Vicki J. Dyer Boldt, daughter of Dale and Betty (James) Dyer was born in Alliance, Nebraska on January 3, 1950.&nbsp; She passed from this life on October 19, 2022.

She was baptized, confirmed and a member of Calvary Episcopal Church.&nbsp; Vicki grew up on her parents’ ranch south of Whitman, NE; graduate Hyannis High School in 1968; attended Hastings College; CE School of Commerce and the University of Nebraska Omaha.&nbsp; Her love of flying lead her to her first job as a United Airlines flight attendant based in Chicago.&nbsp; In 1971 she was united in marriage to Gary Boldt.&nbsp; They lived and worked in Omaha until retiring to Hyannis, NE.&nbsp; Vicki spent the majority of her working career at Creighton Memorial Saint Joseph Hospital in Omaha.&nbsp;

Upon returning home in retirement to the Sandhills of Nebraska, Vicki learned to golf, loved camping, gardening, and traveling.&nbsp; The Gulf Coast was her favorite winter destination.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Betty (James) Dyer; sister, Cynthia Dyer Burgess; grandparents, George and Freda (Morris) Dyer; Hank and Jessie (Neumeyer) Applegarth; aunt, Joanne Froshiesar.&nbsp; She is survived by her husband, Gary; brother Doug Dyer (Penney); nieces Joslyn and Erin Dyer; stepchildren, Gary Boldt, Jr., and Debra Wagner (Deon); Step-grandsons Kevin Boldt (Elizabeth), Brook Wagner (Courtney); step-great granddaughter Logan Sky Boldt; aunt Teresa Haney (Harold), along with other relatives and friends.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Michael E. Rundback was born on April 15, 1967, in Sutherland, Nebraska, to Morton and Charlotte (Wilson) Rundback.&nbsp; He attended school in Palisade, Nebraska and graduated from Palisade Public School with the class of 1985.&nbsp; Michael continued his education at Northwest Area Technical School in Goodland, Kansas where he studied autobody.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Mike took his education and put it to work; he excelled as an auto body technician.&nbsp; He worked for several years at Steve’s Auto Body in Ogallala, Nebraska and at Todd’s in Wauneta, Nebraska.&nbsp; He also took great pride in restoring the many classic cars while working with the team at Harchelroad’s in Imperial, Nebraska. &nbsp; &nbsp; Mike enjoyed stargazing which led to a hobby of taking pictures of the night sky as well as sunsets.&nbsp; He loved farm life and his many pets.&nbsp; From a young age, Michael always loved tinkering; given enough free time, he could fix just about anything.&nbsp; He always had many painting and repair projects that he was working on at any given time.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Michael passed away Friday morning, October 21, 2022 at his home in Rural Palisade.&nbsp; He was 55 years of age.

Michael Rundback (1967-2022)

Heidi Jeannine Trosper age 62, passed away at the Community Hospital in McCook on Monday, October&nbsp;17, 2022.&nbsp;She was born in Merrick Long Island, NY on March 26, 1960, to Earnest and Raenelle (Snedicker) Bornkessel. She attended and graduated high school in Merrick Long Island, New York.&nbsp;

She met Gregory Trosper in Arizona and later married on August 14, 1993, at the Congregational Church in McCook. Although they continued to travel, primarily resides in McCook. They raised two children, Britta and Kaden who then each had a grandchild, Chase and Tyson.

Heidi was a kind and lively person who loved to rescue stray animals, shop, travel and ride motorcycles. She and Greg traveled all over the United States on their Harley including Sturgis and the Old West Balloon Festival which were a couple of her favorite destinations.

She loved her family and friends whom she kept in touch with regularly and her pets (two of which were rescues, of course!)&nbsp;

In keeping with&nbsp;Heidi’s wishes, the family chose cremation. &nbsp;A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date to commemorate Heidi’s preference to parties over funerals.&nbsp;

