Severt Layne Blauvelt was born to Keith K. and Barbara (Drake) Blauvelt on January 5, 1942, the coldest day of the year, in Thedford, Nebraska.&nbsp; Severt went to meet his Heavenly Father April 13, 2023, at the age of 81 years.&nbsp;

In his younger years, he played sports, sang in a quartet, played the trombone, and rode a BMW motorcycle.&nbsp; He attended church regularly and never missed any youth activity whether it was ice skating, sleigh riding or prayer meetings.&nbsp; Severt also worked on road construction with his father and other family members.

When the draft was in effect, he was down the line to be drafted so he volunteered his service and took the place of a newlywed draftee.&nbsp; He joined the Marines alongside John Paul Morris.&nbsp; After a short stint in the Marines and some overseas deployment, he returned home to take a well-deserved leave time.&nbsp; During this leave, while still in California, he was in a terrible vehicle accident and was rushed to Oak Noll Naval Hospital where he spent 5 ½ months in a coma.&nbsp; He was then transferred to Grand Island VA Hospital where he spent several months before he was released to home care. Severt was only 19 years old at the time of this accident.&nbsp; Severt always had a positive mental attitude and was an inspiration to those around him.

Those left to mourn his passing are his sister, LaDean (Dale) McGonigle of Milford, NE and his brother, Marvin Blauvelt of Thedford, NE, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp; Preceding him in death is his father and mother, Keith and Barbara Blauvelt, sister-in-law Maxyne Blauvelt, nephews Randy Dean Blauvelt, Steven Petersen, and Nick Petersen.&nbsp;

Celebration of life services for Severt will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at 2:30p.m. at the Bethel Assembly of God Church in Thedford, Nebraska.&nbsp; Cremation was chosen.&nbsp; Inurnment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Thedford following the service.&nbsp; Memorials may be made to the family, Bethel Assembly of God or Hillcrest Cemetery in Thedford.

Susan C. Siemers, age 86, of North Platte, died April 15, 2023 at Linden Court, with her daughters at her bedside.&nbsp; She was born on January 29, 1937 in Peetz, CO to Alfons and Catherine (VonBon) Schumacher.

Susan graduated from Peetz High School in 1955.&nbsp; She then went to work for Northwestern Bell as a telephone operator.&nbsp; On September 24, 1960 she married Clayton “Gene” Siemers at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Sidney, NE.&nbsp; After starting their family, Susan stayed home to be a full-time mom, modeling to her children her amazing commitment and strength of character as a wife and mother.

Susan will be remembered for her love of caring for her beautiful flowers; enjoying shopping at Alco and ShopKo; and being a great cook, especially her Sunday dinners of fried chicken and potato salad.&nbsp; Her faith was very important to her, and she always took pride in maintaining her appearance.&nbsp; Susan’s grandchildren remember her as always being there for them, watching them and being part of their lives.&nbsp; She had a true servant’s heart, never wanting to be the center of attention, but always taking care of others.&nbsp; Her simplicity and contentment with life will always be remembered.&nbsp; Her name Susan means “full of grace,” which fits her perfectly.

Survivors include three daughters, Jennifer (Tom) Smith of North Platte, Jacque (Steve) Stadler of Minden, and Janette (Mick) Margritz of Hershey; grandchildren, Kolby (Morgan Pieper) Smith of North Platte, Karni (Hailey) Petit of Gladstone, OR, Landon (Taylor) Troyer of Ashland, Lacey (Andrew) Dalton of Lincoln, Dylan (Rachel) Siemers of North Platte, Alix Siemers of Kearney, Sam (Chelsie) Margritz of Hershey, Josh (Chelsey) Margritz of North Platte, and Isaac Margritz of North Platte; step-grandchildren, Neale (Garrett) Goldsberry of Lincoln, Sydney (Chase) Bolin of Kearney, and Cody (Nikki) Stadler of Casa Grande, AZ; great grandchildren, Bradleigh, Logan, Talan and Collins; and a sister, Dorothy Bruns of Lodgepole.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene on July 28, 2021; her son, Jim; son-in-law, Brad Troyer; and siblings, Rita, Maynard, Walter, Marian, Betty and Beatrice.&nbsp; Memorials may be directed to the Women’s Resource Center in North Platte, and online condolences and live stream of the service will be at&nbsp;<a href="http://www.adamsswanson.com/">www.adamsswanson.com</a>.

Susan C. Siemers (1937-2023)

Kenneth Allen Bellamy passed away on April 15, 2023 at his home, at the age of 89. He was born on July 12, 1933, in Farnam, Nebraska, to Ray and Hazel (Coker) Bellamy. He was the seventh of nine children. Kenneth was a star athlete in high school and participated in football, basketball, track, and baseball. He also played a significant role in his class as a news reporter, and he acted in junior and senior class plays.

In 1951, Kenneth graduated from Farnam High School and married his high school sweetheart, Doris Bosch, two years later at Eustis Methodist Church. After completing his service in the army the couple moved back to the farm north of Farnam. They had four children, Linda, Bruce, Greg, and Karen.

Kenneth and his brother Joe purchased the Beck Implement, a John Deere business in Elwood, Nebraska, in 1958. The Bellamy's took over operation on January 1, 1959, and farmed in the Farnam community as well. A few years later Joe sold his share of the business to his brother, Jack. &nbsp;In 1964, Kenneth and Jack bought a dealership in Curtis and operated it for five years. In November 1965 Kenneth and brother, Jack, bought the Longsine John Deere dealership in Arapahoe. In 1982, Bellamy Implement, Inc of Elwood and Hi-Line Implement of Eustis merged to become Bellamy Implement, Inc and was operated by Kenneth Bellamy, Jack Bellamy, and Ed Sunquist.

In addition to his work in the John Deere business, Kenneth had many interests and talents. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, reading Louis L’Amour books, gourmet Oriental cooking, and baking bread and pies. He also loved to take many children fishing, who otherwise would not have gotten to go. In 2003, Kenneth started a new venture and built “The Shed” at his farmstead, where he butchered and packaged meat for therapy, as it gave him exercise and relieved stress.

