Garrett J. Tvrs, 33, of Sidney passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 in Sidney.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Sidney E-Free Church with Pastors Kyle Larson and Bud Gillespie officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in the Dalton Cemetery.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Memorials in Garrett’s name can be made to the family for later designation.&nbsp;

Garrett James Tvrs was born on December 16, 1989 in Sidney, Nebraska to Jeff and Kris (Craig) Tvrs. In Garrett’s younger years, he was involved in the Sidney Swim Team and Boy Scouts. You could find him hunting at the river with his sister Jami, toying with anything that would boom or pop, and raising havoc with friends that lasted his lifetime. He attended Sidney Public Schools, later graduating in 2008 from Leyton High School.

Shortly after high school, he became the family’s third generation entering the line trade.&nbsp; His late grandfather Tvrs worked for Hamin Electric, while he and his father have worked for Ward Electric Company. As a member of the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), he enjoyed traveling for storm work and operating heavy equipment. He cherished the many friends he met through the trade.

In February of 2011, he was given the biggest blessing by becoming Emerson Grace’s father. She was the center of his world and his reason for living. He enjoyed teaching her to hunt, love the outdoors, and that the best food came from the Silver Dollar. Most recently, they bonded while driving his side-by-side.

He was “Uncle G” to many of his lifelong friends’ children and enjoyed teaching them their first words – which usually weren’t appropriate.&nbsp; As a kid at heart himself, he easily connected and encouraged them to live every day to its fullest. His close family and friends best describe Garrett as loyal, lucky, the life of the party, bluntly honest, ornery, selfless, persistent, and unapologetic. Ultimately, he wouldn’t take no for an answer and was always there, no questions asked. All who knew him, knew that he found solace and freedom on the open road while on his Harley. He found peace with specially curated music playlists and the wind in his beard.

Garrett is survived by his daughter, Emerson Tvrs and her mother Kathryn Brown; his parents Jeff and Kris (Craig) Tvrs; sister Jami Tvrs; grandmothers Sue (Gollehon) Tvrs and Sherry (Wacker) Craig; uncles and aunts Russ and Barb Krafft and children Maggie, Carlee, and James; Ed and Denise Tvrs and children Mason and Gaige; Don and Cindy Lemmon; Jeff and Mimi Feagler; Jo Anne Pearson; Justin and Jodi Craig; Samantha Craig; Eric and Casey Hansen; Nathan Craig; numerous cousins; close friends Whitney Whatley, Quinn and Julie Lund, Kohlton and Megan Price, Jeremy and Valerie Tucker; special uncle and aunt Bruce and Pat Dobry; and special family friends Larry and Shawna Brown, Don and Sherrie Dudley.

Harvey Duane Wilson of Cozad passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Kearney Regional Hospital at the age of 84. Harvey was born July 26, 1938 in Kansas to John and Nellie (Pentecost) Wilson. He married Phyllis Bickford on March 7, 1960. Their union was blessed with 3 children, Judy, Mary and Casey. They lived in Kearney and worked at the Turkey Plant in Gibbon, then moving to Gibbon to work on the Turkey Ranch. In 1970 they moved to Cozad where Harvey worked for over 30 years at Monroe Auto. Harvey loved to farm and raise hogs, ducks, geese, chickens, cows and turkeys. In his spare time, he loved to fish, hunt, play Keno and watch Husker football. He played basketball, slow pitch softball and loved to drink beer with “Old Red” the sow. Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Phyllis; sisters, Bonnie, Margie, Josephine, Erma and Verna; brothers, Kenny, Jerome and Dennis. Survivors include his children, Judy Wilson of Cozad, Mary (Gaylord) Stauffer of Lincoln and Casey (Deanna) Wilson of Cozad; grandchildren, Tommy (Esther) Wilson, Jeff Stauffer, Christina Stauffer, Zachary (Abigail) Stauffer, Kayla Stauffer, Heather Wilson and Luke, Cody (Shelbie) Wilson, Jared Wilson and Kristen, Timmy Wilson; great grandchildren, Bentley Wilson, Elijah Ross and Faith Ross; brother, John (Arlene) Wilson; sister-in-law, Sue Wilson; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Harvey D. Wilson (1938-2023)

Barbara Alice (Pinkerton) Nootz, passed away on June 20, 2023, at the age of 90, in Grant, NE. She was born on March 26, 1933, in Loomis, NE, to Ray and Grace (Hatting) Pinkerton. Barb lived a full and rewarding life that was filled with generosity, service, and love. She had many friends, and she enjoyed meeting them daily at “coffee” during retirement.&nbsp; Family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Barb graduated from Loomis High School in 1951 and after teaching at a country school briefly, went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Kearney State Teacher's College (UNK) and her master’s in education administration from the University of Northern Colorado.&nbsp; After college, she taught in Holdrege schools, then moved to Ogallala where she met her beloved husband, Lyle.&nbsp; They were married June 20, 1965 and had 58 wonderful years together.&nbsp; During her career, she devoted 42 years of her life to the field of teaching, including work in the classroom and 11 years as a principal.&nbsp; Her love for teaching was evident in her work, and she especially loved teaching fourth grade.

Barb was a devoted member of the Global Methodist Church in Ogallala, NE. She was an active member of several organizations throughout her life including Extension club, AAUW, Guard auxiliary, UMW, Royal Neighbors, Ogallala Booster Club, and Moose Lodge. &nbsp;In her retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the Kenfield gallery.&nbsp; She was a wonderful cook and was often found baking or making food for others.&nbsp; She also enjoyed gardening (especially her roses), going to high school sports, and spending time with her grandkids.

