Cheryl Lynn White age 59 of North Platte passed away at her home on May 4, 2020.

Cheryl was born on July 20, 1960 in North Platte to Hershel White and Carolyn Welch. She grew up and&nbsp;attended schools in North Platte, graduating in 1978. She was employed at B &amp; D Office Supply, then&nbsp;transitioning into Senior Home Health Care.

Cheryl loved camping, tanning, and swimming. She was highly involved in Paws-a-tive Partners, being an&nbsp;avid dog lover, especially her golden retriever, Zoey. She was also an avid Husker fan.

Survivors include siblings, Angie (Derek Peavey) Welch of Golden, CO and Michael (Rachel) Welch of&nbsp;North Platte; niece, Breanna; nephew, Lathan; cousin, Theresa Freeburg; numerous other family&nbsp;members; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, David White.

Memorials are suggested to Paws-a-tive Partners and online condolences may be shared at&nbsp;www.adamsswanson.com.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Kelly was born Kelly Doyle Walker on November 29, 1953 in North Platte, Nebraska to George Lewis and Donna Marie Walker.&nbsp; He was adopted by Vernard "Jack" Oliver, shortly after his mother married Jack.&nbsp; Kelly attended school in Stapleton, Nebraska and North Platte.&nbsp; He joined the Job Corp in 1971 and received his G.E.D.&nbsp; He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1972 and was medically discharged after his feet kept swelling while marching.&nbsp; He worked as a construction worker and truck driver in Nebraska, Colorado and Texas. &nbsp;&nbsp; Kelly moved to Superior, Nebraska in the 1990's, and to Hastings, Nebraska in 2018. &nbsp;&nbsp; He passed away in Hastings, Nebraska on May 4, 2020 after a battle with the Coronavirus. &nbsp;&nbsp; Kelly had a passion for cars.&nbsp; He was granted a wish by AseraCare Hospice and Good Samaritan Society in Hastings last summer when they arranged for him to go for a ride in a 1965 Pontiac GTO.&nbsp; Besides his love for cars, he adored his dog, Amy Sue. &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his biological father, Buster Walker; his dad, Jack Olivier; his mother, Donna Oliver; and three brothers, Gary Lee Oliver, Randall Jack Oliver and David Eugene Oliver. &nbsp;&nbsp; Kelly is survived by his daughter, Hilary Hessel of Albuquerque, New Mexico and one grandchild; sisters, Debra Vieweg of Kiowa, Colorado and Sandy Tanner of Fort Collins, Colorado; his brother, Rodger Kevin Oliver of Cheyenne, Wyoming; an uncle, Virgil Rodgers of North Platte, Nebraska; an aunt, Lynis Hefner of White Deere, Texas; 12 nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins. &nbsp;&nbsp; Kelly will be buried at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.&nbsp; A graveside service will be held at a later date.

Betty E. Etherton, 89, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died May 8, 2020 in Gothenburg. &nbsp;

She was born June 9, 1930 in Gothenburg, NE, daughter of William and Agnes Peterson.

She was born and raised north of Gothenburg.Betty graduated from Gothenburg High School with the class of 1947. After graduation Betty moved to Lexington where she worked at the Northwest Telephone Company. Later, she moved back to Gothenburg and went to work for attorney William S. Padley and then later worked for the Gothenburg Telephone Company. Betty met Kenneth Etherton in 1953 and they were united in marriage on September 26, 1954 at the Evangelical Free Church in Gothenburg. Betty worked side by side with Ken on the farm and also provided janitorial services for the District 29 school for 23 years.

Betty was a member of the extension club, white cross, women's missionary society, Christian women's club, Betty's club, and the Red Hat society. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting many things, cooking for family as well as with the supper club.

Survivors include &nbsp;three daughters, &nbsp;Koya (Garnold) Kreft of Cozad, NE, Ginger (Craig) Gies of Lincoln, NE, Holly (Mark) Ballmer of Gothenburg, NE, six grandchildren, Kaleb (Amanda) Kreft of Portland, OR, Rachel (Gregory) Franklin of Murfreesboro, TN, Luke (Jenna) Ballmer of Kearney, Brooke (Josh) Kendle of Lincoln, Olivia Gies of Lincoln, and Madison Gies of Minneapolis, MN, and 4 great-grandchild Greyson of Lincoln, Jaxson of Lincoln, and Briar and Collins of Kearney.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ken, parents William and Agnes and brother Harold Peterson.

