Kim R. Wagner, age 59, of Arnold died October 12, 2022 at the Great Plains Regional Health in North Platte.

Kim Renee Wagner of Arnold passed away peacefully on October 12th, 2022, with her loved ones by her side at the age of 59.

Kim was born on January 13th, 1963, in Sidney, NE to LaVern and Kay Wagner. She and her family settled in Arvada, CO where she then graduated from Arvada West High School in 1981.&nbsp; After graduation, she moved back to Sidney and created many memories with family and friends.&nbsp; On June 4th, 1992, Kim welcomed her daughter Natasha into the world, and she then became Kim’s whole world. In 1998, Kim and her family then moved to Arnold, NE and settled in the community.&nbsp; Later in life, Kim met Gary Mackley and lived a wonderful life with him and their dog Ela on the farm.&nbsp;

Kim was known for her friendly smile, cheerful spirit, caring heart, and love for the Lord, her family, and friends.&nbsp; Kim enjoyed spending her time helping Gary on the farm whether it was working cattle, driving to check pastures, or feeding any bucket calves she had.&nbsp; Another big part of Kim’s life was her daughter Natasha and grandson Emmett.&nbsp; They often visited Kim and Gary on the farm spending their time relaxing on the front porch, playing board games, exploring on the farm, and making many memories.

Preceding Kim in death were her parents, LaVern and Kay, and sister Monica.

Survivors include her partner Gary Mackley; her daughter, Natasha Sage of Elkhorn; grandson, Emmett Carlson of Elkhorn; sister, Arlene Brestel of Big Springs; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kim Wagner (1963-2022)

&nbsp; &nbsp; Florence Elizabeth Uerling, a longtime resident of Indianola, passed away Sunday evening, October 16, 2022 at the Highland Park Retirement Community in McCook.&nbsp; She was 95 years of age.&nbsp; Florence was born on the family farm in Frontier County, Nebraska on September 20, 1927, to Clarence and Ester (Hanthorn) Sughroue.&nbsp; She graduated from Indianola High School in 1945.&nbsp; Florence taught at a country school in Frontier County after graduating from high school.

&nbsp; &nbsp; On June 9, 1948, she married Joseph J. “Jerry” Uerling at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Indianola, Nebraska.&nbsp; They made their home in&nbsp; &nbsp; Indianola, where they raised their five children.&nbsp; Florence also helped in the family business of Uerling Locker for many years.&nbsp; She enjoyed hunting with her husband and traveling with the Good Sam’s Club, after their retirement.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Florence was a member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and the Altar Society, the Indianola American Legion Auxiliary, Fireman’s Auxiliary, and the Indianola Historical Society.

&nbsp; &nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Ester Sughroue; brothers, Kenneth Sughroue, Stanley Sughroue, and Clarence “Babe” Sughroue; sisters, Helen Helm, Doris Castelli, and Loretta Belknap.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Survivors include her husband, Jerry Uerling of McCook; son, Nicholas Uerling and wife, Sandra, of Oaks, North Dakota; daughter, Jane Newberry and husband, Paul, of Indianola; daughter, Joellyn Davidson and husband, Tom, of Indianola; daughter, Lisa Chester of Garden City, Kansas; daughter, Tracy Ruggles and husband, Rick of McCook; sister-in-law, Ruth Sughroue of Indianola; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and loved ones.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 from 10AM-7PM at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook.&nbsp; The family will be present to greet friends from 5pm-7pm.

Florence Elizabeth Uerling (1927-2022)

