Eddie Dean Bennett, 61,&nbsp;formally of Lexington&nbsp;passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at his home in Overton. Eddie was surrounded by his wife, youngest daughter, brother, niece, and best friend while receiving hospice care in his final days.&nbsp;&nbsp; Eddie was born January 13, 1960 in Lexington, NE to the late Robert and Donna (Hughbanks) Bennett. Eddie was the youngest of three children. He attended the Lexington Public School system and was a member of the class of 1978. After high school, Eddie worked for Wells Fargo in Florida&nbsp;and he was also employed at Orthman Manufacturing in Lexington.&nbsp;Eddie then worked for Biehl Cattle Company and the Omaha World Herald before starting his long career of driving semi-truck. Eddie hauled for Bartels, Nebraska Salt And Grain, Mail Carriers Of America, Packer Inc., Eagle Eye Express and J Bar Trucking where he was an independent contractor until he was unable to work due to his health. He was united in marriage to Nancy Fisher on November 12, 1991 in Chadron. To this union two daughters were born: Autumn and Donna. Ed and Nancy raised their family in the Overton Community for 30 years. Eddie was an avid&nbsp;deer hunter, who&nbsp;enjoyed hunting in&nbsp;Chadron and in Dawson counties,&nbsp;for&nbsp;over&nbsp;35 years. He had a passion for riding motorcycles. Ed and Nancy had made the trip to Sturgis for about ten years. Collecting guns was a hobby of Ed's. Eddie and his friends made yearly trips to the&nbsp;world's biggest gun show in&nbsp;Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife, Nancy of 29 years, their two daughters: Autumn (Jess) Bennett of Marathon, Wisconsin and Donna (Russell) Lewis of Sherman, Texas. He is survived by his&nbsp;brother, Dallas Bennett and sister, Starla (John) Corder both of Lexington. He is also survived&nbsp;by&nbsp;two step&nbsp;grandchildren: Mckenzie Lewis and Colton Cooper of Justin, Texas.&nbsp;Nieces &amp; nephews: Tia (Eric) Franzen of Grand Island, Dennis Price, Jr. of Minden, Harley (Lacey) Bennett of Amarillo, Texas and Jessica (Marshall) Carson of Bird City, Kansas.&nbsp;Brother and sister-in laws: Terry (Sandy) Fisher of Cozad, Larry (Peg) Fisher of Overton, Jerry (Wanda) Fisher of Cozad, Shirley (Curtis) Thorton of Lincoln, Sue Lenz of Gothenburg and Sharon Johnson of Ellsworth, Kansas.&nbsp;He is also survived by many other extended family members and many friends. Libby, age 84, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on Friday, September 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Gene was born on November 11, 1936 to Loran and Lucy Libby in Ewing, Nebraska.&nbsp; He attended Ewing Public Schools, graduating in 1954.&nbsp; After graduation, he attended Grand Island Business School in Grand Island, Nebraska.&nbsp; After marrying Arlene Walters on June 24, 1956, they made their new home in Omaha, Nebraska where he accepted a position for the Union Pacific Railroad Company as an accountant.&nbsp; After Union Pacific promoted Gene to divisional auditor, he was transferred to Los Angeles, California. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;In his spare time, he was Minister of Education for Full Gospel Tabernacle, Bellflower, California and served as Deputy District Director of Royal Rangers (a boys' program for the Assemblies of God).&nbsp; It was at FGT that he met a friend who introduced him to the Shaklee products.&nbsp; To this day, they have enjoyed a long and successful career as Liftime Shaklee Master Coordinators.&nbsp; While building their own Shaklee organization, he spoke for many other groups.&nbsp; Gene was a 'sought after' motivational speaker and spoke for many company conventions.&nbsp; They enjoyed traveling to many countries of the world because of their succes in Shaklee. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Gene was an U.S. Army Reservist, was called to active duty for the Berlin Crisis and was stationed in Ft. Carson, Colorado where their son, Bill, was born.&nbsp; Gene had a love for music and enjoyed being a part of the Melody Kings quartet in the early 1960's across Nebraska.&nbsp; In later years, he organized a quartet at Parkview Community Church in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; He also organized community sing-spirations on Sunday evenings at the church. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Left to cherish Gene's memory are his wife of 65 years, Arlene; his son, Bill Libby (Darla) of North Platte, Nebraska and daughter, Tami Wolford (Brian) of Lincoln, Nebraska; four grandchildren, Corinne Schriver (Zach), Brandon Libby, Claire Wolford, and Logan Ralls (Saide); and a sister, Bonnie Christiansen. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua William; his parents, Loran and Lucy Libby; his brother, Ronald Libby; and his mother and father-in-law, Henry and Mildred Walters. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;A Celebration of Life for Gene will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Parkview Community Church, 1801 N. Gene I. Libby  (1936-2021)