Melvin Keith Kempke, age 72, of North Platte, passed away at home on&nbsp;Thursday, May 7, 2020.

Melvin was born October 5, 1947, to Maynard and Velda Kempke in Nebraska&nbsp;City. He grew up in Southeastern Nebraska then after high school he&nbsp;graduated from Milford Community College in 1968 with a degree in&nbsp;Construction.

In May of 1969 Melvin married Nyhlia Farris in Grand Island. They moved&nbsp;to North Platte in 1971 where they raised 2 sons, Keith and Chad.

Mel worked for Piester Construction building new homes from 1971 to '78&nbsp;then hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad.&nbsp; He retired in 2010 as an&nbsp;engineer manager.

Mel loved woodworking, geo-caching, camping, and touring the US on his&nbsp;Goldwing trike with Nyhlia, and was a member of First Evangelical&nbsp;Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Maynard and Velda, of Syracuse;&nbsp;and his father-in-law, Edwin Farris, of Grand Island.

Mel is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nyhlia, of North Platte; sons,&nbsp;Keith (Becky Lamberty, of North Platte and Chad (Treva Barker, of&nbsp;Avondale, AZ; three grandchildren, Eli and Ruth, of North Platte and&nbsp;Aryn Sullivan, of Omaha; brothers, Merlin (Merna) Kempke, of Fremont and&nbsp;Michael Kempke, of Lincoln; mother-in-law Viola Farris, of Grand Island;&nbsp;five sisters-in-law, six brothers-in-law and other family.

The matriarch of a loving family, Irene Elizabeth (Klein) Lawson entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, May 7, 2020.

Irene was born in Lincoln to parents John and Anna Marie (Spadt) Klein&nbsp;on May 8, 1927.&nbsp; The Klein family moved to Cozad where she and her&nbsp;siblings helped their parents farm in rural Cozad. After high school&nbsp;graduation, Irene lived briefly in Denver, CO,&nbsp; then in North Platte,&nbsp;Gering, Cheyenne, WY, and finally returning to North Platte where she&nbsp;was residing in Centennial Park Retirement Village at the time of her&nbsp;passing.

Irene married Gene James and to this union they raised five children and&nbsp;later divorced.&nbsp; On July 16, 1967, Irene was united in marriage to Roger&nbsp;Lawson, Sr. in North Platte and together they made a large, blended&nbsp;family which Irene loved, especially during holidays.

Irene was a kind, loving woman who greatly loved her family and cared&nbsp;for others.&nbsp; She enjoyed traveling to new places, camping, dancing and&nbsp;cooking.&nbsp; Irene especially loved presenting handmade needlepoint gifts&nbsp;to friends and family and playing Bingo and other games with her&nbsp;friends.&nbsp; Irene also enjoyed her relationship with the Episcopal Church,&nbsp;treasuring the guidance of Rev. Dr. Timothy Davies of Cheyenne.

Being the youngest of the Klein family, Irene was preceded in death by&nbsp;her parents, brothers, Jacob and Edward Klein and sisters, Marie Love,&nbsp;Martha Schroeder and Rosie Olds; her husband, Roger Lawson Sr.; sons,&nbsp;Jerry and Gary James; son-in-law, Al Kosmicki; and grandsons, Eric&nbsp;James, Jeff Lindholm and Jeremy McCain.

Irene is survived by her daughters, Judy Kosmicki, of Grand Island and&nbsp;Connie Breach, of North Platte; son, Bill (Diane) James, of Marietta,&nbsp;GA; stepson, Roger, Jr. (Marlene) Lawson, of Cheyenne, WY, stepdaughter,&nbsp;Sharron Thompson (Glen Belknap, of Alliance; son-in-law, Gene Breach,&nbsp;of North Platte; daughter-in-law, Pam James, of Longmont, CO; as well as&nbsp;numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren,&nbsp;other family and her friends.

Franklin William James Carland was the youngest son born to Crystal Carland on October 16, 2003. He passed unexpectedly on May 5, 2020.

Franklin grew up with his older brother and a large family full of cousins who he loved dearly. At the age of four, he met Bruce Swanson, the man who instantly became his father and mentor. He also gained two sisters that day. He wanted to do everything Dad did and loved to learn about carpentry and mechanics.

