&nbsp; Steven John Bishop, 76, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington.

He was born on October 3, 1947, in Grand Island, Nebraska, to Ralph and Irene (Rathbun) Bishop. He attended Grand Island Public Schools and later graduated from Grand Island High School. After graduating, Steve joined the United States Navy where he proudly served his country. Steve later joined the Union Pacific Railroad where he worked as an engineer for over 40 years before retiring. While living in North Platte, he met the love of his life, Candace Clark. Together, they made their home in Lexington, Nebraska in 2004.

Steve could be loud and gruff, but he was also known to be incredibly generous and such a good man. He had a big heart and deeply loved his family, especially his grandkids and great grandkids. He held a special place in his heart for animals as well, especially his beloved cat, Eric. Traveling was a shared joy he had with his wife, Candace, and spent a lot of time at Estes Park. In his younger years, Steve liked to stay active and as he got older, you would often find him walking on his treadmill for hours or biking around town. In his free time, he enjoyed reading non-fiction and history books.

&nbsp;Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Candace Bishop of Lexington; children, Ron (Carolyn) Bishop of Texas, and Angela (Mike) Martinson of Omaha; stepchildren, Brandy Elsten of North Platte, Christopher Elsten of North Platte, Jannelle Schilmoeller of North Platte, and Daniel Elsten of Hastings; sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; brother, Stan (Jane) Bishop of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters, Sharon of Kearney and Sue Bishop of Omaha; sisters-in-law, Janice (Steve) Steffenson of Columbus and Lauretta (Dennis) Shaver of Sioux City, Iowa; brother-in-law, Tim (Nancy) Clark of Columbus, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Steven Jon Bishop (1947-2024)

Wyona Violet Shackelford, age 90, of Trenton, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, April 24th, 2024, at Community Hospital in McCook with family by her side. She was born in Culbertson, NE on March 3, 1934, to Clyde and Irene (Isaac) Matson. Wyona attended and graduated from Trenton High School in 1952. While in high school she was a waitress at the Trenton Café. That is where she met the love of her life, Dean Shackelford. On July 8, 1953, Wyona &amp; Dean were united in marriage at the Hitchcock County Courthouse in Trenton. Shortly after they married, Dean was drafted into the Army and stationed in Germany. At age 19, Wyona went to New York to board a passenger ship and go to Germany to be with her husband. While at sea the ship she was on was hit by a Freightliner. The larger ship caused extensive damage to the passenger ship. The passenger ship had to be towed back to port in New York leaving Wyona stranded alone in New York for a week while repairs were made. Dean could not be notified until the ship made port back in New York.

Wyona was a servant for the Lord. She was a cancer survivor having taken many chemotherapy treatments in Denver in the 1980's. She said the way she made it through the treatments was with Dean holding one of her hands and Jesus holding her other hand. She was a lifetime active member of the Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women's group, sang in the Church Choir, held many positions on the Church Council Board, and hosted Bible Study in her home. She enjoyed sewing and made several outfits for her kids as they were growing up. She embroidered, made crafts, and painted ceramics, some of which she did together with her Mom. She was an amazing cook. You never went home hungry when you left her home. She belonged to a Couple's Card Club and MNO (Mothers Night Out) Women's Group. Wyona had a green thumb.She could make anything grow. Wyona had a large vegetable garden and beautiful flower beds. She always shared produce and flowers that she had raised. When her children were young, her &amp; Dean often took the family to the lake after church on Sunday's where they ate a picnic lunch, then went out on the water on the pontoon for the afternoon. Dean &amp; Wyona also started a family tradition of taking the family to the Nebraska State Fair. That has continued to be a fun tradition for the family even to this day. &nbsp;

Wyona loved her family dearly. She had a way of making each one of her family members feel special, and always made sure they knew how much she loved them.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Irene Matson; husband, Dean Shackelford; son, Jerry Shackelford; son-in-law, Spencer Sydow; great grandson, Jared Chitwood; sister and brother-in-law, Neioma &amp; Alan Meguire; Brother, Gaylord Matson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Virgil &amp; Ruth Shackelford; sister-in-law and her husband, Shirley &amp; Hank Stecker; sister-in-law and her husband, Patricia &amp; Burdette Melchert..

Sheri Fales was born June 17, 1953, in Jefferson, IA, to Harold and Eleanor Anderson. She passed away at her home in North Platte on April 27, 2024, at age 70.

Sheri grew up in Cooper, IA, and graduated from Jefferson, Iowa High School in 1971. She continued her education in Des Moines at Bible College where she met Sarah, Jennifer and Angela's father, Robert.&nbsp;

She and Robert were called into the ministry and served in Iowa and Nebraska for 17 years. &nbsp;Sheri loved Jesus her whole life and used this talent to help others find joy and peace.

She started on her journey with husband, Chuck Fales on April 10, 1997. &nbsp;Sheri worked at Great Plains Medical Center and Centennial Park for over 30 years. &nbsp;She continued serving people until the very end.

Sheri loved her family, to sing, and play her keyboard. &nbsp;She also loved nature: the birds, butterflies, and feeding the animals at Cody Park with Chuck or whichever grandkids were with her that day. &nbsp;She especially loved eating ice cream afterwards and taking the grandkids on the rides at Cody Park. &nbsp;Sheri was loved by all throughout the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles, and her brother, Harold.

