Mary Delores (Vieyra) Shaw, age 68, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away December 8, 2020 at Great Plains Health in North Platte.

Mary was born on April 4, 1952 in North Platte, Nebraska to Raymond L. and Mary M. (Martinez) Vieyra. She grew up and attended North Platte Public Schools graduating from North Platte High School with the Class of 1970. She moved to Lincoln, Nebraska where she worked at AC Nelson. She met Douglas Shaw and the two were united in marriage August 12, 1972 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Platte. The couple lived in North Platte where Mary worked at Safeplay, Mode O Day, Shopko, Sixth Street Grocery, and settled at the Wal Mart Distribution Center.

Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, especially passing on family stories to her grandkids and great-grandchildren. She loved to cook and always made sure everyone had what they wanted to eat. She loved to surprise others but hated being surprised, always giving of herself to others.

Survivors include her husband, Douglas of North Platte; three children, Lucrecia (Leonard Lunkwitz) Egner, Latonya (Michael) Wyatt, and Damien Shaw (Alyssa Smith) all of North Platte; a sister, Patsy (Tim) Dilley of North Platte; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Mary; step-mother, Vera; brothers, Johnny Ray (Joanne), Marcello (Stella); and a grandson, Ezekial Shaw.

Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.

Mary Delores Shaw  (1952-2020)

Helen R.&nbsp; Nelson, age 97, of Curtis, Nebraska, died December 7, 2020 at Senior Living Choices in Curtis.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Helen Ruby Nelson was born February 26, 1923 to Peter and Alice (Olson) Mortensen at their farm north of Curtis.&nbsp; She attended country grade school through the 8th grade. After graduating from UNSA in 1940, she obtained a provisional teaching certificate and taught rural grade school for two years, saving money to attend the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska.&nbsp; She graduated with a degree in Home Economics in 1946 and taught Home Economics in David City, Nebraska for one year before marrying Virgil Nelson on June 29, 1947.&nbsp; They moved to Trenton, Nebraska where he was county agent and she was the home agent for Hitchcock County. In 1950 they moved to a farm 6 miles north of Curtis, Nebraska.&nbsp; In 1960 they moved to the Mort Mortensen homestead.&nbsp; In 1971 they built a house 12 miles north of Curtis, where she resided until February of 2006.&nbsp; At that time, she moved into Senior Living Choices.

She was a member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church and St. John’s Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School and Bible School for many years.&nbsp; Helen was also involved in ALCW and LWML.&nbsp; She was instrumental in organizing Busy Homemakers home extension club, and she and Virgil formed the Fox Creek 4-H club and were leaders throughout its existence.&nbsp; Helen was very involved in Nebraska Cattle women, holding several state offices and directed the Nebraska Beef Cook-Off and helped with the National Beef Cook-Off.&nbsp;

Many people, especially her family, said Helen made the best bread in the county. She also made wonderful jellies, often from wild fruit or corn cobs.&nbsp; Her grandchildren always knew there would be home baked cookies in the cookie jar and more in the freezer.&nbsp; She was a fabulous seamstress as well as a teacher of sewing.&nbsp; She was always interested in trying a new craft, such as pillowcase dolls or sugar eggs for Easter.

Survivors include son, Gary (fiancee Charlotte Jobman) of Curtis, Nebraska, Marcia (Arnold) Oltmans of Raleigh, NC, Carol (Marvin) Hanes, Moorefield, Nebraska. Nine grandchildren, 32 Great grandchildren, and three great grand children; as well as many nieces and nephews.&nbsp; She is also survived by a special cousin, Mary Mougey of Portland, OR.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil E Nelson, father and mother Pete and Alice Mortensen, brother and sister-in-law Ivan and Monine Mortensen, sister and brother-in-law Harriet and Merle Lipe, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wilbur and Charlotte Nelson, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rodola and George Kellogg, and infant sister, Marilyn.

Visitation will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Curtis, Nebraska on Sunday, December 13, 2020, 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm, with family present from 3:00-5:00 pm.&nbsp; Mask are required and all CDC guidelines and current DHM’s will be followed.

Services will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Curtis NE,10:30 am, Monday, December 14, 2020 with Rev. David Keating officiating and will be live streamed on Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapels YouTube page. Mask are required and all CDC guidelines and current DHM’s will be followed.

