

Debra Lee (Jaeger) Anderson, age 75, of Kearney passed away Friday, May 8, 2020 in her home after a short illness.

We know how happy you are to be reunited with Swede, your mate for over 45 years who passed away almost a year ago, with Deena your daughter who died at age 34, and with Gabrielle your granddaughter whom God took back at birth.&nbsp; What a royal welcome you must have gotten from them, our parents Wayne and Ruth Jaeger, Grandma Cleora Morrison, siblings Ronnie and Connie and many other loving relatives and friends as you returned to God’s fold.&nbsp; We also hope the final ride home on “Jesus’ boat” — an expression you've used in describing your Christian faith — was easier than your courageous fight throughout your recent illness.

You are the gracious, stoic heroine of your life story who faced each personal loss or difficult role without complaining, acting victimized, envying others with carefree lives, or losing faith in God's goodness. Your brave and lovable ways can only be described as “sorely missed" by close family and friends whom you've left behind.&nbsp; Because you’ve cared so deeply about our daily welfare amid your own troubles, we wonder who will give us healing help in the future or cry the heart-felt tears when we depart.&nbsp; You’re also honored for your mindful habit of showing kindness, caring and humility in personal relationships…your respect for reason, intelligence and intuitive perceptions in dealing with life’s challenges…and your active interest in alternative spiritual paths, healing arts and scientific findings about the mind and body.&nbsp; We also admire your artist’s eye for unique gifts and your avid support of local artists who became first-name friends throughout your faithful attendance of annual art events in Kearney.&nbsp; You not only acquired their art pieces for display, but also incorporated their creations into your own seasonal tabletop and front entrance designs, and landscape installations.

When approaching age 75 in the past year, you often arose early to appreciate a sunrise or paused to end the day with the setting sun.&nbsp; You loved your morning coffee, then listened to music for the soul, and enrichment programs on the internet for spiritual and personal growth.

Throughout the day, you guardedly watched the changing patterns of weather, kept up-to-date on world news and personally contacted your political representatives over issue concerns.&nbsp; You also reached out daily to family or friends through phone or e-mail, and gladly welcomed the neighborhood adults and children into your home for visits or special occasions.&nbsp; You faithfully fed the squirrels and birds gathering around your backyard feeder for peanuts and seeds, and you were also a literal "tree hugger" who revered the human connection with the largest and smallest of trees like those planted behind your house on a neighboring lot.&nbsp; In the spring, you joyfully anticipated the arrival of the Sandhill cranes and their departure around Easter.

However, you’ll be remembered most for devotion to family members and friends in times of illness or emotional need, like eight years as a caretaker during Swede’s chronic illness, and as an advocate for your sister Connie throughout her cancer-related complications.&nbsp; You’ll be cherished as a true and loyal friend by those who eagerly sought your company or valued counsel, and will be remembered fondly by many others who provided you with home and business services, groceries, the seasonal arts and craft items and gifts you needed from local stores like the “ladies of Tripps Shopping,” and the medical, hospital and in-home health care services for Swede and then you.&nbsp; However, your greatest impact will come from your never-ending interest in children of family, friends and past and recent neighborhoods, and especially those with physical and learning disabilities whom you helped throughout your professional career with a M.A. degree in special education, and a certification as a regional public-school Special Education Director.

Allysha SueAnne Fischer, age 17, of Holbrook, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 as the result&nbsp;of a four-wheeler accident north of Holbrook in Gosper County. 

She was born on July 4, 2002 at Cambridge,&nbsp;Nebraska to Kevin Fischer &amp; Shauna Meissner.

Allysha was a junior at the Arapahoe High School at Arapahoe, Nebraska.&nbsp; &nbsp;She enjoyed art class, doing crafts,&nbsp;and taking care of many different animals.&nbsp; She loved to help other kids who were in need of help.&nbsp; Allysha was&nbsp;always concerned with others well-being.&nbsp; She loved to spend time with her friends making and watching Tik-Tok&nbsp;videos.&nbsp; She was planning for her future and wanted to open a daycare.

She is survived by her father Kevin &amp; wife Connie Fischer of Holbrook, Nebraska, mother Shauna Meissner of&nbsp;Hastings, Nebraska, brother Anthony Veronee of Hastings, Nebraska, grandfather LeRoy Meissner of Culbertson,&nbsp;Nebraska, grandmother Catherine Fischer of Cambridge, Nebraska, and grandparents Jack &amp; Evelyn Kerr of&nbsp;Thornton, Colorado. Along with several uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather Clyde Fischer, grandmother Dianne Zwickle Meissner.

