Doris (Beringer) Cordell, age 92, formerly of Hershey, Nebraska, died on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Doris was born on July 3, 1927 to Peter and Elizabeth Beringer in Aurora, Illinois.&nbsp; Her mom died in 1927 and later her father married Hazel Ortman, who was a wonderful mother to Doris.

Doris graduated from West Aurora High School with the Class of 1945, then went to work as a bookkeeper for a dress manufacturing company in Aurora.&nbsp; On October 8, 1947, Doris was united in marriage to Jim Cordel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Sutherland, Nebraska.&nbsp; The couple lived on a farm west of Hershey, Nebraska for six years, then moved into town.&nbsp; They raised three children and were married for 58 years.

Doris was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and attended Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church in Hershey, where she was on the Altar Society, and was active with the U-Come-To Club.&nbsp; She helped on the Senior Center Board for two years, the Lincoln County Election Board for many years, and ehlped start the recycling program in Hershey.&nbsp; Doris also helped pack boxes for troops overseas with Patriot Packages.&nbsp; In addition to all her activities, she enjoyed her children, grandchildren and being with friends as well as walking, reading, doing embroidery and listening to music.

She is survived by her daughter, Gay Cordell-Smith (Galen) of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; her sons, Lynn (Barbara) Cordell of Hastings, Nebraska and Pat (Patricia) Cordell of Gothenburg, Nebraska; grandchildren, Gabe (Kara) Cordell of Bennington, Nebraska and Jennifer Cordell-Wheeler (Joe) of St. Louis, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Sienna Lynn and Ayla Elizabeth Cordell; nephew, David Greenbusch of Aurora, Illinois; special friend, Della Brown of Hershey, Nebraska; as well as other friends and family.

Along with her mother, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, Peter and Hazel Beringer; a sister, Joan Breenbusch; and a niece, Rosemarie Greenbusch.

Harry Joyce Most, age 84, went to be with His Lord Jesus on December 16, 2019 at his home near Brady, Nebraska.

Harry had five loves in his life.&nbsp; The first fueled all the others.&nbsp; Harry was a Jesus man.&nbsp; He loved Jesus with all his heart and that fueled the second love of his life, Shirley.&nbsp; They were married for 61 years and they obviously still had a passionate love for each other.&nbsp; Harry's third love was his family who he worked tirelessly to provide for and, more than anything, yearned that they would know and follow Jesus.&nbsp; He prayed for his family, a lot!&nbsp; Harry loved music, particularly brass band music and hymns.&nbsp; Harry sang in a quartet for many years and, with urging from his children, would break out his accordion.&nbsp; In service to his loved and Savior, Jesus, he gave his live away to others, often times using his skill doing electrical work, which&nbsp; he enjoyed greatly.&nbsp; He helped wire over four different church buildings and loved helping Christian ministries in this way.

Harry was born on October 9, 1935 to Harry Jesse and Mary Belle Most at their family home in Roscoe, Nebraska.&nbsp; He was the eldest of three living children.&nbsp; At age seven, his family moved to North Platte, Nebraska, but not before accidentally set a field on fire that nearly burned the Village of Roscoe down!

Harry graduated from North Platte High School in 1953, and then graduated from Briercrest Bible Institute in 1957.&nbsp; While serving as an intern pastor in Denver, Colorado, he was introduced to Shirley and they married on July 18, 1958.

In 1959, Harry gained an electrical apprenticeship at Union Pacific Railroad, joining his father in that profession on the railroad.&nbsp; He also ran his own electrician business out of his home for many years.&nbsp; Harry built a home near Hershey, Nebraska in 1976 and was a part of that community for 30 years.&nbsp; Harry retired from working on the railroad in 1997, enjoying a career of nearly 40 years there.&nbsp; In 2007, he and his boys built a home near Brady, Nebraska where he could more easily attend his grandchildren's many activities.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Brady, Nebraska; sons, David (Linda) Most of Vernal, Utah, Daniel (Judy) Most of Falcon, Colorado, Richard (Cathy) Most of Van Buren, Arkansas, Jonathan (Bonny) Most of Brady, Nebraska, Nathaniel (Wendy) Most of Gothenburg, Nebraska, Phillip (Jewel) Most of Mancos, Colorado, and Eric (Jennifer) Most of Brady, Nebraska; a daughter, Leatha Hansz of Falcon, Colorado; 36 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Glenda (Lee) Burnham of Wythville, Virginia and Sharron (Glenn) Watt of Longmont, Colorado; as well as many other family members.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mary Belle; an infant sister, Darlene; and daughters-in-law, Karlynda Most and Amy Most.

