&nbsp; Karrie Lynn Andersen Dolezal, age 56, of Grant, Nebraska passed to her eternal life on November 2, 2022 at her home with family by her side. Karrie was born in Tacoma, Washington on April 11, 1966. With her family, she moved to Montana where she was raised. She graduated from Broadwater High School in Townsend, Montana. Karrie was creative and incredibly talented. Music was a passion throughout her life. She started piano lessons as a little girl and had a beautiful voice which led to her touring Europe with her choir. She always loved baking and many would agree she was excellent at it. Karrie was a loving and dedicated mother and wife. She and her husband John found happiness together and married on December 10, 2010. They became a blended family with her own five children and John's two sons. Karrie worked hard to make all who came to her home feel loved and welcome. She worked several jobs over the years but enjoyed working as Deputy Treasurer for Perkins County. She always spoke about her work family with so much love. Karrie was loved and cherished by her family and her community, and she will be greatly missed. Donna Darlene Favinger Allen, age 90, of North Platte, passed away peacefully, and went to be with the Lord and Savior on November 4, 2022 at Centennial Park Retirement Village, surrounded by her family.

She was born on August 1, 1932 to Fred and Ethel (Betty) Favinger at their home south of Wallace.&nbsp; Donna was the youngest of six children, having two sisters, Irene and Gerry; and three brothers, Floyd, Lloyd, and Oran.&nbsp; Donna was the valedictorian of the class of 1949 at Wallace High School. Donna married Sam Kinsinger in 1951.&nbsp; They were blessed with four children: Sandy, Joyce, Roger and Sam.&nbsp; In 1969, she married George Allen of North Platte.&nbsp; They were happily married for 48 years until his passing on November 4, 2017.&nbsp; She had three step-children, Beverly Polanco, Gloria Brownell, and David Allen. Donna was a very loving, kind, caring, Christian person with a “Heart of Gold”.&nbsp; Her greatest passion in life was her family and she loved sharing her faith, and her love of God with them.&nbsp; Donna was always a care giver, starting at a very young age.&nbsp; Her sister Gerry gave her the nick-name “Cappy” saying she was like a captain of a ship, trying to take care of everyone, even though she was the youngest. She devoted her life to caring for others and all her loved ones.&nbsp; She taught her whole family how to be care-givers by her wonderful example.&nbsp; She was always there to help anyone in need, with her kind words and gentle touch.&nbsp; No one ever went hungry if you came to visit.&nbsp; She always wanted to feed everyone.&nbsp; Donna loved having big holiday dinners with the family, fixing all the wonderful food.&nbsp; She would make plates of food and take it to the neighbors too.&nbsp; She was always thinking of others and showing her love, a true care giver and a true Christian. Her greatest joy was having her grandbabies and great-grand babies on her lap, sometimes two at a time, singing to them or rocking them to sleep.&nbsp; She was sure a blessing to all of us.&nbsp; She will be missed more than words can say, by everyone who knew her and loved her dearly.&nbsp; God has a new very special angel in Heaven now.

Donna D Allen (1932-2022)

Dr. Steven Ray “Steve” Mosier, DVM, 79,
 Hays, entered Heaven on September 11, 2022, surrounded at the time of 
his passing by family and skilled, caring HaysMed staff.&nbsp; This date fell
 on National Pet Memorial Day.

Steve was born on December 14, 1942, in
 Hoxie, the 10th child of Decker and Lela (Mowry) Mosier, arriving five 
minutes before his twin brother, Stanley Jay.&nbsp; Henceforth and ever known
 as “the twins” by Lela, Decker, and his siblings, they were promptly 
placed in a shoe box to be kept warm in the farmstead oven.&nbsp; Their 
antics would become the stuff of legend throughout their childhood and 
adult years, from a fire lit playing with matches under the bed to 
pretending to be the other brother.

Steve went to Saint Paul school in 
rural Hoxie for six years and then into town for 7th and 8th grade.&nbsp; He 
graduated from Sheridan Community High School in 1960.&nbsp; He placed third 
in state wrestling his junior year and second his senior year, holding 
the flame of Hoxie’s notable wrestling history at a time when Hoxie 
competed with all of Kansas.&nbsp; This talent would serve him later in life,
 as his daughters Karen, Kristen, Karla and Kayleen unanimously recall 
being pinned simultaneously, each under an arm or leg and with no hope 
of escape, during spontaneous family floor wrestling.&nbsp; His 
grandchildren, Ethan, Decker, Isaac, Ben, and Hannah were also met with 
his famous full and half nelsons.&nbsp;

Steve went on to Kansas State 
University and, like four brothers before him, attended the School of 
Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1966.&nbsp; On June 5, 1965, he married 
Linda Louise Ward in Manhattan.&nbsp; Following graduation, Steve and Linda 
moved to Wichita to begin veterinary practice and then on to Aurora, 
Nebraska.&nbsp; From 1967-1969, Steve served in the US Army Veterinary Corps 
and was stationed in St. James, Minnesota.&nbsp; He was responsible for 
inspection of food going to overseas military and was a Survivor’s 
Assistance Officer, personally notifying 16 families regarding their 
fallen loved ones.&nbsp; He also assisted these families in planning funeral 
services.&nbsp; Following his military service there, Steve and Linda 
returned to Wichita in 1969, and then went on to join Hays Veterinary 
Hospital, hired by Dr. &nbsp;Paul McRae, DVM in 1970, choosing Hays because 
it was in-between Linda’s parents in Manhattan and Steve’s in Hoxie.&nbsp; 
Steve became full practice owner in 1995.&nbsp; His practice was purchased by
 Dr. Mark Meier in 2020.&nbsp; Steve thought that Dr. Meier, raised in Hays, 
was the perfect owner for the clinic.

Steve spent 50 of his 57 years in the 
practice of veterinary medicine in Hays.&nbsp; He felt very privileged to be a
 part of the human-animal bond. During his time as a practicing 
veterinarian, he was president of the Kansas Veterinary Medical 
Association in 1992 and received recognition as Kansas Veterinarian of 
the Year in 2000.&nbsp; In 2005, the Mosier family received the Alumni 
Recognition Award from the Kansas State University College of Veterinary
 Medicine.&nbsp; His favorite recognition was the Kansas Veterinary Medical 
Association Lifetime Achievement Award (2016) because it was presented 
to him by friend and colleague, Dr. John Nelson.

