Purdum, NE – Kenneth LeRoy Richards age 79 of Purdum, NE passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 at his home.

Kenneth LeRoy Richards was born on August 3, 1940 in Ansley, NE to Wilson and Edith (Henion) Richards.&nbsp; Kenneth attended grade school in Sargent and high school in Halsey.&nbsp; After school Kenneth worked for Sandhills Construction of Halsey, NE. 

On December 31, 1960 Kenneth married Inez Jones.&nbsp; The couple moved to Ogallala where Kenneth worked for TRW.&nbsp; They then moved to Kearney where he worked for Rockwell for 5 to 6 years, then Eaton for 19 years. After retiring in 1996 the couple moved to Purdum.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Inez of Purdum, four daughters Tamra (Carl) Larson of Loup City, Bonita Richards of Ravenna, Connie (Rod) Roeder of Kearney, and Carla Richards of Purdum, 19 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, sister Joyce Cary of Callaway, brother-in-law Floyd Haines of Callaway, and several nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Wilson and Edith, two sisters Cleo and Beverly, brother Dennis, and grandson Christopher.&nbsp; 

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2020 at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow, NE with Pastor Al Jessup officiating.&nbsp; Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.&nbsp;

Kenneth LeRoy Richards (1940-2020)

Glenda Mae Miller, age 86 of North Platte, Nebraska, unexpectedly died on Friday, July 31, 2020, at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora.

Glenda was born in Keystone to Glen and Garva (Anderson) Winner on January 19, 1934.&nbsp; The family later moved to Red Willow where Glenda graduated from McCook High School.

Shortly after high school, Glenda married Connie Henry Miller in McCook, Nebraska on December 20, 1953.&nbsp; The couple had two sons, Greg and Scott, and lived in Cambridge, Nebraska before moving to North Platte in 1977 where Connie owned and operated City Barber Shop.

Glenda went on to graduate from Kearney State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Education.&nbsp; She taught in country schools until moving to North Platte where she taught 5th Grade at Buffalo Elementary for 18 years and earned her Master's Degree.&nbsp; Glenda eventually retired from NPPS.

Glenda was a member of First United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary #163, Red Hat Society and different card clubs.&nbsp; She enjoyed traveling during her retirement and raising horses when she lived in Cambridge.&nbsp; Glenda loved her family and will be remembered for being the anchor of her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Connie, and their son, Greg; her parents, Glen and Garva Winner; brother, Hal Winner; and sisters, Mina Jane Winner and Betty Jo Carter.

Glenda leaves behind her son, Scott (Stacy) Miller, of Temecula, California; daughter-in-law, Tracy Miller, of Hershey, Nebraska; grandchildren, Shaylyn (James) Thornburg, Chelsea Rae Miller, Daynlee (Ashley) Miller, Treyann Miller and John Miller; great-grandchildren, Emma, Jada, Grace, Noah and Jayce; brother, Jack (Pat) Winner, of Lancaster, Texas; and other family.

Cremation was chosen. Memorial Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at First United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in Ft. Frances LaMay Mell, 96, of North Platte, passed away on July 28, 2020 at her home.&nbsp;

She was born on June 12, 1924 in Kearney, NE to James and Alice (Overhiser) Scollin.&nbsp; Frances graduated from Kearney High School and then attended a teacher’s prep course to teach school north of Keystone.&nbsp; She married Joseph Mell Jr. in rural Keystone at the Scollin ranch.&nbsp; The couple ranched in Arthur county with their family.&nbsp;

She was a member of the Salvation Army Church since 1974 and was a D.A.R. member.&nbsp; Frances taught her family various different things, including their cooking skills.&nbsp; She will be remembered as the true center of the family and always the one you could go to for anything.&nbsp;

Survivors include her children, Frances (Charlie) DeWolf and Betty (Don) Stratton, all of North Platte; 4 grandchildren, Betty McClellen of Curtis, Mary (Dan) Enders of Des Moines, IA, Deborah (Steve) Moore of Hershey, and Jodi (Travers) Richardson of North Platte; 9 great-grandchildren, Brian McClellen, Michael Torres, Christopher McClellen, Steven Torres, Merrisa McClellen, Laryssa Torres, Lane Richardson, Brittney Richardson and Nathaniel Hutton; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Connie; great-grandson, Brandon McClellen; siblings, Dorothy Thiems, Henry “Punk” Scollin and Harry Eugene “JR” Scollin.