Dale E. Hill, 76, of North Platte, NE passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at NE Medicine Medical Center in Omaha. Dale was born on October 28, 1945 in Broken Bow, NE the son of Donald Francis Hill and Frances Louise (McEwen) Hill. Dale grew up on his parents’ farm. His family attended the Methodist church. He attended country school and later graduated from Broken Bow High in 1964. He worked at Ruff Motor and Cooksley Ford. Later he became a partner at Farritor Auto Parts. He married Joanne Bradshaw in 1970. They adopted two little boys who were brothers. They later divorced. He married DeDe Ash Belders May 15, 1982 in an outdoor ceremony at her parents’ country home. Their honeymoon never ended. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as watching football, even the Huskers. From an early age, Dale enjoyed cars and auto racing. He collected antique glassware, pottery and classic tractors. He enjoyed going to auctions. He was a farmer, a pilot, and a businessman. His greatest hunting trip was to NX Bar Ranch in Sheridan, Wyoming. He shot a very large elk there which is on display at his office. He spent many years hunting and fishing with grandson Cody, lifelong friend Jim Adams and his son, Jessie. Dale was lucky enough to go fishing in Alaska three times, to Sitka, Ketchican and Elfin Cove. He especially enjoyed fishing with his son Ken, brother Dean, and nephews Mike and Tyler. He and DeDe went to Scotland in 2017 and walked where his ancestors lived. He owned ABC Auto Salvage for 35 years and was still actively working. He was an extremely kind and generous man, known to many as “Uncle Dale.” He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Dale was proceeded in death by his parents, a twin brother, Dean, and sister-in-law, Val Teahon.

Dale E. Hill (1945-2022)

Gerald “Gary” Nichelson, age 68, our beloved husband, father, son, brother, cousin, and friend died on October 19, 2022. The second child of Donald and Bessie Nichelson, he was born on October 2, 1954.&nbsp; He attended North Platte Public Schools and was a member of the Class of 1973.&nbsp;

Gary worked as a newspaper delivery boy at a very young age, after that, a dishwasher&nbsp;at Trailways Bus Station and Tomahawk Truck Stop. (There are many good stories about those days). He then went on to work at Central Nebraska Packing Company with his dad for a short time.&nbsp; At age&nbsp;20, he started work with the Union Pacific Railroad, retiring after 40 years of service at age 60. He was proud of his railroad career and was local chairman of the International Brotherhood of Fireman and Oilers for many years. During his railroad years, he was furloughed off and on, and did other jobs during those times to make ends meet. He worked for Nebraska Public Power District&nbsp;during some shutdowns, the City of North Platte Parks Department, and even part time at a liquor store.

Gary met DiAnn Pecenka on the street by her house on Vine Street in the summer of 1971. She was walking the&nbsp;family dog and Gary spoke&nbsp;to her. She never told him where she lived, but he drove around the next day looking for her. She just happened to be outside that&nbsp;home on Vine Street, so he visited some more. They were married at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in North Platte in 1974. They shared many years of being together with friends and family.

Gary enjoyed Halloween parties, family dinners, ski trips, and convention trips for the Union. He loved his mother's cooking, especially prime rib. He loved to fish, hunt, and camp. His parents were the camp hosts at Lake Maloney for several years, so along with his&nbsp;older sister, Linda, and younger&nbsp;brother, Mark, they had many&nbsp;fun times around the water, a&nbsp;campfire, or playing cards in the camper. He loved the Huskers, both Football and Volleyball. Gary also kept track of all the college and NFL games on a weekly basis. His favorite NFL teams were the Raider's, the Titan's, and whomever Tom Brady played for. Gary loved tailgating in Lincoln or at home for Husker games, always making "husker dip" for every home game! Gary also enjoyed car racing, Tony Stewart and team being a favorite. He loved watching car races on TV and at the Lincoln County Raceway, Beatrice Raceway, I-80 Raceway, and especially going to the finals in Boone, Iowa. He always looked forward to Czech Days in Wilber, Nebraska and July 4th was always a huge celebration as well.&nbsp;

He loved caring for the environment, picking up trash in Cody Park on his walks, recycling any way&nbsp;he could, and doing miles of trash walks for Keep North Platte and Lincoln&nbsp;County Beautiful. He just recently received&nbsp;an award for being one of the best people in the state to&nbsp;beautify, reuse, and clean up the&nbsp;environment. &nbsp; He also loved cats, including a homeless cat that has been coming around for 6 months, who by the way, does not like DiAnn.....yet.&nbsp; He may have to if he wants to eat!

