Gary grew up in Leota, Kansas and graduated from high school. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He was united in marriage to Marilyn J. Troy Douglas Horton, age 54, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on November 5, 2020.&nbsp; He was born to Dallas &amp; Shirley (Schaefer) Horton on October 11, 1966 in Calgary, Canada.

Troy graduated from Fort Collins High School in Fort Collins, Colorado.&nbsp; He then graduated from CSU with a bachelor's degree in marketing in 1991 and continued on to spend two years in Australia.&nbsp; He was a lifelong rancher at Split Rock Ranch in Wyoming.

Troy married Jennifer Benzel on January 1, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada.&nbsp; He became a father to Jenny's two sons, Cody and Taylor, before having another son together, Dustin.

Survivors include his wife, Jenny, of North Platte, Nebraska; son, Dustin (Abby) Horton of Lincoln, Nebraska; step-sons, Cody Haney of North Platte, Nebraska and Taylor (Bridget) Haney of Omaha, Nebraska; a sister, Rosanna Horton; brothers, Trent (Kristen) Horton and Travis (Kim) Horton.

Janice Marie Berglund, age 77, of North Platte, Nebraska died at Great Plains Health in North Platte on November 9, 2020, with her family by her side. Janice was born at North Platte to Howard and Edwina (Niesen) Layher on December 28, 1942.&nbsp; She grew up in Stapleton, Nebraska where she graduated from high school, then started working.&nbsp; Janice worked as a telephone operator and then later at the Wagon Wheel Tavern. On November 18, 1961, Janice married Terry Lynn Lovitt and to this union four children were born.&nbsp; The family lived in Stapleton and Janice and Terry eventually bought the Wagon Wheel Tavern.&nbsp; After owning it for 22 years, the tavern was sold and Janice worked as a cook for Stapleton Public Schools for 14 years. In 1998 Janice moved to North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; She managed Buffalo Bill High Rise and there she met Carl Berglund, Jr.&nbsp; They later married on October 12, 2002.&nbsp; Janice worked until retiring a few years ago. Janice loved her family and helping others.&nbsp; She was a 4-H leader when the kids were young, President of Nebraska Cooks Association, and member of Extension Twilight 12, the Altar Society and S.H.A.R.P.&nbsp; She loved her family, especially her grandkids, and loved attending their various activities for as long as she could. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Berglund, Jr.; and her parents, Howard and Edwina Layher. Janice Marie Berglund  (1942-2020)

Janice Darnall, age 87, of Eustis, Nebraska passed away November 8, 2020, at the Cozad Hospital in Cozad, Nebraska.&nbsp; Janice was born on November 21, 1932, in York, Nebraska to George and Neva (Troxel) Jenkins.

On December 3, 1948, she married Dale Darnall at the Jenkins home in Cozad, Nebraska.&nbsp; She lived in Eustis, Nebraska until 2014 when she moved to the Golden Living Center in Cozad, Nebraska.

Janice was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Sharing Hour. She was also den mother for the local scouts for many years.

She enjoyed decorating for holidays, especially for Christmas, and baking and delivering trays of holiday cookies to family and friends.&nbsp; For many years Janice also hosted a Christmas tea for friends in Eustis.

Janice loved to travel with Dale and they enjoyed visiting every town in Nebraska and camping in their RV.&nbsp;

Janice was proceeded in death by her parents; twin sister Jean; and husband, Dale.

Janice is survived by her children, Rick (Nancy) Darnall of Irvine, CA, Gary (Kathy) Darnall of New Berlin, WI, Bryan (Deb) Darnall of Plum Creek, NE, Brenda (Gary) Davis of Farnam, NE and Jay (Rita) Darnall of Eustis, NE; sister, Marion Blades of Independence, MO; sister’s-in-law, Jean Darnall, Norma Darnall and Bonnie Casper; 14 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.&nbsp;

Janice Darnall  (1932-2020)

Sylvia “Gayle” Taylor was born September 2nd, 1943 in Atkinson, Nebraska, to parents Frank W. and Kathrine E. Richards. She passed away on November 3, 2020 surrounded by her husband and all of her children at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 1 day.

Over her lifetime Gayle lived in may locations across Nebraska, but she called Atkinson, NE her home while growing up.&nbsp; Grand Island, NE, her home while going to Beauty School, and then Broken Bow, NE which was her long-time home for 58 years.&nbsp; Nearly 50 of those years were spent raising her children in the house that she built together with her husband on South H Street. In the summer of 1959, at just 15 years old she met the love of her life, Duane Taylor, when she was in Broken Bow, Nebraska with her family for the summer while her father’s company fulfilled a construction project in the area. Then less than four years later, on a beautiful sunny and warm November 4th,1962, when they were just 19 and 24, they married. She was just 1-day shy of celebrating 58 years of marriage to her dearest husband.

Gayle attended Atkinson High School through her early teens, graduating in 1960. She then attended Grand Island Beauty School where she graduated and then worked at salons in Atkinson and O’Neil, Nebraska before opening the Doll-Up Beauty Salon in March 1963, which she owned and operated until 1991.&nbsp; She had many long-time customers and loved helping them look their very best. In addition to being a business owner she was the Chief Operating Officer at home and the office manager for Taylor Construction until she retired in 2007.

