Barry&nbsp;Bamesberger, age 64, of North Platte, Nebraska passed away at Great Plains Health on December 3, 2022. Barry was born to Bill and Rae Jeanne Bamesberger on July 14, 1958, in Germany, where his father was stationed. He graduated from Grand Island High School in 1976, then hired on with the Union Pacific Railroad. Barry was a conductor, then an engineer. He retired at the age of 62 to enjoy life and play more golf. Barry was married, had two children and later divorced. On September 24, 1993, Barry was united in marriage to Joy Ondrak at First United Methodist Church. The couple had a son, Shay, and made their home in North Platte. Barry was a handy man who could fix almost anything. He loved his dogs, Coco, Smoky and Shylo, and especially his family and children who were the center of his world. Barry will be remembered as a generous and kind person. He donated to various charities and helped the homeless.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Joy; children, Shay Bamesberger of North Platte and Bree ( Jeremy) Roschewski of Lincoln; his granddaughter, Lila; his mother, Rae Jeanne Bamesberger, and brother, Brett (Julie) Bamesberger of Grand Island; mother-in-law, Mary Rasmussen, brother-in-law, Tony Rasmussen, and sister-in-law, Shawn (Dennis) Monk, all of North Platte; as well numerous nieces, nephews and other family.

Barry was preceded in death by his father, Bill; brother, Drue Bamesberger; and stepson, Dillon Ondrak.

Amy Louise Gentry age 65, of Cambridge, passed away at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on August 4, 2023. She was born in Lincoln, NE on September 24, 1957, to Donald Lee and Helen Joan (Shivel) Bachman. Amy and the family moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Amy attended and graduated from Memorial High School in 1976. She then attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado and obtained her Masters in Nursing. Amy worked in Keenesburg and Fort Collins as a Nurse Practitioner.

Amy was married to Keith Abbott and to this union three children were born:&nbsp; Jessica Jeanne, Dana Jeanne, and Kellie Jeanne.

Amy was known for her quick wit. She loved to spend time in the mountains, biking, and hiking. Her talents included painting in all mediums, throwing pottery and rug weaving. She loved her dogs and box turtles. Amy was an enthusiastic gardener. She was known to be an advocate for her patients’ care and health.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Lee Bachman.

Amy is survived by her three daughters, Jessica Jeanne Abbott of Sophia, NC, Dana Jeanne Abbott of Sterling, CO, and Kellie Jeanne Rose of Jay, OK; seven grandchildren, Lucy Joan Abbott, Gavin Kelly Abbott, Harper Samuel Abbott, Ryder Eugene Abbott, Brooke Blinn Howes, Jacob Eugene Howes, and Madeline Faye Rose; mother, H. Amy Louise (Bachman) Gentry (1957-2023)

Jerry "Butch" Walter Lee Furley, 80, of Lewellen, Nebraska passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, at Ogallala Community Hospital in Ogallala, Nebraska.&nbsp;

Jerry was born April 6, 1943, in Norfolk, NE to James Roy and Beulah Marie (Angus) Furley.&nbsp; He graduated from Madison Senior HS in 1961 and continued his education at Norfolk Community College.&nbsp;

He was united in marriage to Beth Marie Leach in Madison NE, where they raised their ten children: Anita, Kelly, Julie, Jim, Jerri, Heather, Jodi, Jolyn, Jackie, and Jason.&nbsp;

Jerry worked as a cable installer with Western Electric/AT&amp;T/ Lucent Technologies and was eventually transferred to Thornton, Colorado, where he lived with his ex-wife, Beth, and their children. &nbsp;In late 2001 Jerry retired and moved to his home near Cedar View in Lewellen, Nebraska.

