NORTH PLATTE, Neb.-A three day search for a missing Omaha boy came to a tragic end on Thursday.
Abi Gurung, 7, was playing with family at NP Dodge Park in North Omaha when he disappeared on Tuesday.
Family members and witnesses told authorities that Abi had last been seen playing in the water.
Authorities immediately began searching the area but were unable to locate Abi on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Crews resumed the search on Thursday and were just about to conclude for the day when law enforcement was approached by a fisherman.
Omaha Police Department Public Information Officer Phil Anson said the fisherman told authorities he had seen a child's toy floating in the water.
Anson said the team followed up on the lead and located Abi's body.
Authorities said the death appears to be accidental, but an investigation is ongoing.