Burial will follow at Fort McPherson, Maxwell, NE at 1:00 PM. for immediate family due to restrictions.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Helen Ruby Nelson  (1923-2020)

Douglas Wayne Hartman of Cozad, Nebraska passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 62. Doug was born July 15, 1958 in Cozad, Nebraska to Donald "Buck" and Charlotte (Baker) Hartman.

Doug went to school in Cozad and graduated with the class of 1977. He attended Grace College of the Bible in Omaha, Nebraska where he met Kim Schoof, who would become his wife. They married on October 4, 1980 and moved to Deshler, Nebraska where Doug worked at Reinke Manufacturing until he was laid off in 1982. They then moved to Cozad where Doug worked a few jobs until he became employed at Monroe Auto. He worked there until the plant was shut down and then went to work at Dayton Phoenix Group in Gothenburg, Nebraska where he was presently employed.

Doug and Kim became parents to Rachel Nicole in 1983 and Lydia Susanne in 1984.

Doug loved his family and his Huskers. He always said that he thought a true fan was loyal whether their team won or lost, although he preferred them to win! He enjoyed spoiling his grandkids, even earning the nickname "Spoiler". He was their biggest fan, supporting them in their various activities. He was a man of few words but his smile spoke volumes.

Survivors include his wife, Kim; their daughters, Rachel Cisneros of Cozad, NE and Lydia (Justin) Dorn of Bennet, NE; grandchildren, Kynlee, Mason, Carson, Lincoln and Everly; his brothers, Mike (Monica) Hartman of Sperry, IA and Greg (Melissa) Hartman of Cozad, NE; his in-laws, LaVon and Marilyn Schoof of Edgar, NE; his aunts, Sandy Fox of Callaway, NE, Bonnie Block of Cozad, NE and Joan Schweitzer of Bossier City, LA; his sisters-in-law, Earlene Cox of Stuart, FL and Marla (Steve) Ledgerwood of Gordon, NE; brother-in-law, Doug (Cyndie) Schoof of Oak, NE; and various nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Don "Buck" in 2005 and Charlotte on September 9, 2020; his grandparents; aunts, Audrey Kugler, Janese McCaslin and Vaneta McCreary; uncles, Bob Hartman, Archie Block, Gage McCaslin and Carroll McCreary.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;James David Harris, age 77, of North Platte, Nebraska died at Great Plains Health in North Platte on December 9, 2020. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Jim was born in Omaha, Nebraska on November 6, 1943, then adopted by James &amp; Helen (Swanson) Harris.&nbsp; He grew up and attended school in North Platte, then worked for Harris News Agency until 1985.&nbsp; In 1972, he started Jim's Hobby Shop and devoted himself to the shop.&nbsp; It was located in several different locations over the years until settling on South Dewey where Jim was still running the shop until recently. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On June 6, 1965, Jim married Lois Lorraine Gosnell in North Platte. They had three kids and were together for over 55 years. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Jim and Lois liked traveling in the camper during the summers and being around family.&nbsp; He had an interest in Native American History, like bowling, and was on several leagues. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his parents, James &amp; Helen Harris; a granddaughter, Zena Huddleston; and a brother-in-law, Jim Weedman. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Jim leaves behind his wife, Lois; and sons James Harris and Brian (Rachel) Harris, all of North Platte, Nebraska; a daughter, Pennie (Jack) Reynolds of Elm Creek, Nebraska; six grandkids and four great-grandkids; his sister-in-law, Donna Weedman; and brothers-in-law Larry (Elaine) Gosnell and Ralph (Mary Jo) Gosnell, all of North Platte, Nebraska; and other family. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Cremation was chosen.&nbsp; A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Odean Colonial Chapel at C &amp; Sycamore in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; The memorial book can be signed at odeanchapel.com or from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December11, 2020 at Odean Colonial Chapel at C &amp; Sycamore in North Platte, which is in charge of arrangements.&nbsp; The family has established a memorial.

James David Harris  (1943-2020)

Darrell&nbsp; Farnsworth, age 87, of North Platte, Nebraska, formerly of Big Springs, Nebraska,&nbsp; died December 8, 2020 at Centennial Park Care Center in North Platte. He had been living in the Sutherland, Nebraska&nbsp; since 2015, and recently transferred to North Platte. Darrell was born February 22,1933 in Burlington, Colorado to Marshall and Fern (Hines) Farnsworth. He was baptized and confirmed into the Methodist Church in Burlington as a young boy.

Darrell married Shirley Andrews in 1952. To this union two children were born, Debra Fern and Mark&nbsp; Gregory. In 1962 he married Doris Suhr at the Lutheran Church in Paxton, Nebraska. They were blessed with three children, Thomas Darrell, Jana Marie and Bobbi Ann.