Gary was a convert to the Catholic Faith in 1974 and a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in North Platte. Gary truly knew what God can and cannot do. He always said that God knows what He is doing, and that we do not know God's plans. He knew God will always take care of us. He did many events at St. Patrick's Church, just last Sunday helping do dishes for the monthly brunch.

Among Gary's best achievements, and probably the one he was most proud of was having a son in 1987. The best thing to ever happen to him, being a parent to a good son and one who would take him so many places over the course of a lifetime, and especially after retiring! Little did Gary know that Ian had plans for him. In school, Ian kept his parents busy with academics, homework, football, soccer, snake hunting, and many events and travels with Boy Scout Troop 292. &nbsp;Then, in recent years, in the ways of cooking, smoking for BBQ'S, entering BBQ contests, caterings, chopping wood, making breakfast burritos, going over countless lists of CDs and making lists of music, going to concerts, more camping, late nights visiting out on their deck with family and friends, cooking for St. Pat's Football team, St. Pat's Church functions, gun club, American Legion and his whole family.&nbsp; He had a son who all of a sudden kept him way busier than his job at the railroad. They&nbsp;also watched several football games and sat by many late-night fires. The love for his son was so passionate. That all came to an end just two years ago when Ian suddenly passed away. These last two years had been very hard to navigate, and when Gary found out he had cancer, it was not easy to accept. But he did, and he tried the best he could to go on. He knew that he needed to do what God wanted him to do. Gary was most proud of Ian and his accomplishments.

Gary was a kind and loving husband, a good son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many. He always did what he thought was the right thing. Gary was always a great listener, and so understanding. Gary was supportive of whatever his son and wife tried to do in their lives, always letting them make the decision of what to do but letting them know if it did not work out, that was ok too. One thing Gary did not like to&nbsp;do was lose "Sequence", a game so loved by all the family that a tournament is held every Thanksgiving. He had a wonderful sense of humor, but you knew when he lost in "Sequence".

Gary participated in many organizations, including the local 403 Functions, many German- American Club events, the Eagles Club, and the Lincoln County Democrats, the Union Pacific Club and RSVP.

Gary also loved listening to 98.5, The Hawk, and requesting songs on the LunchBox Hour with Tanner Struckman and Nathan Epley. He was looking forward to possibly being the 2000th person to request a song.

Gary also had a Railroad coffee club, made up of retired railroaders who got together for breakfast every other Wednesday. (There are some good stories there too). &nbsp;He also got together on Thursday afternoons with cousins and brother, Mark. (More good stories).

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and his only son, Ian Miles.

Those left to cherish this wonderful life are his wife, DiAnn; his sister, Linda, of North Platte, NE; his brother, Mark (Sharon), of North Platte, NE and their son, Billy (Ashley), of Omaha, NE; sister-in-law, JoJo (Cory) Jensen and their children, Rebecka (Cole) Mossman, of Cocoa, Florida, James Jensen, of North Platte, NE, and Matthew (Shanna) Jensen, of Wayne, NE; brothers-in-law, Michael (Cindy) Pecenka and their children, Adam (Angelese) and Aaron, all of Hendersonville, TN, Francis (Dawn) Pecenka and their children, Shelby, AJ (Cidney) Freeze and Stephanie House, all of Lincoln, NE; best friend, Greg McGinn, of North Platte, NE; numerous other cousins and relatives; and special cousin, Randy Nichelson, who did so much these last few months with Gary.&nbsp;

Gary would be thanking each and every person who crossed his path in this life. He loved you all. He embraced life as we all should. His life was full, busy and rewarding.

We know he is enjoying the rewards of Heaven and is so glad to be reunited with his son, parents, grandparents and so many others.

Betty&nbsp;Snyder passed away at Linden Court in North Platte, Nebraska, on October 20, 2022, at the age of 90.

Betty, the daughter of Rollie and Helen Jones, was born July 17, 1932, at Maywood, Nebraska. The family lived in Maywood then moved to North Platte, Nebraska while Betty was still in school.

On July 17, 1950, Betty was united in marriage to Loren Snyder. They made their home in North Platte where they raised their family. When the kids were older, Betty went to work as a janitor at the Lincoln County Courthouse.&nbsp; She worked for over 20 years until retiring.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Loren; her parents, Rollie and Helen Jones; sisters, Ilene Boltz and Norma Knobel; brother, Kenny Jones; and grandson, Patrick Pinkerton.

