Duane G. Siemering, 80, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died August 16, 2020 at Gothenburg Health.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He was born January 23, 1940 in Gothenburg, NE, son of George and Evelyn Siemering.

Duane enjoyed woodworking, sitting on the front porch,&nbsp; lending a helping hand to his neighbors, and gambling. He was proud of his time spent in the army working as a member of the signal corps. Duane could often be found at the coffee shop with his good friends Ron Kauffman and Jerry Jobman. Most of all, Duane loved his family. He cared deeply for his parents and spent as much time as he could with them up until their passing, He also enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren.&nbsp;

Survivors include daughter, Tara (Robert) Young of Gothenburg, NE; son, Travis Siemering of Grand Island, NE; two granddaughters, Bryse Young, and Peyton Young; and grandson, Dawson Young.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Orva McCance, and Frances Kolbo, and brothers, Dennis Siemering, and Gary Siemering.

Memorial service will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 11:00 am with Pastor Larry Viter officiating.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Interment will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery.&nbsp;

Memorials may be given to the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department, or Central Plains Home Health and Hospice.

Ronald Haertel, age 70, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away on August 18, 2020, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney, Nebraska.

Ron was born and raised in North Platte.&nbsp; He graduated from North Platte High School in 1968 and Hastings College in 1972 then worked in Lincoln for several years before retiring to North Platte.

Ron was a joy to be around and his family and friends will miss him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Irene Haertel.&nbsp; Survivors include his sister, Kathy (Leo) Birkby, and niece, Stacey (Cory) Vandivert, all of Scottsdale, AZ; nephew, Scott (Jen) Birkby of Colorado Springs; and other family.

Pedro Garcia the 3rd was born on October 15, 1992 in Orange, New Jersey. Pedro graduated from Cozad High School in Cozad, Nebraska in 2011. He continued his education and wrestling career at Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas where he graduated with his associates degree. He then went on to wrestle and continue his education at Hastings College, later transferring to the University of Nebraska at Kearney to be closer to his family. Pedro was a para-educator and an assistant wrestling coach at Cozad Community Schools. He was a two-time state qualifier, fifth-place state medalist and a role model to many people because of his wrestling career. Pedro’s passion for wrestling was unmatched. So much so he would wake up at 5am daily just to get an extra workout and stayed home from a few of our family vacations during the season. Later he moved on to coaching and mentoring in the sport he loved. Pedro was dedicated in not just wrestling but everything he did.

Pedro was a great brother to his four siblings, he always put his family first regardless of the situation we were in and taught us what life was really about. Something Pedro always told us that we will keep with us forever was, “Day by Day we all become stronger and stronger, we get pushed to our limit, so we can reach our goals and make our dreams reality”. He was best known for his cheesy smile and his great advice to anyone who knew him. He was always able to switch a negative situation into a positive situation. Pedro always saw negativity as a way of life and with every negative situation there is always a positive one. Pedro was and forever will be our biggest inspiration and we will forever keep him in our hearts.

Pedro Garcia the 3rd unexpectedly passed away on May 2, 2020 at the age of 27. Pedro was a loving son, brother, cousin, grandson, nephew, uncle, and friend to all. Pedro left behind his parents, Pedro and Silvia Garcia, his siblings Julio, Janice, Jamie, and Pierro Garcia. He also left behind his nephew Remmy, who he loved dearly, as well as his uncles, aunts, cousins, and grandma who he loved just as much. Pedro will be the light to all of our lives and that light will never stop shining because regardless of where he is he will always be looking out for us all, just like he always has.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Cozad Cemetery. During this time, anyone from the public who would like to come and be part of the ceremony is welcome to. Safety precautions will be followed. Arlene Law, age 75, of Chappell, Nebraska passed away Monday evening, August 17, 2020 at the Sedgwick County Memorial Hospital after battling cancer for eight months.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2020 at the Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home in Chappell with Pastor Brent DeJong officiating.&nbsp; A Celebration of Life luncheon at the Lion’s Den, also in Chappell, will immediately follow the service and everyone is welcome to attend.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the funeral home.&nbsp; Holechek-Bondegard Funeral Home and Cremations in Chappell is serving the Law family.