&nbsp; Dorothy May Miller was born April 30, 1930, at Longmont, Colorado, to Henry J. and Anna E. (Meier) Vogel. She attended Longmont High School and upon graduation, she worked for J.C. Penney. On November 13, 1949, Dorothy was united in marriage to Melvin Miller. The couple farmed in several areas in Colorado and Nebraska. While farming at Eaton, Colorado two children were born to this union: Merl and Melva. They moved to Champion, Nebraska, in 1982, and lived on a farm northwest of Champion. In 1996, they made their final move to a farm east of Imperial. Dorothy was a member of the Christian Women’s Club; she led Bible studies, was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and attended the Imperial Bible Church and the Imperial Berean Church. She is a breast cancer survivor and ministered to many who were going through breast cancer. Dorothy enjoyed singing in the church choir and community groups. She also took up golf in later years and enjoyed being out with other women. She enjoyed water skiing and loved spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family at the lake. She shared her baking talents with the community. She had a servant’s heart. Dorothy May passed away Saturday morning, October 15, 2022, at the CountryHouse Assisted Living in Kearney. She was 92 years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Melvin; and her siblings, an infant brother, Marie Vogel and infant twin sister, Henry Vogel, Jacob Vogel, Lydia Walker, Carl Vogel, Emanuel Vogel, Konstantin Vogel, Edward Ruben Vogel, Emma Hay, Edward David Vogel, Ruben Vogel, Ruth Richart, and Jean Dove. She is survived by her son, Merl Miller and wife Ann of Imperial; daughter, Melva Ruyle and husband Jim of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Guy Gilsdorf and wife Dani of Kearney, Lyn Miller of Rapid City, SD, Seth Miller and wife Kristen of Lakewood, CO, Sarah Burkhardt and husband Ryan of Kearney; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Cody and Gabe Gilsdorf, Tobey Miller, Nora and Emmett Burkhart and Adalee and Jaxson Miller; along with many nieces and nephews. Gary Herbert Ott (1944-2022)

Theodore Walter Daigger, age 81, of North Platte and Tryon, died October 14, 2022 in Tryon, NE.&nbsp; He was born on December 11, 1940 in Grant, NE to Theodore Roosevelt and Helen Nadean (Walter) Daigger.

Ted graduated from McPherson County High School in 1957. He then went on to Chadron State College, where he majored in Industrial Arts and Math. While in college he married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Haney on May 21, 1960. To this union two children were born, Gregory Leon and Nadean Lela.&nbsp; During the summers of his college years, he worked for Missouri Valley Construction building bridges.&nbsp; After college graduation, Ted taught Math and Industrial Arts at Stamford, NE.&nbsp;&nbsp; He later moved to Tryon where he taught for an additional 15 years.&nbsp; Shirley passed away December 4, 1988. He hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad in 1977 as a Carman.&nbsp; He worked a short time as a Carman, and completed most of his career with the Union Pacific Railroad as an engineer, retiring in 2007.&nbsp; Ted was married briefly to Carol Olson in 1989. He belonged to the First United Methodist Church in North Platte, was a past member of the Odd Fellows, and was Treasurer for the North Platte Senior Center.&nbsp;&nbsp; Ted married Sonja Waltermire on October 10th, 1992 and the couple resided in North Platte.&nbsp; Sonja died on April 16, 2018.&nbsp; Ted loved to play cards and fish.&nbsp; His passion in life was working and staying active.&nbsp; He was an excellent gardener and was amazing at math and numbers, using math to solve many problems.

Survivors include his children, Greg (Sherry Wever) Daigger of North Platte, and Nadean (Don) Spaulding of Roca, NE; grandchildren, Matt Spaulding of Omaha, Elizabeth Spaulding of Boulder, CO, Emily Spaulding of Lincoln, Dillon Daigger of Hastings, and Dane (Racheal) Daigger of Kearney; brother, John (Pat) Daigger of North Platte; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Edith Ellen and John Gale; special friend, Jan Smith of North Platte; and numerous other family members and friends.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, and an infant brother, Kite.&nbsp; A memorial has been established to the North Platte Senior Center and online condolences and livestream of the service can be found at adamsswanson.com.

Theodore Walter Daigger (1940-2022)

Bernard Allen Gardner, age 89, of North Platte, died October 14, 2022 at his home.&nbsp; He was born on April 18, 1933 in Quick, NE to Clyde James and Violet Vivene (Murphy) Gardner.