Steve’s daughters were all a part of 
his practice in some way while growing up, and his grandchildren 
continued this tradition.&nbsp; Whether riding along on a country call where 
Steve managed to grab a daughter and a diaper while enroute to pull a 
calf or waiting patiently at the grocery store or in the car while Steve
 visited with a client about their livestock or beloved pet, Steve made 
room for his family in his practice, and many memories surround 
experiences there.&nbsp; In the surgery suite, his daughters could be found 
observing the precision of a surgeon, and his ability to suture as 
though conducting a symphony.&nbsp;&nbsp; There were after hours cesarean 
sections, calf deliveries, x-rays and broken bones.&nbsp; The girls were 
happy to assist on night calls, as were his grandchildren.&nbsp; For 
twenty-five years, Kayleen served alongside Steve as his practice 
manager.&nbsp;&nbsp; He accomplished his service through the love and support of 
his wife, Linda, as well.

Steve enjoyed traveling with his 
family, with favorite destinations being to beaches and to the mountains
 of Estes Park.&nbsp; He also held very fond memories of a family trip to 
Scotland in 1999.

Survivors include his wife Linda of 
Hays, four daughters: Karen Nicholson and husband Blake, Kristen Hill 
and husband Christian, Karla DuBois and husband Justin, all of Estes 
Park, CO, and Kayleen Geist and husband Garrett of Hays, three brothers:
 Frank Mosier and wife Joan of Manhattan, Dr. Richard Mosier and wife 
Mary of Claremore, OK, and Dr. Larry Mosier of Sargent, NE, a sister: 
Louise Simcox of Salina, three sisters-in-law: Betty Mosier of 
Manhattan, Bunny Mosier of Cedar Rapids, NE, and Kathy Mosier of 
Wichita, five grandchildren: Blake “Decker”, Ben, and Hannah Nicholson, 
Ethan and Isaac Hill, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his 
parents, an infant son: Darren Ward Mosier, five brothers: Ben, Dr. 
Jacob, Dr. Ross, Dr. Don, and Dr. Stan Mosier, a sister: Lila Marie 
Fansher and husband Stan, a brother-in-law: Flavel Simcox, two 
sisters-in-law: Joann and Margaret Mosier, and a nephew: Craig Mosier.

Family Inurnment with military honors 
conducted by the Fort Riley Funeral Detail will be on Sunday, September 
18, 2022, in the Hoxie Cemetery followed by a gathering at the family 
farm, Sheephead Ranch.&nbsp; A community Celebration of Steve’s Life will be 
held at 5:00 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at the Hilton Garden Inn,

Dr. Steven Ray 'Steve' Mosier, DVM

Albert "Roger" Hebbert, 87, of Ogallala, formerly of Ashby, NE&nbsp; passed away on Thursday,&nbsp; November 2, 2022 at the Ogallala Community Hospital in Ogallala NE.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Albert Roger Hebbert was born on March 30th, 1935, in Alliance, Nebraska, to Albert and Ima (Shepard) Hebbert. He grew up, worked and attended grade school in the Sandhills, and earned his high school degree in 1952 from the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture at Curtis. He worked construction and farm jobs in the Wallace area for the next four years. In 1957, Roger enlisted in the Army and became a member of the 101st Airborne. He was classified as a “Rigger”. On one of their jumps, the light turned red and he was unsure if the jumpmaster said “no!”, or “go!”, but in his words, “it was too late, I was out the door”. In 1959, Roger was honorably discharged from Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and hitchhiked back to the Sandhills. Roger married Glenda Bertha Bennett on April 17th, 1960. To this union four children were born: Lisa, stillborn daughter Joyce, Steven, and Shawn. Roger worked for and eventually went into partnership with his father Albert, and together they operated Hebbert Well Drilling. After selling the business in 1976, Roger returned to his love of ranching.&nbsp; Glenda passed away in 1969, and twenty years later, Roger moved to Rist Canyon, Colorado, and married Bonnie Cope. During that time, he drove a delivery truck for Office Depot until his retirement. Bonnie passed in 2018, and Roger returned to Nebraska in 2019, living in Ogallala until he passed away on November 2nd, 2022, at Ogallala Community Hospital. Nothing was more important to Roger than his family and making sure they lived life, as he did, to the fullest. He kept his sense of humor no matter the circumstances, and ensured that his family followed his lead in maintaining a relationship with Christ. He loved a good horse, a strong cup of coffee (preferably boiled on the stove), and two fingers of whiskey over four cubes of ice. Roger was preceded in death by his wives Glenda and Bonnie, infant daughter Joyce, son Steve, parents Albert and Ima Hebbert, brothers Mose and Gene, and sister Pinky Clemens. Albert Roger Hebbert (1935-2022)

Viola Jean (DuBry) Boson, 72, of Gothenburg passed away at Good Samaritan St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island on Tuesday November 2, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born March 13, 1950 to Lyle and Irene (Dishman) DuBry. She had two older brothers, William and Steve.

She met the love of her life, Albert when she was 13 years old. On August 23, 1965 she and Albert were married in Cody, Wyoming. To this union,&nbsp; six children were born: Matthew, Luke, Mark, Tammie, Amy, and Nelson. The family lived in Wyoming, Montana, and finally settled in Nebraska. During their time in Wyoming, she enjoyed visiting Sinks Canyon; it was one of her favorite places. She loved living in the country and being outdoors. It didn't matter what she was doing outside, if she was with Albert and the kids, she was happy. Walks down by the river with her family was another favorite of hers. Viola also loved her furbabies. She had many over the years, but her most cherished was her chiweenie, Missy.

More than all of that, she loved Albert, he was the love of her life. She never hesitated to tease him any chance she had. They had an unbreakable bond, even with all the stress of everyday life, they were together for 57 years.