Frances LaMay Mell (1924-2020)

Joy Adkisson, age 71, of Sutherland, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, July 31, 2020.

Joy was born in North Platte to George and Hazel Himmerite on March 9, 1949.&nbsp; She grew up between North Platte and Hershey and graduated from North Platte High School in 1967.&nbsp; She then attended Beauty School in North Platte and later received her CNA license.&nbsp; Joy moved to Sutherland in 1997.

Joy loved her family, especially her cat, Scott, who was her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel Himmerite; and uncle, John Effenbeck.

Joy is survived by her children, Kimberly (Kenneth) Hicks, of North Platte and Toni (Marie) Venzor and Todd (Crystal) Adkisson, all of Sutherland; grandchildren, Nathan, Shane and Stephen Adkisson, Mia Lopez, Andrea Venzor and Lukas Davis; great-granddaughter, Rose Adkisson; sister, Pam (Mike) Brosseau, of North Platte; aunt, Lila Effenbeck, of North Platte; nieces, Alicia (Nate) Shirley, of Maywood, and Amber (Aaron) Sundberg, of Lincoln; and great nephew, Colin Sundberg, who called Joy "The Cookie Lady"; as well as her cat, Scott, and other family.

Joy Adkisson (1949-2020)

Helen Elaine Jorges, age 94, passed away at the Elwood Care Center on July 22, 2020.&nbsp; She was born April 25, 1926 in rural Eustis, Nebraska to Charley and Henrietta (Fasse) Hueftle.&nbsp; She attended school and graduated from Eustis Public School with the class of 1943.

Following graduation, she worked for a number of years at the Gauger Store in Eustis.&nbsp; It was during this time she met Herman Jorges, Junior (JR) from Elwood.&nbsp; He went off to the Korean War and she waited for his return.&nbsp; They were married on October 28, 1956, at the Methodist Church in Eustis.&nbsp; They made their home in Elwood and started their family.&nbsp; Two children were born to this union, daughter Beverly and son Kim.&nbsp; During this time period she worked at the Elwood Care Home as the head of housekeeping for 30 years.&nbsp; She retired in 2001.

Helen was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in all of their activities.&nbsp; She loved her Elwood Pirates and Nebraska Cornhuskers and especially cheering on her favorite players/runners throughout the years.&nbsp; Even at the age of 93 she was cheering on the Pirates.&nbsp; She enjoyed time spent in her garden and working in her flowers.&nbsp; She loved to can all types of items from her garden as well as making homemade noodles and pretzels.

She was very social and enjoyed her monthly card group of pinochle, was a member of the United Methodists Church, Women’s Society of the Elwood Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; husband Herman (JR) Jorges; sister Ruby Axtell; brother Harold Hueftle and granddaughter Brittany Engen.

Survivors include her daughter Beverly Ellenbecker and husband Mike of Fargo ND; son Kim Jorges and wife Shelly of Johnson Lake; grandchildren Phillip, Nathan, Cassie, Ty and Trevor; as well many nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the Elwood Booster Club, Elwood United Methodist Church or Elwood Care Center.&nbsp; Services will be held Monday, July 27, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Elwood United Methodist Church with Pastor Darrel Wissmann officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Elwood Cemetery.&nbsp; Visitation with family present will be Sunday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Elwood United Methodist Church.

Helen Elaine Jorges (1926-2020)

Floyd L. Gengenbach of Eustis passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at Elwood Care Center at the age of 97. 

Floyd was born July 2, 1923 to Gottlob and Emma (Gruber) Gengenbach at their farm home northeast of Eustis.&nbsp; Floyd was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis.&nbsp; Floyd attended Dawson County Rural School District #70 and graduated from Eustis High School with the class of 1940.&nbsp; Following graduation, he attended electrical school and was certified as an electrician.&nbsp; Electricity was just becoming available in the area due to the Tri-County project, and he did the electrical wiring for many of the farms in the area.&nbsp; He also started farming with his father following high school and that was his occupation throughout his adult life. 