Bernard attended county School District 101, his freshman year at Stockville and graduated from Curtis School of Agriculture, Curtis, Nebraska.&nbsp; After graduation he hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad as a machinist.&nbsp; He entered into the U.S. Army serving at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.&nbsp; After his discharge he returned to North Platte where he continued working for the railroad, retiring after 41 years.&nbsp; Bernard took excellent care of his mother, traveling through every state but Hawaii with her.&nbsp; He was a RSVP volunteer, delivering Meals on Wheels for many years.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Survivors include 2 sisters, Greta (Willis) Roethemeyer of North Platte, and Peggy Miller of Kearney, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim Gardner; and 2 sisters, Rosalie Henggeler and Vyvene Young.

 </figure>Bernard Allen Gardner, age 89, of North Platte, died October 14, 2022 at his home.&nbsp; He was born on April 18, 1933 in Quick, NE to Clyde James and Violet Vivene (Murphy) Gardner.Bernard attended county School District 101, his freshman year at Stockville and graduated from Curtis School of Agriculture, Curtis, Nebraska.&nbsp; After graduation he hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad as a machinist.&nbsp; He entered into the U.S. Army serving at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.&nbsp; After his discharge he returned to North Platte where he continued working for the railroad, retiring after 41 years.&nbsp; Bernard took excellent care of his mother, traveling through every state but Hawaii with her.&nbsp; He was a RSVP volunteer, delivering Meals on Wheels for many years.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Survivors include 2 sisters, Greta (Willis) Roethemeyer of North Platte, and Peggy Miller of Kearney, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.&nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim Gardner; and 2 sisters, Rosalie Henggeler and Vyvene Young.Memorials may be directed to the North Platte Senior Center and the Lincoln County Historical Museum. Their union was blessed with two sons, Brandon and Scott. She worked at Evans Bakery in Cozad as a cake decorator for over 25 years. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her potato salad. She enjoyed fishing for crappie and social hour with her friends and family that would come to visit. Sharon loved her family dearly and spent a lot of time babysitting all of her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother in law, Doris Armagost. Survivors include her husband, Delmar of Cozad; sons, Brandon (Kathy) Armagost of Cozad and Scott Armagost (Kaycia Hagan) of Cozad; daughter, Melissa Crick of Cozad; step daughter, Michelle Stoddard and step son, Donald Armagost, both of Texas; grandchildren, Reilly Fichtner, Gunnar Armagost, Reagan Armagost, Kinley Armagost, Rylan Armagost, and Ruger Tetley; sisters, Vickie (Gary) Lee of Cozad and Stacy (Dave) Larsen of Omaha; brothers, David (Cindy) Crick of Cozad and Bill (Brenda) Crick of Cozad; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Mary Ruth Walla, 92, of Gothenburg NE went to her heavenly home on October 16, 2022.

Ruth Walla was born on November 18, 1929 in Omaha, NE. At the age of three months old she and her twin sister were adopted and became the daughters of Lester and Imo (Mallery) Shadle. Ruth grew up in Hemingford, graduating from Hemingford High School in 1949. Ruth married Don Walla on November 25, 1949 at the United Methodist Church in Hemingford, NE.

Ruth lived most of her early life in Hemingford, NE where she worked at the family bakery before meeting and marrying the love of her life and welcoming two children to complete their family. She lived briefly in Grand Island, NE before moving to Gothenburg, NE where she worked at Meyer’s Drug, Potter’s Pharmacy and Gallagher’s. Ruth and Don settled in Brady, NE where she began the most important role of her life, babysitting many children. After the death of her husband she spent the rest of her days in Gothenburg, NE close to family and friends.

Ruth’s whole world was her family, friends and babysitting kids. She was an avid sports fan-she loved her HUSKERS and always cheered on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. Ruth enjoyed baking and always made sure everyone was well fed and taken care of. In the summer you could find her in the garden as she loved flowers of all kinds. Ruth was loved by everyone who knew her-she was everyone’s grandma. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ruth is survived by her son Jon Todd Walla (Isabell) of Clovis, NM and their children Zach (Brittley) Walla, Keri (Taylor) Borden, Stephen Encinias, Matthew (Allison) Encinias; daughter Pam (J) Buddenberg of Gothenburg, NE and their children Jenni (Scott) Stevens, Bridget (Tom) Buddenberg and Jason (Emily) Buddenberg. Grandchildren Arian Ruth Stevens, Remi Don Stevens, Lilli Stevens, Madison &amp; Tatum Encinias, Grayson Encinias, Levi Walla, Alex Buddenberg, Sabrina Buddenberg and Scarlett Buddenberg. Her twin sister Barb Beiter of Kearney, NE, several nieces and nephews and many great friends. Also survived by the many babysitting kids and their families who lovingly called her “Grandma Ruth.”