Adam James White, 37, of Overton, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney. He was born on May 31, 1984 in Berlin, Vermont to Francis Lee and Sharon Elaine (Haskins) White.&nbsp; Adam received his education at Montpelier public schools, graduating from Montpelier High School with the class of 2002. He then went onto further his education for a year at vocational school. Adam was united in marriage to Cathleen Johnson on May 24, 2003 in Johnson, Vermont. Four children were blessed to this marriage: Cole, Cheyenne, Gage and Laura. While living in Vermont, Adam worked for Cathleen’s uncle. In 2011, the family decided to make the move to Overton, Nebraska to be closer to Cathleen’s family. Adam kept himself busy working various jobs in the area. He worked for Lofquist Welding in Elwood, Overton Sand and Gravel, NAPA and Walmart in Lexington, and he also did some harvesting for Don Lofquist. Before his health started to decline, Adam worked for Flatwater Food &amp; Automotive Towing and Recovery in Overton. Adam loved being a volunteer fireman. He took great pride in his job and also volunteered at two other departments, Middlesex/More Town Fire Department and North Hyde Park/Eden Fire Department before moving to Overton and being part of the Overton Fire &amp; Rescue Department. He enjoyed mowing, which he started doing on the side for a business in 2013, spending time at the Dawson County Racetrack and tinkering in the garage with his good friend, Seth Area. Adam also loved spending time with his family and just recently became a Grandpa. Adam leaves to celebrate his life; his wife, Cathleen of Overton; his children, Cole (Nataly) White, Cheyenne (Garret Wood) White, Gage White and Laura White all of Overton; his parents, Lee White of Barre, Vermont and Sharon Elaine White of South Barre, Vermont; his grandmother, Alice Haskins of Waterbury, Vermont; siblings, Andrew (Chrissy) White of South Barre, Vermont, Nicholas (Jennifer) White of Massena, New York, Eddie (Donna) Austin of Tennessee and Crystal Williams of Vermont; one grandson, Leo Anthony Vega Pape of Overton; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. &nbsp; James "JD" Baltzell, 52 of Paxton, passed away September 21, 2021, at the Ogallala Community Hospital. JD was born August 20, 1969, at Goodland, Kansas, to Otis (Jim) and Billie (Morland) Baltzell. He attended school at Wauneta before graduating from Paxton High School with the class of 1989. JD married Lisa Still on March 16, 1991, at Paxton, NE. JD worked for Titan Industries for several years before eventually taking a job at NPPD in warehouse inventory. He would later work at Claas before relocating to Lawrence, NE, where he worked as a beloved Maintenance Director at Kingswood Court Assisted Living/Caring Friends In Home Care. JD was an ardent Husker fan and loved spending time outdoors. Whether it was a visit to the mountains, working alongside the many farmers he assisted over the years, or just mowing the grass, JD was in his element when he was outside. He was a beloved Husband, Brother, Uncle and Father. He always put family first and loved from the bottom of his heart. Of foundational importance in JD's life was his absolute dedication to the Paxton Volunteer Fire and Rescue squad. He sacrificed countless hours and special occasions to serve, and he did it well. JD constantly signed up for continued training and loved to teach and mentor the team's younger members. With a distinct laugh and ornery smile, JD was a familiar and steady mainstay amid the department for over twenty-five years, most of which he served as Assistant Chief. JD was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Gabrielle “Gabby” Mae Jurgensen, 23, of North Platte, passed away September 18, 2021, at her home.&nbsp; She was born August 2, 1998 to Corey G. Jurgensen and Kimberly Sue Strong, in North Platte, Nebraska. Gabby attended Maxwell High School and moved to Iowa for a short time.&nbsp; She will always be remembered as a free spirit who walked her own way, always independent.&nbsp; She enjoyed drawing and will be remembered for her beautiful smile. Gabby enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with her friends. Gabby is survived by her parents, father, Corey (Melissa) Jurgensen, Scranton, Iowa; mother, Kim (Jim) Woodill, North Platte, Nebraska; brothers, Gage Alexander Jurgensen, North Platte, Nebraska, Joshua Massure, Winterset, Iowa; sisters, Cari Najarro, Wisner, Nebraska, McKenna Berney, Pierce, Nebraska, and Asta Jurgensen, Scranton, Iowa; nieces Jadi’, Ray, and Ryatt.&nbsp; Along with numerous other family members and many friends. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Carolyn Schnacker, Lawrence Strong, Keith Jurgensen, Jim and Bev Hubschmitt, and niece Sophia. The family has established a memorial in memory of Gabby. Donald Lee Pickering passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at his home in Cozad at the age of 64. His wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donald L. Pickering passed away suddenly, at his home in Cozad, at the age of 64. Donald was born December 26, 1956 to Wayne and Iris (Sharp) Pickering. Don was a life long resident of Cozad, Nebraska where grew up and married Roberta "Bobbie" Roberts. Their union was blessed with 2 sons, Rocky and Nick. The couple went their separate ways and Don ended up enjoying the single life as he could focus on his 2 sons and being the best dad he be could to them. Don was a hard worker, he roofed for 30+ years, farmed and was a skilled mechanic. He was the type of man that would give the shirt off his back and would offer help to anyone in need. Don was a creative man and good with his hands. He loved his family and friends dearly, his sons respected him and looked up to him. He will be missed by many. Donald was proceeded in death by his parents. Donald Lee Pickering (1956-2021)

