James "Jim" Armbruster, aged 73, of Wauneta, Nebraska, passed away on February 5, 2024, near Wallace, Nebraska, due to an auto accident.

Jim was born on March 19, 1950, in Ogallala, Nebraska, to Archie James and Loretta (Deen) Armbruster. His early years were spent on a farm southeast of Big Springs before moving to Grant in 1967. He was a proud graduate of Perkins County High School with the class of 1968.

Following high school, Jim honorably served his country in the U.S. Army, achieving the distinguished rank of an Army Ranger. His service took him to Vietnam and Korea. Following his discharge, Jim returned to his roots to farm south of Grant, where he and his first wife, Shirley Baker, made their home and welcomed two children, Craig and Jamie.

In 2005, Jim married Nikki Bang, a longtime friend, expanding his family to include a stepson, Doug Tillman.

Jim's life was characterized by his love for his country, his fondness for golf and fishing, and a notable affection for classic cars, particularly his '67 Chevelle.

Jim was fiercely loyal to family and friends and had a profound love for his grandkids, who brought immense joy to his life.

Jim was a longtime member of the Moose Club, Eagles, and VFW. Jim's passing leaves a void in the hearts of many who will remember him as a deeply loving man, a patriot, and a loyal friend.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Nikki of Wauneta; children, Jamie (Chris) Bartels of Council Bluffs IA, Craig Armbruster of Kearney; stepson, Doug (Pam) Tillman of Wood River; grandchildren, Noah, Nathan, and Clara; a sister, Teresa Schimmer of North Platte, and her children, Jacki Jones, Robin Foran, Josh (Chloe) Schimmer; along with many other relatives and friends.

Wilbur D. Koehn, longtime Perkins County resident, passed away on February 5, 2024, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.

Wilbur was born April 7, 1940, in Grant County, Kansas, to Edward and Katie Koehn. He was raised and educated in Kansas.

On April 30, 1961, Wilbur married Lovella Koehn, and their 62-year union was blessed with four children.

In the winter of 1974, the Koehn family moved from Sharon Springs, Kansas, to Perkins County, Nebraska, where Wilbur farmed.

He was known as a kind, caring man who lived his life with all his heart and strength.

Wilbur was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son; four brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife, Lovella of Grant; three children, Judy (Marlin) Unruh, Madrid, Nebraska; Rollyn (Val) Koehn, Russellville, Arkansas; and LynAlan (Susan) Koehn, Tonasket, Washington; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Wilbur Koehn (1940-2024)

Tracy Lillian (Pratt) Morehead, 61, of North Platte passed away at her home Feb. 3, 2024.

Tracy was born April 5, 1962, to William Ernest and Sandra Lillian (Jones) Pratt. After graduating from North Platte High School in 1980, she attended Chadron State College and was on the softball team.

On June 29, 1985, Tracy married her soul mate, Wayne E. Morehead, in North Platte. The couple lived in rural Hayes County where Tracy learned to love farm work alongside Wayne as they helped a number of farmers. Following his death in June 2003, she moved back to North Platte.

In her teens, Tracy was a member of the original Sixth Street Belles softball, which earned state titles from 1976-1980. She later volunteered for the Platte Valley Girls Softball Association. She also helped with the Special Olympics.&nbsp;

Tracy continued to be an avid sports fan throughout her life and enjoyed rooting for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She also considered herself a Wallace Wildcat and Chadron Cardinal as she cheered on great-nephews Kaden, Kolton, Sawyer, great-niece Kiera and their teammates. She enjoyed hunting and being outdoors with her dog, Galaxy, running the track on her four-wheeler.&nbsp;

Survivors include brothers Steven (Vikki) Pratt, Michael (Merideth) Pratt, all of North Platte and their children Joell Navarette Pratt, Dezrae and Brittany Herrick and Zack, Brianna, Brendan, Shane and Jordan Pratt; Brother-in-law Terry (Vonda) Morehead of Wallace; nieces Cricket (Justin) Haag and their children Sawyer and Kiera of Chadron; Robin (Gary) Hager and their children Kaden and Kolton of Wallace; Bambi (Mike) Eitel of Denver; uncle and aunt Richard and Teresa Pratt of North Platte; Clifford and Susan Pratt of Sterling, CO and Tom ‘Clay’ and Linda Pratt of Custer, SD and numerous other relatives and friends.