Ethel Hattie (Brecks) Fox passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at Meadowlark Pointe Assisted Living in Cozad at the age of 83. 

Ethel was born January 9, 1937 in Cozad, Nebraska to William Franklin "Earl" and Sophie (Ostendorf) Brecks. She graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1954. 

Ethel married Donald James Fox of Gothenburg on March 8, 1958 in Buffalo Gap, Texas. She was the mother of 4 daughters (the 4 J's, Joni Lynn born in Gothenburg, Jana Lea born in Denver, Jenny Lou born in Denver and Jill LeAnn born in Hawaii. 

Ethel was a great mother and military wife, always able to make a comfortable home in a dozen or so different Air Force assignments. She enjoyed bowling and golf, but her most treasured times were spent with family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Ethel was proud to have been a Commissioned Lay Pastor for 17 years and traveled to many churches around central Nebraska to preach. She spent the majority of those years preaching at Buffalo Grove Church in Lexington, Nebraska. Ethel had the honor of baptizing all 7 of her great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Alice Dorsey and half-sister, Cindy Brecks.

Ethel is survived by her husband Donald James Fox of Cozad; daughters, Joni Fox of Syracuse, NE, Jana (Jay) Dyer of Martell, NE, Jenny (Greg) Wichelt of Cozad and Jill Fox (Darcie Berry) of Ankeny, IA; grandchildren, Stephen J. Dyer of Martell, Andrew (Lexi) Wichelt of Hastings, Rebecca (Ben) Loberg of Holdrege and Morgan Wichelt of Cozad; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Beau Dyer, Jordyn and Sydney Wichelt and Barrett, Palmer and Marshall Loberg; brothers, Earl "Bud" Brecks of Lexington and James Brecks of O’Fallon, IL; sister Glenda (Robert) Martin of Lexington, and step-sister Rosemary Hofferber of Kearney.

Althea J. Schroeder, age 92 of Eustis, passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at Elwood Care Center, Elwood, Nebraska. 

Althea was born May 21, 1927 to Otto and Elizabeth (DeBoer) Hansen. She was united in marriage to Carroll Schroeder on January 11, 1945. They made their home west of Eustis on the family farm, and later moving into town. They were blessed with 2 children, Carole Elizabeth and Ronald Bruce, 4 grandchildren, Michelle Frazier, Steven Frazier, Mindy (Frazier) Redenbaugh and Christina (Schroeder) Flodman, 4 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Althea worked as a cook at the Eustis-Farnam Public Schools for 25 years. 

Althea loved to play cards, Scrabble and Sequence. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard Hansen and Lowell Hansen and sister, Dorothy (Hansen) Fiene. 

Althea is survived by her sister, Lola (Hansen) Debban of Elwood; brother, Donald Hansen of St. Charles, MO; daughter, Carole (Schroeder) Frazier of Cozad; son, Ronald Schroeder of Eustis; grandchildren, Michelle Frazier of Kansas City, MO, Steven Frazier (Lonnie Labens) of Eustis, Mindy (Frazier) Redenbaugh (Mike Vontz) of Eustis and Christina (Schroeder) Flodman (John) of Hoardville, NE; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.

Kenneth O. Seybold, age 88, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at his home in Cozad, NE. He was born December 4, 1931 in Eustis, NE to Otto and Viola (Haug) Seybold. &nbsp;He attended Cozad High School, graduating with the class of 1949 and was honorably discharged after serving 4 years in the U.S. Air Force.

He married Beverly J. Allen in 1955 and worked for AT&amp;T for 33 years followed by his retirement. They had two children, Monica Seybold of Omaha and Mitchel (Rhonda) Seybold of Larkspur, CO; grandchildren, Lindsey (Rex) Barlow of Eads, CO; Mica (Adam) Ruff of Littleton, CO and one great grandson, Augustus Barlow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. Kenneth O. Seybold (1931-2020

Lily D. Olson, age 92, of North Platte, died May 10, 2020 at Centennial Park Retirement Village.