Survivors include her children, Don Snyder of North Platte, Nebraska, Karen and husband, Bob Koch, of Hershey, Nebraska, Ronda Froseth and friend, Larry Meyer, of Evanston, Wyoming, and Patricia Pinkerton of Garland, Texas; her brothers, Robert Jones of Mason City, Iowa, and Larry Jones of Beatrice, Nebraska; as well as 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 5 great great-grandchildren, and other family.

Betty Snyder  (1932-2020)

James Ray Sheets, born September 30, 1922,&nbsp;returned to the loving arms of Jesus on October 18, 2022.&nbsp;&nbsp;James was family, a mentor, a confidant and a friend. In James' own written words: The sun and insatiable earth conspire to pull a disappearing act on all the water I pour on my plants. Of course, I am the slave in the whole process. Anything to prolong the look of summer. I get the sense I was born with a garden hose in my hand and sentenced to a life of watering forever. I look around at the incredible beauty of all the flowers, and I know it is worth the effort to be a co-worker in this ever changing feast of color. I can't paint pictures, but I can use plants to create a living work of art. As the years flash by with many fading dreams, I still have this gift and I am grateful. Some colors have faded from my palette. The Asiatic and oriental lilies have come and gone along with the piercing-red oriental poppies. The red and plum-colored hibiscus now join the mix of lavender Russian sage, bright yellow and orange dwarf cosmos, mixed-colored garden phlox, baby's breath, and a whole multitude of flowers vying for a place on the palette. The roses are hanging in, seemingly determined not to lose their preeminence in the theme of the show. Even the new ones: Judy Garland, Bull's Eye, and Perfume Delight are gearing up to make a last minute statement to bolster the place of roses as queens of all flowers. Waiting in the wings for their cue are the fall asters: white, blue, pink, wine and purple. Joining in the last hurrah of summer's art show are purple and yellow mums. James Ray Sheets  (1933 - 2022)

Paul Edward Jochum of Sutherland, Nebraska peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on October 20, 2022 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.&nbsp; He was 64 years old.

Paul was born to Lawrence 'Bud' and Arlene (Klein) Jochum in Sutherland, Nebraska on August 25, 1958.&nbsp; He was raised on the family farm south of Sutherland.&nbsp; He graduated from Hershey High School in 1976 and then attended Mid-Plains Community College.

Paul was working as a carpenter, building houses for Larry Trsty, when he met the love of his life, Dixie Miller.&nbsp; They married on March 1, 1980 and lived in Sutherland where they raised their two daughters, Candy and Dawn.

In November 1980, Paul joined the Nebraska Public Power District where he worked at Gerald Gentleman Station for 39 1/2 years until retiring in August 2020.

Paul was an active member of the Sutherland Volunteer Fire &amp; Rescue Squad for 30 years, then became an honorary member.&nbsp; He was an EMT, Firefighter, and CPR Instructor.&nbsp; He also held offices as a Rescue Lieutenant and Rescue Captain/Chief throughout his years of service.

In his free time, Paul enjoyed camping, water skiing, snow skiing, fishing and hunting with his daughter and brother, as well as officiating football and basketball games with his brothers and friends for many years.&nbsp; He always looked forward to traveling with his family, especially to his favorite spot in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Paul loved his family and was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather.&nbsp; His greatest pride and joy was spending time with his four grandchildren, there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for them.&nbsp; If you really knew Paul, you'd know he liked giving people nicknames.&nbsp; Paul leaves us much too soon, but will always be loved and remembered by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud &amp; Arlene Jochum; and his brother, Randy Jochum.