Kenneth and Doris loved overseas travel and visited many countries, including Brazil, France, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, and the Bahamas. In 2009, Kenneth celebrated 50 years in business for Bellamy’s John Deere shop in Elwood. He retired in 2012 after 53 years and seven months in the John Deere business.

Survivors include wife, Doris Bellamy of Farnam; two daughters, Linda Berens of Omaha and, Karen (Craig) Philips of Holdrege; two sons, Bruce (Georgine) Bellamy of Winterset, IA and &nbsp;Greg (Corky) Bellamy of Colby, KS; five granddaughters, Sara (Todd) Tones, Jessica Berens, Mindy (Matt) Darling, Amber (Justin) High, and Hayden Bellamy; three grandsons, Jeff (Stephanie) Bellamy, Brad Bellamy and Andrew (Nikki) Philips; 12 great-grandchildren &nbsp;Blake Bellamy, Carson Bellamy, Jace Bellamy, Cole Darling, Kate Darling, Logan Bellamy, Kaelyn Bellamy, Oliver High, Coen High, Hudson High,Will Tones and Bellamy Tones; two sisters-in-law, Marlys Bellamy and Lloydelle Bellamy; brother-in-law, Gene (Cora) Bosch.&nbsp;

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Hazel (Coker) Bellamy, father and mother-in-law Albert and Esther (Seifer) Bosch. Siblings, Maurice (Theresa) Bellamy, Horace (Ruth) Bellamy, Noble (Irene) Bellamy, Mable Bloise, Harriet (Ed) McCormack, Jack Bellamy, Joe Bellamy, infant Neil Bellamy.

His passion for life, many talents, and warm heart will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg, Nebraska; Thursday, April 20, 2023, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, with family present from 4:00 - 6:00 pm.

Services will be held at Farnam United Methodist Church, April 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Duncan Ibuuri and Pastor Greg Boller officiating. &nbsp;

Interment will we be held 11:00 am Friday, April 21, 2023 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.

Casey Allen Kerns, 34, of North Platte, NE passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family following a long illness.

He was born on September 28, 1988 in North Platte, NE the son of Allen Ray Kearns and Sandra Dee (Jeffres) Kerns.

Casey graduated from North Platte High School and worked for several years as a loader and operator with Western Engineering.&nbsp; He most recently worked as a clerk for Kwik-Stop.

Casey is survived by a son, Justin Kerns; sister, Amanda (Steven) Peterson; brothers, Dominic Kerns and Monte Jeffres; and 3 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, Allen; and by his maternal and paternal grandparents.

Cremation has been chosen and no services are planned at this time.

Cynthia Grace Gulbrandson passed away at her home in Gandy, NE, under hospice care on April 14, 2023, at the age of 75. 
Cynthia, the daughter of John and Della Gustaf, was born in Detroit, MI, on May 6, 1947.&nbsp; She grew up and attended school in Ann Arbor, MI, then moved to California and started working. Cynthia later moved to Colorado and met Hollis Gulbrandson. They married and made their home together in Brighton, CO.&nbsp; In 1999 they moved to Gandy and renewed their vows at the Gandy Church in 2000. 
Cynthia loved cooking, singing and hanging out with her grandkids.&nbsp; She was a kind hearted, sweet lady who will be greatly missed. 
She leaves behind her husband, Hollis; son, Andre (Wendy) Martinez of Fort Collins, CO; step daughter, Veronica (Jeremy) Neill of North Platte; her brother, John (Abby) Gustaf of Ann Arbor, MI; grandchildren, Sarah, Reane and Alora Martinez, Crystal and Tyler Neill, and Kristal Fales; a great-grandson; and other family. 
Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Diane Gustaf; and 
daughter, Angel Fales. 
Cremation was chosen and a family celebration will be at a later date.&nbsp;

Cynthia Grace Gulbrandson (1947-2023)

Marlin Jerome (Jerry) Reynolds, 79, of Seward, Nebraska, formerly of Milford and Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at Ridgewood Care Center in Seward, Nebraska.

He was born May 14th, 1943 in Milford, Seward County, Nebraska to Marlin Charles Reynolds and Marcia June Reynolds.&nbsp; Jerry grew up on the family farm south of Seward and graduated from Seward High School in 1962.&nbsp; He then graduated in 1963 with an accreditation in Building and Construction Technology from Southeast Community College of Milford a two year program that he completed in a year.&nbsp; Growing up, Jerry was a youth member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and the 4 H club in Seward.&nbsp; He also participated in high school football, and worked as a short order cook.&nbsp; Jerry made a career in construction for over 50 years and was awarded a Master Carpenter Certificate.&nbsp; Jerry was a member of the Fraternal order of Eagles, Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, and the Carpenters’ and Millwrights’ Union.

On December 27th 1964, Jerry was united in marriage to Marvene Louis Tedrow and resided in Lexington and then Kearney, NE.&nbsp; Jerry worked for Central Construction Co. working on the dorm towers in Kearney and Kearney regional airport terminal.&nbsp; From this union, two sons, Barry (1965) and Kiley (1971) were born. In 1971, the young Reynolds family branched out on their own and moved to Littleton, Colorado.&nbsp; Jerry and Marvene, while working their day jobs, would work together to build their own home during evenings and weekends.&nbsp; Jerry was working as lead framer and site super for Ray Glebe Construction working on Orchard road in Littleton, CO, where they purchased a lot and built there first home.&nbsp; In 1976, Jerry and Marvene built their second home on Lafayette Circle in Centennial, CO that became their residence for over 30 years.&nbsp; Jerry in 1981 became a Superintendent for AmeriBass Construction.&nbsp; He worked&nbsp; downtown Denver completing core buildouts in multiple new high rise buildings that were being erected as Denver was starting to grow.&nbsp; He transitioned into a Lead Superintendent for Tenant Finish Specialties building out office space in downtown Denver.&nbsp; He built office spaces for Halliburton, Frontier Airlines, General Dynamics, the EPA, and many many more companies over 20 years.&nbsp; Jerry enjoyed playing golf on the weekends as a member of Southglenn Country Club.&nbsp; At SCC a 9 hole par 3 course over 30 years and countless rounds with family and friends he had five hole-in-ones.&nbsp; He was an avid sports fan and a follower of the Denver Broncos, Husker football, Colorado Rockies, and professional men’s and women’s golf.&nbsp; The family would attend sports events, golf tournaments, and concerts on a regular basis.

