On November 11, 2023, at the age of 71, Weston "Wes" Andre-Henn peacefully passed away at his home in North Platte, NE.

Wes was born July 17, 1952, to John and Ruth Henn in Bethlehem, PA, where he grew up. &nbsp;He graduated from Liberty High School then received his B.A. from Mansfield State College in Pennsylvania and later, his Master's Degree from Kearney State Teaching College. &nbsp;

Wes had a long career in teaching and being a school counselor for North Platte Public Schools. He was also past president of the N.P. Teachers Association.

In 1992, Wes married Krysten Andre in North Platte where they made their home together. &nbsp; &nbsp;

Wes was kind and giving. &nbsp;He was a longtime blood donor and loved reading and walking barefoot on the beach. &nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jackie; and brother-in-law, Dale Koch.

Wes is survived by his wife, Krysten Andre-Henn, and parents-in-law, Bernard and Sharen Andre, and sister-in-law, Michelle Andre, all of North Platte; brothers-in-law, Michael (Kathy) Andre, of Beaverton, OR, Terry (Shelly) Andre of Lincoln and David (Brenda) Andre of Madison Lake, MN; his sister, Beverly Koch of Bethlehem, PA; and other family.

Barbara J. Harrop, 88, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away peacefully on Friday, November 10, 2023 at The Maples at Centennial Park Nursing Home.

Barbara was born on December 12, 1934 in North Platte, NE the daughter of John A. and Hazel A. (Johnasen) Hupfer.

Barb graduated from North Platte high school and lived for most of her life in North Platte except for 12 years in Colorado. She was married briefly and had two daughters, Caroline and Elaine. She met her 2nd husband Russell W. Harrop, and they were married on August 1, 1968 in Blair, NE. Russell passed away on March 25, 1993. Barb worked for a short time as a waitress in various local restaurants and in local school cafeterias. She was quite a character who spoke her mind and was known for her fiery red hair in her younger years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in North Platte, North Platte Moose Lodge Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary. Her greatest love was animals, especially her beloved dogs and cats.

Those left to cherish Barb’s memory are daughters, Caroline Kiger and Elaine Leighton; 3 grandchildren; brothers, Tom Hupfer (Bobbie Sue) of Arkansas, and Richard Hupfer (Julie) of North Platte; as well as many special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Hazel Hupfer; husband, Russell; infant sister, Caroline Hupfer; and brother, John Hupfer.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the North Platte City Cemetery. Visitation and viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services on Wednesday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Ternie was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a past Board Member of Healing Hearts and Families. Ternie loved flowers, especially roses. She also enjoyed rodeo and horses.

Ternie was preceded in death by her husband Laron Wright, and parent James and Betty Caulfield.

Ternie is survived by her children: Tony (Stephanie) Wright of Merna, Tresa (Steve) Bass of Brewster, and Timothy (Heather) Wright of Broken Bow; grandchildren: Griffin and Gavin Wright, Ty and Cooper Bass, Owen and Colin Wright; brother Richard (Linda) Caulfield; special friends: Gary and Deb Crawford and family, and Catharine Nelson; nieces and nephews.

Ternie Wright (1948-2023)

Henrietta Mae Blue, 97, departed from this life on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Highland Park Care Center in Alliance, Nebraska.&nbsp;

Henrietta Mae Blue was born October 7, 1926, in Sutherland, Nebraska, the daughter of Ira and Florence (VanMeter) Huffman.

Henrietta attended rural school District 8 in Arthur County through the eighth grade. She attended Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis for her first two years of high school and then attended North Platte High School, where she graduated in 1944. She was employed with several businesses, including Ely-Hoppe Lumber Co. in North Platte from 1949-1952. In 1952, Henrietta was chosen as Miss Buffalo Bill Rodeo Queen at North Platte.

