Madilynn Paige Lenhart (2021 - 2022)

&nbsp; &nbsp; William "Bill" Teel, age 84, of Indianola, Nebraska, was surrounded by his family when he passed away at his home in Indianola late Friday evening, July 22, 2022. Bill was born at the family home in Frontier County to Warren A. “Roundy” and Lucille V. (Fritsch) Teel. Bill grew up on the family farm north of Indianola in Frontier County where he went to grade school. He graduated from Indianola High School in 1955. Bill did not enjoy farming too much in those days, so he joined the Navy in 1955 and served for four years. &nbsp; &nbsp; Upon returning from the service, he married Barbara J. Vontz on June 18, 1960, and to this union five children were born: &nbsp;Kim, Mike, Teresa, Pam, and Rick. Bill was always a hard worker and supported his family. Bill spent many years as a trencher operator, and later became self- employed as a mechanic and welder. He later purchased his own trencher, restored it, and dug many miles of irrigation ditch. Bill said many times, “it’s how I made my fortune” before he officially hung up his polka dot hat for the last time. &nbsp; &nbsp; Bill enjoyed hunting pheasants, fishing, and an occasional beverage (back in the day). Bill spent many hours helping his sons, daughter and most recently his grandkids build demo cars. Wild Bill graduated from Norton “college” in 1988. His family was so proud of him! He continued using that education until he passed away. Bill was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and was a 40 Year Honorary Member. He was a member of St Catherine’s Parish. Bill was on the Indianola Fire and Rescue for 43 years! &nbsp;He loved chasing grandkids at sporting events and activities, sporting his two-sided hats and shirts (Dundy County/Southwest). He also got his first passport at the age of age 74 and enjoyed snorkeling, scuba, parasailing and most of all the buffets at several tropical locations. He may have also enjoyed an occasional trip to the casino. One of his daily highlights was the conversation at the Ag Valley round table.

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Bill was preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Barbara J. Teel; and one brother, Richard J. Teel and wife, Reba, of Springfield, Missouri. &nbsp; &nbsp; Bill is survived by his children: &nbsp;Kimberly S. Herrman and husband, Travis, of Indianola; Michael D. Teel and wife, Sandra, of Indianola; Teresa L. Foster and husband, James, of McCook; Pamela J. Reichert and husband, Richard, of Benkelman; and Rick L. Teel and wife, &nbsp;Ann, of Indianola; grandkids: Trisha (Dave) Willis, Chris (Savannah Johnson) Reichert, James (Brianna) Teel, Brandon (Shalynn) Reichert, Heather (Dustin) Webb, Kyle (Brooke) Teel, Nathan (Tiffany) Herrman, Steven (Mattie) Sander, Heath (KrisAnna) Teel, Tanner (Miranda) Teel, Zachary Herrman, Tyrell (Neleigh) Reichert, and Sydney Reichert (Riley Riggs); sisters-in-law: Jeanette Johnson, Darlene (Mark) Sweeney; Diane (Mark) Thee; and Rita Meier; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Bill loved his 28 great-grandkids and has one more on the way. He always said he should get plenty of birthday cake.

Patty Wagner, age 98, a longtime resident of Culbertson, Nebraska, passed away Friday evening, July 22, 2022 at Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska.

Naomi Thacker (1935-2022)

John Nicholas Kaus was born May 20, 1940, on the Kaus farm by Selden, KS
 to Nick Kaus and Mary (Kamphaus) Kaus. He passed away July 21, 2022, at
 his home in Seguin at the age of eighty-two. He graduated from the 
eighth grade while he was farming for his dad. He joined the Army on 
February 15, 1961 and served as a Specialist E4 at Fort Leonard Wood, 
Missouri for 2 years. 

