SEDGWICK COUNTY — Authorities investigating a fatal Monday crash have identified the girl who died from her injuries as 17-year-old Stephanie Valentine of Norwich, according to Sheriff's Lt. Benjamin Blick.

Just after 2:30p.m. Monday, a Kenworth semi driven by a 38-year-old woman was eastbound on MacArthur at 135th Street west and struck a southbound Chevy Cruze driven by a 43-year-old man.

EMS transported the driver of the Chevy and his passenger identified as Valentine for treatment. The teen suffered critical injuries and died Tuesday morning, according to Blick. The semi driver was not injured.

Investigators determined the driver of the Chevy Cruze failed to stop at the posted stop sign for southbound traffic at the intersection or failed to yield to the crossing Kenworth. The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.