On October 19, 1952, Henrietta was united in marriage to Roy B. O’Mara. The couple resided on the Spade Ranch near Ellsworth, Nebraska, where they were employed by Lawrence Bixby. In February 1953, they moved to the Swan Lake Ranch in Arthur County. A few months later, they moved to the east part of Swan Lake Ranch and resided on the Parsons, located in McPherson County. They were there until December 1957, when they returned to Swan Lake. Four children were born to Roy and Henrietta: Connie, William, Patrick, and Randy.

After Roy passed away in July of 1978, Henrietta continued to manage the ranch until 1988 when she then moved to Ogallala, Nebraska. After moving away from the ranch life, she was employed as a housekeeper for Lowel “Buck” Barrett and then later on as a cook for Haythorn Land &amp; Cattle Company at Ackley Valley from 1989 to 1991.

On June 6, 1992, Henrietta was united in marriage to Kenneth Blue and was married for 24 years. In January 2017, Henrietta moved to Alliance to be closer to her family. She continued to live by herself in an apartment until July 2023, when she moved to Highland Park Care Center.

Ranch life was Henrietta’s greatest desire, working both in the home and outdoors. She enjoyed cooking as well as all the duties involved with ranch life. She especially loved her milk cows and chickens. Henrietta loved helping and taking care of people.

Henrietta attended the Methodist Church in North Platte, Arthur Baptist Church, Ogallala St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Alliance Methodist Church, and Lakeside Church. Henrietta was a member of the Helping Hand Club and Does Drove #252.

Henrietta loved following her grandchildren, Megan Messersmith and Rory de Ganahl to their school activities and later following her great-grandchildren in their school and 4-H activities.

Preceding her in death were her parents, both husbands, brother Marvin Huffman and wife Loree, sister Emma Melvin and husband DeWayne, son William (Dr. Bill), nephew Wayne Melvin, niece Carol Moran and nephew Jim Huffman.

She is survived by her daughter Connie (Chris) de Ganahl of Lakeside Nebraska, son Pat (Pam) O’Mara of Glendale, Arizona, and son Randy O’Mara of Mitchell, Nebraska. Grandchildren: Megan (Tyler) Messersmith of Hayes Center, Nebraska, and Rory (Kelsey) de Ganahl of Lakeside, Nebraska. Great grandchildren: Ava, June, Paige and Brooke Messersmith, Margot and Roger de Ganahl, and all her special nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 20th, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at The Arthur Baptist Church in Arthur, Nebraska. Pastor Greg Reed of Lakeside Methodist Church of Lakeside, Nebraska, and Rev. Blake Wilkes of Arthur Baptist Church of Arthur, Nebraska will be officiating.

Inurnment will take place on Monday, November 20th, 2023 in the Arthur Cemetery in Arthur, Nebraska.

Thomas "Tom" Bailey of North Platte passed away November 8, 2023, at Great Plains Health at the age of 63.

Tom was born December 14, 1959, to Cecil and Kathleen Bailey at North Platte, where he grew up. &nbsp;After graduating from NPHS in 1978, Tom moved to Philadelphia for a while then returned to North Platte. &nbsp;He worked at Cash-Wa Distributing then hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad and retired as an Engineer.

On June 20, 1989, Tom married Yvonne Kay Ahrens in North Platte where they resided and raised a family. &nbsp;Tom enjoyed fishing and following his kids in their various activities. &nbsp;He is gone too soon and will be forever loved and missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen and Cecil, and brothers, Mike and Greg Bailey.

Tom is survived by his wife, Yvonne, children, Drew and Kyla Bailey, and brothers, Pat Bailey (Wende) and Kelley Bailey (Janean Dorram), all of North Platte; his sisters, Brenda Deertz (Neil) of North Platte, Lisa Johns (Mark) of Chicago and Sharyl Poletti (Dave) of Philadelphia; as well as other family.

Tom Bailey (1959-2023)

Ruth E. Fagot, 94, of McCook, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at the Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Nebraska with her loving family by her side.

