Emery Neil Harris, 66, of Ogallala, passed away on Saturday August 21, 2021 at the Ogallala Community Hospital, after a short battle with cancer. &nbsp;He was born on June 2, 1955 in Grant, Nebraska to Arden "Doc" and Gwendolyn (Rowley) Harris at Grant, NE.&nbsp; &nbsp;Emery grew up on a farmstead just outside of Grant. He was one of 5 children. He graduated from Grant High School in 1973. While in high school and shortly after, he took his first job at Grant Bean &amp; Seed. Subsequently, he moved to Ogallala and took a job at Arnold Engineering, where he would continue to work for over 40 years. &nbsp;In 1981, he met his wife, Marla (Blakeman), marrying on October 30, 1982. Together they had 2 children Brian and Heather. Emery was so proud of his children’s accomplishments. Emery was an avid hunter, hunting game such as deer, antelope, pheasant and geese. He always enjoyed the company and camaraderie of his friends and family on his hunting trips. He also frequented auctions and estate sales, always looking for unique finds and in turn reselling, as a hobby.&nbsp; Emery will always be remembered for his storytelling, jokes, love for raising animals, gun collecting and his ornery smile. Emery N. Harris (1955-2021)

Violet Mae Lewis, 89, of Callaway, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at the Callaway Good Life Center. Violet was born March 17, 1932 in her parent’s home on the family farm between Mankato and Burr Oak, Kansas, in Jewell County, Kansas. Her father was Elmer Elsworth Alexander and mother Florence Isabelle Silsby.&nbsp; She attended a one-room country school (Lamb School) located on the edge of the family farm and graduated from Burr Oak High School with the class of 1950. Violet was united in marriage to Elmer LeRoy Lewis on March 26, 1951 in the bride’s home. They raised four children, Ronnie, Connie, Dale and Anita.&nbsp; Violet and Elmer lived in Beloit, Kansas; moved to Lincoln, Nebraska and Greenwood, Nebraska where Violet worked as a housewife and bookkeeper for the family service stations.&nbsp; They retired in 1992 and moved to Callaway, Nebraska. She was a member of TOPS for 50 years, a member of United Methodist Churches for over 75 years, taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and was a member of the United Methodist Women. Her favorite past times were puzzles, scrapbooks, family history books, and spending time with her family. Survivors include her husband, Elmer of Callaway; children, Ronnie (Jeanine) Lewis of Greeley, Colorado, Connie (Ken) Rigler of Callaway, and Dale (Angie) Lewis of Crystal Lakes, Missouri; son-in-law, Jon Gaul of Webster City, Iowa; they were also blessed with 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Doris Alexander of Mankato, Kansas and Virginia Alexander of Esbon, Kansas. Besides her parents, Violet was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Gaul; her son, Gale (twin of Dale); brothers, Newell and Merlin Alexander; sister, Vera Dempsey and brother-in-law, Forrest Dempsey. Violet Mae Lewis (1932-2021)

Dorothy&nbsp;Wills, age 85, of North Platte, passed away at Linden Court on August 20, 2021. Dorothy was born in Sutherland to George and Alfreda Fleecs on January 29, 1936. She grew up on a farm 4 miles southeast of Sutherland and attended Fairview Country School. Dorothy graduated from Sutherland High School in 1952 then attended Kearney State College where she received her teaching certificate. She taught in rural schools in the Sutherland area and 3rd and 4th grades at Wallace Public School. She later worked for Cornhusker Tractor &amp; Equipment Co., Lincoln County Treasurer, American Legion Club, and for the U.S.D.A. Farmers Home Administration. On October 27, 1956, Dorothy married Donald Adamson. The couple had two children, Michael and Rhonda, and lived in North Platte. On March 25, 1988, Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Wills and they made their home in North Platte. Dorothy was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing bridge and loved dancing and listening to country music. She was an excellent cook and baker, she made the best chicken and noodles and peanut brittle. Dorothy enjoyed spending time at the family cabin at Lake McConaughy. She loved her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Alfreda, and stepfather, Charley Teply; sisters-in-law, Lila Fleecs, Joan Fleecs and Maria Fleecs; her daughter, Rhonda Frye; and stepson, Michael Baier. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Bob, son, Michael Adamson, and son-in-law, Jim Frye, all of North Platte; stepchildren, Patrick (Patty) Baier, of Amherst, OH, Sherry (Dennis) Seehawer, of Greenfield, WI, and David Wills, Kim (Lanny) Ley, and Julie Hansen, all of Cheyenne, WY; her sister, Shirley (Robert) Galyen, of Elkton, MD; brothers, Bob Fleecs, of Geneva, Francis Fleecs, of North Platte and Ron Fleecs, of St. Louis, MO; and special friend, Teresa Martin, of North Platte; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family and friends. He was a very giving person who was well thought of and had many friends in North Platte. He was very close with the class of 1958. They did a lot of things together and had breakfast every Friday morning. Survivors include sister, Maxine George of Colorado Springs, Colorado; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends and neighbors. Kimberly “Kim” was born March 26, 1958, in North Platte, Nebraska, to Dale Edwin and Willa Jean (Pease) Kirts. She grew up in North Platte and attended North Platte High School, graduating in 1976. She explored life’s ventures and lived in Cheyenne, Wyoming, from 1977 through 1986 before returning to North Platte. She then attended Mid-Plains Community College and received an associate degree in Dental Assisting. Kim was a dental assistant with Dr. Charles J. Boettcher, DDS in North Platte for nearly 30 years.