Besides Wayne, she was preceded in death by her parents Ernie and Sandy Pratt; brother, William Earnest, Jr.; mother-in-law Ruth Morehead; grandparents William and Ruby Pratt, and Lester and Lillian Jones.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be at Wallace Methodist Church on Feb. 14 at 2 p.m. Inurnment will follow at the Morning View Cemetery in Wallace. Pastor Shannon Williams will officiate.

Kenneth &nbsp;Sheffield, 75, of Gothenburg, Nebraska, died February 6, 2024 in Gothenburg, NE.

He was born April 29, 1948 in Gothenburg, NE, son of Verlo and Alice (Garrelts) Sheffield.&nbsp;

On October 12, 1968 he married his long time wife of 55 years, Donna (Wooldridge) Sheffield. To this union four children were born: Jesse, Jennifer, Travis and Ashley.&nbsp;

Kenny attended trade school for carpentry. Four years later, he was a master at his trade. As he built several homes, remodeled and any creative projects his wife and kids would request of him. Also discovered a high interest in building cremation urns. He also enjoyed trapping, was an avid collector, and in his early years raising coon hounds and coon hunting. &nbsp;He felt being a grandpa was his greatest accomplishment and loved spending time with his grandkids.&nbsp;

Survivors include: his wife Donna, daughter Jennifer Doxzon (Shane), son Travis Sheffield, daughter Ashley Garza (David). Grandchildren J.T., Josie, Chauncey, Taylor, Skylar and Alice. Sister Connie Jacob, aunt Linda (Bill) Hughes, uncle Glenn Garrelts. Family friend Greg Maurer. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Jesse Sheffield.&nbsp;

Dennis P. Stevens age 81 of Broken Bow died January 29, 2024, at the Arbor Care Center in Ord.

Dennis worked at various places through the years. &nbsp; He worked with the mentally ill in Kansas City, with troubled youth in Kearney, and went to Taiwan for a short time and taught English. &nbsp;In later years Dennis returned to Broken Bow to care for his aging mother. &nbsp;

Dennis enjoyed history. &nbsp;He read and was well-informed on the US Navy and all the battles during WWII. &nbsp;He could tell you about every ship and every plane that was on them. &nbsp;Dennis could discuss in depth the battles and where they took place. &nbsp;Politics was also of interest to Dennis. &nbsp;He was greatly concerned about the future of small farmers and the middle class of America. &nbsp; Dennis truly believed in equality for all. &nbsp;

Survivors include his brother Tom Stevens of Tucson, AZ, a sister Martha Stevens of Granite Falls, WA, and a sister-in-law Diana Stevens. &nbsp;

&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Margaret Rosalie (Schaad) Burton, age 99 passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024, at the Good Life Center in Callaway, Nebraska.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She was born September 26, 1924, at the family farm on Cliff Table ten miles west of Merna. She was the third of eight children born to Fred and Esther May (Runkey) Schaad. &nbsp;As a young girl Margaret placed her faith in Jesus through the influence of a godly mother and teaching she received at Cliff Union Church.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Margaret received her elementary education K-8th grade at Fairview, a one-room schoolhouse 1 ½ mile from the family farm. &nbsp; She attended Merna High School, graduating in 1942. She was married to Ira Sylvester Burton Jr.&nbsp; on August 28, 1944.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Ira of 51 years on December 27, 1995. &nbsp; She was also preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister Phyllis, brother Elwin Schaad, sister Lucille Minnick, brother Leroy Schaad, sister Flora Belle Schaad, brother Leland Schaad, and sister Alice Schaad.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She is survived by a son Dr. Lloyd Burton and wife Sandra of Colorado Springs, Colorado, daughter Carol Williams and husband Ross of Eddyville, Nebraska, son Clifton Burton and wife Anne of Ozark, Missouri, and daughter Beverly Jensen and husband Terry, of Broken Bow. Margaret Burton (1924-2024)