Mary Lou Strever passed from this life September 20, 2021 in Lexington. She was born 83 years ago in a tiny house in Quinlan, Oklahoma, on the night of September 13, 1938, to Andy and Mary Ellen Osborn - the third child in a family that would grow to include six children. Their family eventually moved to Mooreland, OK where Mary attended public school and spent a lot of time reading, drawing, and sewing. After graduating in May 1956, she traveled to Nebraska for a wedding and met Clifford Strever. After a whirlwind courtship, they were married on November 22, 1956. Cliff and Mary raised four daughters: first on the Strever family farm north of Lexington, then in Beatrice, NE for two years where Mary taught art classes at Beatrice High School. In 1972, they moved back to Lexington where Mary taught art classes at Lexington Jr High. Mary enjoyed decorating her homes with antique furniture, which led to her next career – buying and selling antiques. She enjoyed traveling to antique shows across the United States, and meeting people who enjoyed antiques as much as she did. After Cliff passed away in 1990, she converted her home in Lexington into a Bed &amp; Breakfast, and enjoyed meeting her guests and making them feel at home. To give her more time to paint, she sold the Bed &amp; Breakfast and moved to New York. She was a docent and taught art classes at Olana State Historic Site – the home of Frederic Church, a famous landscape artist. While in New York, she enjoyed researching the historical roots of the Strever family, which had settled in New York after arriving from Germany. She eventually returned to Lexington, where she continued to paint, repaired antique toys and dolls, planted her entire yard with flowers and trees, enjoyed time with her grandkids, and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. Mary was a kind-hearted, free-spirited person who enriched the lives of all she met. She will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents Andy and Mary Ellen Osborn, husband Clifford Strever, daughter Lanay Strever, sister Dixie Johnson, and brother Daryl Osborn. She is survived by her daughters Sharmane (Al) Arnold of Fair Grove MO, Teri Underwood of Lincoln NE, and Jamie (Norm) Rohda of Waverly NE; eleven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and three siblings: Don (Erna) Osborn of Mooreland OK, Leonard (Marlys) Osborn of Woodward OK, and Betty Graham of Mooreland OK. Harold Allan “Herb” McNuttt, age 85, of Kearney passed away at his home on September 15, 2021.&nbsp; He was born in McCook on September 4, 1936, to Roy and Lucille (Marcum) McNutt.&nbsp; Herb went to school in McCook and graduated from McCook High School in 1954. &nbsp;He enlisted in the United States Army on October 28, 1954, serving in Germany prior to being honorably discharged on October 28,1956. Herb was married to Shirley Kay “Tootie” Propp and to this union two sons were born, Rodney and Randy.&nbsp; On September 12, 1998, Herb married Coraleen “Kae” Matson-McNutt and the family grew by two, adding David and Diana. Herb was employed by Stickney’s for 20 years before going to work for Lee Janssen selling cars.&nbsp; In 1999, Herb and Kae moved to Kearney.&nbsp; In Kearney, Herb managed an apartment complex and later worked for Cabela’s for 12 years in the phone order department.&nbsp;&nbsp; Herb loved NASCAR and watching Husker football on TV or listening to it on the radio.&nbsp; He would take road trips on the spur of the moment and might go to Iowa to see kids, Branson, Missouri for shows or even the Grand Canyon. Herb played in a band with Ron Scott, Bob McNutt and the Road Masters. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lucille; son, Rodney; brothers, Merle and Jerry McNutt; sister, Lori Synder; and brother-in-law, Otis Tyson. Herb is survived by his wife, Kae of Kearney; two sons, Randy (Amy) of Kearney and Dave (Cheri) of Locust Grove, OK; daughter, Diana (Steven) Arhart of Ft. Dodge, IA; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and sister, Rita Tyson of Blackfoot, Idaho.

&nbsp;Karen I. “Kim” Sis, age 67, of McCook, passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, September 19, 2021.&nbsp; Kim, as her friends called her, was born in St Louis, MO., on November 27, 1953 to Charles and Delores (Riegelski) Marlow.&nbsp; She graduated from High School in 1971. Kim attended McCook Community College, studying accounting and business communication. While traveling with a friend to Denver, she met Marc Sis.&nbsp; The couple dated and were married on May 14, 1976, at St. John’s Catholic Church in rural Kansas, near Atwood. Kim enjoyed many jobs in her career. She was an accountant for Burns Laboratory, and loved cooking for her residents during her time as kitchen manager at Highland Park. She also had worked for the Chamber of Commerce, Redman's Shoe Store, Subway, and Schmick’s Grocery.&nbsp; Kim was a great cook, and loved to share this gift with those around her. She had many talents: drawing and sketching, designing, writing poetry and stories. She enjoyed solving her puzzles, and was great at Scrabble. She was an avid pet lover, and had many pets that she loved dearly, especially their cat “Toots.”&nbsp; She enjoyed keeping bird feeders in her backyard, and enjoyed watching the many birds and squirrels that shared their yard.&nbsp; Kim and Marc recently traveled to Ogden, Utah, to visit their daughter Ruby, and son-in-law Chris. They have spent recent years traveling to see family in St. Louis, MO., Grand Junction, CO., and Omaha.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Delores; brother-in-law, Dave Tripodi; sister-in-law, Janet Marlow; niece, Alisha Manhal. Betty&nbsp; Jean Helt, 86, of Cozad, formerly of Ogallala, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 in her home at Cozad, NE.&nbsp;&nbsp; Betty was born on September 21, 1934 to Frank and Vida (Peck) Helt at Imperial, NE. Betty was one of 5 children, and one of three girls.&nbsp;&nbsp; Betty later moved to Ogallala where she met her love, Franklin "Sonny" David Helt.&nbsp; Betty and Sonny were married on November 8th, 1986, and were married for 24 years before the passing of Sonny.