LINCOLN, Neb.-A former Lincoln doctor has been arrested on allegations he sexually assaulted former patients.
The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office said Dr. Scott Schmidt was arrested Thursday on felony warrants for 1st and 2nd-degree sexual assault. Authorities said the incidences involved two former patients between Jan. 1 and July 1, 2022. Deputies also served a search warrant at Schmidt's residence.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are asking anyone who may have been victimized by Dr. Schmidt to contact the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office at 402-441-6500.
Dr. Schmidt is an addiction medicine specialist.