Larry David Fisher, 79, of North Platte, passed away February 5, 2024 at UNMC in Omaha. &nbsp;He was born on October 5, 1944 to Ora and Bessie (Webster) Fisher in Cambridge.

Larry graduated from Indianola High School with the class of 1962 and then attended Milford Vo-Tech for automotive technology. &nbsp;Larry married Charlotte Burton on December 27, 1964 in Bartley, and they lived in North Platte. &nbsp;They moved to McCook where Larry worked for Bob Cobb Chevy until 1974 and then moved back to North Platte. &nbsp;Larry hired on at Union Pacific Railroad in 1978 with Maintenance of Way and also taught at Mid Plains Community College in engine repair for many years.

Larry and Charlotte were tour guides across the country on many trips with Diamond Tours and Elite Tours. &nbsp;He loved his grandchildren very much and opened “Grandpa Day Care” where he cooked for the first time. &nbsp;Larry hunted and fished in his younger years. &nbsp;He was a very good mechanic, always helping friends and family with their vehicles. &nbsp;Larry was always helping family with any project they had going on. &nbsp;Larry was a member of Church of Christ and was very active in helping the church with many projects. &nbsp;He served 25 years in the Army Reserves.

Larry David Fisher (1944-2024)

Darrin Padgett, 63, of Ogallala, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.

Born on August 14, 1960, in Julesburg, Colorado, to Wilton and Vauni C. Padgett, Darrin was a proud graduate of Julesburg High School, class of 1978. He found his lifelong love in Tammy Jo Frickey. They wed on June 27, 1981, and together, they shared over 42 years of marriage. It was a journey of many adventures, trials, and triumphs. Their love of Jesus got them through it all.

Darrin dedicated 45 years of service to Tallgrass Energy Natural Gas Pipeline, where his hard work and industriousness were appreciated. He loved his job and did it well.

Darrin was incredibly handy, and could seemingly fix anything. He enjoyed home remodel projects and had a knack and joy for working on cars. He also had a love for cooking, reading, Legos, and learning. He was a shameless Trekkie. He liked watching football and was a faithful Broncos fan. Darrin was a collector of tools and gadgets. You could often find him shopping the clearance isles for the next great bargain. He enjoyed lake time and camping. He and Tam often found themselves ministering to many strangers in conversations, sharing the love of Christ, giving boat and jet ski rides.

Darrin was cherished for his cheerful spirit, always ready with a joke or a tease, yet his heart was ever inclined towards his faith and family. His enduring love and patience with his sons was unmatched. His grandchildren brought much joy and laughter to his life. He also loved all his pets, they were a joy and comfort to him.

He was a follower of Christ, blessed with a remarkable testimony of faith, a servant's heart, and a gift of mercy. His spiritual gifts shined through his mission trips to Poland, church youth group, organizing the church's men's breakfast, and serving in the Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered recovery program for many years.

Despite health challenges, Darrin's faith only strengthened, making him a mentor and spiritual father to many. His ability to model God's unconditional love and his eagerness to share his faith were hallmarks of his character. Even in the face of illness, Darrin encouraged others, touching many lives through his journey. His legacy is one of love, faith, and perseverance. Darrin has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those he encountered.

