Evan Gaige Allen-Mader, 20, died Monday, October 26, 2020 at Ascension 
Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was born March 
6, 2000 in Garden City, Kansas, the son of Freeman Allen, Jr. and Jessica (Mader)
 Allen. 
 Evan lived most of his life in Garden City where he attended 
school. His Junior year of high school, Evan attended school in Caney, 
Kansas. He then attended his senior year and graduated from Ogallala 
High School in Ogallala, Nebraska in 2019. Evan then attended Chadron 
State College in Chadron, Nebraska and Cowley County Community College 
each for 1 year. Evan also worked as a package handler for Fedex while 
helping father at ICT Tree &amp; Landscaping. Evan was an avid sports 
fan and loved participating in all sports, but his main passion was 
playing basketball. He also loved dancing, music, making people laugh, 
and spending time with his family and friends. 
 Survivors include his mother Jessica &amp; husband Ray Hull of 
Lee’s Summit, Missouri; his father Freeman &amp; wife McKenzie Allen, 
Jr. of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers Zayden Allen of Lee’s Summit, 
Missouri and Trindon Allen of Wichita, Kansas; a sister Rylie Allen of 
Lee’s Summit, Missouri; grandparents Tom &amp; Lori Herrell of Garden 
City, Kansas, Freeman Allen, Sr. of Columbus, Mississippi, and Angela 
Scheve of Amarillo, Texas; his great-grandmother Carolyn Kinney of 
Garden City, Kansas; and many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and 
Cousins. 
 A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November
 7, 2020 at Cornerstone Church in Garden City, Kansas with Pastor Raul 
Silva officiating. A private family interment will take place at a 
later date. There will be no calling hours. The family suggests 
memorials given to the Garden City Family YMCA or to the Garden City

Vivian Robbins  (1956-2020)

Dale Wayne Fickle, 71, a longtime resident of Culbertson, passed away early Saturday morning, October 31, 2020 at his home in Culbertson.  He was born to Charles William and Ruth Ann (Meyer) Fickle on December 7, 1948 in McCook, Nebraska.  Dale attended school in Culbertson where he graduated from high school.  After high school he began his career with the United States Navy.

Dale took the time to share his military experiences.&nbsp; “I served as a hospital corpsman assigned to the Marine Corps for the majority of my naval career. &nbsp;While serving with the 2nd&nbsp;BN and MARDIV BLT, we entered Vietnam on several occasions. &nbsp;We provided medical care and support as MEDCAP unit. &nbsp;After my duties with 2/4 BLT, I was transferred to Naskapi Point in the Philippine Islands. &nbsp;I was in the Vietnam theater when the refugees arrived and were quarantined; and assisted supervising the evacuation of the sick and wounded in Operation New Life. &nbsp;My main duties as a corpsman were to provide medical care to the sick and injured Marines and Navy personnel. &nbsp;Upon my return from my overseas tours, our family lived in South Bend, Indiana, San Clemente, California, Gulfport Mississippi then back to California where I retired after 24 years of active duty and then six years as a ready reserve.”

Dale met and married his wife, Virginia Kelley, while stationed at Camp Pendleton in 1972. &nbsp;Together, they raised their two daughters, Tammy Jo and Stacey. &nbsp;He led his family on many adventures camping and assisting the girls in restoring their first cars, along with his classic 1948 Chevy pickup. &nbsp;Dale was a motorcycle enthusiast and he and Virginia rode all over the country with the clubs they belonged to and also rode with the Run For The Wall Vietnam Veterans from Pomona, California to Washington DC. &nbsp;The family moved to Culbertson, Nebraska in 2002, where they reside, today.

In October of 2019, Dale participated in the Hall County Hero Flight and had the opportunity of a lifetime: to be a part of placing the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetery. &nbsp;He was so honored to be selected and enjoyed the ceremony with so much pride.

Dale’s charity work included participating in dressing up as Santa Claus for fundraisers collecting toys for Toys for Tots and the McCook Toy Box. &nbsp;He loved his family and treasured each friendship he made along his life. &nbsp;We have lost a kind, compassionate and devoted husband and father, a loyal friend and fiercely patriotic American. &nbsp;He will live in our hearts forever.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Fickle of Culbertson, NE and formerly of Vista, California; daughter, Tamara Joanne Fickle and significant other, Francis Purcell, of Escondido, California; daughter, Stacey Michelle Fickle-Ellington of Culbertson; sister, LeAnne Frick and husband, Elmer, of McCook; brother, James Harley Fickle and wife, Kathy, of Missouri; brother, Charles Richard Fickle of McCook; brother-in-law, Martin Kelley and wife, Estella, of Bellflower, California ; sister-in-law, Kathleen Leroy and husband, Hubert, of Surprise, Arizona; as well and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dale Wayne Fickle  (1949-2020)

Arlyn LeRoy Osborn, a lifetime Cozad, Nebraska area resident passed away October 29th, 2020 at Meadowlark Pointe Assisted Living in Cozad, Nebraska.&nbsp; &nbsp;He was 80 years old. Arlyn was born to Clarence and Minnie (Robertson) Osborn at his parents’ home on Redfern table north of Cozad on December 5, 1939.&nbsp; Arlyn was a farmer &amp; rancher in the Dawson County, Nebraska area for over 60 years.