Viola is survived by her husband, Albert Boson of Gothenburg, NE; two sons, Mark (Becky) Boson and Nelson (Randi Hamm) Boson, all of Gothenburg, two daughters; Tammie (Mike) Henry of Cody, WY; Amy (Keith Jarmin) Einspahr of Kearney, NE, nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Lyle and Irene DuBry; infant sons, Matthew and Luke; brothers, William and Steve DuBry; in-laws Earl and Beatrice Boson; sisters-in-law, Judy DuBry, and Susan Avertt.

Services will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at 11:00 am with Greg Hilton officiating.

Viola Boson (1950-2022)

Deanna K. Milne, 83, of North Platte, NE passed away peacefully to her heavenly home on Friday, November 4, 2022, at Great Plains Health Hospital.

Dee, as she was better known, was born on February 6, 1939, in Beattie, KS the daughter of Ray and Alice L. (Harrison) McMahon.&nbsp; Dee grew up in Beattie, KS and graduated from Beattie High School, where she was homecoming queen. She worked as a dispatch operator for a trucking line for 17 years.&nbsp; Upon moving to North Platte, she worked at the J.C. Penny as a salesclerk for 10 years and cleaned homes in the area for several years.&nbsp; She was a contracted custodian for over 10 years with Osgood Elementary School and endeared herself with many of the school children over the years.&nbsp; She enjoyed renovating homes in North Platte and establishing them as rental properties.&nbsp; Dee married David Edward Milne in St. Francis, KS on June 6, 1975.&nbsp; She helped her husband Ed establish and run E. J.’s Outdoor Sports, hauling race parts to both Lexington and Lincoln County raceways for many years, as well as hauling golf carts to area tournaments.&nbsp; She and Ed ran the Lincoln County Raceway as well as the concession stands for 6 years.&nbsp; She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.&nbsp; Dee was a loving and devoted Mom and Grandma and loved her children and grandchildren more than anything in the world.&nbsp; Dee and Ed also took in several foster children over the years.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott David Milne; and by brothers, Francis, Patrick, Jack, Keith, and Donald McMahon; sisters, Caryl Ann McMahon, Faye Lampe, Raye Ellis, and Mary Craig. June M Sharp (1927-2022)

Ricca Sanford, 66, of Lewellen passed away late Sunday evening, October 30, 2022 at the Regional West Garden County Hospital in Oshkosh.

Ricca Miller Sanford, oh how she hated her name. Even worse if someone mispronounced it, “Ree-kah” instead of Rick-uh. Born to Twyla Matilda and Richard Harlan Patten on February 24, 1956, in Seward, NE, she was the first of four siblings. Her parents combined their first names to give her the one of a kind name, Ricca.&nbsp;&nbsp; Her middle name, Miller, paid homage to Twyla’s maiden name.&nbsp; It wasn’t long before she was joined by her siblings. First came sister, Wendy, then brothers Phil, and later Rich. Her early years often found Ricca at odds with her father. A rebellious spirit, strong sense of self, a dreamer’s heart, and mind full of passion and drive, she was a force to be reckoned with, if not a little ahead of her time. She met her husband, Steven Patrick Sanford, when she was in her senior year of high school, and they were married that same year on September 22, 1973.

The pair quickly had a family of their own: daughters, Heather, and Nicole.&nbsp; In spite of being young parents, Ricca and Steve worked hard, eventually owning and running a successful heating and air business in Loveland, Colorado. In addition to her mind for business, Ricca also organized and played on local softball and volleyball teams throughout most of her adult life, alongside her husband Steve, friends Sheryl Lake and Linda Arndt, and her daughter Heather.&nbsp; She made time to escape to Lake McConaughy at least a few times a year, and on more successful years she even made a few memories in Rome, Hawaii, and Mexico. She was always happiest when she was spending time with her dogs, playing in the water, tending to her outdoor flowers in the spring, summer, and fall, or sharing stories and laughter with her children, grandchildren, and eventually great grandchildren. As she lost her battle with cancer on October 30th, there were Hallmark Christmas movies playing in the background (one of her favorite parts of the holiday season).&nbsp;

Ricca is survived by her husband, Steven Sanford, sister Wendy Montgomery (with her daughters, Jenn and Mallory, son, Jake, and grandchildren Jackson and Jessa), brother, Phillip Patten (with his fiancé, Doreen Gutierrez, daughter, Halli, and grandson, JahVaun), brother Richard Patten (with his wife Vicki, son, Walker, and daughter, Madison), daughter Heather Reiss, daughter Nicole Bogaert along with her husband Quinton Bogaert.&nbsp; Her grandchildren Destinee Sanford, Dawson Sanford-Belden (along with his family, wife Karin, sons Jaxson and Lincoln, and daughter Reagan), Kyana Pfohl (with her family husband Derek, and sons, Ryan, Nathen, and Jameson) Daelynn Belden (with her Fiancé, Samuel Ortiz), Sean Isaac Armenta (with his son, Zaydrian), and Devin Belden survive Ricca as well.

Even worse if someone mispronounced it, “Ree-kah” instead of Rick-uh. Born to Twyla Matilda and Richard Harlan Patten on February 24, 1956, in Seward, NE, she was the first of four siblings. Her parents combined their first names to give her the one of a kind name, Ricca.&nbsp;&nbsp; Her middle name, Miller, paid homage to Twyla’s maiden name.&nbsp; It wasn’t long before she was joined by her siblings. First came sister, Wendy, then brothers Phil, and later Rich. Her early years often found Ricca at odds with her father. A rebellious spirit, strong sense of self, a dreamer’s heart, and mind full of passion and drive, she was a force to be reckoned with, if not a little ahead of her time. She met her husband, Steven Patrick Sanford, when she was in her senior year of high school, and they were married that same year on September 22, 1973.The pair quickly had a family of their own: daughters, Heather, and Nicole.&nbsp; In spite of being young parents, Ricca and Steve worked hard, eventually owning and running a successful heating and air business in Loveland, Colorado. In addition to her mind for business, Ricca also organized and played on local softball and volleyball teams throughout most of her adult life, alongside her husband Steve, friends Sheryl Lake and Linda Arndt, and her daughter Heather.&nbsp; She made time to escape to Lake McConaughy at least a few times a year, and on more successful years she even made a few memories in Rome, Hawaii, and Mexico. She was always happiest when she was spending time with her dogs, playing in the water, tending to her outdoor flowers in the spring, summer, and fall, or sharing stories and laughter with her children, grandchildren, and eventually great grandchildren. As she lost her battle with cancer on October 30th, there were Hallmark Christmas movies playing in the background (one of her favorite parts of the holiday season).&nbsp;Ricca is survived by her husband, Steven Sanford, sister Wendy Montgomery (with her daughters, Jenn and Mallory, son, Jake, and grandchildren Jackson and Jessa), brother, Phillip Patten (with his fiancé, Doreen Gutierrez, daughter, Halli, and grandson, JahVaun), brother Richard Patten (with his wife Vicki, son, Walker, and daughter, Madison), daughter Heather Reiss, daughter Nicole Bogaert along with her husband Quinton Bogaert.&nbsp; Her grandchildren Destinee Sanford, Dawson Sanford-Belden (along with his family, wife Karin, sons Jaxson and Lincoln, and daughter Reagan), Kyana Pfohl (with her family husband Derek, and sons, Ryan, Nathen, and Jameson) Daelynn Belden (with her Fiancé, Samuel Ortiz), Sean Isaac Armenta (with his son, Zaydrian), and Devin Belden survive Ricca as well.