Augustine "Augie" Tarango, age 81, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on December 12, 2019 at the North Platte Care Center.&nbsp; Augie was born on May 28, 1938 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Joe and Julie (Apodaco) Tarango.&nbsp; He grew up in Chihuahua and Mexico City areas, immigrating with his family to Clovis, New Mexico.&nbsp; When he was 16, he left New Mexico, moved aroung, and finally settled in North Platte, Nebraska where he met Juanita Medrano.&nbsp; The two were married on June 3, 1966 in North Platte.

Augie worked on construction crews that built the interstate before hiring on the Union Pacific Railroad in the Maintenance of Way Department, retiring in 1996.

Augie loved Mexican music and playing the accordion in his band and dancing, especially with his sister, Lupe, doing the Mexican hat dance.&nbsp; He enjoyed playing pool and was a good player.&nbsp; He loved his family, spending time with them, and will be especially remembered for taking family rides.&nbsp; He liked to fish and was an avid Husker fan.&nbsp; He is a Gold Star Father to Master Sgt. Linda Tarango Griess.

Survivors include two children, Augustine (Peggy Dixon) Tarango and Vicky (Rodney) Smith, all of North Platte; grandchildren, Johnnie Moore, Jr. of North Platte, Christopher (Sarah Burg) Tarango of Aurora, Colorado, Rodney Smith, Jr. and Isaac Smith both of North Platte; great-grandchild, Julie; siblings, Maria, Roger, Chuma, Lydia, Romelia, and several other siblings.

Augustine "Augie" Tarango  (1938 - 2019)

Julaine Marie Thomsen, age 91, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Linden Court in North Platte.

Julaine was born on April 12, 2019 to Earl and Sophia Anna (Blum) Foster at Harvard, Nebraska.&nbsp; Her family moved to North Platte when she was 7 years old and she went on to graduated from North Platte High School in 1946.

On November 2, 1947, Julaine was united in marriage to Marlyn LeRoy 'Marty' Thomsen in North Platte.&nbsp; The couple was married for just over 50 years when Marty passed away in 1997.

Marty and Julaine started out in North Platte, moved to Hayes County in Nebraska in 1953, returned to North Platte in 1957, then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1980.&nbsp; Julaine eventually came back to North Platte in 2000.

Along with caring for her family, Julaine worked for Social Security starting in 1962 and retiring in 1987 after 26 years of service.&nbsp; She was a member of First Christian Church, Moose and Eagle Auxiliaries, and the Newcomers Club.&nbsp; Julaine liked playing cards and was in several different bridge and card clubs.&nbsp; She also enjoyed helping others by being a volunteer at the hospital gift shop and the Lincoln County Historical Museum.&nbsp; Julaine never met a stranger and was a friend to all.

Along with her husband, Marty, Julaine was preceded in death by their youngest son, Tim; her parents, Earl and Sophia Foster; her brother, Vaughn Foster; and a sister, Dorthy 'Dotte' Anderson.

Survivors include her son, Toby (Niesa) Thomsen of North Platte; her daughers, Kris (Paul) Goldman of Aurora, Colorado, Kerry (Mark) Morrison of Littleton, Colorado, and Kelle (Donald) Stock of Rabun Gap, Georgia; grandkids Ross Thomsen, Michael Maxwell, Jason (Megan) Thomsen, Whitney Thomsen, Kim Thomsen, Sara Maxwell, Nikki (Terry) Covera, Stacie Easton and Shelly (Chris) Mackintosh; many great-grandchildren and a great great-granddaughter; as well as other family.