Sheri is survived by her husband, Chuck; daughters, Sarah Clark, Jennifer Weaver (Tim), Angela Sharpe (David), Melissa Harms (Rick) and Melony Rongisch (Rob); grandkids, Kalin, Whitney, Emily, Trey, Jessica, Christopher, Dillon, Cassidy, Brodi and Maddie; eight great-grandkids; her siblings, Don Anderson (Sandra) and Carol Martin (Jim); and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Sheri Fales (1953-2024)

Bruce&nbsp;Allen of North Platte passed away April 26, 2024, at age 87.

Bruce was born to Floyd and Leola Allen at Paxton on April 29, 1936. &nbsp;The family later moved to the Tryon area, then to North Platte in 1950. &nbsp;When he was 17, Bruce hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad.

On June 18, 1955, he married his sweetheart, Sharon Barrett at North Platte. &nbsp;To this union a son, Mitchell, and daughter, Brenda, were born.

Bruce left the railroad in 1962 to work as a Lincoln County Deputy Sheriff then, six years later, went to work as a North Platte Fireman. &nbsp;He retired with the rank of Captain in 1993.

While working for the City of North Platte, Bruce went to school and got his real estate license in 1978 and later a real estate brokers license. &nbsp;He sold real estate for several years.

In 1994, Bruce and Sharon moved to the ranch north of Hershey. &nbsp;They raised black angus cattle with their daughter and son-in-law while at the same time Bruce worked as a maintenance manager for the Sutherland Care Center. &nbsp;They sold the ranch in 2012, moved back to North Platte, and Bruce completely retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and parents-in-law; his sister, Wanda Daly; and brothers, Wilford "Bud" and Victor "Vic" Allen.

Bruce is survived by his wife of more than 68 years, Sharon; son, Mitchell (Shelly) of Hershey; daughter, Brenda (Douglas) Taylor of North Platte; grandchildren, Brandt Taylor, &nbsp;Scott (Shannon) Taylor and Jessica Allen; great-grandkids, Jason and Shawn; sisters, Zola (Bill) Karn and Karen Empfield, all of Stapleton; and other family.

Bruce O. Allen (1936-2024)

Marilyn&nbsp;Simon&nbsp;Mulligan peacefully passed away at the Sutherland Care Center on April 25, 2024, at the age of 97.

Marilyn was born June 12, 1926, to Francisco and Margarita Reyes in Windsor, CO. &nbsp;She grew up in the Sutherland and Hershey area with her brothers and sisters.

In 1956, Marilyn married Joseph Simon of North Platte and they had two daughters, Lesa and Elaine. &nbsp;After Joe passed away in 1989, she married Billy Mulligan of Hershey in 1992.

Marilyn was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked many years in North Platte for St. Mary's Hospital, Dr. Takenaga, Dr. Nakamura, People's Family Health Services and West Central Nebraska Area Agency on Aging. &nbsp;She was the quintessential care giver.

Along with her first husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, Juan-Manuel, Joe, Manual (Inez) Frank (Evangeline), Moses (Pat) and Ralph; sister, Carmen Vieyra; and brothers-in-law, Johnny Vieyra, Vidal Navarro and Roger Peckham.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 31 years, Bill Mulligan of North Platte; daughters, Lesa (Craig) Kautz of Hastings and Elaine (Randy) Lenz of Maywood and stepdaughter, Billie Freihage of North Platte; grandchildren, Jordan (Dara) Kautz and Jed (Erin) Kautz and step-grandchildren, Christy (Jesse) Augustin and Shane (Kelsie) Freihage and Darcy, Stacy and Torey Lenz; 10 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Joseph (Hope), Larry (Ruthie) and Carlos; sisters, Hope Navarro, Rose Peckham, Esmeralda (Bill) Michael and Jessica (Doug) Johnson; sisters-in-law, Janie Reyes and Griselda Reyes; many nieces, nephews, other family and her friends.

 </figure>Marilyn&nbsp;Simon&nbsp;Mulligan peacefully passed away at the Sutherland Care Center on April 25, 2024, at the age of 97.Marilyn was born June 12, 1926, to Francisco and Margarita Reyes in Windsor, CO. &nbsp;She grew up in the Sutherland and Hershey area with her brothers and sisters.In 1956, Marilyn married Joseph Simon of North Platte and they had two daughters, Lesa and Elaine. &nbsp;After Joe passed away in 1989, she married Billy Mulligan of Hershey in 1992.Marilyn was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked many years in North Platte for St. Mary's Hospital, Dr. Takenaga, Dr. Nakamura, People's Family Health Services and West Central Nebraska Area Agency on Aging. &nbsp;She was the quintessential care giver.Along with her first husband, Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters-in-law, Juan-Manuel, Joe, Manual (Inez) Frank (Evangeline), Moses (Pat) and Ralph; sister, Carmen Vieyra; and brothers-in-law, Johnny Vieyra, Vidal Navarro and Roger Peckham.Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 31 years, Bill Mulligan of North Platte; daughters, Lesa (Craig) Kautz of Hastings and Elaine (Randy) Lenz of Maywood and stepdaughter, Billie Freihage of North Platte; grandchildren, Jordan (Dara) Kautz and Jed (Erin) Kautz and step-grandchildren, Christy (Jesse) Augustin and Shane (Kelsie) Freihage and Darcy, Stacy and Torey Lenz; 10 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Joseph (Hope), Larry (Ruthie) and Carlos; sisters, Hope Navarro, Rose Peckham, Esmeralda (Bill) Michael and Jessica (Doug) Johnson; sisters-in-law, Janie Reyes and Griselda Reyes; many nieces, nephews, other family and her friends.