Petronilo “Pete” Luna, 95, of North Platte, passed away November 2, 2022 at Linden Court, surrounded by family.&nbsp; He was born on December 13, 1926, to Florencio and Julia (Favala) Luna in Wichita Falls, TX.

Pete grew up in Texas and moved to the North Platte area while he was still a child.&nbsp; He helped his dad in the business of selling tamales.&nbsp; Pete enlisted in the United States Army in 1946 serving in World War II.&nbsp; He was stationed in Japan.&nbsp; Pete met Jennie in his early teen years and they were married at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on November 27, 1948.&nbsp; To this union five children were born: Erlinda, Stephen, Alfred, Gloria, and Phillip. Pete worked for Union Pacific Fruit Express for 47 years and also worked for the Department of Labor where he was instrumental in creating Migrant Health Services, which later became Farm Workers Association.&nbsp; He retired in 1987.&nbsp; Pete worked hard and loved his family very much.&nbsp; Pete was a 4th&nbsp;degree Knight of Columbus. He attended church regularly and prayed the rosary on a daily basis.&nbsp; Pete attended Mass as long as he was able and did a lot of spiritual reading.&nbsp; He loved to garden and he raised flowers, peaches, apricots, pears, apples, and vegetables.&nbsp; He was a well-respected man and he gave blessings to everyone around him.

Survivors include children, Erlinda (Jerry) Scovill of North Platte, Stephen (Angela) Luna and Alfred (Susan) Luna of Omaha, Gloria (Mike) Hernandez and Phillip (Marilyn) Luna of North Platte; grandchildren, Chris (Brenda), Nick (Serena), Joseph (Angelica), Monica (Brian), Becky (Justin), Tony (Bonnie), Jenny (Charles), Pete (Nicole), Andrea (Ryan), Matt, Nicole, and Danielle; 23 great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Dorothy Maxyne Blauvelt, age 95 of Thedford, NE passed away October 13, 2022, at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, NE.

Kurt E. Kline, 69, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022, with family at his side.

He was born on May 18, 1953, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Barton and Marian (Nisley) Kline. He attended rural school District #3 through 6th&nbsp;grade. He then attended school in Lexington. As a sophomore in high school, in 1969, through Dawson County 4-H, he was a part of the Nebraska State Champion Livestock Judging Team and competed in the International Exposition in Chicago. He graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1971. After graduation, Kurt decided to take a year to backpack throughout Europe. Then, back to Nebraska he went to complete an Ag Business degree at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. His first employment was as a loan officer at Production Credit in Kearney. From there he offered to take over the farming operation on the family farm east of Lexington. Kurt farmed for 37 years. When he retired, he continued to manage the farm. He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Lexington where he sometimes sang in the choir. Kurt served on the Central Platte Natural Resources District for several terms and was active in Farm Bureau, holding all offices including President. He spearheaded the Spring Creek Project to control flooding east of Lexington. He received the Ag Service Award from the Lexington Chamber of Commerce in 2014. Kurt enjoyed repurposing old farm equipment into metal sculptures. He had a vast collection of various sizes and colors of marbles.

Survivors include three brothers, Bart (Linda) Kline of Boise, Idaho, Scott (Diana) Kline of Sun City West, Arizona, and Todd (Ruth) Kline of Hastings Nebraska; two sisters, Christin (Rick) Roffers of Fremont, Nebraska, and Gretchen (Bob) Bricker of Colorado Springs, Colorado; ten nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews. Kurt was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Pastor Velma Tim, officiating. Rita worked at the former Stuckey's Pecan Shoppe in Roscoe for seven years and later for Banner Health as a home health aide for about 20 years. She was a long-time member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ogallala, and a charter member of the Women of the Moose Lodge, filling all offices in that fraternal organization. Rita enjoyed playing pitch with family and friends, reading, drinking coffee, and spending time with her family. &nbsp; Rita is survived by her loving husband Glen T. Wells of 65 years, sons; Glen Thomas Wells, Jr., James Christopher Wells, Lee Orin Wells,&nbsp; Kevin Paul (Tari) Wells, and Justin Robert Wells (Karen Bowlin). Rita Wells (1932-2022)

Jeffery&nbsp;Campbell, formerly of North Platte, passed away at his home in Oklahoma on October 16, 2022, at the age of 63.