Darrin was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Vauni; a brother, Frederick; and father-in-law, Ronnie Frickey.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy of Ogallala; one son, Nathan Padgett; two spiritual sons, Dustin Owens and Bradley Coyne; foster sons, Ricky Beck, Timmy Copper, and Clarence Alspaugh; grandchildren, Korbyn Herrick, Braeylee Herrick, Nathan Padgett, and Bentley Luebbe; sister, Lynette Fowler; step-mother, Margaret Padgett; step-brothers, James J. Verna Louise Price, 78, of North Platte, passed away February 4, 2024 at home. &nbsp;She was born on January 25, 1946 to Lenard and Mabel (Miller) Johnston in North Platte.

Verna graduated from Hershey High School with the class of 1964. &nbsp;She married Gary N. Price on February 3, 1968 in Brady. &nbsp;Verna was a loving wife, sister (the oldest of eight children), and mother of four. &nbsp;She and her husband traveled to all 50 states selling screen print items and scrubbies. &nbsp;Verna was a cook and waitress at Dog &amp; Suds, Hershey Truck Stop, Parrs I-80, and Golden Corral. &nbsp;She also worked as a CNA at Sutherland Nursing Home and North Platte Care Center. &nbsp;

Survivors include husband, Gary Price of North Platte; daughter, Shauna (Jimmie “Eric” Crudup) Price McMorris of North Platte; son, Steven (Brenda Yott) Price of Sutherland; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Price of Geneva; sisters, Colleen (Don) Dubry of North Platte, Gaylene (Bob) Lueck of Lexington; brothers, Gary (Anna) Johnston of Texas, Stan (Donna) Johnston of Texas, Dennis (Melody) Johnston of Florida, Doug (Barb) Johnston of North Platte; 18 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren.

Verna Louise Price (1946-2024)

Marian F. Patterson, age&nbsp; 88, of Valentine, Nebraska, passed away, at Ogallala Community Hospital in Ogallala, Nebraska on Monday, February. 5, 2024.

Marian was born November 24, 1935, in Gothenburg, Nebraska to Hiddie and Edna (Feis) Kuhlman.&nbsp; She grew up on the family farm three miles outside of Gothenburg.

Marian attended school in Gothenburg and after graduation, she worked as a school secretary until 1956.&nbsp; She was united in marriage to Ronald H. Patterson, Jr. in Gothenburg on June 2, 1956. The couple moved to California so Ronald could finish his basic training as a United States Marine.&nbsp; In 1959 they moved to Benkelman, Nebraska where her husband taught business courses at the high school.&nbsp; In 1963 Ronald re-enlisted in the Marine Corps as a captain and the family of four moved to California.&nbsp; From 1963 until 1976, the family of four lived in Stafford, VA, Virginia Beach, VA, Hampton, VA and in Jacksonville, NC, and Camp LeJeune, NC.&nbsp; Also twice during that time, they lived in Gothenburg when Ronald was deployed overseas for a 1-year tour in 1964 and also in 1969.

As a major, Ronald retired from the military after 20 years of service in 1976 and they moved back to Gothenburg, Nebraska.&nbsp; Marian worked at the Gothenburg State Bank and the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce until she retired in 1999.&nbsp;

Marian loved to spend time with her family, paint, play bridge, and travel.&nbsp;Marian is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Kim) Channer of Arthur, Nebraska; son, Jeffrey Patterson of Valentine, Nebraska; grandchildren, Corey Patterson of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Kelsey (Walter) Carr of Whitman, Nebraska, and Kasey Channer of Kearney, Nebraska; great-grandson Cayston Patterson of Rock Springs, Wyoming.&nbsp;She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and son-in-law, Kim Channer.

&nbsp;Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 12, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at the Arthur Baptist Church with Rev. Blake Wilkes officiating.

Marian Patterson (1935-2024)

Mario Prado Reyes, 25, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024, in his home surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 1, 1998, in Lexington, Nebraska to Ramiro Prado-Ceja and Emilia Reyes de Prado. He attended public school in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 2017.