She was born on July 11, 1927 in Ogallala Nebraska to John and Anna (Jasnoch) Nowak. She was born and raised in Keith County. On April 22, 1952, she married Lorain R. “Ole” Olson. The couple came to North Platte in 1960 and have resided here since. She worked at the North Platte Country Club for many years. Lily will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and as being a very hard worker. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her children, Raymond (Marie) Olson of Franktown, Co, James (Cindy Cynova) Olson of Broomfield, CO, Laura (Daryle) Ordway, and Mary (Ron) Reynolds, all of North Platte; 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sons, Steven, and John Olson and 6 brothers and 1 sister.

Lily D. Olson (1927-2020

Lela A. Dier, 85 years of age, of Holdrege, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020, at the Bertrand Nursing Home in Bertrand, Nebraska.&nbsp; Lela was born May 19, 1934, on the family farm west of Orleans, in Harlan County, Nebraska, the youngest of ten children to Paul and Annie Laura (Richman) Artz.&nbsp; Lela received her education at Huntley, Nebraska, graduating from Huntley High School with the class of 1951.&nbsp;

On April 24, 1955, Lela was united in marriage to John E. Dier in Republican City, Nebraska.&nbsp; The couple were blessed with two daughters:&nbsp; Sally and Susan.&nbsp; The family made their home in Holdrege, where John practiced Law.&nbsp; Lela was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.&nbsp; She was also employed as a Legal Secretary at Dier, Osborn and Cox, P.C. &nbsp;

Lela loved spending time with family and friends during camping trips, and many fond memories were formed at their cabins by the river near Overton, Nebraska, and in Buena Vista, Colorado on the Arkansas River throughout the years.&nbsp; Lela and John also enjoyed spending many winters in Mesa, Arizona.

&nbsp;She enjoyed fishing, baking, and gardening.&nbsp; Lela also had a passion for music, and loved to dance in her younger years.&nbsp; Lela loved being around others, and visiting with her family and friends was always at the top of her list each day.&nbsp; She also had a great love for her dogs, especially their Schnoodles:&nbsp; Shadow, Abby and Molly.&nbsp;

Lela and John had a special bond with their grandson, Elliot who spent many days with them caring for their every need during their “Golden Years.” This past April, the couple celebrated their 65th&nbsp;wedding anniversary.

&nbsp;Lela was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holdrege; and involved in several worthy community causes throughout her lifetime.

Lela was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law:&nbsp; Andrew J. and Bertha Dier; siblings:&nbsp; Alice Evelyn Artz in infancy; Hazel Bennett and her husband, Harold; Edith Byler and her husband, Gordon; Delmar “Pete” Artz and his wife, Tillie; Chester Artz and his wife, Doris; George Artz and his wife, Reta; Willard Artz at the age of 14 in 1930; and twin brother, Lewis Artz. In addition, Lela was preceded by her brothers-in-law:&nbsp; Clifford Dier and his wife, Bette; Milo Dier and his wife, Nona; and Richard Dier and his wife, Ruth; sister-in-law, Ruth Meyer and her husband, George “Dewey” Meyer; and a niece, and nephew.&nbsp;

She leaves to celebrate her life; her husband, John Dier of Holdrege; her two daughters:&nbsp; Sally Hammond and her husband, Don of Bennington, Nebraska; and Susan Dier of Holdrege; grandson, James Elliot Graf and his special friend, Sormeh Salimpour of West Hollywood, California; step-grandson, Nate Hammond and his wife, Sara of Marietta, Georgia; three great-granddaughters:&nbsp; Brianna, Nellie and Lydia Hammond; sister-in-law, Barbara Artz of Minden, Nebraska; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.&nbsp;

A private family visitation will be held at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege.

Celebration of Life Services for Lela A.  Dier will be held at a later date due to current health restrictions in place with the COVID-19 pandemic.  A private family interment will be held at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Holdrege, Nebraska.

George Thomas “Tom” Jeffers, 79 years of age, of Republican City, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at the Harlan County Health System in Alma, Nebraska.&nbsp; 

Tom was born on September 15, 1940, at Indianola, Nebraska, one of four children and the eldest of three sons, born to Charles and Lula E. (Wing) Jeffers.&nbsp; He moved with his family to Republican City, where he received his education from Republican City Public Schools, and later graduated from Republican City High School, with the class of 1958.

On July 23, 1958, Tom was inducted into the United States Navy.&nbsp; He served as an Aviation Electronics Technician during the Vietnam War, and received the Good Conduct Medal.&nbsp; He was honorably discharged on September 14, 1962.&nbsp;

Tom enjoyed coin collecting, tinkering with his dart machines; but most of all he enjoyed having a few beers with his friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; and his sister, Linda.

