Suspect in car stolen in Omaha was opening mailboxes in Kansas

JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a woman for alleged theft.

Just before 8p.m. Sunday, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office had a report of an individual driving a beige Toyota allegedly opening mailboxes in southern Jackson County near Hoyt, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

A short time later, Sheriff's Deputies located a vehicle matching the description near 126th and Q. Road.

Deputies determined the vehicle, a 2007 Toyota Corolla had been reported stolen out of Omaha, Nebraska. The driver was identified as 28-year-old Tehya Rose Wright, of Mason City, Iowa.

Wright was arrested by deputies and remains in the Jackson County Jail on requested theft charges.