JoAnne&nbsp;Grady of North Platte passed away at Linden Court on January 7, 2024, at the age of 82.&nbsp; She was born June 20, 1941 to Maxwell and LaRena (Dantice) Willson. JoAnne grew up in North Platte, graduating from NPHS in 1959. &nbsp;

As a teenager JoAnne attended Methodist church camp, and it was there she first met her life partner, Wes Grady. &nbsp;She went to Denver University for her freshman year in college, then spent the summer with one of her sisters living in Orange County, California. One of JoAnne's favorite stories from that time was when she served lunch to Walt Disney. After that summer, JoAnne transferred to the University of Nebraska where she and Wes reconnected, and she graduated with a degree in education. The newlyweds moved to North Platte where they lived their entire adult lives.

JoAnne's profession was as a speech therapist and later a substitute teacher. Her true joy was volunteering in the community she loved. &nbsp;Some of the many organizations JoAnne was active in include: Goodfellow Shoe Fund, National Honor Society, P.E.O., Heartland Singers, Great Plains Medical Center volunteer, and the First United Methodist Church. Above all JoAnne loved Wes and her three boys, encouraging them throughout her life. She truly loved her family, friends, acquaintances and strangers, caring for them, wanting to help them, and going out of her way to make them feel special.&nbsp;&nbsp;Above all JoAnne loved Wes and their three boys, encouraging them throughout her life.

&nbsp;JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents, Maxwell and LaRena (Dantice) Willson; husband, Wes; sisters, Jean Humphrey and Betty Humphrey.&nbsp;

JoAnne Grady (1941-2024)

Linda Marie Konruff, 76, passed away in the early morning of Saturday, April 20th, 2024 in Yukon, Oklahoma with her sister, nephew, and hospice nurse at her side.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Linda was born October 18,1947 in North Platte, Nebraska to her loving parents Charles B. and Janet L. “Hammond” Konruff. She attended North Platte Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1966. Linda was employed by Professional Collection Service for many years until her retirement. &nbsp;She loved her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews and would do anything for them. &nbsp;Linda was so happy when her niece recently made a visit with her &nbsp;new great nephew Hudson, and she enjoyed holding and kissing him. &nbsp;While living in North Platte, Linda was an active member of the First Christian Church, serving as an elder, chairman of the memorial committee and a member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship (CFW), teaching Sunday School, helping with Vacation Bible School, and serving communion to the shut-ins. She liked to wash dishes at funeral dinners at the church and when she volunteered at the Salvation Army, because she could not cook. Linda and her mom were also members and enjoyed volunteering for RSVP. A year after their mother’s death in 2018, Linda moved from North Platte to Yukon, OK to live with her sister Marj. Somehow, they survived the pandemic and Marj and Brett soon became her caregivers as her dementia progressed. &nbsp;Linda had an infectious smile to the very end. She loved watching Nebraska football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, and softball and became a fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Through the end of her life, Linda loved (besides her family and friends) ice cream/sweets, pizza, Baums “little hamburgers,” the color purple, bright color cars, and cappuccino. &nbsp;Her great nephews (Jackson, Oliver, Jason, Hudson) brought her great joy whether on FaceTime or looking at pictures and videos. &nbsp;

Linda was preceded in death by her loving parents, brother Terry, grandparents, great grandparents, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. &nbsp;She is survived by her sister Marj Konruff of Yukon, OK; nephew Brett Nichelson of Oklahoma City, OK; niece Ashlee Rice (Justin) of Monterey, TN; sister-in-law Carole Konruff of Kansas City, MO; niece Lisa Konruff and wife Lindsey of Lafayette, CO; nephew Adam Konruff of Kansas City, MO; niece Staci (Mark) Haase of Tampa, FL; nephew Shane Roberts of Kansas City, MO. &nbsp;Linda also loved her great nieces and nephews Laci, Kelli (Anthony/Enzo), Kenny, Elijah, Eva, Elliott, Graysen, and Ryan; as well as Jackson, Oliver, Jason, and Hudson Rice. She was also close with her cousins Dennis and Vicki Osmera and Julie Baird. &nbsp;Linda loved and had the BEST FRIENDS ever, Kaye Gibbons, Mary Hughes, and Mary Fairley, who will be in our hearts forever.

He grew up and attended school in North Platte. Charles worked at K9 Condo for over 20 years. He loved to golf and Nebraska Football. Charles will be remembered as a kind sweet man, who never knew a stranger. He was very family oriented and good to them.