Jerry is survived by his children James (Karen) Furley, Jason (Stephanie) Furley, Anita (Jason) Teti, Kelly Kastrow, Julie Furley, Jerri (Jerrod) Chapman, Heather Davis, Jodi (Robert) Marini, Jolyn Furley-Markham, Jackie (Brian) Mann, his stepdaughter, Helen Kramer, 33 grandchildren, and 28 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Neldagene Furley.&nbsp;

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beulah Furley, his brothers, Richard, Earl, Paul, and Jim, his sisters, Betty and Lois, his partner, Sandy Kramer, and two grandchildren, Jonathon Furley and Isaiah Furley.&nbsp;

Jerry Furley (1943-2023)

&nbsp; &nbsp; Suzanne DeNio Harland was born in McCook, Nebraska on September 28, 1948 to Robert Scott and Polly (DeNio) Wilkinson. &nbsp;She attended school in Curtis, Nebraska, graduating from high school in 1966. &nbsp;Education was very important to Suzanne, she went on to receive her Masters of Finance from Kearney State College which she used working at the family owned and operated bank in Curtis, Curtis State Bank.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Suzanne was united in marriage to Victor Schwartz and even though they would later divorce, they remained close and made sure that their children knew they were loved. &nbsp;Suzanne later married Dan Harland and they enjoyed many years together before deciding they would prefer to dissolve their marriage and continue on as friends. &nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; Feeling a pull of the church, Suzanne returned to school and received certification as a Pastor in the United Church of Christ. &nbsp;She served the communities of Arborville, Aurora, Yutan, and most recently, Cambridge and Stockdale, Nebraska as a minister.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Suzanne married Richard Woolery in the church on October 9, 2022 and they made McCook their home. &nbsp;They enjoyed each other’s company tremendously and Richard was an expert at making Suzanne smile. Suzanne was active in PEO, McCook Arts Council, and the Prairie Association of Pastors and Leaders. &nbsp;She loved writing and reading poetry and was a masterful storyteller. &nbsp;Suzanne was a talented artist and used this skill with many endeavors: remodeling homes, crocheting, and sewing. &nbsp;She loved making Halloween costumes for her children and later, her grandchildren. &nbsp;She was a master in the kitchen whether she was cooking or baking and everyone in her family will miss her often requested butterhorn rolls. &nbsp;She loved being surrounded by her family and close friends and will forever be remembered for spreading kindness and love wherever she went.

Suzanne Harland (1948-2023)

Lorraine Clouse, 89, of Ogallala, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.&nbsp;

She was born December 6, 1933, in Cedar Ridge, CO, to Frank and Pearl (Moore) Jordan. Lorraine had made her home in Ogallala, NE. She graduated from Perkins County High School with the class of 1951.

On June 1, 1954, Lorraine married Norman Clouse at the Methodist Church in Grant. Their union was blessed with three children: Mike, Jamie, and Sheila.

Lorraine's dedication to her community was evident through her service as a past Chamber President and longtime involvement in the fabric of the downtown retail district. She loved to play golf and even managed&nbsp;the Oakley Country Club in Oakley, Kansas for a couple of years. Lorraine loved to entertain and host parties at their home, making sure everyone was well fed and had at least one “Toddy”. In more quiet moments, Lorraine enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge.

Lorraine was classy and always seemed to embody elegance and grace. She worked hard at all she did and was a wonderful companion to her husband, Norman.&nbsp;

Lorraine was preceded in death by her son, Mike; parents; sisters, Hester Lomme, Lois Lamb, Helen Real; brothers, Charles Gamble, Donald Jordan.

She is survived by her husband, Norman of Ogallala; children, Jamie Clouse of Ogallala; Sheila Clouse of Sterling, CO; grandchildren, Camille (Jason) Santomaso of Sterling, CO, Wes (Heather) Worley of Ogallala, Michaela (Rico) Rosales of Ogallala, Matthew (Shiyanne) Clouse of Denver, CO. 7 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Hunter, and Adyson Santomaso; Ariana, Lincoln, Vega Worley&nbsp;and Rhowann Rosales; siblings, George (Sadie) Jordan of Winnsboro, TX,&nbsp;and Vivian Roberts of Sacramento, CA; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.&nbsp;

Lorraine Clouse (1933-2023)

Scott&nbsp;(Potsy) L.&nbsp; Kramer age 74 of Arthur, Nebraska died Thursday, August 10, 2023, at his home in Arthur, Nebraska.

