Lloyd Lyle Speicher, age 97, of St. Louis, Missouri, formerly of North Platte, Nebraska, died on November 23, 2020.&nbsp; Lloyd was born on November 27, 1922, in Wray, Colorado to Jesse C Speicher and Mary V. “Saville” Speicher.

He graduated from High School in Wray, Colorado then graduated from Kearney State Teachers College in Kearney, Nebraska with a 4 year teaching degree. Later he did 27 graduate hours. Lloyd served in the United States Air Force, as Corporal, serving in World War II. He taught school for 3 years in Holyoke, Colorado and 27 years in the North Platte Public School system as a 6th&nbsp;grade teacher, retiring in 1988. He was a very respected teacher and always remembered his students’ names. Lloyd was a member of the Nazarene Church of North Platte, and the Diamond K Kiwanis Club. He was very active in church ministry as a worship song leader, choir director, Sunday School teacher, and Church Board Member. He loved helping his friends and neighbors, especially mowing their lawns. He served as on call Chaplain for Great Plains Regional Medical Center for about 15 years until he was 90 years of age and served as president of Lincoln County Historical Society for several years, while doing volunteer work for the museum.

Lloyd married Geraldine Day on December 22, 1946. To this union 3 sons were born; David L. Speicher, Daryl E. Speicher and Darwin L. Speicher.&nbsp;&nbsp; Geraldine passed away in 1980. Then Lloyd married Jennie (Downing) Crow on July 3, 1984.&nbsp; She passed away in 1991.

Survivors include sons; David L. (Kathy) Speicher, Darwin L. (Cindy) Speicher, stepdaughter; Virginia (Milo) Anderson Bauder, stepsons; Stanley D. (Donna) Crow and Marvin B. (Donita) Crow; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren, and wonderful nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by parents Jesse C. and Mary V. Speicher, wives Geraldine and Jennie, son Daryl, grandson Christian, brothers Harold (Ruth) Speicher, Bernard (Ilene) Speicher, Gordon (Cathy) Speicher, and sisters Esther (Orville) Winter and Irma (Jack) Sloniker.

Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at Parkview Community Church of the Nazarene, North Platte, Nebraska with the Rev. David Speicher and Rev. Darwin Speicher officiating. Burial will be at Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens in North Platte on Monday, November 30, 2020 at 10:00 A.M.&nbsp;&nbsp; Memorials are suggested to Parkview Community Church of the Nazarene in North Platte, Nebraska.

Ardis married Quentin Ginapp in 1950. To this union 2 sons were born; Kenneth and Michael. Ardis taught school west of Cozad, while living on the ranch south of Brady, Nebraska; moving to North Platte in 1973. They owned Ginapp Town and Country Realty Business. She was a member of the Catholic Community in North Platte for many years. Remembered as a Christian above all else, putting Jesus above all, served in the church as a Eucharistic Minister.

Survivors include: 2 sons, Kenneth Ginapp, North Platte, Nebraska, Michael (Mary) Ginapp, Stapleton, Nebraska; grandchildren; Tony Ginapp, Kearney, Nebraska, and John Thomas (Misty) Ginapp, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren; Bishop Ginapp, Jada Gentrya niece; Judy Beveridge of Omaha, Nebraska; and special friends; Michael &amp; Joan Davis, North Platte, NE.

Ardis "Jo" Ginapp  (1929-2020)

Roscella was born June 3, 1937 to Royal and Thelma (Geiser) Snyder at Round Valley north of Broken Bow, Nebraska.&nbsp; They&nbsp;lived at East Weissert and Comstock in Nebraska. Rose graduated from Comstock High School. After graduation she went to Broken Bow and worked for Buzz &amp; Betty at the Hobbler Café.&nbsp; The coffee men couldn’t remember her name, so they nicknamed her Rose and that stuck with her the rest of her life.

In June 1955, she married Don Baker, Sr and to this union four children were born. Christine, Don, Jr, Pamela, and Samuel. Later they were divorced, and the kids and Rose moved to Merna, Nebraska and they lived there until all the kids graduated from High School.

Rose moved to Broken Bow and worked at the Heritage Inn, Elks Club, and the Tumbleweed Café, a job she really enjoyed.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents Royal and Thelma Snyder, sister and brother-in-law Irene and Morris Fisher.

Rose is survived by children Christine Sittler of Mullen, Don (Jeanine) Baker of Brewster, Pamela (Cecil) Coons of Mullen, and Samuel (Sherry) Baker of North Platte, 11 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and one on the way, brothers and sister Darlene (Bert) Watson, Clifford (Suanne) Snyder, and Robert (Geri) Snyder.