Charles Lee Stoeger (1977-2024)

Dorothy Ruth (Noble) Conger passed away April 19, 2024, in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was 92 years of age.&nbsp;

Dorothy was born October 1, 1931, to Charles Henry Noble and Ruth Emily (Wurtzel) Noble. Dorothy was born at the Genoa Indian School in Genoa, Nebraska, where her father was employed.&nbsp;

She graduated from Genoa High School in 1949 as the valedictorian. She attended Norfolk Junior College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, graduating with distinction in 1959. She later attended Kearney State College, earning a fifth-year master teaching certificate. She taught school in Lincoln, Superior, Minden, and 20 years in North Platte, retiring in 1989. She especially enjoyed teaching math and Nebraska history.

She married Ralph Joseph “Joe” Conger on September 3, 1950, and lived and taught in the towns mentioned above. The couple moved to North Platte in 1958. Three children were born to this union. Dorothy and Joe have five grandsons and one granddaughter.

Dorothy was a member of Chapter AK, PEO. She did years of volunteer work for the American Cancer Society and the American Red Cross, giving 14 gallons of whole blood and more than 275 units of platelets, and helping with many blood drives. She also enjoyed family, friends, quilting, reading, and traveling. Dorothy and Joe endowed several scholarships for North Platte area youth to continue their education at Mid-Plains Community College. They also funded swimming lessons for hundreds of children in North Platte. In 2021, the Mid-Nebraska Community Foundation presented Joe and Dorothy the Above and Beyond Award for extraordinary acts of charitable giving.

Survivors include her husband Joe, son Kirk Conger (Cindy) of Lincoln, Nebraska; two daughters Valerie Conger (Andy) of Scotia, Nebraska, and Beth Cizadlo (Ted) of Wellington, New Zealand; and six grandchildren Kyle Arens, Craig (Elle) Conger, Lauren Conger, Eric Miksch, Woodrow Cizadlo, and Clement Cizadlo.&nbsp;

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Helen Huebner (Royal), and Charlotte Oakley (Robert); four brothers Victor, Kenneth, Leon, and Robert Noble; and great granddaughter, Makenna Conger.

Dorothy Ruth (Noble) Conger (1931-2024)

&nbsp;&nbsp; Gweneth Nadine Vrbas, age 97, of McCook, passed away on April 19, 2024, at the Community Hospital of McCook. &nbsp;Nadine was born southwest of McCook on September 25, 1926.&nbsp; In 1948, Nadine wed Paul William Nothnagel. &nbsp;To this union two sons were born, William and Micheal. &nbsp;William preceded her in death. The couple made their home south of McCook raising their family. &nbsp;In 1972, Nadine married Stan Vrbas, and moved to Stratton. He preceded her in death in 2021.

&nbsp; &nbsp; She and Stan moved to McCook due to health problems in 2017. Nadine was a member of the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church of McCook. Nadine’s biggest pet peeve was long obituaries.

&nbsp; &nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, William and Stan; son, Micheal; and brother, Ken Peters.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Nadine is survived by her son, William Nothnagel and wife, Linda Thieben of McCook; daughter-in-law, Darlene Nothnagel of McCook; two step-grandchildren, Destiny Waterman of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Shanna (Jeff) Schulz of Osmond, Nebraska; one step-great-grandchild, Ben Walters; brothers, Phil Peters of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Wendell Peters of McCook.

 </figure>&nbsp;&nbsp; Gweneth Nadine Vrbas, age 97, of McCook, passed away on April 19, 2024, at the Community Hospital of McCook. &nbsp;Nadine was born southwest of McCook on September 25, 1926.&nbsp; In 1948, Nadine wed Paul William Nothnagel. &nbsp;To this union two sons were born, William and Micheal. &nbsp;William preceded her in death. The couple made their home south of McCook raising their family. &nbsp;In 1972, Nadine married Stan Vrbas, and moved to Stratton. He preceded her in death in 2021.&nbsp; &nbsp; She and Stan moved to McCook due to health problems in 2017. Nadine was a member of the St. Alban’s Episcopal Church of McCook. Nadine’s biggest pet peeve was long obituaries.&nbsp; &nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, William and Stan; son, Micheal; and brother, Ken Peters.&nbsp; &nbsp; Nadine is survived by her son, William Nothnagel and wife, Linda Thieben of McCook; daughter-in-law, Darlene Nothnagel of McCook; two step-grandchildren, Destiny Waterman of Ft. Judy Lynn Kramer, 71, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away peacefully the morning of April 24th, 2024 in North Platte, surrounded by her family. She was born February 22, 1953 to Kenneth and Bessie (Rodewald) Broeder in North Platte.

Judy was raised in North Platte, with her siblings; Richard Broeder (Karla Ducker), Gary (Crystal) Broeder, and Joni (Tom) Hoaglund. She attended school in North Platte, graduating with the class of 1971. In her youth, she enjoyed playing volleyball and barrel racing horses for 4-H. She was united in marriage to John Kramer on July 6, 1974 in North Platte. They were planning on celebrating their 50th anniversary this summer with a family trip to Alaska. They made Tryon and North Platte their homes through the years. Judy enjoyed family time, bowling, cooking, baking, sewing, canning, gardening, and was an avid plant enthusiast. She baked several birthday and wedding cakes for friends and loved ones. She and John did everything together as a family unit, including, but not limited to running a family home business of satellite dishes, and renovating an old country school-house into their family home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law, Eunice Kramer, and step-father, Bernard “Rusty” Walker.