&nbsp; Betty received services from PAKS and later from South Central Development Center, of Cozad, where she made her home.&nbsp;&nbsp; Betty loved telling jokes, being ornery, telling stories of the "good ole days", and watching the birds. Betty would ask that in her memory, you would&nbsp; put on some good music, drink a cup of coffee, be bold; wear a piece of jewelry, put on your lipstick and look your very best every day.&nbsp;&nbsp; Betty will be missed by her housemates, caregivers, those that she called family, as well as her guardian Jana.&nbsp; &nbsp;Betty was preceded in death by her love and&nbsp; husband, Franklin "Sonny" David Helt, her father Frank Sweet and her mother Vida (Peck) Sweet, 2 sisters Mildred Deinger and Alice Stock, and 2 brothers Harlon Sweet and Gordon Sweet. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at 10:00am MST, in the Ogallala Cemetery, with Rev. Curtis Tschetter, officiating. Betty was one of 5 children, and one of three girls.&nbsp;&nbsp; Betty later moved to Ogallala where she met her love, Franklin "Sonny" David Helt.&nbsp; Betty and Sonny were married on November 8th, 1986, and were married for 24 years before the passing of Sonny.&nbsp; Betty received services from PAKS and later from South Central Development Center, of Cozad, where she made her home.&nbsp;&nbsp; Betty loved telling jokes, being ornery, telling stories of the "good ole days", and watching the birds. Betty would ask that in her memory, you would&nbsp; put on some good music, drink a cup of coffee, be bold; wear a piece of jewelry, put on your lipstick and look your very best every day.&nbsp;&nbsp; Betty will be missed by her housemates, caregivers, those that she called family, as well as her guardian Jana.&nbsp; &nbsp;Betty was preceded in death by her love and&nbsp; husband, Franklin "Sonny" David Helt, her father Frank Sweet and her mother Vida (Peck) Sweet, 2 sisters Mildred Deinger and Alice Stock, and 2 brothers Harlon Sweet and Gordon Sweet. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at 10:00am MST, in the Ogallala Cemetery, with Rev. Curtis Tschetter, officiating. Terry Rae Harlin, age 68, of North Platte, died unexpectedly at home on September 21, 2021. Terry was born to Dona and Donald Peck, Sr. on April 4, 1953, at North Platte where she grew up and has lived all her life. Terry graduated from NPHS with the Class of '71 then worked at the Telegraph for a few years. On February 16, 1974, Terry married Gary Harlin at the First Assembly of God Church.&nbsp; The couple had two children, Shane and Tasha, and were married for 37 years when Gary died in 2011. Terry had been a member of Platte Valley Auto Club and Colonel Cody's Cruisers.&nbsp; She worked at Old McDonald Preschool and Daycare for over 20 years then continued to help there as a volunteer. During Halloween, Terry was affectionately known as the 'Popcorn Ball Lady' for all the treats she made and handed out.&nbsp; Terry had two passions in life: children and cars, from street cars to stock cars to drag cars, she liked 'em all!&nbsp; Family and friends were also of great importance to Terry; her door was always open for visitors and conversation.&nbsp; She looked forward to sharing crockpot dinners and was always willing to make mints. Terry wanted the best for her family and she will be greatly missed. Along with her husband, Gary, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dona and Don Peck, Sr.; her brother, Don, Jr.; niece, Gloria Peck-Ward; and her beloved dogs, Hemi and Missy. Home in Mullen, Nebraska. He was born August 30, 1936, to Gerald J. and Mabelle
(Siefers) Carson in Alliance, Nebraska. He was the youngest of two
children.&nbsp; Jerry graduated from Hyannis
High School in 1953 at the age of 16. In 1957, on a dare made by his good
friend, Pete Rhode, Jerry met Sharon Porter. They were married October 26, 1958
and made their home on the Hager Ranch where Jerry worked as a ranch hand. Two
children were born to their union—Becky Lynn on July 4, 1960, and Stuart Morgan
on July 30, 1962. Jerry enjoyed his
time with family and participating in many weekend ranch rodeos; competing in
team roping, calf roping, occasionally bareback riding, team penning, team
sorting, and team pulling. Jerry and Sharon also raised greyhounds which raced
in various states across the country. After spending many years as a devoted
ranch hand, Jerry and Sharon retired to North Platte, Nebraska in 2002. Jerry will be
remembered by his strong work ethic, dry sense of humor, knack for the best
tricks, and always making the best of every situation. Jerry's pride in being a
hard-working sand hills cowboy was an honor to witness. Left to cherish
Jerry's memory is Sharon, his loving wife of 62 years, daughter Becky Carson,
and son Stuart (Leah) Carson, four grandchildren; Ashley (Tim) Dowhower, Ben
Carson (fiancé Haley Porter), Jera Smith (fiancé Tyler Werner), and Page
(Tyler) Dahlgren, two great-grandchildren; Molly Carson and Owen Smith. Jerry
is also survived by his sister Lois Hampton, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins,
and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Mabelle

Jerry D. Carson (1936-2021_