What truly set Mario apart was his outgoing personality and his willingness to embrace new experiences. He had an adventurous spirit and loved trying new types of food. Mario always took the opportunity to travel to Michoacan, Mexico with his family and enjoy some quality time. One of Mario's greatest joys came from spending time with his family. Whether it was gathering around a campfire during a camping trip or simply sharing precious moments at home with everyone. Mario's biggest supporter and best friend was his mom. She took great care of her son and always supported him in whatever he wanted to do. One of Mario's greatest joys was the day he became a father to Matteo. He held a special place in his heart for his son. Playing together and creating lasting memories were sources of great happiness for them both.&nbsp;

Mario was deeply committed to the church and his faith was unwavering. His devotion to God guided him through the darkest hours of his battle with cancer. Throughout the four years since his diagnosis, Mario displayed remarkable strength and resilience. He never gave up hope and fought bravely. He will be greatly missed.

Those left to honor his memory are his parents, Ramiro Prado Ceja and Emilia Reyes de Prado of Lexington; brothers, Arturo (Monica) Prado-Reyes of Lexington, David (Geylin) Prado-Reyes of Kearney, and Jesus Prado-Reyes of Lexington; his son, Matteo Prado of Lexington; niece, Millie Prado-Mendez; nephews, Zlatan Arturo Prado and Rey Prado-Mendez, as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 4-7 p.m. with a rosary to follow at 7 p.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lexington.

Burial will be held at St. Ann's Catholic Cemetery in Lexington.

He attended public school in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 2017.What truly set Mario apart was his outgoing personality and his willingness to embrace new experiences. He had an adventurous spirit and loved trying new types of food. Mario always took the opportunity to travel to Michoacan, Mexico with his family and enjoy some quality time. One of Mario's greatest joys came from spending time with his family. Whether it was gathering around a campfire during a camping trip or simply sharing precious moments at home with everyone. Mario's biggest supporter and best friend was his mom. She took great care of her son and always supported him in whatever he wanted to do. One of Mario's greatest joys was the day he became a father to Matteo. He held a special place in his heart for his son. Playing together and creating lasting memories were sources of great happiness for them both.&nbsp;Mario was deeply committed to the church and his faith was unwavering. His devotion to God guided him through the darkest hours of his battle with cancer. Throughout the four years since his diagnosis, Mario displayed remarkable strength and resilience. He never gave up hope and fought bravely. Mario Prado-Reyes (1998-2024)

Karen Lynn Paulson, age 77, formerly of Culbertson, NE, passed away February 5, 2024 in Plattsmouth, NE where she was residing at the Prestige Care Center.

Karen was born on December 21, 1946 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to parents Melvin and Carolyn (Straitt) Kronberg. Early life was spent moving about from Iowa to New Mexico, and Arkansas for work. They then moved to Omaha, Nebraska where Karen started a structured education.&nbsp; She graduated from Mercy High School in Omaha in 1964.

Karen met Donald Paulson in McCook, NE in 1966 and they were married on November 30,1968. They were married for 43 years until his passing in 2011.

Karen received her associate degree from McCook Community College in 1986.&nbsp; She ran a licensed Day Care in Culbertson in 1986-1987. Karen then worked for the next 5 years at Wendys and 18 years as a grill cook for Max’s Drive Inn, both in McCook. She retired at 66 years of age working part time for K &amp; B Liquor in Culbertson, NE.

Karen was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society.&nbsp; She was also a member of Sunny Hill Stitchers Club and Woman’s Club and participated in FROG and Yoga. She loved sewing, wreath making, and jewelry designing.&nbsp;

Karen is survived by her six children, Michelle Paulson of Longmont, CO; Lowell Paulson (Tamara) of Papillion, NE; Richard Paulson of Culbertson, NE; Alicia Sennett (Dean) of Kearney, NE and Donna Reeves (Patrick) of Columbus, NE; sister, Connie Parks (Marvin) of Killeen, TX; and sister in law, Joyce Kronberg of Fremont, NE. Ten grandchildren and five great grand daughters are also surviving. She will be missed by many.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Paulson; and a brother, Steven Kronberg.

