OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — The fiery collision of two vehicles at a southwestern Omaha intersection has left two women dead and a man hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.
The crash happened around 11 p.m. Thursday when a pickup truck and sport utility vehicle collided at 192nd and F streets, sending both vehicles into a ditch and causing the SUV to erupt in flames, police said in a news release.
Firefighters eventually put out the flames, and authorities discovered the bodies of the two women inside the SUV. Police said they were not able to immediately identify the women.
A 21-year-old man driving the truck was taken to an Omaha hospital with back and chest fractures, police said. Police closed the roadways around the crash scene for about five hours while detectives and forensics staff investigated.