Arlene was born on September 25, 1944 to Art and Gladys (Clark) Schippert in St. Francis, Kansas. She graduated from Brush High School in 1962 and later attended Parks Business College in Denver, CO.&nbsp; She married Larry Edwin Law on November 15, 1965 in Arthur, NE, which later ended in divorce. They had three daughters.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and helping on her daughter’s farm in Big Springs, NE.&nbsp; Her greatest joy was being a caregiver for the elderly. She loved hearing their stories and being a part of their lives. She was a loving and caring person and had a heart of gold. She had a feisty side up until the very end, and will be missed dearly.

Arlene is survived by her children: Teresa Feather from Littleton, CO, Brenda (Ken) Radke of Big Springs, NE, and Christine Flores just outside of Colorado Springs, CO. She also has a sister Bernita (Clayton) Way of Lodgepole, NE and two brothers, Skip (Roberta) Schippert of Fort Collins, CO, and Jim (Barb) Schippert of Snyder, CO. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Zach Feather from Littleton, CO, Makenna Feather from Littleton, CO, Chelsey Law-Lavante from North Platte, NE, Shane (Anna) Lavante from Chappell, NE, Trea Flores from Fountain, CO, and Tristin (Charlie) Flores stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi, and three great-grandchildren, Chaniel, Xander, and Benjamin. There is also an aunt, many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and dozens of wonderful friends. And last but not least her faithful furbaby, Beanie.

Arlene was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Campbell, and her father and step-mother Art and Ardis Schippert.

Arlene Law  (1944-2020)

Harry Eugene Swanson was born on Nov. 9, 1933, the second child of Elmer and Helen (Everingham) Swanson.&nbsp;&nbsp;He attended District #51 for grade school, excluding his sixth grade when he attended the Rose School. He graduated from Rock County High School in 1951. After graduation he started his mechanic career in Bassett, Nebraska working at the Allis Chalmers dealership, Rock County Implement and then the Ford Garage, until being drafted into the Army in 1955.

Harry served at Fort Polk, Louisiana in the armored infantry as a mechanic. He was honorably discharged in 1957. On his return he again worked for the Ford Garage before joining his brothers in a partnership at Sandhill Implement in 1961. When Sandhill Implement dissolved in 1989, he went into partnership with Lester Sybrant of Northern Plains and brother Dave. Upon retirement of Lester, Lester sold to George Murdock. Harry continued his mechanic skills until retiring from the business in 2009.

In 1961 he married Karen Lanz Strand, daughter of Ernest and Margaret Lanz. Karen passed away in 1966 from leukemia. Harry adopted her son Jeffrey Todd.

One of Harry's hobbies was stock car racing, which he did from 1953 until 1973. He had a reputation from being a top contender in the local racing circuit. Harry was a 40 plus year member of the Bassett American Legion #123, and also of the Elks #1790 of Ainsworth.

In 1980 Harry purchased land on Bone Creek in Brown County and built his home there. He "farmed", gardened, had an apple orchard, and tinkered with his collection of Ford tractors and mechanical "toys". He also enjoyed going to auctions to add to his collections. Another one of his enjoyments was hunting elk in Montana and Colorado and the annual fall deer hunts in Arthur County.

After his retirement, most days he returned to Northern Plains to "work" and to get in a couple of card games. He would often go with his brother, Duane, to what they call their "Pheasant Farm" to help with fencing, planting trees, and other activities. He made several trips across the country side with Dave to “look at engines”. Harry enjoyed the company of his dog, cats, and the livestock at his place.

Harry passed away August 15, 2020 at the Long Term Care in Bassett, Nebraska after a short stay.

Preceding him in death were his wife Karen of five years, his parents Elmer &amp; Helen Swanson, a brother-in-law Karl Menzel, a nephew Brian Swanson and a niece Sally Stewart.

Survivors include: son Jeff (Jo) Swanson of Bassett, grandchildren Amber (Josh) Chamberlain and Amanda (Brent) Cemer all of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Chad (Connie) Butler of Cassville, Missouri, Kris (Kevin) Pickhinke of Bassett; great-grandchildren, Kadyn Swanson, Evan and Elizabeth Butler, Kastin and Karley Pickhinke, Addisyn Cemer, Alexa and Emmalin Chamberlain. Vicky Jean Hansen, age 60 of North Platte, NE passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Great Plains Health in North Platte.