Franklin attended North Platte Public Schools and would have been member of the graduating class of 2022. Franklin was a very social person and made friends easily. He had an amazing spirit to which young children and animals were drawn to. He was a very goal-oriented and passionate young man. When he set his mind to something, he would make it happen. He took pride in everything he did and worked hard to become independent and self-sufficient.

Franklin loved many things including joking around, helping his Dad tease Mom, arguing with his brother and spending time with his friends. He enjoyed growing up next to Cody Park and spending summers at the pool. He especially loved driving and spent as much time as he could behind the wheel or making improvements to his vehicles. He was the funniest person and always had a witty response to everything! He would give you the shirt off his back but would not share his Cheetos. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He is survived by his parents, Crystal and Bruce; brother, Patrick (Kylee Simants); sisters, Vanessa

(Mauricio Alves) and Emma Swanson; grandparents, Frank and Sandi Carland, Katie and Dewayne Park, Randy and Anita Swanson and Theresa Swanson; aunts, Misty (Fred) Murphy, April (Rodney) Doherty, Amber Miller, Crystal (Matt) Welch, and Heather (Travis) Dircksen; his 23 cousins; his best friends, Josh Haley (and family, Jacob Cooper, Gage Knudsen, Jordy Cox; and his girlfriend, Gabby Brennan. He had many more "adopted" Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Parents and Grandparents.

He is also survived by his biological father, James Carlson; grandmother, Diane Carlson; and his half siblings, Cynthia and Wyatt Carlson whom he had hoped to finally meet this summer.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Charles Carland, Mary Ellen Carland, Gail William Jefferson, his "G.G." Shirley Osborn and grandfather, Gerald Carlson.

Clyde Nichols, 83, of North Platte, died at Great Plains Health on May&nbsp;6, 2020.

Clyde was born at Goodland, KS, to Clyde and Almima Woodard on April 25,&nbsp;1937, and was later adopted by his stepfather, Earl Nichols.&nbsp; When Clyde&nbsp;was 8, the family moved to Nebraska, living north of Stapleton for a&nbsp;couple years before moving to North Platte in 1950.

Clyde enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in '54 thus beginning his 20 year&nbsp;career in the military.&nbsp; He later worked at Hill Air Force Base in Salt&nbsp;Lake City loading air crafts and drove a truck.

On July 31, 1976, Clyde married Barbara Ann Peterson at Kaysville, UT.&nbsp;&nbsp;By 1989 Clyde returned to North Platte where he has resided ever since.

Over the years Clyde enjoyed starting his day with his buddies having&nbsp;coffee at The Diner.&nbsp; He liked watching Western movies, listening to old&nbsp;country music, and racing cars.&nbsp; He also liked antique cars and enjoyed&nbsp;doing yard work, caring for his flowers and cooking, fried green&nbsp;tomatoes was his specialty.&nbsp; Clyde was a member of D.A.V.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; father, Clyde Woodard;&nbsp;parents, Almima and Earl Nichols; stepfathers, Arthur Mickish, Oscar&nbsp;Hale and Sidney Baker; brothers, Eldon Nichols and John 'Jack' Nichols,&nbsp;Sr.; and grandson, Eric.

Patrick Alfred Butera, 80, of North Platte, passed away at the North&nbsp;Platte Care Center on Friday, May 1, 2020.

Pat was born in Omaha on February 15, 1940, to Alfred and Wilhelmina&nbsp;(Hawes) Butera and grew up on a farm near Loup City. Following his high&nbsp;school graduation in 1958, Pat enlisted with the U.S. Navy and served&nbsp;most of his time in Korea.



Following his discharge he returned home and went on to attend the&nbsp;University of Nebraska at Lincoln.&nbsp; He earned his Bachelor's Degree then&nbsp;worked as a stock broker for a while before going back to school.&nbsp; Pat&nbsp;received his Master's Degree in Education and went on to a career in&nbsp;teaching.&nbsp; In 1984 he moved to North Platte where he taught business&nbsp;classes, Saturday School and helped with the NPHS DECA Club.&nbsp; After 18&nbsp;years of teaching, he retired and moved to California to work on a boy's&nbsp;ranch.&nbsp; He later moved to Arkansas to help rescue dogs with his sister,&nbsp;Sharon, then returned to North Platte.

On October 1, 1972, Pat married Gail Jean Bauhard in Loup City and they&nbsp;have been together for nearly 50 years.

Pat was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Butera; mother and&nbsp;stepfather, Wilhelmina and Sig Skibinski; and brother, Michael Butera.