Scott was born November 23, 1948, to Jack Eldon Kramer and Twila Mae (Hiner) Kramer in Lewellen, NE. He attended District 33 school in Arthur County and went on to attend Arthur High School where he graduated in 1967.

After graduation, he returned to the family ranch where he ranched with his father, brother, and family. In 1977 Scott’s father passed away, then in 1979 he and his mother moved into Arthur. Scott continued to help his family on the ranch until his retirement in 1994.

Scott was very well known for his devotion to home games at Arthur High School and never missed a sports game, he became known and loved by the Highschoolers who referred to him as “Potsy”.

Scott was an avid member and co-founder of Arthur’s Lion Club; he was also a Volunteer Firefighter for the Arthur fire department where he dedicated much of his time while serving the community.

Scott was a member of the Arthur Baptist Church where he volunteered to help with all the activities including lending a hand in services and funerals, wherever Scott felt there was a need for service he was always dedicated and ready with a full heart.

He is preceded in death by both his parents and two Brothers, Norman Kramer and Terry Kramer.

He is survived by his brother, Chet (special friend Danelle Drews) of Lemoyne, Ne; Sister, Joy (Allen) Swanson of Arthur, Ne and Sister-in-law, Lexie (Bob) Cone of Ogallala, Ne; Aunt, Maxine Kramer of Arthur, Ne. He will also be missed by his many loved Nieces and Nephews and Great Nieces and Nephews.

A memorial Service will be held at Arthur Baptist Church in Arthur, Ne, on Wednesday, August 16th at 10:00 a.m. with Rev.&nbsp; Blake Wilkes officiating.

&nbsp;Inurnment will be in the Arthur Cemetery at a later date.&nbsp; A memorial has been established for the Arthur Baptist Church.

Scott Leon Kramer (1948-2023)

&nbsp;Pat DeWayne Redden, age 96, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Ridgewood Rehab and Care Center in Seward, NE.

Pat was born on August 8, 1927, the youngest of 14 children, to parents Austin Earl and Mary Elisabeth (Mosher) Redden near Champion, NE.

On January 1, 1952, Pat married Berniece Straub in Benkelman, NE, and 7 children were born to this union.&nbsp; Pat was a husband &amp; father, devoted to his faith, and to being a good provider to his family.

As a youngster at home, Pat found pleasure working with and training his animals. He would ride his trusty mule to school carrying his lunch bucket.&nbsp; Pat learned animal care skills from his Dad and contemplated training as a veterinarian. Although this didn’t happen, Pat always loved working with cattle and horses.

Rattlesnakes he didn’t like so much!&nbsp; He readily killed any he saw, and kept a shovel handy, especially when prairie dog hunting with his daughters and their families. Pat was skilled in water-witching and was called upon to help establish good well locations.

For a short while after his marriage, Pat drove a truck hauling cattle. After an accident with a loaded truck, he gave this up and worked as a rancher and farmer the rest of his life.&nbsp; Cattle ranching was always the closest to his heart. Berniece &amp; his girls enjoyed helping with chores, rounding up and driving cattle, and doing fieldwork.

Pat was not fond of the dark, and told of an incident with his Dad, because he had fibbed about having checked a nest for turkey eggs.&nbsp; He didn’t want to go out in the dark, so he went outside and stood awhile, then went back in and told his Dad there were no eggs.&nbsp; Grandpa Austin knew he hadn’t been gone long enough to check and told Dad to go again. After confessing his fear of the dark, his dad told him to take a flashlight.&nbsp; There was an egg in the nest, and Dad was sure he would be punished, but instead, his father told him this was a lesson, saying “You have to be honest with yourself, or you can’t be honest with anybody else.”&nbsp; He sought to live by this lesson throughout his life, and taught his girls this bit of wisdom from their grandfather.

Soon after his marriage to Berniece, March 1952 began a year of grief for them, beginning with the death of his brother Austin, who’d been the only one of his Company to return from the war. By year-end, Pat and Berniece also laid to rest their infant son. During this time, they continued to help his mother care for his father, who was bedfast after a stroke, passing in March of 1953. Pat told his daughters of praying earnestly, asking God what His purpose was for life. Not many months after this, his mother-in-law, Rosie told his mother, Mary, “Come and hear what these men are teaching from the Bible, and the hymns they sing.” In 1959, at the age of 31, Pat chose to embrace Christ in his life, and was committed to that choice up to his death. Through the years, hearing his daughters sing (often while traveling) gave him great joy.

Pat is survived by his daughters, Lois Miller (Tom) of Verdon, NE; Linda Bush (Gordon) of Riverton, NE; Lola Beyer (Del) of Sioux Center, IA; Lorene Lanus (Steve) of Algona, IA; Leota Schutte (Mike) of Seward, NE; and Laura Heisler (Ken) of Humboldt, KS; 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; infant son, DeWayne; six brothers: Henry, Austin Earl, Jim, Raymond, Herman, and Max; seven sisters, Gladus Bird, Annie Hogsett, Bessie Redden, Jesse Martin, Mattie North, and in infancy: Ollie May and Ida.

Pat DeWayne Redden (1927-2023)

Donald Eugene Lengel, age 91, of Hugo, Colorado, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023, with family by his side at the Lincoln Health Hospital in Hugo, Colorado.

On a cold and windy day, March 28, 1932, Daisy Lengel gave birth to Donald Eugene Lengel on his granddad Knapp’s Farm, seven miles north of McDonald, Kansas. &nbsp;Two weeks later, Don and his mother returned to Colorado, where his father, George, had stayed to farm on the south fork of the Republican River and Landsman Creek. &nbsp;Don worked on ranches and farms until the day after he graduated from Idalia High School when a game warden found him on his trapline and suggested he come to work for the Colorado Game and Fish, ushering him into a lifelong career.

Don worked for approximately ten months for the Colorado Game and Fish at Bonny Dam until the United States Army drafted him to serve his country. &nbsp;He did so proudly as a Military Policeman with the 142nd Company and 558 MPs at the 8th Army Headquarters in Yeongdeungpo, Chungcheong, Seoul, South Korea. &nbsp;The U.S. Army honorably discharged Don eighteen months later, on November 30, 1954.

When he returned from the army, Don went back to work for the State of Colorado at the Wray Fish Hatchery in Wray, Colorado, for about a year. &nbsp;During his time in Wray, he met the love of his life, Maxine Crist. &nbsp;They were married in Burlington, Colorado, in 1956 and recently celebrated 67 blissful years together.&nbsp; Three children were born from this union: Rosalie Sue, Joie Ann, and Russell Dean.

Don later transferred to the Fish Hatchery in Walden, Colorado, where daughters Sue and Joie were born. After about three years, the state decided to close the Walden Hatchery. Don was then promoted to Wildlife Conservation Officer and given a district at Walden, where he spent six years before moving to Hugo for the next nine years. From there, Don moved his family to Trinidad, where they lived for the next three years. Finally, Don returned to Hugo, retiring in 1988 after serving the State of Colorado for 33 ½ years.

Don had many hobbies: gunsmithing, carving gun stocks, silversmithing, taxidermy, collecting Indian pottery and artifacts, hunting, fishing, and trapping.

Don is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather, and in-laws.

Those left to celebrate Don’s life are his wife, Maxine Lengel of Hugo; children, Sue (Bob) Dutro of Karval, Joie (Fred) Poss of Hugo, and Russell (Corinne) Lengel of Limon; 7 grandchildren, Curt (Mindy) Dutro of Karval, Collin Dutro of Karval, Eric (Rhianna) Poss of Hugo, Scott (Emily) Poss of Hugo, Lynn (Brayden) Connour of Torrington, Wyoming, Hilary (Tyler) Neff of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and Madison Lengel of Castle Rock, Colorado; 8 great-grandchildren, Beau, Blake, and Della Dutro, Cy and Charli Poss, Jax and Jace Poss, and Brynn Connour, and a host of extended family members and lifelong friends.

Amy L. Corter, 50, of North Platte, passed away on August 10, 2023, at Azria Health, in Sutherland. &nbsp;She was born to William and Marilyn (Ehmen) Corter on October 13, 1972, in Beatrice, NE.