Tom leaves to celebrate his life; his children:&nbsp; Karen Graser and her husband, Jeff of Tucson, Arizona; and David Jeffers of Yuma, Arizona; two grandchildren: &nbsp;Briana Graser and Joshua Graser and his wife, Lauren; two brothers:&nbsp; Richard Jeffers and his wife, Kathy of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; and Larry Jeffers and his wife, Terry of Chandler, Arizona; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary Maloley, 82, of Lexington passed away Monday, May 11, 2020 at Avamere in Lexington.

Mary was born October 24, 1937, at Melbourne, Australia, the only child of Alexander and Raifeh (Beshara) Malouly. Her parents died when she was a young child and was raised by her aunt and uncle, Nora and James Batrouney.&nbsp; She received her education from St. Michael’s Grammar School in Melbourne and graduated with the class of 1954.&nbsp; Mary was Head boarder, for which she received the Senior House Boarder Prize.&nbsp; &nbsp;Mary was also an accomplished athlete.&nbsp; Only two girls received triple sports prizes, and one of them was Mary, for Basketball, Hockey and Tennis.&nbsp; She also received a prize for the Best All Round Sports Award.

Following High School, she worked for National Mutual Insurance of Australia.&nbsp; Mary spent many years travelling the World and visited the USA for two years with her close friend June Martin.&nbsp; In 1961, while visiting the states she met the love of her life, John Maloley.&nbsp; After twelve years of dating they were united in marriage on February 27, 1974 in Australia.&nbsp; They moved to Lexington, Nebraska in June of 1974, and two children were blessed to this union, John and Amanda.&nbsp; Mary focused her efforts on caring for the home and raising her children.

Mary’s love for the game of tennis was an understatement.&nbsp; She was instrumental in starting Tennis League’s in Lexington and she and her close friend, Linda Motzner started the Lexington Labor Day Tournament which brought competitors from all over Nebraska and out of the state.&nbsp; They would run the Tournament for twenty years (1979-1999) and the tournament is still being played today.&nbsp; Mary fought hard with Linda and along with Kathy Stuckey to bring High School Tennis to Lexington which was added with the class of 1993-94.&nbsp; Mary was inducted in the Nebraska Tennis Hall of Fame with the class of 1999.

Mary was a faithful member of the St. George Orthodox church in Kearney as well as St Nicholas Orthodox church in Melbourne Australia.&nbsp; Her orthodox faith was a key part of who she was.

Mary wasn’t afraid to express her opinion and you always knew where you stood with her.&nbsp; She treasured her time with family and friends.&nbsp; Mary’s family and friends in Melbourne Australia meant the world to her as well and these were maintained through her life including June Martin, John Mansour, Loretta Munnings and Beverley Hore.

She leaves to celebrate her life; her husband, John of Lexington; children, John Alexander (Candi) Maloley of Melissa, Texas and Amanda Maloley of Winter Garden, Florida; two grandchildren, Alexander John and Collin Steel Maloley; two brothers-in-law, Nimir (Margaret) Maloley of Kearney and Joe (Linda) Maloley of Omaha; three sisters-in-law, Victoria Salem of Kearney, Wanda Maloley of Lexington and Joyce (Gary) Spellman of Minden; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Private Family Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Reverend Christopher Morris, officiating.&nbsp;&nbsp; The funeral service will be streamed live through Facebook live on the Reynolds Love Facebook page.

Mary Maloley (1937-2020

Pedro Garcia the third was born on October 15, 1992 in Orange, New
Jersey.&nbsp; Pedro graduated from Cozad High School in 2011.&nbsp; He continued his
education and wrestling career at Colby CC where he graduated with his
associates degree.&nbsp; He then went on to wrestle and continue his education at
Hastings College, later transferring to the University of Nebraska at Kearney
to be closer to his family.&nbsp; Pedro was a para-educator and an assistant
wrestling coach at Cozad Community Schools.&nbsp; He was a two-time state qualifier,
fifth-place state medalist and a role model to many people because of his
wrestling career.&nbsp; Pedro’s passion for wrestling was unmatched.&nbsp; So much so he
would wake up at 5 a.m. daily just to get an extra workout and stayed home from a
few of our family vacations during the season.&nbsp; Later he moved on to coaching
and mentoring in the sport he loved.&nbsp; Pedro was dedicated in not just wrestling
but everything he did.