Glenn George Bartels was born the youngest of 5 children on May 14, 1939 to George and Helen Bartels in Peetz, Colorado.&nbsp; He graduated from Peetz High School in 1957 where he was actively involved with the school’s FFA program.&nbsp; After graduating, he attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado where he met his beloved wife Carol, and the two were married on August 21, 1960.&nbsp; Glenn later transferred to Colorado State University and earned his degree in Vocational Agriculture.&nbsp; The couple moved to Mitchell, Nebraska in 1961 Where Glenn held his first and only teaching position. While at Mitchell, Glenn expanded the FFA program to the largest it has ever been.&nbsp; In 1963 they welcomed their first child Mike.&nbsp; In 1965, Glenn, Carol, and Mike moved to North Platte, Nebraska where he worked as a land appraiser for the John Hancock Insurance, CO.&nbsp; In the spring of 1966, Glenn was making a call on the First State Bank in Gothenburg, Nebraska and the bank president, Earl VanSteenburg, offered him a job.&nbsp; The family moved to Gothenburg that summer and were greeted later that year by their second child Kevin, and in 1973, third child Scott joined the family.&nbsp; In 1974, Glenn became the president of First State Bank and held that position for 20 years.

Glenn was very active in community affairs and development.&nbsp; Glenn was active in the First United Methodist Church, the Lion’s Club, the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department, a founding member of the Gothenburg Improvement Company (GIC), the Knights of AKSARBEN, and the Nebraska Diplomats.

Glenn’s first major community accomplishment was being a member of the hospital board and was instrumental in the building of a new hospital, which today has become one of the most successful in the area.&nbsp; Through his work with the hospital board, Glenn was instrumental in the recruitment of numerous doctors and&nbsp; other health professionals.&nbsp; As a member of the GIC, Glenn was instrumental in the recruitment of Farmland Industries, Goshen Rubber Company, Baldwin Filters, Frito-Lay, and a host of other businesses and individuals.&nbsp; All of Glenn’s community involvement helped with Gothenburg being named an All American City.&nbsp; One of Glenn’s crowning achievements was the building of the Gothenburg Senior Center.&nbsp; Through his own mother, Glenn saw the need for a place for Gothenburg’s senior citizens to congregate.&nbsp; This need was so great that through fundraising, Glenn was able to secure funding for the entire project in just a few days!

Glenn’s community activism and recruitment efforts resulted in numerous awards from the GIC, the Dawson Area Development, the Knights of AKSARBEN, and the Nebraska Diplomat’s prestigious “Sowers Award” given for his extraordinary ability to bring business and industry to Nebraska.&nbsp; His recruitment activities never ceased as numerous family vacations, at some point, involved him “selling” Nebraska or Gothenburg!&nbsp; In fact, shortly after having triple bypass heart surgery, Glenn found out one of the PA’s was finishing her training and was actively trying to recruit her to Gothenburg!&nbsp; In retirement, Glenn used his gift of gab and landed the perfect job working for the Nebraska Department of Tourism.&nbsp; Glenn loved Gothenburg and worked to improve the community until he no longer could.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Genevieve McKinney and Dorothy Davis, grandson Shaun, and special nieces and nephews Larry Davis and Mark and Cindy Fleming. 

Glenn is survived by his beloved wife Carol of 60 years, sons Mike (Linda), Kevin (Becky), and Scott (Wendy), grandchildren Steve, Elizabeth, CC, Ali, Michael, Ty, Addison, Maria and Trey, and great grandchildren Hayden, Shelby, Finley, Jaxx, and Ethan, and two sisters Etta (Kenneth) Williams and Marlene “Corky” (Kenneth) Fleming.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, November 29, 2020, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm with the family present from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Monday, November 30, 2020 at 10:30 am with Pastor Grace Gichuru officiating. The funeral will be live streamed and the link can be found under Glenns name on www.blasestrauser.com. Masks are required and all CDC guidelines and current DHM's will be followed.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Interment will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the family for a scholarship that is being created in Glenn's name.

Glenn is survived by his beloved wife Carol of 60 years, sons Mike (Linda), Kevin (Becky), and Scott (Wendy), grandchildren Steve, Elizabeth, CC, Ali, Michael, Ty, Addison, Maria and Trey, and great grandchildren Hayden, Shelby, Finley, Jaxx, and Ethan, and two sisters Etta (Kenneth) Williams and Marlene “Corky” (Kenneth) Fleming.Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Sunday, November 29, 2020, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm with the family present from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm.Services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Monday, November 30, 2020 at 10:30 am with Pastor Grace Gichuru officiating. Jeannette Irene Waterman, age 64, of Ogallala, Nebraska passed away, Thursday, November 19, 2020 at her home in Ogallala.

Jeannette was born January 10, 1956 to William and Katherine (Strong) Kohler in North Platte, Nebraska.

Jeannette went to school in Ogallala and graduated from Ogallala High School in 1974.

