Jean Krings Hatfield, age 94, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 at her home in Lexington.

Jean was born August 4, 1926 in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska to Roy and Frances (Rutten) Fitzsimmons. She graduated from Cedar Rapids High school with the class of 1943. On September 17, 1945 she was united in marriage to Alfred F. Krings in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. To this union seven children were born; Linda, Glenn, Laurae, Dale, Roy, Jan and Tony. In 1947 the couple moved to Lexington.

Jean was a long time member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington, where she served on various church committees. She was an original member of the Penny Pinchers Extension Club, the American Legion-

VFW auxiliaries, a volunteer for the Red Cross Blood Mobile, where she was a twenty-one gallon donor. Jean enjoyed walking over to the Lexington Grand Generation Center and spending time with her friends.

After the passing of Alfred on February 7, 1995 she was united in marriage to Duane Hatfield on November 16, 2001. Duane preceded her in death on September 11, 2014.

Jean is survived by her children; Linda Albers of Kearney, Nebraska, Glenn and wife Mary Krings of Bellevue, Nebraska, Laurae and husband Frank Magana of Lexington, Nebraska, Dale and wife Lana Krings of Lexington, Nebraska, Roy Krings of Lexington, Nebraska, Jan and husband Jeff Wiley of Lexington, Nebraska and Tony and wife Martha Krings of Omaha, Nebraska; grandchildren; Lisa Campbell, Pam Albers, Amy (Sean) Morris, Chris Albers, Cheri Miller, James Minette, Dominique Magana, Tyler Krings, Andrew Krings, Kinsey Krings, Justin (Whitney) Wiley, Jennifer (Russ) Ulrich, Joel (Brittany) Wiley, Anne Marie (Jake) Emmerling, Joseph (Alyson) Krings, Colleen Krings and Elizabeth Krings; great grandchildren: Sara (Taylor) Hall, Tricia (Joey) Haun, Andy Witski, Alyssa Magana, Charlie Krings, Landon Wiley, Harper Wiley and Sloan Wiley; great-great grandchildren: Zeke Hall, Audrina Hall, Kierstin Penny, Adeline Haun and Marley Haun; one sister; Maxine Worley of Tilden, Nebraska; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Alfred and Duane; brother; Thomas Fitzsimmons; grandson, Larry Magana; and great-grandson, Aaron Albers.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington, NE with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 7, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington, NE with Father Matt Koperski, officiating.

The Mass will be live streamed on the Reynolds Love Facebook page.

Interment will be in the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Nebraska at 1:00 p.m.

Jean Krings Hatfield  (1926-2021)

Bonnie Lou Urling, age 84, of McCook, NE passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021 in Lincoln, NE.&nbsp;

Bonnie was born in Jennings, KS on December 21, 1936.&nbsp; She born to Dallas Vernon and Alice L. Geyer.&nbsp; Bonnie grew up in Jennings where she attended school, graduating from Jennings High School with the Class of 1954.&nbsp;

Bonnie married Wayne Reiners on February 17, 1957 in McCook where the couple made their home.&nbsp; Bonnie later remarried to Delbert Urling on January 4, 1967 in Sterling, CO.

Bonnie enjoyed playing bridge, reading a good book and shopping.&nbsp; She regularly attended McCook Christian Church.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; her brother, Ray Coleman; and one sister, Francis Bader.

Those left to celebrate her life include her children, Craig Reiners of Bartley, NE, Kelley (Dallas) Watkins of Kearney, NE and Cathy (Russ) Doyle of Lincoln, NE; three sisters, Margaret Hoffman of Hot Springs, AR, Nancy (Dave) Bristow of Springdale, AR and Marie Ellis of Salem, OR; as well as six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.&nbsp;

A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at the Memorial Park Columbarium in McCook, NE.

Ivan D. Oberg  (1957-2021)

John Clifford Sines, age 98, of McCook, NE passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at his home in Kinship Pointe, McCook.

John was born December 27, 1922 in Marian, NE to parents Guy B. and May A. (Lafferty) Sines.&nbsp; He was one of eight children born to this union.&nbsp; The family later moved to the McCook community where John attended school. Immediately upon becoming 18 years old, John left high school in January of 1943 and enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served his country during WW11, serving as Carpenter’s Mate second class (Petty Officer) responsible for below deck battle damage control on a Patrol Craft Escort Ship.&nbsp; His ship was assigned to anti-submarine patrol and escort duty off the California coast during 1944 and in the Philippine Islands area during most of 1945, with special duty as a landing force control ship during the Okinawa invasion. John earned his GED on board ship before being Honorably Discharged at the end of 1945 and is listed with the 1944 graduating class of McCook High School.&nbsp;

John married his high school sweetheart, Lois M. (McNeill) Sines on November 8, 1944 in Norton, KS while on leave prior to departing for the Western Pacific Theatre. Returning to McCook in 1946, the couple purchased a home on East 4th&nbsp;Street and began a yearlong remodeling project while raising three sons: Michael, Gary and Steve. John was employed by Otto Gas as their LP Gas technician for thirty-two years and managed the Propane operation for ten more years after the Kugler Oil Company acquired Otto Gas, retiring in 1986 after 42 years of employment.

John was an accomplished roller-skater, winning skate contests while in high school before the war, even taking his custom skates with him to skate in California while on liberties during the war. His love of roller skating continued for the rest of his life, searching for skating rinks was part of many family vacation trips. He spent many hours teaching and inspiring his boys, their friends and many Cub Scouts to skate, putting on his skates for the last time to teach and spin grandchildren a year or two before he reached 65.

John was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church as well as the local Lions Club and the Elks Club. He was also a lifetime member of the American Legion.&nbsp; John was a Boy Scout Volunteer for over forty-five years, serving as Cub Master and later Tri-Trails Council Leadership Training Chairman. He received the highest honor for volunteers, the Silver Beaver Award and watched all three of his sons reach the rank of Eagle Scout.&nbsp; John was also a MYF Sponsor, a District REA Director and volunteered at the McCook Area Food Pantry.&nbsp;

John was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois Sines; three brothers, Willis and Leonard Sines and an infant brother, Elmer Dee; three sisters, Norene Nicoll, Avis Haworth and Iris Troester; and a daughter in law, Deborah Sines.

Those left to celebrate his life include his sons, Michael (Ann) Sines of Pierre, SD, Gary (Janice) Sines of Jefferson City, MO and Steve Sines of McCook; brother, Paul Sines of Anchorage, AK; brother in law, Virgil Troester of Greeley, CO; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, and a special niece, Brenda (McNeill) Smith, Belleville, KS, who came to live with John and Lois as a child.

Visitation with family present to greet friends will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook, NE.

Bill Dean Carmin  (1963-2021)

Gerald Rudolph “Jerry” Spanel, age 66, of Broken Bow, Nebraska passed away May 2, 2021, after a lengthy battle with cancer.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Broken Bow, Nebraska with Father Jim Hunt officiating. Jerry attended Bell country school near Anselmo through the 7th grade.&nbsp; The family then moved to West Point, Nebraska, where Jerry graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1972.&nbsp; While attending Central Catholic, Jerry would make weekend and summer trips to Broken Bow to help on his sister Ruth’s farm.&nbsp; During one of these trips, Jerry met the love of his life, Ginger Hoobler.&nbsp; After graduation, Jerry attended Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska, and continued the weekend trips to Broken Bow, only now the help on the farm got less and less and the attention to Ginger got more and more.&nbsp; On January 3rd, 1973 Jerry and Ginger were united in marriage at St. Josephs in Broken Bow.&nbsp; Jerry and Ginger returned to Norfolk so Jerry could continue school.&nbsp; Jerry and Ginger returned to Broken Bow that summer so he could intern at Custer Public Power District.&nbsp; At the end of that summer, they welcomed the first of three daughters, Tammi.&nbsp; They then moved back to Norfolk and Jerry graduated the following spring.&nbsp; Upon graduation, the three moved to Alliance where Jerry worked for Panhandle Rural Electric.&nbsp; A year later, they moved back to Broken Bow where he started his career at Custer Public Power District. During this time, they welcomed their second daughter, Brandi, and third daughter, Annie.&nbsp; Jerry remained at Custer Public Power for the next 47 years and was awarded the Jack McEnerney Award.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Jerry was a man of all trades.&nbsp; He had a passion for fishing, hunting, camping, and the outdoor life.&nbsp; Rumor has it that Jerry was the reason Nebraska Game and Parks had to implement a fish bag limit.&nbsp; There was not a local auctioneer who didn’t know him as he loved attending auctions and returning with treasures, some unknown to Ginger.&nbsp; Jerry was a very skilled carpenter, mechanic, and electrician.&nbsp; His patience and attention to detail could be seen through the quality of his work.&nbsp; Jerry was an extremely mild tempered man who never lost his cool and could always be relied on for help.&nbsp; Jerry was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and was devoted to his faith his entire life.&nbsp; He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served many ministries for the church.&nbsp; Jerry was a member of the Broken Bow Elks Lodge #1688.&nbsp; Jerry and Ginger enjoyed many trips with friends.&nbsp; Jerry’s infectious smile was known to all whether they were lifelong friends or just met him.&nbsp; With all of Jerry’s interests and hobbies, his greatest passion was his Family.&nbsp; He loved family gatherings and playing a game of pitch or canasta with any of his children or grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Ginger, of 48 years; daughters - Tammi Spanel Campbell and friend Matt Gruszczynski, Brandi (Jeff) Oeltjen, Annie (Brian) Ridder, all of Broken Bow; 10 grandchildren - Hunter (Brittany), Traiven, Graycee, Skeeter, Brody, Bailey, Brock, Bowen, Braxton, and Paislee; and 2 great grandchildren - Kael and Cole.&nbsp; He is also survived by brother Fr. Hubert Spanel of Broken Bow; sisters Leona Graybeal of West Point, Mary Ann Coleman of Broken Bow, and Ruth (Darrell) Myers of Broken Bow; Sister-in-Law Penny (Don) Shultz of Grand Island, Julie (Jim) Turner of Broken Bow, and Kathy (Don) Province of Broken Bow; along with countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Rudolph and Agnes, In-laws Buzz and Betty Hoobler, brother-in-law Ivan Coleman, and brother-in-law Dick Graybeal.

Gerald Rudolph 'Jerry' Spanel  (1954-2021)

Jeanette Kilgore, age 79 of North Platte, Nebraska passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021, at Centennial Court in North Platte. Jeanette was born April 18, 1942, at Wallace, Nebraska, to Herbert Albert August and Eunice Irene (Pace) Hasenauer. She attended Wallace High School. She began her adult life by marrying DeWayne Dawson, and their union was blessed with three sons, Billy Lee, Tony, and Troy. The family frequently moved throughout the next several years as DeWayne served in the Air Force. Jeanette married John Robert Kilgore, Sr on December 2, 1972, at the Wallace Methodist Church. In 1985, the family moved to Dundy County, Nebraska where John pastored the churches at Benkelman and Max. He also pastored in his retirement in Maywood and Wellfleet. In 2017, Jeanette and John moved to Centennial Court in North Platte. Jeanette was a wonderful woman who found her own ministry while accompanying John. Ever a listening ear and a warm heart, Jeanette had a way of meeting people where they were in life and showing them grace and love. She was also a mainstay with the United Methodist Women. Jeanette went on to be director of the Senior Center and later cook at the school. She was so good at her job cooking that the mothers of the students often requested her recipes. She and her sisters eventually opened a cafe in downtown Wallace, The Fat Sisters Cafe. Jeanette had an appreciation for silly humor and had her unique way of marking special events with silly cakes and gag gifts; she made life fun. Jeanette was a collector of many things, most notably: crosses, dolls, salt &amp; pepper shakers, and Pinocchios. Jeanette was a wonderful mother and the best 'Granner' anyone could ask for. Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Kilgore; son, Billy Lee Dawson; son-in-law, Gary Pella; granddaughter, Elisabeth; brother, Clinton Hasenauer; and brother-in-law, Ed Weir. Jeanette Kilgore  (1942-2021)