Arlyn graduated from Cozad High School with the Class of 1958. He began his farming career with his Dad on their farm in the sandhills north of Cozad. Through his high school years, Arlyn worked as a hired hand for Herb and Glenda France on their farm. On October 3, 1959 Arlyn married his high school sweetheart Kay Sculley.&nbsp; Arlyn and Kay bought their home place that same year and raised their three children, Kevin, Kim and Kraig there.

Arlyn built his farm and ranch operation over time. He started his cattle operation with a small herd that he built over the years.&nbsp; Arlyn was awarded Nebraska Outstanding Young Farmer in 1968. In the late 1960’s, he expanded his operation by forming a partnership with Jack Randecker of Farman, Nebraska.&nbsp; Arlyn and Jack continued to work together for over 50 years, that relationship continues today with Arlyn and Jacks’ sons.&nbsp; Arlyn was very proud of how he built his cattle operation and took great pride in the black angus bloodline.&nbsp; He would study bloodlines and watch auctions for hours.&nbsp; His pride was on bull auction day to sit with his sons and grandsons and bid on the bulls they had researched.&nbsp; He didn’t always end up with his top pick but he had alternates lined up.&nbsp; If he was not watching an auction, he was watching a rodeo, no matter if it was current day or a rodeo from the 70’s.&nbsp; Arlyn was a proud member of the Knightriders.&nbsp; He loved westerns… his favorites were Gunsmoke and Bonanza.

During the harvest of 1984, Arlyn was involved in a farm accident which resulted in the loss of his left leg. Arlyn spent many weeks recovering following the accident.&nbsp; He returned home and never let it slow him down. Arlyn continued to ride horses, run tractors, mow alfalfa and work hard for the rest of his life.&nbsp; Giving up was never an option for him, that determination and persistence are traits he has passed down to his children.

Arlyn was a member of the Cozad Elks Lodge #2250 and was Exalted Ruler from 1972-1973.&nbsp; He was present at his sons and grandsons’ initiations into the Elks Lodge and proud of the three-generation legacy.&nbsp; Arlyn never really had any hobbies that did not revolve around working on the farm. He enjoyed going to the races to watch his sons and grandsons race stock cars. His best times were loading up the pickup with his red heeler dog ‘Patches, to either go check cows or mow hay. His good friend Stan asked him recently, “Arlyn what is your favorite part of farming”.&nbsp; Arlyn answered with a big white smile and gentle laugh. “mowing hay”.&nbsp; He was always happy in the swather mowing hay, with his dog right by his side always.

Arlyn is survived by his children:&nbsp; Sons, Kevin Osborn and wife Teresa, Kraig Osborn and wife Ann, both of Cozad.&nbsp; Daughter, Kim Wolkenhauer and husband Herb of Lincoln, Nebraska. Grandchildren: Ryan Osborn of Denton, Colton Osborn and wife Stephanie, Cale Osborn and wife Ashley, Blake Osborn and Carrie Osborn, all of Cozad; 7 Great-Grandchildren: Ava, Zach, Cole, Ashton, Alec, Harper and Caine; Nephews: Bruce Osborn and wife Jean of Littleton, Colorado, David Osborn of Grand Island, Nebraska, Terry Osborn of Lincoln, Nebraska; Mike Sculley of North Platte, Nebraska; and numerous cousins and friends.

Arlyn was preceded in death by his wife, Kay, his parents Clarence and Minnie Osborn, brothers and sister in-laws: Rex Osborn and wife Pat,&nbsp; Jim Osborn and wife Doris.

Arlyn LeRoy Osborn  (1939-2020)

Marjorie Irene Gleason-McClendon, age 71, of North Platte, Nebraska died October 30, 2020 at Great Plains Health.&nbsp; She was born on July 13, 1949 in Vermillion, South Dakota to Donald and Irene (Rishel) Brown.&nbsp; Marjorie grew up in South Dakota and Nebraska and was working as a waitress when she met William “Bill” Gleason.&nbsp; They were married in North Platte and the couple lived in Brady, Nebraska where they operated a gas station and raised their family.&nbsp; They later moved to North Platte where Marjorie was the cashier manager for Tomahawk Truck Stop.&nbsp;

Marjorie will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who had a wicked sense of humor.&nbsp; She loved and lived her faith and was a member of the Two Rivers Fellowship.