&nbsp;In 1974 Jeannette married Lynn R. Hodges, Sr., making their home in Julesburg, Colorado, where they farmed. They divorced in 1981 and she returned to Ogallala.&nbsp; &nbsp;She married George R. Elliott in 1984, making their home in Ogallala. He passed away in 1997.&nbsp; In 2000, Jeannette married Eugene Waterman.

Jeannette worked at Indian Hills Manor and Paks for a number of years.&nbsp; She retired from Indian Hills in 2016 for health reasons.

Jeannette loved to cook, bake, collect recipe books and going camping.&nbsp;

Jeannette is survived by her husband, Eugene, of Ogallala; 2 sons; Lynn (Candace) Hodges, Jr., of Chappell, NE; David (Carol) Waterman, of Ogallala; 3 daughters; Shana (Bryan) Martin, of Weldona; Tamantha (Rick) Gage, of Roscoe; Michelle (Cliff) Joyce, of Jacksonville, FL; 4 brothers; Bobby (Joyce) Kohler, of North Platte; Jerry Kohler, of Kearney, NE; Dennis (Barb) Kohler, of North Platte; Danny (Terri) Kohler, of Acworth, GA; 1 sister, Mary Alice (Rodney) Nickel, of Windom, MN; a sister-in-law, Janice Kohler, of Lincoln; 9 grandchildren; Randy (Jaime) Gage; Tracey Hodges; Gunnar Hodges and Oakley Hodges, all of Chappell; Jonathan (Amanda) Martin, of Weldona, CO; Jessica (Cody) Pineda, of Allenspark, CO; Bodie Runnels, of Jacksonville, FL; Caitlyn, Chloe and Matthew Waterman, all of Ogallala; and 5 great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established to the Indian Hills Manor in Ogallala in her memory.

A register book signing will be held, Monday, November 30, 2020, from 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the Draucker Funeral Home Chapel in Ogallala.

Jeannette Irene Waterman  (1956-2020)

Dolores Graff, age 88, of McCook, NE passed away at Hillcrest Nursing Home on November 21, 2020.

Dolores Margaret Orten was born in a farmhouse between Beardsley, Kansas and McDonald, Kansas to Charles and Cora (Haller) Orten on July 24, 1932.&nbsp; She was their sixth daughter and eighth child.&nbsp; She grew up on the Orten farm and attended country school through the 8th grade.&nbsp; She attended Girls Catholic High School in Hays, Kansas, for two years, and then transferred to St. Scholastica Academy in Cañon City, Colorado, graduating with the class of 1950.&nbsp; She then attended Marymount School of Nursing, graduating in 1953 with a degree in nursing.&nbsp; She passed her nursing exam and received her license as a registered nurse in Kansas in 1953.&nbsp; 

After graduation, she worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Atwood, Kansas, where she met and married Delbert Thomas in 1954.&nbsp; Dolores and Del were married in a double wedding ceremony with Duane Orten and Delores Schroeder on August 18, 1954.&nbsp; They lived in Lincoln, Nebraska, for a year, moved to Colorado, then moved to the San Francisco Bay area in California where Del worked as an electrician and Dolores worked at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, California.&nbsp; They moved back to Kansas and the Orten farm in 1958.&nbsp; Del was injured in a truck collision in 1959 and died a few months later in 1960.&nbsp; They had been blessed with four children - two girls, Delrae and Becky, both born in California, and two boys, Michael and Scott, both born in Kansas.&nbsp; 

Dolores and her children moved to McCook, Nebraska, in May 1960, where Dolores worked at St. Catherine’s Hospital and the children attended St. Patrick Elementary School.&nbsp; In 1966, she met Peter Graff, who had lost his wife to cancer.&nbsp; Pete also had four children - Diane, Susan, Mark and Todd.&nbsp; Dolores and Pete were married October 15, 1966, with all eight children in the wedding party.&nbsp; Diane, the oldest daughter, was the maid of honor and Susan, Delrae and Becky were junior bridesmaids.&nbsp; Pete’s brother, Leo, was his best man; Mike, Mark and Scott were groomsmen; and Todd, the youngest of the eight, was the ring bearer.&nbsp; Dolores and Pete had three more children - Chad, Mary Christine (Christi) and Jon.

Dolores was inspired by her love for family, church, community service and travel.&nbsp; She always said “your children are your treasure,” and she believed and lived this faithfully.&nbsp; She made trips to Europe and all around the U.S. to attend conferences, visit family, and discover new places.&nbsp; She loved to visit her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and attended as many baptisms, first communions, confirmations and graduations as possible.&nbsp; She was a long-time parishioner of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, frequently singing at Sunday mass and bicycling to daily mass.&nbsp; &nbsp;She had at least one of her 11 children enrolled in St. Patrick Elementary School for 29 straight years.

