Gerald&nbsp;Eichstedt, age 82, of Hershey, passed away January 28, 2023, at Bickford Assisted Living in Grand Island, NE after health complications.

Gerald was born in York to Clair and Helen Eichstedt on August 17, 1940. At a young age the Eichstedt family moved to North Platte. Here is where he grew up and graduated from North Platte High in 1959.

Gerald was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1963. While stationed in Colorado Springs, he met his future wife, Sylvia Kosley, and they married on September 11, 1965. They made their homes in many places as he worked construction but in 1968 he began working for the Union Pacific Railroad in the yards at North Platte. This is when they made Hershey their permanent home. He retired in 2002.

He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing, and being with his dog (which he had numerous labs though the years). He loved his family and lending a hand anywhere needed. He could fix absolutely ANYTHING and if he didn't know how he would figure it out!

He was proceeded in death by his parents; father-in-law John Kosley; mother-in-law, Margery Engle; brothers-in-law, Jerry Kosley, Charles Kosley, Hal Smith and Jim McDonald; and sister-in-law, Vicki Smith.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sylvia of Grand Island; daughters, Gerri (Frank) Collins of Marquette, Gwen (Brian) Oyler of Cimarron, KS and Glinda (Wes) Rasmussen of Aurora; his close companion, Sam the yellow lab; grandkids, Cody Collins, Caitlin Collins, Camden Collins, Aaron (Sarah) Oyler, Ashtyn Oyler and Gentri Rasmussen; great-grandkids, Bristal and Tatum Collins; his sisters, Shirley Eichstedt and Claire Eichstedt of North Platte; sisters-in-law, Pat Kosley of Colorado Springs and Virginia McDonald of Meadows Place, TX; cousins, Janet (Duane) Phillippe of Lexington and Marcia Jo (Kent) Stubbendieck of Wadsworth, OH; his life- long friend, Joe Fisher; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation was chosen. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. March 10, 2023, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Pastor Mark Baldwin officiating. Inurnment with military honors will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. Family will be present an hour before services to visit with friends at Odean Colonial Chapel at C &amp; Sycamore, which is in charge of arrangements. Gerald Eichstedt (1940-2023)

Beatrice Roberts, age 58, passed away late Thursday evening, February 16, 2023, at the Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.

She was born December 5, 1964, at Mora, Minnesota, the daughter of 
Roy and Patricia Langenbau. As a young girl, she attended school in 
Mora, graduating from Mora High School. A resident of Lakin, Meade and 
Scott City, Kansas, she was a certified nurses aide and a homemaker.

On February 27, 1990, she married Terry Lee Roberts at Lakin, Kansas. He precedes her in death on April 4, 2009.

She is survived by her children, Wendy Boyer of Oklahoma City, 
Oklahoma, Kurt Boyer of Gothenburg, Nebraska, and Jessica Willet of 
Medford, Oklahoma; two brothers, Roy Langenbau and James Langenbau; a 
sister, Jennifer Langenbau; and six grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9:00 until 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 22, 
2023, at Fidler-Orme-Bachman Mortuary, Meade. Memorial graveside 
services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023, at

Beatrice Roberts (1964-2023)

Mary Barstler Sorensen died Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the 
Havenwood-Heritage Heights Health Services Center, an assisted-living 
facility at 33 Christian Avenue in Concord, NH. She was 95, and had 
lived a long and full life.

Born Mary Jane Barstler on March 3, 1927, in Lincoln, Nebraska, Mary 
was the only child of Arnold Barstler, a railway postal clerk, and Olive
 Pasco Barstler, a school teacher and president of the local Women’s 
Christian Temperance Union. Mary fell in love with Thomas C. Sorensen 
when she joined the debate team at Lincoln High School. They were 
married in 1948, and had three children: Ann, Alan, and Jens (Chris).

Mary’s parents had been the first in their families to leave farming 
for city life. She married into a prominent and politically connected 
family, left Nebraska, traveled widely, and at times resided on both 
American coasts and in two foreign countries. Yet she retained for her 
whole life many of the values and sensibilities of her Midwest/Great 
Depression upbringing.

Once, as a child visiting relatives in Peru, NE, Mary was taken to a 
barn and shown a litter of kittens. “This was the first time I had seen 
little kittens, and I was impressed,” she recalled years later. “I was 
surprised and almost disbelieving when I was told I could have one to 
take home. Still disbelieving, I asked which one.” Mary was told she 
could have whichever kitten she wanted.

“According to my moral values at the time, I should be modest, 
unobtrusive, unassuming, etc., shunning special attention and not be 
ambitious or greedy or whatever,” Mary wrote. “I should, of course, not 
take the best one. (I was unworthy.) However, there was only one really 
nice kitty, kind of a buff-pink color. All the others were scrawny and 
had ugly spots. Against all my best instincts, I said I wanted the 
buff-pink one, please.”

The kitten, newly named Muffin, was packed up and taken home, and 
Mary would eagerly run to find her on returning from school. A few days 
later, however, Muffin escaped and was run over by a car. “Now whose 
fault was this?,” Mary wrote. “Naturally, MINE. I should never have 
asked for the best one.”

As self-effacing as she was, Mary rarely seemed insecure in her 
opinions on the right and wrong ways to do things. She also showed 
impressive competence in jobs she undertook over the years. These jobs 
varied widely. She taught deaf children in Ogallala, NE, and juvenile 
offenders in Pleasanton, CA. She managed the office for the executive of
 a large suburban New York county, and for a Connecticut home for 
retired nuns. All of her jobs showed two abiding passions: figuring ways
 to make systems and organizations work better, and applying specialized
 teaching skills to help marginalized persons join the mainstream.

Mary wrote about watching her father wash dishes on a Saturday 
morning. “I was studying Home Economics at the time and knew he wasn’t 
doing it right. When I told him so, my mother angrily took me aside and 
told me that if that was the way he wanted to do them, that was just 
fine and I was not to interfere.” Later in life, employers paid her to 
suggest process improvements.

Most of Mary’s labors went unpaid, of course. She found them 
challenging and fulfilling too. Mary supported her husband as a foreign 
service spouse in Lebanon and Egypt. A devoted mother, she raised three 
children while moving to new places every few years. In retirement, she 
took her beloved grandkids—Laura, Lucy, Nell, and Sarah—on traveling 
adventures they remember still. And she volunteered enthusiastically—not
 to “stay active,” but to make a difference. She did hospice work. She 
also got training to teach English as a foreign language, which made a 
difference in the life of a woman named Sasha.

Sasha in the 1990s had fled with her family from war-ravaged Albania,
 and struggled to find work in America. She was close to despair when 
she finally secured a housecleaning job at the assisted-living facility 
where Mary spent her last years. On Sasha’s first day on the job, her 
very first task was to clean Mary’s residence. Sasha was warned, 
however: “You must vacuum under the bed, but don’t under any 
circumstances touch or move the slippers under the bed!”

Sasha nodded, then proceeded to both touch and move the slippers as 
she vacuumed under the bed. She did this, of course, because she didn’t 
comprehend English. Mary began to tell Sasha in no uncertain terms that 
she was not performing her job correctly—but quickly realized the 
problem. Mary would go on to help Sasha with her English and the 
practical sorts of things recent immigrants need to know. Today Sasha 
and her family are thriving U.S. citizens. She repaid Mary’s kindness 
many times over, becoming her best friend and helping her in countless 
ways as Mary’s health and cognition declined.

Mary Sorensen was a spiritual person. Raised in a Methodist 
household, she joined the Unitarian Church after marrying, and remained a
 Unitarian after her divorce in 1981. Yet she occasionally dabbled in 
prayer. In 2014, she wrote what she called “MY Prayer of Thanksgiving.” 
She was thankful, she said:

“For each of the many wonderful lives I’ve been given, My three children and four grandchildren, Many friends over the years, And for the privilege of touching at least a few lives.”

Joseph A. King, 95, of Sun City Center, Florida, went to be with his Lord 
and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the James A 
Haley VA Hospital in Tampa, Florida, with his daughter, Mary, by his 
side. Born in North Platte, Nebraska, on January 5, 1928, to 
Charles and Mary (Reese) King, he was one of four children. Mr. King 
served in the US Navy, enlisting in 1945 at the age of 17. He met the 
love of his life, Susan Peterson, and they were married in 1950. They 
were married for 64 years until her passing in January 2015. Mr. 
King was a Business Owner in the Home Improvement Industry for several 
years in Nebraska relocating to Florida to be near family. He worked as
 a handyman after his retirement in 1992, living in Pinellas Park and 
Homosassa Springs, FL. Mr. King's hobbies included golf, gardening, and forever cheering on the Nebraska Cornhusker Football Team. Besides
 his wife, Susan, Mr. King was predeceased by his parents, siblings: 
Mary, Charles, and Edward King, and sons Stephen and Anthony King. 
 Left to cherish his memory are his son, Peter King (Patsy) of 
Knoxville, TN, daughter, Mary Farrar (Douglas) of Brandon, Florida, 
seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two 
great-great-grandchildren. A Celebration of his Life will be held
 on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Baylife Church, 1017 Kingsway Rd, 
Brandon, Florida 33510. Friends will be received at 11am in the Student 
Worship Center with the service starting at 11:30am. A reception will 
follow immediately afterwards.

Mary Ann Buesing&nbsp; passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Emerald Care at the age of 75. Mary was born February 16, 1948 in Cozad, Nebraska to Jessie and Doris (Loshonkohl) Werner. They lived in the country around Cozad and moved to town when she was in 4th&nbsp;grade. Mary graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1966.

She married Norbert Buesing in May of 1966. Their union was blessed with 2 sons, Paul and Charlie. She and Norbert divorced in 1973.

Mary worked at Cozad State Bank during her junior and senior years and following her graduation. She went to work at F &amp; S Sausage until they closed. In April 1992, she went to work for VVS, Inc. until her retirement in 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Terry; and 3 brother-in-laws. Survivors include her sons, Paul (Johna) and Charles (Crystal) both of Cozad; grandchildren, Zachary of Cozad, Allie of North Platte, Chynna of Kearney and Cameron of Lincoln; sisters, Ramona (Richard) Martin of Redmond, OR, Joyce Sabin of Gothenburg, Norma Richards of Cozad, and Marsha Weeks of Gothenburg; and one brother, Larry (Janice) Werner of Cozad.

Mary Ann Buesing (1948-2023)

David Scott Poore of Cozad, NE passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the age of 69. David was born in McCook, NE on August 1, 1953, to Dale and Peggy (Kelly) Poore. He graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1971 where he was active in basketball, football, and track. After graduation, he attended Kearney State College and was a member of the Beta Sigma Psi fraternity. He graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

During his freshman year at Kearney, he met the love of his life, Mary Ann Denzin, of Wood River, NE, they married on December 20, 1975. In spring of 1976, they received their first teaching jobs in Cozad, NE. There David taught science in middle school for 34 years. In addition to teaching, he also coached middle school track, basketball, and often drove the bus for those events. David was a master teacher as his former students will tell you. He taught in a way that made learning fun and exciting. One of his teaching techniques was to use ping-pong balls to keep students engaged in his class. Every day his students would clamor to hear one of his “Poore” jokes. He was named Outstanding Young Educator in 1982, nominated for Teacher of the Year for Nebraska, and received the Crystal Apple Award for outstanding teacher in 2007.

David retired from teaching in 2008. He started a new business venture, Telstar Satellite Services LLC, with the support and help of his sons, which is still going strong today and has locations throughout the Midwest and in Central Florida.

David had many hobbies that he enjoyed. He loved spending time hunting and fishing with his own father and his sons. In 1991, he became a Zippo lighter collector, and assembled one of the best collections in the United States. He eventually sold his collection and turned around and wrote two books about Zippo lighters: Zippo: The Great American Lighter and Zippo: a Collector’s Guide.

Above all, David had a deep abiding faith in Jesus Christ, and was never shy about sharing it with others. Wherever he was, he always found a way to work it into the conversation. He felt a deep conviction to impact others for Jesus. He had a generous heart and was always ready to use his resources to help someone who needed it. He had a mind that was always set on prayer, and was quick to say, “let’s just pray about that.” During his recent illness, he knew what it meant to “take up his cross and follow Christ” Matt. 16:24.

David is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Anne (Denzin) Poore, and sons John (Athena) of Bennington, NE; Mark (Cailin) of Phelps, WI; Matthew (Brandy) of Wahoo, NE; Luke (Jenny) of Minden, NE; and Caleb (Anna) of Callaway, NE and 13 grandchildren. Other relatives include his mother, Peggy Poore of Omaha, brother Dan (Anne) Poore of Omaha, and nieces Ashley (Robbie) Kyrklund of Chandler, AZ; Amanda (Angel) Hull of Bennington, NE/ Aunt Patricia Hoehner of Kearney, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Poore of McCook in 2020.

David’s wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cozad Bible Church with Pastor JC Calhoun officiating.

 </figure>David Scott Poore of Cozad, NE passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the age of 69. David was born in McCook, NE on August 1, 1953, to Dale and Peggy (Kelly) Poore. He graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1971 where he was active in basketball, football, and track. After graduation, he attended Kearney State College and was a member of the Beta Sigma Psi fraternity. He graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree.During his freshman year at Kearney, he met the love of his life, Mary Ann Denzin, of Wood River, NE, they married on December 20, 1975. In spring of 1976, they received their first teaching jobs in Cozad, NE. There David taught science in middle school for 34 years. In addition to teaching, he also coached middle school track, basketball, and often drove the bus for those events. David was a master teacher as his former students will tell you. He taught in a way that made learning fun and exciting. One of his teaching techniques was to use ping-pong balls to keep students engaged in his class. Every day his students would clamor to hear one of his “Poore” jokes. He was named Outstanding Young Educator in 1982, nominated for Teacher of the Year for Nebraska, and received the Crystal Apple Award for outstanding teacher in 2007.David retired from teaching in 2008. Bonnie Jean Arnold, 67, of Galesburg, IL, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.

Bonnie
 was born August 14, 1955, to Richard S. and Margaret Jean (VeNard) 
Arnold.  Bonnie attended Galesburg area schools and graduated from the 
nursing program at Carl Sandburg College.  She worked in the nursing 
field for over 20 years, last working as the skin care coordinator at 
Rosewood Care Center in Galesburg.

Bonnie married 
Ronald M. Arnold in 1980 in Galesburg. He survives. She is also 
survived by two sons, Chad R. (Angela) Goff of Dahinda, Illinois and 
Mike (Lori) Goff of Galesburg; and five grandchildren, Jordan Olson, 
Emma Porter, MacKenzie Goff, Seth Goff, and Garrett Goff. Bonnie is 
also survived by two brothers, Richard (Alice) Arnold of Franklin, TN 
and William Arnold of Alamo, TX; and two sisters, Betty Walker of 
Henderson, IL and Annette (Keith) Gift of North Platte, NE. &nbsp;Bonnie was 
preceded in death by her parents.

Bonnie was a talented
 seamstress that many came to have their clothing tailored.  Bonnie’s 
life was centered around her family, especially her grandchildren.

Peggy was born November 30th, 1941, in North Platte, NE to the late Bill and Betty Macke. She was one of six children. Peggy grew up and graduated from St. Agnes Academy in Alliance, NE. She began her future career by attending Grand Island Beauty School and earning her License of Cosmetology. She worked 60 plus years in her own beauty shop and “loved” all of her ladies.

Peggy married the late Larry Bostron on January 4th, 1964, and to this union two daughters were born. Peggy and Larry made their home in Mullen, NE and ran two hometown businesses.

Peggy loved spending time with family and friends, laughing, and always wore a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She always thought of others first.&nbsp;

Peggy is survived by her daughters, Lyn (Bryan) Crisp and Brenda (Tod) Shepherd, four grandchildren, Tanner (Katie) Crisp, Lauren Hollenbeck (Cody Kostman), Ryan and Landon Shepherd, three great grandchildren, Riggin Hollenbeck, Kinley and Kyla Crisp, sister, Jean Macke, and brother, Jim (Michelle) Macke. Margaret "Peggy" Bostron (1941-2023)

Joan Kay Rush of Cozad, Nebraska, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday February 16, 2023. She was born October 7, 1944, to Tom and Kate (Zeigler) Loughran in Broken Bow, NE. Joan attended Gates grade school through eighth grade, and then Merna High School where she graduated with the class of 1962.&nbsp;

Joan married Jerry Rush in 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa.&nbsp;In 1975, she and Jerry relocated to Cozad where she became the Cozad Elementary librarian, retiring after 30 years of shelving and checking out books to children. She greatly enjoyed working with the staff and students and always looked forward to reading, “The Boxcar Children” to her second graders. She was a faithful member of the Cozad United Methodist Church for over 50 years, serving on many committees as well as volunteering her time at both the Robert Henri Museum and the United Methodist Church Thrift Shop. Many of her favorite memories were when she attended her children and grandchildren’s sporting events, especially when basketball season arrived. Joan loved keeping stats on every basket and free throw made, as well as the number of fouls committed by each team. She was an avid tennis player in her younger years, and belonged to three bridge clubs. Joan shuffled her cards for the last time one week before her death. In 2009 she became a member of the PEO Chapter IB, a sisterhood she greatly enjoyed. She loved her neighbors and her dear friends immensely.&nbsp;

Joan and Jerry were blessed with three children; Jodi Lynn (Steve) Hirsch of Denver, Jamie Lee (Stephanie) of Cozad, and Jarod Lance (Nicole) of Callaway. She had seven grandchildren, Brittani Hirsch, Chelsey and husband Cody Freis all of Denver, Chad and Kacey Hirsch of Phoenix, AZ, Jacob Rush of Cozad and Sadie Rush of Tuscaloosa, AL, Jordan Rush of Overton, and Jack Rush of North Platte. Three great-children, Pyper Lynn and Daxtyn Bradley Freis, Hendrix Raymond Hirsch, and baby boy Hirsch due in March. Brothers, Mick (Ellen) Loughran of Lincoln, Randy (Janet) Loughran of Broken Bow, and sister Sue (Don) Schauda of Comstock.&nbsp; Other relatives include her Aunt June of Denver, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Joan Kay Rush (1944-2023)

Sandra Lee Maris, age 87, of McCook, NE passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at the Wauneta Care Center in Wauneta, NE.

Sandy was born March 19, 1935 in Detroit, MI to parents Harold Lee and Vera Mae (Stuetzer) Bush.&nbsp; She was one of three siblings who attended school in Detroit, graduating from Detroit High in 1953.&nbsp;

On August 28, 1955 in Detroit, Sandy married the love of her life, Ervin Lee Maris. The couple became parents to nine children. Sandy was a member of McCook Christian Church where she attended Bible study and was a part of Women’s Ministry. She enjoyed crocheting potholders, tending her garden in the summer months and growing flowers. Sandy donated to the local blood bank up until the age of 65 and continued to help with local elections as her health allowed.&nbsp; Her family was very important to her, as was spending time at the Senior Center where she shared meals and conversations with others and was a friend to many.&nbsp;

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ervin Maris; daughter, Deb (Dan) Petty; son in laws, Todd Baker and David Skraback; granddaughters, Dawn Salyer, Amber Hernandez and Heather Schrauth; and a brother, Harold “Hal” (Dory) Bush.

Those left to celebrate her life include her children, Don (Diane) Maris of Eureka, MO, Roger (Jennifer) Maris of McCook, Michael (Tanya) Maris of Gering, NE, Marie Baker of McCook, Shirley (Cliff) Riener of Palisade, NE, Karen (Carl) Riemann of McCook, Jane (Jim) Foster of Bartley, NE and Mary Maris of Emporia, KS; sister, Sarah Jane (Jim) Hanson of St. Clair Shores, MI; thirty three grandchildren; thirty six great grandchildren with four on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Sandra L. Maris (1935-2023)

Oliver Daniel Forbes passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Children's Hospital in Omaha, NE just shy of his first birthday.

Oliver was born February 11, 2022 in McCook, NE to parents Tyler and Joslyn Forbes.&nbsp; Even though Oliver’s time on earth was short, he was deeply loved by family, friends, many doctors, nurses, and medical professionals who cared for him.&nbsp; He had a smile that would light up the whole world. His love for life was so big. Like an eternal flame, he left a light in every heart he touched.&nbsp; During his time on earth, he brought so many people closer to their faith.&nbsp; He was able to create love between family and friends.&nbsp; Oliver was always smiling. He loved everyone. His cousins were his favorite people. Food and toys were his favorite things, like his toy corn rattle.&nbsp; Wherever you found Oliver you found his corn.&nbsp; He knew how to make you laugh – even if it was shaking his head no at you, sticking his tongue out, or acting a little shy. Oliver underwent two open heart surgeries, 6 heart catheter procedures, many echoes, and cardiology appointments. All of this gave us one whole year with his smiley self.&nbsp; Oliver was thought of as a warrior by many.&nbsp;&nbsp; His scar was only shown as a symbol of all the fight he had.&nbsp; Oliver lived a fulfilled life and brought many memories to his family.

Oliver was preceded in death by one great great grandma Twila Steinbrink, four great grandparents, Dean Forbes, Virginia Hanes, and Dan (Shirley) Vogel; as well as his grandfather, Jason Pierce.  </figure>Oliver Daniel Forbes passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Children's Hospital in Omaha, NE just shy of his first birthday.Oliver was born February 11, 2022 in McCook, NE to parents Tyler and Joslyn Forbes.&nbsp; Even though Oliver’s time on earth was short, he was deeply loved by family, friends, many doctors, nurses, and medical professionals who cared for him.&nbsp; He had a smile that would light up the whole world. His love for life was so big. Like an eternal flame, he left a light in every heart he touched.&nbsp; During his time on earth, he brought so many people closer to their faith.&nbsp; He was able to create love between family and friends.&nbsp; Oliver was always smiling. He loved everyone. His cousins were his favorite people. Food and toys were his favorite things, like his toy corn rattle.&nbsp; Wherever you found Oliver you found his corn.&nbsp; He knew how to make you laugh – even if it was shaking his head no at you, sticking his tongue out, or acting a little shy. Oliver underwent two open heart surgeries, 6 heart catheter procedures, many echoes, and cardiology appointments. All of this gave us one whole year with his smiley self.&nbsp; Oliver was thought of as a warrior by many.&nbsp;&nbsp; His scar was only shown as a symbol of all the fight he had.&nbsp; Oliver lived a fulfilled life and brought many memories to his family.Oliver was preceded in death by one great great grandma Twila Steinbrink, four great grandparents, Dean Forbes, Virginia Hanes, and Dan (Shirley) Vogel; as well as his grandfather, Jason Pierce. Oliver Forbes (2022-2023)

Lana Lerae Lashley was born at St. Catherine’s Hospital in McCook, Nebraska to Orville “Bud” and Norma (Norgaard) Snyder on January 31, 1950.&nbsp; She attended District 91 school through the 8th&nbsp;grade and graduated with honors from McCook High School in 1968.&nbsp; She also went on to graduate from McCook Community College.

Lana was united in marriage to the Love of her Life, Tommy Joe Lashley on May 23, 1969 in Jennings, Kansas.&nbsp; They were blessed with two boys, Marty Joe and Rusty Lee, she was a loving mother that adored them deeply. The couple made their home in Curtis, Nebraska, while Tom attended school and then returned to McCook where they spent the rest of their lives together. She enjoyed many activities with her boys, which included taking on the role of baseball coach and Cub Scout leader. Lana ran an in-home daycare for many years prior to selling real estate for 21st&nbsp;Century.&nbsp; In 2012, Lana retired from Stevens Hearing Aid Center where she had served as the office manager for 17 years. Lana was a member of Garden Prairie Church where she served on the board and held many offices with the church and United Methodist Women.&nbsp; Lana was well known for sending hundreds of caring greeting cards to many people. She also enjoyed her years of membership in the Red Hatters. Lana and Tom spent years touring parts of the US and overseas; they visited Alaska, Hawaii, France, and Germany to highlight a few.&nbsp; Lana and a group of girlfriends also enjoyed numerous trips to Belize, Tom was not invited, of course. They also spent many hours traveling to their kids and grandkids sporting events including Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Track, Baseball, Softball and Shooting Sports. &nbsp;&nbsp;

When not traveling, Lana enjoyed cooking, baking and loved spoiling her grandchildren with fresh baked cookies.&nbsp; She was also a talented seamstress that enjoyed crocheting and quilting.&nbsp; She took great pride in sharing her many talents with her grandchildren.&nbsp; Lana and Tom kept a large garden and enjoyed canning a bountiful harvest to provide for the family each year. She also enjoyed hunting, reading, camping, and attending countless black powder shoots where she won many awards. Above all she enjoyed fishing the most and was always the first one to have a fish in the boat…according to her.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Lana Lashley passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at her home north of McCook.&nbsp; She was 73 years of age.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville “Bud” and Norma Snyder; parents-in-law, Buddy and Mary Lee Lashley; infant twin boys; and brother-in-law’s, Buddy Lashley and Steve Splitt. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Tom Lashley of McCook; sons, Marty Joe (Cherri) Lashley of McCook and Rusty Lee (Casey) Lashley of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren: Colton, Cameron, Mitt, Lawson, Tesni, and Seren; brother, Leland (Linda) Snyder of McCook; brother-in-law, Benny Lashley of McCook; sister-in-law, Judy Spiltt and Larry Hurley of North Platte; sister-in-law Norma Lashley of Las Vegas, Nevada; as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Cremation was chosen.&nbsp; The family will greet friends from 3-5 PM, Sunday afternoon, February 19, 2023 at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Amy Joe Johanson (Williams), 46, of Central City, CO, formerly of North Platte, departed this life on February 12, 2023.&nbsp; She was born April 23, 1976 to John Joe and Kathy Johanson in North Platte.

Amy was a graduate of North Platte High School in 1994 and continued her education at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture.&nbsp; She completed her education with two bachelor degrees.&nbsp; Amy was the mother of two, Whitney and Ezra Williams.&nbsp; She loved her children, dogs, and family very much.&nbsp; She enjoyed camping, hiking, snowboarding, the outdoors, and following her son’s sporting events.&nbsp; Amy worked in the North Platte area at US Cellular and The Fence Post for many years before moving to Colorado. Amy is survived by her two children, Whitney and Ezra Williams; father, John Joe Johanson; brother, Jacob Johanson; grandmother, Marie Johanson; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathy (Supanchick) Johanson; grandparents, John Johanson and Edward and Marilyn Supanchick.

Edna G. (Bruns) Poore, age 97, of McCook, NE passed away Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Community Hospital in McCook.

Edna was born August 23, 1925, to Fred H. &amp; Mabel H. (Knosp) Bruns in Dorchester, NE. In 1928, at 3 years old, she became a member of the United Methodist Church in Dorchester. She attended grade school in Dorchester but moved to Hastings, NE and graduated from Hastings High School in 1943. She was an active band member her junior and senior year.&nbsp; During high school, she was also an usherette at the Rivoli Theater in Hastings.&nbsp; Upon graduation, she was offered a job with the FBI in Washington DC to work for Jay Edger Hover.&nbsp; However, she declined the job and moved to McCook and started working for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. in the business office for 3 months.&nbsp; Edna then went on to work for the Air Force in the communications department at the McCook Air Base as a pay station and PBX operator on base for 4 years.

Edna married Charles Wayne Poore in McCook on June 22, 1947.The couple was blessed with two children.

In 1954, Edna joined the Red Willow County Extension Club known as the Gingham Gals Homemaker Club and was an active member for over 50 years. She was also a member of Eastern Star, Eureka Chapter # 86 since 1956.&nbsp; She was active in DOES, a part of the McCook Elks. Edna served as a 4-H Leader in Red Willow County for 5 years and enjoyed teaching the girls how to cook and sew.&nbsp; She enjoyed going fishing with her husband, helping him with the baby calves, sewing for herself and others, doing all types of needlework and crafts, gardening, and feeding the birds and rabbits around the ranch.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Janice Grassmeyer and husband, Douglas of Kearney, NE; brothers, Lester G. Burns of Crete, NE and Terry L Dowling and wife, Phyllis of North Platte, NE; her granddaughter, Erin Grassmeyer of Henderson, NV; great-granddaughter, Addison Kirschner of Henderson, NV; sister in laws, Peggy Poore of Omaha, NE, Jeanette Poore of Lincoln, NE, Mary Ann (Poore) Tardiff and husband Ron of Cedar Rapids, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Proceeding her in death were her parents; husband, Wayne Poore; son, George Poore; brothers in law, Don, Bill, Dale and Rex Poore and Dale Bradshaw; sisters in law, Marjorie (Poore) Bradshaw, Lucile, Jeanie, and Mary Poore, and Evelyn Bruns.

Marilyn Brothers (1927-2023)

Joyce Tremble, a longtime resident of Estes Park, Colorado, passed away at home at the age of 95, with her two daughters by her side.

She was born Joyce Adams in North Platte, Nebraska, to Alfred Claire Adams (known as Claire) and Alice Selma Lund. Growing up as an only child on a farm near Lodge Pole in western Nebraska, Joyce developed a strong spirit of independence and lifelong love of music and learning. As a young child in a one room schoolhouse, she played the classroom piano for the school from the age of 8. Some of Joyce's fondest childhood memories were of riding her secondhand bike down the gravel country roads, collecting scrap metal for the war cause with her father, and of ignoring his admonitions not to climb the windmill.

While at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, she met Neal Tremble who had returned from service in the Air Force. They married in 1947. After they completed their bachelor degrees in 1949, Joyce immediately began her first teaching job and Neal his graduate studies. With their five children in tow, they moved across the country many times as Neal's career progressed and Joyce raised their family, played organ at numerous churches, earned a master's degree, and taught full-time once their youngest child reached kindergarten. Their five children have great memories of all the places they lived and the summer road trips they took. Most of her career was spent as an English teacher and head of the department at Southeast Polk High School in Iowa, where she was a beloved teacher, mentor, and mother figure to her many students and younger teachers.

Joyce treasured the concerts at the Stanley Hotel, Central City Opera, Santa Fe Opera, and Europe. She loved sharing her observations of the bears, elk, deer, marmots, and bobcats on her mountain property. Until her mid 80s, she hiked in the Rockies with hiking groups and friends and family, and hiked as well in Arizona, Alaska, and Ireland. A lifelong learner, Joyce attended thought provoking classes at the Senior Center. She volunteered at the Estes Valley Library for 18 years and was always surrounded by books, newspapers, and magazines at home. These endeavors brought her many great friends whom she treasured.