She was born on November 22, 1928, in Milford, Nebraska to Roland and Harriet (Weaver) Miller. Ruth graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1946. She then moved on to complete two years at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. On April 10, 1949, Ruth was united in marriage to Francis Fagot in Milford, Nebraska. Three children were blessed to this union: Kathy, Annette, and Craig. The family made their home north of Lexington where Ruth focused her efforts on caring for the home and raising their children.

Ruth had many hobbies including knitting, sewing, creating beautiful art work and reading. She loved getting to spend time at Johnson Lake with her family and friends where she could do some yoga and work on her journaling. Ruth was also a faithful member of many organizations including the Chapter GR P.E.O., Studio 25, The Lexington Painting Club, ART Club, Bridge and Supper Club. Ruth was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Lexington.

Those left to celebrate her life are her children, Kathy (Mike) Hockley of Overland Park, Kansas, Annette (Russ) Eisenhart of Culbertson, Nebraska, Craig Forester (Sarah Darby) of Omaha, Nebraska; sister-in-law, Virgene Forest of Denton, Texas, grandchildren, Chris Hockley (Claire Sheahan), Anne (Ira) Crofford, John (Abbie) Eisenhart, Ben (Bonnie) Eisenhart, Andrea Eisenhart, and Rachel Forester; great-grandchildren, Simon, Josephine, Nell, Nolan, Georgette, Samuel, Beau, and Paige.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Fagot.

She met the love of her life, Garey Wagner Hencey, in 1957.&nbsp; They married on January 19, 1958.&nbsp; Together, they were blessed with six children.&nbsp; Their life adventure took them to many places, including Oregon, California, Florida and Colorado.

Carol loved being a wife and mother.&nbsp; She dedicated her life to serving others.&nbsp;

She enjoyed celebrating any special day or event with family.&nbsp; She particularly enjoyed going to all of their sports events.&nbsp; Carol had a unique gift of creating beautiful handmade crafts, which she gifted to many.

Carol’s Christian faith was an essential part of her life.&nbsp; She loved Jesus and lived a life full of the fruits of the spirit: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, and Gentleness.

Carol is survived by her children Ron, Mike, Michelle, Brenda, Brad and Pam, 12 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.

Lareen M. Jacobson, 93, of North Platte, NE passed away on November 8th at the Mount Carmel – Keens Memorial Home in Kearney, NE.

Lareen was born to Henry L. and Mary (Moore) Wiest on September 4, 1930, in Hazard, NE.&nbsp;

Lareen graduated from Kearney High School in 1947 and worked for several years as a secretary with Consumers Public Power. She married Wes Jacobson on July 25, 1953, in Kearney, NE at St. James Catholic Church and together they were blessed with and raised four sons: Jon, Tom, Dan, and Doug. Lareen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker for most of her life. She and Wes started their married life together in Kearney but then lived in North Platte for approximately five years until Wes was transferred to McCook in the early 1960’s. They also lived in Ogallala for six years before moving back to North Platte in 1972. Lareen was a devout Catholic and member of Holy Spirit Catholic parish in North Platte and she enjoyed canning hundreds of pints of vegetables from their garden every year. Lareen also enjoyed baking, sewing, painting ceramics, and traveling in their RV, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish Lareen’s memory are her four sons: Jon Jacobson of North Platte, Tom (his wife Ann) Jacobson of North Platte, Dan (his wife Stephanie) Jacobson of Overland Park, KS, and Doug (his wife Joan) Jacobson of Kuna, ID; 11 grandchildren: Patrick and his wife, Caitlyn, Rebecca and her husband, Andy Miller, Austin and his wife, Rachel, Brian, Courtney, Ashley, Danielle and her husband Alex Verdoni, Erin and her husband Noah Stolz, Danielle and her husband Blake Seever, Karli and her husband Matt Trudeau, Lindsey and Molly; great-grandchildren: Gracie, Jacob, and Owen Miller (Rebecca), Cecelia, Azelia, and Gianna Jacobson (Austin) and Jesse Seever (Danielle); and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Broken Bow, NE – Barbara Pomplun age 90 of Broken Bow, NE passed away November 7, 2023, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, NE

Barbara Jean "Barb" Pomplun, 90, of Broken Bow passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Barb was born June 21, 1933, in Grand Island, NE. to&nbsp;F.&nbsp;E. "Steve" and Naomi A. 0. "Pat" Stephenson. Steve was appointed as manager of Northwestern Bell office in Ogallala, NE and the family moved there when Barb was 2 weeks old. When Barb was 3 years old the family moved to Broken Bow when Steve was appointed manager of the Northwestern Bell office there.