Pedro was a great brother to his four siblings, he always put his
family first regardless of the situation we were in and taught us what life was
really about.&nbsp; Something Pedro always told us that we will keep with us forever
was, “Day by Day we all become stronger and stronger, we get pushed to our
limit, so we can reach our goals and make our dreams reality”.&nbsp; He was best
known for his cheesy smile and his great advice to anyone who knew him.&nbsp; He was
always able to switch a negative situation into a positive situation.&nbsp; Pedro
always saw negativity as a way of life and with every negative situation there
is always a positive one.&nbsp; Pedro was and forever will be our biggest inspiration
and we will forever keep him in our hearts.

Pedro Garcia the third unexpectedly passed away on May 2, 2020 at
the age of 27.&nbsp; Pedro was a loving son, brother, cousin, grandson, nephew,
uncle, and friend to all.&nbsp; Pedro left behind his parents, Pedro and Silvia
Garcia, his siblings Julio, Janice, Jamie, and Pierro Garcia.&nbsp; He also left
behind his nephew Remmy, who he loved dearly, as well as his uncles, aunts,
cousins, and grandma who he loved just as much.&nbsp; Pedro will be the light to all
of our lives and that light will never stop shining because regardless of where
he is he will always be looking out for us all, just like he always has.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.&nbsp;

Jersey.&nbsp; Pedro graduated from Cozad High School in 2011.&nbsp; He continued his
education and wrestling career at Colby CC where he graduated with his
associates degree.&nbsp; He then went on to wrestle and continue his education at
Hastings College, later transferring to the University of Nebraska at Kearney
to be closer to his family.&nbsp; Pedro was a para-educator and an assistant
wrestling coach at Cozad Community Schools.&nbsp; He was a two-time state qualifier,
fifth-place state medalist and a role model to many people because of his
wrestling career.&nbsp; Pedro’s passion for wrestling was unmatched.&nbsp; So much so he
would wake up at 5 a.m. daily just to get an extra workout and stayed home from a
few of our family vacations during the season.&nbsp; Later he moved on to coaching
and mentoring in the sport he loved.&nbsp; Pedro was dedicated in not just wrestling
but everything he did.Pedro was a great brother to his four siblings, he always put his
family first regardless of the situation we were in and taught us what life was
really about.&nbsp; Something Pedro always told us that we will keep with us forever
was, “Day by Day we all become stronger and stronger, we get pushed to our
limit, so we can reach our goals and make our dreams reality”.&nbsp; He was best
known for his cheesy smile and his great advice to anyone who knew him.&nbsp; He was
always able to switch a negative situation into a positive situation.&nbsp; Pedro
always saw negativity as a way of life and with every negative situation there
is always a positive one.&nbsp; Pedro was and forever will be our biggest inspiration
and we will forever keep him in our hearts.Pedro Garcia the third unexpectedly passed away on May 2, 2020 at
the age of 27.&nbsp; Pedro was a loving son, brother, cousin, grandson, nephew,
uncle, and friend to all.&nbsp; Pedro left behind his parents, Pedro and Silvia
Garcia, his siblings Julio, Janice, Jamie, and Pierro Garcia.&nbsp; He also left
behind his nephew Remmy, who he loved dearly, as well as his uncles, aunts,
cousins, and grandma who he loved just as much.&nbsp; Pedro will be the light to all
of our lives and that light will never stop shining because regardless of where
he is he will always be looking out for us all, just like he always has.A memorial service will be held at a later date.&nbsp;

Titi Alvarez Saravia, 51, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

She was born May 2, 1969 in Guatemala to Marco Tulio and Ines (Salazar) Alvarez. She grew up in San Mauricu, Suchitepequez, Guatemala.

Titi was united in marriage to Samuel Saravia on March 4, 1996. Five children were blessed to this union: Adelso, Estuardo, Ivania, Veronica and Fran. They moved to Lexington, Nebraska from Guatemala in 1994. Titi worked as a cleaning lady for various hotels for many years before she had a stroke in 2010 and retired due to her health.