He attended Burlington Grade School and High School where he was a star football player and track star, graduating with the class of 1951. Following graduation he attended Otaro Jr. College in LaJunta, Colorado and continued his education at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado where he received his Masters Degree. After college he took a teaching position in Big Springs, Nebraska where he remained for 49 years, retiring in 1994. While in the Big Springs School system, he accepted many responsibilities including K-12 Principal, Jr. High math teacher, Elementary PE teacher and a coach for all Jr. High sports with several undefeated seasons in football and volleyball. He was an avid Colorado Buffalo and Denver Bronco football fan, attending all their games if possible.&nbsp;

Darrell was a member of the United Methodist Church in Big Springs. He helped serve his community through active participation in numerous organizations and events. He was a member of the Big Springs Fire Department for many years. He helped organize the Optimist Club and was a member until it disband. He served on the Big Springs City Council for 17 years. He also was the Homecoming Parade Chairman for many years. In 1994 he was chosen as the Deuel County Fair King. Outside of school and community he was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapshooter.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Doris, of 58 years; five children: Debra (John) Olesen of Limon Colorado, Mark (Sheryl) Farnsworth of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, Thomas (Christine) Farnsworth of Venango Nebraska, Jana (Nathan) Piper of Kearney Nebraska, and Bobbie Farnsworth of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren Jason (Jessica) Farnsworth, Jared (Lindsey) Farnsworth, Jill (Michael) Ellison, John Olesen, Sean Farnsworth, Alex Farnsworth, Ian Piper and Brendon Piper; Step-granddaughter, Cassie Goldenstien; and six great grandchildren. Darrell is also survived by sisters-in-law Marlene (Leo) Griffiths and Bonnie (Bill) Wendland all of Paxton, Nebraska, Deborah (Lynn) McCaig of Lincoln, Nebraska; also several special nieces, nephews, cousins and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall Farnsworth, Fern (Hines) Farnsworth/Byer, his step-father, a brother at birth, and a son Alan at birth. His father-in-law Walter Suhr, mother-in-law Marie Suhr, two brothers-in-law Donald Suhr and Marvin Suhr, sister-in-law Donna (Suhr) Stahl and her husband Verlyn Stahl, nephews Michael Stahl and Steven Stahl.

 </figure>Darrell&nbsp; Farnsworth, age 87, of North Platte, Nebraska, formerly of Big Springs, Nebraska,&nbsp; died December 8, 2020 at Centennial Park Care Center in North Platte. He had been living in the Sutherland, Nebraska&nbsp; since 2015, and recently transferred to North Platte. Darrell was born February 22,1933 in Burlington, Colorado to Marshall and Fern (Hines) Farnsworth. He was baptized and confirmed into the Methodist Church in Burlington as a young boy.Darrell married Shirley Andrews in 1952. To this union two children were born, Debra Fern and Mark&nbsp; Gregory. In 1962 he married Doris Suhr at the Lutheran Church in Paxton, Nebraska. They were blessed with three children, Thomas Darrell, Jana Marie and Bobbi Ann.He attended Burlington Grade School and High School where he was a star football player and track star, graduating with the class of 1951. Following graduation he attended Otaro Jr. College in LaJunta, Colorado and continued his education at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado where he received his Masters Degree. After college he took a teaching position in Big Springs, Nebraska where he remained for 49 years, retiring in 1994. While in the Big Springs School system, he accepted many responsibilities including K-12 Principal, Jr. High math teacher, Elementary PE teacher and a coach for all Jr. High sports with several undefeated seasons in football and volleyball. He was an avid Colorado Buffalo and Denver Bronco football fan, attending all their games if possible.&nbsp;Darrell was a member of the United Methodist Church in Big Springs. He helped serve his community through active participation in numerous organizations and events. He was a member of the Big Springs Fire Department for many years. He helped organize the Optimist Club and was a member until it disband. He served on the Big Springs City Council for 17 years. He also was the Homecoming Parade Chairman for many years. In 1994 he was chosen as the Deuel County Fair King. Outside of school and community he was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapshooter.Darrell is survived by his wife, Doris, of 58 years; five children: Debra (John) Olesen of Limon Colorado, Mark (Sheryl) Farnsworth of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, Thomas (Christine) Farnsworth of Venango Nebraska, Jana (Nathan) Piper of Kearney Nebraska, and Bobbie Farnsworth of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren Jason (Jessica) Farnsworth, Jared (Lindsey) Farnsworth, Jill (Michael) Ellison, John Olesen, Sean Farnsworth, Alex Farnsworth, Ian Piper and Brendon Piper; Step-granddaughter, Cassie Goldenstien; and six great grandchildren. It pleased the Almighty God to call out of this life, Mrs. Carolyn Moreen Allen Schroeder Hornung on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 while in her home in Valentine, Nebraska after she had patiently endured many mentally taxing physical health related trials without complaint. Carolyn was born October 18, 1938 at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. The new baby was welcomed home by parents, James H. Allen and Esther Weyers Allen, and older brother James W. Allen. Younger brothers Richard Allen and Terry Allen later joined the young family. She entered the Kingdom of God through holy baptism at an early age, later renewing her dedication to the Lord as a young lady. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957. She later added to her education by graduating from Christ for the Nations Bible College in 1988. She was united in holy wedlock on June 20, 1957 to Mr. Robert Donald Schroeder. To this union six children were born, two sons and four daughters. Carolyn conducted her life with a gentle spirit, faithfulness, kindness, and support of her family as a true Proverbs 31 woman. After the death of her first husband, she was married to Casper Hornung, Jr. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Casper Hornung, Jr.; daughters: Kim (Jim) Reimers, Cherrie Schroeder, Julie (Hugh) Rechner and Konni (Rowdy) Kluender; brother Richard (Gayle) Allen; sister-in-law Ann “Cookie” Allen; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sons: Craig Robert Schroeder and Michael Allen Schroeder; her parents; and brothers: James H., James W. and Terry.