Those left to cherish Judy’s memory are her husband, children, Kerissa (Jason) Steinshouer of Elkhorn, Nebraska and Brent (Kim) Kramer of Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren, Jaxson, Isaac, and Avery Steinshouer, Phoebe, Daphne, and Theodore Kramer; and many more family members and friends that love and will miss her. She was known as a friend, cousin, aunt, niece, daughter, and sister; but her most cherished titles were probably that of wife, mother, and grandmother.

Judy Lynn Kramer (1953-2024)

&nbsp; Pauline Rose Thornburg, 94, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at Gothenburg Health in Gothenburg, Nebraska.

She was born to John and Martha Grams on April 15, 1930, in rural Kearney County, Nebraska. She attended Axtell High School and graduated with the class of 1947. On June 7, 1947, Pauline was united in marriage to the love of her life, Sylvan Frank Thornburg in Minden, Nebraska. The couple lived in Colorado and Kansas before making their home in Lexington, Nebraska. Four sons were blessed to this union: Larry, Marvin, Randall, and Steven.&nbsp;

Pauline was known to be quite the poet. She could spend hours writing beautiful poetry and made sure to write something special for all of her grandchildren. Her work was published in the local church bulletins and the Fence Post Magazine.

&nbsp;Pauline was a devoted mother and housewife who always ensured her family was well cared for. Baking was her specialty, and she enjoyed trying new recipes for her family to try. The first home-cooked meal she made for her husband turned out to be an entire chocolate cake, and it was the best he had ever tried. Pauline was also known for her great listening skills. She made sure everyone knew they could come to her when they needed someone to listen. She was a pious woman who cared for her church and carried that love for many years.

Pauline Rose Thornburg (1930-2024)

&nbsp; &nbsp; Donnalea Sue Harrison, 59, passed away at the Community Hospital of McCook on April 21, 2024. She was born on October 27, 1964 in Oberlin, Kansas to Stephen and LaDonna Harrison. &nbsp;She attended grade school at Beaver Valley and Edison, graduating from Beaver Valley in 1983. &nbsp;Donnalea continued her education at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, graduating with a degree in Graphic Art in 1988. After graduation, she opened a print shop business in Oberlin. She later added a flower show to her business. She sponsored several music artists at the county fair.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; After her health would no longer allow her to work, you would see her going down the highway with her orange trailer selling Kettle corn at the fairs and city celebrations. She also ran a firecrackers stand every year. Donnalea was a crafter and went to many craft shows. She also liked sports and played volleyball and basketball as well as pitching for a women’s softball team. Collecting sports cards was another of her hobbies. She loved to draw.&nbsp;

&nbsp; Donnalea loved to spoil her three nephews: Aaron, Jimmy, and Stephen. &nbsp;She would take them on trips to Colorado, South Dakota to Mount Rushmore, the Black Hills, and to Silver Dollar City. She enjoyed their dogs, Hershey and Tank.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; She was preceded in by death by her grandparents, Cloyce and Bertha Springer and Stephen and Lela Harrison; her uncles, Marvin Springer, Loyal (Linda) Springer, Lyle Springer, and Ronald Harrison; an aunt, Faye Colby; and two cousins, Deb Tino and Shela Ritter.&nbsp;

Janette worked at district 8 helping with a Special need child. &nbsp;She enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing the organ and was the “queen” of garage sales. &nbsp;Janette enjoyed family time, traveling to Denver, Black Hills, and Branson. &nbsp;The kid’s friends would visit, and all called her mom. &nbsp;She was known for her favorite meal of fried chicken.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Elsie, a son, Daniel, sister, Barbara (Wayne) Baker and her in-laws, Floyd, and Flora Marks.

Janette is survived by her husband Willard, one son, Jon Marks of Culbertson, and two daughters, Sheila (Chris) Hull of Culbertson, and Melissa (Chris) Craig of Oberlin, KS, and one grandchild, Erin Marks.&nbsp;

Janette Lee Marks (1941-2024

Tammy Lynn Menghini, 60, of North Platte passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, with family at her side. She was born on August 3, 1963, to Donald and Dorothy Ostendorf in North Platte, NE.&nbsp;

In her earlier years, Tammy attended Maxwell Public Schools where she participated in various activities, including volleyball, basketball, track, and cheer. Upon graduation in 1981, she continued her education at Mid Plains Community College-North Platte earning an associate's degree while participating in volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading. From there, she transferred to Kearney State to finish her bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry and to play volleyball.&nbsp;

In the fall of 1989, Tammy met the love of her life, Treverr Menghini of Oshkosh, NE, &nbsp;at a coed volleyball tournament in Hastings, NE. After a few years, they were married on August 14, 1992, in Hot Springs, SD. This union was blessed with four beautiful daughters.&nbsp;

Tammy started her teaching and coaching career in North Platte. Once she and Treverr moved to Lincoln, she taught and coached at Norris and Malcolm High School before returning to North Platte High in 2007. She had a stride for continuous learning and adapting her craft to meet her students’ needs. Her classroom environment-including her exotic range of classroom pets, labs, field trips, and quirky teaching style will be remembered for many years to come.&nbsp;

When living in North Platte during her 20s, she participated in the Velvet Spurs, attesting to her undeniable love for activities such as the iconic NebraskaLand Days, rodeos, and her plentiful years of horseback riding.

