Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Man Caught with Heroin in the Panhandle

Alliance, Neb. -  On December 20, 2024, at approximately 11:36am, Officer Parker Dahlberg conducted a traffic stop on a white Dodge Durango with Florida License plate RMKN91 for speeding (66 mph in a posted 50 mph zone). The vehicle was occupied by two male subjects from Texas claiming to be on their way to Denver from South Dakota.

During the traffic stop, Officer Dahlberg noted the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Consent was then obtained to search the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, officers located used syringes consistent with narcotic use. Additionally, a vial, containing approximately 10 grams of suspected heroin was located in a small bag which the rear seat passenger claimed ownership of.

The passenger, Shawn Baxter DOB 1/7/85 was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance. The driver of the vehicle, Dante Lozoya DOB 5/7/98 was cited and released for speeding, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia