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Don Walla, her parents, her in-laws, her brothers-in-laws Dallas Walla and Bruce Beitler.

Ruth Walla (1929-2022)

Darell L. Marquardt, 76, passed away at his farm surrounded by family on October 15, 2022.&nbsp; Darell was born the oldest of three children to Herbert E. and Dorothy R. (Murray) Marquardt on December 22, 1945 in Julesburg, CO.

The family lived south of Venango, NE until Darell was 5.&nbsp; At that time they moved to a farm 12 miles south of Julesburg, CO. Darell started first grade at Rolling Prairie School District #1, a country school about a mile from the farm.&nbsp; He attended school there through the 8th grade until the country school closed and students enrolled in Julesburg. Darell graduated in 1964 from Julesburg High School.&nbsp; He then attended and graduated from Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, CO. While in college, Darell joined the Colorado National Guard, serving six years.

In high school, Darell met Deann Montgomery on a blind date. The couple later married on May 1, 1966. They made their home on a farm near Darell’s family’s farm south of Julesburg. It was here that the couple welcomed their first child, Kimberly, into the family.&nbsp; In 1969, the couple moved to North Platte, NE where Darell hired on to the Union Pacific Railroad and their marriage was blessed with two more children, Jason and Marla. Darell and Deann purchased their dream home along Hwy 30 in North Platte and worked tirelessly on the farm. While running the farm, Darell continued to work as a locomotive engineer for 37 years. Darell had farming in his blood. As a boy he was involved in 4-H and once raised 250 hogs for an FFA project.&nbsp; When he purchased his own farm he expanded his interest and raised chickens, sheep, longhorn cattle as well as hogs. He loved raising hay and seeing all the beautiful bales lined up in rows after the final cutting. In the winter, he enjoyed pulling the grandkids on a car hood behind the pick-up across the empty corn fields. Darell was a hard worker so he took on many other jobs besides farming and railroading.&nbsp; Throughout his life he worked at a saw mill, horse plant, fertilizer plant, setting up mobile homes and even as a taxi driver in North Platte.&nbsp; At one time he partnered with family to open Evergreen Auction Service where he was an auctioneer. Darell believed in giving back to others and his community.&nbsp; He was a member of the Lincoln County Fairboard for a number of years and judged rabbits in the poultry group.&nbsp; In addition he was a member of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Posse and was currently serving on the North Platte Fireboard. Darell was a devout Christian and served as an elder at Our Reedemer Lutheran Church for a number of years.

Darell was proceeded in death by his wife, Deann Marquardt and parents, Herbert and Dorothy Marquardt.&nbsp; Those left to cherish Darell’s memory are his children, Kimberly Dee (Jerry) Denison of Centennial, CO, Jason Darell (Heather) Marquardt of Sutherland, and Marla Jo (Greg) Vang of North Platte; grandchildren, Aaron Buckelew, Jeremy (Brett) Denison, Kyle Denison, Kennedy (Kevin) Starling, and Daisha Deann Marquardt; great-grandchildren, J.J. Denison, Jace Vang, Keeton Vang, Everleigh Miller, Gary and Patrick Lehl, and Shelby Buckelew; sisters, Carolyn Smith of Denver, CO, and Bonnie VanCura of North Platte; and many nieces and nephews.

Darell L. Marquardt (1945-2022)

Judy Mae Zimbelman of Cozad passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at Cozad Community Hospital at the age of 78. Judy was born May 5, 1944 in Harvey, Illinois to Charles and Nellie (Bullis) Peck. She grew up in the rural Gothenburg area where she attended school. Her senior year the family moved to Central City where she graduated high school.