Michael Conway McGinn, 85, of Dunning, Nebraska, passed away on September 19, 2021. Mike was born on May 17, 1936, to Charley and Helen (Conway) McGinn at the family homestead west of Anselmo, Nebraska. After graduating from high school in Curtis, Nebraska, he came home to the family ranch where he spent his entire life as a rancher. In 1956, he married Patti Iverson in Anselmo, Nebraska. After marriage, they moved to the McGinn Ranch south of Dunning. They raised two children, Laron McGinn of Dunning, and Karyn Seeley of Halsey. Mike’s passion for ranching and flying spanned his entire life. He loved traveling the country with his family, visiting all 50 US states and Europe.&nbsp; He also enjoyed many trips with in-laws, Jim and Colleen Higgins, and Sue and Dick Clark. Over the years, Mike welcomed hundreds of visitors to the ranch.&nbsp; He was always proud to show off the Sandhills and loved giving guests their first airplane ride. Mike was an avid chronicler of precipitation. He was known for his unique wit, a sly smile, strong faith, and his common decency. Mike had great compassion for the cattle and horses that spent their lives on the ranch, and he loved his dachshunds, Dope, Puddles, Poo, and Pixley.&nbsp; In addition, he raised an impressive herd of damn barn cats. After the death of Patti in 1980, he married Jan Featherston in 1987.&nbsp; Jerri Edelman came to live with Mike and Jan in 1990 and became a cherished sibling of the McGinn family. Mike was preceded in death by parents Charley and Helen, wives Patti and Jan, stepson Craig Harris, and numerous close Sandhills friends. He is survived by brother Butch (Shirley) McGinn, son Laron McGinn, daughter Karyn (John) Seeley, Jerri (Michael Zadiek) Edelman, grandchildren Jake (Megan) Seeley, Jess (Anna) Seeley, Cole (Jonnie) Seeley, eight great grandkids, and Jan’s children Valerie Harris, Julie (Bob) Long, Michael McCamley, Cindy (Wayne) Harris-Fuhrer, plus numerous nieces, and nephews. Mike McGinn (1936-2021)

Trudy Carolyn Guettler was born December 30, 1952 in Long Beach, California to Dewain and Lois (Johnson) Warner. They had three children, Sharon, Trudy, and Wayne. They divorced and Lois and the children moved to Columbus, NE, where her parents lived. In 1962, they moved to Cozad, NE where Trudy attended elementary, junior high, and high school. She was a cheerleader all four years of high school. Trudy graduated with the Class of 1971. On June 24, 1972, she married Randy Guettler and they had one son, Travis, who was born July 14, 1973 in Greeley, CO. She always cherished Travis. He attend Nebraska School for the Deaf in Omaha, NE for 15 years and also attended Gallaudet University for the Deaf in Washington, DC. Trudy quickly learned sign language so she could better communicate with Travis, his friends, and other at the schools. Trudy was Travis’ own personal cheerleader as he excelled in many sporting events and she was there to cheer him on to victory. Trudy had compassion for older people and spent several years as a caregiver in Omaha. She loved tending her flower beds and potted plants. Trudy moved back to Cozad with her parents, Bob and Lois Warnke, two wonderful and caring role models, and helped them as much as she could. They had many fun and silly times. If the Oscars or Emmys were on, they would dress up and pretend to walk the “Red Carpet.” When the Huskers were on, they would eat “Husker Dogs” and dress in red equipped with pom poms and all. On Halloween, they dressed in their own costumes and it was always a sight to see! Trudy traveled to Maryland as often as she could to visit with Travis and her five grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally. One of her favorite pastimes was fishing. There was always a bet between her and her parents as to whom was going to catch “The Big One!”. They weighed and measured each one and proudly posted pictures on the refrigerator. Trudy was excited to catch several “Master Anglers.” She loved God and journeyed on to her new home in Heaven on August 23, 2021. Those left to celebrate her life are son, Travis; grandchildren, Seanna, Rajena, Thalia, Ethan, and Ian Guettler, all of Frederick, MD; sister Sharon (Curt) Cutler of Columbus, NE; sister Deanne (Cid) Ledford and family of Whittier, CA; nephew Scott (Debbie) Cutler and family of Yankton, SD; nephew Todd (Shelly) Cutler and family of Omaha, NE; niece, Stephanie (Bob) Ferguson and family of Omaha, NE; niece, Chianne (Mark) Coffman and family of Winsor, CO; sister-in-law, Sherry Warner; niece, Amanda Barnes and family; and nephew, Ashton Warner of Cozad, NE;, Patty Weeks, special caregiver; and many other family and friends. Trudy was preceded in death by Lois Warnke, mother; Bob Warnke, stepfather; Wayne Warner, brother; Lewis and Marie Johnson, grandparents; Dick Johnson, uncle; Dewain Warner, dad; Ross and Carolyn Warner, grandparents; Marie Della Ventura, stepmother; and other relatives.  </figure>Trudy Carolyn Guettler was born December 30, 1952 in Long Beach, California to Dewain and Lois (Johnson) Warner. They had three children, Sharon, Trudy, and Wayne. They divorced and Lois and the children moved to Columbus, NE, where her parents lived. In 1962, they moved to Cozad, NE where Trudy attended elementary, junior high, and high school. She was a cheerleader all four years of high school. Trudy graduated with the Class of 1971. On June 24, 1972, she married Randy Guettler and they had one son, Travis, who was born July 14, 1973 in Greeley, CO. She always cherished Travis. He attend Nebraska School for the Deaf in Omaha, NE for 15 years and also attended Gallaudet University for the Deaf in Washington, DC. Trudy quickly learned sign language so she could better communicate with Travis, his friends, and other at the schools. Trudy was Travis’ own personal cheerleader as he excelled in many sporting events and she was there to cheer him on to victory. Trudy had compassion for older people and spent several years as a caregiver in Omaha. She loved tending her flower beds and potted plants. Trudy moved back to Cozad with her parents, Bob and Lois Warnke, two wonderful and caring role models, and helped them as much as she could. They had many fun and silly times. If the Oscars or Emmys were on, they would dress up and pretend to walk the “Red Carpet.” When the Huskers were on, they would eat “Husker Dogs” and dress in red equipped with pom poms and all. On Halloween, they dressed in their own costumes and it was always a sight to see! Trudy traveled to Maryland as often as she could to visit with Travis and her five grandchildren, whom she loved unconditionally. One of her favorite pastimes was fishing. There was always a bet between her and her parents as to whom was going to catch “The Big One!”