Survivors include his wife, Gail, of North Platte, and their cat,&nbsp;Malekah; sisters, Cheryl&nbsp; 'Cher' (Ed) Upton, of Oklahoma City, Sandy&nbsp;Wilson, of Hastings, Sharon Goff, of McRae, Arkansas, and Shelley (Paul)&nbsp;Freeman, of Lincoln; brothers, Dan Skibinski and Joe (Julie) Skibinski,&nbsp;all of Loup City; and other family.

In keeping with Pat's wishes, cremation was chosen and there will be no&nbsp;public services.&nbsp; Burial of his cremains will be in Fort McPherson&nbsp;National Cemetery.

Janice Roberts, 71, of North Platte, died Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Great Plains Health.

Janice was born in Imperial to William and Thelma Gibb on June 23, 1948. The Gibb family moved to Oxford in 1959 and that is where Jan grew up and attended school. She later met Loren Roberts and the two were married on June 7, 1969, in Stockville. They lived in Oxford for a while before moving to Holdrege where Jan stayed home with the kids. After they were grown, she worked various jobs in Holdrege.

Jan was a pet lover and especially loved her dog, Sissy. She was also a collector of owls and angels. Jan was a good mom and loved being a grandma.

She leaves behind her mother, Thelma Gibb, of Holdrege, and children, Loren ‘Punk’ (Brenda) Roberts, of North Platte and Laura (Scott) Scholl, of Lincoln; grandchildren, Zachery (Sarah Jane) Scholl, Taylor Scholl, Sarah Ann Scholl, Colton (Jessica) Wohlers and Lindsey (Tony) Mercer; great-grandchildren, Brynlee, Cyrus and Rhyland; sister, Joyce Gibb, of Holdrege; brothers, Rick (Roxie) Gibb, of Atlanta, NE and Raymond (Kathy) Gibb, of Oxford; sister-in-law, Joyce (Marion) Walkington, of Holdrege; her good friend, Sam Parker, of North Platte; and her dog, Sissy; as well as many other family members.

Janice Marie Roberts (1948-2020

Rick D Harness, 75, of North Platte passed away on May 4, 2020, of natural causes at his home. Rick was born in Billings Montana on February 26, 1945 to Dale Harness and Geraldine (Fisher) Harness.

Rick attended Longmont High School and graduated in 1963. Rick also attended CU in Boulder CO., in 1964 until he enlisted into the Navy, 1965-1969 and served in Vietnam. Rick was on the Independence Ship upon returning home to Longmont, Co.

Rick married Lois Stetson (Millsap, August 1, 1970, they divorced in 1990. To this marriage two most wonderful children were born, son, Troy Harness and daughter, Brandy Story.

Rick began working with his father Dale as a cook at the Long Peak Café in Longmont from 1969-1973. Rick was attending ETI in Denver for Electronics. After graduation Rick and his family moved to North Platte, NE, where Rick worked for Murphy’s Music.

In the fall of 1978 Rick started working at the Gerald Gentleman Station in Sutherland, retiring in 2006.

Rick married Lisa (Brown) Harness, August 29, 2000, they lived in Hershey until 2019 when they moved to North Platte.

Rick loved his CU Buffs, Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets. He like to bowl, play cards, and fantasy football.

Rick is survived by his wife, Lisa; sister Patti Watson (Kevin) Austerman of Longmont, CO; son, Troy (Kim) Harness, LaSalle CO; daughter, Brandy (Bob) Story, North Platte; stepdaughter, Samantha (Brian) Muggy; he was dearly loved by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson Scott Brown.

We are thankful to have shared his life, his stories, his “laugh”. Rick will be missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held at 1:00pm, Thursday, May 7, at Adams and Swanson Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kevin Hendricks officiating. Casual sportswear is welcomed. Private family burial will be held on Friday at Fort McPherson, near Maxwell, NE.

Violet “Vi” L. Eggleston age 92, of Oconto, NE passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the Great Plains Health Hospital in North Platte, NE.

Vi was born September 14, 1927 on Walker Hill about a half mile north of her present home, to Clifford and Leota (Flint) Martin. Her family made their home in the Sumner, Eddyville, and Oconto area. She graduated from Oconto High School. After graduation Vi attended College in Kearney and received her teaching certificate. She later taught in Lomax and Oconto.

On December 31, 1947, Vi, married Keith Eggleston in Oconto, NE. Vi told the story many times of the terrible snowstorm that day and the wedding flowers froze on the train coming to Oconto. To this union two children were born, Glenda and Dennis.