Kimberly was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, and friend, who touched the hearts of all who knew her, and will always be remembered for her kindness, caring, compassion, and always putting others before herself.&nbsp;&nbsp; She was spot-on with her wit with a joke or observation, always daring to share her true opinion, would win you over with her big cheeky smile, and shared her acceptance of friendship with a boisterous laughter that will be a lasting memory for all that she came to know.

Kim is survived by her two sons, Matthew Dermer of Missoula, Montana, and Jeremy Dermer of North Platte, Nebraska; one granddaughter, Josephina of North Platte; siblings Pam Youngs of North Platte,NE, Jeff (Jennifer Bosche) Kirts of Colorado Springs, CO, Steven (Julie) Kirts of Ames, IA, and Patrick (Lana) Kirts of Papillion, NE; and nephews and nieces, Chelsey Spady, Jacob Kirts, Tanner Kirts, Hunter Kirts, Sarah Kirts, Kyle Kirts, Connor Kirts, Spencer Kirts, Haley Kirts, and Landon Kirts.

She received her primary education from Elwood public schools and graduated from Elwood High School with the class of 1954. On June 18, 1955 Ona was united in marriage to Myrl Sage in Elwood. To this union they were blessed with four children: Peggy, Starla, Myrl “Shane” and Lorinda. The family made their home in Lexington, where Ona always kept herself busy working various jobs. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Kirkpartick’s, a waitress at Lazy L’s, clerk for King’s Pharmacy and Wheeler’s before retiring worked at Orscheln Farm and Home. Ona loved pictures and taking photos. She also enjoyed keeping her mind busy working on crossword puzzles and word searches. She was a talented seamstress and made many of her children’s clothes when they were growing up. Ona was a good cook and baker, known for her cinnamon rolls. In her younger years, Ona and Myrl enjoyed going to dances and she loved her Polka music. Most of all, Ona was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her joy and she enjoyed attending as many of their activities as possible. Jordan L. Hickenbottom, formerly of Cozad, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 in Lincoln, Nebraska at the age of 29. Jordan was born November 6, 1991, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Mike and Stacy (Reier) Hickenbottom. He graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 2010 before attending Southeast Community College in Lincoln. Jordan lived in Lincoln, NE and later Tempe, AZ. In true Hickenbottom fashion, Jordan knew no strangers and quickly made strong connections wherever he went. His kind soul soaked up all his time in Arizona and bonded closely with his Arizona family and friends. Jordan returned to Nebraska, where he could be closer to his family, especially his niece Palmer, his pride and joy. Jordan was blessed to work with many friends in his short time here with us and was excited to be a part of the opening of the new Rosie’s Downtown Sports Bar and Grill. Jordan's life, while undoubtedly too short, was lived to the absolute fullest. He was very generous with his time and his love. He cared about everyone and was upbeat about life. Jordan gave the best bear hugs and gave so much of his time, and always put family first. He was loved by every family member close and distant and reached out to them often. He loved surprising people with visits. Jordan had a huge heart and was very thoughtful. When you talked to Jordan, you could instantly tell you had his full attention. He loved you right back and never missed the chance to show you, whenever and where ever you saw him. He cared and loved so hard for so very many. Jordan was an avid sports fan and a card-shark at pitch and poker. He was sharp-witted and his sarcasm was well-crafted. You just couldn’t help but laugh, smile and feel important to Jordan when he was with you. He loved being with family and friends. Some of his most cherished moments were when he surprised and celebrated others. Jordan typically had a brightness in his eyes, an ornery smirk, and a goofy, fun-loving personality that had a way of drawing you in and keeping you there in his circle. Jordan had an effortless and endless amount of kindness and patience. Kids adored Jordan and flocked to this gentle giant. He could easily make friends with people of all ages. Maria Elaine “Mary” Ginapp, 70, of Stapleton, passed away on August 18, 2021 at Great Plains Health.&nbsp; She was born to Frank and Lorraine (Houston) Mora in North Platte on April 2, 1951. In 1975, Mary began a career at Mid-Plains Community College as the account executor and continued this career for 36 years until 2011.&nbsp; In 1976, she met the love of her life, Michael, and on September 18, 1978 they were married.&nbsp; A son, Tony, was brought to this union. &nbsp;The couple lived in North Platte until 1992 when they moved to Stapleton. &nbsp; Mary was always the one to tell you exactly what was on her mind without holding anything back.