Barb loved horses and at a young age got her horse, Flicka. She also loved dogs and had many in her lifetime.

Barb attended school in Broken Bow and graduated with the Class of 1951. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart David W. "Pete" Pomplun on September 21, 1952, and to this union two children Cindy and Jerry were born.

Barb was a very accomplished pianist. She accompanied the choir while in high school, many local soloists played at the Methodist Church and taught piano lessons in their home for many years.

She was a longtime member of the United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. Over the years she was very involved in Cindy and Jerry's activities, teaching Sunday School, leading Scouts, and being at all the events.

Barb's working career included secretarial and sales clerk positions. But her favorite job was with Northwestern Bell where she started after graduation as a telephone operator in Broken Bow with her Dad as her boss. She took a break when Cindy &amp; Jerry were small but went back to work with Northwestern Bell and held several different positions in Broken Bow before transferring to Omaha where she continued to work until she retired.

Barb loved spending time with her family, watching their activities, fishing, boating, gardening ' playing the piano, watching all Nebraska Cornhusker spo1ts and just being outside.

Barb is survived by daughter Cindy (Kent) Taylor of Broken Bow; son Jerry Pomplun of Oconto, NE; six grandchildren Jess (Amy) Taylor, Andy (Sadye) Taylor all of Broken Bow, Jami (Shay) Robinson of Elm Creek, NE; Shelby (Brad) Mayer of Grant NE; Micah (Jayme) Pomplun of Doniphan, NE; and Kirby (Shannon) Pomplun of Broken Bow; twenty great-grandchildren;

sister-in-law Bessie McMurtry of Lyman, NE; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Pete and her parents Steve and Pat Stephenson. Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow, NE with Pastor Phil Sloat officiating. Kim Ann Rouse, age 60, of McCook, NE passed away on Friday, November 3, 2023 in Lincoln, NE.

Kim was born May 3, 1963 in McCook to parents Rhinholdt G and Eileen Mabel (Lehl) Loose. She was one of two siblings who was raised in McCook, graduating from McCook High School with the Class of 1981.

On May 26, 1998, Kim married Terry Rouse in Las Vegas. The couple made their home in McCook where Kim worked alongside Terry at Kildare Lumber for many years. Kim loved the work trips she took with Terry, spending time with friends, music and dancing, her cat, Charlie and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Kim held a deep faith in God.

Kim was preceded in death by parents; husband, Terry Rouse; and two brothers, Randy Loose and Terry Loose.

Those left to celebrate her life include her sister in law, Cheryl Loose of Blue Springs, MO; coworkers and lifelong friends.

Ryan Earl Reeves, 58, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on November 4, 2023, at his residence. He was born in San Bernardino, California, on September 16, 1965, to loving parents, Dennis and Diana (Rogers) Reeves.

Ryan's early years were spent in Fontana, California, where he attended school and later graduated from Fontana High School. After graduating, he embarked on travels across the country. In 1985, he welcomed his daughter, Jennifer, into the world, an event that brought him immense and lasting pride.&nbsp;

One of Ryan's greatest joys was spending time with his parents, Dennis and Diana. He cherished his role as a great uncle, and enjoyed spending as much of his time with family as possible. In 2010, he made the decision to move to North Platte, where he could be closer to his beloved parents and family.&nbsp;

Ryan possessed a unique gift for storytelling, captivating those around him with his tales. Outside of social gatherings, he found pleasure in fishing, tending to gardens, and embracing the great outdoors. He was also an avid dog lover, finding solace and companionship in the company of his beloved pets.