In 1992, she received the Cor Christi (Heart of Christ) Award from Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska for her lifelong service work.&nbsp; She was an active member of her community, serving two terms on the McCook School Board; creating McCook’s recycling program, for which she received the McCook Chamber’s Community Builder Award; teaching natural family planning and serving as a nursing consultant; and volunteering frequently for such organizations as Meals-on-Wheels and the Red Cross blood mobile.&nbsp;&nbsp;She enjoyed learning new things, sometimes taking classes at the college, and liked to put her hands to use gardening, trying arts and crafts, writing letters, and cooking.&nbsp; Amazingly, she did this while raising 11 children and contributing actively to the lives of her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She lives on as an inspiration and example to many, and she loved to introduce and connect people to one another for the betterment of all, using her tremendous gift of memory to remember everyone’s name and family history.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name and given to St. Patrick Elementary School.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Arthur John Werner, age 59, of Palisade, Nebraska passed peacefully on Sunday, November 22, 2020 surrounded by family at his son's home in Lincoln, Nebraska. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;John (as he was known) was born on January 16, 1961 in Sacramento, California.&nbsp; He graduated in 1979 from John F. Kennedy High School in Sacremento.&nbsp; John moved to Tahlequah, Oklahoma and joined the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;John married Tamara (Tammy) Merriam in Tahlequah, Oklahoma on February 14, 1990.&nbsp; The couple lived in Texas and Oklahoma before settling in Palisade, Nebraska in 1992.&nbsp; John was employed as a semi-truck driver for many years and was a mechanic on the side.&nbsp; He enjoyed dirt track racing and working on race cars.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Survivors include his son, Arthur C. "Ace" Werner and fiance Hannah Schultz of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughters Crystal Werner of Kearney, Nebraska and Aletha Hagan and Husband Bryan of Culbertson, Nebraska;&nbsp; a brother, David Werner of Palisade, Nebraska; his sister Barbara (Werner) Claus and husband Joe of Texas; aunt and uncle Mary and John Oesau of Wisconsin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.&nbsp; Also surviving John are his grandchildren Dakota Hagan, Colten Hagen, Dalten Hagen, Emma Hagan, Landon Werner, Braxton Werner, Grayson Werner, Jersi Winkler, and Easton Winkler. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;John was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur W. Arthur John Werner  (1961-2020)

Rose E. Wonch, age 89, of Stapleton, Nebraska died November 20, 2020, at her home. She was born April 28, 1931 to William K. and Fern “Tomlinson” Joedeman. Rose grew up on the Joedeman farm and went to Gandy grade school and a local country school, graduating from Logan County High School in Gandy, Nebraska.

Rose married James Wonch on March 12, 1951. To this union 4 boys were born; Lee, Bill, Jim and Jay.

Rose accepted the Lord, in her teen year at Maranatha Bible Camp. She was a member of the Gandy Bible Church in Gandy, Nebraska.

Rose had 3 brothers; Henry, Robert and Harold, 4 sisters; Lila, Florance, Murene and Willa Vae.

She is survived by her sons and their spouses; Cecil (Lee) and Diane Wonch, William (Bill) and Gwen Gail Wonch all of Gandy, Nebraska, James (Jim) Barb Wonch of Aurora, Nebraska and Jay and Patty Wonch of North Platte, Nebraska; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and even great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held 9:00 A.M. on Friday, November 27, 2020, at Gandy Community Bible Church, Gandy, Nebraska with the Pastor Frank Scott and Pastor Lee Wonch officiating. Burial will be at the Waldheim Cemetery, Callaway, Nebraska following the service.

Visitation will be from noon to 7:00pm, on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home, North Platte, Nebraska. &nbsp;Adams and Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Gary Lee Johnson, age 73, of Tryon, Nebraska died unexpectedly at Great Plains Health in North Platte, Nebraska on Friday, November 20, 2020.

Gary was born August 1, 1947, to Phillip and Kathryn Johnson at Franklin, NE where he grew up. Gary graduated from Franklin High School then went to Chadron State College where he earned his B.A. Degree in Education. He started his teaching career in Bruning then Dodge, Brule and eventually Tryon. Gary was a Shop Teacher, which he loved, and taught Driver's Ed. He taught all his life.

He married Mary Lu Thoms in Lincoln, Nebraska and they had three kids. Gary was very proud of his kids and their accomplishments and smitten of his grandkids. He enjoyed refinishing antiques, liked cooking, and was a collector of things. Gary especially loved being around people and in social gatherings; he could visit with anyone and did not know a stranger. He also had a unique sense of humor and liked cutting firewood 'cause it warmed you twice, once when you cut it and again when you hauled it.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Kathryn, and brother, Lyle Johnson; and his wife, Mary Lu.

Survivors include his children, Caleb Wade Johnson, of Ogallala, Nebraska, Adam Clark (Jessica) Johnson, of McCook, Nebraska and Sarah Marie Johnson, of Brule, Nebraska; grandchildren, Eli Franklin, Neleigh Ann, Landon Brian, Austen Michael, Sadie Mae Lu, Paisley Marie, Willow Renae, Juniper Rain and Hazyl Lynn; his brother, Mark (Carol) Johnson of Gaylord, Kansas; sister-in-law, Delores Johnson, of Bloomington; and other family.