&nbsp; She was mischievous and fiery.&nbsp; She was also extremely forgiving and cared for those around her deeply.&nbsp; She thoroughly enjoyed training dogs and horses.&nbsp; The grandkids would often accompany her on horse rides.&nbsp; Mary was most proud of her stallion, Freeway Pep, a 1986 AQHA and WAQHA working champion.&nbsp; She was the president of the River Valley Schutzhund Club for many years until closing it in 1989.&nbsp; Above all, Mary loved her family immensely. He was raised on the family dairy farm north of Bridgeport, Nebraska and graduated from Bridgeport High School. Neal enjoyed a successful career in aviation as a private charter pilot and flight school instructor in Scottsbluff, North Platte, Cozad and Lexington. He also flew gas pipelines for several years in New Orleans and Chicago. In his free time he enjoyed woodworking and oil painting. Neal is survived by daughter Lori (Dennis) Conner of Cheyenne, Wyoming, daughter Linda McNeill of Warren, Michigan, stepson Duane (Terri) Mercer of Cozad, Nebraska, stepson Steve (Melanie) Mercer of Gothenburg Nebraska; 14 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. Neal was proceeded in death by his parents Orville and Pearl; wife Janice; brother Curtis; and son-in-law Malcolm. Neal A. Gibbins (1940-2021)

Jacqueline&nbsp;Sachtjen, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed way at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln on August 18, 2021, at the age of 71. Jacqueline was born to Clarence and Lila (Humphrey) Arensdorf in Sutherland on July 7, 1950. She grew up in Sutherland where she graduated with the Class of '68. On November 3, 1968, Jacqueline married Wendell Sachtjen at the Methodist Church in Sutherland. They lived in Sutherland and she worked at TRW in Ogallala. In 1971, they moved to Palmer so Jacqueline worked in Grand Island at K-Mart for 25 years, Nebraska Truck Center as a claims and warranty specialist for eight years, and eventually at Bosselman Truck Stop until retiring. She and Wendell moved to North Platte in 2018. Jacqueline was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, both in Palmer. She liked doing crafts and sewing and enjoyed planting and tending to her flowers and roses. Jacqueline loved her family and loved being a grandma. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Arensdorf, and sister, Judith Arensdorf. Jacqueline leaves behind her husband, Wendell, and son, Tracy (Michelle) Sachtjen, of North Platte; her mother, Lila Arensdorf, of Sutherland; sisters, Sheryl Arensdorf, of Sutherland, and Julie (Pat) Hoaglund, of Brady; grandsons, Jared, Wyatt and Samuel; and many other relatives. Cremation was chosen. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating.  </figure>Jacqueline&nbsp;Sachtjen, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed way at Bryan Medical Center East in Lincoln on August 18, 2021, at the age of 71. Jacqueline was born to Clarence and Lila (Humphrey) Arensdorf in Sutherland on July 7, 1950. She grew up in Sutherland where she graduated with the Class of '68. On November 3, 1968, Jacqueline married Wendell Sachtjen at the Methodist Church in Sutherland. They lived in Sutherland and she worked at TRW in Ogallala. In 1971, they moved to Palmer so Jacqueline worked in Grand Island at K-Mart for 25 years, Nebraska Truck Center as a claims and warranty specialist for eight years, and eventually at Bosselman Truck Stop until retiring. She and Wendell moved to North Platte in 2018. Jacqueline was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary, both in Palmer. She liked doing crafts and sewing and enjoyed planting and tending to her flowers and roses. Jacqueline loved her family and loved being a grandma. She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Arensdorf, and sister, Judith Arensdorf. Jacqueline leaves behind her husband, Wendell, and son, Tracy (Michelle) Sachtjen, of North Platte; her mother, Lila Arensdorf, of Sutherland; sisters, Sheryl Arensdorf, of Sutherland, and Julie (Pat) Hoaglund, of Brady; grandsons, Jared, Wyatt and Samuel; and many other relatives. Cremation was chosen. Memorial service will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Odean Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating. Inurnment will follow in Fort McPherson National Cemetery. White officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at the Ansley Cemetery, lunch to follow.&nbsp; Visitation will be held 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 20th&nbsp;with family greeting at 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Govier Brothers Mortuary in Broken Bow, Nebraska.&nbsp; Govier Brothers are in charge of the arrangements.