Floyd was united in marriage to Bernice Gates on June 21, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus, Nebraska.&nbsp; Their union was blessed with three children, Michael, Marilyn and Marc.&nbsp; Floyd was a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church and became involved in the mission of the church by teaching Sunday School for over 40 years.&nbsp; He was a member of the church choir for more than 50 years and served as secretary of the Congregation Council for several years.&nbsp; During his youth he was involved in Luther League, where he held offices in the local group and at the District and Federation levels.&nbsp; He enjoyed taking part in Bible Camp and attended International League Conventions in various parts of the United States.&nbsp; Floyd was part the community by serving on the Dawson County Extension Board, the Board of Directors of Farmland Service Coop of Gothenburg (now Country Partners Coop) and the Farmers Elevator Board in Eustis.&nbsp; He served on the Dawson County Farm Bureau Board, was a board member of the Eustis Senior Center and volunteered many hours with maintenance at the Center. Part of his volunteer service at the Center was to help make the ice cream for the monthly birthday observances (which he did for over ten years), and to help with the noodle making for many years. 

His hobbies were farm work and working in the shop with metal.&nbsp; He fixed all of the breakdowns on machinery, but he also was creative with metal and made many improvements to his equipment.&nbsp; He was very particular and focused in his work, and enjoyed going to the iron pile and repairing rather than replacing.&nbsp; He enjoyed music and was a member of the Lion's Club Quartette along with Paul Grabenstein, Adolph Koch and Clarence Johnson, which sang for many events for several years. 

Floyd is survived by his wife, Bernice; children, Michael and wife Peggy of Eustis, Marilyn and husband Raymond Warren of Roseburg, OR and Marc and his wife Karen of Blair, NE; grandchildren: Megan and her husband Rudy Gonzales of Fort Worth, Texas, Michelle and her husband Matthew Paris of York, NE, Carissa and her husband Leandro Castro of Omaha, NE, Heidi and her husband USAF Jerod Hausmann of Omaha, NE, USAF Christopher Warren and his wife Kelsea of Popefield, NC, and USAF Matthew Warren of Kunsan, Korea; great grandsons Xavier Paris, Noah and Barrett Hausman; great granddaughters Izabelle Paris, Lea and Olivia Castro, Charlotte Warren; brother-in-law Wayne Janssen of Gothenburg and many nieces, nephews and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Gottlob and Emma Gengenbach; his brother Walter and his wife Mildred Gengenbach; and his sister Eileen Janssen.&nbsp;