Noel Eugene Wilkins The First passed away peacefully at home at 4:09 am on Thursday, November 19, 2020 surrounded by his wife and family after his strong but short battle with lung cancer.

Noel is survived by wife Jane (Peterson) Wilkins of Bellevue, NE (Previously Callaway, NE); Daughter Kimberly (Wilkins) Baldwin of Broken Bow, NE; Sons Noel (Theresa) Wilkins and Shawn Wilkins both of&nbsp;Metropolis, IL; Stepson Richard Jacobson of Gothenburg, NE; Stepdaughters Larinda (David) Burgess and Christina Navejar both of Bellevue, NE; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two great-great grandsons and several extended family members.

Noel was preceded in death by his father Joseph Richard Wilkins; Mother Nellie Marie Ellis-Wilkins; Brother Jim Wilkins; Sister Jean (Wilkins) Nickerson; Half-brothers Doug and Junior Wilkins; Half-sisters Evelyn Wilkins, Mertle (Wilkins) Arvil, and Opal Bunch; Step-daughter Deborah (Jacobson) Johnson; Grandson Andrew Wilkins; Step-grandson Matthew Sears and several cousins, nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Noel was born on April 12, 1944 in Metropolis, Illinois to Joseph and Nellie Wilkins. Noel joined the army while still a teenager and served three years. In 1963 Noel married Barbara Robinson and to this union three children were born: Kimberly, Noel 2nd, and Shawn. After his divorce Noel moved to Nebraska where he met Jane. Jane and Noel were married on December 18, 1978 and from this union Noel gained four stepchildren Deborah, Richard, Larinda, and Christina.

After traveling around the United States for work Jane and Noel settled on the 25 acres in Callaway, Nebraska where they built their dream home. Noel and Jane lived on their farm until the summer of this year when they moved to Bellevue, Nebraska to be close to daughters Larinda and Christi after being diagnosed with lung cancer.

At this time due to COVID-19 the family has chosen to not have any services. A celebration of life is being planned for the Spring or Summer of 2021 in the Arnold/Callaway area, which Noel considered home. Archie Boyd Crisp was born on October 7, 1946 to Kenneth Wayne and Doris (Burnett) Crisp in Ponca, Oklahoma.&nbsp; He grew up in Denver and Fort Morgan, Colorado.&nbsp; Archie attended school in Fort Morgan and graduated in 1964.

On July 24, 1965 Archie was married to Karen Jean Mese at Fort Morgan.&nbsp; To this union two sons were born, Bryan Lee Crisp and Douglas Anthony Crisp.&nbsp; He joined the Army and was honorably discharged after three years of service on March 20, 1969.

After the service, the family moved back to Fort Morgan, where Archie went to work for the US Postal Service.&nbsp; After retiring Archie and Karen moved to Mullen, NE in 2003 to be closer to family.

He loved building and flying ultra-lights, prospecting for gold and racing stock cars.&nbsp; His favorite ways to help pass the time was reading and watching history shows.&nbsp; He enjoyed spending time and having coffee and sharing stories with friends.

Archie was the oldest of three children, a brother Les Crisp and a sister Brenda Crisp Edwards.

Archie was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and his wife.

Edgins, age 68, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Emerald Care Center in Cozad, Nebraska.&nbsp; Anne was born on July 30, 1952 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to Eleanor (Henderson) and Dolphus Hester.&nbsp; Her childhood years were spent in Spartanburg and at Greenwood Shores in South Carolina with her parents, siblings, and extended family.

Anne was united in marriage to Jack Edgins in Texas and to this union, a son, Jason, and a daughter, Jennifer, were welcomed.&nbsp; Anne also became a step-mother to Jack Jr. and Rhonda Sue.&nbsp; Anne and Jack eventually settled in Nebraska, with Jack passing away in 2015.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Anne enjoyed being a homemaker, collecting dolls, cooking for her family, knitting, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.&nbsp; She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the park and to the pool inthe summer.&nbsp; Taeo, her grandson, would like to share that Anne was the most caring and passionate about those she loved.&nbsp; She was strong and forgiving.&nbsp; She was a wonderful grandmother and mother.

Anne is survived by her children, Jason and Jennifer Edgins; grandchildren; and extended family.