A lover of flowers, Gayle had an extensive collection of nearly 100 roses along with many other types of flowers surrounding her home.&nbsp; In addition to taking care of her own flowers, Gayle tended to the roses at the Methodist Church. She was always willing to explain where to cut the flowers and what to use to keep them safe from bugs and disease. Her love of nature also included any kind of wildlife.&nbsp; Each day she would feed birds and squirrels in her backyard and watch the African Safari via webcam at night with her many friends from around the world. One of her favorite parts of going to the Rocky Mountains each year was seeing a variety of animals on the way.

She was dedicated to her husband, children and adored all her 13 grandchildren. &nbsp;For over forty years she enjoyed snowmobiling vacations with her husband Duane in the Rocky Mountains where they made many great friendships. &nbsp;Gayle and Duane relished many great experiences with the children and grandchildren on joint vacations to places like Yellowstone Park, Back Hills, Branson, Las Vegas, Gulf Shores and San Antonio. &nbsp;Watching her kids and grandkids at their games, matches and meets was always something she enjoyed. She was always there, no matter if it was local games, state championships or national NAIA championships halfway across the country.&nbsp; Gayle was always there to help out when there was work to do.&nbsp; She would grab a paintbrush to help prepare a nursery, plant flowers to brighten up her kid’s homes, stack wood when finishing a basement and then always whip up great eats to insure everyone was feed.&nbsp; A family get together was never complete without Grandma’s famous chocolate cake with homemade frosting and some of her homemade ice cream.

Fiercely loyal and protective, Gayle Taylor put her family and friendships before all else in life. She would go without so that others could have, she would give her last breath before seeing someone she loved suffer.&nbsp; Never would she let someone be at home sick or in the hospital alone, she would drop everything to be there, for the day, week, month or more.&nbsp; And no matter what time of night or early morning, she was available to talk and or listen to insure you stayed awake.&nbsp; She was a guardian angel to so many, way before she became a real angel.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Katherine Dvorak.

 She is survived by her husband Duane Taylor; sons, Stacy (wife Angela, sons-Austin &amp; Connor) Taylor, Monte (wife Renee, sons Jackson (Abby), Quintin &amp; daughter Kaelyn) Taylor; daughters, Michelle (husband Randy, sons-Nolan, Hayden, William &amp; daughter Kathryn) Grint, Janelle (husband Jon, sons-Garrett, Wyatt, Grant &amp; daughter Gretchen) Seagren; and sister, Kay Meier, and brother, Richard (Stephanie) Dvorak.

The family will have a private service Saturday morning, November 14th, 2020, followed by a Celebration of Life open house at Duane and Gayle’s home, located at 241 South H. Broken Bow, NE from 11:30 am till 5:30pm. Memorials may be sent to the family for Roses at the United Methodist Church in Broken Bow.

Phyllis Ann Green  (1940-2020)

William (Bill) Eugene Weber, age 80 of Culbertson, Nebraska was born April 29, 1940 in Palisade, Nebraska to William Theodore Weber and Beaulah Lorraine (Edgett) Weber.&nbsp; Bill passed away on November 6, 2020.

Bill spent his childhood at the family home near the Hitchcock / Hayes County line in Nebraska where he attended school in in a one room school house. Family was engaged in farming and ranching and Bill learned the skills of what would be a large part of his adult life. After attending Culbertson High School, Bill joined the United States Air Force achieving the rank of Airman 1st Class – E3.&nbsp; He served honorably until December of 1959.&nbsp; While serving at Beale Airforce Base in Northern California he met the love of his life Susan Jean (Dethlefsen) and they were married in June of 1960 in Marysville CA. Bill worked as a farmhand around Wheatland CA.&nbsp;

In June of 1961 the couple was blessed with a daughter Ronda Lea followed by a son William Theodore in December of 1962.&nbsp; Around this time the family moved to Roseville, CA and Bill got a job working on the new dam across the North Yuba River at Bullard’s Bar. Short while later the family moved to a 5 acre farmstead in Rio Linda, CA. The house provided room for the family to stretch out and provided a wealth of adventures for his young children and their cousins.&nbsp; Bill continued his construction career working on projects around northern California in places like Antioch.

Following the death of his brother, Richard, in 1970 the family returned to Culbertson, Nebraska so Bill could assist his father in the operation of the family farm. Bill also did custom hay work for many of the farmers around Culbertson with his Heston Stackhand as well as other work as it came.&nbsp;

After selling the family farm Bill operated a farm near Blackfoot, Idaho growing wheat, barley and potatoes.&nbsp; This meant he had to learn a whole new crop and the ins and outs of the potato business.&nbsp; It also meant many trips back and forth between Nebraska and Idaho for him and the family during the summers.&nbsp; Bill made many friends in Idaho during this time that lasted many years after he returned to Nebraska.