Ryan is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lesta Chavez; his siblings, Rick Reeves, and Rochelle (Jeff) Reinhard; eight nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He leaves behind a circle of family and friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Ryan Earl Reeves (1965-2023)

On November 8, 2023, Felicitas “Phyllis” Serrano, passed away at Great Plains Health surrounded by the love of her family. &nbsp;She was born in New Braunfels, Texas, on November 2, 1933, to Gregorio and Leonarda (de la Cruz) Serrano.

Phyllis was born and raised in Texas and later moved to North Platte with her family. &nbsp;Phyllis was an outstanding aunt; she was the nurturer and mother figure to all of her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, and was a big part of the individuals they have grown into. &nbsp;Phyllis was simple; she enjoyed the pure moments spent with her family. &nbsp;She loved shopping, especially at thrift stores and always made sure to have her “bee hive” hair and nails done. &nbsp;Phyllis was the central spot for all of the family; every year on Halloween, all the kids stopped by her house to collect their homemade popcorn balls. &nbsp;She also had seamstress skills and made the girls dresses every Easter and Christmas and she loved to cook; some of the favorite dishes being cheese chili, chicken and noodles, and rice and beans.

Family that is left to carry on the memories shared with Phyllis include her brother, John Serrano of North Platte; niece, Leann Serrano of North Platte; great nephew, Brennan Serrano of North Platte; niece, Georgina Fisher of North Platte; great nieces, Erica Silos and Sydney Silos of North Platte; nephew, Shawn (Johnna) Silos of North Platte; other nieces, nephews, and family.

Felicitas "Phyllis" Serrano (1933-2023)

David Raymond Goebel, Sr., age 79, of Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2023.

David was born May 20, 1944, at Ogallala, Nebraska, to Paul and Rachelle (Fischer) Goebel. He attended Ogallala High School before entering the U.S. Navy in 1962. David proudly served his country with VAQ138, remaining active in the reserves following his honorable discharge. It was during his time in the Navy that he met his beloved wife, Carol Ann Comstock. The two were married on July 22, 1967, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Omaha, Nebraska. Their union was blessed with two children: David Jr and Shelly.

After settling in Oak Harbor, Washington, due to his Navy career, David and his family made their home in Ogallala in November of 1980. David did work of all kinds in various places, including Wendy's, before working at GasNGo.&nbsp; For 26 years, David was a familiar and friendly face at the convenience store, where his gift of gab and ready smile made him a friend to all.

David was known for his humor, and he delighted in telling Navy stories, sharing jokes, and playing the occasional prank. During his Navy days, he was often affectionately called 'George' after the comedian George Goble.

David had a generous heart that led him to give seemingly unceasingly to those in need. His experience in the Navy exposed him to the great poverty in the world, and he was never the same after that. His dedication to organizations like St. Jude Children's Hospital, Food for the Poor, and Covenant House was a testament to his love for the needy.

David is survived by his wife, Carol, of Ogallala; children, Shelly Goebel (Darrin Kilpatrick) and David Goebel Jr., both of Ogallala; grandchildren, Kirk Lunbery Jr., Sarah Lunbery, and Isaiah Goebel; and great-granddaughter, Zerah Fratis; sister, Sandra Frame of Julesburg; brother, Joseph Goebel of Las Vegas, NV; along with many other relatives and cherished friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul Jackson Goebel.

&nbsp;Sharon L. Sheffler, 76, Ogallala, NE died Monday, November 6th, 2023 at her home in Ogallala.

Lois&nbsp;Stutterheim of North Platte passed away at the North Platte Care Center on November 5, 2023, at the age of 84.

Lois was born March 30, 1939, at Lexington and raised by her mother and stepfather, Marjorie and Vernon Wells. &nbsp;She graduated from Lexington High School, then got married.

On April 4, 1957, Lois married George Deertz, Jr. in Lexington. &nbsp;Later that year they moved to North Platte and were blessed with three children: Neil, Kevin and Laurie. &nbsp;After George and Lois divorced, she married Lyle Stutterheim in 1997.