In 2009, Jerry and Marvene retired to Seward, NE to be closer to their two granddaughters, Izabel and Grace.&nbsp; They project managed the construction of their third home designing the house from the ground up and spent most everyday on site during the build.&nbsp; They had the forethought to design the house to be accessible so they could reside as long as possible at Augusta Drive.&nbsp; Jerry took care of Marvene for years as her physical abilities decreased over time, showing his love and appreciation through his care for her and her needs on a daily basis.

Jerry is survived by his sons and their spouses, Barry and Cheri and Kiley and Melinda; his grandchildren Izabel, Grace, and step grandchild Jesse; his siblings Mark Reynolds; Amy and Jeff Richardson; John and Tami Reynolds; Beth and Mark Lewis; nieces, nephews, and friends.

Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by Marvene, his brother Rod Reynolds; sister-in-law Kris Reynolds.

To honor his last wish, the disposition of ashes for Marlin J. Reynolds shall be scattered together with wife Marvene Louis Reynolds.

A Celebration Of Life Service for Jerry and Marvene Reynolds will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Timm-Reynolds-Love Home in Callaway.

Marlin Jerome "Jerry" Reynolds (1943-2023)

Marvene Louise Reynolds, 76, of Seward, Nebraska, formerly of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Ridgewood Care Center.

She was born April 17th, 1946 in Lexington, Dawson County, Nebraska to Marvin L. and Martha L. (Biehl) Tedrow.&nbsp; Marvene grew up on the family farm east of Lexington.&nbsp; She graduated from Lexington High School in 1964 and started at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.&nbsp; Growing up, Marvene was a youth member of the First United Methodist Church in Lexington.&nbsp; She also participated in the 4H Club,&nbsp; the Pep Club, and worked as drug store soda clerk where she meet Marlin (Jerry) Reynolds. On December 27th 1964, Marvene was united in marriage to Marlin (Jerry) Reynolds and resided in Lexington and then Kearney, NE, where she worked as a soil testing lab secretary.&nbsp; From this union, two sons: Barry and Kiley, were born. &nbsp; Darrel F. Yost, 80, of Madrid, Nebraska, passed away on April 14, 2023, at Perkins County Hospital in Grant after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Darrel was born on September 19, 1942, in Moundridge, Kansas, to Floyd Aaron and Frieda (Becker) Yost. He was raised and educated at Spring Valley School in Kansas. On March 24, 1963, he married Helen Holderman in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. Their blessed union spanned six decades, and their marriage was blessed with seven children. Darrel and Helen resided in Newton, Kansas, for a time before moving to Idaho, Wisconsin, and finally settling in Madrid, Nebraska in September 1998. Throughout his life, Darrel worked diligently, first helping area farmers, then transitioning into agricultural trucking, and ultimately ending his career in farming. Darrel and Helen were charter members of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite Church in Paxton. Darrel was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Frieda; son-in-law, Harold Zimmerman; and a grandson, Brycen Yost. &nbsp; Wayne A. Burge, 84, of Grant, NE, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2023, at Imperial Manor in Imperial. Wayne was born on December 11, 1938, in rural Bladen, NE, to Glen and LaVene (Jones) Burge. Wayne graduated from Madrid High School with the Class of 1957. On October 10, 1964, Wayne married the love of his life, Nancy Nordhausen, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial. They first settled two miles south of Madrid, then moved northeast of Grant, where they farmed and raised their two children, Stephanie and Daniel. The couple moved into Grant in 1999. Throughout his life, Wayne was devoted to his family and farming, displaying wisdom, patience, and resilience. Wayne had a natural ability to connect with others; he made people feel included, welcome, and appreciated. Wayne had a gift for connecting with kids, and his genuine interest in others touched the lives of many. His passion for farming and the land were deeply ingrained in the man he was. Wayne was a man of quiet faith, with a sense of purpose rooted in a life spent caring for livestock, planting, cultivating, and irrigating while always observing the cycles of growth and harvest. Wayne's ability to problem solve, apply his understanding by doing, and his patience were built through the risk-taking that decades of farming required. He gracefully and without reservations entrusted the next generation to continue the legacy he built. Wayne endured the trials of life with a trust that the Lord was ever by his side. Wayne was a longtime member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Grant. Wayne A. Burge (1938-2023)