Amy was raised in the Harvard and Lexington area, graduating from Lexington High School in 1991. &nbsp;She married Jessie Gomez shortly after school on June 7, 1991, in Lexington. &nbsp;Amy had a daughter, Tena, in 1998. &nbsp;She worked at the Opportunity Center in Lexington for several years, taking care of the residents. &nbsp;She also worked in customer service at various different restaurants. &nbsp;After moving to North Platte, she went to work at the North Platte Opportunity Center.

She loved to karaoke and dance, she specifically loved country music. &nbsp;She was a collector of ceramic trinkets, especially angels and unicorns. &nbsp;Amy made sure to decorate for every season and holiday.

Survivors include her daughter, Tena Jefferson; grandchildren, Averie and Elijah Jefferson, Maverick Biere, and Paisley Scott; significant other, Tom Burger; other family and so many friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, William and Marilyn.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Bernadette Christine Luedke, 65, a wife, mother, grandmother, nurse assistant and entrepreneur, of Atwood, KS, died unexpectedly on August 9, 2023, at Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood, KS. Bernadette was born in Atwood, Kansas on September 21, 1957, to Eugene and Virjean Reeh.

She was baptized in her Catholic faith, had her first communion and confirmation all at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She graduated from Atwood High School in 1975. 

Through her life she worked as a nurse’s assistant at the Atwood Hospital, a manager at Atwood Good Samaritan, Assistant Manager at Walmart, a caregiver for several young children in Atwood, a guardian to several adults with disabilities, and ran B’s Boutique, a jewelry shop. Bernadette was a devoted wife to Dennis Luedke. They were married June 14, 1975, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood. She was excited with joy when Shane was born on December 13, 1979, then again when Sheena joined the family on July 6, 1988. She fought many battles with her health over the years. She was also a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Bernadette was strong in her Catholic faith. She worshiped at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in&nbsp;Atwood and enjoyed helping with mass and doing anything else she could to help the church. Most recently she also volunteered on the Junior Miss Committee and Buffs Stampede Carnival. She always enjoyed her yard and vegetable and flower gardens. She loved to travel and care for other people. Bernadette is survived by her husband; her children, Shane and Sheena Luedke (Lane Rietcheck); her grandchildren, Jayden Ashford and Kian Brogan; her sister Bea Suppes (Mike); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bernadette was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Norman and Bonna Lee Luedke; brother-in-law, James Luedke and several extended family members. Shirley J. Saner was born April 17, 1934, at the family ranch Northeast of Dunning, NE to Glenn and Laura (Daddow) Houder. She grew up on the ranch, graduating from Dunning High School as the Salutatorian of her class.

Shirley then married her childhood sweetheart, Donald Saner on November 11, 1951.&nbsp; The couple had five children together: Steve, Donna, Connie, Leslie, and RaeAnn. The couple was married for 67 years before Don’s passing May 22, 2019.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Don, parents Glenn and Laura Houder, brother Leland Houder, father, and mother-in-law Harley and Laura Saner, grandson Jason Saner, son-in-law Floyd Lehmann, brothers-in-law Jim Saner, Ben Saner, Dale Zimmerman, Tom Sierks, and Clarence Duryea, sisters-in-law Delila Zimmerman, Hazel Duryea, Lorraine Clouse, and Mary Saner.

Shirley is survived by three daughters Donna Bottom, Connie (Butch) Douglas, and RaeAnn Lehmann, two sons Steve (Clara) Saner, and Les (Connie) Saner, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, sisters-in-law Vivian Saner, Doris Sierks, Lois Houder, and Mary Saner, and several nieces and nephews.

Ursula Ulmer Gurwell, 81, of North Platte, passed away August 8, 2023 at Great Plains Health. &nbsp;She was born May 12, 1942 in Ulm, Germany to Otto and Gertrude (Deininger) Treffert.

Ursula traveled to the United States in 1963. &nbsp;She met Jess Gurwell in 1964 and they were married shortly after. &nbsp;To this union, one daughter was born, Tanya Rosemary. &nbsp;Ursula resided in Nebraska for almost 60 years with her husband Jess.