 </figure>Julaine Marie Thomsen, age 91, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Linden Court in North Platte.Julaine was born on April 12, 2019 to Earl and Sophia Anna (Blum) Foster at Harvard, Nebraska.&nbsp; Her family moved to North Platte when she was 7 years old and she went on to graduated from North Platte High School in 1946.On November 2, 1947, Julaine was united in marriage to Marlyn LeRoy 'Marty' Thomsen in North Platte.&nbsp; The couple was married for just over 50 years when Marty passed away in 1997.Marty and Julaine started out in North Platte, moved to Hayes County in Nebraska in 1953, returned to North Platte in 1957, then moved to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1980.&nbsp; Julaine eventually came back to North Platte in 2000.Along with caring for her family, Julaine worked for Social Security starting in 1962 and retiring in 1987 after 26 years of service.&nbsp; She was a member of First Christian Church, Moose and Eagle Auxiliaries, and the Newcomers Club.&nbsp; Julaine liked playing cards and was in several different bridge and card clubs.&nbsp; She also enjoyed helping others by being a volunteer at the hospital gift shop and the Lincoln County Historical Museum.&nbsp; Julaine never met a stranger and was a friend to all.Along with her husband, Marty, Julaine was preceded in death by their youngest son, Tim; her parents, Earl and Sophia Foster; her brother, Vaughn Foster; and a sister, Dorthy 'Dotte' Anderson.Survivors include her son, Toby (Niesa) Thomsen of North Platte; her daughers, Kris (Paul) Goldman of Aurora, Colorado, Kerry (Mark) Morrison of Littleton, Colorado, and Kelle (Donald) Stock of Rabun Gap, Georgia; grandkids Ross Thomsen, Michael Maxwell, Jason (Megan) Thomsen, Whitney Thomsen, Kim Thomsen, Sara Maxwell, Nikki (Terry) Covera, Stacie Easton and Shelly (Chris) Mackintosh; many great-grandchildren and a great great-granddaughter; as well as other family.Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Odean Colonial Chapel at C &amp; Sycamore in North Platte with Pastor Clint Walker officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens in North Platte.&nbsp; Visitation will be on Friday, December 20, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Odean Colonial Chapel at C &amp; Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial.

Terrance Jean 'Terry' Tatman, age 86, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at Centennial Court Retirement Village in North Platte on Friday, December 13, 2019.

Terry was born on September 16, 1933 to Harold Jay, Sr. and Dorothy Mae (Hart) Tatman at Stapleton, Nebraska and grew up on a farm near Pleasanton, Nebraska.&nbsp; He graduated from Pleasanton High School and then farmed and worked for a trailer manufacturing business, building mobile homes in Kearney,&nbsp; Nebraska.&nbsp; After moving to North Platte, Nebraska, Terry worked construction with his family, then partnered with JR Keslar, forming Tatman-Keslar Construction Company.&nbsp; He went on to own Terry's Construction until retiring in the late '90's.

On December 27, 1953, Terry married Marlene Joyce Bedke in Kearney, Nebraska.&nbsp; They had four children and lived in Minden, Kearney and Cozad in&nbsp; Nebraska before settling in North Platte.&nbsp; Terry was a member of First Christian Church and North Platte Home Builders Association.

After retiring, he started doing stained glass projects and worked for Lake Maloney Golf Course.&nbsp; When his kids were young, Terry coached Little League Baseball and when he had grandkids, he taught them how to golf, which he really enjoyed.&nbsp; Terry loved his family and liked spending time with them gardening and golfing.&nbsp; He will be remembered for his knack of giving people a bad time and nicknames.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene of North Platte; his children, Ronald (Glenda) Tatman of Hayden, Idaho, Linda (Lew) Champ of Sterling, Colorado, Steve (Dana) Tatman of Caldwell, Idaho, and Scott (Suzette) Tatman of North Platte; grandchildren, Boni Jackson, Luke Tatman, Craig Tatman, Teri Sue Hoeksema, Josh Wietzel, Shaye Champ Correll, Chelsea Champ Lopez, Tyler Tatman, Mataya Belka, Shayla Paulman, and Chesney Tatman; 16 great-grandchildren and a great great grandson; brother Larry (Joyce) Tatman of North Platte and Fred (Carol) Tatman of Springdale, Arkansas; sisters-in-law, Sue Tatman of North Platte and Margaret Bedke of Kearney, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Sam (Cindy) Bedke of North Platte; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Harold, Sr. and Dorothy; brothers Harold, Jerry and Ronnie Tatman; and a great-grandson, Jacob.