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Melvin Dem Moore of Benkelman, NE, was born April 10, 1933 to Dem and Norma Thomas Moore at Oberlin, KS.&nbsp; Melvin lost his battle to cancer, May 1, 2021, surrounded by his loving wife, Margaret, and family. His last weeks on this earth were spent celebrating his life’s story, with friends and family members. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Melvin was raised on a farm at Cedar Bluffs, KS with his parents, along with his four brothers and two sisters. He attended school at Cedar Bluffs and then Oberlin, graduating from Decatur Community High School, in 1951. Melvin farmed along the Prairie Dog Creek in rural Decatur County, KS until his retirement and move to Benkelman. He loved farming with its sunrises, sunsets, rain or lack there-of, snow, the never-ending wind, new baby calves, “putting up” hay, planting and harvesting with all of the steps and challenges in between. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Melvin was first married to Dorothy Reith Moore, and to this union there were three children. Melvin met Margaret Jones at a singles dance in Oberlin and was immediately smitten. They married, November 25, 1995, and celebrated 25 years together last fall. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of the home; daughter Debbie (Mike) Nickels of McLouth, KS, son Brian (Heather) of Henderson, NV, step-son Darrel (Jo) Jones of Laramie, WY, step-daughters, Deb (Dan) Dennis of Loveland, CO and Diana (Jon) Maris of Wauneta, NE, and step son in law, Jim Mullinax of Benkelman, NE; grandchildren Emma Robertson of McLouth, KS, Justine Moore of Overland Park, KS, Sgt. Melvin Dem Moore  (1933-2021)

Gary John Anderson, age 76, of North Platte, NE died on November 29, 2020. He was born on August 26, 1944 in National City, CA to Ferera (Jackson) and Thrue Anderson. When he was young, the family moved to Upper Penninsula of Michigan. Gary attended school and graduated from Bergland, Michigan.

After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, spending most of his enlistment in Asia working as a jet mechanic. He was honorably discharged and stopped in North Platte, NE to see his grandmother. He never left because he didn’t want to shovel snow half of his life.

He did numerous odd jobs before opening Gary’s Comco on the corner of 4th and Jeffers. Gary had a gas station, sold cars, and a tow truck. He sold the shop and opened Gary’s Repair and U-Haul until his retirement in 2009.

In 1970, he married Roseann Sullivan, and to this union 6 sons were born. Rose preceded him in death in 1998. In 2000, Gary married Brenda Behsman.

Gary was a drag racer in his younger years. He loved the excitement, speed and noise of the track. His car was called, “Ole Nervous” because he would get excited and his legs would shake. He enjoyed racing in Kansas and Nebraska.

His favorite organization was the Platte River Sportsman’s Club. He was the 2nd member and was president for over 20 years. He loved public sight in day for the hunters, any shooting competition and the annual gun show. He and his friends did guard duty for years during the show or checking in guns. For several years, the club sponsored cowboy shoots. He loved getting into his cowboy gear and using his alias -Ole Nervous- to compete.

He was an avid motorcyclist and for years he rode with a group of men from Michigan in May. Over the years, he rode all over the United States. He loved putting on his leathers, straddling his Gold Wing, and heading out on a new adventure. In fact, it influenced his choice of ringtone, “Born to be Wild”.

After retiring, Gary turned his repair shop into a wood working/coffee shop. He made beautiful furniture and gifts for his wife, family and friends. Friends would gather at the shop daily for conversation. Gary, John Zahl, Jim Thompson, Al Kelly and more, would solve the problems of the world.

Gary loved cooking and baking. He was dubbed Gary Crocker by a friend and it stuck. Gary baked for the staff of the North Platte Public Library, family, and his coffee pals.

Gary touched many lives and will be missed by many.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Roseann; son, Tony; and a sister.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; sons, Jeff (Kathy), Alan, Danny, Chris (Tammy), and Ryan Anderson; daughter-in-law, Shurie; six grandchildren; four great granddaughters; four sisters and a brother.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, May 14, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with The Reverend Vidya Sagar celebrating.  </figure>Gary John Anderson, age 76, of North Platte, NE died on November 29, 2020. He was born on August 26, 1944 in National City, CA to Ferera (Jackson) and Thrue Anderson. When he was young, the family moved to Upper Penninsula of Michigan. Gary attended school and graduated from Bergland, Michigan.After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, spending most of his enlistment in Asia working as a jet mechanic. He was honorably discharged and stopped in North Platte, NE to see his grandmother. He never left because he didn’t want to shovel snow half of his life.He did numerous odd jobs before opening Gary’s Comco on the corner of 4th and Jeffers. Gary had a gas station, sold cars, and a tow truck. He sold the shop and opened Gary’s Repair and U-Haul until his retirement in 2009.In 1970, he married Roseann Sullivan, and to this union 6 sons were born. Rose preceded him in death in 1998. In 2000, Gary married Brenda Behsman.Gary was a drag racer in his younger years. He loved the excitement, speed and noise of the track. His car was called, “Ole Nervous” because he would get excited and his legs would shake. He enjoyed racing in Kansas and Nebraska.His favorite organization was the Platte River Sportsman’s Club. He was the 2nd member and was president for over 20 years. He loved public sight in day for the hunters, any shooting competition and the annual gun show. He and his friends did guard duty for years during the show or checking in guns. For several years, the club sponsored cowboy shoots. He loved getting into his cowboy gear and using his alias -Ole Nervous- to compete.He was an avid motorcyclist and for years he rode with a group of men from Michigan in May. Over the years, he rode all over the United States. He loved putting on his leathers, straddling his Gold Wing, and heading out on a new adventure. In fact, it influenced his choice of ringtone, “Born to be Wild”.After retiring, Gary turned his repair shop into a wood working/coffee shop. He made beautiful furniture and gifts for his wife, family and friends. Friends would gather at the shop daily for conversation. Gary, John Zahl, Jim Thompson, Al Kelly and more, would solve the problems of the world.Gary loved cooking and baking. He was dubbed Gary Crocker by a friend and it stuck. Gary baked for the staff of the North Platte Public Library, family, and his coffee pals.Gary touched many lives and will be missed by many.Gary is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Roseann; son, Tony; and a sister.He is survived by his wife, Brenda; sons, Jeff (Kathy), Alan, Danny, Chris (Tammy), and Ryan Anderson; daughter-in-law, Shurie; six grandchildren; four great granddaughters; four sisters and a brother.Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Friday, May 14, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with The Reverend Vidya Sagar celebrating. Gary John Anderson  (1944-2020)

Dona Margaret Herndon, age 89, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at&nbsp;Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte on May 1, 2021. Dona was born in the home of her grandparents, Ole and Myrtle Rasmussen,&nbsp;on October 19, 1931, to John and Olive (Rasmussen) Refior.&nbsp; She grew up&nbsp;in North Platte and graduated from high school in 1949. On August 29, 1950, Dona was united in marriage to Robert Herndon in North Platte where they made their home.&nbsp; Donna began working for Northwestern Bell Telephone in 1953 and worked as an operator until retiring in 1981. She was a member of First Christian Church and was active in various organizations including B.P.O. Does Drove #109, where she served as president in 1995 and 2005; Eagles Aeries Auxiliary #2839, where she was&nbsp;president from 2003 to 2006; Retired Telephone Ladies and Telephone&nbsp;Pioneers, where she had served as secretary since 1981. Dona Margaret Herndon  (1931-2021)

Dale Schwartz went to be with the Lord on April 28, 2021 at his daughter’s home in Lincoln, Nebraska. He was held in the loving arms of his family. Dale was born May 21, 1936 at Lodgepole, Nebraska, the oldest child of Fred and Ida (Richter) Schwartz. His siblings were: Glen Schwartz of Oshkosh, NE, Gene Schwartz of Nashua, MT, and Donna Poturalski of Colorado Springs, CO. 

Dale started farming at age 5. He had to have wood blocks tied to his feet to reach the pedals. Through eight decades, he saw family farming move from horse-drawn equipment and steam engine driven threshing to satellite guided combines and corporations. A tireless worker and innovative thinker, he was able to adapt farming practices to make a sand patch yield a successful life. The oldest of four, Dale naturally had heavy responsibilities. After 9th grade, he became indispensable on the farm, but he was tickled to complete his GED in the months prior to his youngest daughter’s own high school graduation. 

Dale was drafted for the Vietnam War into the US Army infantry in 1959. He was stationed in Ft. Ord, CA where he made lifelong friends, ran the motor pool, received marksmanship commendations and was honorably discharged. His military experiences inspired a lifelong interest in armaments. He collected guns, reloaded bullets and delighted to find new ways to be rid of prairie dogs. 

On September 9, 1962, he married his best friend and love of his life, Bina Cool. Bina and Dale had three children: Eric, Anita, and Carla. 

Dale spent his life tending to animals, crops, machinery and family. His mechanical ability contributed to his success. He regularly regaled family at the dinner table with accurate sound effects to describe valve, exhaust or other engine issues. He spent one summer under a baler with a city fella sent from the manufacturer. His input was crucial to the development of an improved design. He also built or rebuilt motorcycles, cars, trucks, tractors, implements and even created a purple “gopher getter.” Undaunted by a mechanical problem, he often exercised his expertise for stranded motorists. It wasn’t uncommon to be delayed for hours on trips out of town while he helped someone along the roadside. A tireless worker and innovative thinker, he was among the first farmers to plant dryland beans in the valley, and he pioneered growing sunflowers in Garden County. He became a corn seed dealer and planted experimental seed plots for ACCO. If he wasn’t in the field, or under an engine or car hood, he enjoyed nature. 

When he could get away during short summers, he water-skied, boated or fished on the lake or at a secret fishing spot on the Platte River. In the fall and winter he trapped and enjoyed goose hunting. Nothing was more beautiful to him than a winter landscape dotted with Canadian geese. 

He was the apple of his mother’s eye and lived a life of integrity, but he had an independent streak. He wasn’t disinclined to trespass for asparagus or poach the occasional out of season deer if need be. He mostly delighted in minor disobedience. Against his wife’s wishes, he once signed up his daughter for bull riding at the rodeo. He bought his girls Tonca trucks and capguns and taught them to shoot and ride motorcycles. In July he acquired illegal fireworks and showed his daughters how to explode empty cans and containers. 

Friendly and service-minded, he was active in church. He harvested the evergreen boughs for the holiday Smorgasbord for the Lutheran church fundraiser and manned the coatroom every year. The tangle of 100's of hangers stored in the hay mow would be faithfully organized and volunteers would be eager to answer his call. In later years, he would work the Table of Grace, sorting and hauling groceries to cars for people who were often younger than him. Dale also enjoyed helping his mother and her friends to church each week. 

After the death of Bina, Dad’s soul mate and the love of his life, Dad’s spark faltered, but he kept busy -- he also kept his children, nephews, and neighbors busy -- selling, sorting and moving to town. He always did like a project. Even after he went to live with his daughters, he continued to garden, plant and putter, enjoying birds and flowers and collecting exotic seeds to take back to his beloved prairie. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, son, parents and brothers.

 He will be dearly missed by his daughters: Anita (Mike) Schwartz of Lincoln, NE and Carla (Daniel) Vanderford of Seale, AL; by his grandsons: Tristan (Taylor) Krauter of Lincoln, NE; Aaron Vanderford of Seale, AL; Isaac Schwartz of Seale, AL; Spencer Leach of Lincoln NE; and by Troy Schwartz of Dickens, NE; his sister Donna (Rich) Potolralski as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. 

Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, May 4th, 4-6 p.m. Mountain time at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, NE. 

Funeral services for Dale will be at 10 a.m. Mountain time, Wednesday, May 5th, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, NE with Brenda Tophoj, P.M.A. officiating. Interment will follow at the Oshkosh Cemetery with Military Honors by the Keith County Honor Guard.

Dale S. Schwartz  (1936-2021)

Fred Howard, age 89, of Sargent, Nebraska passed away surrounded by his loving wife and kids on April 30, 2021.&nbsp; Fred was born December 29, 1931 to Edward and Wilma (Loghry) Howard in Loup County, Nebraska.&nbsp; He attended grade school at Lookout District 26 and graduated from Taylor High School in 1949.

Fred was drafted into the Army in February 1952 and spent eighteen months in Germany.&nbsp; He was honorably discharged in February 1954.

On June 9, 1956, Fred married Darlene Nelson, the love of his life. They spent the first seven years in Loup County and in May 1963, they moved to their present home west of Sargent.

Fred was a farmer and employed at Koupal and Barstow Lumber.&nbsp; Later, he also did carpentry work.

Fred is survived by wife, Darlene; two sons and one daughter, Larry (Mary) Howard of West Point, NE, Ron (Kathy) Howard of North Platte, NE, and Linda (Dave) Mack of Omaha, NE.&nbsp; Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Christopher (Andrea) Howard of Lincoln, NE, Marisa (Dirk) Bargen of Columbus, NE, Bryce Howard of Tempe, AZ, Jordan Howard of North Platte, NE, Shawnae (Nathan) Vieyra of North Platte, NE, Carington Howard of North Platte, NE, Jennifer Mack of Omaha, NE, and Ryan Mack of Omaha, NE; and two step grandchildren Sheila DeGarmo and Rusty (Deedra) DeGarmo of North Platte, NE; five great grandchildren Brooklynn and Lucas Howard of Lincoln, NE, Declan and Ryla Bargen of Columbus, NE, and Gia Vievra of North Platte, NE; and four step great grandchildren Porter Thomas, Billie, Mackenzie, and Gavin DeGarmo of North Platte, NE; brother-in-law Alvin (Marcelyn) Nelson of Littleton, CO and their family; sister-in-law Rosemary Nelson of Elyria, Nebraska; sister Lila (Dennis) Dunbar of Torrington, WY, sister-in-law Nelva Howard of Taylor, NE; and numerous other relatives and friends, especially neighbors, Curt and Betty Sillivan.

Fred enjoyed being with family, gardening, and playing cards at Senior Citizens and Fun Night, always making the coffee.&nbsp; During Fred’s battle with cancer, he enjoyed reading many books.

Fred Howard  (1931-2021)

Mervin Carl Zysset, age 85 of Farnam, Nebraska passed peacefully at Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington, Nebraska on April 29, 2021.

Mervin was born at home in rural Frontier County, Nebraska on February 17, 1936 to Carl and Aurie (Buker) Zysset. He was the third of eight children. He started grade school in a rural school south of Eustis and completed grade school at Hiltop District across the road from the home place. He attended high school at the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis, Nebraska, graduating in 1953.&nbsp;

After graduation he moved to Colorado and worked for a short time before moving back to the farm. On August 22, 1954 he married Illa Jo Hosick in Curtis, Nebraska and to this union four children were born. They lived and worked on the farm for a year before moving back to Colorado where he began working road construction. They lived in several places in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah before moving back to the farm in 1961. He had many stories to tell about his years in construction including helping pave Wolf Creek Pass. Farming and raising cattle were his number one passion. He was a very involved community member and served on many boards including the Farnam Coop Board, Frontier County Fair Board, Cambridge School Board, Nebraska Charolais Board and the Soil &amp; Water Conservation Board. Serving on some of these boards as well as selling seed corn provided them the opportunity to visit several places including Hawaii and the Bahamas. He was the recipient of the Aksarben Good Neighbor Award and donated the first Charolais calf for the Omaha World Herald's 13th annual Name the Calf Contest at Aksarben. He enjoyed playing town team basketball and baseball. He was a baseball coach for several years and built a baseball diamond at the farm that was enjoyed by many.&nbsp;

Mervin was a very creative person and designed many things including a covered wagon that saw many miles on wagon train adventures. He always had a way to improve something if he could just weld this to that. He spent a lot of time breaking horses and loved to drive a team of horses. He took his wagon to the State Hand Husking competition at Gothenburg. gave rides on his wagon for several years at Sod House days at the Eustis School and the horse and buggy was enjoyed by many at Old Fashion Saturday Night in Cambridge, some proms and numerous weddings including the wedding of most of his grandchildren.

Mervin Carl Zysset  (1936-2021)

Carol Lynn McFadden, age 53, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on May 10, 1967, in Hobart, Oklahoma, to Gregory and Beverly Ann (Hunn) Miller. At a young age, Carol’s father passed away and her family moved to Greensburg, Kansas, where she attended school. During this time her mother remarried Gale Juel and she was adopted by Gale.

Following high school, Carol worked for her mother at Bev’s Pizza and Pasta Restaurant. She was united in marriage to Murray McFadden on May 7, 1988, in Mullinville, Kansas. To this union the couple were blessed with three children: Cody, Ryan and Tawny. The family moved to Lexington, Nebraska in 1998. Although their marriage would later end, they remained very close. Carol would spend the next seventeen years as manager at the Fill-N-Chill in Lexington. She then went on to be the office manager for her son, Ryan at McFadden Automotive.

While living in Lexington, Carol reconnected with an old friend from school and found love again with Tim Brozek. After years of traveling back and forth from Kansas, Tim bought a house in Overton, Nebraska, where they just recently resided.