Lois worked at Joe's Dine and Dance, the North Platte Country Club and The Sands. &nbsp;She loved all animals, especially dogs.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Marjorie and Vernon Wells; her father, Carl Sorenson; and her daughter, Laurie Deertz.

Survivors include her sons, Neil Deertz (Brenda) and Kevin Deertz of North Platte; grandsons, David Deertz (Cassandra Hoang) and Ryan Deertz (Kelsey); and great-granddaughter, Hazel Deertz.

&nbsp; Darlene Mae Jens was born November 9, 1941 in Griswold, Iowa to Clarence Wayne and Lucille Irene (Harris) Way. As a child she grew up in several different cities throughout Nebraska. In 1977 Darlene moved to the Champion area to be near family. Darlene loved puzzle books and completed the Globe Puzzle every day. She loved her daily walks and was an avid card player. Pinochle, pitch, you name the game, she was a willing participant. Never sitting idle, Darlene taught her children and grandchildren a strong work ethic and bestowed a charitable spirit of giving back to the community. Darlene volunteered in a variety of different ways, even picking up trash at the fairgrounds until 2020 until her health would no longer allow. Darlene was an animal lover of all kinds but had an affinity towards cats and dogs. Darlene was President and canteen manager of the Imperial VFW for over 20 years. It is here that in 1989 she met her latest love, Kenn Shafer. A relationship that flourished throughout the years.

Darlene is survived by her longtime partner, Kenn Shafer; her children, Rick Jens, Randy Jens, Roxane (Johnny) Miller, Rory (Candy) Jens and Ryan Jens; her brothers, Willard (Judy) Way and Lee Way; her sister, Sara Myers; sister-in-law Erma Jens; 11 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Clarence Way Jr., and Ray Way; and grandson, Travis Courter.

As a youngster she grew up and attended country school in Chase County. Glenda married Jerome “Jerry” I. Lattimer on June 7, 1952, in Benkelman, Nebraska. The couple settled in San Diego, California, while Jerry served in the U.S. Navy. Glenda and Jerry then returned to Chase County and made Imperial their home. Glenda operated a home cleaning business for many years. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, and had a great passion for raising animals of all kinds. Glenda especially loved to visit and spend time with her family. Glenda passed away Sunday night, November 5, 2023, at the McCook Community Hospital, McCook, NE. Glenda was 89 years of age.

Glenda Lattimer (1934-2023)

Ruth Eloise Stout Ochsner, 97, of Grant, passed away November 4, 2023, at Ogallala.

Ruth was born on July 4, 1926, on a farmstead south of Aurora, Nebraska, to Homer and Gertrude (Thornton) Stout. The family moved to rural Perkins County, Nebraska, in 1926 when Ruth was less than a year old. Ruth attended rural grade school in Perkins County and graduated from Perkins County High School in 1942 at age 16. She earned her Normal Teacher's Training certificate and taught rural school in Perkins County for two years. She worked for the Rural Electric Association in Grant as a bookkeeper for four years. She was married to Robert Elmer Ochsner on March 30, 1947, at the Grant Methodist Church. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage until Robert passed in 2008. She was confirmed in the Grant Methodist Church in 1938 and was a member for 85 years. She served as church organist for 50 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Woman's Fellowship and a member of the ABC Home Extension Club of Grant.

Ruth served on the Perkins County High School board for one year. She worked in the Farm Bureau Insurance office in Grant for five years. She was employed by the Ogallala Medical Clinic in insurance for ten years.

Ruth was a dedicated Christian, farm wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved playing the piano and organ and singing in the church choir and various community choirs. She and Bob loved to go dancing. She, her daughter Janie, and granddaughter Analisa, enjoyed playing piano trios together. She enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, needlework, and doing jigsaw and word puzzles.