Donald Alan Schaaf, age 83, of McCook, Nebraska passed away Friday, November 20, 2020, surrounded by his family at his home in McCook. &nbsp;

Don entered this life at the old St. Catherine Hospital, McCook, Nebraska, on February 5, 1937.&nbsp; He was the first of four children of Myron Donald and Esther Wilhelmina (Noetzlemann) Schaaf.&nbsp; Donald grew up in McCook and graduated from McCook High School with the Class of 1955.&nbsp; After graduating, Don attended The Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago Illinois.&nbsp; After the Art Institute, he married Mary Kathleen Drain at a church ceremony at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Chicago on May 30, 1959.&nbsp; To this union two children were born, Lorraine Anne and Lisa Diane.&nbsp;

Don served in the United States Army as a Radio Intercept Operator and was honorably discharged January 7, 1963.&nbsp; Don and Kathy and children returned to Chicago, where Donald was employed by J. Walter Thompson Advertising as an art director of experimental films; The Film Makers Inc. as director of television commercials, post-production editing; and at D’Arcy/McManus Advertising as vice president and executive art director and producer for television commercials.&nbsp;

He and Kathy returned to McCook in 1972, where Don was employed by radio station KBRL as a broadcaster and then the McCook Daily Gazette as a reporter, photographer and editorial cartoonist. Later he was the senior probation officer for the State of Nebraska until retirement in 1998.&nbsp; Don was an artist all his life, working with oils, acrylics and other types of media. Upon retirement, Donald lived in McCook, where he spent his time with oil and digital painting and computers.&nbsp;

Preceding Don in death were his parents, Myron and Esther Schaaf; brother, Stephen; sister, Theresa; and his father and mother in-in-law, Herbert and Lynn Drain.

Those left to celebrate his life include his wife of 61 years, Kathy Schaaf of McCook, NE; children, Lorraine (Schaaf) Sughroue of McCook and Lisa (Schaaf) Lee (John) of Loveland, Colorado; six grandchildren: Naomi Sughroue of Chadron, NE., Jessa Sughroue of LaVista, NE., Molly Sughroue of Highlands Ranch, CO, Trenton Frederick of Benkelman, NE, Noaa Frederick of Globe, Arizona, and Darby Frederick of Colorado Springs, CO; his sister, Monica (Schaaf) Miller and her husband, Bob of Salem, Oregon; nieces and nephews and other family members.&nbsp;

Walter Thompson Advertising as an art director of experimental films; The Film Makers Inc. as director of television commercials, post-production editing; and at D’Arcy/McManus Advertising as vice president and executive art director and producer for television commercials.&nbsp;He and Kathy returned to McCook in 1972, where Don was employed by radio station KBRL as a broadcaster and then the McCook Daily Gazette as a reporter, photographer and editorial cartoonist. Later he was the senior probation officer for the State of Nebraska until retirement in 1998.&nbsp; Don was an artist all his life, working with oils, acrylics and other types of media. Barbara Eileen Kohl-Matthews, age 74, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away November 19, 2020 at Bryan East in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born February 18, 1946 to Edward and Pauline (Larson) Kohl in Gothenburg, Nebraska.

Barbara grew up in North Platte. She married Gary A. Matthews in Stockville, Nebraska and to this union four children were born, Tom, Polly, Gary “Bo”, and Art. They lived in various places and lived in Germany where Gary was stationed. They eventually settled in North Platte.

Barbara was a waitress at the Skelly Inn and later worked at the visitor’s center at Cody Park. She enjoyed cooking and camping. She was a very good mother and grandmother to her family.

Hazel Georgia Anton 96 of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on November 17, 2020 at Linden Court in North Platte.

She was born on December 31, 1923 to Fred and Mary (Thompson) Kreger in Canton, IL.&nbsp; Hazel graduated from High School at Pardeeville, WI and attended Pitzie Beauty School in Waterloo, IA. She was united in marriage to Keith Anton on November 15, 1944. To this union two children were born, Stephen and Carol. They resided in La Porte City, IA until 1952 when they moved to a farm northwest of Mt. Auburn, IA. They returned to La Porte City in 2000.

She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, The United Methodist Women, BPW and the American Legion Auxiliary.

After the passing of her husband she moved to North Platte, NE to be closer to family.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; and husband; two brothers; and a sister.

Hazel is survived by her children, Stephen (Sherrie) Anton of Hershey, NE and Carol Anton of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to be designated at a later date.

Hazel Georgia Anton  (1923-2020)

Connie (Sanders) Westfahl, age 72, of North Platte, Nebraska went to be with our Lord on November 21, 2020, while staying at Emerald Nursing Home in Cozad, Nebraska.

Connie was born to Virgil and Delcie Sanders on January 22, 1948, in Sutherland, Nebraska. She attended elementary and high school in Ogallala, Nebraska, graduating from Ogallala High School in 1966 then from York College in 1970.

On September 16, 1972, Connie became a military wife when she married Scott Westfahl at the Church of Christ in Ogallala, Nebraska, a union that lasted until her death. Two daughters, Suzi and Robin, arrived a few years later to join the family. Before Scott retired they lived in Virginia, Iceland and Texas until settling in North Platte, Nebraska, and their vacations took them to Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany and many places around the United States.