When he returned home, he met and married Marilyn 
Joyce Ramsey on May 16, 1964, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in 
Colby, KS. The couple began their married life together on the Kaus farm 
where John continued farming and raising sheep, which he loved. To this 
union were born five children: John, Margaret, Juanita, Marvin, and 
Nicholas.
 John never met a stranger and treated everyone like a neighbor. 
Whether he was shearing sheep or attending a kid’s ballgame, he would 
strike up a conversation and make one walk away feeling like they had 
made a new friend. John sheared sheep in Kansas and Nebraska. The 
highlight of his life was helping to shear 4-H lambs for the county 
fairs across Kansas. John had a passion for his family. Some of the 
family’s best memories are fishing at Sheridan County Lake and Norton 
Lake and attending county fairs as John loved to see the livestock and 
ride the rides. John was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American 
Legion, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Selden and the Saint Martin 
of Tours Catholic Church of Seguin KS. He served on the Parish Council 
and Finance Council and was an Usher. In his early years, John regularly
 served as an Alter Boy. John was an avid supporter of the American Red 
Cross Blood drive with eighty-two units of blood donated.
 John was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Nick; Sisters 
Melvina Carssow and Elanor Schiltz; and daughter- in- law JoLinn Kaus.
 He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of the home; children, John Kaus
 of Manhattan, KS, Margaret (Eric) Corby of Salina, KS, Juanita (Kenny) 
Erickson of Neodesha, KS, Marvin (Kerri) Kaus of Seguin, KS and Nick 
Kaus of Selden, KS; sisters, Eileen Neff of North Platte, NE, Joan

John Nicholas Kaus (1940-2022)

Ralph Lee Jennings, age 87, of North Platte, NE passed away July 21, 2022 at Great Plains Health in North Platte.&nbsp; He was born on November 22, 1934 west of Sutherland, NE to Edward &amp; Mary (Miller) Jennings.&nbsp; According to Ralph, he was the longest living Jennings male.&nbsp; He earned the title in 2020 when he turned 86 and has a trophy to prove it.

The family moved to North Platte where Ralph attended school, graduating with the Class of 1953.&nbsp; Following graduation, he worked for a couple of years in Wyoming and then joined the United States Navy in 1955.&nbsp; He was honorably discharged in 1959.&nbsp; Upon returning to North Platte, Ralph went to work for Game &amp; Parks Commission where he worked until 1975.

Ralph married Kathy Manners of Cozad in 1961 and had two children, Kimberly and Kurt.&nbsp; The couple later divorced.

In 1970, Ralph started building the kennel west on State Farm Road.&nbsp; He ran the kennel until 1982.&nbsp; Ralph built and remodeled several houses.&nbsp; He built caskets, urns and rustic furniture, which he continued to do until he was 84 years old.&nbsp; He purchased his dream homestead south of North Platte and remodeled it in his own unique rustic style.

Ralph was preceded in death by everyone who has died before him, including his parents, Edward &amp; Mary Jennings; siblings, Nettie Frost, Bonnie Neely, Dale Jennings, Dixie Greenwood; and most recently, his dog, Paris, who died 24 hours prior to Ralph's passing.

Survivors include his ridiculously good looking children, Kimberly Jennings and Kurt (Candy) Jennings; his grandchildren, Garret, Elizabeth, Cori, Ryan, and Sean; and numerous other family members and friends.

 </figure>Ralph Lee Jennings, age 87, of North Platte, NE passed away July 21, 2022 at Great Plains Health in North Platte.&nbsp; He was born on November 22, 1934 west of Sutherland, NE to Edward &amp; Mary (Miller) Jennings.&nbsp; According to Ralph, he was the longest living Jennings male.&nbsp; He earned the title in 2020 when he turned 86 and has a trophy to prove it.The family moved to North Platte where Ralph attended school, graduating with the Class of 1953.&nbsp; Following graduation, he worked for a couple of years in Wyoming and then joined the United States Navy in 1955.&nbsp; He was honorably discharged in 1959.&nbsp; Upon returning to North Platte, Ralph went to work for Game &amp; Parks Commission where he worked until 1975.Ralph married Kathy Manners of Cozad in 1961 and had two children, Kimberly and Kurt.&nbsp; The couple later divorced.In 1970, Ralph started building the kennel west on State Farm Road.&nbsp; He ran the kennel until 1982.&nbsp; Ralph built and remodeled several houses.&nbsp; He built caskets, urns and rustic furniture, which he continued to do until he was 84 years old.&nbsp; He purchased his dream homestead south of North Platte and remodeled it in his own unique rustic style.Ralph was preceded in death by everyone who has died before him, including his parents, Edward &amp; Mary Jennings; siblings, Nettie Frost, Bonnie Neely, Dale Jennings, Dixie Greenwood; and most recently, his dog, Paris, who died 24 hours prior to Ralph's passing.Survivors include his ridiculously good looking children, Kimberly Jennings and Kurt (Candy) Jennings; his grandchildren, Garret, Elizabeth, Cori, Ryan, and Sean; and numerous other family members and friends.Memorials are suggested in Ralph's name.&nbsp; Online condolences may be shared at www.adasmswanson.com.Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, NE.&nbsp; Visitation will be held from noon t- 7:00 p.m. with family present from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.&nbsp; For those who are unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed at www.adamsswanson.com.