Memorial service will be Monday, August 24, 2020 at 1:00 PM MT at the St Joseph’s Episcopal Church in Mullen, NE with Terry Hansen officiating. A private family Burial will be held at the Eclipse Cemetery south of Mullen. Vicky was born December 7, 1959 in Mullen, NE to Bob and Charlotte (Erny) Benner. She attended 1st&nbsp;thru 5th&nbsp;grade at District #5 in Tryon, NE and graduated from Mullen High School in 1979. After high school she went on to Mid Plains Community College in North Platte, NE for HVAC. On August 9, 1980 she married Larry Hansen in Mullen. To this union three children were born Cindy in 1983, Kim in 1986, and Brent in 2002.

Vicky worked at the North Platte Schools as a Dietitian, for the Salvation Army, and for 20 years at Orr’s Dry Cleaning. Vicky enjoyed Bowling, NASCAR, she took pride in her home, model trains with her husband, grandchildren, playing games on her phone, getting together with her family and friends.

Vicky was preceded in death by father-in-law, Ole Hansen and a nephew, Troy Benner.

Vicky is survived by her husband Larry of North Platte, children Cindy &amp; husband Ryan Tullis of Arnold, NE, Kim &amp; husband Christopher Wood of North Platte, and Brent Hansen of North Platte, five grandchildren Luke, Gage, Adalei, Nadiea, and Evangeline, parents Bob &amp; Charlotte Benner of Mullen, mother-in-law Sandy Hansen &amp; husband Richard Comer of Seneca, two sisters Patty &amp; husband Lawnie Wolfenden of Mullen, and Debbie Benner of Ogallala, NE and brother Cliff &amp; wife Donna Benner.

To this union three children were born Cindy in 1983, Kim in 1986, and Brent in 2002.Vicky worked at the North Platte Schools as a Dietitian, for the Salvation Army, and for 20 years at Orr’s Dry Cleaning. Vicky Jean Hansen  (1959-2020)

Marie Kleewein, formerly of Colorado, passed away in North Platte, NE, on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at the age of 90.

Marie was born January 12, 1930, to Robert and Dorothy Worth in Rockford, IL, then the family moved to Denver when she was 7. She graduated from North High School then worked for the telephone company.

After Marie and her sister, Mary Lou, were introduced to the Kleewein brothers, the Worth sisters married Kleewein brothers. On May 31, 1952, Marie was united in marriage to Joseph Kleewein at Castle Rock, CO. The couple lived in Englewood, CO, where Marie stayed home to raise their four children. She loved helping with her kid’s activities and just being around kids. She was a leader for Cub Scouts, 4-H, Brownies and Blue Birds, and a volunteer at Englewood Schools, helping in the kitchen and as a classroom aide. Marie loved being a mom and was by far the Best Mom In The World!

In her free time she liked crocheting, painting and playing her Baldwin upright piano, which she’d had since she was 16 years old. Marie was a member of Sigma Kapa Pi Sorority (a business girls sorority) when she was younger.

After Joseph died in 2017, Marie moved to North Platte to be closer to her daughter, Charlotte Rolf.

Marie is survived by her children, Robert (Patti) Kleewein, of Highlands Ranch, CO, Marvin Kleewein, of Englewood, CO, and Charlotte Rolf, of North Platte, NE; son-in-law, Otto Hultgren, of Michigan; grandchildren, Jeremy, Adrianne, Walter, Lancer, Jason and Nathan; great-grandchildren, Elliot and Asthlyn; and other family.

Along with her husband, Marie was preceded in death by their daughter, Mary Hultgren; her parents, Robert and Dorothy Worth; sister, Mary Lou Kleewein; and son-in-law, Richard Rolf.