Barb is survived by her loving husband, Lyle Nootz, of Ogallala; her daughter Janelle (Joseph) Chakounis of Centennial CO; and her grandchildren Alexander and Sofia. &nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Grace Pinkerton; and her brothers, James, Robert, and William Pinkerton.

The funeral service will be held at Draucker Funeral Home in Ogallala, NE on Monday, June 26, at 2 pm MT, officiated by Pastor Michael Loy, followed by a reception at the Kenfield gallery. The internment will take place at the Moses Hill Cemetery in Holdrege, NE, on Tuesday, June 27, at 1 pm CT officiated by Reverend Chuck Rager.

Barbara A. Nootz (1933-2023)

Harlan William Kepler, 87, of North Platte, NE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Linden Court.

Harlan was born on April 11, 1936 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of William Charles and Wilhelmina (Hodge) Kepler. &nbsp;Harlan was married on December 21, 1957 in Omaha to Linda L. Rybin and together they had three children. &nbsp;Harlan spent his entire career as a telephone splicer with Northwestern Bell Telephone and its later subsidiaries until his retirement in 1993. &nbsp;He enjoyed camping with his family and especially loved lake fishing in Minnesota. &nbsp;

Harlan is survived by a son, Michael (Becky) Kepler of IA; daughters, Diane (Stacey) Sharp of North Platte and Karen Kepler of North Platte; grandchildren, Steven and Jacob Kepler, Greg Lindekugel, Steven (Nikki) Lindekugel, Michael (Allison) Steele, and Seth Pell; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Colleen Mau of Omaha.

Harlan was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife of 50 years, Linda.

Robert was born May 1, 1963 in North Platte, Nebraska to Gary and Beverly (Parker) Dunmire. Robert attended school in Gothenburg, Nebraska and Emporia, Kansas. He enlisted in the U.S. Army. Robert was blessed with 3 children: Brad, Dan and Aimee. The family lived various places before making their home in Cozad in 2008. He worked several jobs and always took great pride in what he did, always giving 100%. Robert spent his life trying to make everyone laugh, always telling jokes. He said the world was too serious. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Robert loved heavy metal and 80’s hair band music and he enjoyed playing the electric guitar. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Dean Dunmire; and nephew, T.J. Coffey. Survivors include his children, Brad (Amy) Dunmire of Scottsbluff, Dan (Brandy-Jo) Dunmire of VA and Aimee Dunmire of VA; grandchildren, Peter Dunmire and Naomi Dunmire of Scottsbluff, Aidan Felton and Kaylee Webster of VA; brother, Steve Dunmire of Gothenburg; sisters, Deb Coffey of Gothenburg, and Tricia (E.J.) Robert Eugene Dunmire (1963-2023)

Donald “Don” Ellingson age 94, formerly of Broken Bow, NE passed away June 19, 2023, at the Country House Assisted Living of Kearney, NE.

Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Govier Brothers Chapel in Broken Bow, NE. Burial will be in the Broken Bow Cemetery with Military Honors. Donald Ellingson, age 94, passed away Monday, June 19th at CountryHouse Residence in Kearney. Don was born November 6th, 1928, in Broken Bow to Nordal and Ruby Ellingson. He grew up with his older sister and two younger brothers. He met his future wife Beverly Helmuth at a dance in Oconto and proceeded to get married and have two children: Gary and Debra.

Don was a man with a wide variety of skills and was very active in his community. He proudly served in the Korean War as a surveyor. He also spent decades as the Register of Deeds for Custer County. In addition, he broke horses, ran Don’s Used Cars, served as a volunteer firefighter, was a member of the legion, owned a car wash, and just overall loved being active in any way that he could. He once said that staying active was the secret to life.

Most of all Don’s greatest achievement in life was the love that he had for the people around him. He enjoyed making sure that everyone was taken care of. He was a man that couldn’t sit still and could always be found tinkering with something or fixing things in a creative way. His not-so-guilty pleasure was watching WWE Wrestling and teaching the moves to his grandkids. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, big heart, and his stubborn streak. Don will be deeply missed by those that have known and loved him.

Donald is survived by his sister Margie Ellingson, brothers Harold and Robert Ellingson; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He is proceded in death by his parents Nordal and Ruby Ellingson; Wife Beverly Ellingson; children Gary Ellingson and Debra Lauby.

Don was born November 6th, 1928, in Broken Bow to Nordal and Ruby Ellingson. He grew up with his older sister and two younger brothers. He met his future wife Beverly Helmuth at a dance in Oconto and proceeded to get married and have two children: Gary and Debra.Don was a man with a wide variety of skills and was very active in his community. He proudly served in the Korean War as a surveyor. He also spent decades as the Register of Deeds for Custer County. In addition, he broke horses, ran Don’s Used Cars, served as a volunteer firefighter, was a member of the legion, owned a car wash, and just overall loved being active in any way that he could. He once said that staying active was the secret to life.Most of all Don’s greatest achievement in life was the love that he had for the people around him. He enjoyed making sure that everyone was taken care of. He was a man that couldn’t sit still and could always be found tinkering with something or fixing things in a creative way. His not-so-guilty pleasure was watching WWE Wrestling and teaching the moves to his grandkids. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, big heart, and his stubborn streak. Don will be deeply missed by those that have known and loved him.Donald is survived by his sister Margie Ellingson, brothers Harold and Robert Ellingson; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He is proceded in death by his parents Nordal and Ruby Ellingson; Wife Beverly Ellingson; children Gary Ellingson and Debra Lauby.