Jeffery, the son of Lewis 'Chuck' and Barbara Campbell, was born in North Platte on January 12, 1959. The family later moved to Colorado where Jeff graduated from William Mitchell High School in Colorado Springs then Pikes Peak State College with his degree in criminal justice. Jeffery had great pride in America. He earned his God and Country award in Boy Scouts and later enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1980. He served five years active duty in Texas, Washington, Germany and Nebraska then joined the Air Force Reserves. He retired in 2007 with the rank of Master Sergeant. Jeffery was vetted by Homeland Security to work with the Federal Air Marshals in Nevada, Texas and Maryland. He transferred to the Department of Justice, Eastern District of the U.S. Marshals in Oklahoma in 2021 and was still working at the time of his passing. Jeffery will be remembered for his patriotism and loyalty.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chuck Campbell; and grandparents, George and Lois Wilson and Earl and Martha Campbell. Survivors include his mother, Barbara Campbell, and sister, Cyndy (Gary) Wood of Monument, CO; as well as many extended family members.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Odean Colonial Chapel. Inurnment will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery with military honors. Jeffery Campbell (1959-2022)

Dan J. Beckmann, 86, of North Platte, NE went to join his Savior with his family surrounding him on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

Dan was born on November 3, 1935 in Grand Island, NE the son of Fredrick and Rose (Ruff) Beckmann.&nbsp; On July 3, 1955 he married Lois Husman and took her on a long honeymoon since he was stationed at Fort Sill, Lawton, OK, where he served in the U.S. Army.&nbsp; He also served in the National Guard.&nbsp; Dan worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 43 years as a switchman/brakeman.&nbsp; Dan was very involved in his church where he served as an Elder, Trustee, and delivered tapes and bulletins while visiting the shut-ins.&nbsp; Dan never knew a stranger, and always had a smile.&nbsp; He believed that everyone was a friend we just haven’t met yet.&nbsp; Dan was always willing to help out and lead his family through example, by finding the positive in everything.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Rose; in-laws, Harry Husman and Ella Clinch; twin brother, Don; and infant brother, LeRoy. Those left to cherish Dan’s memory are his wife of 67 years, Lois; children, Ron and Kathy Beisner, John and Suzi Beckmann, and Karen Cole; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Beckmann, 86, of North Platte, NE went to join his Savior with his family surrounding him on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.Dan was born on November 3, 1935 in Grand Island, NE the son of Fredrick and Rose (Ruff) Beckmann.&nbsp; On July 3, 1955 he married Lois Husman and took her on a long honeymoon since he was stationed at Fort Sill, Lawton, OK, where he served in the U.S. Army.&nbsp; He also served in the National Guard.&nbsp; Dan worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 43 years as a switchman/brakeman.&nbsp; Dan was very involved in his church where he served as an Elder, Trustee, and delivered tapes and bulletins while visiting the shut-ins.&nbsp; Dan never knew a stranger, and always had a smile.&nbsp; He believed that everyone was a friend we just haven’t met yet.&nbsp; Dan was always willing to help out and lead his family through example, by finding the positive in everything.Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Rose; in-laws, Harry Husman and Ella Clinch; twin brother, Don; and infant brother, LeRoy. Those left to cherish Dan’s memory are his wife of 67 years, Lois; children, Ron and Kathy Beisner, John and Suzi Beckmann, and Karen Cole; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 with Pastor Daniel Ramsey officiating.&nbsp; Burial with military honors will follow at Fort McPherson National Veterans Cemetery near Maxwell, NE.&nbsp; Visitation will be held on Monday, November 7th&nbsp;from 1-7 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.&nbsp; Memorials are suggested in his memory to either For the Love of Paws, The Lutheran Hour, or Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

Gwendolyn E. Dickenson, 86, of North Platte, NE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Linden Court.

Gwen was the third child born to Blanche (Zalesky) and Clarence “Bud” Howitt on August 5, 1936.&nbsp; She spent her entire childhood in Chappell, NE, graduating with the class of 1954.&nbsp; After working a year, she then attended Kearney State Teacher’s College for 2 years.&nbsp; She taught 1st&nbsp;grade in Paxton, NE for the following 3 years. She was united in marriage on June 26, 1960, to Wayne V. Dickenson in the Methodist Church in Chappell, and two children were born: daughter Marcy and later a son, David.&nbsp; Gwen taught in the North Platte school system from 1960-62.&nbsp; While raising her children she was a boy scout and campfire leader and taught Sunday school.&nbsp; She then went back to school receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from Kearney College.&nbsp; She taught first grade in North Platte elementary school and remained until her retirement in 1996.&nbsp; She was nominated for Who’s Who of American Teachers and received a Lifetime PTA Membership.&nbsp; Since retirement Gwen enjoyed volunteer work at Great Plains Health, playing golf, fishing, sewing, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.&nbsp; She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in North Platte, and a charter member of the retired active teacher’s society.

Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wayne; daughter, Marcy Jenkins; brother Dave Howitt; sister Judie Harrington; and a grandson, Tucker Jenkins. &nbsp; Those left to cherish Gwen’s memory are her son, David Dickenson; granddaughter, Kaylee O’Connell and husband Michael O’Connell; son in law, Greg Jenkins; brother, Dr. Doyle Howitt of Kearney; special friends, Mike and Jane McCrone, Gaye Fudge, Kathy Reifschneider, Deb and Stan Mumm, and Robin Brown; as well as all her church family and friends at First United Methodist Church; and several nieces and nephews.

Roger Peters, 79, of Oshkosh passed away early Thursday morning, October 27, 2022 at the Regional West Garden County Hospital in Oshkosh. Roger Lynn Peters was born November 1, 1942, in Pawnee City, Nebraska to Orval “Jake” and Ruby (Rambat) Peters, farmers from Elk Creek, Nebraska and Bird City, Kansas.&nbsp; He graduated from high school in Elk Creek, Nebraska and then attended two semesters of special agricultural courses at the University of Nebraska. Roger served in the United States Army from September 1960 to December 1964.&nbsp; Following his service, he was employed by many different small farms, custom harvesters, and grain companies throughout Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas.&nbsp; He was a member of the Lutheran Church and was a strong Christian believer.&nbsp; In his later years, he settled on a property in Oshkosh, Nebraska and lived a peaceful life.

He is survived by his extended family and friends, Doug Cress, Royce Rambat, and Butch Harris.