Joyce was predeceased in 1997 by her husband of 50 years, Dr. Neal Tremble. She is survived by her five children, their spouses, and her six grandchildren. Her family wishes to thank their mother's dear friend and aide Kathy for her wonderful help and friendship.

&nbsp; Franklin Charles Anderson was born May 28, 1964, in Imperial, NE to Teddy Dean and Carolyn Kay (Roschewski) Anderson. Frank grew up in the Wauneta area. Frank attended Wauneta Public Schools. Frank purchased his first home in Hamlet, Nebraska and lived there until 2017 when he sold that property and moved back to the Anderson family farm where he grew up 5 miles east of Wauneta, where they had a hog operation farrowing hogs. Daily chores of feeding and watering hogs never bothered Frank. Frank’s love for trucking was inevitable. Frank worked for Hinz Trucking Company out of Elm Creek, NE for many years. He drove many miles over the years going from coast to coast and seeing a lot of the countryside. He took it very seriously; it was important to him that the truck was running properly. He talked about the many deadlines he had to meet. Once ending the coast-to-coast trucking career, he worked for many ag related companies such as local coops taking care of the local farmers. In the last several years Frank drove trucks locally for the area farmers and helped with their farming operations. The past couple of years his love for taking care of his Rhode Island Red Chickens was his treasure, spoiling them by buying them special feed and treats continually. Frank enjoyed get-togethers, whether it was with relatives, friends or business folks. He had a great love for joking and teasing his great nieces and nephews. Frank passed away early Tuesday morning, February 14, 2023, at the Chase County Community Hospital. Frank was 58 years of age. Robert Leroy “Bob” Magnuson, 91, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away February 14, 2023 at Centennial Park in North Platte. He was born October 21, 1931 to Malcome and Helga (Berg) Magnuson in Arnold, Nebraska. Bob was born at home at Tallin Table and attended Tallin School through 8th grade. He graduated from Arnold High School with the class of 1949. He met Audrey Kramer at a dance at the KC Hall in North Platte. The couple eloped to Sidney, Iowa on September 3, 1955. They honeymooned at the State Fair in Lincoln, Nebraska. Bob farmed and did ranch work for the Peterson family, worked on the bridge crew for the railroad, drove truck for Connelly Truckline and then moved to California. He drove truck for a few different companies and retired from Vons Grocery Company in 1993. After retirement they moved into their fifth wheel and traveled for 18 years throughout the U.S. and Canada. The couple square danced for years. Bob loved fishing, traveling, reading, historical museums, history, and gardening. He also enjoyed hunting as a youth and loved his horse Diamond, when he was a child. Bob is survived by his wife, Audrey of North Platte; two children, David Malcome (Florence) Magnuson, of North Platte and Donna Jean (Ross) Jimenez of Scottsbluff, Nebraska; grandchildren, Eric (Renee) Magnuson, of Farr West, Utah, Joel (Mary) Magnuson, of Grants Pass, Oregon, Amy Magnuson, of Farr West, Utah, Cassandra (Jon) Erickson of Jacksonville, Florida, Robert (Bry) Jimenez of Gering, Nebraska; great grandchildren, Adam, Sarah, Logan, Ryan, Amara, Colby, Lucy Magnuson, Kobe, Knoah and Kashdyn Jimenez; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends. Bob Magnuson (1931-2023)

Dolores Wright, age 92 of Mullen, NE passed away February 13, 2023, at the Linden Court in North Platte, NE.

Memorial services will be Friday, February 17, 2023, at 1:00 pm Mountain Time at the St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church in Mullen with Pastor Karen Juzenas officiating. Dolores Kathleen (Phipps) Wright was born in Hyannis, NE on September 7, 1930. Her parents Charles Luther and Kathrine Lavelle (Dalton) Phipps. They took her home to the Phipps family ranch some 20 miles north of Whitman, NE where she spent the first four- and one-half years of her life playing with her cousins. In May 1935, the family left the security of the home ranch and moved to a ranch nine miles northeast of Mullen, NE. Most of her lifetime was spent in this area. Two sisters arrived here but no brothers, so being the oldest she was her father’s top hand, riding horses to school, working cattle, and wrangling the work horses for the summer haying. She attended grade school in a one-room Cherry County School. Dolores went to Mullen for high school where she graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 1948. She went to Kearney State to obtain a teaching certificate. Dolores taught at a rural school near Brownlee, NE the winter of the '49 blizzard. On November 14, 1948, she married Howard Lee Wright. He worked at the Carver Ranch, and she finished her school term. The couple then moved to a farm/ranch near Curtis, NE belonging to Howard’s family. Dolores taught school here in Lincoln County, riding her horse to school again. In the fall of 1951, due to her father’s health, they moved back to her parent’s northeast of Mullen where she spent the remainder of her life. She taught school two more terms, and in August 1952, they were blessed with their son Charles Lee and in March 1956 Patrick Sidney was born. Howard and Dolores took an active role in their community. They were confirmed in St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church in May 1953. Dolores taught Sunday School for many years and served as Episcopal Church Women President on the local and regional level. She was a Charter member of the Sandhills Toastmistress Club and served in various offices through the Presidency of the four State Regional level. She also was a member of the local and State NE cowbells, sharing her abilities through the offices to State President in 1976-77. She belonged to local Goodwill FCE Club, Red Hats, and Lucubaters. She was much involved in 4-H and other activities of her sons, also seven years as librarian on the book mobile.

With the boys through school, she accepted a job with the USDA Department of Agricultural Statistics in 1975. She thoroughly enjoyed the next 40 years as an enumerator and retiring in 2015 as a supervisor of the Western half of the State. She stayed on the ranch with both sons &amp; families keeping books and cooking! Dolores entered Linden Court in North Platte, NE August of 2022.

Dolores is survived by her sons Charles (Nancy) Wright of Mullen, and Patrick (Marilyn) Wright of Mullen, and four grandchildren Charlesee (Justin) Schoenrock, Amber Wright, Daniel Wright, and Heather Stockdale, three great grandchildren McKenzie, Maycee, and Blakely.