Judy was united in marriage to Dennis Zimbelman on August 26, 1962 in Gothenburg Nebraska. They had three children, Greg, Scott, and Doug. Judy and Dennis lived the majority of their lives in Cozad, most recently on an acreage south of town, where they continued to reside at the time of her passing.

Judy was a kind, generous, and creative person. She loved her family most of all. Judy was always sending a text or calling for no reason other than to let you know she was thinking of you. Her creativity was everywhere in her home and yard. She loved to paint. Her paintings always held a meaning and purpose. She spent many hours sketching and contemplating before a brushstroke hit the canvas. When the grandchildren and great grandchildren came to visit, the crayons or paints were sure to come out. She loved to watch them create. Quilting was also one of her passions and she approached each one with the same thought for its design as she did with her paintings. Judy always had a thoughtful or imaginative post on Facebook. Her posts about the adventures of the creatures in her yard will be missed by all.

Although Judy had many jobs, she considered herself a social worker. She began her career at Southview Manor and later working at South Central Developmental Services. Her proudest career achievement was attaining her Social Services Certificate from the State of Nebraska and the job it led her to at Region II Human Services.

Her family and friends will miss her dearly.&nbsp; Grandma, you are “Free to Be”!&nbsp; Your family loves and misses you but we take peace in knowing you are laughing with your sisters and watching over us.&nbsp;

Judy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dennis; Three sons, Greg (Aleta) Zimbelman, Scott (Janna) Zimbelman, Doug Zimbelman all of Cozad; grandchildren, Lindsey (Isaac) Obermiller of Kearney, Lane (Chassi) Zimbelman of Kearney, Lauren (Ryan) Reynolds of Lexington, Courtney (Ally) Zimbelman-Burt of Lincoln, Eric (Lauren) Zimbelman of Cozad, Jacob Zimbelman of Kearney, Kyle Zimbelman of Kearney, Lucas Zimbelman of Kearney; great grandchildren, Landyn, Aspyn, Kennedy, Mila, Maddoc, Rex, Addilynn and Emily; Sister, Charlotte (Merlin) Nelson of Sedalia MO; brother, David (Charlene) Peck of Cozad; brother in law, Rod (Linda) Duffey of Minden; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Dennis M. Smith, 72, of North Platte, passed away October 11, 2022 at the Nebraska Med Center in Omaha.&nbsp; He was born April 9, 1950 to George and Audrey (Towne) Smith in North Platte.

Dennis grew up in North Platte and Harrisburg, Nebraska. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1969. Dennis married Penny Blythman and to this union three children were born: Dennis, Victor, and Bobbie Jo.&nbsp; He later married Sandra Clark and to this union a daughter was born: Shantel.&nbsp; Dennis helped raise Sandra’s two boys, Tren and Brad Clark.

Dennis liked to hunt and fish, work on cars, ride motorcycles, and attend his grandkids sporting events.&nbsp;

Survivors include six children, Tren (Melissa) Clark, of California, Dennis (Angie) Smith of Maxwell, Brad Clark of North Platte, Victor Smith of North Platte, Bobbie Jo Smith of Bellevue, Shantel Clark of North Platte; sister, Cheryl (Gene) Stanley of Salina, KS; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.&nbsp;

Preceding him in death were parents, George and Audrey; brother, Marvin; sister, Melvena; and grandson, Aaron Smith.

Eddie L. Garcia, 71, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

He was born on January 17, 1951, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Eddie S. and Margaret (Garringer) Garcia. Eddie received his education from Lexington Public Schools and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1969. Following high school, Eddie was inducted into the United States Army-National Guard where he proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged on November 11, 1975. Eddie settled back in Lexington and married Denice Unterseher on June 8, 1975 at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington. Two children were blessed to this union: Chad and Stacey. Eddie worked for the state with the Nebraska Department of Roads, Sperry New Holland until they closed before starting a long career as a floor covering installer. Eddie started with his cousin, Mark Hueftle and installed flooring for over 30 years. After retirement, Eddie staring working for Elanco, collecting data for Tyson for a few years. Eddie had many hobbies which included hunting and fishing. He won many trophies Trap Shooting and was a dog lover. Eddie also enjoyed tinkering, taking things apart and seeing how things worked. &nbsp;&nbsp;He loved old cars, especially corvettes and his pride and joy were his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Denice of Lexington; his children, Chad (Melissa) Garcia of Broken Bow and Stacey (Brandon) Gibreal of Kearney; four grandchildren, Kennedy, Gavin, Grace and Brody; two brothers, Brent Garcia of Elwood and Dave (Susan) Garcia of Lincoln; brothers and sister-in-law, Mike Unterseher of Inola, Oklahoma, Ron Unterseher of Denver, Colorado, Dave (Vickie) Unterseher of Lexington and Sheila (Kurt) Glen of Lincoln; special friends, Bob (Diane) Adams of Kearney; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

