Gothenburg, Ne - Central Nebraska community partners are coming together to support the region’s agricultural producers and their families with an Ag Health and Safety Event, Cultivating Health, scheduled for February 3, 2026.
The free event will be held at the Dayspring Bank Event Center in Gothenburg from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature keynote speakers, breakout sessions, health screenings, and an exhibitor area focused on agriculture-related health and safety. Lunch and a cocktail hour will be provided, and thanks to the support of sponsors, there is no cost to attend.
This year’s theme is “Cultivating Health – Growing Safety,” emphasizing the importance of protecting both the physical and mental well-being of those working in the agriculture industry.
Organizers say the goal of the event is to provide engaging, meaningful education and resources that address real-world challenges faced by ag producers, farm workers, and their families. Men and women working in agriculture are encouraged to attend for a full day of learning, connection, and prevention-focused information.
Tentative topics and speakers for the event include:
- Mental health and stress management with Chad Reznicek, Behavioral Health State Specialist with the Colorado AgrAbility Project, and Linda Emanuel with AgriSafe Network
- Distracted driving and equipment operation safety presented by the Nebraska Trucking Association
- Water safety and nitrates with experts from UNMC and the Governor’s Task Force
- Food in the field and nutrition to reduce inflammation and chronic disease with Hannah Guenther and Brenda Aufdenkamp
- Grain bin entry, lockout/tagout procedures, and farm safety practices with Country Partners
- Ergonomics and working smartly and safely with Brady Harrison, Occupational Therapist
In addition to educational sessions, the event will include a variety of health screenings and exhibitor booths, all aimed at promoting safety, prevention, and overall wellness within the agricultural community.
More information about the Ag Health and Safety Event is expected to be released closer to the event date.