. They weighed and measured each one and proudly posted pictures on the refrigerator. Trudy was excited to catch several “Master Anglers.” She loved God and journeyed on to her new home in Heaven on August 23, 2021. Those left to celebrate her life are son, Travis; grandchildren, Seanna, Rajena, Thalia, Ethan, and Ian Guettler, all of Frederick, MD; sister Sharon (Curt) Cutler of Columbus, NE; sister Deanne (Cid) Ledford and family of Whittier, CA; nephew Scott (Debbie) Cutler and family of Yankton, SD; nephew Todd (Shelly) Cutler and family of Omaha, NE; niece, Stephanie (Bob) Ferguson and family of Omaha, NE; niece, Chianne (Mark) Coffman and family of Winsor, CO; sister-in-law, Sherry Warner; niece, Amanda Barnes and family; and nephew, Ashton Warner of Cozad, NE;, Patty Weeks, special caregiver; and many other family and friends. Trudy was preceded in death by Lois Warnke, mother; Bob Warnke, stepfather; Wayne Warner, brother; Lewis and Marie Johnson, grandparents; Dick Johnson, uncle; Dewain Warner, dad; Ross and Carolyn Warner, grandparents; Marie Della Ventura, stepmother; and other relatives. Trudy was cremated and her ashes will be interred at Fairview Cemetery in Cozad on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jill Boyd officiating.

Lois L. Coons, 86, of Callaway, Nebraska passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Kearney Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 26, 1934 in North Platte, Nebraska to Edward “Ted” and Olive (Keller) Smith. Lois grew up in a small house in North Platte, with her three brothers and two sisters. While working as a nurse’s aid at Saint Mary’s Hospital in North Platte, she met her husband John W. Hughbanks while he was in the hospital with a broken leg and when he saw her he said “that’s the woman I’m going to marry!” She used to laugh about how he would chase her around the hospital. They were married on October 25, 1952 and had six children, three boys and three girls. After the death of her first husband on February 7, 1975 Lois met and married Gerald D. Coons in October of 1980. Gerald passed away in June of 1988. She loved being near her children, grandkids, brothers and sisters. Family was the most important thing to her. Lois was a kind and loving person who lived every minute to the fullest. She enjoyed shopping and visiting with family over a nice cup of coffee. She was also nothing if not consistent between the way she liked to wear her hair to the light pink jacket she always used to wear. She will be deeply missed. Lois is joined in heaven by her mother, Olive; father, Edward “Ted”; and step-father, Lewis “Lew”; two brothers, Myron and Marvin; sister, Donna; brother-in-law, Mel; sister-in-law’s, Kay and Grace; son-in-law, John and her second husband, Gerald. Lois is survived by her children, James Hughbanks, Richard (Ben) Hughbanks, Janine (John) Ferrier, Janet (Bill) Schaad, Cindy Folds and Johnny Hughbanks; one sister, Beverly (Dale) Bailey; one brother, Gary (Penny) Smith; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the Callaway United Methodist Church with Pastor Shanon Williams, officiating. Rosa Belle (Curran) Repass, age 92, of McCook, NE passed away in McCook on September 20, 2021. Rosa Belle was born August 22, 1929 in Hayes Center, NE to parents John J. and Elva E. (Scott) Curran.&nbsp; She was one of three children born to this union.&nbsp; Rosa Belle attended school in Hayes Center, graduating with the Class of 1948.&nbsp; Following high school, Rosa Belle began teaching.&nbsp; She continued to teach until she was married.&nbsp; On August 18, 1950, Rosa Belle married the love of her life, Robert Repass, in North Platte, NE.&nbsp; The couple was blessed with three children.&nbsp; Rosa Belle was very involved in the day to day farming and was also a cook at the school for many years until retiring.&nbsp; She and Robert received the Pioneer Farm Family Award in 1985 for one hundred years of land ownership before moving to Hayes Center.&nbsp; After Robert’s death, Rosa Belle moved to McCook where she resided until her death.&nbsp; Rosa Belle was involved in her children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities and could usually be found with one or more of them on her lap while she read to them.&nbsp; Wherever she resided, she was caring for her grandchildren and her greats.&nbsp; It was lovingly referred to as “Grandma Olda’s Day Care”.&nbsp; Rosa Belle was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Hayes Center as well as the McCook Evangelical Free Church. Rosa Belle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Repass; son, Ronald Repass; sister and brother in law, Norma Jean (Marvin) Peterson; brother, Donald Curran; and great granddaughter, Kristen Repass.&nbsp;&nbsp; Those left to celebrate her life include her children, Gerald (Kate) Repass of Hayes Center and Gaylea (Chuck) Bunstock of McCook; daughter in law, Rita Repass of McCook; sister in laws, Ilah (Ted) Hanley and Mary Lou Repass, all of California; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; numerous extended family members and lifelong friends.