Scott Alan Leatherman passed away on June 9, 2023, at his home in Wallace, NE. He had been dealing with numerous health issues for a while.

Scott was born Nov 18, 1959, the 3rd of 4 boys to Alta and Sam Leatherman. He grew up in Casper, Wyoming, where he attended neighborhood churches, being very active in the youth groups. He maintained his love for Christ throughout his life.

He graduated from Kelly Walsh High School in 1978, where he played defense on the football team.

After high school, he held various jobs, including seismograph, roughneck, office moving company, chemical tank cleaning.

Scotty moved to Wallace in 2008 following the death of his mother, to care for his father.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Alta (Dyck) Leatherman (2008), his father, Sam Leatherman (2013), and brother Steven (2016). He is survived by brother Stan (and Jacki) of Oklahoma City and brother Spencer (and Tonya) of Wallace, as well as nieces, nephews and numerous lifelong friends.

He loved getting to know and spending time with his nephew Taylor after Spencer and family moved to Wallace.

If you were Scotty's friend, you were his friend for life. He always maintained contact with long-time acquaintances and distant relatives, even without the aid of Facebook.

Scott will always be remembered for his wry wit, huge heart, generous spirit and love of all sports, especially football, and particularly, the Green Bay Packers.

Scott A. Leatherman (1959-2023)

Roger William Hood, 80, of North Platte, passed away at Great Plains Health on June 18, 2023. &nbsp;He was born to Harold and Eleanor (Jorgensen) Hood on September 22, 1942 in Gothenburg, NE.

Roger was raised in Gothenburg, where he also attended school. &nbsp;On October 22, 1960, he married Doris Harriman. &nbsp;They had five children together: Rick, Stan, Roger Jr., Sherri, and Deborah, who passed away in infancy. &nbsp;His wife, Doris, passed away in May of 2005. &nbsp;Roger later met Ruomi Lewis in 2007. &nbsp;The couple married on July 17, 2017 in Stapleton, NE. &nbsp;They lived in Brady and Gothenburg before making their home in North Platte.

For several years, Roger and his brother, Don, drove a semi-truck cross-country. &nbsp;He then worked for Sargent’s Irrigation in Gothenburg and most recently, for the City of Gothenburg in the maintenance department for 26 years before retiring due to health issues. &nbsp;

Roger was an avid outdoorsman. &nbsp;He loved camping and taking his grandson fishing. &nbsp;Family BBQs were a regular event for the Hood family. &nbsp;He loved to grill and taught many the art of grilling. &nbsp;Roger was quite a character, always teasing and cracking jokes. &nbsp;Always holding a special bond with his grandkids, he was given the nickname “Eeyore” by a granddaughter. &nbsp;Roger never lost his sense of humor, even throughout his health struggles.

Family left to remember Roger’s spirit include his wife, Ruomi, of North Platte; children, Rick (Tish) Hood, of Brady, Stan (Crystal) Hood, of Brady, Roger Jr. (Cammy) Hood, of Sioux Falls, SD, and Sherri (Justin) Lazootin, of Blue Springs, MO; 7 granddaughters; 6 grandsons; 20 great grandchildren; sister, Sandy Thompson, Wallisville, TX; siblings-in-law, Don Harriman, of Colorado, Donna Lange, of Callaway, Mary (Kenny) Robbins, of Alliance, Kathy (Jack) Andersen, of Lakeside, Donna (Myron) Kugler, of Corpus Christi, TX, JoAnn (Kenny) Rundback, of Stapleton; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family.

Those that preceded him in death are his parents; infant daughter, Deborah; wife, Doris; brother, Don Hood; sisters, Norma Sanchez and Joan Heimen.

&nbsp; Pauline Shultz peacefully passed away at home in North Platte on June 19, 2023, at the age of 92. Pauline, the youngest of 13 children born to Peter and Amelia Stamm, was born November 24, 1930, in Lakeview, WY.&nbsp; She grew up in Wheatland and Cheyenne. On December 4, 1948, Pauline married Carl W. Shultz in Cheyenne.&nbsp; The couple lived in Cheyenne until 1967 when they moved to Northglenn, CO, then settled in North Platte a couple years later. Pauline was a woman of faith and had always been a church lady. She was a member of First Church of God for over 30 years, then the First United Methodist Church these past five years.&nbsp; She was an active member of the Social Order of the Beauceant and served as president in 1980 and 1993. Over the years Pauline enjoyed bowling, golf and dancing.&nbsp; She also liked crocheting anything from dolls to sweaters to plastic canvas. Pauline loved her family and will always be remembered as a very giving lady. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 7 sisters and 4 brothers; her great-grandson, Wyatt, and great great-grandson, Jasper. Survivors include Pauline's children, Jay (Nancy) Shultz of Pueblo, CO, Ben Shultz of Wheatland, WY, and LuAnn Lee, Kim (Wayne) Douglas and Teri Shultz, all of North Platte; her sister, Rosanna Howe of Gillette, WY; 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, a great great-granddaughter and numerous other family members. &nbsp; Glenice Lorraine (Gaibler) Discoe, of McCook, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away at the Independence Houses / Mandarin in Lincoln, Nebraska early Sunday morning June 18, 2023. &nbsp;She was 89 years old.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; Glenice was born to Gladys (Velte) and Fred Gaibler on May 16, 1934 in Farnam, NE. &nbsp;She graduated from Farnam High School in 1952 and married Kenny Discoe of Gothenburg, NE on September 21, 1952.