Terry Martyszenko, age 55, of Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022, at his home. Terry was born March 18, 1967, at Lynwood, California, to John and Rosemarie (Stewart) Martyszenko. Terry grew up and attended school in southern California. In 1987, Terry married Vivian Leetch, and their union was blessed with two children, Kyle and Jessica. Terry and his family resided in California before moving to Nebraska in 1988. Following the end of his first marriage, Terry married Angel VanCura, and by that union, gained four children, Nick, Jordin, Chelsi, and Shauna. Additionally, their union was blessed with two children, Kiejjon and Jazzilyn. Terry worked for Chief Transfer and Storage before taking a job at Andersen Sign, where he worked for several years before striking out on his own, doing handyman work. In what would be the later season of his life, Terry found a deep connection with Brianna "Breezy" Horr, and the two were together for several years. Terry was outgoing and loved to make people laugh. He tended to be a jokester and had a relatable quality that made him very personable. He was a man of many projects and was generous with his time and efforts when people needed help. Terry had a great passion for baseball and played ball throughout his life. Terry loved to share his love of baseball with his kids, often teaching them the game's intricacies. Terry enjoyed playing pool, throwing darts, and golfing. Terry had also been an avid coin collector since he was a boy. He never minded asking people if he could sift through their spare change in the hopes of finding his next great treasure. Though the most precious treasure he found was the bond that he shared with his children. Everett also served as the Director of the Seward City Band, Assistant Director of the North Platte Municipal Band, Assistant and Guest Symphony Director of the Sandhills Symphony, and Director of the Shriner’s Maverick Band. He was a long-time member of NMEA, NSBA, and Tehama Shrine Club. Everett enjoyed collecting and restoring cars. Austin Dean Rahmig, 17 of Gering, Nebraska passed away Monday, October 17, 2022 at his home.

Austin was born September 15, 2005 to Chad Rahmig and Tracy (Chrisman) Rahmig in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He received his early education at Lincoln Elementary School in Gering and was currently a junior at Gering High School.

Austin was a member of the Western Nebraska Shooting Sports, 4-H, NRA and Gering FFA serving as Vice President. His shooting career was very impressive. Austin was an accomplished target rifle shooter traveling extensively to compete in a sport he loved using multiple guns and division such as 22 rifle, sporter rifle, precision air rifle, and BB gun. In the Nebraska Panhandle Rifle League using a 22 rifle he won every week. In the Dakota League he placed in the top five shooting list over 50 % of the time. He competed in the South Dakota State Championship where he finished 3rd while competing in the adult division of the 22-rifle competition. In the Nebraska State High School Silhouette Shoot he was part of a team that won the state championship for the last four years and was the high boy each of those four years.

In the Panhandle Best BB gun he won more than 50% of each week. When competing in both the Panhandle Best Precision Air Rifle and Sporter Rifle competitions Austin won more than 50% weekly and won at least 3 years of the yearly competition. He competed twice at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado and once at Camp Perry, Ohio where he placed 55th in the Winter Air Games with shooters from all over the United States.

Austin competed recently in the American Legion Sporter Air Rifle competitions winning the Nebraska State Championship, the Regional Champion, and placed 3rd at the national competition held in Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center. At that national competition Austin earned 3 medals, including 2 bronze and the gold medal given as the best kneeling shooter in the United States for shooters 18 and under. Competitive shooting with Grandpa Chrisman was most important, as Grandpa was his coach and mentor. He was a hell-of-a shooter, a real natural talent.

He loved and enjoyed spending time with friends, working on his pickup, driving around, flying with his dad and welding. He had an incredible sense of humor, was quick witted and soft spoken and always willing to help others.

He is survived by his mother Tracy Rahmig, father Chad (Dianna) Rahmig, brother Rustin Rahmig, sister Tegan (Logan) Woodward, grandparents Mike and Janice Chrisman and Dick and Sharon Rahmig, Great Grandmothers Faye Chrisman and Marvel Moore, Aunt Stephanie (Marvin) Lockman with children Marissa, Cory (Pasiensia), Uncle Robert (Amber) Rahmig with children Kassadie (fiancé Michael Schuler) Chance, Lillianna and Tarrin. Along with numerous cousins and extended family and friends, and special friend Kali Hopkins.