 </figure>Floyd L. Gengenbach of Eustis passed away Monday, July 20, 2020 at Elwood Care Center at the age of 97. Floyd was born July 2, 1923 to Gottlob and Emma (Gruber) Gengenbach at their farm home northeast of Eustis.&nbsp; Floyd was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Eustis.&nbsp; Floyd attended Dawson County Rural School District #70 and graduated from Eustis High School with the class of 1940.&nbsp; Following graduation, he attended electrical school and was certified as an electrician.&nbsp; Electricity was just becoming available in the area due to the Tri-County project, and he did the electrical wiring for many of the farms in the area.&nbsp; He also started farming with his father following high school and that was his occupation throughout his adult life. Floyd was united in marriage to Bernice Gates on June 21, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus, Nebraska.&nbsp; Their union was blessed with three children, Michael, Marilyn and Marc.&nbsp; Floyd was a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church and became involved in the mission of the church by teaching Sunday School for over 40 years.&nbsp; He was a member of the church choir for more than 50 years and served as secretary of the Congregation Council for several years.&nbsp; During his youth he was involved in Luther League, where he held offices in the local group and at the District and Federation levels.&nbsp; He enjoyed taking part in Bible Camp and attended International League Conventions in various parts of the United States.&nbsp; Floyd was part the community by serving on the Dawson County Extension Board, the Board of Directors of Farmland Service Coop of Gothenburg (now Country Partners Coop) and the Farmers Elevator Board in Eustis.&nbsp; He served on the Dawson County Farm Bureau Board, was a board member of the Eustis Senior Center and volunteered many hours with maintenance at the Center. Part of his volunteer service at the Center was to help make the ice cream for the monthly birthday observances (which he did for over ten years), and to help with the noodle making for many years. His hobbies were farm work and working in the shop with metal.&nbsp; He fixed all of the breakdowns on machinery, but he also was creative with metal and made many improvements to his equipment.&nbsp; He was very particular and focused in his work, and enjoyed going to the iron pile and repairing rather than replacing.&nbsp; He enjoyed music and was a member of the Lion's Club Quartette along with Paul Grabenstein, Adolph Koch and Clarence Johnson, which sang for many events for several years. Floyd is survived by his wife, Bernice; children, Michael and wife Peggy of Eustis, Marilyn and husband Raymond Warren of Roseburg, OR and Marc and his wife Karen of Blair, NE; grandchildren: Megan and her husband Rudy Gonzales of Fort Worth, Texas, Michelle and her husband Matthew Paris of York, NE, Carissa and her husband Leandro Castro of Omaha, NE, Heidi and her husband USAF Jerod Hausmann of Omaha, NE, USAF Christopher Warren and his wife Kelsea of Popefield, NC, and USAF Matthew Warren of Kunsan, Korea; great grandsons Xavier Paris, Noah and Barrett Hausman; great granddaughters Izabelle Paris, Lea and Olivia Castro, Charlotte Warren; brother-in-law Wayne Janssen of Gothenburg and many nieces, nephews and friends. Shanan Rae (David) Pollmann was born on May 30th, 1971, at Dundy County Hospital to Mike and Cathy (Lutz) David.&nbsp; She entered the family of two sisters, Brigitte and Stefani, being the baby of the family until her brother, Kendall, was born.&nbsp; Shanan graduated from Dundy County High School in 1989.&nbsp; She excelled in basketball and volleyball, but participated in almost every activity there was.&nbsp; She loved her many high school friends and enjoyed reminiscing on all of the fond memories made with them. Shanan attended Nebraska Wesleyan College for one semester before deciding to transfer to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she would graduate with a bachelors in psychology in the fall of 1994.&nbsp; She then continued her education in psychology in the Kansas State University Master’s program. On April 1, 1995, Shanan married Stephen Pollmann in Benkelman, Nebraska.&nbsp; They lived in Manhattan, Kansas, where their son Hayden was born.&nbsp; They settled in Wauneta, Nebraska, and the home she made for them was always filled with Hayden’s friends during his school years. Shanan recently moved to Benkelman, Nebraska, where she helped to take care of her family and the farm. Shanan had a long resume of work places with her most recent being at the Ralph Lauren in Gretna, Nebraska.&nbsp; Shanan made many priceless friendships there and continued to keep in touch years after employment. In 2009, Shanan created “Everything You Imagine” an event planning business centered around weddings.&nbsp; This was her pride and joy.&nbsp; She gained a reputation for the beauty and elegance of her weddings.&nbsp; Her true gifts were creating exquisite flower arrangements and the ability to turn any old, ugly building into a wonderful venue. Family was always very important to Shanan and the love she bestowed upon us is something we will always cherish. Lorretta A. Decker 81, of Kearney (formerly of Dannebrog &amp; Aurora) passed away with her loving family by her side at the Central Nebraska Veteran’s Home in Kearney on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

Loretta was born in Port Jervis, New York on April 5, 1939 to John &amp; Catherine (Hanks) McKinney.&nbsp; Loretta graduated from Grand Island Senior High, after which she met E. Eugene Hartman in Twin Falls, Idaho.&nbsp; They were married in San Antonio, Texas, on August 15, 1957, where Gene was stationed in the Army until his honorable discharge.&nbsp; The couple returned to Nebraska, where they became the loving parents of six children.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Loretta started several businesses during her lifetime, including an in-home daycare, a greeting card partnership, Avon sales, and Country Charm Gifts.&nbsp; Together, Loretta and Gene also owned The Orange Bowl Café in Fullerton and the Dan Dee Drive Inn in Dannebrog, which they ran from 1989 - 1997.&nbsp; After 42 years of marriage, Gene died on August 5, 1999.&nbsp;

Loretta married Glen Decker, Jr. on January 28, 2001, at a private home in Central City.&nbsp; They lived in Aurora and Henderson before moving to the Central Nebraska Veterans home in Grand Island, relocating to Kearney in 2019.&nbsp; Glen and Loretta enjoyed their nineteen years together traveling, enjoying family time, and caring deeply for each other with love and compassion.&nbsp;

