The Prairie Arts Center is staying busy this September with new gallery exhibits, special events and ongoing classes.
Two exhibits are currently on display, featuring work by Daniel Gerringer of Kearney and Prairie Arts Center studio artist Rebecca Entz. An artist reception for both will be held September 24, giving visitors a chance to meet the artists and learn more about their work.
The center will also host its third annual Cigars Under the Stars on September 17 at 7:30 p.m. The outdoor event includes cigars, whiskey and wine, music, fire pits and an evening of conversation. Tickets are $50 per person or two for $90.
Looking ahead to October, the Prairie Arts Center is preparing its annual Halloween silent auction. Around 30 local businesses, artists and individuals are decorating animal skulls, skeletons, mannequins and other pieces that will be auctioned during the first two weeks of October. Bidding will wrap up October 16 during a themed cocktail party.
The Prairie Arts Center also continues to offer Body by Camille yoga classes Monday through Thursday at 5:45 p.m., along with a Saturday morning class.