Interment is at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine, Nebraska.

John “Clem” Clement Carr Jr., age 83, of Farnam, Nebraska, passed away December 5, 2020, at Kearney Regional Medical Center, Kearney, Nebraska. He was born July 2, 1937 in Yankton, South Dakota to John Clement Sr. and Eva (Chausser) Carr.

Clem graduated from Lincoln Cathedral High School with the class of 1955, then went to Doane University for one year to pay football. He met Doris Shambaugh in Lincoln, Nebraska. They married June 11, 1960. To this union, 3 daughters were born, Angie, Connie and Christie. The couple lived all over Nebraska following Clem’s job with the State of Nebraska. In December 1997, after working for the State for 35 years, he retired in Bridgeport, Nebraska. He loved deer hunting, camping, fishing, Nebraska football and hunting in the sandhills of Nebraska. Clem harvested a deer for the last 53 years on the Dub’s Ranch.

Survivors include his 3 daughters; Angie (Nick) Lincoln of Kilgore, Nebraska, Connie (Greg) Drake of Elmwood, Nebraska, Christie (Tim) Aanenson of Farnam, Nebraska; 1 sister; Sister Rita Carr, St. Catharine, Kentucky; 6 grandchildren; JayCee (Matt) Holthaus of Summerfield, Kansas, Kylie (Chad) Kasperbauer of Spalding, Nebraska, Brody (Abby Smith) Drake of Elmwood, Nebraska, T.J. John "Clem" Clement Carr, Jr.  (1937-2020)

Dallas Eugene White, age 88, of North Platte, Nebraska died December 4, 2020 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He was born February 5, 1932, to Leonard White and Nola (Ryker) White in North Platte.

Dallas graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 1949. He entered the United States Army, serving in Korea. He returned to North Platte where he was a brand inspector with Glen Helberg. Dallas married Nita Clafflin in February 1958. To this union two children were born; Dallas and Monty.

Dallas farmed and worked as a carpenter for many years. In 1979 he married Rosemary Towne and they owned and operated the Rambler Motel in North Platte for many years. Rosemary and Nita preceded him in death in 2003. He loved animals, especially his dog, and rodeoed in his younger years. He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather. A very giving person, he had a sweet tooth, and loved being with people. Enjoyed music, going to dances at the Senior Center, dressed to impress, complete with a tie, cowboy hat and good smelling cologne, and loved listening to the music; as well as being musical himself, playing the violin with his brother and grandfather.

