WAVERLY, Neb.-The Lancaster County Sheriff's office is investigating after a 14-year-old allegedly stabbed a 15-year-old in a Waverly park.
Authorities said at around 11:47 a.m. on Thursday, deputies responded to the report of a stabbing at Wayne Park. Further investigation revealed the 14-year-old was responsible for the stabbing.
The 15-year-old was transported to an area hospital with injuries authorities said could be life-threatening.
The suspect was taken into custody by Nebraska State Patrol troopers and is in police custody.
Wayne Park will remain closed as investigators continue to process the crime scene.
Authorities will hold a news conference on Friday morning, where more information is expected to be released.