Ursula had a natural ability to make friends easily. &nbsp;She was a seamstress all her life. &nbsp;She could mend or make almost anything from scratch. &nbsp;Ursula did alterations for the public for many years. &nbsp;She took special pride in making clothes for her daughter Tanya and then for her granddaughter, Amber. &nbsp;Ursula loved her card-playing friends; every week they would plan one or two nights to get together to play cards. &nbsp;Her best friend Linda was always by her side. &nbsp;Ursula also enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and of course her specialty was German food. &nbsp;Ursula and Jess were members of the Moose Lodge for years and she would cook there for many. &nbsp;She was a special soul and such a strong person all her life.

Survivors include husband, Jess Gurwell of North Platte; daughter, Tanya (Mike) Barksdale of Muscle Shoals, AL; granddaughter, Amber Bockus of Atlanta, GA; newly found extended family members, David and Angela Gurwell-James and family, of Omaha.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Gertrude Karoline and Otto Treffert of Helbronn-Nekargartach, Germany.

Ursula Ulmer Gurwell (1942-2023)

Marilyn Gardner, 87, of Farnam, Nebraska, died August 8, 2023 at Hilltop Estates, in Gothenburg, NE. &nbsp;

Marilyn was born December 10, 1935 to Elvin and Pansy (Thomalla) Peirsol. She grew up in Farnam and helped with the family run business the Farnam Cafe (Peirsol Cafe) as a teenager. Marilyn graduated from Farnam High School in 1953 and went on to attend beauty school in Hastings.

On July 10, 1955, she was united in marriage to Elvin Dale Gardner. They moved south of Farnam where they farmed, had dairy cows and Marilyn had a beauty shop in their home. In 1960, they were blessed with a little girl, Launa Kay, who became their daughter. In 1961 a little boy Tracy Lee, also joined their family.&nbsp;

Marilyn was a member of the United Methodist Church, the Rebekah Lodge and the Sunshine Extension Club. In retirement, they worked in Yellowstone Park. Marilyn worked in the gift shop at Old Faithful Lodge. They enjoyed traveling the country and later spent winters in the south.

She is survived by a daughter Launa Hopkins (Bradley) of Almena Kansas; a son Tracy Gardner (Teresa) of Curtis; five grandchildren: Nathan Hopkins (Rochelle) and their son Zayden; Ryan Hopkins his son Owen; Amanda Wayne (Trey) their daughter Emerie; Miranda Johnson (and family); Jordan Gardner (Sierra) and their son Kolter. Brother-in-law Raymond Weathers; sister-in-law Dee Peirsol; several other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Pansy; her brother Keithen; sister-in-law Dorothy Peirsol, nephew Bobby Peirsol, father-in-law Clyde Gardner; mother-in-law Jennie Gardner and sister-in-law Eula Weathers.&nbsp;

Visitation with family present will be Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel.

Marilyn Gardner (1935-2023)