Marjorie Irene Gleaseon-McGlendon  (1949-2020)

Lynn Marie Allen, age 54, of North Platte, Nebraska died October 29, 2020 at her home. She was born February 27, 1966 to Floyd and Patricia (Negley) Gastineau.

Lynn married Marlin Allen and created a family with four children; Christina, Steven, Dustin, and Brandon. Lynn enjoyed birds and French bulldogs. She loved music and especially her 80’s hair bands. Lynn had the proclaimed nickname of “Bird Lady”.

Lynn is survived by her four children, Christina (Kip) Koch of North Platte, Nebraska, Steven Gastineau of North Platte, Nebraska, Dustin Allen of North Platte, Nebraska, Brandon (Leo Hiedacavage) Allen of Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Brody, Gibson, Angel, Rylie, Josilyn, and Adlee; siblings, Jamie (Rebecca) Gastineau of North Platte and Karen Duffy of North Platte.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Floyd “Butch”, Steven, Peggy and Robbin.

On December 13, 1958, Sharlene married Richard Bruce Scranton in Lincoln, Nebraska.&nbsp; They moved to Buffalo, New York, then to Denver, Colorado in 1977.&nbsp;&nbsp;After they divorced, Sharlene eventually moved to North Platte, Nebraska in 2002&nbsp;where she was a member of Cross of Christ. Sharlene was a Christian woman and a Cornhusker fan.&nbsp; She enjoyed baking&nbsp;and always looked forward to the 4th of July and Christmas. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Scranton; her parents, Allen and Lila Sutter; sister, Darlene Larsen; brother, David Sutter; and ex-husband, Richard Scranton. Irene Alta Refior, age 89, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away surrounded by&nbsp;her family on Friday, October 30, 2020. Irene was born at Vivian, South Dakota, to Zura and Florence (Rademaker)&nbsp;Rishel on March 26, 1931.&nbsp; She grew up and attended school in South&nbsp;Dakota and years later received her GED. On July 24, 1948, Irene married Donald Brown in Vermilion, South Dakota,&nbsp;and to this union three children, Marjorie, Kenneth and Cheryl, were&nbsp;born.&nbsp; The family later moved to Iowa then to North Platte, Nebraska in 1960.&nbsp;&nbsp;After Don died in 1975, Irene married Lloyd Refior on December 16, 1978,&nbsp;in North Platte.&nbsp; She and Lloyd were together until his death in 1991. Irene was a member of the First Baptist Church.&nbsp; She and her granddaughter were baptized together on Easter Sunday in 2001. Irene enjoyed doing embroidery, cross stitching, knitting and crocheting.&nbsp; She loved her family and was happiest helping others. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kathryn "Kathy" (Ferris) Minear of Lyons, Kansas on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Kathryn "Kathy" Sue (Ferris) Minear was born to George &amp; Beverly (Stevens) Ferris on November 23, 1958 in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; She attended public school in North Platte and graduated from North Platte High School in May of 1977.&nbsp;&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On April 17, 1982, she and Richard Minear of Mankato, Kansas were united in marriage at First United Methodist Church in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; &nbsp;To this union was born two children shortly after: daughter Mary Ann born February 27, 1984 and son Thomas Clayton born November 9, 1985.&nbsp; The couple and their family continued to live in North Platte until 1988 when they moved to Lyons, Kansas.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Kathryn was a dedicated and loving mother and as an animal lover, adopted several cats over the years into their home.&nbsp; She was active through writing pen pals across the country.&nbsp; As a loving member of her larger family, she was forever vigilante in sending out birthday greetings to her siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, as well.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Kathryn leaves behind her beloved husband, Richard, of Lyons, Kansas; daughter Mary and son Thomas of Great Bend, Kansas.&nbsp; Other surviving family members include her father, George Ferris of Hastings, Nebraska, sister Pamela Larkin of Greeley, Colorado, sister Connie Astuto of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota; and brothers David Ferris of Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Michael Ferris of Dublin, Republic of Ireland.

Kathryn Sue (Ferris) Minear  (1958-2020)

Clarence "Gary" Palu, age 77, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away, Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the Centennial Park Village in North Platte.

Gary was born on July 11, 1943 in Holyoke, Colorado to Clarence Gary and June (Benson) Palu.&nbsp;

In 1949 the family moved to Madrid, Nebraska to the Palu Family Farm. He graduated from Madrid High School in 1960. Gary enlisted in the United States Navy for a brief time.

