Helen Harriett Trumbull  (1936 - 2020)

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Larry Vernon Liljestrand, age 70, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on August 18, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. &nbsp; &nbsp; He was born on February 9, 1950 at Dr. B.W. Pyle's Hospital above the Potter Pharmacy in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Vernon and Alice (Johnson) Liljestrand.&nbsp; Larry grew up on a farm south of Brady, Nebraska with his older sister Marie (Liljestrand) Duis and graduated from Brady High School in 1968. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Larry married the love of his life, Patricia Ann McCarty on March 21, 1970, the first day of spring in that year.&nbsp; Two children were born to this union, Lisa and Adam.&nbsp; Larry continued his family's work on the farm south of Brady until 1977 when he traded the plow for the diesel engine of the train with the Union Pacific Railroad.&nbsp; The fmaily made the move to North Platte in 1979 and continue to reside in the same house today.&nbsp; He worked his way up to engineer over the years, retiring in 2012, putting in over 34 years of service to the Union Pacific Railroad. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Larry enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting deer, pheasants and geese.&nbsp; He became a certified scuba diver and loved going spearfishing and competing in spearfish tournaments.&nbsp; Larry enjoyed being the captain of his boat and camping at Lake McConaughey, as well as following his kids' sporting events. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Copper Mountain home was the perfect excuse to take the family snow skiing in the winter and a peaceful getaway in the summer.&nbsp; It was also a good escape, used to visit Black Hawk and Central City to partake in another favorite activity of battling the "1-armed bandits" and of course, to visit the casino's in Council Bluffs, too. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Larry and Patricia loved to travel together.&nbsp; They took many cruises, one for Lisa and Mark's wedding, through the Panama Canal, Hawaii, and others.&nbsp; They took a cross country road trip with family in a tightly packed minivan to Disney World, stopping in Nashville and Branson.&nbsp; Another favorite trip was to Pennsylvania to see Lisa graduate from War College, stopping in Hershey for chocolate and a few cases of Yuengling to bring back home.&nbsp; They were always taking trips across Nebraska and Kansas for birthdays, football games, rodeos, dance recitals and holidays. &nbsp; &nbsp; He was a man of few words, he loved quietly, protected fiercely, worked hard, and played harder.&nbsp; Larry was a wonderful provider, loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and husband.&nbsp; His ornery half smile, chuckle and dry sense of humor stayed with everyone until the very end, even when his body was failing.&nbsp; Larry will be missed dearly by all who know him.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Survivors include his wife, Trish of North Platte, NE; two children, Lisa (Mark) Mullinax of Wamego, Kansas, and Adam (Denise) Liljestrand of Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Kyle (Kelly) Weishaar of Topeka, Kansas, Connor Liljestrand of Bertrand, Nebraska, Haley Mullinax of Wamego, Kansas, Lily Liljestrand of Omaha, Nebraska, and Alyvia Liljestrand of Omaha, Nebraska; one great grandchild, Jason Weishaar of Topeka, Kansas; and numerous other family members and friends. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marie Duis. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, Nebraska Chapter and online condolences can be made at www.adamsswanson.com. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Funeral services will be held at Harvest Christian Fellowship on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at the Gaslin Cemetery in Brady, Nebraska.&nbsp; Visitation will be from noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2020 with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.&nbsp; Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home at 421 West 4th Street in North Platte, NE is in charge of arrangements.

Eleanor Leona (Pieper) Grabouski, ­­age 90, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2020.&nbsp; Faith-filled, patient, kind, gracious, hospitable, an encourager, a prayer warrior, a good listener, loving wife, nurturing mother, grandmother &amp; great grandmother--all of these describe Eleanor. &nbsp;She loved the Lord with all her heart and lived a life reflecting Him. “As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12.&nbsp; With her beautiful penmanship, Eleanor wrote so many cards, notes and letters of encouragement. &nbsp;She brightened our days with singing, and saw the best in others.

Eleanor was the fourth of 5 children born September 23, 1929 to William and Dora Pieper of Beatrice, Nebraska.&nbsp; She grew up on the family farm and attended country school.&nbsp; Following her graduation from Beatrice High School in 1945, she worked for Beatrice Medical Group as a receptionist.&nbsp; Eleanor married Philip Grabouski on March 28, 1948 at a country church, Emmaus Lutheran, where she was also baptized and confirmed.&nbsp; They farmed south of Beatrice, moving to North Platte, NE in 1957 after Philip accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Agronomy for the University of Nebraska.&nbsp; Their marriage was blessed with 8 children—Jan, Joy, Jeff, Jill, Julie, Jody, Jim &amp; John, arriving over eleven and a half years.

Eleanor was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church for nearly 60 years.&nbsp; After her children were grown, she served as a teacher’s aide at Our Redeemer School for 9 years.&nbsp; She enjoyed traveling with husband Philip in retirement.&nbsp; After husband Phil's passing in 2015 she relocated to Legacy Estates in Lincoln, NE, where she was given loving care.

Eleanor is survived by her children-Jan (Les Ravenscroft of North Platte, NE), Joy (Jay Callahan of Lincoln, NE), Jeff of San Diego, CA, Jill (Michael Jank of Lincoln), Julie (Rich Weese of Kansas City, MO), Jody (Russ Brown of Arlington, TX), Jim (Jacque Patterson of Sioux City, IA) and John Grabouski of Lincoln NE; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grand children; brothers Dale (Janice) &nbsp;&amp; Norman (Bernadine) Pieper.&nbsp; 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband &amp; siblings Harvey (infant,) Esther Totsch, Arlen Pieper and great-grandbaby, Josiah Jank. &nbsp;

Mrs. LaDonna Ann Perlinger, 81, of North Platte, died August 7, 2020 at UNMC in Omaha, NE.

She was born on August 17, 1939 in Madrid, NE to Virgil and Margaret Johnson. She was raised in Madrid, NE where she grew up and attended Madrid High School.

LaDonna was united in marriage to Larry Perlinger on October 20, 1962 at Grant, NE. They lived in Madrid and Grant before moving to North Platte. To this union, they had three children: Garret, Vincent, and Anna. She loved being a homemaker and was on the go visiting with friends and spending time with family.

She embraced her Catholic Faith where she was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Marriage encounter, Charismatic Prayer Group and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include her children, Vincent and Anna Perlinger; grandson, Garrett Theiler; granddaughter, Shayla (Samuel) Dunn; sisters, Shirley (Bob) McCormick, Noni (Don) Thiesen, Marlene Mohr and brother in law, Dale McCollam, and many nieces and nephews.

LaDonna is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Perlinger; son, Garret Perlinger; sister, Linda McCollam; granddaughter, Amanda Theiler.

Caitlin Jo Murphy, 26, of North Platte, passed away August 11, 2020 at her home.&nbsp; She was born on August 2, 1994 to Ronald Dean Murphy and Alicea Renea Silos.

Caitlin graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 2014. She worked at McDonald’s for several years, Casey’s and had currently been working at the Opportunity Center.

Caitlin was a kind hearted, loving person who was always going out of her way to help others.&nbsp; She made friends everywhere she went. She was a very caring and loving mother.

Survivors include 3 children, Camden, Rylan and Teagan; father, Ronald D. Murphy Jr. (Julie Niles) of North Platte; mother, Alicea Silos (Michael Renfroe) of Hastings; siblings Cassandra Murphy of Maxwell. Caitlin Jo Murphpy (1994-2020)

Doris D. Miller, 84, passed away August 10, 2020, at her home in Hershey.&nbsp; She was born November 17, 1935, in Campo, CO, to John and Floice (Caudle) Dixon as the second of six children.&nbsp; She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior as a child.&nbsp; After attending teaching college in Goodwell, OK, she moved to Plains, KS, to begin her teaching career at age 19.&nbsp; On March 16, 1958, she was united in marriage to Vernon Lee Miller.&nbsp; After 20 years in Kansas, the family moved to Nebraska in 1978.&nbsp; Through her life, Doris was mother to two, grandmother to eight, foster mother to seven, and mother/grandmother figure to numerous others.

Doris taught school for Kismet Public Schools, Kismet, KS, and Wallace Public Schools, Wallace, NE, teaching grades 2 and 4.&nbsp; She taught for 44 years and touched many lives before retiring.&nbsp; She had many hobbies, including but not limited to painting, silversmithing, gardening, reading, and decorating.&nbsp; Doris loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and dedicated her life to serving God and being a witness to others.&nbsp; She was an active member of her church communities: Campo Baptist Church, Kismet Baptist Church, Wallace Methodist Church, and Bethel Evangelical Free Church.

Doris D. Miller  (1935-2020)

William Boyd Mathews was born April 14, 1927, in rural Chase County, to William M. and Edna Marie (Bremer) Mathews.&nbsp; In his young years he grew up in rural Chase County attending rural District #10 grade school. Boyd (as he was known) went on to graduate from Chase County High School in 1945.&nbsp; After graduation Boyd was turned down from the serving during WWII because of his hearing, and took an opportunity to attend Colorado A&amp;M on a track scholarship.&nbsp; He returned to Chase County after his graduation and began his long career in farming. Boyd married Joan A. Monasmith on December 26, 1950, in Holyoke Colorado, and the couple settled on the family farm nine miles west of Imperial.&nbsp; Raising their family and farming became their life long ambitions until retirement.&nbsp; Boyd and Joan retired and made Imperial their home. Boyd passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020, at the Imperial Manor and Parkview View Heights Care Center, Imperial.&nbsp; He was 93 years of age. Kenneth Frank Rider was born April 7, 1957, at Imperial, Nebraska, to Eugene F. and Marilyn E (Pflum) Rider.&nbsp; In his young years, he grew up and attended school in McCook, graduating from McCook High School in 1976.&nbsp; Kenny (as he was known) participated in track and was a member of the swim team. Kenny was employed at the 7-Up Bottling Plant in McCook and worked on his grandparent’s farm near Enders, Nebraska.&nbsp; He enjoyed his time on the farm and the family cabin at Enders Reservoir.&nbsp; He especially loved to ride motorcycles, playing tennis, and spending time and caring for all the family pets.

Michael J Brunkhorst, 59, of Gothenburg, NE died August 6, 2020 as a result of an accident.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was born September 14, 1960 in Newport Beach, CA, son of Lyle and Verna Dell (Aunspaugh) Brunkhorst.&nbsp; Mike grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High with the class of 1978.&nbsp; He loved the open road and enjoyed spending time riding motorcycles and truck driving.&nbsp; He enjoyed working on his truck and was employed as an owner/operator for Jensen Trucking.&nbsp; He appreciated a good political debate and wouldn’t go anywhere without his beloved dog, Oscar.&nbsp; When he wasn’t working, he spent his free time with his kids and grandkids.

Survivors include mother, Verna Dell Brunkhorst; son, Michael Wayne (Amanda) Brunkhorst of Ogallala; daughter, Desiree Dawn (Ben) Sidders of Grand Island; 12 grandchildren;&nbsp; brother, Lyle David Brunkhorst of Mitchell; sister-in-law, Paula Brunkhorst of Mitchell; two nieces, Danielle (Jeremy) Smith, Cassie Brunkhorst; nephew, Nicholas (Brittanie) Brunkhorst.

Mike was preceded in death by father, Lyle Brunkhorst, brother, Mark Brunkhorst.

Gary Lee Snare Services 

Delmer Lee Brass, age 74, of Brady, Nebraska, died August 3, 2020 in Brady, NE.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was born on April 22, 1946 in Sargent, Nebraska, the son of Edwin M. and Ena (Worth) Brass.&nbsp; Delmer grew up in Sargent and graduated from Sargent High School.&nbsp; He then earned his Bachelors Degree from Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska.&nbsp; Delmer served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorable discharged in 1971.&nbsp; He married Carole Peterson on July 15, 1972 and they had a son, Christopher.&nbsp; Delmer lived in Kearney and McCool Junction before making his home in Gothenburg, Nebraska.&nbsp; He worked in construction for many years.&nbsp; He spend over 30 years working at the Co-Op in the farm store and fertilizer plant.&nbsp; He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and puzzles.&nbsp; He enjoyed playing Fantasy Football and cards.&nbsp; Delmer loved his family and cherished his time spent hanging out with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his son, Christopher (Kati May) Brass of Brady, Nebraska; grandchildren, Trypp and Kiana; a sister, Barbara Strong; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Delmer was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Brass in 2019; his parents; and his brothers, Ron, Ed, Larry, and Ken.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, August 9, 2020, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 Tenth Street in Gothenburg, Nebraska on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11:00 am.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Delmer will be laid to rest with his wife in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska at a later date.

 </figure>Delmer Lee Brass, age 74, of Brady, Nebraska, died August 3, 2020 in Brady, NE.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was born on April 22, 1946 in Sargent, Nebraska, the son of Edwin M. and Ena (Worth) Brass.&nbsp; Delmer grew up in Sargent and graduated from Sargent High School.&nbsp; He then earned his Bachelors Degree from Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska.&nbsp; Delmer served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorable discharged in 1971.&nbsp; He married Carole Peterson on July 15, 1972 and they had a son, Christopher.&nbsp; Delmer lived in Kearney and McCool Junction before making his home in Gothenburg, Nebraska.&nbsp; He worked in construction for many years.&nbsp; He spend over 30 years working at the Co-Op in the farm store and fertilizer plant.&nbsp; He enjoyed woodworking, gardening and puzzles.&nbsp; He enjoyed playing Fantasy Football and cards.&nbsp; Delmer loved his family and cherished his time spent hanging out with his grandchildren.Survivors include his son, Christopher (Kati May) Brass of Brady, Nebraska; grandchildren, Trypp and Kiana; a sister, Barbara Strong; along with many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.Delmer was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Brass in 2019; his parents; and his brothers, Ron, Ed, Larry, and Ken.Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, August 9, 2020, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm.Funeral Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 Tenth Street in Gothenburg, Nebraska on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11:00 am.&nbsp;&nbsp;Delmer will be laid to rest with his wife in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska at a later date.Memorials may be given to the family to be used for the Nurses at Gothenburg Health. to sign the online guest book, go to www.blasestrauser.com.

Rollie H. Brown, 96, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died August 3, 2020 in North Platte, NE.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was born December 10, 1923 in Randolph County, MO, son of Onie and Parlee Mae (Harvey) Brown.&nbsp; Rollie spent his early years in MO.&nbsp; He grew up mostly in NE, worked for a while in CA and returned to NE when he thought he would be drafted and worked for Cozad area farmers.&nbsp; 

On June 10, 1944 he married Dorothy Dyer at Phillipsburg, KS.&nbsp; The couple had four children - Leslie, Daniel, Louise, and Bonnie.&nbsp; He had a deep love for farming the farming way of life.&nbsp; He enjoyed demonstrating hand corn picking to school children.&nbsp; &nbsp;In his later years, he enjoyed restoring antique John Deere tractors.&nbsp; He was a member of the National Antique Tractor Pullers, and was awarded Puller of the Year in 1999.&nbsp; Rollie was always up for adventure and when he was 92 he participated in the Open Road Challenge up by Arnold.&nbsp; &nbsp;

Survivors include two daughters, Louise Diehl of Huron, SD, Bonnie (John) McCarthy of Denton, TX; two sons, Leslie (Diane) Brown of Gothenburg; Dan Brown of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren - Todd, Mary, Lisa, Scott, Jason, Lloyd, Larry, Lynette, Leon, Craig, Crystal, and Curtis; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; brothers Charles (June), John (Elaine), Harold (Susie) along with many extended family and many friends.&nbsp;

Rollie was preceded in death by wife, Dorothy E. Brown in 2014, his parents; sisters, Violet, Viola, Josie, Alberta, and Nettie; his son-in-law David Diehl; daughter-in-law Rebecca Brown.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Friday, August 7, 2020, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. with the family present from 10 am to Noon.&nbsp; Masks are recommended.&nbsp;

Johnny Dishman (1961-2020)

Margaret Ann Call, 83, of North Platte passed away July 31, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.&nbsp; She was born December 16, 1936 at North Platte, NE, Nebraska to Robert and Inez (Sutherland) Gibbs.