Rodney Joseph Karre, the third of 10 children, was born to Arno Rhodes and Mary Laurene (Kennedy) Karre, at the family home in Hayes County, Nebraska, on September 12, 1940. He peacefully passed away at his home in&nbsp;Westminster, Colorado on April 12, 2023, at the age of 82. Rodney was close to his siblings, they worked hard on the farm, attended church, and on Saturday nights they would gather with neighboring families to play cards. Rod was a lifetime learner, beginning his formal education in a one room schoolhouse and graduating from St. Patrick's Catholic High School in North Platte in 1958.&nbsp; He enjoyed participating in football, basketball, and track. In 1958 Rod enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served four years. During that time his love of travel began. On April 11, 1964, Rodney married the love of his life, Mary Ann Maline. They spent 59 years together and welcomed two daughters, Kim and Dani.&nbsp;&nbsp;The family made their home in Westminster, Colorado, but enjoyed traveling&nbsp;back to Nebraska to visit family and go water skiing, camping and&nbsp;boating at Lake McConaughy, and vacations and homemade ice cream. Rod worked at the Nebraska Games and Parks Commission prior to starting&nbsp;his career as a Tool and Dye Maker. He retired from Ball Aerospace&nbsp;Technologies as a prototype machinist, creating one-of-a-kind parts to&nbsp;correct lenses on the Hubble Space Telescope, among other items destined&nbsp;for space. Rod made lifelong friends at every stage of his life because of his accepting nature, desire to have fun, and laid-back approach. He enjoyed gospel music, movies, traveling, photography and keeping physically active. He began playing golf at age 50 and it quickly turned into his favorite sport. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ann Karre, and daughters, Kimberly (James) Siffring and Danielle (Paul) Steiner; grandchildren, Stuart (Samantha) Siffring, Geoffrey (Megan) Siffring, Vespera Steiner; and great-grandchildren, Reid, Oliver, Lila, Daphne and Matilda.  </figure>Rodney Joseph Karre, the third of 10 children, was born to Arno Rhodes and Mary Laurene (Kennedy) Karre, at the family home in Hayes County, Nebraska, on September 12, 1940. He peacefully passed away at his home in&nbsp;Westminster, Colorado on April 12, 2023, at the age of 82. Rodney was close to his siblings, they worked hard on the farm, attended church, and on Saturday nights they would gather with neighboring families to play cards. Rod was a lifetime learner, beginning his formal education in a one room schoolhouse and graduating from St. Patrick's Catholic High School in North Platte in 1958.&nbsp; He enjoyed participating in football, basketball, and track. In 1958 Rod enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served four years. During that time his love of travel began. On April 11, 1964, Rodney married the love of his life, Mary Ann Maline. They spent 59 years together and welcomed two daughters, Kim and Dani.&nbsp;&nbsp;The family made their home in Westminster, Colorado, but enjoyed traveling&nbsp;back to Nebraska to visit family and go water skiing, camping and&nbsp;boating at Lake McConaughy, and vacations and homemade ice cream. Rod worked at the Nebraska Games and Parks Commission prior to starting&nbsp;his career as a Tool and Dye Maker. He retired from Ball Aerospace&nbsp;Technologies as a prototype machinist, creating one-of-a-kind parts to&nbsp;correct lenses on the Hubble Space Telescope, among other items destined&nbsp;for space. Rod made lifelong friends at every stage of his life because of his accepting nature, desire to have fun, and laid-back approach. He enjoyed gospel music, movies, traveling, photography and keeping physically active. He began playing golf at age 50 and it quickly turned into his favorite sport. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ann Karre, and daughters, Kimberly (James) Siffring and Danielle (Paul) Steiner; grandchildren, Stuart (Samantha) Siffring, Geoffrey (Megan) Siffring, Vespera Steiner; and great-grandchildren, Reid, Oliver, Lila, Daphne and Matilda. Rodney Joseph Karre  (1940 - 2023)

Kathryn Berniece Kahoe Compton 1926 - 2023 Born 11 January 1926 at her Aunt Verna’s home in North Platte, Nebraska, Kathryn Kahoe was the only child of George William Kahoe and Rose Mildred Musser Kahoe. Kathryn taught in rural schools for three years after graduation from High School at the age of 16. Starting in the summer of 1943, Kathryn took classes at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln for three summers. On February 25, 1946, Kathryn married Billy Perry Compton and Kathryn graduated from Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, South Dakota in 1948 with a BS Degree in Education. After living briefly in Stillwater, OK; Emporia, KS; Quincy, KS and Texas City, TX; Billy and Kathryn moved to Wichita, where they both worked for Boeing. Kathryn’s volunteer work was extensive and included eight years on the Haysville Board of Education, 20 years in PTA, 20 years as a Volunteer Income Tax preparer for the IRS, 20 years as a Docent at the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum, and work as an Election Supervisory Judge in Sedgwick County. Kathryn was a Registered Parliamentarian and a member of the Sunflower Unit National Association of Parliamentarians. She was a 57-year member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, held many offices at the state and local level, and served as their National Vice President General for three years. She was also a 54-year member of the National Society Daughters of the American Colonists, where she also held many offices at the state and local level. She was a member of the American Association of University Women for 54 years and served as their local branch Treasurer for 10 years until her death. Kathryn was also a member of the Haysville Friends of the Library, Haysville Genealogy Group, Red Hats ‘N Kansas, and many other civic organizations. A life-long learner, Kathryn often attended Life Ventures classes at East Heights United Methodist Church, and Lifelong Learning Online classes through Wichita State University. She also loved to travel. She visited all 50 states, Europe, Canada, Mexico, and South Korea. Kathryn was preceded in death by her husband, and her parents. She is survived by her son, Carl, and his wife Suzie (Konkel) Compton of Derby, KS; grandchildren, Claire Compton and David Dawdy of Atlanta, GA; Dr. Caty Compton of Columbia, SC; Craig Compton of Wichita, KS; Colleen and her husband, David Thompson, of Alexandria, VA; Christian Compton of Manhattan, KS; and great-granddaughter, Clarke Kathryn Thompson. Kathryn B. Compton (1926-2023)

Margaret (Peggy) J Prey, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

Margaret (Peggy) Prey was born in Burwell, Nebraska, on May 24, 1940, to Mark and Helen Wagner. She grew up in Scotia, Nebraska, and attended Scotia High School. She attended a business college in Lincoln. After that she started working at the State Capital in Lincoln for the Revisor of Statutes. She retired from there after 42. She married Robert (Bob) Prey on September 11, 1965. They were married 53 years. Together they had two daughters, Christine Sommer and Jodi Keedy (Steven) of Valrico, Florida.

Peggy loved spending time with her family. She didn't care what they did, so long as they did it together. She also enjoyed going to musicals, watching Nebraska football and traveling. (She will be greatly missed.)