Patricia Kackmeister 55, of North Platte, left this earth on September 19, 2021, at Great Plains Health, in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; She was born Dec 1, 1965 to Betty Jean Ruch Lupo and Danny Dean Lupo, in North Platte.&nbsp; She was later adopted to George and Mildred Welsh. Patricia graduated at Lincoln Christian High School in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1984. After high school she went to work at Maranatha Bible camp, then on to several jobs including Wendy’s, Taco Johns, and Dairy Queen.&nbsp; She married the love of her life Alan Ray Kackmeister November 9,2001, in Bastrop Texas.&nbsp; Patricia enjoyed fishing, the Recreation Center and loved to entertain family on special occasions. She leaves behind her husband Alan Ray Kackmeister of North Platte; children, Jessica Blue, Texas, Schyler Blue, South Carolina, Richard Blue, South Carolina, Jennifer Bigley, Texas, Elizabeth Kackmeister, Texas, Ryan Kackmeister, Texas, Kayla Kackmeister, Texas, several grandchildren; her sisters, Peggy (Brad) Porath, Mullen, NE, Betty (Chuck) Wretling, of Colorado; brothers, George (Sandy) Welsh JR., Cozad, Nebraska and Loren Rivera, Greeley Colorado. O’Rourke, 71, of North Platte, passed away September 20, 2021 at Great Plains Health in North Platte.&nbsp; Steve was born September 10, 1950, in North Platte to Van D. and Joan (Stephenson) O’Rourke.&nbsp; Stephen grew up in North Platte, and attended North Platte Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1968.&nbsp; He started his career with the Union Pacific Railroad at the age of 17 and continued this career for 40 years.&nbsp; He joined the Army National Guard in 1972 and served for 6 years.&nbsp;&nbsp; Stephen married Karla Gifford on August 6, 1972.&nbsp; To this union 3 children were born, Scott, Stacey and Kari.&nbsp; They made their home in North Platte. Stephen belonged to the American Legion, Eagle’s and Gun clubs.&nbsp; He loved Husker games, was a collector of all sizes of cars, drive able and model cars and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.&nbsp;&nbsp; Stephen loved his grandkids and family immensely.&nbsp; He loved playing catch with his grandkids and pushing the grandkids on the swing. More than anything, he loved his wife so much and modeled the perfect relationship with her for his kids to see.&nbsp; Stephen is survived by his wife, Karla, North Platte; children, Scott (McKenna) O’Rourke, Kearney, Nebraska, Stacey (Rob) King, Lee Summit, Missouri, and Kari (Ryan) Grigg, North Platte, Nebraska; grandchildren, Kaylee and Chloe King, Kasey and Kenzie O’Rourke, Karter, Reese, Konnor and Rayn Grigg; brothers, Bob (Barb) O’Rourke and Todd O’Rourke along with numerous other family members. Stephen S. O'Rourke (1950-2021)

Dean Andrew Dunkel was born to George and Norma Gumb Dunkel on November 28th, 1948, in Atkinson, Ne.&nbsp; Dean lived on a ranch near Crookston, Ne with his parents and two older sisters.&nbsp;&nbsp; He attended country school there until the 8th&nbsp;grade.&nbsp; At that time, the family sold their ranch and moved to Valentine.&nbsp; Dean then attended Valentine High School and graduated from there in 1967.&nbsp; Shortly after graduation Dean was drafted into the Army.&nbsp; He spent the next two years in Germany.

Karin Ann Culey Dunkel was born to Giles and Margie Imrie Culey on March 9th, 1950, in Watertown, SD.&nbsp; She lived with her parents, two older brothers, her twin brother, younger brother and two younger sisters in Clark, SD.&nbsp; She attended school there and graduated from Clark High School in 1968.&nbsp; After high school, Karin attended Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD for one year.&nbsp; She then attended nursing school at St Mary’s in Pierre, SD.&nbsp; She graduated from nursing school in 1971 as an LPN.

Dean and Karin met in Valentine, NE in 1971 soon after Karin moved there to work at the old hospital.&nbsp; They were married on October 7th, 1972, in Clark, SD.&nbsp; To this union six children were born.&nbsp; Dana, Shawna, Todd, the twins, Kasi and Kori, and Brady. Dean was a mechanic for several years.&nbsp; He enjoyed hunting, hiking, listening to music and shooting his guns.&nbsp; Dean was a devoted husband and a wonderful and caring father and grandfather.&nbsp; He had a great sense of humor and the softest heart in the world.&nbsp; He loved his family immensely. Karin babysat for many years until her youngest child started school full-time.&nbsp; She then worked as an LPN at Pineview Good Samaritan until she retired.&nbsp; Karin was a devoted wife and caring mother and grandmother.&nbsp; She always had a grandchild on her lap, until they got too big of course!&nbsp; She had a great sense of humor and was always laughing with one of her family members or friends. Dean passed away on September 14th, 2021, at Community Memorial Nursing home in Burwell, Ne at age 72, due to failing health. Karin passed away on September 15th, 2021, at Cherry County Hospital at age 71 due to metastatic breast cancer.