On May 1, 1954 she was united in marriage to Donald E. Call: to this union 3 children were born.&nbsp; She was a homemaker earlier in life until Donald’s passing on April 14, 1991.&nbsp; She then worked for Walmart as a cashier for 15 years before retirement.

Margaret was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary where she volunteered for many years for various events, luncheons and social gatherings.&nbsp; She was also on the Eagles Shuffleboard Team.&nbsp; She was a member of RSVP and enjoyed socializing at the Senior Center.&nbsp; She also loved car rides around the lake and to the park in her spare time.

Survivors include her sons, Joseph Call and Patrick (Kathy) Call; and daughter, Linda Getchell; grandchildren, Harmoni (John) Wagner, Kathy Moses, Chrissie (Jason) Jean, Donald (Malinda) Bristol and Robert, Kristopher, Stephen and Nicholas Call; 26 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren with one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; sisters, Betty Nolan-Dutemple and Roberta Cris; brother, Robert Gibbs; daughter-in-law, Barbara Call; granddaughter, Angela Miller; and special friend, Donzel Nielsen.

Lynne Marie Empfield, 68 of North Platte, passed away at her home on July 27th 2020.

She was born March 22nd, 1952.&nbsp; In North Platte, NE. to James and Dorothy Empfield.&nbsp; She had 2 older siblings Patricia Stull and Ron (little Ron) Empfield.&nbsp; Lynne attended Jefferson grade school and North Platte Sr. high.

In 1970 she married Oliver Dawson.&nbsp; From this union came 3 children.&nbsp; 2 infant sons who would die shortly after birth; Brian Paul and Richie Allen and a 3rd son Timothy James.

In 1983 she moved to Denver, CO. where she worked at the Golden Probation Dept. and was married to Jeff Brodbeck.&nbsp; She enjoyed going to the mountains and camping while there.&nbsp; She moved back to North Platte in 1992.&nbsp; Working and enjoying life until she moved to Hastings in 1997. She lived there until the mid-2000 and came back "home" to North Platte for the remainder of her life.

She loved spending time with her family and close friends.&nbsp; Robert and Pat Schimek and Connie Guerra.&nbsp; Lynne loved them dearly.

She also had a "crush" on Willie Nelson and loved every song he sang. Seeing him in concert a handful of times and even getting to meet him in person as well.&nbsp; She also enjoyed collecting "pigs" of all sizes and shapes and they adorned her home.

Lynne loved all animals, especially cats and will be leaving behind her cat, best friend and snuggle buddy, Stanley.

Lynne is survived by her son,Timothy Dawson (Louann Goff) North Platte; sister, Patricia Stull of Georgia; Sisters in law, Susie Empfield Dowhower of North Platte, Twila Dawson of Phoenix; cousin, in law Bill Millison (Colleen) of North Platte; as well as her longtime loving friends Robert and Pat Schimek of North Platte; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

She was preceded to the hereafter by her parents, James and Dorothy Empfield; brother Ronald Empfield; cousins Ron (Big Ron) Empfield , Colleen Millison (Empfield); and 2 infant son's Brian Paul and Richie Allen; and loving friend Connie Guerra of North Platte. Lynne will be remembered by her enjoyment of life and the many paths taken in her journey.

Lynne Marie Empfield (1952-2020)

The world lost a man with one of the biggest hearts, Anthony “Tony” Charles Snyder, 49 of Broken Bow on August 1, 2020.&nbsp; Tony was born Christmas day in 1970 in North Platte, NE.&nbsp; He lived his preschool years in Stapleton. He went on to be a 1989 graduate of Broken Bow High School and later the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a degree in business.&nbsp; Tony started working at Sloggett’s Dairy Corner while in high school which led to jobs at Fast Freddy’s, Thomas Livestock, Bow Agency, Cedars Richardson House, Trotter’s Whoa and Go, and Huckleberry’s Restaurant.&nbsp; He was a huge Harley Davidson fan and loved going to Sturgis.&nbsp; He had a passion for cars, motorcycles, guns, his dogs, and his Hot Wheels collection.