He received his early education at Lincoln Elementary School in Gering and was currently a junior at Gering High School.Austin was a member of the Western Nebraska Shooting Sports, 4-H, NRA and Gering FFA serving as Vice President. His shooting career was very impressive. Austin was an accomplished target rifle shooter traveling extensively to compete in a sport he loved using multiple guns and division such as 22 rifle, sporter rifle, precision air rifle, and BB gun. In the Nebraska Panhandle Rifle League using a 22 rifle he won every week. In the Dakota League he placed in the top five shooting list over 50 % of the time. He competed in the South Dakota State Championship where he finished 3rd while competing in the adult division of the 22-rifle competition. In the Nebraska State High School Silhouette Shoot he was part of a team that won the state championship for the last four years and was the high boy each of those four years.In the Panhandle Best BB gun he won more than 50% of each week. When competing in both the Panhandle Best Precision Air Rifle and Sporter Rifle competitions Austin won more than 50% weekly and won at least 3 years of the yearly competition. He competed twice at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado and once at Camp Perry, Ohio where he placed 55th in the Winter Air Games with shooters from all over the United States.Austin competed recently in the American Legion Sporter Air Rifle competitions winning the Nebraska State Championship, the Regional Champion, and placed 3rd at the national competition held in Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center. At that national competition Austin earned 3 medals, including 2 bronze and the gold medal given as the best kneeling shooter in the United States for shooters 18 and under. Competitive shooting with Grandpa Chrisman was most important, as Grandpa was his coach and mentor. He was a hell-of-a shooter, a real natural talent.He loved and enjoyed spending time with friends, working on his pickup, driving around, flying with his dad and welding. He had an incredible sense of humor, was quick witted and soft spoken and always willing to help others.He is survived by his mother Tracy Rahmig, father Chad (Dianna) Rahmig, brother Rustin Rahmig, sister Tegan (Logan) Woodward, grandparents Mike and Janice Chrisman and Dick and Sharon Rahmig, Great Grandmothers Faye Chrisman and Marvel Moore, Aunt Stephanie (Marvin) Lockman with children Marissa, Cory (Pasiensia), Uncle Robert (Amber) Rahmig with children Kassadie (fiancé Michael Schuler) Chance, Lillianna and Tarrin. There were horses waiting in heaven for Karrie Ann (Parsons) Bischoff, 49, of Cozad, Nebraska who passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha while watching the Huskers with her husband Chad.

She was born on March 1, 1973 in Kearney, Nebraska to Gene and Shirley (Brooks) Parsons. Karrie received her education from Cozad Public Schools and graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1991. Following high school, Karrie graduated from LCCC in Cheyenne, Wyoming with an Associate Degree in Equine Management and went on to become a licensed Equine Appraiser. Karrie was currently employed at the Cozad Housing Authority as an Occupancy Specialist. Karrie grew up loving animals. She was a very active 4H leader who loved her 4H kids, parents and horses. She actively supported the Eustis FFA program and was very proud that both of her sons participated in it. Karrie will be missed beyond belief. She was a one-of-a-kind; wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, grandchild, friend, and mentor. When we begin to come to terms with our loss, we’ll embrace our precious memories and find peace in knowing Karrie is watching over us as long as we carry her on in our hearts.

Brandon Glen Morse was born August 13, 1990, in Vietnam. His given name was Dam Van Thiet. His birth parents passed away when Brandon was four. Then the children of the family went to an orphanage in Song Be. Brandon was adopted at age 9 and came to his new family in Sargent, NE. He was given his forever name Brandon Glen Morse. Brandon attended and graduated from Sargent Public Schools in 2009. Then he went onto Job Core at Pine Ridge, NE and graduated with a certificate in welding in 2010. Brandon was united in marriage to Dinh Thi Kim Nhung on June 10, 2018. Brandon and Nhung lived briefly in Kearney, NE, then moving to a home in Sargent. They have one daughter, Emily. Brandon enjoyed working at Sargent Pipe as a welder. Brandon was a member at the Assumption of the Virgin Mary’s Catholic Church in Sargent. Brandon was hardworking, caring, and kind.