A woman of faith, Loretta showed Christ’s love in her caring for others.&nbsp; She enjoyed writing, painting ceramics, gardening, cooking, dogs, and spending time with family.&nbsp; She sang throughout her life and especially enjoyed performing in Dannebrog’s Danish Hearts quartet.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Loretta’s memory is cherished by many, including her husband, Glen Decker, Jr. of Kearney; five children, their spouses, and grandchildren, Kenneth &amp; Dee Hartman of Overland Park, KS (Tanner, Connor, and Haley), Linda &amp; Dan Bornmann of Central City, NE (Lois, Caleb, and Wendy), Twyla &amp; John Andrus of Yankton, SD (Ciara, Bryson, and Rylee), Lois &amp; James Wies of Lincoln, NE (Marcella and Anne), and Janice &amp; Keith Manka of Grand Island, NE (Nathan and Kenley);&nbsp; and three sisters, Diane Hollifield of Meridian, Idaho, Beth Zuehlke of Fostoria, Ohio and Peg McKinney of Fostoria, Ohio.&nbsp;

Esther L. Tuma, 86 of Cotesfield, died on Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Valley View Senior Village in Ord.

Esther was born on April 20, 1934 to John &amp; Mary (Christensen) Burson in Burwell, Nebraska.&nbsp; She attended District 54 in Garfield County.&nbsp; She was united in marriage to Richard Tuma on August 20, 1952 in Ord, Nebraska. She was a busy farm wife and homemaker.&nbsp; She was a member of the Cotesfield United Methodist Church.&nbsp; She served on the Howard County Extension Club/Board and was a Howard County Red Cross Chairman.&nbsp; She was a 4-H leader and FFA Sponsor.&nbsp; She owned the ET Eatery Food Stand at the Howard County Fair.&nbsp; Esther was a wedding coordinator and Caterer.&nbsp; She was a Home Interiors Consultant for 35 years.&nbsp; Her hobbies included cooking, baking, floral arranging, sewing, crafting, and gardening.&nbsp; She was a caregiver for Diane and David and their children during a difficult time.&nbsp;

Those left to cherish her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, David&nbsp; and Barbara Tuma of Elba; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy and Don Gorecki of Farwell, Peggy and Kevin Jorgensen of Grand Island, Melanie and David Weeks of Hastings; foster child, Matt Fieldgrove of Arizona; grandchildren and their spouses, Laura and T.J. Loneta L. Olvey, 80 of Alliance, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the Highland Park Care Center in Alliance, NE Loneta was born December 14, 1939, in Perkins County, Nebraska, to Carl and Gertrude (Pankonin) Mosel.&nbsp; She graduated from Grant High School with the class of 1957. Lucille Maurine McBride was born Sept. 25, 1920, to Merle (Williams) Porter and Ed Porter north of Wauneta on what would be remembered as the Wesley Wheeler farm. At the age of three she, her parents and sister, Lois (eight years older) moved to a farm in the Eden Precinct of Hitchcock County southwest of Wauneta and there resided for all of her childhood and most of her adulthood.&nbsp; When Lucille was eight years old her mother passed away. She attended Eden School District #54 one mile west of the farmstead through all her grade school years.&nbsp; She then attended Wauneta Rural High School and graduated with the class of 1937.&nbsp; She was very active in many school activities, especially any that involved music.&nbsp; She became acquainted with Vearl McBride and eventually they married on Aug. 18, 1939 in Stratton.&nbsp; The couple immediately moved to Denver, a move because of employment.&nbsp; They lived in Denver until March of 1943.&nbsp; During that time, in 1941, their first son, Lynn, was born.&nbsp; In 1943 the McBrides moved back to the home place and farmed for many years.&nbsp; During that time, in 1945, their second son, Vaughn was born in McCook.&nbsp; Lucille was a vital part of the farming operation, became well known for her ability to manage a household, distinguished herself with her cooking and canning abilities and at the same time was a vital member of the Eden Sunshine Club, building a cherished relationship with neighborhood ladies.&nbsp; Also during those years she managed the family while being employed in Wauneta, first at Hoff’s Grocery, then at the Co-op Exchange Office. In 1965 Lucille and Vearl moved to Ogallala.&nbsp; While there she worked at TRW Corporation, was the head housekeeper at the Ramada Inn for five years and worked as a receptionist at a realtor’s office for a year.&nbsp; The McBrides moved back to Wauneta, a move back home supposedly for their retirement.&nbsp; Lucille, however, worked several years as a bookkeeper for the Jussel Oil Company. Lucille will undoubtedly be remembered most for her love of, and exceptional skills, in music. She was the community’s consummate pianist, playing for any service or occasion at which good music was wanted or needed. She spent many years as THE musician and accompanist for the Mt. Zion Methodist Church southwest of Wauneta, then for the United Methodist Church in town. She had the uncanny ability to, not only play a written piece of music but could play almost any song she had ever heard simply by ear. Her house and all surroundings were hardly ever devoid of the beautiful music she created. She very seldom missed church and held various offices over a large span of years (she was a diligent student of the Bible and wrote countless study guides and curricula for various church groups all the while.) Another love was writing a weekly column for the Wauneta Breeze, a relationship that lasted for some 20 years. The usual comment she received was, “I love your writing. Your column is the main reason I read the paper each week.” Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Vearl; her sister Lois, and her brother-in-law Ed Nowka; and as usual many other relatives. Lucille Maurine McBride (1920-2020)