He changed many peoples’ lives in positive ways and would do anything he could to help others.&nbsp; His generous nature was obvious to all especially when he offered his home for many to live in.&nbsp; He thought of others before himself.&nbsp; He was such a delight to be around, never dwelling on his own pain but rather making light of it.

Tony was a real people person.&nbsp; He enjoyed making people laugh and for some he turned out to be a true mentor in their lives.&nbsp; While his college degree was in business, his job at Cedars Richardson House may have exhibited his true gift of mentoring youth.&nbsp; He truly loved every aspect of his job there.&nbsp; He was a role model to the teenagers that lived in the house.&nbsp; He was not afraid to show “tough love” and many have said that Tony honestly enabled them to turn their lives around.&nbsp; Tony could talk to anyone, he did not judge people, and was easily loved by all that met him.&nbsp; In fact, a teacher of his once said that many students of hers were likeable but Tony was loveable!

Tony was born with a bone disease that resulted in the need for multiple joint replacements and early arthritis.&nbsp; In addition to the bone disease, he also found himself in need of a kidney transplant due to a genetic kidney disease.&nbsp; In June 2014, Tony received a kidney transplant thanks to Sunshine Solaas.&nbsp; As a result of this tremendous gift of life, a profound bond was built between them.&nbsp; Sunshine became more special to Tony and his family than words can express.

Tony is survived by his mother Mary Snyder of Broken Bow; three sisters, Becky (Shawn) Burke of Sutherland, Libby (Casey) Beck of St. Paul, and Sara (Dustin) Myers of Broken Bow, brother-in-law Patrick White of Denver, CO; nieces and nephews Shelbi, Josie, and Morgan Burke and Joel, Jack, and Charlee Myers.&nbsp; Tony is also survived by some significant friends that he considered true family members.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his father, David Snyder and brother, Matt Snyder.&nbsp;

Tony fought a good fight as his body failed him.&nbsp; His heart of gold, jolly spirit, and lifetime of courage, strength, and bravery are an inspiration to all that knew him.&nbsp; Being a part of his life was a blessing and he will be missed tremendously as many hearts are broken by his passing.&nbsp;&nbsp;

We can’t wait to see your smiling face on the streets of heaven!