&nbsp; David W. Peterson, 80, of Madrid, passed away on October 11, 2022, at the Perkins County Hospital in Grant. David was born February 14, 1942, at Genoa, Nebraska, to John C and Mildred L. (Fiddock) Peterson. David and his family moved to Perkins County in 1949. He graduated from Madrid High School with the class of 1959 and subsequently graduated from Dana College in 1965. On January 19, 1963, David met and married Nancie Ann Brockmeyer at Blair, Nebraska. Their union was blessed with three daughters, Kimberly, Kristina, and Kyra. David committed his life to farming, primarily dry land, which he had done passionately since the age of 16. He and the family were awarded the Keith County Pioneer Family Award in 1995, which was a dearly special honor to his family. David was a longtime member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Grant, where he taught Sunday school and served as an elder of the church for over 33 years. Aside from farming, David dedicated much of his life to the service of his community and to others. He served on the Perkins County Hospital Foundation Board for nine years and was a committee member of the Madrid Volunteer Fire Department for over 35 years. David also gave a considerable amount of his time and talents to the Orphan Grain Train in Julesburg, Colorado. David served many years as chairman of the Madrid Town Board, where he was an ardent supporter of Madrid Days. He was also known for his dedication in helping gather prizes and calling the numbers for Bingo. David was an avid volunteer for the Madrid Senior Meals. David had a sense of humor all his own, replete with plenty of "David-isms." When asked to do something, he often replied, "it'll cost you a quarter." He loved to make his girls smile and found evermore creative ways to accomplish his goal. One of David's hallmark sayings over the years was, "Maybe next year." It was perhaps in God's providential plan that David came to know the virtue of patience through his lifelong commitment to farming, but alas, "next year" has finally arrived. May he now rest in God's peace. Thelma Brenning (1929-2022)