Carl Frederick Mundis, 79, passed away Aug. 7, 2023, at Great Plains Health Hospital, North Platte.  Mundis was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on Dec. 6, 1943, the eldest child of Frederick F. and Myrtle E. (Stoker) Mundis.  The family resided in Parsons, Kansas, where his siblings Barbara, William (Bill), and Patrick were born.  Mundis graduated from Parsons High School in 1961 and subsequently earned his B.A. and M.A. in history from Kansas State College at Pittsburg (Kansas), now Pittsburg State University.  He was married to Marilyn K. Lett on April 27, 1963. Two children were born to that marriage: Daryl A. (in 1963) and Marla K. (in 1965).  Mundis taught history and coached track at Labette County (Kansas) High School until moving to North Platte in 1969 to take up a teaching position at North Platte Junior College, later Mid-Plains Community College.  Over the course of the next three decades, he taught US history, Western Civilization, philosophy, and ethics at MPCC.  On March 9, 1984, he was married to Colleen Mulligan of North Platte, who survives him.  For many years, he played volleyball on the MPCC inter-city league team, but his greatest passion was rock music, and he enjoyed listening to and playing rock with his friends.  He enjoyed his dachshunds, cats and feeding the squirrels and birds in his backyard.  He was very proud of the accomplishments of his children and six grandchildren and treasured the time they had together, sharing stories, laughing and enjoying life.  He had also been a collector of Chevy Corvairs, at one time owning more than a half-dozen of those ill-fated rear-engined automobiles and vans.  Although he was quite handy in restoring and patching these cars up, the family struggled to think of many examples of long-distance trips without one break-down or another.  His children were also the proud recipients of twenty-five cent pool lessons, which their dad liberally dispensed at select North Platte locations which also dispensed adult beverages.  A devoted follower of both the Kansas City Royals and democracy, he remained hopeful about the fate of both until the end.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Barbara, and his brother Pat.  He is survived by his wife, Colleen, his brother Bill (Tammy), his son Daryl (Ruth Froelich) of Baldwin Place, NY, daughter Marla (Sam Miller) of Oakland, CA, his granddaughters, Natasha, Alexandra, and Jackie, of Boston, MA, and his grandsons Mark, Leo, and Eli of New York. Carl F. Mundis (1943-2023)

Patricia&nbsp;Stevens passed away at her home in North Platte on August 8, 2023, at the age of 79.

Patricia was born in Hennepin, MN, to Floyd and Doreen (Butler) Duffey on July 13, 1944, and grew up in Nebraska City. &nbsp;After graduating from Nebraska City High School, Patricia went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska. &nbsp;She worked as a lab tech in Omaha before moving to North Platte where she worked for Pathology Services until retiring.

Patricia was an active member of Episcopal Church of Our Savior and helped with many different church activities. &nbsp;She was also involved with Platter Painters and enjoyed gardening. &nbsp;In her younger days, Patricia liked to play tennis and softball. &nbsp;She will always be remembered for the love she had for her family.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Duffey.

Survivors include her sons, Adam (Stephanie) Stevens of Kimball and Kevin Scott of Phoenix; grandchildren, Piper, Logan, Macey and Parker Stevens and Katelynne, Deirdre and Cassidy Scott; as well as other family and her friends.

 </figure>Patricia&nbsp;Stevens passed away at her home in North Platte on August 8, 2023, at the age of 79.Patricia was born in Hennepin, MN, to Floyd and Doreen (Butler) Duffey on July 13, 1944, and grew up in Nebraska City. &nbsp;After graduating from Nebraska City High School, Patricia went on to graduate from the University of Nebraska. &nbsp;She worked as a lab tech in Omaha before moving to North Platte where she worked for Pathology Services until retiring.Patricia was an active member of Episcopal Church of Our Savior and helped with many different church activities. &nbsp;She was also involved with Platter Painters and enjoyed gardening. &nbsp;In her younger days, Patricia liked to play tennis and softball. &nbsp;She will always be remembered for the love she had for her family.Patricia was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Duffey.Survivors include her sons, Adam (Stephanie) Stevens of Kimball and Kevin Scott of Phoenix; grandchildren, Piper, Logan, Macey and Parker Stevens and Katelynne, Deirdre and Cassidy Scott; as well as other family and her friends.In keeping with her wishes, cremation was chosen and there will be no services. &nbsp;Condolences may be shared at odeanchapel.com. &nbsp;Odean Colonial Chapel at C &amp; Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley Ann Craig was born on November 8, 1947, at Fullerton, NE to Robert Ronald Craig, SR, and Mary Arletta (Davis) Craig. &nbsp;Shirley attended school at Grand Island and later graduated from Broken Bow High School. &nbsp;After high school Shirley worked at the Becton Dickinson Factory for over 20 years. &nbsp;She held various jobs through the later years. &nbsp;Shirley made her home in Oconto until her health started to fail and she needed more care. &nbsp;

Shirley enjoyed playing games on the computer, doing cross stitching on the computer, and watching scary movies. &nbsp;