LaVonna J. Krajewski (1940-2022)

James William “Jim” Correll, 88, passed away peacefully at the home he built 60 years ago for his family.&nbsp; Jim was born May 18, 1934 to Frank and Eva Correll south of Wallace in his grandparents’ house.&nbsp; Jim attended high school at UNSA in Curtis and graduated in 1951.&nbsp; While there he met Della Munger and they were married on August 24, 1953.&nbsp;

The couple’s first home was in North Platte.&nbsp; In March 1954, they moved to the Arch Leu Ranch north of Sutherland where Jim worked for five years.&nbsp; They moved to the Huffman Ranch in 1959 and two years later moved back to North Platte where he worked construction.&nbsp; Jim later owned and operated Correll Construction and built many homes.&nbsp; He retired at the age of 62.&nbsp; Jim was very active with the Lincoln County Fair.&nbsp; He helped with numerous 4-H events and tractor pulls.&nbsp; After his retirement, he enjoyed fishing with his wife and grandkids.&nbsp; He also enjoyed working on the Old Time Hay Crew with Wes Steel.&nbsp; Jim looked forward to spring so he could plant his garden.&nbsp; The weeds did not stand a chance with him around.&nbsp;

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eva Correll; brothers, Clarence, Ted, Rusty Correll; sister, Evelyn Daly; in-law’s, Ralph and Elise Munger; grandson, Rocky Sherman. James "Jim" W. Correll (1934-2022)

Calvin F. Dittmar of Oconto passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Emerald Care Nursing in Cozad at the age of 91. Calvin was born November 2, 1930 near Oconto, Nebraska to Frederick and Elsie (Studley) Dittmar. He graduated from Oconto High School with the class of 1948. Calvin entered the U.S. Army in December of 1952 and was honorably discharged in October of 1954. Following his return home, Calvin was employed for a short time at Helmuth Well Service and Monroe Auto. He then went to work for Game and Parks and retired from the Custer County Road Department. Calvin enjoyed helping local farmers when they needed an extra hand and during harvest. He liked to stay busy, and could often be found tinkering in his shop building things. His nieces and nephews lovingly call him "Uncle Bub". He considered each one of them his "grandchild" and attended as many of their sports events and activities as he could. He loved horses, gambling, and went skiing for the first time at the age of 67. Calvin will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce Hendricks and niece, Lisa Dittmar. Survivors include 2 brothers, Darl (Milrae) Dittmar of Oconto and Jim (Margaret) Dittmar of Shelton; brother-in-law, Dick Hendricks of Callaway; 8 nephews; 3 nieces; and numerous great and great great nieces, nephews and extended family.

Terry L. Kruse Sr. passed away July 16, 2022 at his home in Cozad at the age of 68. 

Terry was born January 6, 1954 in Cozad, Nebraska to Wilbert and Esther (Sheets) Kruse. He grew up on a farm in Custer County and attended country school in Rotten Valley until it closed. He then attended Gothenburg school thru 8th grade and then transferred to Cozad for the remainder of his education. He met Vicky Lynn Mladek at Hay Days in September of 1968. They were married on July 24, 1971 and were blessed with four children: Terry Jr., Tricia, Jon and Cody. Terry was a skilled carpenter and self-employed at Kruse Construction. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, playing pool and flipping houses.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother, Rickey, brother Gary, brother Gene and sister-in-law Maria Kruse. Survivors include his children his children Terry (Becky) Kruse Jr. of Hunting Beach, CA, Tricia Kruse of Cozad, Jon Kruse of Cozad and Cody Kruse of Cozad; sister Sandy (Marvin) Tabor of Kimball; brother Quinten Kruse of Cozad and sister-in-law Angie Kruse of Gothenburg; grandchildren, Kayla and Nathan Kruse, Kaden Kruse, Addyson and Cyle Kruse; and many other extended family and friends.

