LINCOLN — U.S. Rep. Mike Flood, R-Neb., and Rep. Joe Neguse, D-Colo., announced Tuesday they are reviving a bipartisan group in Congress aimed at focusing federal lawmakers on the importance of steering policy toward nurturing the nation’s innovators and entrepreneurs.
Flood, whose 1st Congressional District is home to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and community college campuses, said the new Congressional Bipartisan Innovation and Entrepreneurship Caucus would help the House “support small business.”
Flood said that he hopes to help Nebraska incubate startup companies and that focusing on the environment that helps these businesses grow need not be political or partisan. Neguse said in his statement that he hopes to buttress Colorado’s emphasis on the aerospace and technology industries, allowing the state to continue serving as a hub of innovation.
Both will co-chair the group.
“We invite our colleagues to join us as we support the next generation of American entrepreneurs,” Flood said in a statement.