Dolores was preceded by her husband Howard, parents Charles and Kathrine Phipps and two sisters Patricia Sexton and Lynda Rolfes.

Delores Wright (1930-2023)

&nbsp; Danny Bruce Goddard was born September 25, 1947, to Burdette B. and Donna J. (Gibb) Goddard in Benkelman, Nebraska. He lost his struggle with a lifetime of Illness on February 10, 2023, at Carriage House Assisted Living Center, Holyoke, Colorado. Dan was 75 years of age. Dan, as he was liked to be called, grew up in Champion, Nebraska, attending grade school. He was kindhearted, loved family, and spent time walking the Frenchman River with his dogs, or possibly a pet raccoon. He was a dependable newspaper carrier at a young age, and summers were spent helping his granddad, Clint. After graduating from Chase County High School in Imperial, Dan continued his education in Denver, Colorado, attending the Denver Automotive School. He then worked as a mechanic in Denver for a short time before moving to McCook, Nebraska, where he was employed at the T.R.W. Plant for thirteen years. During these years, he traveled throughout the country on his many motorcycles. Dan later moved back to Champion driving trucks for Schilke Farms. In retirement, Dan assisted in the care of his parents. He later began reading and studying the Bible and he and his Mother took home classes from the Pastor of Zion Lutheran Church of Imperial. Dan and his Mother, Donna, were baptized and confirmed that same year. Dan made Holyoke, Colorado, his final home, where he joined the Zion Lutheran Church. He found a kind, loving community of friends and helpers at the church. They visited him frequently when his health would not allow him to attend. Life was never easy due to his illness, but with his little dogs to care for and the staff at the Carriage House, he made the best of life. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, and great-nephew, Jesse Krausnick. Left to mourn his passing are sister, Diann and husband, Larry Schilke, nephews, Jeff (Ramona) Schilke and James Schilke, all of the Imperial area. Niece, Christina Krausnick of the Champion area. Dan B Goddrad (1947-2023)

Myra Sexton, 61 of Fort Morgan, Colorado passed away peacefully Sunday morning, February 12, 2023 at her home.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Chappell with Phillip Baladez officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow in the Chappell Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour before services Tuesday morning at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Myra’s name to The Rocky Mountain Great Dane Rescue. Myra was born on October 9th, 1961, in Julesburg (Colorado) to Gladys &amp; Myron Wilkinson. She was later adopted by Burt Porter.&nbsp; The family lived in Chappell, NE. Myra married Bill Sexton on December 16, 1978 in Big Springs, Nebraska.&nbsp; They lived there for a short time before moving back to Chappell, where Bill worked at Leprino Foods.&nbsp; There they became parents to 3 children: J.J., Bobby, and Crystal.

Myra enjoyed raising Great Danes and Quarter Horses with her family at the farm house north of Chappell.&nbsp; She also loved helping her children in the Trailblazers 4-H club, as well as with high school sports.&nbsp; During her time in Chappell, she was active as an EMT on the Chappell Ambulance Service. In 1995, Myra and Bill moved to Fort Morgan (Colorado), where she pursued her career as a guard and then the director of security at AgTAC security.&nbsp; She was still employed there at the time of her death. Myra is survived by her husband Bill, son J.J. Sexton, daughters Bobby (Shawn) Schrum and Crystal (John) Nicklas, 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.&nbsp; She is also survived by her brother Bub (Candy) Wilkinson &amp; 2 sisters Sharon (James) Baladez and Kalee (Chris) Coradini, her uncle Fred Jensen; and countless nieces and nephews.

Myra is proceeded in death by her Grandparents Butch and Dorothy Jensen, mother Gladys Hill, fathers Myron Wilkinson and Burt Porter, sister Pam Salvador, and aunt Carolyn Jensen.

She was later adopted by Burt Porter.&nbsp; The family lived in Chappell, NE. Myra married Bill Sexton on December 16, 1978 in Big Springs, Nebraska.&nbsp; They lived there for a short time before moving back to Chappell, where Bill worked at Leprino Foods.&nbsp; There they became parents to 3 children: J.J., Bobby, and Crystal.Myra enjoyed raising Great Danes and Quarter Horses with her family at the farm house north of Chappell.&nbsp; She also loved helping her children in the Trailblazers 4-H club, as well as with high school sports.&nbsp; During her time in Chappell, she was active as an EMT on the Chappell Ambulance Service. In 1995, Myra and Bill moved to Fort Morgan (Colorado), where she pursued her career as a guard and then the director of security at AgTAC security.&nbsp; She was still employed there at the time of her death. Later in life Myra enjoyed riding 4-wheelers, riding RZRs, and camping with her family and friends.&nbsp;Myra is survived by her husband Bill, son J.J. Lucinda moved to Hyannis, Nebraska as a child and grew up in Hyannis.&nbsp; She graduated from Hyannis High School with the class of 1979.&nbsp; After high school, she ran an in-home daycare for a short time.&nbsp; She then worked at the Hyannis Hotel as a cook and waitress and she also worked at Dredla’s grocery store in Hyannis.&nbsp; She loved to shop, especially for shoes and purses.&nbsp; She enjoyed word search puzzles and cooking. Lucinda was always happy and content.

Lucinda Marie Chick (1960-2023)

Connie&nbsp;Rea Heinis, 79, a longtime Ogallala resident, passed away at Azria Health Centennial Park in North Platte, Nebraska on Monday, February 13, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. For the last 10 years Connie fought a courageous battle against Alzheimer’s disease. Connie never missed a moment to smile, giggle, or joke with every stranger that quickly became a friend. Connie was the brightest light and the quickest to let you know when you messed up. Her family is comforted to know that she is in the arms of Jesus.

Connie was Born on May 17, 1943 the only child of John and V. Wanaleen (Cunningham) Preitauer at Ogallala. She attended school and graduated from Ogallala High School in 1961. Connie met her soul mate, Charles (Butch) Richard Heinis in 1960 at the roller-skating rink in Grant, Nebraska. Butch and Connie dated for 4 years, and in these later years Connie was very proud to let everyone know that they did not live together before they were married at the Ogallala United Methodist Church on May 24, 1964. Charles was in the Air Force, they were stationed in Great Falls, Montana, and Austin, Texas. When Charles was discharged from the Air Force they lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Everett, Washington and settled in Ogden, Utah in 1971. To this union Charles and Connie welcomed a son, Corban Richard Heinis; Daughter, Carma Renea (Heinis) Payne and in 1984 a neighborhood girl quickly became an adopted daughter, Kaohu Kanakaole (Ko). Connie found her life’s work helping troubled kids, at Mound Fort Middle School where she helped countless wayward youth find their way. Connie’s favorite saying was “These kids are not bad kids they just made bad choices.”