Patsy A. Most, age 88, of McCook, NE passed away Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

Patsy was born May 27, 1934 in Atwood, KS to parents Ivan and Audrey (Rummel) Pennington. She was one of five&nbsp;children.

On June 10, 1953, Patsy married Richard A. Most in Atwood, KS. The couple was blessed with three daughters.&nbsp; Patsy was employed by Walmart and Sehnert’s Bakery in McCook. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and knitting.&nbsp; Patsy loved the color purple.&nbsp;She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witness on December 10, 1966 in Hutchinson, KS.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Loretta Burns-Fernandez. Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Richard Most of McCook; daughters, Darla (Glen) Bennett of Las Vegas, NV, Ivana Most of Kingston, PA; and her four grandchildren.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, July 23rd at 2:00 PM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in McCook.&nbsp;

Ronald William Siegmann, age 63, died at his home in Brady on July 13, 2022.

Ron was born to Robert, Sr. and Darlene Siegmann on February 4, 1959, in North Platte, where he grew up. While in high school, Ron hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad, working as a Fireman/Oiler, then graduated from NPHS in 1977. He continued with the railroad for 17 years until going out on his own to remodel and sell houses. Growing up, Ron was involved with Boy Scouts and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He loved to fish, play rock 'n roll music, restore old cars and go to auctions.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Siegmann, Sr. Ron is survived by his mother, Darlene of North Platte; brother Robert 'Rusty' (Angela) Siegmann, Jr.; sisters, Diane (Robert) Harrison of McCook and Joy Siegmann of Deertrail, CO; niece, Penny (Mike) Adkisson; nephew, Eric Miller, Bobby Siegmann and Billy Siegmann; great-nephew, Ashton Adkisson; and other family.

Janet&nbsp; Vass, 78, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died Tuesday July 19, 2022 at her daughter's home in Custer County, NE.

Janet was born Sunday March 19, 1944 in Colorado Springs, CO, the daughter of James and Lela (Lamb) Padgett. She was a member of the Methodist Church and attended Harrison school. Janet lived in many places throughout her life including: Colorado Springs and Julesburg, CO, Garden City, KS, and Sidney, Brule, North Platte, Lexington, and Gothenburg, NE. She loved farming with her husband, riding horses, drill team, fishing, and camping. Her favorite thing to do was going to the horse races in Grand Island.

Survivors include husband, Harold P. Vass of Gothenburg, four daughters, Susan (Kevin) Lunkwitz of Gothenburg, Lori (Bob) Centa of Valentine, Lynn Vass of Dodge City, KS, Renee (Denny) Robnett of Bonham, TX; two sons, Randy (Michelle) Vass of Sherman, TX, Rocky (Jake) Vass of Sterling, CO; sister, Cindy Padgett of Gothenburg, brother, Gary Padgett of Gothenburg, 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Ronald L Molleur JR, 58, of Curtis, Nebraska, died July 17, 2022 in Wells County Colorado.

He was born March 6, 1964 in Newport, RI, son of Ronald Molleur SR&nbsp; and Joan D Molleur. Ron loved spending time with his family, his dog Ozzie Mae and his new puppy Alice Jane, grilling and using his smoker. There were many things that Ron loved starting with Patty his partner, riding his Harley Davidson, his antique car, and his body art. He loved the freedom of being on the open road as a trucker, and lived life to the fullest everyday.