During this period the family was joined by three nephews: James, Aaron and Scott Walker. The family lived in a small house on the west edge of Culbertson.&nbsp; Though crowded, it was full of love and provided the younger boys a base of adventure for many hunting expeditions. After a few years Bill and Susan would move the family across town to Wildman Street to a larger house. During this time he also started a gravel business, B&amp;B Gravel, out of Palisade, Nebraska.&nbsp;&nbsp;After selling the farm, Bill &amp; Susan purchased the old Thompson’s IGA building in Culbertson.&nbsp; They turned this into the Bear Cave Bar &amp; Grill, a much needed business in the small village.&nbsp; The Bear Cave provided a meeting and gathering place for people across the eastern part of Hitchcock county.&nbsp;Bill followed this enterprise with creating a trucking company, Bill Weber Trucking, that specialized in small loads of hotshot freight.

Bill was known by many to be a good friend and a helping hand when needed. He spent many days in the outdoors hunting and fishing or teaching his children, nephews and grandchildren how to shoot, hunt and fish.&nbsp; He enjoyed this more than anything as it was his way of teaching lessons in hard work and the reward of a job well done.&nbsp;

Proceeded in death by his son William T. (Billy), daughter-in-law Jodie (Tessendorf), father William, mother Beaulah, infant brother Douglas, brother Richard Lee, sister Barbara Jane Ozbun and sister Imogene Lorraine (Jehorek) Beisner

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Susan; his daughter Ronda (Erdman) and friend Joe Bunnell of Palisade, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Brock Erdman and wife Amy of Copperopolis California, Nicholas Erdman and wife Tina of Culbertson, Nebraska and Abraham Weber and wife Taylor of Culbertson, Nebraska; and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Mildred Brady of Albuquerque, NM,&nbsp; Lillian Tucker of Wichita Falls, TX and Darleen Henderson of&nbsp; Omaha, NE; as well as many nephews, nieces and close friends

William "Bill" Eugene Weber  (1940-2020)

Murray&nbsp;Schad, age 82, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, November 6, 2020, at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska, from Covid-19.

Murray was born September 6, 1938, to Ambrose 'AF' and Ida Schad in Gothenburg, Nebraska. During World War II, the family moved to Portland, Oregon, while AF worked in the ship yards. When they returned to Gothenburg, AF and Marvel opened a heating and plumbing business and Murray attended school until 9th grade when the family moved to North Platte.

Murray attended North Platte High School and was involved in track. He graduated in 1956 then attended Doane College for a year before transferring to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where he became a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity.

While working at Lennox Furnace Industry in Marshalltown, Iowa, Murray met Maris Collins. They were married at Central Christian Church in Marshalltown on November 25, 1960, and returned to Lincoln and UNL. In June 1961, the couple moved to North Platte where their daughter, Stacey, and son, Steven Murray, were born. Murray and Maris would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary in 2020.

Murray worked in his parents' heating and plumbing business, managed the family owned Cedar Lodge Motel, and eventually joined Jack Hupfer's Scott Abstract and Insurance business. Murray studied for and became a real estate agent, then broker. He opened Schad Real Estate and Insurance Agency then was joined by Gil Wilkinson in the Schad-Wilkinson Century 21 Agency and later gained Jim Ryan and Steve Jewell as partners in Schad, Ryan &amp; Jewell Insurance Agency. Murray was an Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska.

He was an avid outdoors man who loved to hunt, fish, and golf with friends and family. He loved fishing with ultralight fishing tackle and making his own lures. Murray's passion for hunting pheasant and quail over his German shorthair pointers was another joy of his life. He always found time to hunt turkey, deer and geese. After Murray introduced the family to trapshooting, Steve and Maris joined in the sport and they enjoyed traveling the country together.

Murray was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Aaron.

He will be missed by his wife, Maris of North Platte; daughter, Stacey of Frederick, CO; son, Steven Murray of Omaha, NE; grandson, Dr. Tatum Murray (Rachel) Schad of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter, Andrea (Rob) Ham and great-grandchildren, Daphanie, Aadon and Landon Ham, all of North Platte, NE; sisters-in-law, Janice Schad of North Platte, NE and Jan Elledge of Ames, IA; as well as his nieces, nephews and other family.

In keeping with Murray's wishes, cremation was chosen and due to social restrictions, services will be at a later date. The memorial book may be signed online at odeanchapel.com or at Odean Colonial Chapel at C &amp; Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements.

Murray Schad  (1938-2020)

Mildred L. “Mickey” Hundley, age 93 of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 in Omaha.

She was born on September 24, 1927 at her paternal grandparents farm home in Johnson County, Kansas to Alonzo “Buck” Jess and Norma May (Reynolds) Ambler.

She lived in the Hesper, Kansas area till 4th&nbsp;grade when the family moved to the outer edge of Lawrence, Kansas, where she attended India School through 8th&nbsp;grade then graduating from Liberty Memorial High School in Lawrence, Kansas.

On June 2, 1946 she married Overton E. Hundley, Jr. in Lawrence, Kansas. They lived in San Diego, California while Overton finished up four years in the Marine Corps after which they lived in Lawrence while he went to college and transferred to Manhattan for Veterinary School. In August, after graduation in 1952 they moved to McPherson, Kansas and then to Lexington, Nebraska where they lived until moving to wonderful Johnson Lake in Nebraska.

Mickey was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and served as a Deacon several terms which she enjoyed and substituted as Sunday School teacher when her children were young. She also taught Brownie Scouts, and Mickey with Doc were Associate Guardian and Guardian of Jobs Daughters. She was a member of the Nebraska Veterinary Medical Auxiliary and President in 1974. P.E.O. was very important in her life and served in all offices for two years.

Mickey and Doc spent many winters in a warmer climate where they enjoyed a lot of tennis and golf when Nebraska weather didn’t cooperate with these games. They always looked forward Supper Club with their close friends. Mickey felt blessed and enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She’s was always known as Nana or Nannie to many. Mickey always had a table of food available for guests that would drop in. Her pleasures in her later years were traveling with widow friends to a few resorts, eating out and playing bridge. All of her friends and neighbors have been so very helpful and wonderful throughout the years. Mickey cherished each and every one!

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Hundley (Yanc Aden) of Lexington, Nebraska; granddaughter, Dani Jo (Dustin) Zeigler of Gretna, Nebraska; step-grandchildren, Casey (Tricia) Aden and Dr. Brandon Aden; great-grandsons, Grant and Nicholas Zeigler; step-grandsons, Dominic, Connor and Everett Aden; sister-in-law, Doris Johnson of Lawrence, Kansas and Zora Belle Hundley of Overland Park, Kansas; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Overton “Doc” Hundley in 2007; son, David and two brothers-in-law, Ed Hundley &amp; Raymond Johnson.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor Eddie Mariel, officiating. The service will be livestreamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, Nebraska.

Barbara Ruth Sherlock, age 84, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died&nbsp; November 5, 2020 at Gothenburg Health.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Barbara Ruth was born on October 3, 1936, in Farnam, NE. She was the middle child of Elma and Clifford Nickerson. Barb attended Farnam Public School, graduating with the class of 1954. She attended Kearney State College and received her Bachelor's Degree in Home Economic Education in 1957. Barb began her teaching career in Franklin, Nebraska. She taught in schools in Kansas, Colorado, and finished her teaching career in Brady, Nebraska. Barb was a life-long educator, retiring in 1998. She still continued to substitute for several years in Brady and Maxwell, Nebraska.

Barbara married Philip Sherlock on August 20, 1966, in West Minster, CO. Barb and Phil lived in Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska eventually settling in Farnam. After Phil’s death, Barb moved to Gothenburg. Barbara enjoyed spending time with friends and family especially her nieces and nephews. She loved doing crafts, sewing, and always enjoyed a good book. She enjoyed lunches with friends old and new at the Senior Center.

Barb was preceded in death by: parents, Clifford and Elma Nickerson; husband, Philip Sherlock; brother, Clifford "Nick" Nickerson; and sister-in-law, Pearl Nickerson; sister Madeline "Madie" Widick; nephews, Brad Nickerson and Clinton Nickerson.&nbsp;

Barbara Ruth Sherlock  (1936-2020)

Dixie D. Thompson, age 77, of Cozad, Nebraska formerly of Elwood, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Emerald Nursing Home and Rehab in Cozad.

Dixie was born August 13, 1943 in Lexington, Nebraska to Walter and Leona (Welliver) Renker. She attended school in the Lexington School system. On May 21, 1962 she was united in marriage to Buzz Jorges in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, and to this union two daughters were born: Stephanie and Ambra. The couple would later divorce. In 1971 she was united in marriage to Bob Perkins and to this union one daughter, Melissa, was born.

Dixie had lived in Elwood, Holdrege Sidney and Cody areas in Nebraska. When in the Elwood area, she had worked at the Eagles Club and the Blue Lounge, she had also managed Lakeside Country Club at Johnson Lake. In 1995 she purchased the Long Branch Bar in Arthur, Nebaska which she owned for eleven years until it burnt down. After the fire she moved back to Elwood then to Holdrege and then in 2017 she returned to Elwood to be near her daughter, Melissa.

Dixie loved laughing, making memories with friends and family including camping and traveling. Dixie loved people and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Melissa and husband Tom Martin of Elwood, Nebraska; one brother, Glen“Buddy” Renker of Lexington, Nebraska; grandchildren, Alexa (Andrew) Chrisinger, Manon Martin, Hadley Martin, Jacei Spangler, Micki Kramer, Jodi Marshall, Shaton Arellano, Chase Hackbart, Kolden Hackbart, Zach Hackbart and Tyelon Hackbart; great-grandchildren, Kealy Kocembia, Kayden Kramer, Kamry Kramer, Kyan Kramer, Mia Gifford, Tyce Hackbart, Reagan Chrisinger, Maecyn Chrisinger, Hayden Chrisinger, Ace Chrisinger and Stella Hackbart; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews and many friends.

Dixie is preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Ambra Marshall and Stephanie Hackbart; one granddaughter, Destiny; one brother, Robert “Cobbie” Renker, three sisters: Janice Eaton, Phyllis Fravel and Katherine Woodhead and a very special friend Barbara Peterson.

Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor Rex Adams officiating. The service will be livestreamed via the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home Facebook page.

Dixie D. Thompson  (1943-2020)

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;DeLores Ann "Dee" Taylor was born on May 20, 1930 to Edward and Dora (Nordhausen) Denker on their farm south of Wauneta, Nebraska.&nbsp; Dee was baptized, schooled, confirmed and married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church out on the South Divide. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Dee's childhood revolved around church and family.&nbsp; The Nordhausen and Denker clans were a prodigious group of Greman immigrants that resulted in a multitude of cousins with which to spend time with.&nbsp; Most Sundays after church lead to a family gathering at one of the relative's farm.&nbsp; In later years, attendance at the tri-annual Nordhausen Happening was not to be missed.&nbsp; Most people don't know that the family spent part of a year (in the mid-1930's) in New York City, where Dee attended a Brooklyn school. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On October 16, 1949, Dee married a fellow South Divider named Jim Taylor.&nbsp; Dee and Jim spent the first dozen years of their marriage on the original Hartzer (Taylor) homestead in the beautiful frame house that still stands today (claimed now by the Bartel's Family). &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;While living on the homestead, they engaged in farming and childbearing that resulted in three girls and a son:&nbsp; Cindi Sue, Lorna Lou, Doreen Dru, and Joshua D.&nbsp; No more children were required after the "ten pound boy" came along. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;After several successive years of unfortunate weather events, Jim decided to look for greener pastures to give a try.&nbsp; That led to a move onto a farm on the Stink'n Water Creek north of Hamlet, Nebraska.&nbsp; A true Huck Fin experience for the kids, but Dee was a bit taken back by the available residence. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Dee's work ethic was legendary, and she put it to good use cleaning and organizing the shack on the Stink'n Water Creek and turned it into a livable space for the family, but the effort was continuous.&nbsp; Though a small house, Dee could make it accommodate a gathering of many relatives.&nbsp; After 10 years, Jim and Dee moved closer to Hamlet and built a newer 'modern' home.&nbsp; That work ethic kept the new house meticulous, the large farmyard fabulously manicured and Jim well dressed. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Whereas Jim had his John Deere, Dee had her Singer sewing machine.&nbsp; she spent hours sewing, working her magic with thread and needle making clothes for her stylish daughters and other household items.&nbsp; Jackie O would have been jealous. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Having the grandkids visit was always eventful and brought them a lot of joy.&nbsp; During their retirement, Dee and Jim enjoyed golfing (Dee was the better player) and traveling.&nbsp; Dee lived in her modern house until 2012, at which time she moved to Imperial Heights Assisted Living in Imperial, Nebraska.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Faith and family were everything to&nbsp; Dee.&nbsp; Being of German Lutheran stock set the foundation for her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord, which she handed down to her children.&nbsp; Missing church was not an option, no matter the conditions:&nbsp; rain, snow, wind hail, or muddy rutted roads were no match for this stubborn German girl.&nbsp; She was dedicated to Jesus to the core and to her last breath. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On the afternoon of November 5, 2020, at the age of 90, Jesus came calling.&nbsp; She now rejoices with Him in Heaven with the hosts of saints, and is surely reunited with all those cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who also leaned on Jesus. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Dee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; her brothers and their spouses: Donnie and Joanne Denker, Kenny and Cleophia Denker; her little sister and her husband, Diann and Dean Widger; and her daughter-in-law, Deborah Taylor. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She is survived by her children Cindi (George) Hallett of Imperial, Nebraska, Lorna Taylor of Wauneta, Nebraska, Doreen (Gary) Mohr of Enders, Nebraska, and Josh Taylor of Hamlet, Nebraska; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and cousins. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;This is the day the Lord has made.&nbsp; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Dee's funeral service will be on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. MST at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 233 South Arapahoe St, Wauneta, Nebraska officiated by Pastors David Kahle and Keith Willman.&nbsp; Dee's casket will be open before the services.&nbsp; Interment will follow at Wauneta's Riverside Cemetery. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The family has suggested no flowers, but memorials to the Mercy Meals of Southwest Nebraska and KNGN Lutheran Radio of McCook. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Online condolences may be left at LiewerFuneralHome.com.

 </figure>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;DeLores Ann "Dee" Taylor was born on May 20, 1930 to Edward and Dora (Nordhausen) Denker on their farm south of Wauneta, Nebraska.&nbsp; Dee was baptized, schooled, confirmed and married at St. Paul's Lutheran Church out on the South Divide. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Dee's childhood revolved around church and family.&nbsp; The Nordhausen and Denker clans were a prodigious group of Greman immigrants that resulted in a multitude of cousins with which to spend time with.&nbsp; Most Sundays after church lead to a family gathering at one of the relative's farm.&nbsp; In later years, attendance at the tri-annual Nordhausen Happening was not to be missed.&nbsp; Most people don't know that the family spent part of a year (in the mid-1930's) in New York City, where Dee attended a Brooklyn school. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On October 16, 1949, Dee married a fellow South Divider named Jim Taylor.&nbsp; Dee and Jim spent the first dozen years of their marriage on the original Hartzer (Taylor) homestead in the beautiful frame house that still stands today (claimed now by the Bartel's Family). &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;While living on the homestead, they engaged in farming and childbearing that resulted in three girls and a son:&nbsp; Cindi Sue, Lorna Lou, Doreen Dru, and Joshua D.&nbsp; No more children were required after the "ten pound boy" came along. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;After several successive years of unfortunate weather events, Jim decided to look for greener pastures to give a try.&nbsp; That led to a move onto a farm on the Stink'n Water Creek north of Hamlet, Nebraska.&nbsp; A true Huck Fin experience for the kids, but Dee was a bit taken back by the available residence. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Dee's work ethic was legendary, and she put it to good use cleaning and organizing the shack on the Stink'n Water Creek and turned it into a livable space for the family, but the effort was continuous.&nbsp; Though a small house, Dee could make it accommodate a gathering of many relatives.&nbsp; After 10 years, Jim and Dee moved closer to Hamlet and built a newer 'modern' home.&nbsp; That work ethic kept the new house meticulous, the large farmyard fabulously manicured and Jim well dressed. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Whereas Jim had his John Deere, Dee had her Singer sewing machine.&nbsp; she spent hours sewing, working her magic with thread and needle making clothes for her stylish daughters and other household items.&nbsp; Jackie O would have been jealous. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Having the grandkids visit was always eventful and brought them a lot of joy.&nbsp; During their retirement, Dee and Jim enjoyed golfing (Dee was the better player) and traveling.&nbsp; Dee lived in her modern house until 2012, at which time she moved to Imperial Heights Assisted Living in Imperial, Nebraska.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Faith and family were everything to&nbsp; Dee.&nbsp; Being of German Lutheran stock set the foundation for her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior and Lord, which she handed down to her children.&nbsp; Missing church was not an option, no matter the conditions:&nbsp; rain, snow, wind hail, or muddy rutted roads were no match for this stubborn German girl.&nbsp; She was dedicated to Jesus to the core and to her last breath. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On the afternoon of November 5, 2020, at the age of 90, Jesus came calling.&nbsp; She now rejoices with Him in Heaven with the hosts of saints, and is surely reunited with all those cousins, aunts, uncles and friends who also leaned on Jesus. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Dee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; her brothers and their spouses: Donnie and Joanne Denker, Kenny and Cleophia Denker; her little sister and her husband, Diann and Dean Widger; and her daughter-in-law, Deborah Taylor. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She is survived by her children Cindi (George) Hallett of Imperial, Nebraska, Lorna Taylor of Wauneta, Nebraska, Doreen (Gary) Mohr of Enders, Nebraska, and Josh Taylor of Hamlet, Nebraska; and numerous nephews, nieces, grandchildren and cousins. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;This is the day the Lord has made.&nbsp; Let us rejoice and be glad in it. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Dee's funeral service will be on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. MST at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 233 South Arapahoe St, Wauneta, Nebraska officiated by Pastors David Kahle and Keith Willman.&nbsp; Dee's casket will be open before the services.&nbsp; Interment will follow at Wauneta's Riverside Cemetery. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The family has suggested no flowers, but memorials to the Mercy Meals of Southwest Nebraska and KNGN Lutheran Radio of McCook. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Online condolences may be left at LiewerFuneralHome.com.

Bill Ray Bigbee was born April 18, 1936 at the family farm near Wilmore, KS. He was the fourth of five children born to Ray E. and Esther (Ferrin) Bigbee. He passed away on November 4, 2020, at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, NE.

Bill’s early childhood years were spent on the family farm in Wilmore where he began learning to farm. His schooling for the first two years was at Ridge Summit, a country school near their home, which then consolidated with Wilmore Grade School. In November 1942, Bill’s mother passed away. His father married Zenith Roderick (who loved Bill and his siblings as her own) in May 1948 and the family moved to a farm north of Merna, NE. During that move, Bill (age 12) helped drive a straight truck and put in the first corn crop by himself while his dad went back to Kansas to harvest wheat. Their first winter was a rude welcome to Nebraska as they endured the Blizzard of ’48. Bill finished grade school at a country school a few miles southeast of their farm. All through high school and three years following, he worked on Saturdays at Davolt's Grocery in Merna. Bill graduated in 1954 from Merna High School. After completing his education, he continued farming with his father.

On August 11, 1957, Bill was united in marriage to Phyllis Myers at the Lillian Church of Christ. They made their home north of Merna, NE for a short time, before moving west of Broken Bow where they were engaged in farming and ranching. It was here that they were blessed with five children: Carolyn, Jeanette, Kathy, Mike, and Linda. Their first land purchase was the Bates farm in the Lillian community. When Bill’s dad retired in 1975, Bill and Phyllis were able to purchase his dad’s original farm north of Merna. In 1994, Bill and Phyllis built a home on the northwest edge of Broken Bow, continuing with farming and ranching until his death.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A longtime member of Lillian Church of Christ, Bill was baptized in November of 1966. He was a part of the church board for several years, served on the school board of Prairie Hill District #74 most of the years his children were in grade school, and was a director on the Broken Bow Cooperative Marketing Association Board for many years.

In addition to being a successful farmer/rancher, Bill was mechanically gifted. He was able to repair, build, or modify nearly anything to solve a problem. A special project he was pleased to accomplish, with the assistance of a grandson, was restoring his 706 International tractor. He was able to use it in some tractor pulls and the Merna parade, pulling a “Bee-hive” trailer filled with his entire family. He also enjoyed pasture rides, especially when using his 4-wheeler with the wagon he built for giving rides to his grandchildren.