She is survived by her siblings Don (Darlene) Wagner of Kearney, Nebraska, Jan Wahle of Indianapolis, Indiana, Tom (Dar) Wagner of Twin Falls, Idaho, and Mary (Todd) Georgi of Crete, Nebraska; grand-children Courtney, Logan, Megan, and Paige Keedy of Valrico, Florida, along with Luke and Hailee Sommer of North Platte.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, her daughter Christine and her brother-in-law Bill Wahle.

A celebration of life will be held on June 1, 2023, at 10 am at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 South 14th Street, Lincoln, NE. A visitation will be held an hour prior at 9 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family is collecting donations to go toward Twin Creeks Memory Care.

Joan Denise (Toro) Davis was born in Andover, Massachusetts on October 12, 1957 to Joseph Anthony Toro and Lois Mae ‘Mott’ Toro.&nbsp; She died with the grace of the final sacraments of anointing and viaticum on April 14, 2023, in North Platte, Nebraska, surrounded by family and friends.

In her early years, the family lived in Plainfield, New Jersey, surrounded by the Toro and Mott families until 1968 when her father took an electrical engineering position with TRW Electronics in Ogallala, Nebraska. Joan was an avid reader and a delightful conversationalist whose wit and insights brought comfort, joy, and wisdom to many.

She earned an English teaching degree at the University of Lincoln in 1978 and later a Master’s Degree in Administration. She taught in Riverton, Wyoming on the Wind River Reservation and then began a long tenure at North Platte Public High School, serving in various capacities: an outstanding and loved English Teacher, Speech &amp; Debate Coach, K-12 District English Curriculum Coordinator and finishing her career as the co-lead teacher of the life changing alternative High School, TLC, The Learning Center, retiring in 2017. She was an excellent cook and baker, enjoyed traveling, murder mysteries, and attending musicals, especially ‘Les Miserables’ which was her first date with her ‘to be’ husband. “To love another person is to see the face of God’ - Jean Val Jean (Les Miserables). She relished time with family and friends and she was sought out for her kind and quiet conversations of substance or frivolity.

The family is so grateful for the special friends, family and catholic laity and clergy who prayed with them and supported them during her long decline from chronic illness. Her deep Faith in God along with the many kind and generous gestures of others helped sustain her over these last challenging years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; in-laws, George and Janie (Drost) Davis; several unborn children; her Godmother, Betty Dahl; her sister in-law, Laurie Toro; and her niece, Leslie Davis.

Jeffrey Blake “Jeff” Howell, 26, of North Platte, passed away April 13, 2023 as a result of an automobile accident.&nbsp; He was born June 27, 1996 to James and Valarie (Romero) Howell in Las Vegas, NV.

Jeff graduated from North Platte High School with the class of 2014.&nbsp; He worked at KFC with his brothers.&nbsp; He was a cook at Great Plains Health, Whiskey Creek, and Applebee’s and worked for Trego/Dugan Aviation.&nbsp; In 2020 he was working as a line service technician.

Jeff loved his music and making music.&nbsp; He was family oriented and was very loving to his nieces.&nbsp; Jeff always spoke his mind and has a great sense of humor.&nbsp; He was known for surprising people with gifts out of the blue.&nbsp; Jeff was an excellent cook and was good at everything he tried.&nbsp; He enjoyed watching UFC, collecting fancy things and colognes.&nbsp; Jeff was always well dressed and looking good.

Survivors include parents, James I. and Valarie (Romero) Howell of North Platte; brothers, James B. (Kristi) Howell of North Platte, Joshua (Alicia) Howell of North Platte; nieces, Alison Howell and Nora Howell; grandparents, James G. Shirley was born January 13th, 1927 in Madrid, NE to Albert and Laura (Hicks) Price. She was the youngest of five children. Shirley attended Madrid High School, however, she graduated from Raytown, MO.

Shirley was married to Henry (Hank) Brott, Jr. on September 2nd, 1947.&nbsp; They were married for 54 years.&nbsp; They resided on a farm north of Madrid, NE, moving then to Ogallala, NE and then to Linden Court in North Platte, NE.&nbsp; Shirley spent her time raising her 7 children, dancing with Hank, sewing, painting, clay crafts, baking and crocheting.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Children include Harlan and Cheri Brott and their five children; LaVon and Jerry Watson and their two children, Larry and Connie Brott and their three children; Karma and Jim (deceased) Trusty and their four children; Karen and Bill Nalley and their one child; and Wendell and Kathy Brott and their one child.&nbsp; In addition, Shirley has 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 7 great - great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 18th, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. mountain standard time at St. John's Lutheran Church (466 Road East G S, Ogallala, NE) with Reverend Albert Bader officiating.

Kip Larson (1952-2023)

Gordon J. Peeks, age 77,
of North Platte, Nebraska passed away in his home on Easter Monday. Raised on
the family farm in Chappell, NE, Gordon grew up tending livestock, crops and
eventually raising award-winning pigs for the Deuel County Fair.&nbsp; His summer
hay baling business put him through college at Kearney State College where he
played football, studied to become an Industrial Arts teacher, earned his
Bachelor’s and Master’s degree.&nbsp; In 1968 he married Barbara Kucera and
welcomed daughter Krista in 1970 while serving as dorm parents at Centennial
Towers East on campus.&nbsp;&nbsp;

He began his full
half-century of teaching in Elm Creek before moving to North Platte in 1972
where he briefly taught at Our Redeemer Lutheran School. He then settled in for
41 years at North Platte Senior High, where he taught various industrial arts
including electricity, drafting, industrial wiring, and math.&nbsp; Serving the
NSEA and leading SkillsUSA teams to national competitions brought him great joy
before finally retiring in 2014.&nbsp; After his “official” retirement, he
continued his work in the classroom as a lab assistant in the Electrical
Technology Program at Mid Plains Community College before segueing into
volunteering at multiple elementary schools in North Platte.&nbsp; His long
commitment to serving the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and School community
included service on multiple church boards, the school building committee, and
performing trustee and elder duties, ending with co-teaching a Grief Share
class once a week at the church.&nbsp;&nbsp;