Dayton Armstrong, age 75 of Ogallala, passed away Monday, August 17, 2020, at Perkins County Community Hospital in Grant. Dayton was born February 19, 1945, at Ogallala, Nebraska to J. Raymond and Lottie M. (Branz) Armstrong. Dayton graduated from Brule High School with the class of 1963. On August 1, 1964, Dayton married Jeanine Myers, and the couple made their home in Ogallala. Dayton worked as a lineman for the Union Pacific Railroad for a few years before going to work for TRW. He started on the line and eventually worked his way into a technician role. After TRW, Dayton worked as a District Representative for the National Federation of Independent Businesses, which lobbied for the small business sector. He would later start a snack business called D &amp; J Enterprises, which involved the development of a sales route that he and his wife serviced for many years. Dayton and Jeanine also bought, sold, and rented real estate throughout the area for many years. Their endeavors helped a number of people in the purchase of their first home. Dayton loved to travel. Every year, he would plan and arrange for the family to go on a vacation together, even his extended family. From Fort Robinson, Nebraska to Utah, there were times when the Armstrong vacations would have nearly 100 people enjoying the getaway. These vacations were often the settings for the best memories. There were often car caravans, card playing, food, and rodeos to be enjoyed by all. Dayton was a member of the Church of God, and was always a person of faith. He was generous and family-oriented. Dayton usually had a smile on his face, and a ball cap on his head. Dayton was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Dean; sister, Karen Senyard; 2 brothers-in-law, Virgil Leach, and Jim Crawford. Karren L. Elmhaeuser, age 79 of Ogallala, Nebraska passed away Friday, August 14, 2020, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Karren was born August 2, 1941, at Julesburg, Colorado, to Matthew and Violet (Wilson) Schmitt. She graduated from Perkins County High School in Grant, Nebraska with the class of 1959. After graduation, she attended Central Business College in Denver, CO graduating in 1960. Karren then moved to Greeley, CO where she worked for a year in the Real Estate Department of the Greeley National Bank. On June 17, 1961 Karren married a native Ogallala boy, Roger Elmshaeuser, at Grant. The couple lived in Greeley until 1962 when they moved to Ogallala. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Loretta and Teresa. After moving back to Ogallala, Karren was a stay-at-home mom for their two daughters until 1970 when she went to work at the Ogallala Public School Superintendent's office. She worked as secretary for the superintendent, and later the athletic director, before becoming a bookkeeper for the District. Karren worked for 37 years at Ogallala Public Schools retiring in August of 2007. Karren was also the bookkeeper for her husband's portable welding business. She began selling Avon in 1986 and after retirement from the school district, became a substitute para-educator (teacher's aide) for the Ogallala schools. She also sold tickets at all home ball games which she had done for the majority of her 37 years. Karren was a longtime member of St. Luke's Catholic Church, where she had taught Faith Formation for more than 50 years. She was also very active in the Altar Society and Women's Choir. Karren was preceded in death by her parents, one half-brother Darrold Pierpoint, one half-sister, Jean (Schmitt) Welch and a brother Leonard Schmitt. Survivors include her husband, Roger, children Loretta and Teresa, grandchildren, Chad George, Jessie Elmshaeuser, Tiffany George, Felicia (George) Richardson, Orin George and one great-grandson, Rowdy Richardson. Edward “Edd” Dean Harrach, age 74, of North Platte, NE, passed away on August 18, 2020 at Linden Court in North Platte.

He was born on August 6, 1946 in North Platte, Nebraska to Elmer and Doris Harrach. He married Judy on April 11, 1964 in North Platte where they spent 56 years together. Edd was employed by Union Pacific Railroad as a Locomotive engineer.

Edd is survived by his wife, Judy: daughter, Camalynn (Larry) Clark; grandchildren, Christopher (Kristin) Hedgecock and Jordan (James) Forstrom; great grandchildren, Brynnley and Owen Hedgecock and Avery Forstrom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Doris Harrach.