 </figure>The world lost a man with one of the biggest hearts, Anthony “Tony” Charles Snyder, 49 of Broken Bow on August 1, 2020.&nbsp; Tony was born Christmas day in 1970 in North Platte, NE.&nbsp; He lived his preschool years in Stapleton. He went on to be a 1989 graduate of Broken Bow High School and later the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a degree in business.&nbsp; Tony started working at Sloggett’s Dairy Corner while in high school which led to jobs at Fast Freddy’s, Thomas Livestock, Bow Agency, Cedars Richardson House, Trotter’s Whoa and Go, and Huckleberry’s Restaurant.&nbsp; He was a huge Harley Davidson fan and loved going to Sturgis.&nbsp; He had a passion for cars, motorcycles, guns, his dogs, and his Hot Wheels collection.He changed many peoples’ lives in positive ways and would do anything he could to help others.&nbsp; His generous nature was obvious to all especially when he offered his home for many to live in.&nbsp; He thought of others before himself.&nbsp; He was such a delight to be around, never dwelling on his own pain but rather making light of it.Tony was a real people person.&nbsp; He enjoyed making people laugh and for some he turned out to be a true mentor in their lives.&nbsp; While his college degree was in business, his job at Cedars Richardson House may have exhibited his true gift of mentoring youth.&nbsp; He truly loved every aspect of his job there.&nbsp; He was a role model to the teenagers that lived in the house.&nbsp; He was not afraid to show “tough love” and many have said that Tony honestly enabled them to turn their lives around.&nbsp; Tony could talk to anyone, he did not judge people, and was easily loved by all that met him.&nbsp; In fact, a teacher of his once said that many students of hers were likeable but Tony was loveable!Tony was born with a bone disease that resulted in the need for multiple joint replacements and early arthritis.&nbsp; In addition to the bone disease, he also found himself in need of a kidney transplant due to a genetic kidney disease.&nbsp; In June 2014, Tony received a kidney transplant thanks to Sunshine Solaas.&nbsp; As a result of this tremendous gift of life, a profound bond was built between them.&nbsp; Sunshine became more special to Tony and his family than words can express.Tony is survived by his mother Mary Snyder of Broken Bow; three sisters, Becky (Shawn) Burke of Sutherland, Libby (Casey) Beck of St. Paul, and Sara (Dustin) Myers of Broken Bow, brother-in-law Patrick White of Denver, CO; nieces and nephews Shelbi, Josie, and Morgan Burke and Joel, Jack, and Charlee Myers.&nbsp; Tony is also survived by some significant friends that he considered true family members.&nbsp;He was preceded in death by his father, David Snyder and brother, Matt Snyder.&nbsp;Tony fought a good fight as his body failed him.&nbsp; His heart of gold, jolly spirit, and lifetime of courage, strength, and bravery are an inspiration to all that knew him.&nbsp; Being a part of his life was a blessing and he will be missed tremendously as many hearts are broken by his passing.&nbsp;&nbsp;We can’t wait to see your smiling face on the streets of heaven!In lieu of flowers, memorials in Tony’s name are kindly suggested to the PKD Foundation or Live On Nebraska (Donate Life Nebraska) in care of Govier Brothers Mortuary at 542 South 9th&nbsp;Ave&nbsp;&nbsp; Broken Bow&nbsp; NE&nbsp;&nbsp; 68822.Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Broken Bow with Father Jim Hunt officiating, face masks are required.&nbsp; The service will be livestreamed at&nbsp;<a href="http://www.govierbrothers.com/">www.govierbrothers.com</a>. Anthony 'Tony' Charles Snyder (1970-2020)

Theodore “Ted” Albert Hanich, 99, of Dunning, Nebraska passed away July 30, 2020 in Broken Bow, Nebraska.&nbsp; 

He was born in North Platte, Nebraska on January 8, 1921, the second child of Karl Frederick and Bertha Luecke Hanich.&nbsp; He attended Sutherland Schools thru 8th&nbsp;Grade.&nbsp; His family attended the Sutherland Lutheran Church.&nbsp; Ted farmed with his dad until the age of 21 when he began his service in the US Army on August 10, 1942.&nbsp; Ted served nearly 4 years in World War II and was stationed in New Guinea, and other locations in the South Pacific Islands.&nbsp; He was a sergeant in the 836th Engineer Aviation Battalion. &nbsp; As an Aviation Engineer, he helped build runways for the fighter planes and later ran the motor pool due to his skill with farm tractors and diesel engines.&nbsp; He was awarded a Bronze Star.

When he returned from the service, Ted and his brother Bob, bought their dad's farm south of Sutherland and some surrounding land, and continued farming.&nbsp; Ted’s first wife, Barbara Ann (Mahaffie) Hanich passed tragically in July 1964.

In 1957, Ted moved to a ranch in Dunning and along with his brother continued their partnership in agri-business.&nbsp; Ted was a cattle rancher and raised calves while his brother, Bob, grew corn and ran the feedlot operations.&nbsp; &nbsp;The Hanich Brothers partnership was mutually beneficial.&nbsp; &nbsp;Ted never met a stranger and loved to talk about cows and always knew the current prices of cattle, tractors, or corn.&nbsp; His beloved horse named John was his favorite and he often told stories about how that horse would stand still anywhere he dropped the reins and wait for him to return.&nbsp;&nbsp;

On October 16, 1966, he married Glenna LouRae Tunnell at the Presbyterian Church in Stapleton, Nebraska.&nbsp; He and LouRae have been married for 53 years.&nbsp; Ted was a member of Open Bible Church, participating in all aspects of the church, including being a Sunday school teacher and serving on the church board.&nbsp; He was a devout Christian, an honest man, and he loved to read the Bible.&nbsp; He loved to sing and often picked out his favorite songs for church.&nbsp; Ted and LouRae sold the Hanich Ranch in 2008 and retired in Dunning, Nebraska

Survivors include his wife, LouRae Hanich of Dunning; a Sister-in-law Geniece (Arlan) Helmick of Broken Bow; Nieces, Joni Alexia, Holly Helmick and Kerry Helmick; A nephew’s family Kurt (Julie) Tunnell; and a nephew, Dennis Rosenblad.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Ruth Rosenblad and Roberta Hanich; and a brother Bob Hanich; his first wife Barbara Hanich, his brother-in-law and wife Adair (MaryEllen) Tunnell and his nephew Kurtis Tunnell.

