KANSAS CITY (AP) — A woman who was crossing a Kansas City street died after being hit by a vehicle that then fled the scene, police said.
The crash happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday on the south side of the city, Kansas City police said in a news release.
Investigators believe the 61-year-old woman was walking west and crossing Troost Avenue at 82nd Terrace when she was hit by a northbound vehicle. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not immediately release her name and have not announced any suspects or arrests in the case.