&nbsp; Deanna Martha Van Cura, 75, of Ogallala, died October 31, 2022 at the Regional West Garden County Nursing Home in Oshkosh, NE.&nbsp;&nbsp; She was born on July 19, 1947 to Ralph and Martha (Witkowski) Casey, Sr. at Omaha, NE. She attended school in Omaha until 1954 when they moved to Ogallala and attended St. Luke's Catholic School, then graduated from Ogallala High School in 1965.&nbsp; &nbsp;On August 12, 1969&nbsp; she married Delmar&nbsp; Van Cura in Oshkosh, NE.&nbsp; Deanna and Delmar made their home in Ogallala, Nebraska.&nbsp; Deanna was Self Employed working as a house keeper for 20 years.&nbsp; Deanna then went to work for Super 8 as a supervisor.&nbsp; She retired in 2012. Deanna really enjoyed shopping with her family.&nbsp; In the summertime, she enjoyed camping with Delmar and traveling and going gambling and playing slot machines.&nbsp; Family was the most important thing to her and we love her so very much. She was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church of Ogallala. Deanna is survived by her husband, Delmar; two daughters, Leanne (Michael) Heble and Lori Ann (James) Watts; sister, Jayne Brown: Brother, Ralph G. Clyde Paul in 1961 in North Platte.&nbsp; She worked for over 20 years for the federal government as an IRS auditor, and was also a co-owner along with her father of the Greyhound Bus Depot.&nbsp; She was very generous and kindhearted and loved spending time with her family, friends, and beloved pet dogs.&nbsp; Judy will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Leonard Mackley, 96 of Arnold, Nebraska passed away on October 30, 2022 at Great Plains Health in North Platte, Nebraska. &nbsp;Leonard was born on October 21, 1926 in Hastings, NE. &nbsp;Leonard was the oldest son of James Christopher Mackley and Emma Margret Smith Mackley. &nbsp;He grew up on his parents' farm south of Arnold, Nebraska. &nbsp;As a child he attended Mackley Country School.&nbsp; He graduated from Arnold High School. &nbsp;Leonard served in the U.S military for two years.&nbsp; On August 6th 1952, he married Virginia Barrett at Merna, Nebraska.&nbsp; To that union were born nine children.&nbsp; Leonard farmed and ranched in Arnold his entire life. He raised purebred hogs and cattle. &nbsp;Leonard loved elk hunting in the mountains and fishing the reservoirs and lakes of Nebraska. &nbsp;He was always up for a good fishing story and sharing his master angler bass pictures. &nbsp;A perfect day for Leonard was taking family out to see his cattle and crops. &nbsp;Leonard made many friendships through his agriculture activities. &nbsp;He was a lifelong member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church in Arnold, Nebraska.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Virginia, brothers William, Joseph, Francis and infant sister Dorthy.

Leonard Mackley (1926-2022)

&nbsp; William Paul O’Brien was born April 14, 1951, in Goodland, Kansas, to Patrick J. and Dorothy J. (Harder) O’Brien. As a youngster he grew up North of Palisade, Nebraska, and moving with family to California, graduated from Artesia High School, Lakewood, California, in 1970. Bill, as he was known, was employed as a warehouse manager for the GemCo Company in Southern California. He then began his career in trucking, working for UPS, and Agland. Later, Bill was employed with the Ted Behlke Farms retiring in 2003. Bill married Sharon Pursley on July 15, 1995, in Benkelman, Nebraska, where the couple made their home. Bill was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Benkelman, and the Benkelman Country Club. Bill loved to golf, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially loved spending time with his friends and family. Bill passed away, Sunday afternoon, October 30, 2022, at his home in Benkelman. He was 71 years of age.  </figure>&nbsp; William Paul O’Brien was born April 14, 1951, in Goodland, Kansas, to Patrick J. and Dorothy J. (Harder) O’Brien. As a youngster he grew up North of Palisade, Nebraska, and moving with family to California, graduated from Artesia High School, Lakewood, California, in 1970. Bill, as he was known, was employed as a warehouse manager for the GemCo Company in Southern California. He then began his career in trucking, working for UPS, and Agland. Later, Bill was employed with the Ted Behlke Farms retiring in 2003. Bill married Sharon Pursley on July 15, 1995, in Benkelman, Nebraska, where the couple made their home. Bill was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Benkelman, and the Benkelman Country Club. Bill loved to golf, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially loved spending time with his friends and family. Bill passed away, Sunday afternoon, October 30, 2022, at his home in Benkelman. He was 71 years of age. Survivors Include: Children: Tracy Gruwell and husband, Donald, of Huntington Beach, CA; Kelly Contreras and husband, Torrey, Cerritos, CA. William P. O'Brien (1951-2022)

Burton Dale McPheeters, 94, of Gothenburg passed away on October 30,2022 at Gothenburg, Nebraska.&nbsp; He was born January 28, 1928, to Ira and Pearl (Grady) McPheeters, at their home southwest of Gothenburg, where Burton lived, farmed, and ranched nearly all his life.&nbsp; He attended Lone Star Rural Elementary and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1945.&nbsp; After several years of farming, he served in the US Army from 1951-1953.&nbsp; On August 31, 1952, he married Betty Rosina Kaufman at the First Presbyterian Church of Cozad.&nbsp; Betty was Burton’s beloved creative partner in all things farm, family, and faith.&nbsp; He left a legacy of how to honor marriage vows by the way he cared for his wife when her health failed.&nbsp; Their greatest joy was their five children: Marcy Ann, Kay Lynnette, Britt Ira, Scott Bradford, and Julie Rose. &nbsp; One had only to listen to Burton pray to hear his deep love for God, his family, and his country.&nbsp; He was a devoted lifetime member of Banner United Methodist Church where he served faithfully as trustee and on many boards.&nbsp; He especially enjoyed greeting guests as cashier at Lord’s Acre Day.&nbsp; He also served on the Camp Comeca Board of Directors and at its Buffalo BBQ for decades.&nbsp; In the community, he was a Lions Club member, and joined various agricultural organizations.&nbsp; He and Betty enjoyed US travel each August with their growing children, and later visited North America, Europe, the Holy Land, China, and Australia.&nbsp; They also had a lifestyle of hospitality, frequently and generously sharing their table and home with many, happily hosting both relatives and foreign learners. &nbsp; Burton began farming with his dad using 4-horse teams to work two rows, and he lived to see his family use 570 horsepower tractors and work 120-foot swaths.&nbsp; He loved taking the family to watch the cute baby calves in the spring, and on a drive to enjoy seeing the countryside and beautiful sunsets. &nbsp; He enjoyed the challenge of trying to do things well and efficiently, which probably made farm life more like a fulfilling hobby for him. Burton’s kind thoughtfulness and zest for life will be missed.&nbsp; Even into his 90s, he continued to call on those who might appreciate a visit, to faithfully attend whenever he was invited, especially family gatherings for Sunday dinner, birthdays, or holiday celebrations.