Gary returned to Madrid where he met Lynette Crist and the two of them were united in marriage on July 9, 1965.&nbsp; They made their home in Madrid. From this marriage they welcomed 2 daughters, Jody Palu born in Grant, Nebraska.&nbsp; They then moved to Hettinger, North Dakota, where they welcomed their second daughter, Paula Palu.&nbsp; Gary and Lynette didn't like the extreme snow storms, so they moved back to Ogallala, Nebraska in 1966. He worked for Simons Construction and retired in 1992.&nbsp;

He resided in North Platte, Nebraska at the Centennial Park Village in North Platte, where he resided until his passing.

Gary is survived by his 2 daughters; Paula Crum, of Ogallala, Nebraska; Jody Palu, of Lincoln, Nebraska; 3 sisters; Karen (Don) Brogan-Chandler, of North Platte, Nebraska, Linda (Dana) Corenelius, of Grant, Nebraska, and Jo Ellen Peterson, of Drake, Colorado; 3 brothers; Bruce (Pat) Palu and William Palu, all of North Platte, Nebraska, and Paul Palu, of Madrid, Nebraska; 5 grandchildren; Jadda Crum; Hannah Crum, both of Greeley, Colorado, Jacob Crum, of Loveland, Colorado, Brandon Palu, and Josh Stone; and 1 great-grandchild, Kaiser Stone, all of Lincoln, Nebraska.

He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Stephen Bradley Breuer, 70, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died October 29, 2020 in Callaway, Nebraska.&nbsp; Stephen was born on April 14, 1950.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, in Gothenburg, Nebraska on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M.

Services will be held at Arnold United Methodist Church in Arnold, Nebraska on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 2:30 P.M. with Pastor Bill Williams and Willis Callahan officiating.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Burial will follow in the Arnold Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Gothenburg Seventh Day Adventist Church, Gothenburg, Nebraska and Gothenburg Rescue Service, Gothenburg, Nebraska .&nbsp;

Stephen Bradley Breuer  (1950-2020)

On Oct 28, 2020 Juanita (Jennie) Garvin, loving wife and mother of three boys, passed away at the age of 85.&nbsp; Jennie was born on December 27, 1934 in Wellington, Kansas to Manuel and Mary (Ybarra) Vieyra.

She married Olegario (Jessie) Perez and raised three sons, Jessie LeRoy Perez, Victor (Laurie) Perez and Marty Perez in North Platte, Nebraska.

On Nov. 17, 1987 she married Tom Garvin, who proceeded her in death on June 23, 2010. They made their home in North Platte after spending a few short years in Lincoln, Nebraska. Together they gardened, danced, played shuffleboard and spent time with family and friends.

Jennie loved her flowers and spent many hours nurturing and weeding them. Her efforts earned her the recipient of North Platte’s “Yard of the Week Award.”&nbsp; She also liked to fish, dance and was a great cook.

Jennie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom Garvin; son, Marty Perez; sister; Irene Lopez; great granddaughter, Elli Grace Perez.

She is survived by her sons, Jesse LeRoy Perez and Victor (Laurie) Perez; brothers; Roy Vieyra, George Vieyra, Pat (Chris) Vieyra and Bob (Mary) Vieyra; sisters, Nelle (Lynn) Tominaga, Anita Sanchez, Terry (Don) Boese, Gina (Rueben) Rangel, Delores (Jesse) Lira, and Helen (Alex) Sanchez; 20 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 11 Great-great grandchildren; two sisters in laws; MaryLee Jensen and Kathleen Garvin, many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Private family Christian Wake Service will be held at noon, Monday, November 2, 2020 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in North Platte, Nebraska. Private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2020 with the Reverend Mark Sieker as celebrant.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.&nbsp; Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home in North Platte is in charge of arrangements.

Juanita 'Jennie" Garvin  (1934-2020)

Ian Miles Nichelson, age 33, of North Platte, Nebraska went to his heavenly home on October 26, 2020 at Great Plains Health in North Platte.&nbsp; Ian was born on January 27, 1987 at Great Plains Health.&nbsp; He was baptized at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in North Platte.&nbsp; He attended St. Patrick's Catholic School and North Platte Public Schools, graduating with the Class of 2005.