Theodore 'Ted' Albert Hanich (1921-2020)

Donita Mae (Smith) Ferguson passed away at Brookestone View on July 27, 2020. 

Donita was born to Ray Clinton Smith and Cora Opal (Burns) Smith on September 19, 1926 on a farm northeast of Sargent, Nebraska.&nbsp; She joined older sister Hazel and later the family welcomed younger sister Emma Lou.&nbsp; Her family moved to Weissert when she was 3 years old and to a farm outside of Broken Bow when she was 5 years old.&nbsp; She attended all of her schooling in Broken Bow graduating with the class of 1943.&nbsp; This same year she started her bookkeeping career at J.H. Melville Lumber Company.&nbsp; It was while she was working at Melville’s that she would walk pass Clyde Arnold’s Feed store to have lunch downtown.&nbsp; She noticed a young man, Ivan E. Ferguson who was often outside loading feed when she passed by and it was not long before she engaged him in conversation.&nbsp; This friendship grew and on July 3, 1946 Ivan and Donita were married in Long Pine, Nebraska.&nbsp; They often said this one-day trip with best friends, Lyle and Lucille VanHorn was the favorite day of their lifetime.&nbsp; Ivan and Donita welcomed 4 children to their family, Barbara Rae, Opal Marie, Nancy Ann and Ivan Eugene Jr.

Donita and Ivan spent all of their lives enjoying the activities of their family.&nbsp; Whether it was helping their kids with their 4-H projects, school involvements, church activities or extended family gatherings they had fun.&nbsp; Many weekends and vacations were spent tent camping as a family.&nbsp; One of Donita and Ivan’s favorite things to do was dance.&nbsp; If there was a dance, especially during the big band era, Ivan and Donita would be there.&nbsp; Even with the responsibilities of a family of 6 Donita continued working outside the home.&nbsp; Besides working at Melville’s, she also worked as a bookkeeper for Broken Bow Credit Bureau and J.C. Penneys.&nbsp; Donita completed her employment years managing the Messages Hallmark Shop for 20 years for her daughter, Nancy.&nbsp; Donita loved her time at Messages making many new friends with the customers.&nbsp; Throughout her life Donita was active in American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Broken Bow Alumni, and the First Baptist Church where she was a lifetime member.&nbsp; She especially enjoyed the monthly “Birthday Group” of friends Jean, Marion, Phyllis, Dona, Toni, Shirley, and Ann. They shared a lifetime of memories and laughter.&nbsp; After her children were grown Donita spent the same time and energy with her grandchildren as she had with her own children and in her later years with her great grandchildren.

Donita was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan; daughter Barbara; sister Hazel (Dick) Kapustka; sister Emma Lou Clay; as well as Ivan’s siblings and spouses. She will be missed by her children Opal, Nancy and Ivan Jr. &amp; Gary Babbitt, Grandchildren and Great grandchildren Corrina Duryea (Andrew and Preston); Carla &amp; Chuck Davis (Alexandria, Scott); Carey &amp; Jim Haskell (Meredith, Jace and Amy); Carlie &amp; Kim Wells (Cyrus, Connor, Cal, Cobe); Carmen &amp; Anson Bumgarner (Sawyer and Ida Mae); as well as 9 great great grandchildren.

A private immediate family service will be Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow.&nbsp; The service will be livestreamed at&nbsp;<a href="http://www.govierbrothers.com/">www.govierbrothers.com</a>&nbsp;.&nbsp; Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery.&nbsp; Memorials are suggested to the Custer County Ag Society.