Carol was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking for her family, baking cookies with her grand baby's, and was the best hostess. She loved listening to music, attending concerts and an occasional Jager Bomb. She stayed active fishing and snow skiing with the boys, shopping with the girls and just having a Girls Day getting pampered. Carol was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and collected a variety of things which included, Pepsi, Wizard of Oz and bears. Carol always put her kids and grandkids first and always loved attending the kids events.

In 2019, her son Cody lost his wife unexpectedly and Carol dropped everything. She moved in with her son and grandchildren. She was so supportive and did everything she could. She was a true hero. For those who knew Carol, can attest to the love she had for her family. Family meant the world to her. She has left a tremendous legacy of love.

She leaves to celebrate her life, her children, Cody McFadden(Khelsey Rubenthaler), Ryan (Julie) McFadden and Tawny McFadden, all of Lexington, NE; soulmate, Tim Brozek, of Overton, NE; ex-husband, Murray McFadden of Lexington, NE; eight grandchildren: Michael McFadden, Avah Rubenthaler, Aydrien Ramirez, Natalie McFadden, Sophie McFadden, Noah, Isaac and Sean Galvan; step-parents, Gale (Rhonda) Juel of Mullinville, Kansas; siblings, Teresa Jones of Grand Island, NE, Leah Brown Koehn of Dodge City, KS and Justin (Cathryn “Kat”) Juel of Dodge City, KS; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her grandparents “Grandma Hunn an BoBo”, her parents, Gregory and Beverly; step-dad, Kenny Brown; daughter-in-law, Ashlea McFadden; brother-in-law, Nolan Koehn and nephew, Jeremy Jones.

A Celebration Of Life Service will be on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Reverend Anne Gahn, officiating. The service will be livestreamed via the First United Methodist Church website.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, Nebraska.

Interment will be at Robb Cemetery, south of Lexington, Nebraska.

Carol Lynn McFadden  (1967-2021)

Shirley Blank, age 91, a longtime resident of McCook, Nebraska passed away Tuesday evening, December 15, 2020 at her home in McCook.&nbsp; She was born on April 1, 1929 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Ludwig and Jeanette (Kugler) Gauger of Eustis, Nebraska.&nbsp; She was confirmed and baptized in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis.&nbsp; Shirley attended Eustis public schools and graduated in 1947, after graduation, she attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln until 1950.

Shirley was united in marriage to Lavern Blank on July 23, 1950 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis.&nbsp; The marriage was blessed with two children, David and Jean.&nbsp; After Vern’s graduation as a geologist they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and in 1951 they moved back to Lincoln, Nebraska where Vern was accepted into the University’s Dental School.&nbsp; For the next four years, Shirley worked at the University of Nebraska Lincoln Legislature and Corps of Engineers.&nbsp; After Vern’s graduation in 1956, the couple moved to McCook where he started his dental practice.&nbsp; Shirley was active in community affairs.&nbsp; She taught Sunday School, was a Den Mother and 4-H leader, a member of PEO Chapter FA and Memorial United Methodist Church, and worked as secretary to United Fund.

In 1984, Shirley started a mail order business of “Nebraska Baskets” promoting Nebraska foods.&nbsp; After much research and help from the University of Nebraska Lincoln Food Processing Center, Economic Development and Food Industry Association, the business grew and she opened a shop in downtown McCook.&nbsp; Her business at one point was cited as one of the top small businesses in Nebraska by NE Heartland Development.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Vern Blank; her sister, Mary Jean and husband, Gale Millholen; and her brother, Louis K. Gauger.

Survivors include her son, David Blank and Sharon of Breckenridge, Colorado; daughter, Jean Solomon and husband, John, of Mountain Home, Arkansas; grandsons: Jake Solomon of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Sam Solomon and wife, Ashley and children, Jake and Jocelyn of Fort Smith, Arkansas; brothers-in-law, Dr. Don Blank and wife, Jan of Lincoln; and Ugene Blank and wife, Marge of Franklin, Nebraska; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Private family graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska with Pastor Jeff Kelley officiating.&nbsp;

The family invites friends to share a time of remembrance and fellowship at Shirley's&nbsp; house from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, May 6, 2021.

Shirley Blank  (1929-2020)

Paul Daniel Schluckebier, age 50, of McCook, NE passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at the Omaha Veteran's Hospital in Omaha, NE.

Paul was born March 2, 1971 in Stratton, NE.&nbsp; He grew up in Omaha, NE and graduated from Roncalli Catholic High School with the Class of 1989.

Following high school, in 1991, Paul enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1993.&nbsp; He moved to southwest Nebraska as a young adult.&nbsp; Through the years, he held a variety of different jobs, and most recently worked for BNSF railroad.

Paul was a gun enthusiast who enjoyed hunting, fishing and the great outdoors.&nbsp; He never knew a stranger and loved spending time with people, especially his family and friends.&nbsp;&nbsp;He never missed “Deer Camp” at his favorite place on earth, his grandparents farm in Palisade, Nebraska.

Paul was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Jose Perez  (1957-2021)