Trumbull, age 84, of North Platte, Nebraska, formerly of Tryon, Nebraska, died on August 17, 2020 at Great Plains Health. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Helen was born on August 7, 1936 to Clyde and Lulu (Haney) Wilson in Tryon, Nebraska.&nbsp; She attended and graduated from McPherson County High School with the class of 1954.&nbsp; Helen began teaching at a county school in Elsmere, Nebraska while taking classes at Kearney Teachers College.&nbsp; On December 23, 1956 she married Larry Trumbull in Tyron, NE.&nbsp; The couple lived west of Ringgold, Nebraska where Helen raised their children and Larry. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Helen was a member of the United Methodist Church, always raised a big garden, was active in extension clubs, enjoyed embroidery, playing pitch and going to the senior dances.&nbsp; She was very family oriented and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Preceding her in death were her parents; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Trumbull; a son-in-law, Mike Mell; brothers Jim (Doris) Wilson and John Wilson; a sister, Loree (Marvin) Huffman; and in-laws Harry and Marie Trumbull. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Helen is survived by her husband, Larry; children, Rod Trumbull of Opelika, Alabama, Rick (Rose) Trumbull of Tryon, Nebraska, Roger (Kim) Trumbull of North Platte, Nebraska, Mark (Stacey) Trumbull of Ogallala, Nebraska, and Michelle Mell of Ogallala, Nebraska; grandchildren, Wendy Trumbull (Rod Schall) of Kearney, Nebraska, Tracy (Rocky) Wiezorek of North Platte, Nebraska, Holly Trumbull of Kearney, Nebraska, Matt (Mary) Trumbull of Madison, Alabama, Al and Eric (Crista) Trumbull of Tryon, Nebraka, Whitney (Shane) Ruh of Tryon, Nebraska, Sidney Mell of Lincoln, Nebraska, Shawna Mell of Kearney, Nebraska, Landon Trumbull of Rapid City, South Dakota, Kameryn Trumbull of Ogallala, Nebraska, and Derek (Stephanie) Uhrmacher of Ayr, Nebraska; great-grandchildren Shaw Frederick-Mell of Kearney, Nebraska, Cameron McClellen of Kearney, Nebraska, Jestena Wiezorek, Lilye Wiezorek, Kaurlee Wiezorek, Mystre Wiezorek, Novalia Wiezorek, and Olyve Wiezorek all of North Platte, Nebraska, Lane Beck of Central City, Nebraska, Sophie Armour of Ayr, Nebraska and Olivia Uhrmacher of Ayr, Nebraska; a brother, Bob (Velma) Wilson of Brownsville, Texas; a sister-in-law, Marge Wilson of Omaha, Nebraska; a hose of nieces, nephews and many friends. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Memorials have been established in Helen's name to Great Plains Health Foundation or the First United Methodist Church. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;A private family service will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska with Rev. Helen Harriett Trumbull  (1936 - 2020)