Ronald L Molleur Jr. (1964-2022)

Kent Allan Fisher, of North Platte, died unexpectedly at Great Plains Health on January 3, 2022. He was 63 years old. Kent was born to Margaret and Bill Fisher on January 12, 1958, in North Platte, where he grew up. After graduating from North Platte High School,&nbsp; Kent received his Associate of Arts Degree in architecture from Mid-Plains Community College. As Kent was growing up, he said he was never going to work for the railroad and he wasn't going to live in North Platte his whole life. But, after college, he went to work for the railroad with the intention to save some money and then get a job in architecture. However, once he started, he fell in love it. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 41 years, working his way up to Engineer. He retired from the railroad in 2019. On July 27, 1996, Kent married Sandra Nelson in Las Vegas. They lived in North Platte and were together for 17 years when Sandy passed away in 2013. Kent married Georgina 'Gina' Henderson on July 25, 2016, in Las Vegas and they made their home in North Platte. Kent was a creative person with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed gardening, building model trains, and doing remodeling projects around the house. He was a great cook, had a love for music, and was an avid concert goer, especially rock 'n roll.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Bill Fisher; nephew, ArJay Patterson; and his first wife, Sandra Fisher. Survivors include his wife, Gina, and stepdaughters, Kendall (Kaleb) King and Klair Henderson (Noah Anderson), all of North Platte; brother, Carrlon (Jane) Patterson of Northville, MI; sisters, Michelle Campbell of Phoenix, AZ, and Tracy (Mark) Kichline of Allentown, PA; step grandchildren, Kaisen and Krayten; niece, Lael (Tim) Burns; nephews, David (Sheena) Campbell, Scott (Courtney) Campbell, and Alexander Kichline; great-nephew Kevin; and great-nieces, Suzie, Laney, Kennedi, and Quinn; and other family. &nbsp; Stanley Delmar Cady of Valentine, Nebraska died peacefully July 16, 2002, at the age of 83, at Sandhills Care Center in Ainsworth, Nebraska after a short illness. His wife and family members were at his side. Stan was born March 2, 1929 in Todd County, South Dakota to George W. and Dena (Miedema) Cady. He had a wonderful childhood growing up on the farm/ranch near Lakeview, South Dakota. He attended grade schools in and near Lakeview. In first and second grades, he and his sister, Delia, rode horseback to school. Stan graduated from Todd County High School in 1958. He married his high school sweetheart, Carol Peed, May 1, 1959 in Fort Pierre, South Dakota. Stan and Carol spent their 63 years together living in Valentine, Nebraska. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Stan had many interests. He enjoyed country music, fishing and gardening. He was on the fire rescue team as a scuba diver. He worked for Miller Brothers garage for many years as a mechanic. Stan is survived by his wife Carol; sister Delia Stetter (Bob) of Valentine; brother Duane Cady (Janet) of Lakeview, South Dakota; sister-in-law Sharon Cady of Boncarbo, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George W. and Dena Cady and brother Howard G. Cady of Boncarbo, Colordo. Funeral services will be held at the Crossroads Assembly of God Church in Valentine, Nebraska on Friday July 22, 2022 with Pastor Dale Williams officiating. M. Eileen Stuhr age 89 of Broken Bow, NE passed away July 18, 2022, at the Brookestone View in Broken Bow, NE. Marcele Eileen Campbell Stuhr was born September 28, 1932, in Custer County, Nebraska to Harry and Elsie Mae (Howland) Campbell. As a teenager, Eileen worked summers at the National Forest Reserve in Halsey, NE. Eileen graduated from Anselmo High School in 1951. She attended summer school at both Chadron and Kearney State Teacher College. She taught rural schools in Thomas and Custer County. During the summers she filled in at the post office, drug store, and grocery store. Eileen moved to Omaha and worked one summer at Harold’s Super Market (now No Frill’s). She then went to work at Aetna Life and Casualty as an underwriter. Eileen met and married John C. Stuhr June 17, 1966. The couple farmed his family farm until they retired to Minden, IA.

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband John, sisters: Iris (Elmer) Clang, Zelma (Robert) Scott, Bertha (Dan) Cawley, brothers: Alvin, Virgil, Roger, and Charles (Carol) Campbell. Eileen leaves to mourn her passing sister Joyce (Gordon) Melroy, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces, and nephews.

Eileen enjoyed reading, fishing, and watch most sports.