During his high school years, he worked part-time at Arby’s for his Aunt Dort.&nbsp; He learned from her at a young age what hard work was. After graduation he worked at Menards for a while then he moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado to do tile work for a man he met while working at Arby’s. He had told that man that he wanted to work for him 3 years prior. When he finished school, he contacted him. He worked for Tile Kings for 2 years, traveling to many places doing tile jobs, many of them at Starbucks. He got to go to Lake Tahoe, Mt. Rushmore, many places in Colorado and Nebraska. He moved back to Nebraska a couple years later and did tile work on the side, on his own after learning the trade. He did many beautiful floors, kitchens and bathrooms. He was so proud of his work. He then went to work for the City of North Platte with the Sanitation Department. He had some wonderful times working with the men on those crews. His love for people’s back yards, gardens, kids and pets were things he talked about every day and every season. One time he said that someone called in to report a dead bird flopping around. He remembers his boss asked “what kind of bird is it?” A pterodactyl or what?” One of the funniest stories every. He worked for the city of about 8 years. He made a best friend while working there in Chris Werkmeister. In 2015 he quit the city to start his own business “Early Bird &amp; Second Mouse” putting the Old McDaid School Boiler together after it was dismantled, making a huge smoker. He had it built to his specifications, put it on a huge flat bed trailer and started cooking many, many smoked meats, turkeys and cheeses. He won the Honky Tonk BBQ 2 years in a row along with many other awards. He could season meats the way no one else could. He did many events, weddings, graduations and family meals. He was perfect in his job, not matter what he cooked. He loved seeing the looks on peoples faces when he saw them eat his cooking. His trait was homemade breakfast burritos which he has made this whole time. He also smoked cheese, olives, jalapenos &amp; chocolate covered strawberries. He had a gift in cooking for so many.

He also had a love for music. Any of his friends will tell you that. He loved Sally Erna’s letter that said “Have you ever sat &amp; thought what life would be like without music?” He had a list of his top songs, sadly, it has ended now with #410.&nbsp;&nbsp; He played guitar, teaching himself. His passion for music was like no one we have ever known. He put a speaker in the backyard and always turned it up loud when he was outside.

Ian also loved to draw. He won awards for his art and could see things in his drawings that no one else could. He was precise and very detailed in his beautiful art work.

Besides the work, the music, the art, he loved football. So many of his pictures has him and football. Since he was very young, he loved Husker football. Attending his first tailgate at about age 3 with his Uncle Francis in Lincoln, Nebraska. He played every recess in school with his classmates. We had a family get-to-gether’s in August &amp; guess what?? We all threw that footfall. His best friend &amp; “other brother”, Nathan Epley, threw countless football passes. He loved the Raiders, with the Patriots a close 2nd, but Nebraska was his favorite. He had to have every football card ever printed when he was younger. A fortune spent on football cards. When Ian was little, he had a passion for animals and creepy things too, like snakes! Our neighborhood still has an abundance of snakes because of him. He also loved to fish and to camp. He once saved a baby possum by taking it to the river because he didn’t want it to die. He loved birds, along with his cat Bobby, who passed away this summer. Then he got really close to the other cat Spirit, who never used to like him. Lover of nature, wildlife and pets for sure. All started at a young age. He loved nurturing &amp; especially taking care of our earth, too, always recycling anything.

Besides all these passions in a short life, his love for his family was the biggest. He never missed a family event in all of his 33 years, sometime hating for birthdays, holidays, weddings, Czech Days, football games, concerts and anything else to end. He had a unique &amp; robust passion for life. He never was negative. Always listening, always happy, always kind, always a good helper, and always a joy to have around. No one could ask of anyone better, ever. A life of love &amp; a passion that only God could give to him to show how to live it. He loved God. He didn’t talk about it much, but he always believed in God &amp; knew he was here.

Ian was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wesley &amp; Opal Pecenka, Donald &amp; Bessie Nichelson, his Aunt Dorothea &amp; his Uncle Pete.

Cathy Lee (Janda) Province was born March 14, 1947 in Lincoln, Nebraska to William Janda and Darlene (Ballard) Janda of Wilber, Nebraska. They moved to Broken Bow Nebraska in 1952, where Cathy attended Custer Grade School and graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1965. She then attended Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska for one year and married Wesley Province on June 17, 1966. To this union were born Angela, Justin, Jeremy, and Nathan.

Cathy passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2020.

Her nine Grandchildren are Ryan Province, Brittany (Province) Toof, Shay Province, Sadie Province, Sara Province, Cameron Province, Gabriel Province, Taylor Province and Braxton Province. Her four Great Grandchildren are Ryker Province, Adelyn Province, Sabrina Province and Delilah Toof.

She had many cousins, nieces, and nephews she loved.