Highlights of the last few months include a surprise revealing of the restoration of his first tractor (a 1955 300 Farmall completed by a grandson), a big gathering at the farm with most of his family attending, and being able to participate in several days of harvest.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Phyllis, of 63 years; children, Carolyn (Jeff) Warren of Norfolk, NE,&nbsp; Jeanette (Rusty) Parker of Norfolk, NE, Kathy (Dan) Smith of Pleasant Hill, IA, Mike (Tania) Bigbee of Arnold, NE, and Linda Mosel of Merna, NE; eighteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry Bigbee; and sister-in-law, Joan Myers.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother; infant brother, Richard Bigbee; sisters, Norma (Willard) Johnson and Joan (Bill) Lyddon; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Darlene Bigbee, Ruth Lea (Ray) Flannery, and Rex Myers.

Bill always enjoyed a good laugh. Even as he endured all the medical procedures in his last few years, he was ready with a quip or joke. We recall with fondness his teasing, especially of the children in his family, including nieces and nephews, and his practical jokes. We will miss him, but are thankful for his legacy of grit, hard work, and humor.

Bill Ray Bigbee  (1936-2020)

Trevis Glenn Kraus passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020 in Cozad at the age of 42.&nbsp; Trevis was born on January 1, 1978 in North Platte, Nebraska to Ronald &amp; Judy (Malcom) Kraus.&nbsp; He was the youngest of their four children.

Trevis attended Cozad Community Schools and earned his GED in 1996.&nbsp; Trevis held a variety of jobs throughout his life, but his favorite seemed to involve working on different farms in the community, truck driving as well as beekeeping.

Trevis had two dogs, Blue and Duke, that he cared for deeply.&nbsp; He took care of them as if they were his children.&nbsp; Fishing was his favorite pastime.&nbsp; At family gatherings, he loved to tease and play with his nieces and nephews - most of all, schooling them in the latest video games!&nbsp; He also loved to cook for people when he could, finding the hottest sauce in the house to spice it up.&nbsp; Oh, the look on his face when you had a spare bottle of Tabasco with a few beers to go.&nbsp; Trevis was a big kid at heart who had quite the sense of humor, and fairly strong opinions about the world and what goes on around it - he would be sure you were listening.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Trevis was a cancer survivor, but was taken away from us way too soon due to a heart attack.&nbsp; Although we mourn the loss here on Earth, we know Trevis stood on the Solid Rock of Faith which anchored his soul through every battle.&nbsp; He had his fair share of challenges, but knew God never left his side.

Trevis was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald &amp; Judy Kraus, and two infant brothers.

Trevis is survived by his older brother, Toy Kraus (Angel) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; sister, Tawnya Jackson (Jeff) of Cozad, Nebraska; and sister Traci Wall (Jeff) of Johnson Lake, Nebraska; nieces Brittany Minor (James) of Whidbey Island, Washington, Brooke Kraus of Owasso, Oklahoma, Brielle Kraus of Glenpool, Oklahoma, Ronelle Jackson of Columbus, Nebraska, Karissa Jackson of Cozad, Nebraska, and Ahnika and Addison Svajgr of Johnson Lake, Nebraska; nephew Alex Svajgr of Johnson Lake, Nebraska; great nephew Alexander and great niece Caleigh Minor of Whidbey Island, Washington; and great nephew Brixton Troy Hamm of Glenpool, Oklahoma.

Memorials are suggested to the family in his name for later designation.&nbsp; Cremation was chosen.&nbsp; There will be no book signing.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 6, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel, 620 East 22nd Street, Cozad, Nebraska.

Ronald Maurice "Mose" Hebbert age 90 of passed away on November 2, 2020 at the Box Bute Hospital in Alliance.

Ronald Maurice “Mose” Hebbert was born March 29, 1930 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Alliance, NE.&nbsp; His parents were Albert and Ima Fern (Shepard) Hebbert.&nbsp; Mose was the oldest of five children. He was raised in the Sandhills of Nebraska in the Gordon and Ashby area, and he attended high school at the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture at Curtis, NE, graduating with the class of 1948. It was here he met the love of his life, Merla Lenore Rex. On September 18, 1949, they were married in Hyannis, NE.&nbsp; Mose and Merla started out their married life working with Merla’s parents, Merle and Opal Rex on what is now the Hebbert Charolais Ranch. Mose and Merla had five children, all of whom helped on the ranch as they grew up.&nbsp; Mose and Dave began raising Charolais cattle and hold a yearly bull sale in the spring.&nbsp; This past April marked the 38th&nbsp;annual sale.

Mose grew up riding and working with horses.&nbsp; He started haying at the age of six on a horse drawn scatter rake.&nbsp; He fed hay using work horses until the early 1980’s. Mose was a Gold Card member of the Nebraska State Rodeo Association and was a member of the Senior Pro Rodeo Association, competing in the team roping event.&nbsp;&nbsp; In 1972, he was the Runner up Team Roping Champion in the Nebraska State Rodeo Association, winning the Nebraska Finals Rodeo TR average that year, partnering with his son, Dave. &nbsp;Mose and Merla attended a variety of events in support of their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, as well as anyone else they knew who were competing. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Mose was honored as a Legacy Breeder by the American Quarter Horse Association, for having raised Quarter Horses for 50 consecutive years. He was a recipient of the Sautter Memorial Award and was inducted into the Sandhills Cowboy Hall of Fame. He loved his mares and liked to watch the offspring become successful ranch and arena horses.