LaVonne June (Aden) Banzhaf was born June 14, 1935 to Emil and Judith (Bratten) Aden at their home. LaVonne graduated from Gothenburg High School. After school she would walk to work at E and J Wash House in Gothenburg. After her dad's passing in 1954, she helped raise her siblings.

LaVonne married Arlo Banzhaf February 19, 1956 at Christ Lutheran Church north of Gothenburg. They settled into farm living north of the Cambridge Lake. LaVonne’s little brothers Dean and Dick spent the summers with Arlo and LaVonne so Judith could go to summer school at Kearney State for her teaching degree. LaVonne loved all her siblings but always had a soft spot for those two.

Church was an important part of her life. She became a member of the Orofino Methodist church then transferred to St. John Lutheran church in Eustis.

The farm life was always a challenge especially the weather and roads. LaVonne enjoyed watching her kids show their 4-H and FFA animals. She especially enjoyed sewing. Many hours were spent at her sewing machine, making clothes for herself and girls. Plus, all the crafts that she made and sold. She was always very excited to display her projects and to see and visit with her customers. LaVonne was also an excellent cook.

LaVonne was also a member of ESA Sorority and made many life time sisters. LaVonne had two four-legged friends by her the last 4 years that she loved.

LaVonne is survived by her children, Kelly (Tom) Tirrill of McCook, Justin (Cyndi) Banzhaf of Cambridge, and Britt Hill of Hayes Center; grandsons, Matthew Tirrill and Dusty (Bobbi) Tirrill; great grandson, Jase Tirrill; brother, Dean (Gaylene) Aden; step grandson Call (Jessie) Boland; step great grandchildren, Leandra and Dawson Boland.

Preceding LaVonne were her parents Emil and Judith (Bratten) Aden; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elbert and Irene Banzhaf; step father, Spence Decker; husband Arlo; son-in-law, Blaine Hill; sister, Lynnette Gunnerson; brothers, Ron and Richard (Dick) Aden; great grandson, Eli Tirrill; sister-in-law, Lily Fern Wickham.

Donna Jean Beck was born December 21, 1935, near Oconto, NE on the Devine Ranch to Carroll and Madge (Heitz) Hill. She was the youngest of three kids, two older brothers Donnie and Duane. Her dad worked for the Devine Ranch while her mother taught school.

In the early 1940’s they moved to Redfern Table where she attended school and later attended school in Oconto, where she graduated and met the love of her life, Duane Beck.

The couple was married on March 17, 1951, at Elwood. To this union, three children were born. She spent her life caring for and loving her family, always living on a farm where her greatest joy was, taking care of the livestock. She enjoyed gardening and quilting for family members.

Donna is survived by her husband Duane, daughter Patricia Pennington of Blue Springs, MO, son Cody Beck of Oconto, four grandchildren Pam (Chris), Christie (Chris), Travis (Jessica), and Chaunci (Ericia), seven great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and daughter-in-law Cheryn Beck.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, a son Gerald Beck, son-in-law Dean Pennington, and her two brothers.

Carolyn&nbsp;Grabenstein of North Platte passed away at Great Plains Health on February 5, 2024, at the age of 79.

Carolyn, the daughter of Cecil and Helen Wonch, was born at Arnold on September 8, 1944, and she grew up on the family farm, southeast of Arnold. &nbsp;When she was 12, the family moved to North Platte. &nbsp;Carolyn graduated from N.P.H.S. in 1962 then attended beauty school in North Platte. &nbsp;She worked as a hairdresser for over 20 years. &nbsp;

Carolyn was married to Gary Grabenstein and had three children. &nbsp;She was later married to Adam Schnieder. Carolyn loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James and LeRoy Wonch; sister, Eva Munnell; and her husband, Adam Schnieder.