Connie loved children and worked as a preschool teacher at several base day care facilities where Scott was stationed. She later owned and operated Connie's Grape Creek Day Care in San Angelo, Texas for 13 years, specializing in caring for special needs children.

In retirement, Connie and Scott became full-time RV'ers to work with National Evangelism with Sojourners, a Church of Christ mission that coordinates requests for help from Children's Homes, Bible Camps, small churches and similar organizations that need skilled volunteers. They were Sojourners for 12 years until Connie fell and received a traumatic brain injury, which ended her ability to travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Connie is survived by her husband, Scott, of North Platte, Nebraska; daughters, Suzi (Mike) Cochran, of Hope, Idaho, and Robin Schneider, of North Platte, Nebraska; grandchildren, Allison (Luke) Sommer, Shane Schneider and Benjamin Cochran; great-granddaughter, Paisley; her sister, Valerie (Terry) Stearns, of North Platte, Nebraska; and other family.

Glenard "Orval" Leverington was born October 14, 1937 in Burlington, Colorado to Glenard W. and&nbsp; M. Irene (Pinnell) Leverington.&nbsp; He passed away November 19, 2020 at Kearney Regional Center Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 83.&nbsp;

A private service will be held on Wednesday November 25, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Oconto Cemetery at Oconto, Nebraska with Pastor Arun Peters officiating.&nbsp; Govier Brothers Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.&nbsp; An online guestbook may be signed at&nbsp;<a href="http://www.govierbrothers.com/">www.govierbrothers.com</a>&nbsp;for words of encouragement and remembrance.&nbsp;

Orval's family moved to Custer County, NE. in July 1939 and to Broken Bow, NE in 1943.&nbsp; He graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1956 and enlisted in the Army. He worked for the Broken Bow Public Schools from January 1982 to October 1999 (with several students calling him Uncle Orval and some still called him that to present day). He enjoyed volunteering at the Community Connection on Tuesdays from June 2006 to present day.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant twin brothers, brother, William Leverington, &amp; infant sister Rosa Marie, and sisters: Lillian Harmon &amp; Marjorie New Rider.

He is survived by his sisters Myrtle (Bill,Jr) Shirkey of Broken Bow, NE, Mary Veverka of Grand Island, NE, and Jannie (Steve) Parker of Lincoln, NE; brothers Kenneth (Pearl) Leverington of Grand Island, NE, Robert (Evia) Leverington of Kennett, MO, Larry Leverington of Broken Bow, NE, and Glennard James Leverington of Broken Bow, NE; brother-in-law John Harmon of Broken Bow, NE; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ray Vernon Howard  (1931-2020)

Evelyn May Weaver, age 92, of Lincoln, Nebraska, formerly of Overton, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at CHI Health St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Evelyn was born on May 27, 1928, in Ovid, Colorado to Conrad and Marie (Gender) Bauer. Her family moved to Lexington, Nebraska where she went to school and later married Gaylord Eby on January 21, 1946. They lived on a farm near Overton and later moved to a farm north of Lexington. They had three daughters: Gayleen, Gloria and Gayla. They lived on the farm until Gaylord's death in 1963.

Evelyn moved her family to Overton and later married Don Weaver and moved to Kearney, Nebraska. She worked in housekeeping at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney until her retirement in 1993. After retirement, she moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to be near her family.

Evelyn enjoyed living on the farm with her family and loved to cook for them. She collected many cookbooks over the years and went through them always looking for something new to try. She also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great grandchildren whenever she could. During the last few years she loved watching the birds on her feeders outside her window.

Survivors include her daughter, Gayleen (Roger) Potter of Lincoln, NE; son- in- law, Eldon (Carol) Gnuse of Lincoln, NE; her sister, Colleen Korn of Nampa, Idaho; her brother, George Bauer of Medford, Oregon; brother- in- law, Verlyn (Ellen) Eby of Overton, NE; sister -in-law, Norma Eby of Overton, NE; sister- in-law, Sue Keller of Lexington, NE; she also leaves behind seven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gaylord Eby and husband, Don Weaver; daughters, Gloria Gnuse and Gayla Eby; a grandson, Troy Gnuse and granddaughter, Katie Grant.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor William Ohlmann, officiating. The service will be live-streamed via the Trinity Lutheran Church website.

Visitation for the family will be held prior to the funeral service.