Vi’s many hobbies were baking, sewing, &amp; bird watching. Everyone was treated to the most wonderful sweet rolls and cinnamon rolls among many other treats. She loved sewing shirts, quilts, and pillows for her family. Her love for the birds was very evident by the many bird feeders in her yard. She loved watching them, especially the cardinals.

Vi was a member of the Oconto United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Vi leaves to mourn her daughter Glenda Thomas of Cozad, son Dennis (Connie) Eggleston of Oconto, one brother Roger (Sharon) Martin of Eddyville, sisters Bonnie Eggleston of Oconto, and Darlene (Verlouis) Forster of Smithfield, brothers-in-law Roger (Bev) Casey of Friendswood, TX, Lloyd (Sandy) Eggleston of Broken Bow, Chuck (Vicky) Eggleston of Gothenburg, sisters-in-law LaVonne (Gene) Oxford of Broken Bow, Loraine (Delbert) Rogers of Franklin, Judy (Maynard) Struempler of Oconto, and Jane (Nick) Liakos of Lawrence, KS, four grandchildren Brad (Shawna)Thomas of Sumner, Kim (Micky)Linder of Cozad, Jayson (Dani) Eggleston of Oconto, Clint Eggleston of Hazard, and five great-grandchildren Kisha, Riggin, Riata, Colbie, and Cooper.

Vi was preceded in death by her parents, husband Keith, great-grandson Colton, an infant brother, brother Clifford Martin, Jr, sisters Beulah Eggleston, Ruth Magoon, Virginia Coryell, brothers-in-law Kenneth Eggleston, Donnie Eggleston, Jim Davis, Glen Eggleston, Virgil Coryell, Sid Magoon, sisters-in-law Ella Mae Casey, and Pearl Martin.

A family Graveside Service and burial will be Saturday, May 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oconto Cemetery in Oconto, NE with Pastor Ryan Findley officiating. Violet 'Vi' L. Egglesston (1927-2020

John Edwin Furrow of Mullen, NE passed away April 27th, 2020.&nbsp; John was born to Lyle E. and Gladys G (VanDuesen) Furrow in their home south of Mullen.&nbsp; 

John was the youngest of six children that Lyle and Gladys raised in south Hooker County.&nbsp; John was a 1958 graduate of Mullen High School.&nbsp; After high school, John enlisted in the Army in 1958.&nbsp; He served in Panama and helped to map much of Central and South America. After being honorably discharged in 1961, he worked for the Bureau of Land Management in Colorado, Wyoming, and Oregon.&nbsp; In 1968, John returned to the Mullen area to help run the family ranch.&nbsp;

John met the love of his life, Jannet (Newman, and her 5 boys.&nbsp; They were wed July 24th, 1971.&nbsp; They added one more member to the family in December of 1973 when John Dean (J.D.) Furrow was born.&nbsp; John went to work for Mallory Sand and Gravel in 1973.&nbsp; He worked for Don Mallory for 16 years before opening a feed store in Mullen from 1989-1992.&nbsp; In “92” he went back to the gravel pit working for Rich Giles and G3.&nbsp; John retired from dredging gravel in 2009.&nbsp; 

During his life, John was very dedicated to American Legion Post 109 in Mullen.&nbsp; He very much enjoyed hanging the coffin flags at the cemetery or being in the firing squad for a deceased veteran. John was especially proud of the young men that the legionnaires sent to Cornhusker Boys’ State.&nbsp; John was also an avid reader and spent many years serving on the County Library Board.&nbsp; John always loved working at the library and seeing the kids of the community come in and read.

John is preceded in Death by his parents Lyle E. and Gladys G. (VanDuesen) Furrow.&nbsp; His sisters Georgia (Jodi) Oien, Lila Baldwin, and Phyllis Howard. 

John is survived by his brother Clifford Furrow of Alliance and his sister Pauline LeMay of Scottsbluff. John is also survived by his wife Jan (Newman) Furrow and their 6 sons, Lloyd (Bev) Maire of Grand Island, Floyd Maire of Phoenix, AZ, Robert (Robbie) Maire of Crete, Craig (Susan) Maire of Valentine, Todd Maire of Albuquerque, NM, and J.D. (Christi) Furrow of Merna.&nbsp; John has 16 grandkids and 12 great-grandchildren and counting.&nbsp;

Family Memorial Services for John will be at the Eclipse Church in southern Hooker County, Saturday, May 9th&nbsp;at 10:00 a.m. MT&nbsp; The services will be for family only and memorials can be sent to the Eclipse Church c/o Jim O’Brien or to the Mullen Alumni Association c/o Judy Ridenour. Alice L. Orr age 86 passed away at her home in North Platte, NE April 28, 2020 after a brief but courageous battle with lung cancer.