Survivors include Carolyn's children, Mark Grabenstein (Ann-Alicia) of Colorado Springs, CO, Stacy of Arvada, CO, and Tricia Morris (Ricky) of Sutherland; grandchildren, Madison Perkins (Austin), Deidre Pepin (Austin), Haley Grabenstein, Maggie Yost (Dakota), Bethanie Grabenstein, Abbie Morris and Addison Grabenstein; great-granddaughters, Emersyn and Oaklynn Yost; her sister, Kathy Phillip (Albert) of Houston, TX; and other family.

Barbara Ann Shannon, age 76, of McCook, NE passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

Barbara was born January 5, 1948, in Denver, CO to parents Robert and Geraldine (Lock) Winn. She attended school in Denver, graduating from George Washington High School with the Class of 1966. On January 28, 1967, Barbara married Timothy D. Shannon at St. James Catholic Church in Denver. They were blessed with two children: Dennis and Michelle.

Barbara loved the outdoors which extended to joyful times with friends at the lake, spending time in the Colorado mountains, and enjoying the beautiful sunsets on Anna Maria Island, FL. Barbara had a profound love for animals, particularly horses, which she raised with passion. She was a member of the Scarlet Ribbon Drill Team, showcasing her skills in numerous parades and rodeos. Beyond the arena, Barbara was known for her creative talents, from quilting beautiful blankets for her loved ones, to engaging in various craft projects. Barbara had fond memories of her days in the women’s bowling league and playing co-ed softball with Tim and their friends. She enjoyed going to the horse races in Grand Island, and from years past, the dog races in Denver. She was an excellent cook and baker, leaving a legacy of wonderful dishes that will be fondly remembered by her friends and family.

Barbara cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and made it a priority to create lasting memories with them. Whether it was through family dinners, vacations, or simply spending time at home together, Barbara found joy in the simple pleasures of being surrounded by those she cared for most. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who was always putting the needs of her family before her own. Her selflessness and dedication were evident in everything that she did. Barbara's love for her family was unwavering and she was grateful for the blessings they brought into her life.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Delmar Frederick Bader, age 84, passed away February 1, 2024 at the Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood, Kansas. Delmar was born to Lorena (O’Donnell) and Fred W Bader on October 17, 1939 in Cheyenne County, Kansas. At a young age, Delmar’s father passed away in a gas truck accident. The family lived on the farm where aunts, uncles and cousins helped with his upbringing. The family relocated to Oregon after his mom remarried. Delmar and his family relocated in several different states finally settling in Nebraska where he met Stephanie Taylor. The two were united in marriage on September 8, 1962 in Julesburg, Colorado. To this union five children were born: Michael, Michelle, Delvin, Angela, and Kendel. The family lived in several different communities in the area before deciding to make Oberlin their home for the past 56 years. After serving in the Army, Delmar held a variety of jobs including photographer, salesman, mechanic, and auto body repairman at Kump Motor Company. A couple years later, he opened his own business, Del’s Body Shop in Oberlin.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; Delmar enjoyed a variety of activities and hobbies including photography, shooting black powder guns, and building and flying RC planes. He loved to see how things worked and tinkered with many projects with the memorable ones being a motorized bicycle, go-carts, a hydrogen run pickup and a hovercraft. In his later years, Delmar enjoyed keeping up with his family using his computer.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; Delmar was proceeded in death by his wife, Stephanie; his parents; sisters, Joan Baney and Marcia Morrow; infant son, Michael; son, Kendel; grandson, Corey and great-grandson, Rourke.&nbsp;

He is survived by daughters, Michelle McCarty and husband, Kevin, Bennington, Ks and Angela Fisher and husband Kendal, Oberlin, Ks; son Delvin and wife Shirley Bader, Codell, Ks; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Herrmann Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. Inurnment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery at a later date with a private family gathering.&nbsp; Friends may leave online condolences at herrmannfh.com.