Titi loved her church and was a faithful member to Iglesia De Dios Camino De Santidad. She enjoyed serving her church, always willing to help out. She loved cooking and being adventurous, looking forward to travelling. Her family, church, and faith were always an important part of her life. Above all, Titi has left a tremendous legacy of love, faith to her family.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel of Lexington; three sons, Adelso of Lexington, Estuardo of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Fran of Lexington; two daughters, Veronica Savaria of Guatemala and Ivania (Leehanyi) Baptista of Allentown, Pennsylvania; seven grandchildren with two on the way; four brothers, Rudy (Genara) Alvarez of Kearney, Huber (Emma Laticia) Alvarez of Lexington, Gilmer (Brenda) Alvarez of Kearney and Marco Alvarez of Guatemala; three sisters, Soila (Ramon) Alvarez of San Francisco, California, Blanca Alvarez of Guatemala and Elbia Alvarez of Guatemala; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Private Family Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington, Nebraska. The funeral service will be streamed live through Facebook live on the Reynolds Love Facebook page.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 from 3-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, we will adhere to members of a household who live together may be seated together, but maintain six feet of a part of social distance from other parties.

Bobby "Bob" V. Batterman, age 78, formerly of Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away, Sunday, May 10, 2020 at the Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation Center in Beatrice, Nebraska.

Bob was born on April 9, 1942 in Oklahoma City, OK to Andrew Seward and LaVada Wilson (Breshears) Batterman.&nbsp;

He graduated from Hereford High School in Hereford, TX in 1960. Bob was a long-time resident of Ogallala, where he worked selling office supplies. He was a salesman for several years at Modern Office Equipment before opening his own business, Rodech, until retiring in Ogallala.&nbsp;

On September 23, 1999, he was united in marriage to Ruby White in Ogallala.

Bob was an avid gardener who enjoyed canning, cooking and baking. He was a die-hard Nebraska Huskers football fan, who will no doubt continue to cheer them on from the Heavens.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; Fred Batterman; 1 sister; Juanita Plunk; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Barbara Jean Decker of McCook passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Hillcrest Nursing Home.&nbsp; She was 66 years old.

Barbara was born on March 27, 1954 at McCook to parents, Loren Felix and Hazel Loraine (Doyle) Myers.&nbsp; She attended McCook Public Schools.

On June 19, 1971 she was united in marriage to Ronald Ray Decker at the First Baptist Church in McCook.&nbsp; To this union two daughters, Brenda and Robin, was born.

The family made their home in several locations while Barbara’s husband served a 21-year career commitment in the Navy.&nbsp; They eventually made their home in Garden City, KS.&nbsp; After the passing of her husband, Barbara moved to McCook to be closer to family.&nbsp; She enjoyed her volunteer work with the schools while living in Garden City.

Barbara enjoyed quilting, playing board games, putting jigsaw puzzles together and her cats.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Decker; daughter, Robin Decker; parents, Loren and Hazel Myers; and grandson, Benjamin Decker.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Decker of Garden City, KS; sister, Pam Fraker of McCook, NE; brother, Doug Myers of McCook, NE; three grandchildren, Paulina, Sky, and Robert; one great-granddaughter, Bella June; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

Andrid Erika Olson, 48, of North Platte, died May 12, 2020, at UNMC in&nbsp;Omaha.

Andrid was born in North Platte, on March 3, 1972, the only child of&nbsp;Steve and Harriet Olson.&nbsp; Andrid spent her entire life in North Platte,&nbsp;graduating from North Platte High School with the Class of 1990.

Andrid was employed as a server with various local restaurants including&nbsp;the Canteen, Depot, Lincoln Highway Diner and the Airport.&nbsp; She enjoyed&nbsp;her job as a server and liked getting to know her customers, especially&nbsp;their likes and dislikes.

Andrid is remembered as a kind, caring person who was a hard worker.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was a cat lover but loved her cats, Teddy and Yogi, the most.

She is survived by her parents as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins&nbsp;and friends.

Andrid was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Wanda Olson,&nbsp;and Harold and Lorene Wien; and uncles, John Wien and Bradley Olson.

David Arnold DeMary, 72, of St. Paul, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Azria Health Broadwell in Grand Island, Nebraska after a long and courageous battle with leukemia.&nbsp; He was a faithful servant of the Lord who enjoyed reading his Bible.

David was born February 26, 1948 to Charles and Esther (Fuller) DeMary, the baby brother to ten siblings.&nbsp; David lived his entire life in St. Paul in the home he was raised in.&nbsp; He graduated from St. Paul High School in 1966.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 

Following graduation, David went to work at the Army Corp of Engineers in Grand Island and then Nebraska Department of Roads from 1970 to 2006 when he retired.&nbsp; He enjoyed hunting, reading, gardening, puzzles, card games, fishing, woodworking, and train rides with his parents.&nbsp; Thirty-four nieces and nephews were blessed to call him Uncle David.&nbsp; He always made time to play and made visiting Grandma and Grandpa’s house extra fun.