A teacher to his core, his
family would often encounter former students while running errands and hear the
familiar, “Hello, Mr. Peeks!” and it was estimated that he had taught nearly
ten thousand students in his lifetime.&nbsp; The week before he passed, he
lamented about missing so much school this year due to his health.&nbsp; His
plan was to live to be 100.&nbsp; His generous spirit led him to give away many
bottles of homemade wine, hot sauce, bbq sauce, cucumbers and
tomatoes.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Gordon was predeceased by
his parents, Raymond and Florence Peeks.&nbsp; He is survived by his daughter,
Krista Peeks Dittman, grandsons Nelson Dittman and Jessica; and Andreas Dittman
all of Lincoln. His surviving siblings are Karren Carnes of Hastings, Lowell
Peeks and Jeri of Axtell; Bruce Peeks of Chappell; and Byron Peeks and Sherri
of York. &nbsp; His niece and nephew are Jason Carnes and Debbie of Seattle, WA
and Charla Peeks of Kearney.

In lieu of flowers,
memorials are suggested to the North Platte Public Schools Foundation, which
seeks to help students reach their fullest potential by providing resources and
opportunities for academic and personal growth.&nbsp; Gordon was instrumental
in securing funding for numerous initiatives, scholarships, classroom grants

&nbsp; &nbsp; John K. Miller, age, 76, of McCook, passed away at his home in McCook on Monday, April 10, 2023.&nbsp; He was born in McCook at St. Catherine’s Hospital on September 26, 1946, to Herman and Leonora (Dappen) Miller.

&nbsp; &nbsp; John attended Clearview County School through the eighth grade. He graduated from Hayes County High School in 1965.&nbsp;&nbsp; John was wed to Teresa Mae Jones on June 25, 1974.&nbsp; She preceded him in death on October 16, 1997.&nbsp; Over his lifetime, John worked various jobs in the McCook area, but worked the most years for Dayco/Parker Hannifin before he retired.

John K. Miller (1946-2023)

Donna Jean Simpson, 90, of Hyannis, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Great Plains Health in North Platte. Donna was born on March 19, 1933, in Vancouver, Washington, to Leonard Allen and Madelyn Jean (Swetz) Russell. She attended grade school in Vancouver and high school in Battle Ground, Washington. At the age of 16, Donna ventured to Alaska to visit her mother, where she met her future husband, Benjamin Simpson Sr., who was serving in the army at that time. The couple married in 1949 when Donna was just 17 years old. They initially made their home in Alaska for a couple of years before relocating to Mullen, Nebraska, where they helped Benjamin's father with his ranch. In the 1950s, the family settled in Hyannis, continuing their ranching life and raising their children. They made the move to town in the late 1980s. Donna was known for her incredible work ethic, always taking charge of funeral dinners, gardening, canning vegetables, raising flowers, and hosting elaborate branding dinners. An active member of the Whitman Extension Club, she was also a part of countless clubs and organizations in Grant County and the surrounding area. Donna was the commandant of the Jumble Shop that the church ran, a true blue Hyannis Longhorn, and a special part of the fabric of the community. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Madelyn Russell; stepmother, Ethel Russell; husband, Benny Simpson Sr; grandson, Trent Davis; and a sister-in-law, Alice (Glen) Gier. Survivors include her children, Benj (Jan) Simpson Jr of Whitman, Len (Rhonda) Simpson of Hyannis, Connie (Bruce) Yauney of Sutherland, Micki (Jeff) VanRenan of Percival, IA; grandchildren, Jason Simpson, Amy (Dustin) Evans, and Rebecca Watson, Kent (Amanda) Simpson, Amanda (Jason) Carr, Troy Davis, Sara Roberts, and Dusty VanRenan; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Calvin Russell of Battle Ground, WA; nieces, Beverly Uphoff and Bonnie (Mike) Strasburger; along with many other relatives and special friends in the community of Hyannis. Donna Simpson (1933-2023)

Gayle Lynn Beran, 62, of North Platte, NE passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at Great Plains Health Hospital.

Gayle was born on June 15, 1960 in Omaha, NE the daughter of Gary and Katherine (Teeters) Reed.

Gayle attended Norris High School and graduated from Hershey High School, class of 1978.&nbsp; She married David V. Beran on July 19, 1997 at Hershey United Methodist Church.&nbsp; She worked for over 20 years as a manager at Starting Gate Liquors in North Platte and worked for various bars throughout the area as a bartender.&nbsp; She was a past president of the Department of NE VFW Auxiliary and held multiple positions in the local VFW Auxiliary over the years.&nbsp; She enjoyed bowling, coaching girls’ softball, and was an avid Husker and Denver Bronco fan.&nbsp; Gayle loved planting flowers especially tiger lilies and yellow roses, was a country music fan, and enjoyed cooking for large crowds.&nbsp; She enjoyed spending time on her front porch watching cardinals, and her pets, especially her labs and Rottweiler mixes.&nbsp; Gayle was known for being stubborn and opinionated and would not back down in an argument.&nbsp; Most of all she was proud of all her children and their accomplishments.&nbsp; She was an adopted “Mom” to many of her children’s friends and was known by everyone as “Mom”.&nbsp; She will missed by all who knew and loved her. &nbsp;