Survivors include his brother Don (Judy) White of Mullen, Nebraska, son; Dallas (Renee) White of North Platte, Nebraska, daughter-in-law; Cindy White, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, step-children; Cathy (Roger) Kennicutt, and Steve Walker, Gothenburg, Nebraska, Gayle Anderson, Loveland, Colorado and Marsha Lippstreu, Missouri, 6 grand-children; Laci (Danny) McCallum, Collierville, Tennessee, Lee (Shaylee) White, Megan (Ryan) Kelly, North Platte. Elsie Smith  (1928-2020)

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Gary L. Wegner of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on December 3, 2020 at UNMC-Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Gary was born on June 26, 1943 in Bloomfield, Nebraska to Orlin and Edna (Huetig) Wegner.&nbsp; After graduating from Bloomfield High School in 1961, he enlisted in the Air Force, where he served for four years as an airplane mechanic.&nbsp; Then he served as a dispatcher for the Nebraska State patrol for more than 40 years, first in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, then in North Platte, NE where he eventually became a communications supervisor. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;For 55 years, Gary was a member of the American Legion Post 163 in North Platte. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Gary loved to fish for trout with his sister, Ellen, and hunt for turkey and deer with his brother-in-law, Lowell.&nbsp; Lowell's nephews and Steve &amp; Wes Vawser.&nbsp; He spent several weeks each year at the family ranch in Northern Nebraska, where he sprayed weeds and mowed the large yard and lane as an excuse to spend time outdoors, enjoying nature.&nbsp; He was an excellent gardener, sharing his produce with his friends and neighbors. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Gary is survived by his sister, LaRae (Lowell) Vawser of Fairbury, Nebraska; nieces, Janet (William) Bauer of Gering, Nebraska and Laura (Kent) Gilbert of Hastings, Nebraska; nephew, Daniel Vawser of Dardenne Prairie, Missouri; and eight great-great nieces and nephews. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Ellen Wegner. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte, Nebraska with Pastor Gary Smith officiating, with a private family burial following at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska.&nbsp; Visitation and book signing will be on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.&nbsp; Memorials may be sent to the Nebraska State Patrol Foundation. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The service will be live streamed via Carpenter Memorial Chapel's Facebook page for those that cannot attend.&nbsp; Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte, Nebraska is entrusted with arrangements.&nbsp; Online condolences may be directed to www.carpentermemorial.com.

Gary F. Glinn  (1949-2020)

Paul Marshall Von Loh was born in Lexington, Nebraska on December 7, 1956 to Harold and Vivian (Cooley) Von Loh of Bertrand, Nebraska. He passed peacefully at home in Broken Bow, Nebraska on December 4, 2020 at age 63.

He grew up in Bertrand and graduated High School in May 1975. He served in the US Air Force from December 1975 to June 1980 where he attained the rank of Senior Airman. He received a BS in Computer Science and an MS in Statistics from Colorado State University. Paul retired as a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, PMP From Von Loh Associates of Colorado

He as an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, his precious German shorthair dogs, camping, motorcycling, and horses.

Paul is survived by his beautiful wife, Lynn, sisters Kathy (John) Vetick and Marth (Bill) Ford, brother Darik Von Loh, sister-in-law Jackie (John) Von Loh, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many loved neighbors and friends.

Paul Marshall Von Loh  (1956-2020)

Russell Dean Tunison of Cozad, Nebraska passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at the age of 62. Russell was born March 15, 1958 in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Sylvester and Mabel (Cloyd) Tunison. He grew up in Gothenburg, but moved to Cozad with his family in 1976. Russell graduated from Cozad High School. In May of 1977, he started working at Monroe Auto, until the plant closed in 2011. 

In December of 1982, Russell was blessed with a daughter, Chasity. He married Danielle on August 3, 1985, and gained two more children, which they raised together. Russell loved fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He loved being a "Papa" and telling everyone about his grandchildren. 

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Violet Hayes and brother, LeRoy Tunison. 

Survivors include his wife Danielle; children, Chasity (Scott) Knoles of Grant, Nebraska,&nbsp; Tonya (Jeremy) Smith of Lexington, Nebraska and Julius (Kate) Chavez of Kearney, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren; brother, Frank (Patricia) Tunison of Cozad, Nebraska; sister, Lorene Parsons of Cozad, Nebraska; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Russell Dean Tunison  (1958-2020)

Michael W. Gregg, age 29, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Kearney, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the KPC Promise Hospital in Overland Park, Kansas.

Michael was born November 16, 1991 in Yankton, South Dakota to Michael R. Gregg and Jennifer Strickland. The family lived in Ponca, Lexington, Holdrege, Overton in Nebraska and then moved to Kearney, Nebraska in 2007. Michael joined the Army at the age of seventeen and graduated from Kearney High school in 2010.