Donna Jeanne Aspinall Wilson, age 85, passed from this life to the next on July 13, 2022 at her home with family. Donna was born in Gordon, Nebraska on August 21, 1936 to Tom Aspinall and Mary Allie (Simms) Aspinall. She graduated from Gordon High School with the class of 1954. Following graduation she attended nursing school. Donna worked as a nurse for 41 years, retiring in 1998 to put her years of nursing to use in another way as she helped take care of grandchildren so their parents could do ministry. During her years of nursing she worked in Gordon, NE; Cheyenne, WY; Scottsbluff, NE; Lincoln, NE; Rushville, NE; Pine Ridge, SD; and Chadron, NE. She worked in almost every area of nursing from pediatrics to geriatrics. She taught in the school of nursing in Scottsbluff for 12 years and was a Director of Nursing in many long-term care facilities. She lived out the Florence Nightingale pledge to carry out faithfully her profession, to assist the physician, and devote herself to the welfare of those committed to her care. She married Ernie Wilson in 1967 and to this union were born 3 children: Susan, Randy Scott, and Sandra. Ernie passed away in July of 1978, leaving Donna to raise her children with the help of her family. As in nursing, Donna was devoted to those in her care. She sacrificed much to make sure her three kids succeeded in the areas God gifted them in. She attended speech, theater, band, and sporting activities as often as she could. She stayed up late nights and typed speeches for contests. She arranged for tutoring where needed and often her and her mother worked to help in studying schoolwork at home. She helped pay for college—whatever scholarships didn’t. The same was true for her grandchildren. She videotaped many of their school and church programs, attended sports events and dance recitals and as her health and distance didn’t always allow her to be there in person she learned how to use the internet to her advantage to watch many events. Once her children were adults that didn’t end. She would come help clean, repair, build, watch kids, cook—whatever was needed she stepped in and did. This did not just happen in her family, but many times she would reach out and help others in the same way. Donna was a prayer warrior, after her husband died she spent many hours in prayer as she raised her family—writing many of those down in notebooks. Those prayers continued for grandchildren. Donna extended her prayers into the community as a member of the Hope Embraced prayer team. She spent the last 24 years living with her son in North Platte, traveling when her health would allow to visit family. Her relationship with Jesus was such that her children and grandchildren comment on how her life and character helped them to see and understand who Jesus is. She attended the Presbyterian church in Gordon growing up; the Methodist churches in Clinton and Rushville; Parkview Nazarene Church and the Salvation Army Church in North Platte. She was a member of the Lone Willow Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for 30 plus years. Donna was interested in her family history and has passed that love and curiosity on to her children and grandchildren. Donna was honored in 1979 as an alumni of 4-H in Sheridan County.

She is survived by sisters, Doris Chaney of Lincoln, and Peggy Reimann (Ray) of Hay Springs; her children Susan (Joe) Sukraw of North Platte,&nbsp; Randy Scott, of North Platte, Sandra (Steve) Hurst, of Alva, FL, grandchildren Joshua Sukraw of Kansas City, MO, Ben (Jaime) Sukraw of Lincoln, Hannah(William) Lewis of Moss Point, MS&nbsp; &amp; Nathan (Faith) Sukraw of St. Augustine, FL, and Alianna Hurst of Alva, FL and great-grandson Kanaan Sukraw (and baby brother due in December) of Lincoln. Also many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and aunts that were an important part of Donna’s life. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her brother Gary Aspinall, and nephews, Bret Reimann and Michael Chaney.

Donna was a prayer warrior, after her husband died she spent many hours in prayer as she raised her family—writing many of those down in notebooks. Those prayers continued for grandchildren. Donna extended her prayers into the community as a member of the Hope Embraced prayer team. She spent the last 24 years living with her son in North Platte, traveling when her health would allow to visit family. Her relationship with Jesus was such that her children and grandchildren comment on how her life and character helped them to see and understand who Jesus is. She attended the Presbyterian church in Gordon growing up; the Methodist churches in Clinton and Rushville; Parkview Nazarene Church and the Salvation Army Church in North Platte. She was a member of the Lone Willow Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution for 30 plus years. Donna was interested in her family history and has passed that love and curiosity on to her children and grandchildren. Donna was honored in 1979 as an alumni of 4-H in Sheridan County.She is survived by sisters, Doris Chaney of Lincoln, and Peggy Reimann (Ray) of Hay Springs; her children Susan (Joe) Sukraw of North Platte,&nbsp; Randy Scott, of North Platte, Sandra (Steve) Hurst, of Alva, FL, grandchildren Joshua Sukraw of Kansas City, MO, Ben (Jaime) Sukraw of Lincoln, Hannah(William) Lewis of Moss Point, MS&nbsp; &amp; Nathan (Faith) Sukraw of St. Augustine, FL, and Alianna Hurst of Alva, FL and great-grandson Kanaan Sukraw (and baby brother due in December) of Lincoln. Also many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and aunts that were an important part of Donna’s life. Devona Mae Latimer, age 93, passed away July 18, 2022 at Linden Court in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp;