She was a Mary Kay consultant for numerous years alongside many colleagues and friends, attending seminars, and working hard towards her personal goals, like attaining her Mary Kay car.

Tammy was an avid lover of all animals, karaoke, road trips, movies, camping, and supporting her children in various activities. She knew no stranger and was known for creating the fun no matter where she went. With her competitive nature, practical jokes, and spontaneous lifestyle, there was never a dull moment.

In her recent years, Tammy and her husband, Treverr, crossed off one of her bucket list wishes by venturing up to Sturgis to celebrate her 50th birthday. She is known for never shying away from jumping on the back of anyone’s Harley Davidson motorcycle for a ride.&nbsp;

Tammy is survived by her husband, Treverr Menghini of North Platte, NE; children: Michaella (Tyler) Arnold of Lincoln, NE, Allexis (Jace Williams) Menghini of Topeka, KS, Gabrielle (Zachary Folda) Menghini of Lincoln, NE, and Hillary Menghini of Lincoln, NE; 6 siblings: Donna Hildebrand of Colorado Springs, CO, Jan (Butch) Mehl, Crete, NE, Bonnie (Thomas) Rector of North Platte, NE, Pat (Phil) Miller of Cody, NE, Cindee (Tracy) Wright of Cabot, AR, and Mindee (Mike) Mohr of North Platte, NE, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Don and Dorothy Ostendorf, brother, Ron Ostendorf, and father-in-law, Louie Menghini.

 </figure>Tammy Lynn Menghini, 60, of North Platte passed away peacefully on April 22, 2024, with family at her side. She was born on August 3, 1963, to Donald and Dorothy Ostendorf in North Platte, NE.&nbsp;In her earlier years, Tammy attended Maxwell Public Schools where she participated in various activities, including volleyball, basketball, track, and cheer. Upon graduation in 1981, she continued her education at Mid Plains Community College-North Platte earning an associate's degree while participating in volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading. From there, she transferred to Kearney State to finish her bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry and to play volleyball.&nbsp;In the fall of 1989, Tammy met the love of her life, Treverr Menghini of Oshkosh, NE, &nbsp;at a coed volleyball tournament in Hastings, NE. After a few years, they were married on August 14, 1992, in Hot Springs, SD. This union was blessed with four beautiful daughters.&nbsp;Tammy started her teaching and coaching career in North Platte. Once she and Treverr moved to Lincoln, she taught and coached at Norris and Malcolm High School before returning to North Platte High in 2007. She had a stride for continuous learning and adapting her craft to meet her students’ needs. Her classroom environment-including her exotic range of classroom pets, labs, field trips, and quirky teaching style will be remembered for many years to come.&nbsp;When living in North Platte during her 20s, she participated in the Velvet Spurs, attesting to her undeniable love for activities such as the iconic NebraskaLand Days, rodeos, and her plentiful years of horseback riding.She was a Mary Kay consultant for numerous years alongside many colleagues and friends, attending seminars, and working hard towards her personal goals, like attaining her Mary Kay car.Tammy was an avid lover of all animals, karaoke, road trips, movies, camping, and supporting her children in various activities. She knew no stranger and was known for creating the fun no matter where she went. With her competitive nature, practical jokes, and spontaneous lifestyle, there was never a dull moment.In her recent years, Tammy and her husband, Treverr, crossed off one of her bucket list wishes by venturing up to Sturgis to celebrate her 50th birthday. Tammy Lynn Menghini (1963-2024)

Mary Jane Owens, 81, of North Platte, Nebraska, formerly of Hill City, South Dakota, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Great Plains Health Hospital.

Mary was born on September 30, 1942, in Portland, Oregon. She married Harold E. Owens on November 26, 1962 , together they celebrated 51 years of marriage. She and Harold lived in Hill City, SD together for the past 23 years until his passing on July 6, 2014. &nbsp;She remained there until just recently when she returned to North Platte, NE to be closer to her daughter and her family.

She loved being a wife and mother, a Gramie and Great Gramie. She especially loved Christmas and the times they all spent together as a family playing games. She loved her things, which included her deer collection, her Raggedy Ann collection and Precious Moments. She was very loved by all that knew her, from her flower arrangements to the paintings she shared or the sewing projects, or all the visits and phone calls and reading on her Kindle, to all the letters to her granddaughter and all her friends far and near.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Harold E. Owens, her parents, David and Helen Johnson, her brother Tom Johnson, her daughter Bonny Jane Owens, and nephew Michael Suedekum.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Tonya Long (Max) of Glade, KS; her sister, Sue Suedekum (Melvin) AZ; her granddaughter, Brenna Malmberg (Cole) of San Diego, CA; her grandson, Skye Long (Jesse) of Kinsley, KS, nieces Sheri (Tom) Romero, FL, Randee Johnson, WY and her great-grandchildren Agnes, Otis, Owen and Cameron.