&nbsp; Mike was the sixth child born on November 20, 1961, to Theodore and Gloria (Heitman) Gaedke in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; He grew up on the family farm near Wellfleet, Nebraska with his 3 brothers and 2 sisters.&nbsp; Mike graduated from Wallace High School with the class of 1980.&nbsp; He worked several jobs before being employed by Becton Dickinson for 24 years where he met the love of his life and best friend, Terri Curtis of Broken Bow, Nebraska.&nbsp; They were married on January 17, 2004.&nbsp; From this union they were blessed with a son T.J. (Theodore Jonas).&nbsp; Through the years, Mike played his upside down-left handed guitar and sang with several musical groups and individuals including the “White Line Fever Band” and “Better Than Bingo”.&nbsp; His love of music continued by singing for his Lord Jesus Christ and church, family, and many friends.&nbsp; He could play any instrument when given the chance.&nbsp; His favorite instrument was the mandolin.&nbsp; Mike loved spending time camping, fishing, playing many board games and cards with his family whenever he had the opportunity.&nbsp; He loved his family with all of his heart and had a special bond with each of them.&nbsp; Mike never knew a stranger and always had time for chatting.&nbsp; He would drop everything for anyone in need of help.&nbsp; Mike had a passion for coin collecting and was often found slipping a coin to a niece or nephew on occasion for getting him a glass of tea.&nbsp; He loved to talk about how Jesus changed his life forever and now he is singing with the angels in perfect harmony. Warren Haumann age 69 of Thedford, NE passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021, at his home in Thedford. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 2:00 pm at the Thedford High School Gymnasium in Thedford, with Rev. Mark Seivering and Miles Maseberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Warren was the most amazing man most have ever known and touched more lives than I can count. Warren Kelly Haumann blessed this world on April 29, 1952, and was born in Valentine NE. As a child he was ornery and adventurous, yet never gave his mom and dad any troubles. He loved sports, playing the trumpet, and always kept busy. He began working for Consolidated as a young adult and loved the work he did there. He met the love of his life, Shari VanDiest, the summer of 1976, and they married May 5, 1979. When they returned from their honeymoon, Warren handed Shari a shovel out on the Haumann homestead that was established in 1891 and said “lets start digging.” After four years of blood, sweat, and tears, they finally finished their forever home. Warren and Shari went on to have four children: Michael, Andrea, Daniel, and Hannah. Warren began working for Custer Public Power District on Halloween 1983 when Michael was just an infant. He dedicated his life to his job and growing family. He loved Custer and serving the people of the sandhills. He had every intention of working at Custer as long as possible until cancer came along and shortened his time there. He did, however, put in over 30 years with the company and was always so proud of his work. From the time Warren was a small child, he had a love for aviation. His sister Janice remembers a story of Warren thinking he could fly off the chicken coop. He ended up breaking his arm but later in life did get his pilot’s license and went on to serve many years on the Thedford airport board. Warren was the definition of an honest, hardworking, Christian man, and instilled the most amazing work ethic, morals, and values, into his kids and those who called him their “second father.” Warren had a love for people that was simply indescribable, and he treated each and every person he came across with the utmost respect. Warren passed at his home on August 15, 2021, after a long nine-year battle with Multiple Myeloma. Warren was surrounded by his wife and kids in his final moments. Warren is preceded in death by his father David Haumann, father-in-law Norval VanDiest, grandson Jack Michele and cousin Trish Ratkovec. He is survived by his wife Shari Haumann, children Michael (Sendi Haumann), Andrea (Matthew Michele), Daniel (Taryn Haumann), Hannah Haumann, and Tyler Sherwood, along with seven grandchildren: Bayleigh Irvin, Alaina, Logan, and Kelli Michele, Jonathan Hull, and Paighton and Tinsley Sherwood. Karen Kay Stear of Cozad passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney at the age of 72. Karen Kay Stear was born July 17, 1949 in Lexington, Nebraska to Carol and Norma (Block) Chittenden and an older brother, Gary. She was a proud Cozad resident her whole life, graduating from Cozad High School in 1967. She attended and graduated from Queen Ann Beauty School of Cosmetology in Kearney, NE, beginning a 45 year-long career as a hairdresser to many in the Cozad area. She married Bill Cover in 1971 and had three boys whom she cherished deeply: Jason, Joshua, and