Donajean Lorene Richards Sensel, age 97, went straight into the arms of God and then into the arms of her beloved husband Norris on July 16, 2020.&nbsp; Donajean was born in the Humboldt/Dawson, Nebraska area April 3, 1923, to S. E. and Tillie (Heim) Richards.&nbsp; The doctor could not get there so she was delivered by her dad.

In 1930 the family moved to a farm north of Culbertson.&nbsp; The family traveled across Nebraska in one of the first motor homes built. &nbsp;Donajean attended country school riding her pony, Topsy, to school each morning. &nbsp;On the farm she helped milk cows by hand, work in the fields, dress chickens and bake pies. &nbsp;During the war, Donajean worked at the Army Air Base in McCook.

On June 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to Norris Sensel at the family farm. &nbsp;For a short time the newlyweds lived in Mountain Home, Idaho, where Norris was stationed. &nbsp;They returned to Culbertson where Donajean lived the rest of her days here on Earth. &nbsp;She loved staying home and taking care of her family. &nbsp;Her passion was sewing, and she made many garments as well as altering many more.

She was the last living charter member of VFW Post Auxiliary 6219 and served in many positions.&nbsp; She was a member of Culbertson Trinity United Methodist Church.

Preceding her in death were her husband Norris, her parents, brother Harlan and sister Ramona and great-grandson Cody.

She is survived by her children Richard (Roma) Sensel and Maridee Lyster, 5 grandchildren, 11 1/2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. (CT), Wednesday morning, July 22, 2020 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Culbertson with Pastor Alisa Parde officiating.&nbsp; Interment will follow services in the Culbertson Cemetery.

Kenneth Patrick Brennan, age 50, of Trenton passed away at his home on July 18, 2020.&nbsp; He was born in Stratton, Nebraska on August 22, 1969 to John Edward and Anna Mae (Randall) Brennan.&nbsp; Kenneth went to school in Stratton graduating from Stratton High School in 1988.&nbsp; He then traveled to Salmon River, Idaho to attend a Hunting Guide School.

Kenneth returned to Nebraska and worked for Don Potthoff at Don’s Electric.&nbsp; He would eventually purchase the company and start KBOilfield Company.&nbsp; Kenneth’s family was his world and his great-nieces and nephews were known as “his crew”.&nbsp; He sponsored his nephew’s motor cross adventure, Gracie’s Suckers and also donated to many organizations around Trenton, especially if there were children or high school organizations.&nbsp; He enjoyed hunting, shooting sports and fishing.&nbsp; He would throw the Brennan Shindig BBQ’s which brought family and friends together.

He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Anna; three brothers: John William; Joseph Michael; Jacob Ray Brennan.

Kenneth is survived by two sisters: Carol and Nolan Hanes of Trenton; twin sister: Mary Brennan of McCook; four brothers: Bob (Linda) Brennan of Stratton; Buck (Cookie) Brennan of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Paul (Betty) Brennan of Grand Junction, Colorado; Frank (Kristie) Brennan of Medicine Bow, Wyoming; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Kenneth Patrick Brennan (1969-2020)

Muriel Harper, of North Platte, died at Centennial Park Retirement Village on Friday, July 24, 2020, at the age of 101.