Burton is survived by his 5 children: 18 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, and many special nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. &nbsp; Gary Lee Erlewine, 71, passed away in the presence of family on October 14, 2022, at Presbyterian/St. Luke's Medical Center in Denver, Colorado, following a lengthy respiratory illness. Gary was born on May 5, 1951, in Ogallala, Nebraska, to Gale and Lucille Erlewine. He shared his childhood home on the family farm northeast of Grant, Nebraska, with his younger brothers, Tom and Ron. Gary attended Grant schools K-12, graduating high school in 1969. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska in 1973, where he was a pledged member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He continued on to Creighton University, Omaha, earning his Juris Doctor of Law degree in 1977. Gary's professional career included time as the city attorney in Columbus, Nebraska, followed by an independent law practice. Gary moved to Colorado in 2002 to be closer to family and worked as a TSA agent at Denver International Airport for 11 years ending in 2013. Gary made friends easily. He was kind of heart by nature and generous with his time to tend to the needs of others. Gary served as president of the Big Brother &amp; Big Sister Association of Greater Columbus (Nebraska) in 1983. He could routinely be found volunteering for charitable organizations on holidays in both Nebraska and Colorado. Gary had an innate aptitude for problem solving, finding much pleasure in completing crossword puzzles and other word games on a daily basis. He also filled his days as an avid reader of books and newspapers. Gary cheered on the Colorado Rockies and Nebraska Cornhuskers, win or lose. Gary's especially memorable travel destinations included East Asia in 1982 and Arizona for Rockies Spring Training in 2013. Gary will be greatly missed as a loving son, brother and friend. Gary is survived by his father, Gale, and two brothers, Tom (Donna) and Ron (Minako). Gary was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille. Gary Lee Erlewine (1951-2022)

Randy Werner Burbach, age 71, of Omaha, NE, passed away peacefully on October 29th, 2022. After a long fought battle with Frontotemporal Dementia, the Lord called him home.

He was born on April 11, 1951 in the middle of a blizzard in Yankton, SD to Reiny and Martha Burbach. He was the third of six children and known by his grandmother as her “M&amp;M boy” due to his frequent stops at her house after school for the candy. Randy’s early years were joyfully spent in Hartington, NE surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He often spoke of this fun, carefree time in his life. The family moved to North Platte in the early 1960’s.&nbsp; At that time, Randy joined one of the largest classes at McDaid elementary. Lifelong friendships were created here and during his tenure at North Platte Catholic Schools. Many shenanigans were had during his time at school but Randy proudly graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1969. Randy continued to be a supporter of North Platte Catholic Schools and was an enthusiastic Irish fan, frequently found at sporting events. Randy was the swiss army knife of men. Utilizing his Business degree from Kearney State College, Randy opened a tax accounting firm and was successful in that endeavor for many years. His primary occupation was as an Engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad where he created ever lasting friendships in that profession. Finding somehow more time to spare, Randy kept real estate around the city and had many other entrepreneurial quests. Randy’s greatest passion in life, though, was his family. He married Denise Prindle on November 28th 1981, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in North Platte. They were fortunate to have two beautiful, successful daughters - Kay and Ann. Randy taught them to shoot a gun, fish, hunt, tie shoes, respect others, save money, and put God first. They had many adventures in life and are so thankful to have been Randy’s family. His tenacity for life, patience for little but heart so open to all truly created a bedrock for a wonderful life. Randy was known for his ability to welcome anyone into his life and circle of friends as he was a stranger to no one. His early years were spent hunting and fishing with friends and family. As his family grew, he became their biggest supporter by coaching or cheering on the sides. He was competitive in his gardening and could be found trimming the perfect hedge, tending to the reddest tomato, and edging his well manicured lawn.

Randy retired from the railroad in 2011 but didn’t slow down. Instead he filled his time working on the family acreage by planting trees, clearing pastures of cedar trees, fixing fences, and working with his dirt moving toys. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed many golf trips with his wife and friends. Randy prioritized travel and his family gained countless friends and lifetime memories during those excursions. No Randy Burbach event was ever small or boring: he loved to be around friends and family. You could find him planning for a good time whether it be fishing, four-wheeling, concerts, cheering at Husker games, or just a good time at the Platte. Randy’s excitement was contagious! He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Spirit Church, Moose Lodge, Narve, Athletic Club, BLET where he served as treasurer for several years, UP Employees Club, and a member of a one-of-a-kind men’s golf group.&nbsp;

Randy is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Denise, of Omaha, NE; daughters Kay (Kelly) Burbach, of Lincoln, NE, Ann (Chad) Grunewaldt, of Vermillion, SD; granddaughters Emma Braswell and soon to be born baby girl Grunewaldt; grandsons Turner and Axton; his father Reiny Burbach; his siblings Bill (Sue) Burbach, Rosemary (Ron) Jones, Kevin (Denise) Burbach, Karlene (Dave) Hoedel; Brother-in-law Del Prindle (Phyllis), and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Randy joins his mother Martha, sister Barb and her husband Jim Waldschmidt; his mother-in-law Bessie and father-in-laws Jim and Walt. Randy was a devout Catholic and compassionately shared his belief with others. In keeping with his desires, any memorials should be directed to the North Platte Catholic Schools Endowment, to the family for donation to a frontotemporal dementia prevention organization, or a charity of your choosing in Randy’s name.

Visitation will be 9:00 - 3:00p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Family will receive visitors before the service. Catholic funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Sagar officiating.&nbsp; There will be a luncheon following in the Hall. Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00 we would also invite friends and family to a celebration of Randy’s life at the Lake Maloney Golf Course Clubhouse. Please join us to fondly remember all that Randy was: stubborn, smart, ornery, and the best dad and husband a girl could ask for.