Michael was united in marriage to Holly Christensen on May 25, 2014 in Julesburg, Colorado. The couple would later divorce.

Michael served his country in Kuwait and Qatar as well as being with the Honor Guard for many military funerals. He earned the Army Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Component Medal, National Defense Medal, War On Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and the Global War On Terrorism Service Medal. He was the Co of the Nebraska A.P. III%. After his deployment, Michael was injured in an ATV accident on May 11, 2019 which prevented him from leaving on another deployment.

Michael lived life to the fullest and even with his injuries maintained a positive attitude. He wanted to become a police officer.

Michael enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and spending time with his daughter, Eraleigh, and his nieces and nephews.

Michael W. Gregg  (1991-2020)

Mary Lou Robles, age 81, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the Lexington Regional Health Center.

She was born January 28, 1939 in Hershey, Nebraska to Braulio and Mary (Picon’) Barron. In 1940 the family moved to Lexington, Nebraska. She attended school in Lexington and graduated high school in 1957. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

After high school she traveled around doing different jobs but came back to Lexington and started a lifelong love of nursing. She began as a CNA at the old hospital on Washington Street, and then went to work at the Tri County Hospital, which is now the Lexington Regional Health Center. She worked there until retiring in 2009. She loved what she did and loved her local hospital and all the people that she worked with through the years, towards the end she had said that she wasn’t going to be transferred on to another facility, she wanted to be at Lexington Regional, she had worked there her whole nursing career, and had taken treatment there for so long it was like a second home to her, and the staff of Nurses and Doctors were all her family, it gave her comfort being there, and we thank you for that. We will truly never know how many lives she had touched while she was at the hospital, whether it was helping to bring a new life into the world, or taking care of a patient in need, or consoling a family after someone had passed… she will be missed.

Mary Lou’s greatest loves in life were family, friends, the Cornhuskers, the Broncos, and her dogs Bubba and Tiny, some days not necessarily in that order. If you were to stop by for a visit you were going to be there awhile. She was either going to put another pot of coffee on, offer you a cold beverage, or fix you something to eat. Almost everyone in her circle received one of her afghans when there was a birth in their family, she needed to stay busy, and would sit up at night and crochet while she was watching her shows. She had a genuine concern for how you were doing and what was going on in your life, and if you needed help all you had to do was ask. It was not uncommon on game day at her house to have two T.V’s going at the same time, on the same game, volume UP !, so that she wouldn’t miss anything. She really enjoyed going to Lincoln to tailgate, to go to the stadium early to listen to the band warm up, cheer the Huskers on before the game, and then to head to Buzzard Billy’s to get her favorite table on the patio.

When she was younger, she enjoyed her bowling league, and talked often about the friends she had made during that time and the trips and “Adventures” they had.

She enjoyed all her kids-grandkids and extended family’s activities, and had her refrigerator covered with pictures, newspaper clippings, and cards from all her family and friends. She very much enjoyed receiving Christmas cards with pictures to see how the “little ones have changed”.

Survivors include her children, Phil (Paula) Robles of Cozad, Nebraska, Felix (Yvonne) Robles of Laona, Wisconsin, Mary Elizabeth (Robert) Speer of Lexington, NE, Jon (Julie) Robles of Lexington, NE.  </figure>Mary Lou Robles, age 81, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the Lexington Regional Health Center.She was born January 28, 1939 in Hershey, Nebraska to Braulio and Mary (Picon’) Barron. In 1940 the family moved to Lexington, Nebraska. She attended school in Lexington and graduated high school in 1957. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.After high school she traveled around doing different jobs but came back to Lexington and started a lifelong love of nursing. She began as a CNA at the old hospital on Washington Street, and then went to work at the Tri County Hospital, which is now the Lexington Regional Health Center. She worked there until retiring in 2009. Mary Lou Robles  (1939-2020)

