Humans, dogs escape uninjured from Trumbull house fire

CLAY COUNTY, Neb.-Several humans and their four-legged friends escaped a Trumbull house fire unharmed.

According to Clay County Emergency Management, the Trumbull Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 100 block of Main St. on Thursday evening.

Authorities said three adults and several dogs were in the home when the fire broke out.

The adults were all transported to Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings by private vehicle. TLC Veterinary from Hastings examined the dogs. No one was seriously injured.

Officials said there were working smoke detectors in the home and damage was kept to a minimum.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nebraska State Fire Marshal's office.