&nbsp; &nbsp; The couple was blessed with four children: Barbara Ann, Connie Jo, Tony Alan and Cindy Lou. &nbsp;In June 1966, the family moved from Alliance to McCook where Kenny was a brand inspector for the Nebraska Brand Committee.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Glenice belonged to the United Methodist Women’s Church Circle and the Memorial United Methodist Church of McCook, and the Better Halves Extension Club, Red Willow County.

&nbsp; &nbsp; She worked at Wheelers/Country General and at the sale ring at the North Sale Barn in McCook. &nbsp;She volunteered for many years at the Helping Hands Thrift Shop in downtown McCook. &nbsp;She enjoyed sewing and working with wood. &nbsp;She particularly enjoyed her grandchildren.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband Kenny on September 15, 2009.

Glenice Lorraine Discoe (1934-2023)

Augusta “June” Tolle, 88, was born in Nampa, ID on June 6, 1935 to Ruth (Houston) and Carl Roy Jankovsky. &nbsp;She went home to her Heavenly Father on June 16, 2023 at her home in Maxwell, Nebraska surrounded by her loving family. &nbsp;

June grew up in Cheyenne, WY. &nbsp;She attended Central High School and graduated with the class of 1953. &nbsp;On May 24, 1952 she married Donald Tolle. To this union 7 children were born; Delores (Kenny) Barnum, Sharon (Doug) Gutherless, Steve (Marilyn) Tolle, Deborah (Sam) Ridge, Julie (Vic) Najar, David (Betty) Tolle, Richard Tolle. &nbsp;After raising her own children and devoting her life to them she also raised her grandchildren; Brianna (Josh) Rico, Logan (Alisha) Allen as her very own. &nbsp;She played a big role in raising their children as well. &nbsp; Don and June moved to Maxwell in 1970. &nbsp;June was a loving, Christian woman who had a soft spot in her heart for all children. &nbsp;All of her children’s friends knew her as “Mama June” and she loved them as her own. &nbsp;She will be remembered for her loving heart, hard working hands, cooking, baking and her beautiful smile. &nbsp;June was a great listener and always had a hug, a smile and advice for those in need. &nbsp;Many problems were solved at her kitchen table with a pot of coffee.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; grandchildren, Matt (Mary) Barnum, Lori Gutherless, Brian Tolle, Tara (Jason) Trisdale, Michael (Kristen) Tolle, Chris (Renee) Tolle, Donovan Tolle, Brandon (Cortney) Tolle, Steven (Hallee) Tolle, Dustin (Trish) Dunton, Jade (Doug) Markey and Alexis Najar; brother Donald (Laura) Jankovsky, sister Patty Merwin; 52 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; in addition to her own grandchildren, she was known as “Grandma June” to Madison Street, Nikki Fitch, Luke (Allie) Sommer, Shannon Sommer (Harmon), Brady (Abby) Rosenblad, Eric (Kaytie) Parker, Sue Boon, Tyler Hughes, (little) Jake Nekuda, Pete Burke and Cody Seamann; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends and loved ones.

June is preceded in death by her husband Don; parents Ruth and Carl Roy Jankovsky; brother Carl Roy; granddaughters Jennifer Kovanda, and Kresha Evans and honorary grandson Alex Fenney.

Her family would like to thank her amazing care team for all they have done. &nbsp;Dr. Michael Nelson, Joni Sandoval, Dr. Pushar Kanade and the North Platte Kidney Care and the dialysis staff. &nbsp;

 </figure>Augusta “June” Tolle, 88, was born in Nampa, ID on June 6, 1935 to Ruth (Houston) and Carl Roy Jankovsky. &nbsp;She went home to her Heavenly Father on June 16, 2023 at her home in Maxwell, Nebraska surrounded by her loving family. &nbsp;June grew up in Cheyenne, WY. &nbsp;She attended Central High School and graduated with the class of 1953. &nbsp;On May 24, 1952 she married Donald Tolle. To this union 7 children were born; Delores (Kenny) Barnum, Sharon (Doug) Gutherless, Steve (Marilyn) Tolle, Deborah (Sam) Ridge, Julie (Vic) Najar, David (Betty) Tolle, Richard Tolle. &nbsp;After raising her own children and devoting her life to them she also raised her grandchildren; Brianna (Josh) Rico, Logan (Alisha) Allen as her very own. &nbsp;She played a big role in raising their children as well. &nbsp; Don and June moved to Maxwell in 1970. &nbsp;June was a loving, Christian woman who had a soft spot in her heart for all children. &nbsp;All of her children’s friends knew her as “Mama June” and she loved them as her own. &nbsp;She will be remembered for her loving heart, hard working hands, cooking, baking and her beautiful smile. &nbsp;June was a great listener and always had a hug, a smile and advice for those in need. &nbsp;Many problems were solved at her kitchen table with a pot of coffee.Left to cherish her memory are her children; grandchildren, Matt (Mary) Barnum, Lori Gutherless, Brian Tolle, Tara (Jason) Trisdale, Michael (Kristen) Tolle, Chris (Renee) Tolle, Donovan Tolle, Brandon (Cortney) Tolle, Steven (Hallee) Tolle, Dustin (Trish) Dunton, Jade (Doug) Markey and Alexis Najar; brother Donald (Laura) Jankovsky, sister Patty Merwin; 52 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; in addition to her own grandchildren, she was known as “Grandma June” to Madison Street, Nikki Fitch, Luke (Allie) Sommer, Shannon Sommer (Harmon), Brady (Abby) Rosenblad, Eric (Kaytie) Parker, Sue Boon, Tyler Hughes, (little) Jake Nekuda, Pete Burke and Cody Seamann; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many friends and loved ones.June is preceded in death by her husband Don; parents Ruth and Carl Roy Jankovsky; brother Carl Roy; granddaughters Jennifer Kovanda, and Kresha Evans and honorary grandson Alex Fenney.Her family would like to thank her amazing care team for all they have done. &nbsp;Dr. Michael Nelson, Joni Sandoval, Dr. Pushar Kanade and the North Platte Kidney Care and the dialysis staff. &nbsp;In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested in June’s name. &nbsp;Online condolences may be shared at www.adamsswanson.com.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the First Baptist Church, Maxwell, NE with Rev. On September 12, 1954 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Gothenburg, she was united in marriage with Donald W. Cook and to this union two daughters were born: Debra and Sandra. Alverda enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, sewing, reading, doing crafts, and watching Husker football and volleyball. During her lifetime, she was a Girl Scout Brownie's leader, and member of Tuesday Tickers Extension Club, Hilltop Birthday Club, American Lutheran Church, and American Legion Auxiliary.&nbsp;