Matthew. She then found her soul mate in Ron Stear whom she married on May 19, 1998, adding his three daughters - Jayne Gayman, Cathy Hanna and Debbie Neill - to her beloved family. Karen was known for her compassion and care for others. She spent years caring for ailing family members in their homes and when they were in the hospital or in the nursing home she continued to visit and care for them. Karen was quick to smile and chose to live her life more focused on the blessings around her than the disappointments. She was known as a gracious hostess, regularly entertaining friends and family in her home. It was commonplace to see Karen on her riding mower with her iced tea. She said it was the best therapy she could have. Karen loved tending to her flower beds and gardens. She was an amazing artist and made many crafts, even traveling around Nebraska for a number of years to sell her crafts at various art shows. Karen also had an affinity for birds. In her last few years, she befriended a cardinal, Darryl, who regularly visited her and Ron, tapping on her laundry room window when he wanted her to refill the feeder. And, of course, she obliged. Karen also had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her occasional pranks, especially in her younger years. In fact, she was part of a group from her class who painted puma tracks leading up the front steps of the old high school. Although it couldn’t be proven, the principal was certain she was involved. So infamous was this act, during one of their class reunions, the original group - Karen included - went back and repainted the puma tracks before the school was torn down. In her years with Ron, he became an unassuming target for her harmless pranks. During his naps she would put smiley face stickers on the back of his head or paint his toenails and put his socks back on so he wouldn’t know until he removed his socks in front of everyone following their tennis games. She even put masking tape over his glasses once so when he put them on he briefly thought he was blind. Karen’s mischievousness was always tempered with her desire to bring laughter to others. Karen was also known for her stubbornness. Once she made up her mind, the only person who could change it was Karen. She was also wise, offering insight to those who came to her for counsel and consolation. She was a careful listener who was less concerned with judging than with letting one know they had been heard and that she cared for them and their situation. Karen declared her trust in Christ and left this life for her new one on August 14, 2021 following a short battle with cancer. Those left to celebrate Karen’s life are her husband Ron Stear of Cozad; sons, Jason (wife Tamra and son Caleb); Joshua (daughter Amaris Crandall) of Kearney and Matthew (wife Angie and sons Levi Cover and Brad Waugh) of Cozad; brother, Gary Chittenden (wife Pam) of Leeds, Maine and niece Sarah (Adam) Reed of North Platte; sister-in-law, Joan Stear of Gothenburg; Ron’s daughters Jayne (husband Doug and children), Cathy Hanna (husband Dave and children), and Debbie (husband Mike and children); sister of the heart and cousin Lanna Haflich (husband Ron and children Hillary Zuege (Vic) and Jake) of Holdrege; aunt, Martha (Chittenden) Burton of Branson, MO; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Karen Kay Stear (1949-2021)

Wilma Arlene (Winters) Neal, 90, of North Platte, went home to be with her Lord on August 17, 2021 at her home.&nbsp; She was born of Warren and Ora (Miller) Winters, of Ringgold, Nebraska, on September 25, 1930.&nbsp; She attended elementary rural school at District 1 in McPherson County and graduated from high school in McPherson County in May of 1948 as valedictorian of her class.&nbsp; The following September she began teaching rural school and on October 15, 1948 was married to her high school sweetheart, John L. Neal.&nbsp; She taught in McPherson and Thomas County for 15 years.&nbsp; Teaching was her gift and passion. Wilma and John were married in a ceremony at the Tryon courthouse with family members present.&nbsp; To this union 2 sons were born, James William (Jim) on August 28, 1951, and Rex Jay on January 2, 1960. When Wilma’s mother could no longer stay alone John and Wilma took her into their home and cared for her for several years.&nbsp; After her mother’s passing Wilma worked at Burger King.&nbsp; After her son Rex was gone, she worked for Rainbow Carpet Cleaning Company. Wilma repented of her sins March 8, 1959 and found forgiveness of sins and a real peace with God.&nbsp; Three months later she surrendered her life to the leadership of the Holy Spirit and her heart was transformed by the cleansing power of the shed blood of Jesus and she found real rest in Him.&nbsp; She was a member of the Ringgold Free Methodist Church for over 55 years.  </figure>Wilma Arlene (Winters) Neal, 90, of North Platte, went home to be with her Lord on August 17, 2021 at her home.&nbsp; She was born of Warren and Ora (Miller) Winters, of Ringgold, Nebraska, on September 25, 1930.&nbsp; She attended elementary rural school at District 1 in McPherson County and graduated from high school in McPherson County in May of 1948 as valedictorian of her class.&nbsp; The following September she began teaching rural school and on October 15, 1948 was married to her high school sweetheart, John L. Neal.&nbsp; She taught in McPherson and Thomas County for 15 years.&nbsp; Teaching was her gift and passion. Wilma and John were married in a ceremony at the Tryon courthouse with family members present.&nbsp; To this union 2 sons were born, James William (Jim) on August 28, 1951, and Rex Jay on January 2, 1960. When Wilma’s mother could no longer stay alone John and Wilma took her into their home and cared for her for several years.&nbsp; After her mother’s passing Wilma worked at Burger King.&nbsp; After her son Rex was gone, she worked for Rainbow Carpet Cleaning Company. Wilma repented of her sins March 8, 1959 and found forgiveness of sins and a real peace with God.&nbsp; Three months later she surrendered her life to the leadership of the Holy Spirit and her heart was transformed by the cleansing power of the shed blood of Jesus and she found real rest in Him.&nbsp; She was a member of the Ringgold Free Methodist Church for over 55 years. Keith Douglas Nichelson, 64, of North Platte, passed away August 16, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Keith was born February 4, 1957 to Robert and Ida (Collins) Nichelson in North Platte.&nbsp; Keith attended North Platte Public Schools and graduated from North Platte High with the class of 1975.&nbsp; Keith married Kari Smith on October 25, 1975 in North Platte.&nbsp; The couple made their home in North Platte where Keith worked for Clifford McNeal putting up hay, a mink farm for the Weldon family, then went to work at Shrake Auto Body where he worked for over 40 years.&nbsp; He loved fishing, camping, woodworking and was very family oriented.&nbsp; Keith loved his grandchildren and always hosted Sunday morning breakfast for the family. LaDonna 'Donna' Gibbs, age 84, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at Great&nbsp;Plains Health on August 15, 2021. Donna was born to Merle and Dolly Razes on January 13, 1937, in North Platte where she was raised and later graduated from North Platte High School with the Class of '54. On July 29, 1954, Donna married Robert D.' Bob' Gibbs in North Platte.&nbsp; They were blessed with 55 years of marriage and three children. Donna enjoyed serving lunches at Washington and Jefferson Elementary Schools. Donna was a member of Episcopal Church of Our Savior, the Eagles Auxiliary and Junior Old Timers Club #8 as well as a Christian women's club, bowling league, Bunco club and TOPS.&nbsp; She and Bob enjoyed traveling and camping with their friends and wintered a few years in Arizona and New Mexico.&nbsp; Donna dearly loved her kids, grandchildren and&nbsp;great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; parents, Merle and Dolly Razes; and sister, Deana McCleary. Francis "Andy" Hoban, age 75, of Lewellen, NE, died August 11, 2021, at Perkins County Hospital in Grant, NE. Andy was born at home in North Platte on July 10, 1946, to William and Lillian Hoban. At the age of 16, he moved from North Platte to Stevenson, WA, where he went on to graduate from high school. Andy was drafted into the U.S. Army in March of 1966 and was stationed in Baumholder, Germany. He was honorably discharged from his military service in March of '68 and continued to honor our country as a member of the American Legion. Andy went on to attended Clark College in Vancouver, WA, then transitioned to his 37 year career working for the phone company as a Network Technician. He started at Pacific Northwest Bell and eventually retired from Quest in 2008. While at Pacific Northwest Bell, he met the love of his life, Markieta McClain, and they married on June 29, 1974, in Clackmas, OR. Andy's greatest adventure began in Spokane, WA, when he was blessed with two children, Heather and Jacob. In 2005, he became a grandfather, his most cherished title. Andy enjoyed salmon fishing at the coast, hunting for water fowl, and camping at Banks Lake with his family. After many years in the Pacific Northwest, Andy returned to Nebraska and settled in Valentine. He continued working for the phone company and coached Post #90 American Legion Baseball for 15 years alongside his dear friend, Kent Lopez. He also acted as the Post #90 Commander. After retiring in 2008, Andy and his family managed Big Alkali Fish Camp for 6 years. He spent many of his days exploring America from the Red Woods to Niagara Falls with his camper in tow. His final adventure brought him to Lake McConaughy where he and Markii shared endless sunsets from their home, 'The Roost'. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillian Hoban; in-laws, Ray and Juanita McClain; brothers, William 'Ron', Morris 'Moe', Fay and John 'Buck' Hoban; sister, Helen Rogers; sisters-in-law, Anna Hoban and Shirley Hoban; and brother-in-law, Douglas E. McClain. Andy Hoban (1946-2021)

