Post News Director Canon Rath chatted with KLPR Co-Sports Director Jon Willis about the upcoming award ceremony in New York City.
NORTH PLATTE - 91.1 KLPR is the student-run radio station at the University of Nebraska at Kearney and is run by students of campus. Every year, KLPR submits clips to the Intercollege Broadcasting System Awards in New York City and this year, KLPR students are finalists in 5 categories. Students who are finalists come from all over Nebraska and two are from Kansas.

In our coverage area, North Platte native Kade Mohr is a finalist for Best Sports Play by Play alongside Willis, Traeton Harimon of Bayard is a finalist for Best Sports Update along with Willis, Ethan McCormick and Alex Hammeke. Finally, Rhiannon Painter of Valentine is a finalist for Best PSA alongside Seth Heikes, Paige Steinman, and Morgan Semm. The IBS Media Awards will be presented March 2 during the organization’s annual conference in New York City.