Cathy enjoyed family and friends and various crafts. She was the office manager for Province Plumbing for thirty years. When they partnered with Ray Brown, Ann &amp; RJ Thomas &amp; Matt Thomas, she and Ann went about enriching the interior of the hotel, not only with furnishings but with their undying optimism and outgoing personalities. It was one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling times for her. She also looked forward to every last Wednesday of the month when she could have lunch with the girls (her classmates). She always looked forward to seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Wes Province of Broken Bow, Nebraska, brother Richard Eldred of Aiken, South Carolina, and sister Taresa Brunken of Broken Bow, Nebraska. Also, three sons, Justin Province of Denver, Colorado, Jeremy Province of Broken Bow, Nebraska and Nathan Province of Kearney, Nebraska; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.&nbsp; &nbsp;She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela, who died at birth.

A family memorial service will be Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Broken Bow, Nebraska with Pastor Becky Dobitsch officiating. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Cathy Lee Province  (1947-2020)

Betsy Ruth Hasty, age 92, of Ogallala, Nebraska, passed away, Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at her home in Ogallala.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; She was born July 14, 1928 in Omaha, Nebraska to Herbert Davis. Her mother died when she was an infant.&nbsp; &nbsp; The family made their home in Carter Lake, Iowa, where her early schooling was. They moved to Beatrice, Nebraska where she graduated from High School. &nbsp; Betsy met Lloyd Hasty in Beatrice, where they were married. The two of them moved to Kearney, Nebraska to make their home. Then, in 1958 they moved to Ogallala, Nebraska. &nbsp; We will miss you, Bets.

Betsy is survived by her niece, Anna Edwards, of Omaha, Nebraska; great-nephews, Isaac and Bradley and great-niece, Meriah Edwards; and nephews, Michael and James Corbet, of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.&nbsp;

The family chose cremation. No services are scheduled at this time.

Interment&nbsp;will be in the Filey Cemetery in Filey, Nebraska.&nbsp;

A memorial has been established in her memory.&nbsp;

Shirley Elaine Evans, age 93, of Hayes Center, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at Great Plains Regional Med Center in North Platte, Nebraska.

Shirley was born March 8, 1927 in McCook, Nebraska to parents Ross Sidney and Joyce Dee (Johnson) Mosley. She was one of eight children who grew up in southwest Nebraska, attending school and graduating from Hayes Center High School in 1944.&nbsp;

On December 30, 1945, Shirley married Hershel Evans in Hayes Center where the couple made their home and were blessed with four sons.&nbsp; Over the years, Shirley enjoyed working alongside Hershel on the farm, milking the cows and giving them each a name, gardening, planting flowers and watching football.&nbsp; She also like to crochet and volunteered as a local 4-H club leader. Together with Hershel, the couple owned and operated the Double E Café for many years where Shirley was able to share her love of cooking, especially her bread and noodles, with others.&nbsp; Shirley was a member of the Kitchen Clatter Club and the Union Congregational United Church of Christ in Hayes Center.&nbsp;

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hershel Evans; son, Mike Evans; three brothers; and two sisters.&nbsp;

Those left to celebrate her life include her sons, Jack (Jana) Evans of North Platte, Nebraska, Kelly (Sharon) Evans of Cambridge, Nebraska and Lanny (Ricka) Evans of Hayes Center, Nebraska; daughter-in-laws, Nancy Evans of Maywood, Nebraska and Linda Evans of Throckmorton, Texas; sisters, Priscilla (Jim) Phillips of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Judy Mosley of Durango, Colorado; sister-in-law, Pat Mosley of Salem, Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; twenty four great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and another one on the way.&nbsp;

Earl William Eshleman, 102, longtime resident of North Platte, Nebraska died Monday, October 26, 2020.

Earl was born in a shack in the sandhills on July 14, 1918 and was the only child of William Henry and Clara Louise (Steel) Eshleman. Earl grew up on a ranch north of North Platte. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1935 at age 16. He joined the Army from 1945-1946.

Earl was a rancher that enjoyed dancing and playing cards. He married Helene (Beanie) Sanders at the North Platte Courthouse on August 19, 1940.

Earl is survived by a son, William (Diane) Eshleman of North Platte; granddaughter, Tamina Hartman of North Platte; two great grandsons, Keagan and Brody Hartman.

He was preceded in death by his wife Helene on May 3, 2012; son, Thomas; great granddaughter Esperanza Hartman.

Patrick McConnell, age 68, of Broken Bow, Nebraska passed away on October 1, 2020 at Brookstone View in Broken Bow, where he received excellent care.&nbsp; 

Pat was born on November 28,1951 to Merle &amp; Deloris McConnell in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; He was the oldest of 3 children.&nbsp; Pat grew up on the family farm near Sarben, Nebraska.&nbsp; He atteneded and graduated from Paxton High School in Paxton, Nebraska.

Pat spent most of his life working in the irrigation business in Kansas and northern Nebraska.&nbsp; He enjoyed fishing, shooting and hunting geese.