Byron grew up as a farm boy working the fields and tending cattle. He attended Neligh-Oakdale Schools in Nebraska. He was a veteran during the Korean War stationed in Germany. Upon returning home, he attended the University of Nebraska graduating with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Byron spent the next forty years as a civilian contractor in computer systems for the US Government. He was a lifelong learner and avid reader. His hobbies included astronomy, genealogy and psychological insight. He enjoyed a good polka and dancing to likes of the Glen Miller Band. Byron and family took two genealogy trips to explore the roots of our ancestors in Sweden and Ireland. Byron was an active member of the Unity Church, participated in the men’s groups, and held numerous positions including the President of the Board of Directors. He was also a member of the Colorado Jung Society. In his retirement, he took to writing and self-publishing two books on his spiritual journey. He could be found every morning sitting at his computer checking emails and working on his notes. He will be remembered for the notecards in his shirt pocket, his smile, laugh and the twinkle in his eye especially when he spoke of growing up on the farm and a horse name Blu and dog named Butch. And for all who knew him when asked how he was doing-“Getting better all the time.” Byron married Wilma Jean Tagel on October 23, 1955. They had two children Jed Johnson and Laurie Johnson, who survive him. Byron married Gloria Hearten on August 30, 1985. He is survived by two children Melody Hearten-Johnson and Joy Hearten-Johnson. Agnes RoseAnn Farrell, 95, from North Platte, Nebraska, more recently Kansas City, Missouri, died peacefully October 16, 2022, at Kansas University Medical Center.&nbsp; She was born April 10, 1927, in Hayes Center NE, the youngest child of Orville and Margaret (Walker) Evans and youngest sibling of Ray, Margaret, Zora, Blaine, Ralph and Paul, all proceeding her in death.

RoseAnn, married John Leonard Farrell of McCook, (he preceded her in death) in 1949 and the two settled in North Platte where she resided until July 2020 when she moved to Kansas City MO to live with and be near family.

To say much of RoseAnn’s life is connected to family, first with her own parents and siblings and then her own children, would be an understatement. RoseAnn lost her first child (Joseph John) an hour after birth and was told she would never have children. Surprise! Six children soon came: Michael Kevin (Robbinsdale MN), Dennis (Joshua) Farrell, (Kansas City, MO) Thomas and wife Liz Farrell &nbsp;(Papillion NE), Diane and husband Tom Lyngdal (Plymouth MN), Mary Pat and husband Blane Haywood, (Chattanooga TN), Peggy Farrell (Hastings NE).

Grandchildren: Meghan Farrell, Zachary Farrell (Sarah), Ari Farrell, Maureen Farrell, Judson Farrell (Katy), Eric Lyngdal (Sarah), Connor Lyngdal, Kelsey Lyngdal, Meredith Haywood, Bridget DiStefano (Blaise), Mary Margaret Haywood and Jane Ann Haywood.

Great grandchildren: Tabitha Farrell, Dominic Farrell, Matthew Olson.

Graduate of McCook High School, RoseAnn was offered a Regents Academic Scholarship at the University of Nebraska but was unable to accept it due to family responsibilities. She continued education at McCook Junior College. The world of business appealed to her, and she continued working at and eventually managed Prest Drug in McCook. After moving to North Platte, she along with others were founding member of the Lincoln County All Saints Federal Credit Union, now Centris Credit Union. RoseAnn managed and then became the sole owner of The Shepherd’s Books and Gifts store until her retirement in 2007.

Education remained a lifelong passion for RoseAnn, no doubt instilled in her by her parents, who always had family or boarders living at her parent’s home while completing school. RoseAnn Farrell (1927-2022)

Donald Fred Lunn, age 72, died Monday, October 17th, 2022 at his home in Ogallala.

Don was born in Kansas City, Kansas on August 19th, 1950 to Ted and June (Garst) Lunn, where they lived for a short time before moving to Colorado. After graduating from Highland High School in Thornton, CO he served for a short period in the US Marine Corps. Following that, he held many jobs over the years, from college student, to bartender, and a host of others in between. Don eventually began work installing carpet. He was also a local sales representative, and finally a successful regional sales representative for Mohawk. Don had four children; Sean, Nicole, James, and Joseph. Don moved to Ogallala, NE in 2015 and lived there until his passing. Don had a love for the outdoors, particularly hunting, fishing, and boating, and ultimately golf.

Don was preceded in death by: his father Ted Lunn. Don is survived by: his mother June Lunn, brother Teddy Lunn, children Sean Lunn, Nicole Mills, James Lunn, and Joseph Lunn, grandchildren Kathryn Fisher, Allyssa Mills, Hannah Mills, Riley Lunn, David Nelson, Madison Nelson, Holly Nelson, and Charles Hoffman, and great grandchildren Tika Fisher, Kayden Fisher, Korbin Fisher, Daunte Mills, and Lylah Mills.