&nbsp; CHRIS HARTSUIKER JR, 85, of Ogallala, NE, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the Ogallala Community Hospital. Chris was born June 1, 1937, at Luverne, MN, to Chris and Gilma (Bowyer) Hartsuiker Sr. In 1949, Chris made a formal profession of faith to serve Christ with his life and was baptized. On December 31, 1958, Chris married Esther Bishop at Arvada, Colorado. Chris owned and operated a landscaping business for nearly 15 years in and around the Lakewood, Colorado area before relocating to Nebraska in 1973. Chris continued his landscaping and included sprinklers in his business until 1987, when his son took over the business. Chris and Esther moved to Pueblo West, Colorado in 2003; however, moved back to Ogallala in 2013, where he finished out his days. Chris was a Jack of all trades, having obtained a certification as a welder, earned his real estate license, worked for KOGA radio, learned to be a copier tech for Office Services, owned and renovated rental homes, and enjoyed driving a truck for Paulsen Inc. Chris' health began to deteriorate in which necessitated a slower pace of life. Chris was serious about his walk with God, and his faith carried him through years of illness. He was a man of his family, cherishing the moments he spent with them. Chris was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Esther (Bishop) Hartsuiker of Ogallala; children, Cynthia Pickering of Ogallala, Kimberly (John) Mercado of Nebraska City, Randall (Cynthi) of Big Springs, Cara-Lene (Dannie) Farmer of Ogallala, Lonnie Grover of Ogallala; ten grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; six great step-grandchildren; four siblings, Roberta-Lu (Weldon) Price of Palisade CO, Gary (Linda) Hartsuiker Canyon City, CO, Sharalyn (DeWayne) Nowell of Pueblo West, CO, Jim (Kathy) Hartsuiker of Castle Rock, CO; along with many other relatives and friends. Georgia Mahaffie died on September 27th, 2022 at Linden Court from long-term health issues.&nbsp; She was born in North Platte, NE on October 3rd, 1938 and graduated from North Platte High School in 1957. Georgia will always be remembered for her sweet, compassionate, and generous spirit.&nbsp; Whenever she saw a need, she did what she could to meet it; wherever she saw sadness, she sought to lift people's spirits.&nbsp; Many would say that she had a gift for making people feel loved and she expressed that sweet love to others until the very end. In her youth, Georgia was a dancer, actress, honor student, and Color Day Queen.&nbsp; She received many accolades throughout her school years.&nbsp; After graduating from high school, Georgia attended the University of Nebraska.&nbsp; She was a member of Delta Gamma and met her first husband, John Benedict (of Delta Tau Delta), at a sorority/fraternity social event.&nbsp; They were married one year later and had two children, Greg and Katy.&nbsp; Georgia and John lived in five different states before they settled in Bloomington, MN (where Georgia lived for 28 years).&nbsp; Before long, she was introduced to Bible Study Fellowship, where she enjoyed Christian fellowship, an intensive study of the Bible and a renewed faith that she carried with her throughout the rest of her life. Georgia was a loving mother and an exceptional grandmother.&nbsp; The crowning blessings of her life were her two granddaughters and three grandsons.&nbsp; She adored them, was devoted to them, and helped care for them (especially when they were small).&nbsp; She was blessed to live close to her family for many years and she made holidays and family gatherings beautiful and special. Georgia was never at a loss for friends.&nbsp; When she was not helping others in practical ways, she was sharing in their joys or providing comfort and support in their sorrows.&nbsp; She loved to entertain and to travel to tropical destinations with John and their friends, and one of the highlights of her life was traveling to Europe with her best friend, Janet.&nbsp; &nbsp; Later in life, Georgia moved to Colorado Springs where she worked as a receptionist for Focus on the Family.&nbsp; She loved being part of Focus on the Family and she enjoyed her occupation.&nbsp; While she was living in Colorado Springs, she renewed her friendship with Butch Rasmussen, a childhood classmate.&nbsp; She married Butch, moved back to North Platte, and they were married for approximately 11 years until their divorce in 2012.&nbsp;&nbsp; Georgia suffered from health issues for 20+ years but we are so thankful that she knew the Lord and is now with Him.&nbsp; He has wiped away every tear and she is finally free of pain and distress, enjoying perfect health and basking in the light and warmth of God's unfailing love.&nbsp;&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; On February 19, 1956, Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Dolyn D. Brown in Culbertson.&nbsp;&nbsp; Dolyn was in the United States Air Force.&nbsp; Barbara was a proud military wife and mother to their four children.&nbsp; Their twenty years in the Air Force would take them to Schilling Air Force Base in Salina, Kansas; Lincoln Air Force Base in Lincoln, Nebraska; KI Sawyer Air Force Base in Michigan; and Edwards Air Force Base in California.&nbsp; The family returned to Culbertson in 1974. &nbsp; &nbsp; Barbara was an avid reader.&nbsp; She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles.&nbsp; She enjoyed bird watching and loved working in and caring for her garden.&nbsp; Above all, Barbara was a passionate fan and follower of her children and grandchildren, attending countless Culbertson Bears and McCook Bison events.&nbsp; In addition to the local sports teams, Barb was a fan of Nebraska Husker sports. &nbsp; &nbsp; Barbara passed away Thursday evening, October 6, 2022 at Community Hospital in McCook, Nebraska.&nbsp; She was 84 years of age.