She is survived by her two daughters, Debra (David) Clark and Sandra (Lonnie) Warner, a granddaughter, Ashley (Rob) Micek and their daughter Ari of Grand Island, three grandsons, Jed Clark of Salem, Oregon, Adam Warner (Andrea Ostendorf) and Caleb (Stephanie) Warner and their children Dakota, Amos and Callen all of Gothenburg. She is also survived by one niece and four nephews.

Alverda was proceeded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister, Arlene Gifford, sister-in-law, Marion Eilers, brothers-in-law John Gifford and Richard Eilers and nephew Brian Eilers.

Alverda Cook (1931-2023)

Larry A. Stubby, 72, formerly of Gering, NE passed away on Friday, June 16th, 2023, at his home in North Platte, NE.

Larry, the only child of Mollie (Becker) and Leroy Stubby, was born on February 8th, 1951, in Scottsbluff, NE. In 1970, he married Karen Graves and together they had three children. Larry spent most of his life residing south of Gering, where he took pleasure in sitting outside and admiring the valley. He worked as an irrigation specialist for various pivot companies throughout Western NE. Larry had a passion for watching and collecting all things NASCAR, with a special fondness for Dale Earnhardt. He also enjoyed gardening, canning, and was particularly known for his world-famous salsa. His other hobbies included cooking, creating recipes, and collecting antiques. He eagerly anticipated holidays, cherishing moments with his family, and often emerged victorious in cribbage games against anyone he played. Larry was a funny, kind, and generous man who cherished his time with his children and grandchildren. He had a warm heart for people and easily made friends.&nbsp;

Larry is survived by his children: Troy Stubby of Westminster, CO, Traci (Dan) Shavlik of North Platte, NE, and Tory (Rachelle) Stubby of Lakewood, CO. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Amalia Stubby, Brooklyn DeClaw, Devon (Kyle) Shrum, Molly (Tyler) Vlasin, Cory Morrison, Sadie Shavlik, Harper Stubby, and Morgan Stubby. Additionally, his great-grandchildren Kyler and Camden, his friend and former spouse Karen Stroh; his brother Timothy Hessler; his sister Carol (David) Rice; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his special second mom, Verna Feeser; and his best friends Bob Keller, Bob Green, and Dennis Cardiff, all hold dear memories of Larry. He also leaves behind his beloved cat, Poo-2.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his infant son Tyler, and his siblings: Bill Becker, Betty Clouse, Richard Clouse, Leland Clouse, Jerry Stubby, Don Stubby, and Jean Hendren.

Larry A. Stubby (1951-2023)

Anna Mae Cool age 94 of Broken Bow, died June 16, 2023, at the Brookestone View in Broken Bow. &nbsp;

On March 3,1929, a special gift was given to Glenn and Opal Mae (Huffman) Cool. She was named Anna Mae. Weighing only 4 pounds at birth, she was not expected to live through the night. But God had other things in mind for her. She lived on the farm with her family and learned to milk cows and do other farm and household chores. &nbsp;Anna Mae remained living with her parents until she was 40 years of age, then entered Bethphage Mission at Axtell, NE. Here she learned to be more independent and also was given some training which she used when she left Axtell and moved to Holdrege. Anna Mae learned at the workshop how to weave rugs that were sold in that shop. She received a paycheck for her work, which she thought was a great new thing for her.

September 2014 she moved to Heritage Hall in Broken Bow so she would be close to her family. She loved this move. Anna Mae especially enjoyed the afternoon music entertainment. Her favorite song became “You Are My Sunshine.” Anna Mae then moved to Brookestone View. Everyone in Heritage Hall and Brookestone became her friend and she will be sadly missed by staff and residents as well as her family. Throughout her 94 years she always had a jigsaw puzzle going. If a puzzle included her favorite things, babies, animals, especially puppies and kitties, it was a bonus for sure. She enjoyed sitting in the common area where she could ‘meet and greet’ all who passed by the puzzle table.