Delmer F. Bader (1939-2024)

James "JR" Graff, 79, of Gothenburg, NE, and formerly of Lincoln, NE, passed away in North Platte, NE, January 30, 2024.

JR was married to the love of his life Kathy Graff for 61 years. JR worked for the BNSF railroad and was a member of the International Association of Machinist as a machinist, and in management as a Power Maintenance Controller, and Assistant General Foreman for 40 years and retired in Lincoln, NE. He was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 28 years and served as president of the Independent Center Alumni Association in Lincoln, NE and a member of the Triangle Campers.&nbsp;

JR was a member of Ebenezer Congregational Church and served as board president. He was currently a member of the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg, NE. He was a Blue Lodge Mason, 32nd Scottish Rite Mason, and Sesostris Shiner.

JR loved to go camping, especially with the Triangle Campers, go fishing, and golfing especially with family.

JR is survived by his wife Kathy, son Dr. Jim Graff, daughter-in-law Kim Graff all of Gothenburg, NE; son-in-law Terry McElroy of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren, Jamie and Sean Graff of Gothenburg, NE; Josh (Laura) McElroy of Sioux City, IA; and Hanna (Ian) Williams of Sioux Falls, SD; and six great-grandchildren, Jillian, Danny, Kate, Olivia, Theodore and Henry.

JR was proceeded in death by his parents, George and Ruth, sister, Georgene Graff, brother Larry Graff, daughter Kris McElroy and grandson Kevin McElroy.

Memorials may be given to the American Lutheran Church 1512 Avenue G, Gothenburg, NE 69138, Nebraska Alcoholics Anonymous, Great Plains Mental Health or the Gothenburg Volunteer &nbsp;Fire Department.

Michael&nbsp;Dennis&nbsp;Worth&nbsp;was&nbsp;born&nbsp;in&nbsp;Broken&nbsp;Bow&nbsp;on&nbsp;April&nbsp;25, 1971 to&nbsp; Dennis&nbsp;M.&nbsp;Worth&nbsp;and&nbsp;Carolyn E. Sullivan. He spent part of his childhood in&nbsp;Broken&nbsp;Bow&nbsp;and&nbsp;attended&nbsp;elementary&nbsp;school&nbsp;at&nbsp;North&nbsp;Park&nbsp;through the&nbsp;third&nbsp;grade.&nbsp;In&nbsp;1980,&nbsp;he&nbsp;moved&nbsp;with&nbsp;his&nbsp;family&nbsp;to&nbsp;a&nbsp;farm&nbsp;west&nbsp;of&nbsp; Arcadia&nbsp;when&nbsp;his&nbsp;mother&nbsp;married&nbsp;his&nbsp;step­father, Gerald Kerchal. He&nbsp; graduated&nbsp;from&nbsp;Arcadia&nbsp;High&nbsp;School&nbsp;in 1989.

Upon&nbsp;graduation,&nbsp;Mike&nbsp;joined the United States Air Force, completing his&nbsp;basic&nbsp;training&nbsp;at&nbsp;Lackland&nbsp;Air Force&nbsp;Base in San Antonio. He decided to make&nbsp;the Air&nbsp;Force&nbsp;his&nbsp;career&nbsp;and&nbsp;spent&nbsp;twenty&nbsp;years&nbsp;proudly serving&nbsp;his&nbsp;country.&nbsp;His&nbsp;Air&nbsp;Force&nbsp;career&nbsp;took&nbsp;him&nbsp;around&nbsp;the&nbsp;world&nbsp; many&nbsp;times.&nbsp;Some&nbsp;of&nbsp;his&nbsp;favorite&nbsp;stations and&nbsp;TDYs were&nbsp;in South Korea,&nbsp;Guam,&nbsp;Turkey,&nbsp;Alaska,&nbsp;and&nbsp;many places in Europe.