Fauniel Kimberling (1937-2022)

Marilyn Kay Weddel, 83, passed away peacefully at home on October 3, 2022 surrounded by her daughters and partner, Lou. Marilyn (Myrtle) was born on 9/15/39 in North Platte, Nebraska to Clayton and Bernice McMichael. Marilyn grew up in North Platte and married her high school sweetheart Raymond Stanley Weddel on July 12, 1957. Marilyn and Stan enjoyed a life in the Air Force with many moves and adventures until settling in Fort Collins, Colorado in 1968. Marilyn's first love, Stan, died of cancer in October of 1995 with Marilyn and daughters at his side. Marilyn worked as an office manager for Dr. Nelson Bachus, then for Dr. William Self until her retirement. She loved hiking adventures, the outdoors, birds and traveling. She was very active with the Multiple Sclerosis Society in many capacities. These adventures took her to Wyoming, Colorado and Oregon raising awareness. Many MS bike riders will remember her in various costumes cheering them on. In September of 2001, Marilyn met the second love of her life, Lou Lambdin and the two of them continued on many adventures to include travels to Europe, Costa Rica and Hawaii. With the purchase of their 5th wheel they enjoyed traveling adventures in Colorado and Nebraska. As Marilyn slowed down she enjoyed porch time with Lou and working her word puzzle books.

Marilyn is survived by her partner Louis Carter Lambdin. Her little sister Kathy (Larry) Adkisson. Her three children, Debra (Scott) Dawson, Cynthia (Dennis) Perez and Cathryn (Bill) McFarren. Grandchildren; Heather (Jeff Brannan) Dawson, Charles (Charlee) Dawson, Amber (Rich) Tromke, Amanda (Josh) Delatorre, Jacob (Becky) McFarren, Corrina (Jerimiah) Medina, Kayla Hesse and Sera McFarren. She was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

&nbsp;Scott A. Remund, age 62, of Arnold died Friday October 7, 2022, at his home near Arnold.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday October 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the McDowell Lake near the family home.&nbsp; It is located two miles west of Arnold on Hwy #92 and one and a half mile north on Road #409.&nbsp; Interment will be in the Arnold Cemetery.&nbsp; A visitation will be held on Thursday morning 9:30 AM until service time at the lake.&nbsp;

Memorials are suggested to the family to aid in college for his children.&nbsp;

Scott A Remund (1960-2022)

&nbsp; Ina Mae Wilson was born February 19, 1932, at Oakley, Kansas, to George and Florence (Hapes) Andersen. As a youngster she grew up on a farm near Benkelman, Nebraska, attending country school. Then, as a teenager, Ina Mae boarded and worked at the Benkelman Hospital while attending Benkelman High School graduating in 1949. Ina Mae married Jack V. Wilson on September 15, 1949, at the Zion Lutheran Church of Benkelman, where the couple first settled. Ina Mae and Jack then resided in several different communities including Grant and Elwood, Nebraska, following Jack’s career with the State of Nebraska Department of Roads. In 1977, the couple moved to Imperial, Nebraska, where Jack became the superintendent. Ina Mae and Jack have made Imperial their home until present. Ina Mae was employed in health care for many years, initially as a Licensed Practical Nurse and retiring from Chase County Hospital as an administrator. She was active and lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. Ina Mae enjoyed gardening especially raising flowers and was an excellent cook. Later in life she found a new talent in painting which she loved. Ina Mae was a fun loving and a genuinely nice person who placed everyone above herself, unless you were playing cards or marbles, then it was everyone for themselves!! Ina Mae passed away early Sunday morning, October 2, 2022, at the Imperial Manor Nursing Home, Imperial. She was 90 years of age. Ina Mae was preceded in death by her parents, grandson; Adam, and son-in-law; Laverne. Survivors Include: Husband: Jack of Imperial, NE Son: Mike Wilson and wife, Barb, of Des Moines, IA Daughter: Peggi Hatch of Elwood, NE Son: Kevin Wilson and wife, Julie, of Alliance, NE 6 Grandchildren 19 Great-Grandchildren Sisters: Edna Copp of Imperial, Nebraska Karen Richard and husband, Ted, of Grand Island, NE No visitation, Ina Mae’s wishes were for cremation. Memorial services will be held Tuesday morning, October 18, 2022, 10:30 A.M. (MT) at Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial, NE, with Pastor Scott Adle officiating.
