Post news director Canon Rath chatted with Scrappy the president for the Guardians of the Children (GOC) about the upcoming 11th annual "caller" chili/soup, rib/meat cook off and silent auction taken place this Saturday at the D&N Event Center in North Platte.

The event runs from 11:00am - 2:00pm and costs $5 at the door to get in. That $5 paid will let you taste all the chili/meats being served. The event is in honor of Ed "Caller" Clafin. The Lil' Guardians will be on location selling drinks and cinnamon rolls. Attendees will have the chance to vote on the best chili/soup, rib/meat and best decorated booth.

The GOC is still looking for teams to participate in the event. If you would like to participate, it does cost $45 per team. To get the contact information, check out the flyer attached to the story.