Marilyn June Murphy, age 78, of North Platte, Nebraska died at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska on December 6, 2020. Marilyn was born June 11, 1942, to Cecil and Maude (Staples) McKenney in North Platte, where she grew up.&nbsp; She graduated from North Platte High School then worked at the Greyhound Bus Depot. On December 26, 1964, Marilyn married Curtis Thomas Murphy in North Platte.&nbsp; Since Curtis was in the Air Force, Marilyn lived with family in town and in Detroit, Michigan.&nbsp; After Curtis was discharged they moved to Oregon, living in Portland then Milwakne.&nbsp; Marilyn worked for Precision Cast Plastic Parts for 24 years then enjoyed being a housewife.&nbsp; She returned to North Platte in 2019 to be closer to family. Marilyn loved being around family and enjoyed playing games and was a collector of toy memorabilia. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister and her husband, Frances and Raymond Barnett; brothers, Robert and Donald McKenney; and brother-in-law, Harry Sims. Marilyn is survived by her brother, Jim (Pam) McKenney, and sister, Harriett Sims, of North Platte; and other family. Louis Roscoe Vath, age 89, of Sutherland, Nebraska passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 6, 2020. Louis was born on November 17, 1931, in Ogallala, Nebraska to Roscoe Joy and Julia Jane (Vasa) Vath, the second of eight children.&nbsp; He attended Arthur County Country School from 1st to 8th grades then went to boarding school in Sidney, Nebraska to attend Catholic high school.&nbsp; Louis graduated from St. Patrick's Catholic School with the Class of '49. On August 21, 1951, Louis was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Edna Horn, at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala, Nebraska.&nbsp; They were married for nearly 65 years and had 9 children; Louis was so proud of them all. Louis and Mary started their life together on a farm 7 ½ miles northwest of Keystone, Nebraska and he worked at the missile sites in Kimball, Nebtraska for a short time.&nbsp; On May 19, 1961, the Vath family settled in Sutherland, Nebraska where Louis has lived ever since.&nbsp; He had worked on the I-80 project in Grand Island, Nebraska, then went to work at the Sutherland Co-op (now known as Hi-Line Co-op) in 1962 until retiring in 1996. Louis was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.&nbsp; He liked to fish and hunt and play Bingo and cards as well as having coffee with the boys.&nbsp; Most of all, Louis loved his family.&nbsp; He was a compassionate and caring person who had a big loving heart, an infectious smile and gave heartfelt hugs, which will surely be missed. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary, and their children, Louis LeRoy, Michael 'Heavy' and Phyllis Brush; his parents, Roscoe and Julia; brothers, Anthony, Richard and Lesley; sister, Leona Clouatre; grandchildren, Robert 'Bobby' Vath, Jr. and Rebecca Vath; and brothers-in-law, Jack Schaeffer and Felix Clouatre. Louis Roscoe Vath  (1931-2020)

Eunice LaVaughn Brown, age 91, formerly of North Platte, Nebraska passed away Friday December 4, 2020, at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Eunice was born April 8, 1929, to Edna and Harry Willard in Miller, Nebraska. The family lived in Grant, Big Springs, Chappell and eventually Hershey, Nebraska. Eunice graduated high school in Curtis, Nebraska.

On July 7, 1948, Eunice married Clarence Brown in Hershey. Eunice enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She volunteered with the Girl Scouts, PTA, Christians Women's Club and Great Plains Health, where she has the record for the most volunteer hours, accumulating over 11,000 hours.

She is survived by her daughters, Madeline (Kerry) Miller, of Loveland, CO, and Gaylene (Leroy) Brindle, of Brady; sister, Lila Rapp of Kansas City, KS; sister-in-law, Dorothy Willard, of North Platte; five grandchildren, Shawn, Christian, Dawn, Jason and Trina; eight great-grandchildren, a great-great- granddaughter; and other family.

Eunice was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents, Harry and Edna Willard; brother Lynn Willard; and nephew Randy Willard.

Carol Marie Miller Nelsen was born in St. Edward, Nebraska on February 8, 1923 and passed away at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hay Springs, Nebraska on December 3, 2020.&nbsp; Carol was born February 8, 1923 in St. Edward, Nebraska to Oliver and Jennie Miller. She graduated from St. Edward High School and afterward attended technical school for clerical work.&nbsp; Carol was joined in marriage to Earl Christian Nelsen on June 24, 1943 in St. Paul, Nebraska. Early years were spent in St. Paul and then they moved to Valentine, Nebraska where they started the family business, Nelsen Plumbing and Heating. Six children were born to this union, five sons and one daughter.

Carol had a deep love of family and enjoyed time spent with family activities.&nbsp; She was always gentle, kind and giving. Carol’s faith in the Lord was especially important to her. She was faithful in reading the scriptures and praying daily and loved listening to the old hymns, among her favorites were How Great Thou Art and Amazing Grace.&nbsp; &nbsp;Carol loved gardening, whether it was planting beautiful flowers or planting a garden to receive the harvest for cooking. &nbsp;&nbsp;She also had a love for camping, crafts, and there was always coffee and snacks to be found for anyone visiting.