Alice was born November 9, 1933 to Roy and Lillian (Dillman) Reece in Mankato, KS. Alice’s family relocated to Fort Lupton, CO where Alice spent her young years.

Alice married Kenneth M. Davis on May 24, 1952 and they had two daughters. Alice was a dedicated ranch wife and devoted mother. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends and neighbors. Alice is a long-time member of the Twilight Twelve extension club of Stapleton, NE.

After Ken’s death in 1975 Alice moved to North Platte where she worked at ESU 16, The Ramada Inn and the North Platte country club.

Alice married Warren H. Orr on August 17, 1982. She and Warren enjoyed traveling and their lake home where they entertained family and friends.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters, husbands Kenneth Davis and Warren Orr.

Alice is survived by her daughters, Teresa Keslar, and Laura (Milton) Sexson; one brother Larry Reece of Jewell, KS; granddaughters, Heather (Sean) Stevens and Kimberly (Euan) Stevenson; grandsons Lance (Ashely) Sexson and Spencer (Shawna) Sexson; great grandchildren, Cassie (Wade) Speck, Kyle, Abby and Megan Stevens, Parker Tegtmeier, Hailey Sexson, Wyatt Sexson, Hailey Law, Sawyer Sexson and Chayse Sexson. Great great-granddaughter, Sutton June Speck; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Alice L. Orr (1933-2020

Peggy Ann Craig, age 61, of Lawton, OK, formerly of Gothenburg, died Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at her residence.

Peggy Ann Craig was born January 13, 1959 in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Wayne and Ruth Campbell. She grew up in Nebraska and later moved to Kansas. Peggy lived in Lawton for many years and worked at Johnson’s Bakery making doughnuts and at the time of her death worked for the Lawton Public Schools’early head start program as a volunteer Grandma.

She was a member of Cameron Baptist Church and had been very involved with the singles ministry. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting stuffed animals, watching cartoons and was a fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

She is survived by her children, Angela Roenne and husband Michael, Lincoln, Nebraska, Shona Craig, Central City, Nebraska, Johnny Ray Craig and wife Rebecca, Lawton and Felecia Craig, Lawton; nine grandchildren, Brianna Roenne, Rachel Roenne, Naomi Roenne, Toliver Webb, Kayona Pickering, Estrella Ontiveros, Anselmo Gutierrez, Victor Denofa and Arianna Craig; her sister, Geraldine Phillips-Payne; and her brother, Lee Campbell.

Her parents, a brother, Jack Campbell, and a granddaughter, Selena, preceded her in death.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the Grandview Cemetery near Gothenburg.  Due the the current COVID-19 pandemic we ask that you please be mindful of the current request for limited social contact of less than 10 people and that friends remain in there vehicles at the graveside.  We will have a speaker set up to help with you being able to hear and be a part of the service from you vehicles.&nbsp;&nbsp;

 </figure>Peggy Ann Craig, age 61, of Lawton, OK, formerly of Gothenburg, died Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at her residence.Peggy Ann Craig was born January 13, 1959 in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Wayne and Ruth Campbell. She grew up in Nebraska and later moved to Kansas. Peggy lived in Lawton for many years and worked at Johnson’s Bakery making doughnuts and at the time of her death worked for the Lawton Public Schools’early head start program as a volunteer Grandma.She was a member of Cameron Baptist Church and had been very involved with the singles ministry. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting stuffed animals, watching cartoons and was a fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.She is survived by her children, Angela Roenne and husband Michael, Lincoln, Nebraska, Shona Craig, Central City, Nebraska, Johnny Ray Craig and wife Rebecca, Lawton and Felecia Craig, Lawton; nine grandchildren, Brianna Roenne, Rachel Roenne, Naomi Roenne, Toliver Webb, Kayona Pickering, Estrella Ontiveros, Anselmo Gutierrez, Victor Denofa and Arianna Craig; her sister, Geraldine Phillips-Payne; and her brother, Lee Campbell.Her parents, a brother, Jack Campbell, and a granddaughter, Selena, preceded her in death.Graveside services will be held 10:30 am, Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the Grandview Cemetery near Gothenburg. Due the the current COVID-19 pandemic we ask that you please be mindful of the current request for limited social contact of less than 10 people and that friends remain in there vehicles at the graveside. Lela Mae Pugh Tabor, 92, of North Platte, Nebraska, died April 22, 2020 in North Platte, NE.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Lela Mae Pugh Tabor, 92, of North Platte, NE went to be with the Lord early Wednesday morning, April 22,2020, at Linden Court in North Platte, NE. She was born February 7, 1928, in Crossville, TN.&nbsp; Married to Everett Tabor in 1946. She called Rockford, IL her home. 