AnnaMae went home to her family in heaven on June 16, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Laguene, Leroy, Karl, and sister Erma Rae Spanel. She is survived by sisters Wanda Ritchie and Shirley Howard, and brother Boyd (Mary Anne) and sister-in-law Letha Cool and a host of nieces and nephews.

Anna Mae Cool (1929-2023)

&nbsp;Marva Elaine (Beal) Smith&nbsp; passed away on June 6, 2023, at the age of 93 in Payson, Arizona. Marva was born on May 19, 1930, in Julesburg, Colorado to Omer and Juanita Beal. She attended Brule, Big Springs and Ogallala High Schools in Nebraska. Marva married French Dwayne Smith and together they had five children. Sadly, French Dwayne, James, and Julia Ann preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Marva was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. Marva is survived by her sons, John and Michael Smith, her daughter, Betha Rozanne, her sister, Mary Helen Palser her brother, Ivan (Barb) Beal and many grand children and great grandchildren.

In her free time, Marva enjoyed volunteering as a seamstress at the Payson, AZ Humane Society and Payson, AZ Senior Center. She had a passion for sewing and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, at 2:00 pm in&nbsp; the Ogallala Cemetery,&nbsp; with the Rev. Blake Wilkes of Arthur Baptist Church officiating.&nbsp; Marva will be laid to rest next to her husband French Dwayne.

Marva Elaine Smith (1930-2023)

Margaret Peckham Lind, 98, fell asleep in Jesus on June 15, 2023 in Gothenburg, NE.

She was born February 6, 1925 in Omaha, NE, daughter of Hubert and Gladys (Hammond) Peckham and was brought home to the family's big farm house, where her great grandfather had settled in 1879. &nbsp;This has been home throughout her life.&nbsp; Margaret attended Lone Star School, then Gothenburg High School, graduating in 1942. &nbsp;She went on to Sioux Falls College in South Dakota for two years, then to Union College, Lincoln, NE taking the nursing program which included Boulder Sanitarium and Porter Hospital in Colorado. &nbsp;There were 15 young nurses who graduated in 1948 and they remained a close knit group through the years. &nbsp;Margaret was apparently the last to survive.

She nursed at the Gothenburg Hospital from 1950 - 1959, then with her sister, she moved to Massachusetts where she was a OB-GYN nurse at New England Sanitarium in Stoneham, MA for 13 years.

On October 14, 1971 Margaret married a Farnam rancher, Albert Lind, and so became a busy farm wife, with chickens, milk cows, a very large garden of vegetables and flowers. &nbsp;Margaret continued nursing at the North Platte hospital until retirement in 1990; a more that 40-year career. &nbsp;She also was the care giver for her declining mother who died in 1978 and then her father who died in 1990. &nbsp;There were also 4 young nieces in the home to which she was devoted.

Margaret and Albert were members of the Seventh-Day Adventist church, holding many responsibilities including church treasurer for many years. &nbsp;Even in her last week she was determined to be at church.

Albert passed away in 2010, but she continued with the warm affection for her flowers and many kitty cats.

Survivors include sister, Mary Lou Peckham; five nieces, Carolyn Nelson, Jacque Shotkoski, Marilyn Hayes, Deea Peckham all of Lincoln, Barbara Devine of Phoenix, AZ; four nephews, Douglas Peckham of Gothenburg and David Peckham of Indianola, Kim Peckham of Lincoln, John M. Peckham of Burleson, TX.

Margaret was preceded in death by husband, Albert C. Lind and two brothers, John Stetson Peckham and Daniel Hammond Peckham.

Visitation will be Monday, June 19, 2023, 4:00 - 7:00 pm with family present from 4:00-6:00 pm at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, NE

Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, June 20, 2023 at 11:00 am with Pastor Fred Grant officiating. &nbsp;

We mourn the loss of our Father, Gael Norman Heck, 98, who crossed the bridge on June 17th to reunite with the love of his life, Lea.

Born in Anita, Iowa on January 7, 1925 to John and Alvah Heck, he helped his parents farm until entering the US Navy in June of 1944 during WWII. Dad was assigned to the destroyer, U.S.S. Knapp, as a Machinists Mate, 3rd Class and was on board in Tokyo Bay for the signing of the Japanese surrender. &nbsp;Shortly after leaving the Navy in 1946, he met our mother, Lea Donna Phillips, and they married in 1947. While living at Jeffrey Lake, Brady, Dad worked for the Union Pacific Railroad before starting his own heavy equipment business, Gael Heck Land Improvement. Later they moved to North Platte where Dad volunteered as a VA van driver and at many other places. There were three of us kids born to this happy union: Bradley, Kyla, and Janiece (Jan).

Dad and Mom loved to travel and they enjoyed their motorcycle. &nbsp;They were married for 71 years before Mom left us in September 2018. &nbsp;He missed the love his life every day until his passing.

Dad was also preceded in death by his parents, John and Alvah; Clyde (brother); Marian Rosenblad (sister); and our sister, Kyla (sp. Carl Cox). He is survived by a son, Bradley (June) Heck of Huntingdon, TN; daughter, Jan (Brian) Lipinski of North Platte, NE; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and extended family.

Viewing and visitation with family will be at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, 1616 W. B St., North Platte, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. Graveside services with military honors will follow immediately after at 11:00 a.m. at Fort McPherson National Veterans Cemetery, south of Maxwell. Gael Norman Heck (1925-2023)

Philip Thomas Olsen, 72, of North Platte, NE passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at his home.