Connie was the Registration Coordinator for the 12th armored division reunion and a board member for the 12th armored division museum in Abeline, Texas. Connie served on the Keith County Civil Service Commission, and Keith County cemetery board for many years. Connie had a love of bowling and soccer.&nbsp; She coached AYSO, little league, and special Olympics. Connie was a wonderful cook; she was known to show her love for you over a big plate of her famous cream cheese roll ups.

In 2001 Charles and Connie retired and moved back to Ogallala to care for Connie’s dad until he passed away. Connie continued her father’s cleaning job, at Adams Bank and Trust until 2019. Connie will be remembered for her heart of gold, her never-ending willingness to help those in need, her bright smile, her contagious laugh, and her unwavering optimism.

Connie is survived by the love of her life and husband of 58-year Charles Heinis of North Platte, Son Corban (Johanna) Heinis of North Platte, Ne; Daughter Carma (Shane) Payne of Plain City, Utah; Daughter Kaohu Kanakaole (Ko) of Ogden, UT.

Connie R. (Preitauer) Heinis (1943-2023)

Sally Lyn Lambertus, 69, of Cozad, Nebraska, left this earth to be with her Lord on February 14, 2023.&nbsp;&nbsp;

She was born September 9, 1953 in Kearney, NE, daughter of Joseph and Ardis (Schroeder) Mettenbrink. Sally attended Kearney Public Schools, graduating in 1971. She worked various jobs in the Lexington area. In 1972 she married Sam Mullin and to this union a daughter Heather was born. Sally later moved to Cozad where she worked at Tenneco Automotive. In 1982, she married Gary Hall and to this union a daughter, Chelsey was born. Sally welcomed Robbin as her own, a daughter Gary had from a previous marriage. In 1990, Sally moved to Gothenburg, where she met and married Norm Lambertus who owned and operated the Bar W Lounge. Together the couple both worked the bar while Sally continued to work at Tenneco, retiring in 2000 due to bad health.

Sally enjoyed reading, traveling, and music. Some of her life highlights were trips to: Vegas, California, Virginia, D.C. Florida, Grand Canyon, MT. Rushmore, and many other states and places. She was lucky enough to travel overseas a lot including to the Bahamas, Cancun, Hawaii and all over Europe. She saw the Mona Lisa, Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Capri, castles in Germany and Bavaria. Sally also visited the Sistine Chapel in Rome, Italy and was in the audience while the late Pope John Paul II gave a blessing. She rode in a gondola in Venice, Italy; saw the volcanic ruins of ancient Pompeii, the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace in London. She saw the Mayan Pyramids in Tulum/Cancun, Mexico. Sally's big love was concerts and had seen a lot of the "greats", Elvis, Stones, Clapton, Eagles, Prince, Springsteen, Beatles, Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Elton John, Carpenters, ELO, John Denver and others. She was lucky enough to meet both Garth Brooks and Charlie Daniels (after their concerts).

Sally is survived by three daughters, Chelsey (Rickey) Maendele, Robbin (Doyle) Case, and Heather (Dan) Heinemann, all of Cozad, NE; sister, Valerie Duff, Summerville, SC; brother, Joey Mettenbrink, Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Laura, Tanner, Tasia, Lucas, Kody, Chance, and Jury; great-grandchildren, Paizlee, Gary, Jury, Breelyn, Odin, Lazarus, A'keeno, Nettie, Lorelai, Doclen, and Kali; her dog Prince II; niece, Kyla (Nathan) Woelfle, Mt. Pleasant, SC; nephew, RJ (Jamie) Duff, Pell City, AL. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ardis; her husband, Norman Lee Lambertus; brother-in-law, Brad Duff; aunt, Betty (Wendell) Browning; and grandparents.

Zella Lucille Clawson, 93, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Waterview Pointe nursing home in Marietta where she was a resident.&nbsp; She was born August 27, 1929 in Curtis, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Ira James Clawson and Vinnie (Hecht) Clawson.&nbsp; She is survived by a daughter, Maren Beery of Marietta, Ohio, and son, Thad Beery of Stockport, Ohio, one grandson, Andrew Nicholas of Rice, Washington, and one great granddaughter, Amber Catron of Tacoma, Washington.&nbsp; She is also survived by two brothers, Donald and Charles Clawson. Zella attended high school in Curtis before relocating to Colorado where she lived for many years on top of a scenic mountain in a ranch house she cherished.&nbsp; In later years, she relocated to Marietta, Ohio, to be near her daughter and son. A one-hour visitation with the family is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 22nd, at the Blasé-Wetzel-Strauser Funeral Home in Curtis.&nbsp; A graveside service will be held that afternoon at the Curtis Cemetery at 1:00 P.M.

 </figure>Zella Lucille Clawson, 93, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Waterview Pointe nursing home in Marietta where she was a resident.&nbsp; She was born August 27, 1929 in Curtis, Nebraska, a daughter of the late Ira James Clawson and Vinnie (Hecht) Clawson.&nbsp; She is survived by a daughter, Maren Beery of Marietta, Ohio, and son, Thad Beery of Stockport, Ohio, one grandson, Andrew Nicholas of Rice, Washington, and one great granddaughter, Amber Catron of Tacoma, Washington.&nbsp; She is also survived by two brothers, Donald and Charles Clawson. Zella attended high school in Curtis before relocating to Colorado where she lived for many years on top of a scenic mountain in a ranch house she cherished.&nbsp; In later years, she relocated to Marietta, Ohio, to be near her daughter and son. A one-hour visitation with the family is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 22nd, at the Blasé-Wetzel-Strauser Funeral Home in Curtis.&nbsp; A graveside service will be held that afternoon at the Curtis Cemetery at 1:00 P.M.