Mary Jo Thielen Nelsen passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021 at her home in Cozad at the age of 84. Mary Jo was born March 20, 1937 in Exira, Iowa to Bernard and Bernice (Kerwin) Thielen. Mary Jo attended country school in rural Exira and transferred to Exira High School where she graduated with the class of 1955. Mary Jo married Richard Nelsen on June 13, 1959. While Richard&nbsp; was attending law school at the University of Iowa, one of his fraternity brothers came up with the nickname of "Tina" from Thielen and the name remained. Son Greg was born and the family moved to Des Moines where Richard worked for Bankers Life and Tina took care of Greg. Richard responded to an ad for a partnership in Claude Berreckman's law firm and the family moved to Cozad. Son Eric and daughter Jill were adopted after the move. Tina worked at various businesses including Dodd's Dept. Store, Cozad Fashions and State Farm Insurance. Her passion for people showed through when son Greg purchased Napa Auto Parts Store and she worked there for 20 years. During this time, Tina and Richard traveled the world experiencing beautiful and exotic places. After her retirement, Tina continued to be involved in the community. She was a member of the Cozad Ambassadors, Kiwanis, 100th Meridian Museum, pitch club and bridge club. In September of 2002, Tina suffered a life changing stroke. She embraced it with dignity and grace. Tina's greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. Her infectious smile and bubbly personality made everyone feel special. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Richard; brother, Tom Thielen; her in-laws, Fred and Tess Nelsen; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Johnson and Karma Nelsen. Mary Jo "Tina" Nelsen (1937-2021)

Geoffery Lee Curtis Allen, 23, of Wellfleet, Nebraska, passed away August 12, 2021 as a result of homicide. He was born on January 23, 1998 to Gregory Allen and Rebecca Lowrey in North Platte. Geoffery attended North Platte High School.&nbsp; He worked for family in their businesses and construction.&nbsp; He raised animals with his family at Wellfleet. Geoffery enjoyed fishing with his grandpa Butch Cooper and raising and taking care of animals.&nbsp; He had a very big heart and a loving relationship with his family. Kevin Maline, 57, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died August 14, 2021, after a short battle with cancer, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. Juanita (Jane) Bratcher, 79 of Gothenburg, Nebraska passed away August 14, 2021 at Hilltop Estates. She was born October 30, 1941 in San Antonio, Texas, daughter of Arturo Chapa and Albertina Lopez-Chapa.&nbsp; She attended San Antonio Public Schools and San Antonio Commercial College before meeting her husband, Arnold Bratcher. They moved to Auburn, Nebraska where she became an administrative assistant for Nebraska City Utilities in Nebraska City, NE for many years and later worked in the International Agribusiness department at The Hartford in Omaha, NE. After retiring in 2009, she moved to Gothenburg to be closer to her daughter and family. After battling some illness, she entered Hilltop Estates in November of 2015. When she was able, Jane enjoyed walking and going for drives with her dog. She was also an avid fan of the series, ER, watching all 15 seasons over and over and she was entertained when she attended "Move and Groove" sessions at Hilltop. Jane is survived by her daughter, Stacy Healey, son-in-law, Chris Healey; grandsons, Will Healey and Ryan Healey and granddaughters; Eve and Layla Healey. She was the oldest of eight children survived by brothers; Rudy Chapa, Ozzie Chapa, and Ty Chapa, sisters, Bertha Rojas and Olga Lillagore, along with other loving family members in Texas. Jane is also survived by brother-in-law Ron Bratcher and sister-in-law, Donna Bratcher.