Donald LeRoy Parrish, age 92, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at his home on Saturday, December 14, 2019.

Don was born on June 5, 1927 at Woodruff, Kansas to Clifford and Beulah Verneta (Stephenson) Parrish and grew up in Norcatur, Kansas.&nbsp; When he was a junior in high school, the family moved to North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; Don graduated from North Platte High School in 1945, then joined the U.S. Army a few months later.

Following his discharge in 1947, Don returned to North Platte where he was united in marriage to Doris Darlene Miller on December 17, 1947 at First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Don worked for J.C. Penney for several years and at different store locations.&nbsp; In 1961, he went to work for J.M. McDonald's in York, Nebraska.&nbsp; this job took the family to Carlsbad, New Mexico then Riverton, Wyoming.&nbsp; While in Wyoming he became manager of the Riverton Chamber of Commerce.

Doris and Don moved back to North Platte in 1976, then to Ogallala, Nebraska five years later when they bought the Ogallala Nursery.&nbsp; They returned again to North Platte in 1993 and retired.

Don was a proud veteran and member of the American Legion for 72 years.&nbsp; He was also a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and while in Riverton, Wyoming he was active with Kiwanis and the Sheriff's Association.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Doris, of North Platte; their children, Lynn Parrish of Overland Park, Kansas, Cindy (Clay) Trover of Albany, Georgia, and Dorene (Scott) McIntyre of Cheyenne, Wyoming; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; as well as other family.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Beulah; and a daughter-in-law, Karen Parrish.

(Swanson) Remus.&nbsp; She attended grade school at Echo School, then North Platte High School, graduating in 1971.&nbsp; After that, she started her lifelong career at Huebner's Supply, where she will be deeply missed.

On November 25, 1972, she married Keith L. Williams of North Platte.

Linda is survived by her husband, Keith of North Platte; daughter, Rebecca (Kenneth) Merklin of Gretna, Nebraska; grandson, Dillon Frosh of North Platte; step-granddaughter, Taylor Merklin of Lincoln, Nebraska; her mother, Betty Remus of Farnam, Nebraska; sisters, Patricia (Timothy) Baker of Curtis, Nebraska, Pamela (Robert) Clark of Rowlett, Texas, and Janet Remus of Spicer, Minnesota; her niece, Melisa (Thomas) Campbell and children of Curtis, Nebraska; nephews, Timothy W. and children, and Joseph and children all of Maywood, Nebraska; and many other family members; her cats; many friends and co-workers; and her adopted children and grandchildren.

Ronald Dean Mahnken, age 75, of North Platte, died unexpectedly at home on Monday, December 9, 2019.

Ron was born October 11, 1944, to Carl Frederik John and Dorothy Eva (Engel) Mahnken at Grant, Nebraska where he grew up.&nbsp; Ron graduated from Perkins County High School in 1962, then went on to graduate from drafting school in Denver, Colorado

On August 26, 1967, Ron was united in marriage to Carol June Johnson in North Platte, where they made their home.

Ron worked at Sears and Penny's Auto Centers before going to work for Sears and Penney's Auto Centers before going to work for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company.&nbsp; He retired in 2012 from the phone company, which was now Century Link.

Ron liked cars and racing and was a man of strong faith.&nbsp; He was baptized in october 1944 and confirmed on Palm Sunday in 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church near Ogallala, Nebraska.&nbsp; He was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in North Platte and was a devoted husband and father who loved his family very much.

He leaves behind his wife, Carol, and their son, Chad (Tara) Mahnken, all of North Platte; his sister, Barb (Charles) Hasenauer of North Platte; brothers Gary (Donna) Mahnken of North Platte and Keith (Connie) Mahnken of Grant; sister-in-law Diana (Jim) Newton of North Platte; as well as other family.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Carol and Dorothy.

Norma Jean Scott, age 88, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died on December 10, 2019 at her home in Gothenburg.