Dorothy Louise Fugate, of North Platte, Nebraska, peacefully passed away at home&nbsp;with her family by her side on April 28, 2021, at the age of 83.&nbsp; She&nbsp;fought a long, hard battle with cancer with courage, dignity and grace,&nbsp;never complaining and always had a smile on her face. Dorothy was born August 16, 1937, one of six children born to Emily Margaret and William Jerome Doyle, an Irish Catholic family in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; She graduated from St. Patrick's High School then married&nbsp;Buster Lee 'Bud' Fugate on June 12, 1956, in Julesburg, CO, and became a&nbsp;mother to five children. Dorothy was a strong woman who accomplished so much during her lifetime.&nbsp; At a young age she became an entrepreneur, delivering the Omaha World Herald and collecting pop bottles then used her money to buy&nbsp;all the candy she could eat for a dime!&nbsp; Years later she was the licensed director and owner of Winnie the Pooh Preschool where, for 34 years, she prepared young children for kindergarten, and was the first female U.S. Postal Service mail carrier in North Platte. When her kids were young, she was active in 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and the Lincoln County Fair and was a lifetime member of the PTA.&nbsp; Dorothy also enjoyed volunteering in the community with R.S.V.P. and was&nbsp;a member of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Posse and St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Dorothy's love for cooking began when she was young, making old-fashioned fudge, then evolved into cooking from scratch and creating&nbsp;new dishes including Chimichangas and Irish cream chocolate cake.&nbsp; One&nbsp;recipe, Japanese Oyster Peanut Chicken, earned the Grand Prize in the&nbsp;N.P. Telegraph cooking contest. Dorothy always made delicious meals for&nbsp;her family and enjoyed having tea parties with her grandchildren.&nbsp; Along&nbsp;with cooking, Dorothy was an avid gardener who enjoyed preserving her&nbsp;harvest. Dorothy was not one to sit home.&nbsp; She enjoyed the camaraderie of her early morning Cardiac Rehab coffee club, competed in over 200 5K races and triathlons, with the Jingle Bell 5K being her favorite, and twice carried the torch for the Cornhusker State Games through North Platte.&nbsp; When she was in her 60's Dorothy was active in kick boxing and roller blading then earned her Second Degree Black Belt in To-Shin-Do after the&nbsp;age of 70.&nbsp; But more than anything Dorothy loved to dance, especially square dancing and would drive anywhere just to dance. She loved her family and was a fan of Daniel O'Donnell (internationally known Irish country singer) who after seeing him in multiple concerts, became her friend.&nbsp; Daniel personally serenaded Dorothy with "When Irish&nbsp;Eyes Are Smiling" after she finished 30 rounds of radiation and just before she passed away, he sang to her "Far Banks Side of Jordan", her favorite song. Along with her family and friends, Dorothy dearly loved her handsome Golden Retriever, Rolly, who was her faithful, loyal companion.&nbsp; He went everywhere with her, waited patiently for her to finish her 5 a.m. workouts and comforted her after every cancer treatment. Dorothy will be greatly missed, forever loved and remembered for her always being quick with a smile and a joke.&nbsp; Her doctors described her as a ray of sunshine with a bright, luminous presence and as a woman with a radiant smile that lit up the room and despite being deprived of her speech, she said so much with her smile. Mary Ann Jorgenson, age 69, of Hershey, passed away at Linden Court on&nbsp;Wednesday, May 6, 2020.

Mary Ann was born October 31, 1950, to Wesley Frederick and Barbara&nbsp;Yvonne (Smith) Hansen at North Platte where she grew up.&nbsp; After&nbsp;graduating from high school in 1968 she went on to receive her&nbsp;Bachelor's Degree in Education from Kearney State College in '72.&nbsp; Mary&nbsp;Ann then taught third grade at Hershey Public Schools for the next five&nbsp;years.

Mary Ann joined the Hershey community when she married Kip Jorgenson on&nbsp;April 12, 1974, at Maria Lutheran Church.&nbsp; They made their home in&nbsp;Hershey where they owned Home Lumber and Supply and were blessed with&nbsp;two children, Michael and Amy. Once she became a mother, Mary Ann stayed&nbsp;home to raise the kids.&nbsp; After they were grown, she went back to&nbsp;teaching third graders at Hershey.&nbsp; She loved teaching and cared for&nbsp;each of her students.&nbsp; At the age of 58 Mary Ann was diagnosed with&nbsp;Alzheimer's and eventually retired from the job she loved.

She was an active member of Maria Lutheran Church where she served on&nbsp;the board and council.&nbsp; In her free time, Mary Ann enjoyed doing yard&nbsp;work and took great pride in her baking.&nbsp; She also loved pets and was a&nbsp;hard worker.&nbsp; Mary Ann will always be remembered as a great wife, mother&nbsp;and homemaker whose house was always clean.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Barb Hansen;&nbsp;in-laws, Virgil and Gladys Jorgenson; and her special dog, Max.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Kip, of Hershey; their children,&nbsp;Michael Jorgenson (significant other, Shelia Meeks, of Hickman, and Amy&nbsp;(Jay) Walton, of Omaha; grandchildren, Maeli and Noah; brother, Tom&nbsp;(Linda) Hansen, and sister, Pam (Al) Short, all of North Platte;&nbsp;sisters-in-law, Shirley (Fred) Krejci, of Springfield and Tricia (Steve)&nbsp;Rosno, of Lincoln; as well as many other family members.

Mary Ann Jorgenson (1950-2020)

Gerald Dean Hein, age 81, of McCook, Nebraska passed away at his home on Saturday, September 26, 2020. He was born in Ft. Morgan, Colorado on December 19, 1938 to Harry and Freida (Hein) Hein. Gerald’s mother passed away when he was young. The family returned to southwest Nebraska, to Culbertson, in 1941. Gerald attended country school and later graduated from Culbertson High School in 1957.

On May 19, 1999, Gerald was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Barbara (Smith) Erdkamp.

Gerald was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad as a conductor and other duties on the Denver to Lincoln run for 25 years. His passion was fishing. He made many trips to Swanson Reservoir and Ogallala to fish for Walleye, but was just as happy to catch crappie or bass. It was said Gerald would go to the tackle shops and buy all of the lures that were catching fish, just so no one else could use the same lure. He also enjoyed making sinkers in his spare time. He was a member of the McCook Elks and Peace Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Freida; step-mother Hannah; mother-in-law: Mildred Frick; stepson: James Holmes; stepbrother: Kenneth Baumfalk; step brother-in-law: Gary Mills; brother-in-law: Don (Rosemarie) Smith; sister-in-law: Alice Smith.

Donald “Don” Leslie Ruggles, age 62, of McCook, NE passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Kearney Regional Hospital in Kearney, NE.