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 25 years, David; sons, Trevor Stringham of North Platte, and Kyle (Shawna) Stringham of Broken Bow; daughter, Katrina (Wyatt) Naber of Hershey; grandchildren, Alexandria, Victoria, Izabella, and Logan Stringham, Kaylynn Wheeler, Kynzlee Perkins, and Cash Naber; brother, Kevin (Darcie) Reed of Hartwell; sister, Kim Reed of Minden; nephew, Nolan Reed; and niece, Arabella Reed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Ashley Perkins.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Evans officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Veterans Cemetery, near Maxwell.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17th&nbsp;at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Beran on July 19, 1997 at Hershey United Methodist Church.&nbsp; She worked for over 20 years as a manager at Starting Gate Liquors in North Platte and worked for various bars throughout the area as a bartender.&nbsp; She was a past president of the Department of NE VFW Auxiliary and held multiple positions in the local VFW Auxiliary over the years.&nbsp; She enjoyed bowling, coaching girls’ softball, and was an avid Husker and Denver Bronco fan.&nbsp; Gayle loved planting flowers especially tiger lilies and yellow roses, was a country music fan, and enjoyed cooking for large crowds.&nbsp; She enjoyed spending time on her front porch watching cardinals, and her pets, especially her labs and Rottweiler mixes.&nbsp; Gayle was known for being stubborn and opinionated and would not back down in an argument.&nbsp; Most of all she was proud of all her children and their accomplishments.&nbsp; She was an adopted “Mom” to many of her children’s friends and was known by everyone as “Mom”.&nbsp; She will missed by all who knew and loved her. &nbsp;Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 25 years, David; sons, Trevor Stringham of North Platte, and Kyle (Shawna) Stringham of Broken Bow; daughter, Katrina (Wyatt) Naber of Hershey; grandchildren, Alexandria, Victoria, Izabella, and Logan Stringham, Kaylynn Wheeler, Kynzlee Perkins, and Cash Naber; brother, Kevin (Darcie) Reed of Hartwell; sister, Kim Reed of Minden; nephew, Nolan Reed; and niece, Arabella Reed.She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Ashley Perkins.Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Evans officiating.&nbsp; Burial will follow at Fort McPherson National Veterans Cemetery, near Maxwell.&nbsp; Visitation will be from 1:00 – 7:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17th&nbsp;at Carpenter Memorial Chapel, which has been entrusted with the arrangements.Memorials may be made to the North Platte VFW Auxiliary.&nbsp;

Gayle Lynn Beran (1960-2023)

Anita Marie Smith Sisson, 88, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 in UC Health in Greeley, Colo. after a brief illness.

She was born May 27, 1934 to Berton &amp; Bernice (McElroy) Smith in Bartley, Neb. She attended school in Bartley and after graduation went to work at the bank, also in Bartley. She married Gareld E (Gary) Sisson on August 24, 1956 and they were married for 63 years at the time of his passing in 2020. They lived in Sterling, Colo., where their three sons were born. Anita worked at a bank in Sterling for several years until they moved to Greeley in 1962 when Gary was promoted to foreman with the Colorado Department of Transportation. Anita stayed home with the boys until they were out of school and then in 1986 went to work at the Greeley Medical Clinic filing insurance claims and doing collections. She later went to work for Dr. Peter Schmid, in Longmont, Colo., filing insurance claims and bookkeeping. Gary and Anita lived in the Greeley area before moving to Loveland in 1995, and moved back to Greeley and the surrounding area after Gary’s retirement.

They enjoyed riding motorcycles and took several trips with friends as well as traveling with her siblings and their spouses on several occasions. They also traveled to Arizona in the winter for several years. Anita attended Galilee Baptist Church while they lived in Loveland and Westside Baptist Church in Greeley.

She is survived by her sons, all of Greeley: Rick (Jeannie) Sisson, Dan (Jeanette) Sisson, Jim (Elizabeth) Sisson, two granddaughters, 1 step-grandson, five great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Roberta Felker of McCook, Neb. and her brother, Alan Smith of Fredericksburg, Tex. and their children. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law and their families; Betty Sisson of Greeley, Colo., Janet Sisson of Kirkville, Mo., Carolyn Ellsworth (Lew) and Norma Paxton, both of Sterling.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gareld (Gary) Sisson and her parents, brother-in-law Dorwin Felker and sister-in-law Irene Smith, brothers-in-law; Rodney Sisson, Kendall Sisson &amp; Arden Paxton.

A graveside service will be held at the Bartley Cemetery in Bartley, Neb. on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.

Anita Marie (Smith) Sisson (1934-2023)

Iris Kennedy, 84, of Sutherland, NE passed away unexpectedly on April 11, 2023. She was born to Gene and Mabel Rice on September 16, 1938, in Vernon, Colorado.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Growing up on the family farm in eastern Colorado, Iris quickly adopted her father’s love of horses. She was active in 4-H in the areas of home economics, and beef and horse projects.&nbsp;&nbsp;In 1953, Iris became Colorado’s delegate to the National 4-H Congress in Chicago, IL where she earned a full-ride scholarship to Colorado State University.&nbsp;&nbsp;She went on to study English and Journalism at CSU where she competed on both the CSU field hockey and synchronized swimming teams.&nbsp;&nbsp;As of the print date, Iris is the only Division I athlete in her family.&nbsp;

Iris started her career teaching in a one-room schoolhouse near Birdwood Creek.&nbsp;&nbsp;She quickly found that teaching elementary students was not her forte’ and took high school positions in both Sutherland and Hershey.&nbsp;&nbsp;Iris eventually moved to the Paxton Consolidated School District where she taught English, Speech, and Drama for 30 years before her retirement in 1999.&nbsp;&nbsp;The relationships forged there with students and fellow educators are something she treasured and Iris was forever proud to be a Tiger.&nbsp;

Iris met her future husband, Don, whom she married in Yuma, Colorado on April 1, 1962. Their daughters, Michelle and Kari Lee completed their family.&nbsp;&nbsp;The four of them spent many vacations traveling in their camper to sites all over the United States.&nbsp;&nbsp;They also spent a great amount of time camping and fishing at Lake McConaughy with family and friends.&nbsp;

Perhaps Iris’s favorite pastime was anything that her grandchildren were doing.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was blessed with Dan, Nick, Adam, Trent, Tanner, and Madison whom she and Don followed devotedly throughout their lives.&nbsp;&nbsp;They seemed to have a silent pact where they could do no wrong in Gma Iris’s eyes and to them, Grandma Iris hung the moon.&nbsp;&nbsp;She traveled all over the United States with her grandchildren and made memories that cannot be replaced.&nbsp;&nbsp;As our family grew with the addition of Lydia, Amanda, and Taylor she loved her new granddaughters-in-law just as fiercely and when Leo, Emmett, Knox, Holden &amp; Evelyn came along, being “Grandma Grape” became a title she revered.