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Larry Vernon Liljestrand, age 70, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away on August 18, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. &nbsp; &nbsp; He was born on February 9, 1950 at Dr. B.W. Pyle's Hospital above the Potter Pharmacy in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Vernon and Alice (Johnson) Liljestrand.&nbsp; Larry grew up on a farm south of Brady, Nebraska with his older sister Marie (Liljestrand) Duis and graduated from Brady High School in 1968. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Larry married the love of his life, Patricia Ann McCarty on March 21, 1970, the first day of spring in that year.&nbsp; Two children were born to this union, Lisa and Adam.&nbsp; Larry continued his family's work on the farm south of Brady until 1977 when he traded the plow for the diesel engine of the train with the Union Pacific Railroad.&nbsp; The fmaily made the move to North Platte in 1979 and continue to reside in the same house today.&nbsp; He worked his way up to engineer over the years, retiring in 2012, putting in over 34 years of service to the Union Pacific Railroad. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Larry enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting deer, pheasants and geese.&nbsp; He became a certified scuba diver and loved going spearfishing and competing in spearfish tournaments.&nbsp; Larry enjoyed being the captain of his boat and camping at Lake McConaughey, as well as following his kids' sporting events. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Copper Mountain home was the perfect excuse to take the family snow skiing in the winter and a peaceful getaway in the summer.&nbsp; It was also a good escape, used to visit Black Hawk and Central City to partake in another favorite activity of battling the "1-armed bandits" and of course, to visit the casino's in Council Bluffs, too. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Larry and Patricia loved to travel together.&nbsp; They took many cruises, one for Lisa and Mark's wedding, through the Panama Canal, Hawaii, and others.&nbsp; They took a cross country road trip with family in a tightly packed minivan to Disney World, stopping in Nashville and Branson.&nbsp; Another favorite trip was to Pennsylvania to see Lisa graduate from War College, stopping in Hershey for chocolate and a few cases of Yuengling to bring back home.&nbsp; They were always taking trips across Nebraska and Kansas for birthdays, football games, rodeos, dance recitals and holidays. &nbsp; &nbsp; He was a man of few words, he loved quietly, protected fiercely, worked hard, and played harder.&nbsp; Larry was a wonderful provider, loving son, brother, father, grandfather, and husband.&nbsp; His ornery half smile, chuckle and dry sense of humor stayed with everyone until the very end, even when his body was failing.&nbsp; Larry will be missed dearly by all who know him.&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Survivors include his wife, Trish of North Platte, NE; two children, Lisa (Mark) Mullinax of Wamego, Kansas, and Adam (Denise) Liljestrand of Omaha, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Kyle (Kelly) Weishaar of Topeka, Kansas, Connor Liljestrand of Bertrand, Nebraska, Haley Mullinax of Wamego, Kansas, Lily Liljestrand of Omaha, Nebraska, and Alyvia Liljestrand of Omaha, Nebraska; one great grandchild, Jason Weishaar of Topeka, Kansas; and numerous other family members and friends. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marie Duis. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association, Nebraska Chapter and online condolences can be made at www.adamsswanson.com. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Funeral services will be held at Harvest Christian Fellowship on Monday, August 24, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Jeremy Rinke officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at the Gaslin Cemetery in Brady, Nebraska.&nbsp; Visitation will be from noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2020 with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.&nbsp; Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home at 421 West 4th Street in North Platte, NE is in charge of arrangements.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Betsy Ann Wright, age 80, of North Platte, Nebraska died on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 in North Platte. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Betsy was born at Four Oaks, North Carolina to William and Susan (Johnson) Allen on June 23, 1940.&nbsp; She graduated from Four Oaks High School in 1959 and Kings Business College in 1960, then started working. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;On August 14, 1965, Betsy married Earl Howard Wright at Smithville, North Carolina and they made their home in Four Oaks until moving to North Platte, Nebraska in 1976.&nbsp; Betsy went to work for Centennial Park Retirement Village in the Dietary Department and worked there for 21 years until retiring in 2009 as Food Service Supervisor. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Betsy was a member of First Christian Church, Lincoln County Historical Society and R.S.V.P.&nbsp; She cared for her family and friends and especially loved all of her dachshunds, which she had in her home for over 50 years. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Betsy was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, and her daughter, DeLou Smith; her parents, William and Susan Allen; a grandson, Brian Wright; and all her siblings, Ruth Stewart, Ruby Strickland, and Joseph, Ralph, Wilton and Eugene Allen. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She is survived by her family which includes Bill (Jodi) Allen of Lincoln, Nebraska and their kids, Keenan, Kyle, and Joe; Lewis (Patsy) Allen, Kathy (Roger) Parker, and Joseph Allen all of Four Oaks, NC; Harvey (Barbara) Stewart of Benson, NC; Gail (Dennis) Massengill of Newark, DE; Larry Reynolds of North Platte, NE; Penny (Bill) Kramer of North Platte and their children Taylor Skala, Alisha &amp; Todd Herndon, and Gunnar; Teresa Scott of Toccoa, GA; son-in-law Gene Smith and family of Fontana, CA; grandchildren Brandie Trujillo and Jerry and Novem Smith; her little dachshund, Lucy Lou; and other family members. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Cremation was chosen.&nbsp; Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2020 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell, Nebraska.&nbsp; The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com, or at Odean Colonial Chapel at C &amp; Sycamore in North Platte which is in charge of arrangements.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Christian Church in North Platte.

Eleanor Leona (Pieper) Grabouski, ­­age 90, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on August 7, 2020.&nbsp; Faith-filled, patient, kind, gracious, hospitable, an encourager, a prayer warrior, a good listener, loving wife, nurturing mother, grandmother &amp; great grandmother--all of these describe Eleanor. &nbsp;She loved the Lord with all her heart and lived a life reflecting Him. “As God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12.&nbsp; With her beautiful penmanship, Eleanor wrote so many cards, notes and letters of encouragement. &nbsp;She brightened our days with singing, and saw the best in others.