Cheryl Lea (Hines) Hueftle, 80, a former resident of Eustis, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at CHI Health Immanuel in Omaha, Nebraska.&nbsp;

Cheryl was born May 29, 1943, in Gothenburg, Nebraska, to Arthur and Mildred (Pohl) Hines. She attended Gothenburg High School, graduating with the class of 1961. She attended Kearney State College and later worked in the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS), J. L. Brandeis and Sons, National Bank of Commerce and Farmer’s State Bank.&nbsp;

On September 14, 1966, she married the love of her life, Russell “Dean” Hueftle, in Reno, Nevada. They made their home in Eustis, Nebraska, and were happily married for 39 years, building a wonderful life and family together. Their union was blessed with two children, Stephanie and Kelly.&nbsp;

Cheryl’s greatest joy was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured time spent with family and sharing home-cooked meals and baked goods with both family and friends. She was known for her homemade rolls, bread, pretzels, cakes and amazing holiday meals. Cheryl was a member of the Eustis United Methodist Church and sang in the chancel choir.&nbsp;

In later years, Cheryl relocated to Matelyn Retirement Community in St. Paul where she knew everyone by name and enjoyed attending music performances, participating in field trips and attending hymn singing and church services.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Stephanie (Jason) Vogel and their children, Paetyn Vogel and Piper Vogel, of Norman, Okla.; and her son, Kelly (Shelly) Hueftle of St. Paul, Neb., and their children, Max Hueftle and Maddie Harrahill; Josh Harrahill, of New York City, N.Y.; Noah Harrahill, of Storrs Mansfield, Conn.; and Emilea (Kyle) Harshman, and their children, Ryleigh and Ellie, of Lincoln, Neb.; as well as many extended family and friends.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dean Hueftle; and daughter-in-law, Faith (Lee) Hueftle.

Joshua Kirby Wright (1977-2024)

Ivan G. Adle, former Cozad resident, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Decatur, Texas at the age of 96. Ivan was born June 14, 1927 at Cozad, Nebraska to Lloyd and Lena (Gayman) Adle. He graduated from Cozad High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army. Stationed in Korea during WWII, Ivan drove an ambulance, picking up wounded soldiers. He married Anna Norden on April 15, 1949 in Cozad, Nebraska. Their union was blessed with two children: Sandra and Carl. Ivan worked at various hay mills, was a welder at Zook’s Welding and eventually owned his own business. He enjoyed welding, playing pool, and was a member of the V.F.W. for many years. Following their retirement, Ivan and Anna traveled to Mission, Texas during the winter months for many years.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents and&nbsp; wife. Survivors include his children, Sandra Gladkoff of TX and Carl (Marcia) Adle of UT; 3 grandchildren; and several great and great great grandchildren.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.

Gail was born August 2, 1962 in Cooper, Texas to parents Luthern M and Evelyn F (Lovell) Lawson. She was one of five children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Eddie Goforth, Charlie Anderson and Donald Kilgore; one brother; and a sister.

Those left to celebrate her life include her sons, Johnny and Ronnie Goforth, both of Culbertson NE; sister, Sue (Gordy) Fails and Evelyn Land, all of Texas; and six grandchildren.

Freda Kilgore (1962-2024)

Elizabeth Lynn “Liz” Benson, aged 64, of North Platte, passed away at Great Plains Health on April 23, 2024. &nbsp;She was born on June 21, 1959, to Richard and Earsteen (Lawson) Sumpter in Osborn, KS. &nbsp;

Liz spent her childhood living in Kansas where she also attended school. &nbsp;In 1983, she met Thomas Benson through a mutual friend. &nbsp;The two were married in 1987 in North Platte, NE and had two sons: Terry and Steve. &nbsp;After receiving her nursing degree in the mid 80’s, Liz spent her career life working in the nursing field, most predominantly as a traveling nurse throughout the state of Nebraska and most recently at Premier Estates. &nbsp;

Being outdoors was where Liz was the most comfortable. &nbsp;She was an outdoorswoman to her core and spent most of her free time hunting, fishing, and camping. &nbsp;Liz shared a special bond with her animals: horses, cows, goats, cats, and dogs. &nbsp;She loved gardening, taking care of her flower beds and growing a plentiful garden of vegetables, the same vegetables that she would eventually can and preserve. &nbsp;Her green beans and bread and butter pickles were better than any you could purchase from a store. &nbsp;Liz adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always the fun grandma. &nbsp;Family was the center of her world; she loved holidays, especially Christmas, or any day her family was gathered together. &nbsp;Liz was strong and courageous and would do anything to help someone in need. &nbsp;

Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Tom Benson of North Platte; sons, Terry Einspahr of Paige, TX, and Steve (Anadine) Einspahr of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Orion, Caleb, Noah, Sarah, Emma; great grandchildren, Zeva, Arya, Soul; siblings, Charlotte, Carl, Richard, Lloyd, Jerry, Norleen, Melvin, and Allen; many nieces, nephews, and other family.

Preceding her in death are her parents; siblings, David, Diane, Norman, Carol, Edith, and Josephine.

