gothenburg High School&nbsp;in 1942 then started his career in farming and ranching. On September 19, 1954, Raymond married Betty Jean Mahan Plank in Gothenburg and they made their home on the Kampfe family farm northeast&nbsp;of town.&nbsp; Raymond was engaged in agriculture until moving to North&nbsp;Platte, Nebraska in 1990.&nbsp; He then became a member of the Elks Club, Moose and&nbsp;Eagles and was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. After retiring, Raymond and Betty looked forward to spending time in Arizona.&nbsp; They also belonged to Winter Dance Club and Rock N' Roll Dance&nbsp;and enjoyed the company of their many special friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; parents, Arthur and Almina; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev. Marvin and Helen Kampfe, Reuben and Dorothea Kampfe, Rev. LaVern and Doris Kampfe and Roger Kampfe; and brother-in-law, Curtis Wuest. &nbsp;Timothy Jon McConnell, age 52, of North Platte, Nebraska died at home on March 27,&nbsp;2021. Tim was born at Hermiston, Oregon to Ronald and Dian McConnell on October&nbsp;10, 1968, and grew up in Lexington, Nebraska.&nbsp; Following his graduation from&nbsp;Lexington High School, Tim attended the Law Enforcement Academy in Grand&nbsp;Island, Nebraska.&nbsp; He worked in law enforcement for 15 years, with the last 5 as Sheriff in McPherson County, Nebraska, until his health declined.&nbsp; Tim was a&nbsp;member of the Sheriff's Association. On May 26, 1990, he wed Deborah Hakenkamp in North Platte, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Dian; and brothers, Kelly and Michael McConnell. Timothy Jon McConnell  (1968-2021)

Steven L. Kruse of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on March 27, 2021. Steve was born January 6, 1946 in Brooklyn, New York to Percy M. Kruse and Frances (Molyneaux) Kruse. His family moved to Grand Island, Nebraska shortly after Steve was born. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1964. He was a member of the Nebraska National Guard and served in Vietnam. After he returned home, he graduated from Kearney State College in 1971. He was honorably discharged in 1972.

He was united in marriage to Nancy M. (Ward) Kruse on April 26, 1968 in Grand Island, Nebraska where their son Brian was born. The family moved to Columbus, Nebraska after Steve found work as a manager with Lindsay Manufacturing Co. While living in Columbus, their daughter Kerri was born. In 1978 the family moved to North Platte, Nebraska and Steve began working for the Union Pacific Railroad, first in the yards, then as a brakeman, and ultimately as a conductor. He retired in August 2007.

Steve loved spending time with his family. He also loved the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, and camping. In his retirement he and Nancy loved vacationing together at the beach and watching their grandchildren’s sporting events.

Steve is survived by his wife, Nancy; his son, Brian Kruse and his wife, Mindy of Lincoln, Nebraska; his daughter, Kerri Deibert and her fiancé, Ryan Bellew of North Platte, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Jayden Kruse, William Kruse, and Brooklyn Deibert; two brothers, Peter Kruse and his wife, Denice of Grand Island, Nebraska and Gary Kruse and his wife, Cindy of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and two sisters, Betty and her husband, Rick Kapernick of Los Alamos, New Mexico and Georgia and her husband, Roger Snyder of Lincoln, Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Wreaths Across America to support Veterans that have been buried.

Memorial Service will be at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, 1616 West B Street, North Platte, Nebraska on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Ramsey officiating.&nbsp; Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska. In his retirement he and Nancy loved vacationing together at the beach and watching their grandchildren’s sporting events.Steve is survived by his wife, Nancy; his son, Brian Kruse and his wife, Mindy of Lincoln, Nebraska; his daughter, Kerri Deibert and her fiancé, Ryan Bellew of North Platte, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Jayden Kruse, William Kruse, and Brooklyn Deibert; two brothers, Peter Kruse and his wife, Denice of Grand Island, Nebraska and Gary Kruse and his wife, Cindy of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; and two sisters, Betty and her husband, Rick Kapernick of Los Alamos, New Mexico and Georgia and her husband, Roger Snyder of Lincoln, Nebraska.In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Wreaths Across America to support Veterans that have been buried.Memorial Service will be at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, 1616 West B Street, North Platte, Nebraska on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Ramsey officiating.&nbsp; Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.