&nbsp; Jane is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold; son, Chris Bratcher, sister; Yolanda Chapa and brother; Arturo Chapa Jr. A family graveside service will take place at a later date. Patricia “Patsy” Claire Potter, 82, of North Platte, NE, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 14th, 2021 at Linden Court. Born on June 3, 1939 in Hollywood, CA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mable “Treiber” Keitges. She was the oldest child of six and was the only girl. She spent most of her childhood growing up in Holstein, IA. Patsy graduated with a BA in Education from Wayne State College in 1961. She met her college sweetheart, Donald Potter, there and they recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. After graduation, she taught in the Sioux City school system for 2 years before raising a family of 4 children. She was a member of NEA and La Sertoma Club. Some of her favorite activities were golfing, playing tennis, bowling, playing cards and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving in addition to her husband Don, are children, Jill Mapes (Brian) of Arvada, CO, Bobbi Smidt (Randy) of North Platte, NE, Becky Barnes (Mark) of Arvada, CO, and Michael Potter (Sarah) of Sutherland, NE; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; brothers Jim Keitges of Fresno, CA, Joe Keitges of Adel, IA, and Robert Keitges of Tucson, AZ. She was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Mable Keitges and brothers Patrick (her twin) and Tom Keitges. William W. Beamish, age 78, of Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Ogallala Community Hospital . William was born in Portland, Oregon on St. Patrick’s Day 1943 to Warren and Gladys (Warren) Beamish. They later moved to Chadron, NE where he attended all his years of elementary and middle school. Upon his high school graduation from Chadron High School in 1962, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served for four years. William married Betty Davis in 1967 and they had three children together; Rebecca, Vincent and Mark. They remained friends to this day. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;After discharging from the Navy and starting his family, William spent almost his entire career working as a Nursing Assistant for Fort Meade VAMC in Sturgis, SD. When he eventually retired, he had put in almost 40 years with the Federal Government. William married Mary Eleanor in 1992 and they enjoyed 29 wonderful years together. After a couple of cross country moves, 14 years ago, they decided to put down roots in Ogallala and have loved every minute of it. He was proud of Ogallala and it’s people, and breakfast at Taco Jan's was one of the highlights of William's day.&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; William loved animals, big and small. He often reminisced about pets he had growing up and was constantly concerned about the welfare of abused animals. He loved to take photographs, to cook and to collect cookbooks. He was a shopper. That man was always looking for a bargain. He was known for telling a joke or two and even when his health started to falter, he still didn’t go anywhere without his top hat securely perched on his head. He attended New Hope Church. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He is survived by his wife, Mary, daughter, Rebecca and her husband, Ryan Oatts of Ogallala, his son, Mark Beamish of Ontario, Canada, his sister Bonnie and her husband, Butch Moody of Chadron, his grandchildren, RJ and Zoey Oatts of Ogallala and three stepsons Todd, Shawn and Kevin Marshall. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Gladys and his son, Vincent. William W. Beamish (1943-2021)

Art&nbsp;Kesterson, age 92, of North Platte, passed away at Centennial Park Retirement Village on Wednesday, October 14, 2020.

Art was born January 11, 1928, to Jeard and Ruth Kesterson in North Platte where he grew up. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1946. At the age of 16, Art started working at the Conoco Bulk Plant with his father and they worked together for 18 years until Jerry died. Art continued working for Conoco with his wife, Theresa, who did the books. He quit after 33 years then began driving and delivering seed corn for a few years and after trying a few different jobs, Art eventually retired.

On September 21, 1947, Art was united in marriage to Theresa Vencill. They made their home North Platte and were members of First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Art and Theresa enjoyed motorcycle riding together, camping, time at their cabin at Lake Maloney and trips to the Black Hills. Art really loved his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; parents, Jerry and Ruth Kesterson, and in-laws, Ervin and Marguerite Vencill; sister-in-law, Cleda Dowhower McCammon; brothers-in-law, Wayne Dowhower and George McCammon; and great-grandson, Jacob Criswell.

Art is survived by his daughter, Judy (Bill) Frazier, of Marion, Iowa; grandchildren, Tracy (Chad) Criswell of Altoona, Iowa, and Ann (Adam) Rohret, of Urbandale, Iowa; five great-grandkids, Noah, Alexandra, Arthur and Charlotte Criswell and Adalynn Rohret; a niece and nephew; and other family members.

Cremation was chosen and inurnment will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Graveside service honoring Art and his wife Theresa Kesterson, 87, will be held at 10:30 am Friday, August 20th at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens.&nbsp; Odean Colonial Chapel is in charge or arrangements.
