December 3, 2024 (Lincoln, NEB.) — Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol removed 52 impaired drivers from the road during the Make It Click campaign.
During the campaign, which ran from November 23 through December 1, troopers arrested 52 drivers for driving under the influence. Troopers also issued 44 citations for seat belt and child safety seat violations.
Troopers also issued citations for speeding (1,027), including 47 citations for speeding at over 100 miles per hour, no seat belt (30), improper child restraint (14), open alcohol container (25), minor in possession (7), and driving under suspension (69). Troopers also performed 273 motorist assists during the campaign.
“Thanksgiving marked the beginning of a busy holiday season,” said Colonel Bolduc. “With winter weather already here, we want you to arrive to your holiday destinations as safely as possible. Wear your seat belt, always drive sober, put your phone down, and stay alert to changing weather conditions.”
The Make It Click campaign was made possible thanks in part to a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office. As the holiday travel season continues, NSP encourages any motorist who observes a dangerous driver to report it to the NSP Highway Helpline by calling *55.