Traveling was also one of Iris’s great loves.&nbsp;&nbsp;She visited Europe three times and had been to the Bahamas, Mexico, Canada, and the Dominican Republic as well as 49 of the 50 states, choosing not to go to Hawaii as she dreaded the flight. Her best traveling buddies, Arlis, Lois, and Margie put many, many miles on their cars during their adventures.&nbsp;&nbsp;Iris, the driver, Arlis, the navigator, Lois, the diarist and Margie, the cheerleader.&nbsp;&nbsp;These four shared rooms, food, a credit card, laughter, and love.&nbsp;&nbsp;Last September, Iris spent a week in New York City attending the US Tennis Open which was a lifelong dream.&nbsp;&nbsp;Attending with her with Michelle, Kari Lee, and her sons-in-law, Jim and Roger, who she loved wholeheartedly.&nbsp;&nbsp;Plans were underway to get her to Wimbledon next year.

Quilting and reading rounded out Iris’s life.&nbsp;&nbsp;She was a prolific quilter who could always be found either hunched over her Bernina or doing hand-stitching in her chair.&nbsp;&nbsp;Although she did not share her passion for quilting with her daughters, she did pass on her passion for reading.&nbsp;&nbsp;Iris, Michelle &amp; Kari Lee shared books and reviews continually.&nbsp;&nbsp;And the heated debate between her and her Grandson Adam over the merits of&nbsp;To Kill a Mockingbird&nbsp;would eventually force the rest of the family to shake their heads and walk away.

Iris was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Don, mother-in-law, Rosie, brother-in-law Warren, sister Ruth, brother, Donald, and nephew, Gary.&nbsp;&nbsp;She leaves behind her brother Joe (Deanna) Rice, daughters Michelle (Jim) Kalin, and Kari Lee (Roger) Miller, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.&nbsp;&nbsp;Iris also leaves behind her wonderful sisters-in-law, Gerry Kennedy, Virginia Wisdom, and Jeannie Kennedy with their husbands Lon Wisdom and Ross Dinwiddie along with numerous nieces and nephews.&nbsp;

Visitation with the family present will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel.&nbsp; Private services for the family will follow.&nbsp; Private burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in Sutherland.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sutherland Library or please donate or read a banned book in her honor.

Iris M. Kennedy (1938-2023)

Evelyn Irene Correll, 92, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away peacefully Friday, April 7, 2023, at Regional West Medical Center with her family by her side.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel. At her request, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation.

Evelyn was born on February 12, 1931, in rural Paxton, Nebraska, to Elmer and Eva (Gifford) McClain. She received her education in Arthur, Nebraska, and returned to Arthur to be a school teacher herself. She taught there long enough to teach Eddie (youngest brother) for his first year.

She was united in marriage to Clarence Correll on August 29, 1954. Evelyn had five children: sons Denny, Tim and Brent and daughters Rox and Delight.

Her family was everything to her and spending time with them was her pride and joy. At Grandma Evie’s the playroom was a favorite complete with hats and old dresses for the perfect tea party.

If she wasn’t in the house cooking or baking, she was in the rodeo arena giving advice or at the ball diamond cheering on kids and grandkids. She was always there to help get grandkids to where they needed to be.

She was one that never forgot a birthday or anniversary always reaching out with a special call.

Evelyn is survived by her children Denny (Joleen) Correll, Tim (Wendy) Correll, Brent (Dusty) Correll, Rox (Jack) Hinrichs and Delight (Brad) Harris; 27 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; two sisters Donna Daly and Loretta Valentine and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence in 2020 and two brothers Roy and Eddie McClain.

Donald John Weskamp, 87, of North Platte, passed away April 10, 2023 at home. He was born October 13, 1935 in a farmhouse near Danbury, NE, to Fred and Catherine (Vontz) Weskamp.

Donald graduated from McCook High School with the class of 1953. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1954 and served in Newfoundland and Spokane, WA. Donald was honorably discharged in 1957.

Donald married Judy Weiss on June 11, 1960 and they had three children: Brenda, Steve, and Mark. He started his postal career in 1960 at the McCook Post Office. He drove his own rural route in Maywood in 1970. They lived in Maywood from 1970-1975 and then moved to North Platte. Donald retired in 1998.

Donald was a little league coach in Maywood. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, was a horse racing enthusiast, and was passionate about Husker sports.

Survivors include daughter, Brenda Weskamp of Cave Creek, AZ; sons, Steve Weskamp of North Platte, Mark Weskamp of Cave Creek, AZ; sister, Mary Lou Harned of Tulsa, OK; brother, Ted Weskamp of Canon City, CO. He was preceded in death by wife, Judy; sisters, Irene Lebsack, Ilene Porth, and Florence Modrell; brothers, Delbert Weskamp, Jim Weskamp, Bernard Weskamp, Leo Weskamp, and Mike Weskamp.

Jerome Raymond “Jerry” Martinez, 50, of North Platte, Nebraska, passed away April 10, 2023, at Azria Health Care, Sutherland, Nebraska.&nbsp; He was born April 29, 1972, to Leon Martinez and Rachel Mata in North Platte.

Jerry attended North Platte Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1991.&nbsp; After graduation he worked various jobs around North Platte.&nbsp;&nbsp; He loved remote control cars and motorcycles and anything that went fast.&nbsp; Fishing was a favorite pass time for him.&nbsp; Jerry always looked forward to family gatherings and spending time with his family.&nbsp; He loved his nieces and nephew.&nbsp; Jerry will always be remembered as a man who was very respectful and he loved to socialize.&nbsp; Jerry loved his God.

He is survived by his parents, Leon Martinez and Rachel Mata; his sister, Jeanette; &nbsp;brother, Adrian (Christina); nieces, Brooke and Grace; nephew, Josiah; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends.

Cremation was chosen.&nbsp; Adams &amp; Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