He was born on March 13, 1951 in Hastings, NE the son of Chris and Doris (Jacobsen) Olsen. &nbsp;He graduated from Omaha Benson High School in 1969. &nbsp;He then attended NE Christian College in Norfolk, and then Cloud Community College in Colby, KS with a degree in long-term care administration. &nbsp;Phil was a practicing Christian minister and clergyman for over thirty years. &nbsp;He also loved sports and was a baseball and softball college recruiter for several years.

Phil is survived by daughters, Kimberly (Darrin) Coe of River Falls, WI, and Lisa (David) Fauss of North Platte, NE; grandchildren, Duncan, Jensen, Rowan, Kaylen, and Lillian Coe; brother, Steven (Maureen) Olsen of Omaha, NE; sister in law, Marilyn Lager; and nephews, Chris Olsen, Tyler Olsen, and Derek Olsen; niece, Kendra Foster.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Dennis.

Friends are invited to visit with family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Valley Christian Church with Rev. Joel Miller officiating. &nbsp;Private inurnment will be in the Springwell Danish Cemetery in Omaha.

Philip Thomas Olsen (1951-2023)

Lucile Margelin (Chamberlin) Burns was born June 23, 1924, to Dwight and Marie (Funston) Chamberlin 4 miles northeast of Mason City, and passed away Wednesday June 14th, 2023, just 9 days short of her 99th Birthday. Lucile was the youngest of her 5 siblings.

Lucile road her pony to Mt. Pleasant Country School and graduated from Mason City Public School in 1942. She took Normal Training Classes after High School and taught at Mt. Pleasant Country School for 3 years earning only a $100.00 a month.

Lucile married Joel "Ike" Burns on June 22,1945 in Phillipsburg, Kansas when Ike was on furlough from the Army Air Force. They traveled to Philipsburg in Lucile's Dads car and used Gas Ration Stamps to pay for their gas. They were married 50 years, and were blessed with 3 children, Eugene, Janet, and Jolene. Joel passed away June 27,1995.

Lucile was a hardworking farm wife. Always following the 3 kids in their many school activities, ball games, and 4-H.

After Joel's death, Lucile continued to live in her own home until age 94 and then moved to Kearney to live with her dear Niece, Marcile Woodward. She spent 5 wonderful years with Marcile.

She loved cooking and making pies especially Raisin Sweet Cream. She always had a plate of cookies ready to serve anyone walking thru the front door.

Lucile was Baptized at the Mason City Baptist Church on January 18, 1981. She enjoyed being a part of the Church Family and serving in many offices and positions of the Church.

Lucile was active in many Mason City organizations such as Senior Citizens, the local Historical Groups, and Sunshine Club. She was a proud 77-year-old member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved readings, poems, and making up programs for different organizations.

Lucile is proceeded in death by her parents, in-laws, Husband Joel, Son in-law Charles Brandt, and Daughter in-law Kathy Burns.

Survivors include children Eugene and LuAnn Burns of Mason City, Ed and Janet Spencer of Mason City, and Jolene Brandt of Kearney. Her 5 grandchildren Britt (Bill) Howard, Stephanie (Tony) Corbin, Kari (Andre) Harper, Mindi Spivey, and TJ (Lauren) Brandt. Step Grandchildren Jennifer (Mark) Goiter, Ryker and Decker, Eric (Kelly) Unick, Scott (Kristie) Unick, Paxon and Kayne, Kevin Unick, Dakota (Christine) Corbin, Riggin, and Chase (Chantel) Corbin.

Great grandchildren Spencer (Mikayla) Hawkins, Nicholas Hawkins, Amber (fiancé Austin) Howard, Rilee Howard, NaTasha Beck, Katelin Beck, Jayven Brandt, Barker and Ripley Brandt, and Mak Spivey. Lucile Burns (1924-2023)

Sandra “Sandy” S. Schnacker, 79, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at Lexington Regional Medical Center in Lexington.

She was born on July 15, 1943, in Cozad, Nebraska, to Virgil Victor and Sophie Elnora (Weiland) Peden. Sandy attended Cozad public schools and Cozad High School. On January 10, 1964, she was united in marriage to James Coryell in North Platte. To this union, two wonderful daughters were born: Jody and Tammy. On April 21, 1979, Sandy found love again and was united in marriage to Gary Schnacker in Lexington and welcomed his two children: Tanya and Gary.

Sandy held various jobs over the years. She worked with her husband Gary at Schnacker’s Country, worked for the Tri-County Hospital and Park Avenue Estates in Lexington, and spent a total of eight years working for Tenneco Monroe in Cozad. She especially loved being a waitress at Medos. Sandy was an incredibly considerate person. She made sure she knew everyone’s birthday so she could send out cards on their special day. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Sandy was a tough woman with a heart of gold.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Jody (LaMonte) Brummet and Tammy (Kevin) Glinsmann both of Johnson Lake, Nebraska, and Tanya (Jon) Foged of Kearney; grandchildren, Carly (Josh) Eacker, Jessica Glinsmann, Dustin (Elizabeth) Foged, Brittany (Daniel) Saathoff, Monte (Amy) Brummet, Tasha (Mike) Von Kaenel; great-grandchildren, Sophialynn Eacker, Joseph Eacker, Jeremiah Eacker, Adaleigh Foged, Cabrey Jo Foged, Brooklyn Foged , Brysen Saathoff, Huxten Saathoff, Blakelyn Saathoff, Brenna and Trip Brummet, Miles, Stella and Tyler Von Kaenel; a special niece, Ramona Neben, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Besides her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Schnacker; son, Gary Schnacker Jr; sisters, Phyllis Huber, Janice Gibbins, Doris Vogt, and Wanda Carbaugh; brothers, Don and Gerald Peden, and infant son, Milton Peden.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Rob Kuefner, officiating.