Muriel was born at Linwood, Nebraska, to Fred and Anna Thomas on December 16, 1918.&nbsp; She grew up in Linwood where she attended the Congregational Church and graduated from high school in 1937.&nbsp; Muriel then moved to Omaha to attend Cosmetology School and after she was done she bought a beauty shop in David City.

Through Muriel’s job she met John Harper and the two were united in marriage on April 13, 1941, in Linwood.&nbsp; Since John worked for the U.P. Railroad, the couple made their home in North Platte.&nbsp; They had three children, John ‘Jack’, Bob and Diane, and Muriel stayed home with the kids but continued to do hair for her friends.

The Harper family enjoyed spending time together, fishing and camping. Muriel and John also enjoyed gardening, he gardened and she did the canning, and they loved dancing.&nbsp; Muriel also liked following the Huskers and loved cooking, baking and making peanut brittle.

Many people loose their health or memory as they get old, but not Muriel, her memory was sharp and her health was great due to her good genes and daily crossword puzzles.&nbsp; Muriel always wanted to live to be 100, and she did better than that and was very fortunate to live as long as she did!

Muriel was a member of U.T.U. Auxiliary Twin Rivers Lodge, U.P. Old Timers, and Order of Eastern Star Chapter #20 in David City for over 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, and their son, John; son-in-law, Kim McNeel; her parents, Fred and Anna Thomas; brothers, Fredrick and Conrad Thomas; and sisters, Elaine Tiller and Betty Bartunek.

Muriel is survived by her children, Diane McNeel, of Littleton, CO, and Bob (Pat) Harper, of Hershey; grandchildren, Tami (David) Noe, Kerry (Mitch) Palin, Krista (Josh) Banks and Jay McNeel; great-grandchildren, Adam, Sean, Nolan and Gwyn; great great-grandkids, Savanah, Harper and Aiden; as well as other family.

Joyce A. Feeney, age 86, passed away July 22, 2020 at Great Plains Health.&nbsp; She was born June 17, 1934 in Elm Creek, NE to Frank and Dorothy (Marr) Hughbanks.&nbsp; As a child she moved to a farm north of Maxwell and later the family moved into Maxwell.&nbsp; She attended Maxwell Public School and graduated in 1951.&nbsp; In 1952 she married John R. Feeney in Maxwell and lived in Baltimore while John was stationed there with the army.&nbsp; After John’s discharge they moved back to Maxwell where they raised their five children.&nbsp; Joyce worked at the Maxwell Bank, drove the Maxwell School bus and sold Insurance until her retirement.&nbsp; She was an EMT for the Maxwell Fire Department for 21 years. She was very active in the community and volunteered for many local organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband John of 66 years; her parents; brother, Gary Lee; and her granddaughter Amber Marie Feeney.

Joyce is survived by her children, Matt (Jerry Alverez) Feeney, Terre Feeney, Tim (Pam) Feeney, Tom (Opal) Feeney and Judy Sturdivant; grandchildren, Aaron, Drew (Courtney), Ryan, Alex (Ashlee), Eamonn (Hope), Kyle, Bryce (Erin), Kyer (Megan), Brittney and Jaylon; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Marty Kay (Evans) Osentowski was born May 21, 1963 in Rapid City, SD to Marion and Berteen (Trask) Evans. She passed away suddenly July 18, 2020.&nbsp;

Marty moved to the Sandhills in 1977 and her love for the area kept her here.&nbsp; She married Gaylen Osentowski on December 2, 1984. On March 17, 1991 they welcomed their son Kolt.&nbsp;

One would be hard-pressed to think of a time when Marty did not have at least one dog.&nbsp; She loved her dogs, horses, playing golf, and watching Kolt rope.&nbsp; She was fiercely competitive in a game of pool or cribbage and spent many evenings challenging friends and family.&nbsp;

Marty is survived by her husband Gaylen, son and daughter-in-law Kolt and Gina Osentowski, brothers Bill (Barb) Evans and Kelly (Carla) Evans, sisters Becky (Lonnie) Bell, Carol (Ron) Knapp, Jeanny (Lonny) Parmely, and Heather (Jeff) Penner, Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, her dogs Abby, Babe Hazel, and Toots, and a large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father Marion, mother Berteen, father-in-law Max, mother-in-law Hattie, many good dogs, and a few good horses.&nbsp;

Marty will always be remembered for living life her own way and for never knowing a stranger.&nbsp; She will be missed by many.&nbsp;

The family suggests memorials to the Pelican Beach Golf Club or to a memorial of the donor’s choice.