Pat moved to Broken Bow, Nebraska in 2010 where he met Ruth Cassel and they were married on March 25, 2011.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruth and brother Michael; and his brother Mark McConnell of Paxton, Nebraska.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Shirley Lindekugel of North Platte, Nebraska peacefully passed away at her home in Linden Estates Cottages in North Platte on Wednesday morning, October 28, 2020 with her friends, Cathy &amp; Jim Smith, at her bedside. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Shirley was born on May 22, 1921 to Robert &amp; Myrl Frank at Marksville, Louisiana.&nbsp; She grew up in New Orleans and graduated from Joseph Kohn High School.&nbsp; Shirley went to work as a clerk-typist for a wholesale beauty and barber supply company.&nbsp; When World War II broke out, she went to work for the U.S. Army Port of Embarkation as a clerk-typist.&nbsp; During this time, many of the young girls were invited to attend dances being held to entertain soldiers preparing to be shipped overseas to join the fighting. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;At a dance, Shirley met a young Officer &amp; Gentleman, Captain Howard Lindekugel, from Hershey, Nebraska.&nbsp; They fell in love and were married on January 23, 1943 in New Orleans.&nbsp; They rode a troop train to North Platte, Nebraska where she met Howard's family and then went on to New York City where they stayed a few weeks before Howard shipped out to Europe. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Shirley continued working until Howard returned from the war.&nbsp; The couple then moved to Nebraska where they settled on a farm near Hershey and raised cattle.&nbsp; Following Howard's death, Shirley moved into town, then to North Platte. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She was a member of the Catholic faith and most recently a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.&nbsp; shirley was also a member of the Hershey American Legion Auxiliary and the Hershey Garden Belles. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Along with her husband, Howard, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Robert &amp; Myrl Frank; a brother, Robert; and a sister, Roberta. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Shirley is survived by her nieces Darlene (Walter) Pearson of Denver, Colorado and Barbara (Tommy) Woods of Metairie, Louisiana; special friends, Cathy and Jim Smith of Wallace, Nebraska; and many other family and friends. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Services will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in North Platte, Nebraska.&nbsp; Rosary service will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.&nbsp; Burial will follow in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens in North Platte.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Odean Colonial Chapel at C &amp; Sycamore in North Platte, which is in charge of arrangements.&nbsp; Online condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Goodfellows Shoe Fund or St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Building Fund.

Donald E. Adams  (1932-2020)

Mary Etta Gage passed away on Monday, October 19th, 2020 at North Platte Care Center. Mary was born January 15, 1937 to Clifford and Velma (Hixon) Moody in Imperial, Nebraska. She attended Wauneta Public Schools graduating in 1954, and then went on to earn her teaching certificate from McCook Community College in McCook, Nebraska. On December 18, 1955, Mary married the love of her life, Keith Gage, at the Wauneta United Methodist Church in Wauneta, Nebraska. They made their home on the farm north of Wauneta in the Spring Creek Valley and Hamlet areas. Mary and Keith enjoyed the next four decades together on the family farm raising five children and making a lifetime of memories. Mary taught school in a one room country school south of Wauneta and also Hiawatha School near Champion, Nebraska. Mary enjoyed raising chickens every summer on the farm as well as gardening and canning. Everyone loved her cooking, especially her amazing fried chicken. It was a special treat requested by her grandchildren when they would come to visit. Mary and Keith did everything together, whether it be working on the farm, in the garden, building rocking horses, and fishing. They did it together. In 1998 Mary and Keith retired to the small town life of Wauneta. They spent their first year renovating the house they purchased that was close to downtown. Mary found that being idle was something that didn’t suit her well, so for the next several years she served as the cook for the Wauneta Senior Center that was conveniently located across the alley from home. She enjoyed the wonderful people she got to spend time with, and spoke fondly of her years there. In December of 2015, Mary and Keith celebrated 60 years of marriage with their friends and families in Wauneta. In 2019, Mary moved to North Platte, Nebraska to be closer to family. She was living at North Platte Care Center where she was cared for by the wonderful staff who loved her ornery sense of humor, and the social time she spent with them at the front desk. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law, Lyle and Ilo Gage, husband Keith, son Robert (Bob) Gage, brother Ronnie Moody, brothers-in-law Norman Gage and Leigh Gage and Great Grandson Barrett Burenheide. Mario Delgado Silva passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 at El Paso, Texas at the age of 65.&nbsp; He was born on December 7, 1954.

Funeral services will be private with burial at Cozad Cemetery in Cozad, Nebraska.