During summer evenings, she could be found playing baseball or football with her young family. She made cinnamon rolls nearly every Saturday and a pie for each Sunday dinner. She enjoyed walking and following school sports and, every Saturday afternoon, was loyal to the Husker football team on the radio. She was known for her quiet, patient, friendly, and loving manner. She had reached the age of 97 years.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, son Terry Ochsner, and brothers Lyndle Stout, Homer "Russell" Stout, Donald Stout, and Bill Stout, sisters Margaret Daiss, Doris Frerichs, Dorothy "Jean" Gloy, and Barbara "Bobby" McLean.

Ruth is survived by daughter-in-law Teresa (Terry) Ochsner of Vancouver, WA, son Randy (Cheryl) Ochsner of Hastings, NE, daughter Janie (Clifford) Colglazier of Grant, NE, son Rick (Jackie) Ochsner of Grant NE, and son Rob Ochsner of rural Ogallala, NE; sisters, Betty Miller of Evansville, IN; Beth Witt of Eugene, OR; and brother-in-law, Jack McLean of West Bend, WI. Ruth's 12 grandchildren are Jennifer Ochsner, Adam Ochsner, Andrew Ochsner, Calvin Ochsner, Shawn Maleskar, Kodie Maleskar, Ebony MacDonald, Douglas Colglazier, Timothy Colglazier, Analisa Colglazier, Micheal Ochsner, and Athena Messinger. There are 16 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She earned her Normal Teacher's Training certificate and taught rural school in Perkins County for two years. She worked for the Rural Electric Association in Grant as a bookkeeper for four years. She was married to Robert Elmer Ochsner on March 30, 1947, at the Grant Methodist Church. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage until Robert passed in 2008. She was confirmed in the Grant Methodist Church in 1938 and was a member for 85 years. She served as church organist for 50 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Woman's Fellowship and a member of the ABC Home Extension Club of Grant.Ruth served on the Perkins County High School board for one year. She worked in the Farm Bureau Insurance office in Grant for five years. She was employed by the Ogallala Medical Clinic in insurance for ten years.Ruth was a dedicated Christian, farm wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved playing the piano and organ and singing in the church choir and various community choirs. She and Bob loved to go dancing. She, her daughter Janie, and granddaughter Analisa, enjoyed playing piano trios together. She enjoyed cooking, reading, sewing, needlework, and doing jigsaw and word puzzles.During summer evenings, she could be found playing baseball or football with her young family. She made cinnamon rolls nearly every Saturday and a pie for each Sunday dinner. She enjoyed walking and following school sports and, every Saturday afternoon, was loyal to the Husker football team on the radio. She was known for her quiet, patient, friendly, and loving manner. She had reached the age of 97 years.Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, son Terry Ochsner, and brothers Lyndle Stout, Homer "Russell" Stout, Donald Stout, and Bill Stout, sisters Margaret Daiss, Doris Frerichs, Dorothy "Jean" Gloy, and Barbara "Bobby" McLean.Ruth is survived by daughter-in-law Teresa (Terry) Ochsner of Vancouver, WA, son Randy (Cheryl) Ochsner of Hastings, NE, daughter Janie (Clifford) Colglazier of Grant, NE, son Rick (Jackie) Ochsner of Grant NE, and son Rob Ochsner of rural Ogallala, NE; sisters, Betty Miller of Evansville, IN; Beth Witt of Eugene, OR; and brother-in-law, Jack McLean of West Bend, WI. Ruth's 12 grandchildren are Jennifer Ochsner, Adam Ochsner, Andrew Ochsner, Calvin Ochsner, Shawn Maleskar, Kodie Maleskar, Ebony MacDonald, Douglas Colglazier, Timothy Colglazier, Analisa Colglazier, Micheal Ochsner, and Athena Messinger. Marge Mason age 85 of Broken Bow, NE passed away November 7, 2023, at the Jennie M Melham Memorial Medical Center in Broken Bow, NE.