Devona was born January 9, 1929, to parents Ora and Bernice Thayer at the family farm near Maywood, Nebraska.&nbsp; She attended elementary school in the Dickens area and graduated from Maywood High School in 1947. October 22, 1947, she married Leo (Hap) Fletcher in McCook, Nebraska.&nbsp; They lived in the Dickens and Hayes Center area until 1953 when they moved to the Moorefield community where they raised their three children: Janis, Vickie, and Larry.&nbsp; The Fletchers lived in this area until 1990 when Leo passed away. Devona was always active and enjoyed the farm, sewing, cooking, crafts, dancing, and sports. &nbsp;Huskers and any sport involving her family members were her favorites. She was a member of the Neighborly Belles Extension Club and served the community by being a Moorefield School Board member and was employed at the Moorefield post office. Devona also enjoyed her years raising poinsettias at the Hilltop Nursery in Moorefield. June of 1992, Devona married Clarence Latimer, and they made their home in North Platte where Clarence passed away in 2014. In North Platte, Clarence and Devona were generous with their time, serving as volunteers at the Great Plains hospital, taking tickets at sporting events, welcoming visitors to the Lincoln County Historical Museum, and helping with many other activities through RSVP. Preceding Devona in death are her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law Ted and Maureen Thayer, Lester and Vivian Thayer; her sister and brother-in-law Eva and Darrel Isaacs, son-in-law Rodney Martens, and great granddaughter Karinne Larshus.&nbsp; Survivors include daughters Janis (Louie) Nutt, Vickie (Eldon) Johnson, and son Larry (Beth) Fletcher; grandchildren Krista Medo and Matt (Moe) LaVine, Valerie (Tom) Johnson, Kara (Curtis) Larshus, Jessica (Jesse) Saner, Wade Johnson, Craig (Kim) Johnson, Megan (Justin) Crow, Leslie (Brent) Safranek, Lindsay (Jason) Hallam, Nichole Latimer, 23 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and family.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Berean Bible Church in Curtis, Nebraska with Pastor Brian Nicklas officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Ft. McPherson National Veterans Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska. Kevin Edward Schukman, of Hays, Kansas, passed away Monday, July 18, 2022 at his home.&nbsp; He was born January 25, 1955, in Hays to Edward John Schukman and Sybilla (Giebler) Schukman.&nbsp; He graduated from Hays High School in 1973. On September 19, 2005 he married Kathleen Mae Herrman in Great Bend, Kansas.

Loving, gentle, compassionate, and welcoming to all, no matter the circumstances, Kevin was a fine example of what a real man should be.&nbsp;&nbsp;Active in Kiwanis, especially the flag program, he was also involved in Big Brothers and Big Sisters, the Catholic Campus Center at Fort Hays, Hays Chamber of Commerce, charity golf tournaments, and Chiefs! Chiefs! Chiefs! He would willingly drop everything to help anyone — even for a leaky toilet — offering his talents as plumber, carpenter, electrician, or IT guru.&nbsp;He was employed by Eagle Communications for many years.

Kevin showed his love for friends and family by cooking for them, especially&nbsp;taco Tuesdays with his grandchildren. Above all, Kevin loved and prioritized family, especially honing his talents as a doting grandpa.&nbsp;It’s not easy to lose Kevin, but it will always be easy to honor him by sharing our memories, helping others, loving our families, enjoying good food, and cheering on our Chiefs!