Mario Delgado Silva  (1954-2020)

On May 4, 2020, Cynthia Annette Egle Nicholson, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away due to complications relating to cancer at the age of 73.&nbsp; Cindy’s cancer diagnosis came only a month earlier; her sudden passing was a heartbreaking shock to family and friends alike.

Cindy was born June 24, 1946, to Virgil and Grace Mae (Rasmussen) Egle in North Platte, Nebraska. Coincidentally, she was born the same day as her mother, a lifelong gift to both.

Growing up, Cindy was highly involved within the North Platte community and was an outstanding toe dancer. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1964. Cindy enjoyed her high school days and always spoke of the Bulldog pep rallies and migrations for high school football. Cindy’s school spirit continued to grow at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she graduated in 1968. She was a member of the Nebraska "tassels" (the equivalent of a modern-day cheerleading/spirt squad) and became a diehard Nebraska Cornhusker.

After graduating from college, Cindy moved to Colorado to begin her career as an educator. Cindy devoted over 30 years of her life to Jefferson County Public Schools in the Denver Metro Area. During this time Cindy also completed her Master’s degree at the University of Colorado-Boulder.

On June 29, 1985, at the First Christian Church in North Platte, Cindy married Greg Johns Nicholson of Iowa. She later gave birth to their only child, Thomas, in 1988.

At the time of her death, Thomas stated, "My mother knew my fears, my joys, my aspirations…but perhaps, most important of all, she knew how to make me smile." I will cherish every memory in my mind, my soul, and my heart. She was my best friend, and the greatest mother a son could ever have.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, November 6, 2020, at the First Christian Church in North Platte, Nebraska. Terry&nbsp;Jacobsen, age 72, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at home surrounded by his family and friends on Monday, October 26, 2020.

Terry was born in Grand Island, Nebraska to Cleve and Ellen Jacobsen on September 18, 1948. The family lived in Boelus, Nebraska, until 1957 when they moved to Littleton, Colorado. Terry graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1967 then went to work at the Army Ammunition Depot in North Denver, then Martin Marrietta in Littleton, Colorado. Terry later began his trucking career with Sullivan's out of Grand Island and eventually bought his own truck.

On April 24, 1970, Terry married Florence Vlach in Grand Island and with his trucking career, the couple lived in various places including Casper, Wyoming. Terry drove for Grand Island Moving and Storage and Sinclair before hiring on with Walmart. It was his job transfer that brought Terry and Florence to North Platte, Nebraska in 2007 and he continued driving for Walmart until retiring in 2015.

Terry enjoyed driving and seeing the country. He belonged to Eagles Aires #2839 and a car club in Wyoming. Terry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleve and Ellen, and his brother, Sidney.

Terry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Florence, of North Platte, Nebraska; children, Clinton Jacobsen, of Grand Island, Nebraska Gina McCoy, of Ravenna, Nebraska and Lindsey Jacobsen, of North Platte, Nebraska; grandchildren, Ryan, Summer and Chahlie McDonald and Justin and Skyler Jacobsen; great-grandchildren, Myla Markel and Kysar and Gabby Jacobsen; brother, Rodney Jacobsen, of Larkspur, Colorado; and other family.

Terry Jacobsen  (1948-2020)

Michael E. Nichelson, age 60, of Broken Bow, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Jennie M. Melham Medical Center in Broken Bow.

Michael was born June 12, 1960, at Broken Bow, Nebraska, to Robert Lee and Patricia (McCleary) Nichelson. Michael received his education from Callaway Public Schools, in Callaway, Nebraska graduating from Callaway High School with the class of 1978.

Following graduation, Michael moved to Broken Bow and worked at Gibson’s for many years before working at Pizza Hut until his health forced him to retire.

Michael was very quiet, but had a presence about him. He was a homebody and kept his home very organized. He loved baseball and was a huge Kansas City Royals fan. He was a faithful watcher of Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith show and many different game shows. Michael also had a passion for the Callaway Kite Flight, which he attended for many years. In his younger years, he enjoyed riding his Honda 70 motorcycle.

Michael leaves to celebrate his life; his sisters, Debbra (Dale) Stark of Callaway, Nebraska and Twila (Paul) Bankson of Juniata, Nebraska; two uncles, Allen (Rhydonia) Nichelson of Belen, New Mexico and Jerry (Denise) Nichelson of Callaway, Nebraska; as well as nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and niece, Jennifer.

Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Callaway United Methodist Church, with Pastor Shanon Williams, officiating.&nbsp; &nbsp;Burial was in the Broken Bow Cemetery at Broken Bow, Nebraska.

A memorial has been established in Michael’s honor, and kindly suggested to Custer Care in Broken Bow or the Callaway Kite Flight.