Survivors include three brothers and spouses, Max DeMary of Sidney, MT, Dick and Joan DeMary of Chapman, KS and Paul and Delia DeMary of Minneapolis, KS; two sisters and spouses, Maxine and Todd White of Grand Island and Alberta Fisher of Trenton, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles “Sonny” DeMary and George DeMary; sisters, Alice Grim, Elnora Tschudy, and Betty Jelinek; brothers-in-law, Charles Fisher, Don Tschudy, John Jelinek, and Melvin Grim; and sisters-in-law, Betty DeMary and Karen DeMary.

Public visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2020 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Jacobsen-Greenway-Dietz Funeral Home in St. Paul, with a Private Family Interment held at the Elmwood Cemetery in St. Paul.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family at a later date.

Walter "Wally" A. Trimble, 70, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died peacefully May 5, 2020 at Hilltop Estates.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was born March 21, 1950 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Arch and Bernice Trimble.

He grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1968.&nbsp; He married Sally Sitorius Schleeman on March 30, 1974 in Gothenburg, NE. Wally was a life long farmer and rancher in the community.

He was a member of Banner United Methodist Church and&nbsp; the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department for many years.

Wally enjoyed sports at all levels of play, from grandsons up to Nebraska and the NFL.&nbsp; His trips to the casinos with another friend were always a highlight worth planning for.&nbsp;Wally was a little league coach for many years. He was well liked in the community and made friends wherever he went.&nbsp;

Survivors include wife, Sally Trimble of Gothenburg; son, Sheridan Trimble of Omaha; daughter, Molly (Marc) Logemann of Washington, NE; Grandsons Schuyler, Ryder and Asher Logemann; sister Judith (Keith) Maurer of Tampa, FL; and his nephews.&nbsp;

Wally was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date due to the current health situation.

Trimble, 70, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died peacefully May 5, 2020 at Hilltop Estates.&nbsp;&nbsp;He was born March 21, 1950 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Arch and Bernice Trimble.He grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1968.&nbsp; He married Sally Sitorius Schleeman on March 30, 1974 in Gothenburg, NE. Wally was a life long farmer and rancher in the community.He was a member of Banner United Methodist Church and&nbsp; the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department for many years.Wally enjoyed sports at all levels of play, from grandsons up to Nebraska and the NFL.&nbsp; His trips to the casinos with another friend were always a highlight worth planning for.&nbsp;Wally was a little league coach for many years. He was well liked in the community and made friends wherever he went.&nbsp;Survivors include wife, Sally Trimble of Gothenburg; son, Sheridan Trimble of Omaha; daughter, Molly (Marc) Logemann of Washington, NE; Grandsons Schuyler, Ryder and Asher Logemann; sister Judith (Keith) Maurer of Tampa, FL; and his nephews.&nbsp;Wally was preceded in death by his parents.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date due to the current health situation.Memorials may be given to the Banner church or the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Marian LaRee Barraclough, 92, of North Platte, passed away on May 8, 2020 at Linden Court in North Platte.

She was born on October 19, 1927 at Max, NE to Fred and Irene (Mills) Barker. She attended Stapleton High School and graduated in the class of 1946.

On July 31, 1948, she was united in marriage to Paul “Shorty” Barraclough at Broken Bow, NE. She worked as a Medical Assistant to Dr. Robert Takenaga until his retirement. She then became the Ward Clerk for 2nd&nbsp;Floor East at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. After retirement she decided to clean houses and did that up into her late 80’s.

She was very involved in the community and volunteered at the Senior Center with bingo. She also loved to travel, especially to Wendover and other locations for bingo.

Marian was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, The Eagles, F.O.E, American Legion Auxiliary and the Union Pacific Railroad Club and the German American Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; daughter, Peggy Langford; brothers, Bill, Bob and Jack; and sisters, Jean and JoAnn.

Marian is survived by her sons, Jack Barraclough of North Platte, and Steve and Debra Barraclough of Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada; brother, Gary and Rose Barker; son-in-law Jim Langford; brother-in-law, Jack Smith; grandchildren, Jason and Dawn Langford, Justin and Tara Barraclough, Travis and Susan Langford, Jacque Langford and Brandon, Lyndee and Matt Brown and Ashley and Billy Nichelson; and 12 great grandchildren.