 Lovingly referred to as "Mu" by most of her family.&nbsp; She was a passionate woman of God who loved Jesus with all her heart. She will be remembered as a faithful servant of the Lord, as well as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. Mu was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The family expresses much appreciation to the staff at Linden Court in North Platte, NE for the loving care they provided for our Mu.

Lela is survived by her brother, Charles Asberry; her two sons, Michael Tabor and Keith Tabor; her nine grandchildren, Tammie Taullie, Kim Simmons, Lori Carlson, Jason Tabor, Jessica Tabor, Jackie Tabor, Monica Tabor, Brandon Tabor, and Abigayle Tabor; several beloved nieces and nephews; five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.&nbsp;

Lela was preceded in death by her husband, Everett; her grandson, Tony Coleman; her two daughters, Donna Coleman and Gail Tabor; her brother, Willie Pugh; and her sister, Gladys Tays.

Private family Visitation was held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Thursday, April 23, 2020.

Private Graveside Services will be held at Gothenburg Cemetery, April 24, 2020.

Donald Dean Goebel 71, of North Platte, passed away Monday April 27, 2020 at his home.

He was born December 11, 1948 at Lutheran Hospital in Beatrice to David and Lucille (Cullison) Goebel. Don Attended Beatrice High School and S.E. College.

Don lived in Beatrice until 1985 before moving to North Platte where he worked at the Nebraska Public Power District as a Station Operator for 31 years.

He was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church, FOE Eagles and AA.

Don enjoyed old cars, Nebraska Husker sports, crossword puzzles, jumble word games, rodeos and especially his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son; Joshua Goebel; brothers, Richard, James, Larry, William and Steven.

Don is survived by his children, Jeremy (Lisa) Goebel of Syracuse, NE and daughter, Jessi (Mike) Cogswell of Omaha, NE; 6 Grandchildren, Jace, Addison, Brock and Treyson Goebel and Lauren and Joshua Cogswell.

A Funeral Service will be 10:30 Am Saturday, May 2 with The Reverend Josh Brown Celebrating. There will be a viewing with book signing at Carpenter Memorial Chapel on Friday, May 1 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM with family receiving friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be 1:00 PM Monday, May 4 at Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, NE.

Donald Dean Goebel (1948-2020

Connee Lee Sedlmajer, 73, of North Platte, passed away, April 26, 2020 at Linden Court.

She was born December 20, 1946 to Fred and Earlene (Ruff) Kuhl in Valentine, NE. Her curly hair was spit fire red and matched her personality.

Connee attended Valentine High School and graduated in 1965. At age 12 she became a member of the Presbyterian Church. In high School she played the saxophone and marched in the Rose Bowl Parade and also was Jobs Daughter Queen.

Connee was married to Joseph Sedlmajer in 1966. &nbsp;To this union two children were born, Amy Jo and Christopher John. They were married for 25 years.

She worked as a secretary at her father’s business Kuhl’s Highway Auto Service and later Southside Body and Paint.

Connee was diagnosed with MS in 1982. Her diagnosis did not stop her from living her life to the fullest. Her goal was to stay at her home in Valentine until both children completed their college education. She only missed the goal by a few months, as she moved to Sutherland Care Center in the fall of 1998 and then moved to Linden Court in January of 1999. She attended Chris’s graduation from Pharmacy School in May of 1999 and Amy’s graduation from Radiation Therapy School in 1997, both at UNMC in Omaha.

She was able to enjoy her grandchildren through the years which made her ecstatic.

Connee loved the NFL, SKOL Vikes! She enjoyed daily exercise with friends, and she was also a sharp card player, and in the past, played the piano beautifully.

Connee was preceded in death by her father Fred.
