North Platte, Ne - The Nebraska Sparklers, is the Nebraska chapter of the Miss America’s Little Sisters Mentoring Program. The program began as a goodwill gesture between girls in the local community and the visiting delegates. Miss Nebraska Organization's Megan Doughty says Sparklers is for little girls 6-12 years old, "they are paired with one of the Miss or Teen delegate during the Miss Nebraska and Miss Nebraska's Teen cometition in June for the entirety of the week. The girls get to dance with the delgates on stage, are introduced to the pageant crowd and more".