A private family burial will be Friday, May 16 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, NE. A visitation with book signing will be from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, May 13 and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday, May 14 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. A Rosary is scheduled for 6:00 PM, Thursday following the visitation at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.

Marian LaRee Barraclough (1927-2020

Helen L. Lilly 79, of North Platte, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Great Plains Health. 

She was born February 9, 1941 to Evelyn Mae Wipf and Harold E. Maron in Mitchell, SD.

She attended grade school at Sherman, SD and later graduated from Parkston High School in 1960. Helen’s mother passed away in October 1955 from cancer. She and her younger brothers, Larry Maron and Dale Diamond moved to Parkston, SD to live with their grandparents. &nbsp;

Helen married Richard D. Lilly on April 1, 1962 in Gering, Nebraska. They moved to North Platte later that year. To this union three children were born: Terry of Grand Island, NE, Donna of Arnold, NE and David of Hastings, NE.

She was a devoted mother and wife. She taught Sunday school for many years at First Baptist Church. Helen helped at Cody Elementary school in the PTA. She helped her husband Richard deliver mail as a rural carrier. For many years she was a creative person with ceramics, and made many homemade Afghans. She would do anything for anyone when they asked.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, who passed away in December of 2004; 2 brothers, Dale Diamond and Larry Maron; parents, Evelyn (Wipf) Carlson and Harold Maron; grandparents, Jennie and Luman Olds.

She is survived by her children and spouses, Terry and Renee Lilly of Grand Island, NE, Donna and Jeff Corbin of Arnold, NE and David Lilly of Hastings, NE.; Grandchildren, Tiffany Paxton and special friend Jeremy Otzel of North Platte, NE. Ashley and Kyle Boysen of Grand Island and Matthew Corbin of Arnold, NE; 2 Great grandchildren, Noah Jett Paxton of North Platte, NE and Emmie Rose Boysen of Grand Island, NE.

Other survivors include her step grandchildren, Christopher Boroff of Grand Island, NE, Janelle Corbin of Nashville, TN, Jesse and Alyssa Corbin of Arnold, NE, and Shawn and Brandi Corbin of Arnold, NE; and step great grandchildren, Avery, Aubrey, Aden and Axten Corbin of Arnold, NE; and Helen’s half-brothers, Robert and Londa Maron of Scottsbluff, NE, and Richard and Susan Maron of Silver Lake, WI and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Monday, May 11 with Rev. Irving Jennings officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Monday at Carpenter Memorial Chapel. A private family burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, NE.

Ila Ann (Jensen) Dailey 86, &nbsp;of Arnold passed away Sunday, May 10th, 2020 at Quality Senior Villages in Broken Bow, NE.&nbsp;

Ila was born March 17, 1934 in a country home between Maxwell and Curtis to John and Viola (Nelsen)Jensen.&nbsp; Ila graduated from Brady High School in 1951.

Ila married Earl Dailey on April 20, 1952 in Yuma, AZ at 5:00 AM.&nbsp; After Earl finished his years of service in 1952 from the Army they moved back to Nebraska. In 1958 Earl and Ila added a son Dennis Eugene Dailey.&nbsp; They lived between Callaway and Cozad for 15 years before moving back to the Arnold area. In 1979 they moved to their present home in Arnold.&nbsp;

Ila loved her many years of teaching and all of her students (little people).Ila was very active in the community and enjoyed going with the Red Hat ladies on adventures.&nbsp; She also played in many card groups.&nbsp; Ila enjoyed collecting bells.Ila is survived by her husband Earl of 68 years.&nbsp; Brother-in-law Gayle Miller of Kearney; sister-in-law Ester Webster of North Platte, brother-in-law Donald Dailey of Arnold and many nieces, nephews, cousins and foreign exchange student Karen Kjems Lyngvad from Denmark.Ila was preceded in death by her son Dennis, parents, sister Ruby and husband Bob Sailor, sister Margie Miller and brother Harold Jensen, brothers-in-law Earl Webster and Kenneth Dailey and sisters-in-law Beverly Dailey and Katherine Armstrong.Private family services will be held Thursday, May 14, in Arnold. NE with Pastors Ben Eickhoff and Frank Scott officiating. Interment will be in the Arnold Cemetery. A visitation will be Wednesday, May 13th, from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM with family greeting friends from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Arnold Funeral Home.&nbsp;&nbsp; Due to the recent health concerns we will follow the mandated 10 people maximum rule.