Marjorie “Marge” Louise Mason was born February 22, 1938, in Callaway, NE to Douglas and Mabel (Morrison) Wise. Marge grew up in the Callaway area attending Sunny Side Grade School and graduating from Callaway High School in 1955. On January 3, 1957, Marge was united in marriage to Marvin Mason. The couple lived in San Diego, CA for six years, as Marvin worked for Rohr Aircraft. Then moving to Seattle, WA for a year. Then returning to Broken Bow, NE. Marge started working at Holcomb’s Pharmacy, before going to work at the Custer County Court House from 1982 to 2007, and served as the Custer County Clerk from 1999 through 2003 .

Marge liked her horses and her cats.&nbsp; She enjoyed watching the deer and other animals.&nbsp; Marge loved her family and enjoyed watching her kid’s sports activities.&nbsp; She liked to watch volleyball, especially the Huskers.&nbsp;

Marge is survived by two sons Brett (Lisa) Mason of Bertrand and Terry Mason of Callaway, grandson Bryce (Storm) Mason, great granddaughter Allison (Cole) Gibbins of Sidney, and two great great granddaughters Stella and Rooney Mason of Kearney.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, husband Marvin, and son Dennis.

Kathy Yvonne Stark, 74, of Cozad, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, Nebraska.

 </figure>Kathy Yvonne Stark, 74, of Cozad, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg, Nebraska.She was born on June 10, 1949, in Lexington, Nebraska, the 3rd of 4 children born to Loren Leith Stark and Gaile June (Stedman) Stark. Kathy attended grade school, junior high and through her junior year at Lexington Public Schools. She then moved to Cozad where she graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1967. While in school, Kathy was in the top 10% of her class scholastically, and was head squad leader of the Cozad Pep club where she won the very first ever "yell bell" award. Her other interests included singing in choirs and small groups and playing roles in class plays.Kathy began her nursing career in the home of a Cozad resident as a companion as well as working as a candy striper at the nursing home attached to the Cozad Community Hospital after school. After graduating from High School, Kathy attended the Lincoln General Hospital School of Nursing full time for three years, graduating in 1970 with her nursing diploma and passing the Nebraska State Board of Nursing Licensure to become a registered nurse. She began her professional career at the Cozad Community Hospital before moving to Brighton, Colorado to continue expanding her work experience to include ICU and CCU, management of the candy striper program and developed a juvenile diabetes teaching program. After Colorado, Kathy returned to Nebraska to work at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney in the Coronary Intensive Care and Coronary Progressive unit. Following that, she returned to Cozad to work general duty until she became the director for the Central Plains Home and Community Health Agency based at the Cozad Hospital. With the help of an excellent team of secretarial staff, RNs, LPNs, nurses' aides, physical and occupational therapists, that agency grew to more than quadruple its services and visits.Kathy moved on to Ogallala as a director of the Sandhills District Health Department and then returned to Kearney where she expanded her nursing experience at the new Richard Young Psychiatric Hospital as an ICU charge nurse, ECT nurse specialist, and as a specialties in-service presenter. She served on joint committees between Good Samaritan and Richard Young Hospital including the initiation of Information systems and trained in Boston with the team that built the computer programs for the Good Samaritan and Richard Young staff. Following her work at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kathy moved to Lexington and began working with the Mid Nebraska Community Service in their health programs including Kids Connection and helped with public health screenings, flu shots, administration, child immunization, public education, and in-servicing.Kathy was very proud of her nursing accomplishments as well as her contribution to the cities and organizations she represented. She was selected to appear in the "who's who in America" for her various efforts and won an achievement award through the statewide Nebraska Community Improvement program Health Division. She also served as an officer in the Nebraska Home and Community Health State Organization where she received an award for her contribution.Throughout her adult life, Kathy participated in community programs including church and community choirs, playing lead roles in the Cozad Community and Gothenburg Community Theater presentations including the role of Lucy in "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" and one of the leading ladies in "Arsenic and Old Lace". God blessed Kathy with many skills, talents, and opportunities to share with her family, friends, and communities throughout her life. She loved to sing in choirs and sing as a soloist.
