McCook, Nebr - #2 Ogallala beat #5 Holdrege 8-0 in 5 innings in the opening round of the B6 American Legion Seniors Tournament Friday afternoon. Ogallala will play McCook Saturday at 4pm Mountain Time. Pregame coverage on Flatrock 100.7 will air at 3:50pm MT. Listen Online at www.Flatrock1007.com .
Dominating pitching performance from Ogallala's Ian Shaw as he struck out all 9 batters he faced. Caden Rezac would come in relief for Shaw in the top of the 4th and would finish his day with 5 strikeouts. As a whole, the Ogallala pitching staff would strike out 14 batters and only giving up 1 hit in the entire contest.

Slow start for both teams as it was tied 0-0 heading into the bottom of the third before Jayden Curtis would get a single which got the bats rolling for Ogallala. 4 straight singles, walks, and errors committed by Holdrege would help contribute to 7 runs in the bottom half of the third inning.
Holdrege Farm Bureau hung on for the 4th inning, but Rezac would knock Curtis's home in the bottom half of the 5th to push the lead to 8 and eventually call the game to mercy rule where Ogallala was victorous 8-0.
Earlier in the day Broken Bow defeated top seeded Minden 15-0, Broken Bow will play Gothenburg who lost to McCook 12-4 in 5 innings at 2pm Central Time in McCook on Saturday afternoon. The 11 am elimination game will feature Minden taking on Holdrege.
