On October 14, 2025, President Donald Trump will posthumously award the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, who was tragically assassinated on September 10 during a speaking event at Utah Valley University. The ceremony, scheduled for 4 p.m. ET at the White House, will coincide with what would have been Kirk's 32nd birthday. His wife, Erika Kirk, will accept the honor on his behalf.

President Trump has praised Kirk as “a giant of his generation” and “a champion of liberty,” emphasizing his significant impact on American society. The award ceremony is expected to draw a large crowd, reflecting the high regard in which Kirk was held by his supporters.

Turning Point USA, the organization Kirk founded, continues to honor his memory by engaging young people across the nation, promoting the principles of free markets and limited government. In the wake of Kirk's passing, TPUSA has seen a surge in interest, with over 120,000 inquiries and the establishment of more than 2,700 new chapters.

The National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk is to serve as a reminder of the importance of civic engagement, open discourse, and the promotion of democratic values. As Americans observe this day, they are encouraged to reflect on Kirk's contributions and consider how they can continue to engage in meaningful ways within their communities.