Don was born September 19, 1958 in McCook to parents Leslie Thomas and Donna Mae (Berry) Ruggles.&nbsp; He was one of three children born to this union.&nbsp; Don attended school at Republican Valley, graduating with the Class of 1976.&nbsp;

On January 22, 1984, Don married the love of his life, Theresa Jane (Orvis) Ruggles in Las Vegas, NV.&nbsp; The couple was blessed with four children.&nbsp;

Don enjoyed a life of farming, trucking and most of all, family.&nbsp; He especially enjoyed the many family trips to the Rocky Mountains and Mid West as well as several trips to Cancun and an Alaskan cruise. His hobbies included coyote hunting with a good set of greyhounds, golfing and drumming with McCook Christian worship teams where he was also a member.&nbsp; Don served on the HRW Irrigation Board and was a past member of the McCook Elk’s Club.&nbsp; He was an avid sports fan, supporting his children grandchildren’s many events over the years.&nbsp; Don was a member of many town team basketball games at the YMCA.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Don was preceded in death by his parents; two brother in laws, Jim Bobinmyer and Doug Hauxwell; niece, Kathy Hauxwell-Emrich; and two infant nephews.

Those left to celebrate his life include his wife, Theresa Ruggles of McCook; children, Luke (Leah) Ruggles and Landon (Hailey) Ruggles, all of WaKenney, KS, Lesley (fiancée Adam Kruger) Ruggles of Omaha, NE and Lauren (Clayton) Skolout of McCook; five grandchildren, Kaiden, Krayton, Kristen, Camlyn and Paisyn; as well as numerous extended family members and lifelong friends.&nbsp;

Visitation with family present to greet friends will be on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook, Nebraska.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at McCook Christian Church, 507 West B Street in McCook, NE.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.

 </figure>Donald “Don” Leslie Ruggles, age 62, of McCook, NE passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Kearney Regional Hospital in Kearney, NE.Don was born September 19, 1958 in McCook to parents Leslie Thomas and Donna Mae (Berry) Ruggles.&nbsp; He was one of three children born to this union.&nbsp; Don attended school at Republican Valley, graduating with the Class of 1976.&nbsp;On January 22, 1984, Don married the love of his life, Theresa Jane (Orvis) Ruggles in Las Vegas, NV.&nbsp; The couple was blessed with four children.&nbsp;Don enjoyed a life of farming, trucking and most of all, family.&nbsp; He especially enjoyed the many family trips to the Rocky Mountains and Mid West as well as several trips to Cancun and an Alaskan cruise. Donald 'Don' Ruggles  (1958-2021)

Hannah Hageman, age 97, of Cambridge, Nebraska, passed away at the Sarah Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman, Nebraska on November 10, 2020. She was born in Holbrook, Nebraska on May 1, 1923 to Charles and Mary Frances (Neel) Odell. She moved to Cambridge when she was in the third grade.

On July 17, 1940, she married Frances “George” B. Marts in Norton, Kansas.&nbsp; To this union three children were born:&nbsp; Jimmy Lee, Mary Francine, and Robert Allen.&nbsp; She and George farmed north of Bartley, Nebraska before moving into town in 1959.&nbsp; He preceded her in death on November 9, 1971. She later married Roy Hageman on October 31, 1975, adding Roy’s children to the family:&nbsp; Robert, Sheila, and Jeff. Roy preceded her in death on June 25, 2003.

Hannah worked side by side in Roy’s construction business.&nbsp; Together they built the round houses west of Cambridge. Hannah moved to McCook, Nebraska in 2011 to Highland Park and in 2019 to the Sarah Hester Memorial Home in Benkelman, Nebraska.

Hannah loved to cook, make jellies, play cards, embroider, and spend time with family. She bartended and cooked at The Rocket Inn of Indianola, NE. She and her cousin, Eva, would go fishing around the area together, and Hannah, not being bashful, would move right next to whoever was catching fish. She had an infectious smile and laugh. &nbsp;She and Roy traveled throughout the continental United States, making their way to all 50 states in their motor home. The couple took many trips to Europe, seeing sites in Italy, Spain, England, and Ireland.

Hannah was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary; husbands, George and Roy; son, Jimmy Lee; grandson, Christopher; sister, Lottie Rogers; five brothers, George, Frank, Sam, Jim, Harold.

Hannah is survived by her son, Robert and wife, Tina Marts of Bartley, NE; daughter, Frani and husband, Jerry Chambers of McCook, NE; two step-sons, , Bob Hageman and wife, Linda Hageman of Colorado, Jeff Hageman of Omaha, NE; step-daughter, Sheila and husband, Kenny Colson of Cambridge, NE; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-children; 4 great great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Ronald Dale Schleeman, Corporal U.S. Army, age 81, of Maxwell, NE passed away, April 25, 2021, at his home in Maxwell. He was born on August 4, 1939, near Stockville, Ne to Richard and Bessie Schleeman.

He attended country schools around Curtis and Stockville until his 8th&nbsp;grade, and graduated from UNSTA in Curtis in 1957. Ron then entered the U.S. Army in October 1958 where he served most of his tour in Germany. He married Regina Cox, to this union Lori and Rodney were born. Later he married Gerri O’Connell.

In 2018 Ron moved to Maxwell, NE to be near his family.Ron loved to golf and do yardwork, he was an avid card player, loved to haggle, always looked for a “good deal” and enjoyed going to garage sales. He had numerous dogs that were all named “Buddy”, except for one which was “Friday”.Ron is survived by daughter, Lori (Casey) Meyer, Maxwell, NE; son, Rodney Schleeman, Maywood, NE; two granddaughters, Kylee Meyer, Sarah (Christopher) Borden; grandsons, Jack Meyer, Tyler and Zack Schleeman.He is preceded in by his parents; brother’s Marvin and Darwin; sister, Jean; infant son Richard Daniel and grandson Jacob Daniel Meyer.Memorials can be made to Maxwell Fire and Rescue.