 </figure>Marty Kay (Evans) Osentowski was born May 21, 1963 in Rapid City, SD to Marion and Berteen (Trask) Evans. She passed away suddenly July 18, 2020.&nbsp;Marty moved to the Sandhills in 1977 and her love for the area kept her here.&nbsp; She married Gaylen Osentowski on December 2, 1984. On March 17, 1991 they welcomed their son Kolt.&nbsp;One would be hard-pressed to think of a time when Marty did not have at least one dog.&nbsp; She loved her dogs, horses, playing golf, and watching Kolt rope.&nbsp; She was fiercely competitive in a game of pool or cribbage and spent many evenings challenging friends and family.&nbsp;Marty is survived by her husband Gaylen, son and daughter-in-law Kolt and Gina Osentowski, brothers Bill (Barb) Evans and Kelly (Carla) Evans, sisters Becky (Lonnie) Bell, Carol (Ron) Knapp, Jeanny (Lonny) Parmely, and Heather (Jeff) Penner, Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, her dogs Abby, Babe Hazel, and Toots, and a large extended family.She was preceded in death by her father Marion, mother Berteen, father-in-law Max, mother-in-law Hattie, many good dogs, and a few good horses.&nbsp;Marty will always be remembered for living life her own way and for never knowing a stranger.&nbsp; She will be missed by many.&nbsp;The family suggests memorials to the Pelican Beach Golf Club or to a memorial of the donor’s choice.Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 24, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. MT at the Hyannis Fairgrounds in Hyannis, NE with A.B. Marty Kay (Evans) Osentowski (1936-2020)

Kevin L. Reichenberg, age 60, of Grant, NE, passed away, Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at his home in Grant.

Kevin was born November 20, 1959 in Ogallala, NE to Lewis Harold and Mary Ann (Slobzewski) Reichenberg.

Kevin met LeAnn Daly at Chadron State College, where he played football for three years and wrestled for one year. On July 12, 1980 they were united in marriage and recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

He went to school in Ogallala and graduated from Ogallala High School in 1978 and then went to Chadron State College. After college he returned to Ogallala and worked for Goodall Electric Farmers Co Op. of Brule, Ogallala and Roscoe for 16 1/2 years. In 1997 he moved to Fremont and was a Grain Trader for Hansen Mueller of Omaha until 2004. They moved to Iowa Falls, Iowa, where he worked for FC Co Op. In 2013, they returned to Nebraska, making their home in Grant where he worked for Frenchman Valley Co Op.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Kevin was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5835 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, member of the Chadron State College Athletic Hall of Fame, loved Chicago Cubs Baseball and Cornhusker Football and enjoyed watching his grandchildren golf, play football, wrestle, and rodeo. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Kevin worked in the grain and agriculture industry for thirty-plus years. He was looking forward to retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Art Daly; and grandparents, Henry and Esther Reichenberg, Peter and Frances Slobzewski.

Kevin is survived by his wife, LeAnn, of Grant; three children; Krista (Austin) Gaston, of Madrid; Bo (Holly) Reichenberg, of Harrisburg; Cain (EmmaRaye) Reichenberg, of Sutherland; five grandchildren; Kayla Reichenberg, Taylor Hubl, Ben McClain, all of Madrid; Wyatt and Wilbur Reichenberg, of Harrisburg; 1 brother, Rick (Lana) Reichenberg, of Council Bluffs, IA; 1 sister Diane (Richard) Schwasinger, of Wichita, KS; sister-in-law, LaRae (Kirt) Thompson, of Brady; brother-in-law, Mike Daly, of Sidney, IA; mother-in-law, Ilene Daly, of Tryon; 6 nieces, 2 nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A rosary will be recited, Monday, July 27, 2020 at 9:30 a.m., followed by A Mass of the Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 27, 2020 in the St. Luke's Catholic Church with Father Bryan Ernest officiating.&nbsp;

Interment will be, Monday, July 27, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. C.T. in the Miller Cemetery, Tryon, NE.&nbsp;

A memorial has been established in his name.&nbsp;&nbsp;