She was born on May 16, 1931 in Gothenburg, Nebraska, daughter of Martin and Lillian (Beller) Ostendorf.&nbsp; Norma was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska at Tabatha Orphanage.&nbsp; She also lived in Gothenburg, Cozad and Holdrege, Nebraska and Alaska.&nbsp; She married Walter E. Norma Jean Scott  (1931 - 2019

Delores (Dee) Pearl Reeves was born to William Vangie and Mary Henrietta (Greely) Reeves on October 12, 1935 at North Platte, Nebraska. She departed this world on November 4, 2019 at the age of 84. Delores graduated from North Platte High School and went on to nursing school to become an LPN. She gave birth to her only child, Barbara Jo Rose in 1954. Dee married Verden Leroy (Joe) Carpenter. Dee and Joe were happily married for over 50 years. They loved the Lord and were active in their church. Dee and Joe continually supported various ministries and missionaries over the years. Dee enjoyed traveling, especially taking trips back to Nebraska to visit family and to fish on the pontoon boat at Lake McConaughy. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Henrietta and William Vangie Reeves; her daughter, Barbara Jo Call; her husband, Verden Leroy Carpenter; sisters, Vikki Andersen, Violet Krovas, LuElla Schultz and LaVonne Spurgin; and a granddaughter, Angela Miller. Delores is survived by her brothers, Harold Reeves and Merle Reeves; her granddaughter, Harmoni Wagner; 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 8, 2019 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Vaughn Fahrenbruck officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Hagerstown, Maryland. Arlene was born on April 1, 1928 to Lawrence "Larry" and Evelyn Ruth (Noggle) Iseburg at Stromsburg, Nebraska, where she grew up. While at a skating rink in Grand Island, Nebraska, Arlene met and fell in love with a young man named Keith John Reiner. The two were married on June 2, 1948 at Grand Island, then moved to North Platte that August and later had three children. Arlene's first job was working at the Paramount Theater. She then worked as a waitress for the American Legion and the Airport Inn, working through four different owners at the airport. By the time she turn 70, Arlene retired. She was a hardworking, kind lady who loved her family and the Lord. She enjoyed the quietness of praying and loved baking cookies. She had baked for nearly everybody in town, and because of her baking, Arlene was able to pay off a $30,000 hospital bill by baking and selling her cookies. She asked for nothing and was grateful for everything. Arlene is survived by her children, Janice (Garry) Morris of North Platte, and John Reiner of Littleton, Colorado; 7 grandkids, 4 great-grandkids, and 4 great great-grandkids; her sister Barbara Eastman of Giltner, Nebraska; as well as other family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith, and their son, Richard; her father, Larry Iseburg; her mother and step-father, Evelyn and Jack Britton; sisters, Dorothy, Margaret, Betty and Elaine; her brother, Bernard; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Reiner; and a brother-in-law, Daryle Eastman. Cremation was chosen and services will be held at a later date. Pat Nisley McCarty, age 92 of North Platte and Omaha, died July 26, 2019 at Emerald Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Cozad. Pat was born February 7, 1927 in Guernsey, WY to Paul and Gertrude (Bohlen) Nisley. Pat grew up in North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School. She married Ray McCarty on October 7, 1946. Pat worked at North Western Bell Telephone Company starting as an operator then moving to the business office.&nbsp;She also worked at Tuckers Café, Pawnee Hotel and the Tom Tom Restaurant. Pat was an avid bowler, she enjoyed going to Las Vegas and gambling. After Ray’s death in 1973, she moved to Omaha where she sold World Book. She also worked at Anthony’s Restaurant and West in the business office. Survivors include four children: Jerry (Nellie) McCarty from North Platte, Gary (Deanna) McCarty of Loveland, Co, Randy (Loreen) McCarty of Longmont, Co. and Patricia ”Trish” (Larry) Liljestrand of North Platte; two brothers, Jim Nisley from Wisconsin; and Bob Nisley of Washington; three sisters, Diana Henry from North Platte, Barb Harkins from Iowa, and Marietta Bradford from California; fifteen grandchildren; thirty five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Paul and Charles Nisley. Memorials can be donated to Fur the Love of Paws and Great Plains Hospice.