Elizabeth Lynn Benson (1959-2024)

Eugene Alan Waterman, age 71, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home in Ogallala.&nbsp;

Eugene was born July 15, 1952, in Grant, NE to Kenneth and Esteline (Lovenburg) Waterman.&nbsp;

Eugene grew up in Southwest Nebraska and then moved to Fort Morgan, CO in 1969. After graduating from Fort Morgan High School in 1971, he married Dixcie Slade of Bird City, Kansas. Eugene and Dixcie continued living in Fort Morgan where they were blessed with three children; Shana, David, and Michelle.&nbsp;

Eugene moved back to Grant in 1997 where he worked for CO-OP’s in the area driving trucks. He later worked for Flemming Farms driving harvest trucks. In 2000 he met and married Jeannette Kohler.&nbsp;

After retirement, Eugene became an avid pool player achieving a plaque honoring 500 games played in his leagues. Eugene and his team also made it to the finals tournaments in Vegas two different times. Eugene was well known in the area as the “Melon Man” due to his hobby of driving across the plains to the Melon Capitol, bringing back juicy melons for all to enjoy.&nbsp;

Eugene is survived by Shana (Bryan) Martin of Weldona, CO; David (Carole) Waterman of Ogallala; Michelle Waterman (Clifford Joyce) of Jacksonville, FL; Sisters Donna Carey of Brule, Darlene Waterman of Grant, Dianna (Nick) McCleary of Venango, Brother Jim (Amy) Waterman of Windsor, CO; six grandchildren; two great-granddaughters, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette in 2020; his parents; one brother, Donald Waterman; and one brother-in-law, Dean Carey.&nbsp;

 </figure>Eugene Alan Waterman, age 71, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024, at his home in Ogallala.&nbsp;Eugene was born July 15, 1952, in Grant, NE to Kenneth and Esteline (Lovenburg) Waterman.&nbsp;Eugene grew up in Southwest Nebraska and then moved to Fort Morgan, CO in 1969. After graduating from Fort Morgan High School in 1971, he married Dixcie Slade of Bird City, Kansas. Eugene and Dixcie continued living in Fort Morgan where they were blessed with three children; Shana, David, and Michelle.&nbsp;Eugene moved back to Grant in 1997 where he worked for CO-OP’s in the area driving trucks. He later worked for Flemming Farms driving harvest trucks. In 2000 he met and married Jeannette Kohler.&nbsp;After retirement, Eugene became an avid pool player achieving a plaque honoring 500 games played in his leagues. Eugene and his team also made it to the finals tournaments in Vegas two different times. Eugene Waterman (1952-2024)

&nbsp; Sharron Joann Armstrong, 87, peacefully passed away on April 22, 2024, at Hilltop Estates, with the love of her life Ray at her side.

Sharron was born on February 19, 1937, in Arnold, NE to Isaac and Verna Fay (Seymour) Halouska.

Throughout her life, Sharron dedicated herself to caring for others during her time working at both the Gothenburg and Cozad Hospitals. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional life as she enjoyed creating lasting memories with her family and friends.

One of Sharron's greatest joys was spending quality time camping with her husband Ray and sharing her passion for quilting at the Methodist Church. Those who knew Sharron will always remember her kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for those around her.

Sharron's legacy lives on through her surviving family members: her devoted husband Ray, loving children Sharryl Armstrong and Mark Armstrong. She is also reunited in heaven with her son James Armstrong and her parents Isaac and Verna. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Blase Strauser Memorial Chapel, 620 10th St, Gothenburg, NE with the family present. Funeral Service honoring Sharron will take place on Monday, April 29, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, 1401 Lake Ave, Gothenburg, NE starting at 2:00 PM with Pastor Robert Litzenberger officiating. Burial will follow in Gothenburg Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Gothenburg Senior Center.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Sharron Armstrong (1937-2024)

Larry Hardy age 83 of Seneca, NE passed away on April 19, 2024, at The Maples at Centennial in North Platte, NE.

Larry Clinton Hardy was born December 26, 1940, in Alliance, NE to Clinton and Gentry (Burton) Hardy. Larry grew up in the Seneca area and attended grade school in Seneca, then attended high school at Thedford High School.

On February 5, 1962, Larry was united in marriage to Nina Ann Murphy in Julesburg, CO. After getting married the couple ranched in the Seneca area, then sold the ranch in the early 80’s. Larry drove truck for many years and had his trucking company Hardy Trucking and did carpentry work with his son Bo as Universal Contractors. The couple lived in various places, Merna, Brady, and Arnold, and in 1996 they returned to Seneca.

Larry’s greatest love was being a musician, he played the guitar and sang. He gave private lessons helping people get started in music. Larry played many benefits and County Fairs, even opening for Lori Morgan and Neil McCoy. Larry played with Roger McGooden in Larry's band Blue Ribbon Country.&nbsp;

Larry is survived by his wife Nina of Seneca, daughter Gennie (Ryan) Smith of Tryon, son Bo Hardy of Seneca, 11 grandchildren Tisha Jo, Tiffany, Eli, Aevyn, Elly, Gabby, Maddox, Amber, Ashley, Joshua, and James, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, son Larry Hardy in 2010, three brothers Burton, Robert, and John, and a grandson Trent Hardy.