Interment will in the Overton Cemetery at Overton, Nebraska

During the last few years she loved watching the birds on her feeders outside her window.Survivors include her daughter, Gayleen (Roger) Potter of Lincoln, NE; son- in- law, Eldon (Carol) Gnuse of Lincoln, NE; her sister, Colleen Korn of Nampa, Idaho; her brother, George Bauer of Medford, Oregon; brother- in- law, Verlyn (Ellen) Eby of Overton, NE; sister -in-law, Norma Eby of Overton, NE; sister- in-law, Sue Keller of Lexington, NE; she also leaves behind seven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gaylord Eby and husband, Don Weaver; daughters, Gloria Gnuse and Gayla Eby; a grandson, Troy Gnuse and granddaughter, Katie Grant.Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington, Nebraska with Pastor William Ohlmann, officiating. Evelyn May Weaver  (1928-2020)

Bryan Jacob Melstrom, age 28,of Dalton, Nebraska, formally of North Platte, Nebraska died November 18, 2020, in Kellogg, Iowa as a result of a semi-truck accident. Bryan was born on July 22, 1992, in North Platte, to Chris Amaya and Gregory Allen Melstrom.

He graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 2011, went to the Job Corp in Wichita, Kansas, then moved to Lincoln, NE. Bryan married Tiffany Bingham on April 5, 2013 in North Platte. They lived in North Platte until moving to Dalton in July 2020, where Bryan was working for K &amp; B Trucking. He will always be remembered as a family man, always had a happy attitude, regardless of the situation, loved music, collecting knives and the Denver Broncos. His favorite holidays were Halloween and the 4th&nbsp;of July, blowing up things.

Survivors include his wife, Tiffany; children; Zowie, Xavier and Tarrence, all of Dalton, NE; mother, Chris (Mike Jones) Amaya, North Platte, NE; brothers, Christian Amaya of Westminster, Colorado, Juan Barnhill and Roberto Barnhill of North Platte, NE; step family, Nathan Drake and Mary Drake; Grandparents; Elizabeth Harbick of North Platte, Darrell (Jayne) Melstrom of Kansas, and Raymond (Bobbi) Amaya of Florida. 

He was preceded in death by 3 infants; grandparents John Harbick, Penny Melstrom, Terry Scoville, Duane and Wanda Jess, and Lily and Darrell Yonker; and mother-in-law, Kelly Hulscher.

Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte, NE with the Reverend Dave Cummings officiating.&nbsp; Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home of North Platte is in charge of arrangements.

Claudia Rae Sharkey was born to Claude and Violet (Whitcomb) Cornish on July 15, 1944.&nbsp; She was the middle of three children: Bill, the oldest, and Phyllis, the youngest.&nbsp; She was born on the family farm near rural Lakeview in Todd County, South Dakota where she lived her entire wonderful and full life.

 </figure>Claudia Rae Sharkey was born to Claude and Violet (Whitcomb) Cornish on July 15, 1944.&nbsp; She was the middle of three children: Bill, the oldest, and Phyllis, the youngest.&nbsp; She was born on the family farm near rural Lakeview in Todd County, South Dakota where she lived her entire wonderful and full life.Claudia went to grade school at the lux and Meadow Valley Schools.&nbsp; She then attended and graduated from Todd County High School in Mission, SD in 1962.&nbsp; Claudia remembered having to ride a horse from Gunnick's to the home place, being snowed in for two weeks, then having to ride the horse back over to Gunnick's to get back to school.&nbsp;&nbsp;After high school, Claudia attended business school in Rapid City, SD.Claudia worked for Cherry-Todd Electric for 38 years and later served on the board where she had the privilege to work with some of her closest friends.&nbsp; &nbsp;She started out as a file clerk in 1963 and worked her way up to office manager.&nbsp; Claudia retired from Cherry-Todd Electric in 2000.In 1971, Claudia met the love of her life, Rolland Sharkey, at the Pheasant Bar in Winner, SD over the Labor Day weekend.&nbsp; The two of them were married a year and a half later on March 16, 1973.&nbsp; They started their family to which they had three ornery boys:&nbsp; Eddie, Kevin and Ronald.&nbsp;&nbsp;After retirement, Claudia enjoyed working at the Rosebud Casino.&nbsp; If she wasn't working there, she and Rolland were playing the slots, where more often than not, they came home broke.&nbsp; Claudia also enjoyed canning all of the garden produce from Rolland's garden.&nbsp; She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family, but her grandchildren were the light of her life....all 9 of themClaudia Rae (Cornish) Sharkey passed away, with her loving husband holding her hands, on November 12, 2020 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.Claudia is survived by her husband of 47 years, Rolland Sharkey; three sons, Eddie (Christine), Kevin (Tina) and Ronald (Michelle); nine grandchildren Tyler, Ely, Kelsey (Corey), Evyn Emily, Kaia Rae, Kendal, Sloane, and Riggs; sisters-in-law Lois (Bill) Cornish, Harriet Hoffine, LaVonne(Don) Ring; brother-in-law Marvin (Linda) Sharkey; many nieces and nephews; and numerous family friends.She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Violet Cornish; one older brother, William "Bill" Cornish' one younger sister, Phyllis Rowsey; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Hoffine and sister-in-law Janice Richie.Funeral services for Claudia Sharkey, age 76, of Valentine, Nebraska are pending at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine.