He is survived by his daughters, Sarah (Josh) Smith, (Hays, KS); and Suzanne (Eric Cline) Whitaker, (Kansas City, MO); and step daughter Carrie (Jesse) Goetz, (Topeka, KS); one sister and three brothers; Jay and Nancy Schukman (Richmond, VA); John and Linda Schukman (Lansing, KS); Ruth Schukman-Dakotas and Dan Dakotas (De Soto, KS) and Mark and Gloria Schukman (Overland Park, KS); and grandchildren Carter Jones, Laylah Pfannenstiel, Kolyn Pfannenstiel, and Ella Smith, and a multitude of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Kevin Edward Schukman (1955-2022)

Glenn&nbsp;Kirkbride, age 98, passed away at his home in Brady, NE, on July 18, 2022.

Glenn was born in Laverna, Saskatchewan, Canada, on July 2, 1924, to Neal and Estella Kirkbride. He moved to British Columbia in 1928 then to Seattle, WA, in 1942 to attend the University of Washington. In August 1943, Glenn enlisted into the U.S. Army. He served until September 1945 and returned to Washington following his discharge. On April 17, 1948, Glenn was united in marriage to Agnes Shannon in Vancouver, British Columbia. He and his bride, Agnes, lived in Seattle until 2004 when they moved to Birch Bay, WA. They were married for 62 years when Agnes passed away on August 6, 2010. Glenn moved to Brady, NE, in 2021. Glenn had been a member of Cubbies-AWANA. He loved working with kids, was an avid reader, enjoyed swimming, and liked to journal and do crosswords. Glenn also loved to tell stories about his time in W.W.II and how God saved his life on the day he was shot. One of his greatest joys later in life was going on a Veteran's Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

Along with Agnes, he was preceded in death by their daughter, Heather Betker; his parents, Neal and Estella; and his siblings, Neal, June, Hope, Martha and Ruby. Survivors include Glenn's children, Neal (Terry) Kirkbride of Mesa, AZ, Glenn (Tonya) Kirkbride of Tucson, AZ, Barbara (Scott) Woodley of Birch Bay, WA, and Kristen (Joshua) Hagin of Brady, NE; as well as 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and other family.

Glenn Kirkbride (1924-2022)

Robert Lawrence “Bob” Rice, age 70, of Pine River, MN, passed away on July 16, 2022, at Maple Woods Assisted Living in Cohasset, MN, due to renal disease. Bob was born on September 23, 1951, in Winnebago, MN, to Sidney and Tillie (Wiese) Rice. He grew up in Minnesota and in the sand hills of Nebraska. On May 18, 1974, Bob married Debra Starr. They had two daughters, Becky and Tammy. Bob worked for Jim Peterson’s ranch north of Arnold, NE, at the 96 Ranch north of Brady, NE and at Big Creek Ranch north of Mullen, NE until it was sold. Bob then moved his family north of North Platte, NE working at the Hansen 77 Ranch for Tom Hansen. When he and Deb divorced, he and his daughters moved back to Mullen, NE. He worked for Quarter Circle Bar Ranch for 9 years. In 1985 Bob married and divorced Twila Lockhart. In 1987 Bob moved to Imperial, NE where he worked for Curly Olney Inc. Case IH. On March 22, 1988, Bob married Joyce Wynn. They had a daughter, Amanda. In 1992 Bob moved to Pine River, MN, where he started his own mechanic shop, Precision Mechanic. He ran his shop for many years until having his leg amputated. Bob loved his dogs, hunting, fishing, spending time with family and helping others fix their big equipment and vehicles.

Bob is survived by his daughters: Becky (Dave Hassett), Tammy (Ray) Boston, Amanda (Jeremy) Armstrong; grandchildren: Trey Seevers, Colten Seevers, Syras Boston, Sabryna Boston, Levi Seibert-Rice; and brothers, Jim (Charlene) Rice and Leo (Karen Vollmer) Rice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sid and Tillie Rice; brothers, Lee Rice and Donald Rice; and niece, Sheila Rice.

Services will be 6 PM on Friday, July 22, at Kline Funeral Home, Pine River, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, then another service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, at 10:00 am MT at the United Methodist Church in Mullen, NE with Pastor Shanon Williams officiating.