Carol is survived by her children, Dennis (Nancy), Donald, (Virginia), Gordon (Ruth), Larry (Joyce), Merrell (Kristi), and Cindy (Andrew Hamre).&nbsp; Grandchildren include Chrystal, Dana, Daryl, Natalie, Jack, William, Jim, Jennifer, Miquan, Kristy, Michelle, Kerstin, Nika, Benjamin, Cameron &amp; McKenzie, along with their families, including 16 Great Grandchildren.

Carol is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Christian Nelsen, her sister, Doris Eckwald and her parents, Oliver Miller and Jennie Peterson Miller.

A graveside service will be held at Mt. Donald Ray Gunther was born on May 26, 1933 at Sargent, NE to Cyrus and Eunice (Sevier) Gunther.&nbsp; The family moved to the Ash Creek Community south west of Broken Bow in 1948.&nbsp; Don attended Broken Bow High School and graduated with the class of 1950.&nbsp; Don served in the US Army from May of 1953 to August of 1955.&nbsp; After his time in the Army Don returned to the family farm where he continued to farm and ranch with his parents and brother.&nbsp; In the spring of 2005 Don retired and sold the farm.&nbsp; He moved to Broken Bow.&nbsp;

Don enjoyed going to coffee and finding new roads to drive around the countryside on.&nbsp;

Don is survived by his brother Dwain (Emma Lou) Gunther of Broken Bow, nieces Sherilyn Hendricks and Tammy Mattox, nephews Dean (Janice) Hendricks, Neil (Vicky) Hendricks, Gene (Laura) Hendricks, Randell (Erin) Gunther and Brad (Margie) Gunther.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Delores Hendricks, niece Janet Hendricks, infant nephews Dennis and Ronald Gunther and a great nephew Kevin Hendricks.

Claudia Hernandez-Alcaraz  (1988-2020)

Sandra Lynn Richardson, 68 of Cozad, Nebraska passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Emerald Nursing Home in Cozad.

Sandra was born January 18, 1952 in Redwood, California to Clifford James and Ramona (Brown) Richardson.

Sandra moved from California to Colorado Springs, CO. in 1964 where she attended Rocky Mountain Rehab. Later she attended Laradon Hall School, to assist her in learning her living skills. She later lived on her own in Colorado Springs until moving to Nebraska in 1986.

Sandra enjoyed embroidering, playing cards, watching movies, coloring books, and listening to Elvis Presley. She loved everyone and no one was ever a stranger.

Survivors include two sisters: Sue Sanchez of Dodge City, Kansas and Sherry Grippin also of Dodge City, Kansas, two nephews: Christopher Rogers of Dodge City, Kansas and Brian Barcroft of Lincoln, Nebraska.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents CJ and wife Ramona and a brother-in-law, J.R. Sanchez.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor James Morton, officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The service will be live-streamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.

Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington, NE.

Memorials are suggested to Special Olympics in her honor.

Dennis Floyd Goings was born February 26, 1944, to Floyd Lecurgus and Sophia Stella (Kerchal) Goings at Chase County Hospital, Imperial, NE. Dennis graduated from Wauneta High School on May 7, 1962, and continued his education attending Parks Business School in Denver, CO. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Data Processing and was employed in several different positions assisting his brother-in-law; Frank Williams at Estes Park, Colorado. Dennis also operated the Tramway while living in Estes Park. Dennis married Colleen Rae Knotwell on June 6, 1971, at the United Methodist Church of Wauneta and the coupled settled on the farm in Northeast Chase County where they made their life long home. To this union two sons were born; Bradley Eugene and Billy Jo. Several of their first years of marriage were spent custom harvesting from Oklahoma to North Dakota. Later in life, Dennis was content to stay at home farming and raising cattle. Dennis also enjoyed driving convertibles. Dennis passed away Tuesday morning, December 1, 2020, at the Wauneta Care and Therapy Center in Wauneta, NE. He was 76 years of age. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Colleen, sons; Bradley Goings and wife, Kathryn, of Ft. Collins, CO, Billy Goings of rural Wauneta, NE. Grandchildren; Sophia Goings, Lincoln Goings, and Brittyn Goings. Sisters-in-Law; Kay Goings, Carol (Steve) Thompson, Barb (Gordon) Hinricks, and Patti (Lonnie) Kitt.