Eleanor was the fourth of 5 children born September 23, 1929 to William and Dora Pieper of Beatrice, Nebraska.&nbsp; She grew up on the family farm and attended country school.&nbsp; Following her graduation from Beatrice High School in 1945, she worked for Beatrice Medical Group as a receptionist.&nbsp; Eleanor married Philip Grabouski on March 28, 1948 at a country church, Emmaus Lutheran, where she was also baptized and confirmed.&nbsp; They farmed south of Beatrice, moving to North Platte, NE in 1957 after Philip accepted a position as Assistant Professor of Agronomy for the University of Nebraska.&nbsp; Their marriage was blessed with 8 children—Jan, Joy, Jeff, Jill, Julie, Jody, Jim &amp; John, arriving over eleven and a half years.

Eleanor was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church for nearly 60 years.&nbsp; After her children were grown, she served as a teacher’s aide at Our Redeemer School for 9 years.&nbsp; She enjoyed traveling with husband Philip in retirement.&nbsp; After husband Phil's passing in 2015 she relocated to Legacy Estates in Lincoln, NE, where she was given loving care.

Eleanor is survived by her children-Jan (Les Ravenscroft of North Platte, NE), Joy (Jay Callahan of Lincoln, NE), Jeff of San Diego, CA, Jill (Michael Jank of Lincoln), Julie (Rich Weese of Kansas City, MO), Jody (Russ Brown of Arlington, TX), Jim (Jacque Patterson of Sioux City, IA) and John Grabouski of Lincoln NE; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grand children; brothers Dale (Janice) &nbsp;&amp; Norman (Bernadine) Pieper.&nbsp;

Mrs. LaDonna Ann Perlinger, 81, of North Platte, died August 7, 2020 at UNMC in Omaha, NE.

She was born on August 17, 1939 in Madrid, NE to Virgil and Margaret Johnson. She was raised in Madrid, NE where she grew up and attended Madrid High School.

LaDonna was united in marriage to Larry Perlinger on October 20, 1962 at Grant, NE. They lived in Madrid and Grant before moving to North Platte. To this union, they had three children: Garret, Vincent, and Anna. She loved being a homemaker and was on the go visiting with friends and spending time with family.

She embraced her Catholic Faith where she was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Marriage encounter, Charismatic Prayer Group and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include her children, Vincent and Anna Perlinger; grandson, Garrett Theiler; granddaughter, Shayla (Samuel) Dunn; sisters, Shirley (Bob) McCormick, Noni (Don) Thiesen, Marlene Mohr and brother in law, Dale McCollam, and many nieces and nephews.

Caitlin Jo Murphy, 26, of North Platte, passed away August 11, 2020 at her home.&nbsp; She was born on August 2, 1994 to Ronald Dean Murphy and Alicea Renea Silos.

Caitlin graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 2014. She worked at McDonald’s for several years, Casey’s and had currently been working at the Opportunity Center.

Caitlin was a kind hearted, loving person who was always going out of her way to help others.&nbsp; She made friends everywhere she went. She was a very caring and loving mother.

Survivors include 3 children, Camden, Rylan and Teagan; father, Ronald D. Murphy Jr. (Julie Niles) of North Platte; mother, Alicea Silos (Michael Renfroe) of Hastings; siblings Cassandra Murphy of Maxwell. Caitlin Jo Murphpy (1994-2020)

Doris D. Miller, 84, passed away August 10, 2020, at her home in Hershey.&nbsp; She was born November 17, 1935, in Campo, CO, to John and Floice (Caudle) Dixon as the second of six children.&nbsp; She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior as a child.&nbsp; After attending teaching college in Goodwell, OK, she moved to Plains, KS, to begin her teaching career at age 19.&nbsp; On March 16, 1958, she was united in marriage to Vernon Lee Miller.&nbsp; After 20 years in Kansas, the family moved to Nebraska in 1978.&nbsp; Through her life, Doris was mother to two, grandmother to eight, foster mother to seven, and mother/grandmother figure to numerous others.

Doris taught school for Kismet Public Schools, Kismet, KS, and Wallace Public Schools, Wallace, NE, teaching grades 2 and 4.&nbsp; She taught for 44 years and touched many lives before retiring.&nbsp; She had many hobbies, including but not limited to painting, silversmithing, gardening, reading, and decorating.&nbsp; Doris loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and dedicated her life to serving God and being a witness to others.&nbsp; She was an active member of her church communities: Campo Baptist Church, Kismet Baptist Church, Wallace Methodist Church, and Bethel Evangelical Free Church.