Memorial services are Friday, October 21st, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Curt Magelky officiating. Services will be live streamed at www.drauckerfh.com. Ruth Carlson (1927-2022)

Mardee Faye Swanson, 81, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at her daughter’s home in Sharpsburg, Georgia October 9th, 2022, after a short battle with Cancer.

She was born September 10th, 1941, in Curtis, Nebraska to Fay and Gladys Gardner. Mardee grew up in Curtis and worked at her parents movie theater throughout high school. She was a member of the marching band where she was a Drum Majorette, and she also was a member of Job’s Daughters. After graduating from Curtis High School in 1959 she continued her education at a tech school in Omaha that trained secretaries and teletype operators. After completing school, she went to work for the CIA in Washington D.C. It was there that she made a call to Swede Swanson, her high school sweetheart, who was also in D.C. He was so happy to see a girl in jeans! They got engaged later that year and married on April 17, 1960, in Curtis. Through the years they moved to California and Oregon before returning to North Platte and eventually moving and settling South of Hershey in 1974, where they owned and operated a farm and ranch. She said two of the happiest days of her life were when she married Swede and when they moved to Hershey. Mardee started riding horses at the age of 27 after her husband began steer wrestling. She immediately loved to “go fast” and began barrel racing with much success over the years. She saw an ad in the local newspaper about a group of ladies that wanted to start a women’s riding club. The rest, as they say is history. Mardee was a charter member of the Velvet Spurs Riding club, which celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2018. Through those beginnings she went on to become a member of the Buffalo Bill Rodeo Queen Committee in the early 1980’s and was instrumental in forming the Miss Rodeo Nebraska Association in 1992 where she served as the National Director for 10 years. Mardee was asked to join the NEBRASKAland Days Board of Directors in 1990. She served a term of four years and was elected President her last year. She was involved in many events of Nebraska’s state celebra­tion since its beginning over 55 years ago. She has been a member of Miss Rodeo America Inc. since 1991, most recently as a Lifetime Gold Member and a 2019 Inductee to the MRA Hall of Fame. She was very active in all aspects of MRAI and the MRA Pageant, serving on multiple committees and the Executive Board. Over the years Mardee has been given many awards and honors for her involvement with the Velvet Spurs and NEBRASKALand Days. She had the honor of carrying the American flag at the Buffalo Bill Rodeo for many years. Mardee said that in her heart she knew that none of this would have happened if she had not become a Velvet Spur member over 50 years ago and learned to ride. Mardee often talked about the support from all these organizations along with her family when tragedy struck in 1974 with the death of her son Rocky and in 2004 when her husband Swede passed away. She was forever grateful to everyone that helped her through those difficult times. In addition to her passion for rodeo, rodeo queens and pageants, Mardee was an active member in the community volunteering at the Prairie Arts Center and was a member of P.E.O. Chapter EB. She loved watching Shane and Sabrena play sports in high school and later in college. She enjoyed traveling all over the world usually in the company of her sister, brother, and Sister-in-Law. Her most recent trip this summer was to Ireland with her daughters and friends. Through the years one of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She adored her family and was an amazing role model and example of unconditional love to them. Mardee will be missed by all that she touched. She was a friend to everyone she met and had a way of making you feel so special! Her beauty, giving spirit, compassion, sense of humor, and selfless nature will live on.

Survivors include a son Shane (Michelle) Swanson of Loveland, CO; a daughter Sabrena (Kelly) Swanson of Sharpsburg, GA; a brother Kim (Linda) Gardner of Johnstown, CO; grandchildren, Katie (Drew) Swanson Parks, Kris (Jess Ferlic) Swanson, and Morgan (Alex) Swanson, Patrick McNamara, and Justin Swanson; great grandchildren Sullivan Parks, Vivian Parks and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her Husband Swede; a son Rocky; her parents; a father- and mother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Swanson; a sister Sharon Carper: sisters-in-law, Doris Swanson and Evelyn Sines; and brother-in-law Kenny Carper.

There will be Celebration of Life in Georgia as well as a final memorial in North Platte, Nebraska:

Saturday October 29th&nbsp;1:00 p.m. – Community Christian Church 1717 Hwy 154 Sharpsburg, GA - lunch to follow.

Saturday November 12th&nbsp;2:00 p.m. – Harvest Christian Fellowship 1501 S Dewey St, North Platte, NE –Diet Coke, coffee and dessert to follow