Interment will be held at the Cozad Cemetery in Cozad.

Sandra Sue Schnacker (1943-2023)

Kenneth Warren Daugherty, 72, passed away peacefully at his home in Cozad on June 12, 2023.

He was born on December 20, 1950 in Grand Island, NE to Ivan “Glen” and Vivian Iola Blevins Daugherty. &nbsp;Ken loved his family and the time spent with them was always an important part of his life. &nbsp;Ken attended school in Grand Island and Cozad.

Ken was interested in others and a friend to many. &nbsp;He was kind, hardworking, caring and compassionate. &nbsp;He was involved in Boy Scouts and Special Olympics as a youth and later in church and People First of Nebraska. Ken was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Lexington, Nebraska. When Ken was a young man, he accepted Jesus as his Lord.

Ken enjoyed going to Nebraskaland Day concerts, dining out, going to action movies, watching television (Survivor was a favorite!), going to Johnson Lake, boating, camping and baseball games. He also enjoyed Husker football.

Being employed was important to Ken. &nbsp;Places of employment included Nash Finch, Alltel, Monroe, Parker, and volunteering at the Gothenburg Senior Center and the Methodist Church in Gothenburg.

Ken liked things to be organized and orderly. &nbsp;His office was a center for one of his main passions, the weather. &nbsp;He was a true amateur weatherman, reading about the weather, listening to weather forecasts, and talking about the weather. &nbsp;He loved watching storms as they moved into his area. &nbsp;Ken Siemek was his favorite weatherman and meeting him was a special occasion for Ken.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ivan Glen Daugherty and mother Vivian Blevin Daugherty, brothers, Wayne Daugherty and Dale Daugherty.

Ken is survived by sisters, Cindy Clark of Gothenburg and Linda Behn of North Platte; nieces, Kristi Griffin, Tiffany Holbein, Elizabeth Bushey and Megan Daugherty; nephews, Nicholas Werner, Justin Werner, Cameron Werner, Adam Daugherty, and Philip Daugherty as well as many friends that loved him and will cherish his memories.

Kenneth Warren Daugherty (1950-2023)

Ronald Leo Tangeman, 83, of Callaway, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.

He was born on November 1, 1939, in Omaha, Nebraska to Noah and Agnes (Sopcich) Tangeman. He attended Ralston High School where he graduated with the class of 1957. In 1957, Ronald was united in marriage and to this union four children were born.&nbsp;

After graduation, Ron remained in Omaha where he worked for the Continental Can Company before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1958, where he proudly served his country for four years. In 1962, he returned to Omaha to work for Swift Company and in 1966, transferred to Grand Island.&nbsp;

 </figure>Ronald Leo Tangeman, 83, of Callaway, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.He was born on November 1, 1939, in Omaha, Nebraska to Noah and Agnes (Sopcich) Tangeman. He attended Ralston High School where he graduated with the class of 1957. In 1957, Ronald was united in marriage and to this union four children were born.&nbsp;After graduation, Ron remained in Omaha where he worked for the Continental Can Company before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1958, where he proudly served his country for four years. In 1962, he returned to Omaha to work for Swift Company and in 1966, transferred to Grand Island.&nbsp;On September 7, 1983, Ron met and married his wife of 40 years, Peggy Land. They moved from Grand Island to Phillips, Nebraska, where they made their home. They lived in Phillips before moving to Kansas City where Ron worked as a foreman with the Federal Aviation Administration.Ronald retired in 2000, moving to Callaway to be closer to family, but Ron and Peg’s wandering spirit didn’t allow them to stay in one place for too long. Their journey took them to Silver City, New Mexico, Mimbres, New Mexico, Las Palomas, New Mexico, before returning to Callaway for the summer months and spending their winters in Apache Junction, Arizona.Ron loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, and harvesting on his brothers-in-law’s farm.Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Peggy Tangeman of Callaway, Nebraska; children, Beth Marie (Carl) Pradelli of Boca Raton, Florida, Daniel Joseph Tangeman of Mexico, and Amy Jo (Mark) Scheer of London, England; sisters, Marilyn (Lowell) Thomas of Englewood, Colorado, and Agnes Haacke of Ralston, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Ted) Willis of Nebraska, Nancy (Don) Brass of Kearney, Nebraska, Sherri (Jerry) Pandorf of Callaway, Nebraska, Ginger (Derron) Meyer of Chadron, Nebraska and Kay Land of Broken Bow, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Dennis (Sue) Land of Callaway, Nebraska; grandchildren, Joseph Geller of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Jacob Sydney Geller of Boca Raton, Florida, Avery Jack Boswell of London, England, and Trey Noble Tangeman of Holly Springs, North Carolina, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Michael Tangeman; sister, Geraldine Koziol; brothers, Marvin, Arthur, and Lawrence Tangeman, his in-laws, Bud and Shirley Land, and brother-in-law, Steve Land.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Callaway, Nebraska.Private Graveside services with full military honors will be held at the Ft.
