
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Omaha police have identified a driver killed in a fiery accident on Interstate 480.
The accident on Friday closed the westbound lanes of the interstate. It happened when a 1988 Pontiac 6000 broke down in a traffic lane and was struck from behind by a 2012 Ford pickup truck.
The Pontiac’s gas tank ruptured and it became engulfed in flames. The driver of the Pontiac was trapped and died at the scene.
Police on Monday identified him as 60-year-old Darryl E. Griffin of Omaha.
The driver of the pickup truck was unhurt.