Miller, 84, passed away August 10, 2020, at her home in Hershey.&nbsp; She was born November 17, 1935, in Campo, CO, to John and Floice (Caudle) Dixon as the second of six children.&nbsp; She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior as a child.&nbsp; After attending teaching college in Goodwell, OK, she moved to Plains, KS, to begin her teaching career at age 19.&nbsp; On March 16, 1958, she was united in marriage to Vernon Lee Miller.&nbsp; After 20 years in Kansas, the family moved to Nebraska in 1978.&nbsp; Through her life, Doris was mother to two, grandmother to eight, foster mother to seven, and mother/grandmother figure to numerous others.Doris taught school for Kismet Public Schools, Kismet, KS, and Wallace Public Schools, Wallace, NE, teaching grades 2 and 4.&nbsp; She taught for 44 years and touched many lives before retiring.&nbsp; She had many hobbies, including but not limited to painting, silversmithing, gardening, reading, and decorating.&nbsp; Doris loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and dedicated her life to serving God and being a witness to others.&nbsp; She was an active member of her church communities: Campo Baptist Church, Kismet Baptist Church, Wallace Methodist Church, and Bethel Evangelical Free Church.Survivors include her husband Vernon; son, Larry (Rhonda) Miller, Alliance, NE; daughter, Barbara (Rex) Ruppert, Benson, MN; grandchildren, Ryan (Jeanette) Miller, Knoxville, TN; Kristen Miller, Alliance, NE;Caleb (Leigh) Miller, Iowa Falls, IA; Hannah Miller, Alliance, NE; Anthony (Kaitlin) Ruppert, Golden Valley, &nbsp;MN; Christal Ruppert, Ramsey, MN; Kyle Ruppert, Zimmerman, MN; Tyler Sutton, Benson, MN; brother, Joe Dixon, Campo, CO; sisters, Shirley (Delbert) Williams, &nbsp;Admire, KS; Janet (Darrell) Damon and Jeanie Dixon, Ulysses, KS.Doris was preceded in death by her parents, John and Floice Dixon; sister Katherine Imogene Dixon; and sister-in-law Lola Dixon.Graveside services will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, August 14, 2020 at Morning View Cemetery, Wallace, NE. &nbsp;Funeral services immediately following burial, 11:30 a.m., at Bethel Evangelical Free Church, North Platte, with Rev. Doris D. Miller  (1935-2020)

William Boyd Mathews was born April 14, 1927, in rural Chase County, to William M. and Edna Marie (Bremer) Mathews.&nbsp; In his young years he grew up in rural Chase County attending rural District #10 grade school. Boyd (as he was known) went on to graduate from Chase County High School in 1945.&nbsp; After graduation Boyd was turned down from the serving during WWII because of his hearing, and took an opportunity to attend Colorado A&amp;M on a track scholarship.&nbsp; He returned to Chase County after his graduation and began his long career in farming. Boyd married Joan A. Monasmith on December 26, 1950, in Holyoke Colorado, and the couple settled on the family farm nine miles west of Imperial.&nbsp; Raising their family and farming became their life long ambitions until retirement.&nbsp; Boyd and Joan retired and made Imperial their home. Boyd passed away Saturday, August 1, 2020, at the Imperial Manor and Parkview View Heights Care Center, Imperial.&nbsp; He was 93 years of age. Kenny passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020, at Norfolk, Nebraska.  He was 63 years of age.

Kenneth Frank Rider was born April 7, 1957, at Imperial, Nebraska, to Eugene F. and Marilyn E (Pflum) Rider.&nbsp; In his young years, he grew up and attended school in McCook, graduating from McCook High School in 1976.&nbsp; Kenny (as he was known) participated in track and was a member of the swim team. Kenny was employed at the 7-Up Bottling Plant in McCook and worked on his grandparent’s farm near Enders, Nebraska.&nbsp; He enjoyed his time on the farm and the family cabin at Enders Reservoir.&nbsp; He especially loved to ride motorcycles, playing tennis, and spending time and caring for all the family pets.

Survivors Include: Mother: Marilyn Rider of McCook, Ne Sister: Kimberly Rider of Wauneta, NE Many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins Kenny was preceded in death by his Father; Eugene, Grandparents; Frank and Maryan Rider, Roger and Teresa Pflum.