Mose was a quiet, gentle, honest, and kind man who touched many lives. He was a friend to all, young and old. He embraced humor, with a twinkle in his eye, and loved wholeheartedly.

Mose is survived by his wife of 71 years, Merla. Daughters Toni Knott of Arthur, Terry Wilson of Hastings, Cheryl (Jim) Sheets of Mullen, Tami (Pat) Taylor of Seneca, and daughter-in-law Mickie Hebbert of Hyannis. Grandchildren Matthew (Lacy) Hebbert, Jake Hebbert, Joshua Hebbert, Sami Knott, Jennie (Dan) Dyer, Jessie Knott, Chelsie Wilson, Randi (Mark) Jensen, Travis (Randus) Sheets, 17 great grandkids and one great-great grandson. He is also survived by his brothers Roger Hebbert, Gary (Charlene) Hebbert, brother-in-law Jerome Clemens.

Mose was preceded in death by son David, son-in-law Mick Knott, infant grandson Michael Knott, granddaughter Tessa Wilson, brother Gene Hebbert, sister Pinky Clemens.

A visitation and life celebration will be held on Thursday November 5, 2020 at the Hebbert Sale Barn in Hyannis, NE from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM MT.&nbsp;

Burial will be at a later date at the Hyannis Cemetery.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On October 29, 2020, H. Cory Hock, 64, passed away due to a recently diagnosed medical condition. Cory was born on May 30, 1956 and lived most of his life in Denver, Colorado. Yet it was fitting that he passed away in Imperial, Nebraska, his favorite hunting and fishing “honey hole.” &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He attended Emmaus Lutheran School during his younger years, then Lutheran High School for one year, and completed his education at North High School. He was an accomplished builder and had the skill to fix just about anything. Cory took pride in working very hard to support his family, and he completed his successful career as a Construction Superintendent in which he won many safety awards. Throughout his career, Cory assembled a significant crew of loyal coworkers who enjoyed working for him because of the care he demonstrated on and off the jobsite. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;An avid hunter and fisher, Cory was an adventurous outdoorsmen at heart. He looked forward to leaving behind the crowded city and spending time surrounded by God’s creation with a few close family members or friends. He patiently taught others how to appreciate these hobbies, and successfully planted a passion for fishing and exploring in the hearts of his grandsons, Judah and Eli. During his retirement, Cory volunteered his time as a park ranger, kept the many bird feeders in his backyard well stocked, beautifully restored antique firearms, and spoiled his grandsons as often as possible. Cory had nicknames for everyone and everything, and he connected with many through his silly sense of humor. We cherish the funny memories he has left us with. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Cory is survived by Kris Hock, to whom he was married for 40 years, his daughter, Jessica Albin (Lance, Judah, and Eli), and his son, Jared Hock. Additionally, his loving sisters, Jodi Garmatz (Joe) and Jill Sheyko (Russ), who unconditionally supported him, especially during the last months of his life. Cory was preceded in death by his parents, Dyanne Hock Bennett and Fredrick William Hock (Bill), and his nephew, Jeff Cox. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;An outdoor celebration of Cory’s life will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 3pm at Crown Hill Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. H. Cory Hock  (1956-2020)

Vivian Illene “Bee” Hansen, age 72 of North Platte, Nebraska passed away November 3, 2020 at her home.

Bee was born on March 29, 1948 in Arnold, Nebraska to Frank and Winnie (Hughes) Cassell.

Bee graduated from Stapleton High School in Stapleton, Nebraska. On August 7, 1966 she married Marvin A. Hansen in Stapleton. The couple moved to Moorefield, NE and worked for Kenny and Wilma White. In 1971 they moved to North Platte for Marvin to attend the Voc-tech. They moved to Oberlin, Kansas where they owned and operated Hansen’s Plumbing and Heating for over 40 years. After retirement they moved back to North Platte to be closer to their family.

Bee was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church.&nbsp; She spent a number of years sending quilts that she made overseas, as a part of the church group. She loved working in her yard and spending time with her grandchildren. Everyone that knew her was convinced they were the most important person in her life.

Survivors include her sons, Mark (Cammie) Hansen of Castle Rock, CO, and Michael (Nancy) Hansen of North Platte; grandchildren, Kaycie (David) Naglowsky of Castle Rock, CO, Sydnee Hansen of North Platte and Alex (Charity) Hansen-Nomads, Max Hansen of Kearney, Britlyn Hansen and Brandon (Roxy) Kailey all of Castle Rock, CO, and Cody Wright and Cole Wright both of North Platte; great-grandchild, Aerick Naglowsky; sisters, Kathy Hansen of Moorefield, and Janey Jacobson of Wolbach; sisters-in-law, Velda Cassell of Stapleton, Artis Hansen of Brady, and Norma Lee Hansen of Superior; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Larry Sheets of North Platte.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Bill Cassell; sister-in-law, Ella Lenz; brothers-in-law, Judd Lenz, Harley and Thorval Hansen; and a nephew, Jim Bob Cassell.

Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 at Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte, NE with Pastor Job Vigil officiating. Burial will follow at McCain Cemetery. Visitation will be held noon – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