Dean and Karin were married for 48 years.&nbsp; They are survived by their daughters, Dana (Mike), Shawna, Kasi (Dan), Kori, and son Brady, all of Valentine.&nbsp; Grandchildren, Brendan, Kaleb, Brittany, Nigel, Steven, Gabriel, Madilynn, Reaghan, Gracie, Paige, Jenna, and Jakob and recently their first great grandson, Thorin Andrew Dunkel born in July. Dean is also survived by his two older sisters, Kathy (Lonnie) Hughes of Sargent, NE, and Joann (Rich) of Montrose, SD, and many nieces and nephews. Karin is also survived by her older brother Dan (Mary) Culey of Sioux Falls, SD, brother Mike (Lisa) Culey of Lincoln, Ne, sister Jean Culey of North Platte, NE, and her best friend of over 65 years, Sandy Caster of Watertown, SD, and many nieces and nephews. Dean and Karin are both preceded in death by their parents and their son Todd.  </figure>Dean Andrew Dunkel was born to George and Norma Gumb Dunkel on November 28th, 1948, in Atkinson, Ne.&nbsp; Dean lived on a ranch near Crookston, Ne with his parents and two older sisters.&nbsp;&nbsp; He attended country school there until the 8th&nbsp;grade.&nbsp; At that time, the family sold their ranch and moved to Valentine.&nbsp; Dean then attended Valentine High School and graduated from there in 1967.&nbsp; Shortly after graduation Dean was drafted into the Army.&nbsp; He spent the next two years in Germany.Karin Ann Culey Dunkel was born to Giles and Margie Imrie Culey on March 9th, 1950, in Watertown, SD.&nbsp; She lived with her parents, two older brothers, her twin brother, younger brother and two younger sisters in Clark, SD.&nbsp; She attended school there and graduated from Clark High School in 1968.&nbsp; After high school, Karin attended Presentation College in Aberdeen, SD for one year.&nbsp; She then attended nursing school at St Mary’s in Pierre, SD.&nbsp; She graduated from nursing school in 1971 as an LPN.Dean and Karin met in Valentine, NE in 1971 soon after Karin moved there to work at the old hospital.&nbsp; They were married on October 7th, 1972, in Clark, SD.&nbsp; To this union six children were born.&nbsp; Dana, Shawna, Todd, the twins, Kasi and Kori, and Brady. Dean was a mechanic for several years.&nbsp; He enjoyed hunting, hiking, listening to music and shooting his guns.&nbsp; Dean was a devoted husband and a wonderful and caring father and grandfather.&nbsp; He had a great sense of humor and the softest heart in the world.&nbsp; He loved his family immensely. Karin babysat for many years until her youngest child started school full-time.&nbsp; She then worked as an LPN at Pineview Good Samaritan until she retired.&nbsp; Karin was a devoted wife and caring mother and grandmother.&nbsp; She always had a grandchild on her lap, until they got too big of course!&nbsp; She had a great sense of humor and was always laughing with one of her family members or friends. Dean passed away on September 14th, 2021, at Community Memorial Nursing home in Burwell, Ne at age 72, due to failing health. Karin passed away on September 15th, 2021, at Cherry County Hospital at age 71 due to metastatic breast cancer.Dean and Karin were married for 48 years.&nbsp; They are survived by their daughters, Dana (Mike), Shawna, Kasi (Dan), Kori, and son Brady, all of Valentine.&nbsp; Grandchildren, Brendan, Kaleb, Brittany, Nigel, Steven, Gabriel, Madilynn, Reaghan, Gracie, Paige, Jenna, and Jakob and recently their first great grandson, Thorin Andrew Dunkel born in July. Dean is also survived by his two older sisters, Kathy (Lonnie) Hughes of Sargent, NE, and Joann (Rich) of Montrose, SD, and many nieces and nephews. Karin is also survived by her older brother Dan (Mary) Culey of Sioux Falls, SD, brother Mike (Lisa) Culey of Lincoln, Ne, sister Jean Culey of North Platte, NE, and her best friend of over 65 years, Sandy Caster of Watertown, SD, and many nieces and nephews. Dean and Karin are both preceded in death by their parents and their son Todd. Larry Severin Streit, 86 of Overton, Nebraska passed away Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington. Larry was born January 22, 1935 in Lexington to Joe and Maggie (Weaver) Streit. He attended school in Overton and graduated with the class of 1953. He then attended Kearney State College. On April 29, 1957 he was united in marriage to Janice Dickson at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Overton. To this union eight children were born. Larry enlisted in the US Army in 1958 and served his country until being honorably discharged in 1964. Larry farmed and also managed Gardner Lumber Company in Elm Creek for thirty-five years. The family was awarded the one hundred year farm award in 2000. LeRoy Meissner, age 72, of Culbertson, NE passed away on Thursday, September 16,&nbsp;2021&nbsp;at Community Hospital in McCook, NE.&nbsp; LeRoy was born October 31, 1948 in Quick, NE to parents Leo L. and June A. (Carroll) Meissner.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; LeRoy married Dianna (Zwickle) Meissner on June 1, 1968 in McCook.&nbsp; The couple was blessed with two daughters: Sherri and Shauna. LeRoy enjoyed working on anything with a motor.&nbsp; He was always on the go and enjoyed taking a drive around on the backroads. Over the years, LeRoy was employed by Western&nbsp;Tire, McCook Farm Equipment and Stratton Grain Elevator.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; LeRoy served his country in the United States Army from 1969 until his Honorable Discharge in 1971.&nbsp; He was stationed in Bamburg, Germany. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dianna Meissner; two sisters, Thelma (Pinky) Warburton and Cora Dybdahl; two brothers, James and Kenneth Meissner; sister in law, Merri Meissner; father- and mother-in-law, Harry and Golda (Roller)&nbsp;Zwickle; and brother-in-laws, Michael and Gary&nbsp;Zwickle, and granddaughter Allysha Fischer.