He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Holy Spirit Church, Moose Lodge, Narve, Athletic Club, BLET where he served as treasurer for several years, UP Employees Club, and a member of a one-of-a-kind men’s golf group.&nbsp;Randy is survived by his loving wife of forty years, Denise, of Omaha, NE; daughters Kay (Kelly) Burbach, of Lincoln, NE, Ann (Chad) Grunewaldt, of Vermillion, SD; granddaughters Emma Braswell and soon to be born baby girl Grunewaldt; grandsons Turner and Axton; his father Reiny Burbach; his siblings Bill (Sue) Burbach, Rosemary (Ron) Jones, Kevin (Denise) Burbach, Karlene (Dave) Hoedel; Brother-in-law Del Prindle (Phyllis), and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Randy joins his mother Martha, sister Barb and her husband Jim Waldschmidt; his mother-in-law Bessie and father-in-laws Jim and Walt. Randy was a devout Catholic and compassionately shared his belief with others. In keeping with his desires, any memorials should be directed to the North Platte Catholic Schools Endowment, to the family for donation to a frontotemporal dementia prevention organization, or a charity of your choosing in Randy’s name.Visitation will be 9:00 - 3:00p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Family will receive visitors before the service. Catholic funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Sagar officiating.&nbsp; There will be a luncheon following in the Hall. Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00 we would also invite friends and family to a celebration of Randy’s life at the Lake Maloney Golf Course Clubhouse. Randal Werner Burbach (1951-2022)

Mark Richard Burk, 65, of North Platte, NE passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at Great Plains Health Hospital. Mark was born on February 23, 1957 to Donald and Margaret (Diener) Burk in North Platte. He graduated from Sutherland High School in 1976. He worked at Skelly as a truck mechanic for several years and was a truck driver while living in Colorado. On August 28, 1982 he married Diana Hupfer in North Platte at the 1st&nbsp;Christian Church, and together they had a son and a daughter. The couple then moved to North Platte, NE and Mark was hired on to Union Pacific Railroad as a switchman/brakeman ending his career as a conductor, retiring in July 2022. Mark will be remembered as a jokester and loved seeing people laugh.&nbsp; His family, especially his children and grandchildren were the center of his life.&nbsp; He was very mechanical, having the ability to fix anything.&nbsp; He also enjoyed going to the races, especially the sprint cars in Knoxville, IA.

Those left to cherish Mark’s memory are his wife, Diana; daughter, Chelsea Burk of Lincoln; son, Josh Rico of North Platte; three grandchildren, Kaidin, Baylie, and Zachary; siblings, Monica Burk of Ft. Collins, CO, Mike Burk of North Platte, Mary Jo Burk of Ft. Collins, CO, Maurice “Nino” Burk of Ft. Collins, CO, and Chris Burk of Lincoln; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Chad Burk and brother Marty Burk.

Mark Richard Burk (1957-2022)

Dr. Tony R. Pitkin, 88, Professor, Emeritus, of Gordon College in Wenham, Massachusetts, 88, of Callaway, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney surrounded by his loving family.

He was born June 23, 1934 in rural Callaway, Nebraska to Cleveland Ashley and Mattie May (Price) Pitkin. Tony received his education from Callaway Public Schools and graduated from Callaway High School with the class of 1952. In high school, Tony excelled in sports where he was all conference in football and basketball. He also went to state in track and played on three different baseball teams in the summer: Callaway Legion, Callaway Town and Broken Bow Legion. Tony received a basketball scholarship to Milford Trade School. While attending Milford, Tony graduated in 1954 as a Diesel Mechanic. Tony was inducted into the United States Army on January 7, 1955. He spent almost two years in the Army and served in Germany as a tank mechanic. While in Germany, Tony played basketball and volleyball, traveling around Germany playing against different troops. He proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged on December 5, 1956. While he was in the Army, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at a stop along a travel route and he lived all the days of his life grounded in that faith. Tony was united in marriage to Beverly Krueger on August 30, 1959 in Chaffee, ND, while both were students at Westmar College. He graduated in 1962 with his Bachelor’s degree in Social Science. He then earned his Master’s degree from the University of South Dakota in 1966 in Physical Education followed with his Doctorate in 1968. Five children were blessed to this union: Michael, Gregg, Holly, Mark and Ashley. At Riverton, Iowa, he taught High School Social Studies and coached boys and girls basketball for a year. He was then the Principal of Riverton/Farragut schools for two years. Tony worked Regional Experimental Mathematics Project in Sioux City, Iowa for two years, where his Doctoral Dissertation came out of this project. In the fall of 1971, he started at Gordon College as the Education Professor, working there for 26 years, retiring in 1997 to pursue a life long dream of cattle farming back in his hometown of Callaway, Nebraska. Tony and Beverly moved to Callaway in 1997, where Tony stayed active in the community. He served on the Callaway Board of Education for 8 years. A member of the Callaway Community Church serving as the treasurer and elder. He was a proud member of the American Legion Bryson-Booker Post 59 and Gideons member. Tony had a passion for sports, especially Huskers &amp; Callaway football and volleyball. He had a passion for service through Callaway Community Church, American Legion, and Gideons. He loved Dr Pepper, homemade ice cream, pecan pie, Gunsmoke, Buelingo cows, belting out hymns anytime, studying and teaching the Bible, driving the country and sharing stories, lawn care, back scratches, shootin' the breeze, and a good nap. He loved his wife Beverly and his family deeply and was a wonderful grandpa to each and every one of his 11 grandchildren.&nbsp;

Survivors include his wife, Beverly of Callaway; his children, Mike (Becky) Pitkin of Bismarck, North Dakota, Gregg (Lori) Pitkin of Lewisville, Texas, Holly (Glen) Schuhmacher of Nokesville, Virginia, Mark (Elisa) Pitkin of Hamilton, Massachusetts, and Ashley (Dean) Howard of Agawam, Massachusetts; eleven grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Margaret Pitkin and his siblings, Ira (Georgia) Pitkin, Charles (Mildred) Pitkin, Thelma (Bill) G’Schwind, Freda (Aaron) Lindstedt and Margie (Dean) Headley.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Callaway Community Church in Callaway with Pastor Dean Haidle, officiating.
