
YUMA COUNTY —A supercell EF3 tornado generated winds at 150 mph near the Kansas, Nebraska border in Northeast Colorado just after 6p.m. CDT Tuesday, according to a preliminary storm survey from the National Weather Service in Goodland.
The tornado with a maximum width of 161 yards moved east-southeast from Hyde, Colorado to Yuma, Colorado and remained just south of the city.
It damaged two homes, trees, numerous power poles and irrigation pivots. Grain bins and a slanted metal building containing agriculture equipment were also damaged.
The tornado lasted approximately 25 minutes and traveled just over six miles. There were no injuries reported.