She is survived by her daughters Jennifer (Dan) Speer of Broken Bow, Shanna Zacarias of Columbus, NE, her son Christopher (Melissa) Craig of Oberlin, KS; eleven grandchildren, Kyle, Zach, Jamie, Nick, Ashley, Shayla, Dylan, Hudson, Scotty, Jonathan, Haylie, five great grandchildren, Quintin, Declynn, Delilah, Alayna, and Bowan. &nbsp;She is also survived by her sisters Rita (Kim) Frith of Godley, TX, Nancy Craig of Hastings, and a brother Robert Ronald Craig, JR, of Ansley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Shane Craig, brother Chuck Craig, sister Neola McAlevy, and her grandmother Nellie LaFlamme.

Clayton Hueftle waited quietly &amp; patiently before God because his hope was in the LORD. On Saturday August 5, 2023 at the age of 88, he entered the presence of his Savior Jesus Christ. He made the decision to make Jesus the Lord of his life at the Free Methodist Church in Ansley, Nebraska while still in high school.&nbsp;

As a child, Clayton spent much of his time caring for his mother, Minnie, until her death when he was 14. He continued to be a care provider for two of his aunts, Mary &amp; Frieda until their deaths.

Clayton always enjoyed being a part of gatherings &amp; celebrations with his brother &amp; nephew’s families. He had many hired men over the years that he maintained longtime friendships with. In addition, Clayton had a special friendship with Sharon Koch for many years. They spent a lot of time together and talked daily on the phone until he became ill.

Cattle were a big part of Clayton’s life. He was well known for keeping a consistent eye on his cattle, frequently driving around to check on them in the pastures. In addition to ranching and farming, Clayton loved to travel the world. He made trips to Israel, Egypt and parts of Africa. He also enjoyed attending Christian camp meetings and conferences all over the United States up until he was no longer able to travel.

Clayton was preceded in death by in his parents, brother Warren Hueftle, sister-in-law Jean Hueftle, sister Bernadine Kring, brother-in-law Jim Kring &amp; niece, Barb Kring.

Clayton is survived by nieces, LaVon (Solomon) Adams, Joyce (Mark) Howsden, Darlene (Roger) Howsden, Carol (David) Karlberg &amp; nephew Vernon (Janet) Hueftle and many great nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Services will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Soloman Adams officiating. Burial will be private. There will be no visitation. Berryman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Frances Joan Jobman, 91, of Gothenburg, NE, died August 7, 2023 at StoneHearth Estates, Gothenburg, NE.

She was born August 14, 1931, North of Cozad, NE, daughter of Ralph John and Hilda (Blankman) Block.&nbsp;

She was a member of the American Lutheran Church.

Frances married Lester Jobman on December 16, 1951 at Christ Lutheran Church at Gothenburg. To this union three children were born: Terry, Heidi, and Matthew.

She was a life-long resident of Gothenburg. Frances loved to square dance anywhere and played bridge at least twice a week. She was the church secretary and played the organ for the church. &nbsp;She attended every sporting and club event that her children and grandchildren were involved in and loved to travel with Lester.

Survivors include son, Terry Jobman (Nancy) of Gothenburg; daughter, Heidi Jobman of Chappell; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Jobman (Gary Nelson) of Gothenburg; three grandsons, Chris Morris and wife Angie Hopkins of Kansas City, KS, Andy (Becky) Jobman, David (Jana) Jobman all of Gothenburg; two granddaughters, Erica Jobman and Chris Harbeson of Sidney, Erin Jobman and husband Ben Suchsland of Blue Hill; two great-grandsons, Adam and Jackson Jobman.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lester Jobman, son Matthew Jobman, son-in-law Roger Morris, and granddaughter Susan Elizabeth Jobman.

Memorial Services will be held at American Lutheran Church, August 12, 2023 at 1:30 pm with Pastor Doug Hjelmstad Officiating.

Inurnment will take place in the American Lutheran Cemetery.

Eileen Louise Buckbee was born on July 16, 1938, at Great Bend, KS to Joseph and Johanna (Penka) Boor. &nbsp;She attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Ellinwood, KS and then graduated from Ellinwood, KS High School in 1957. &nbsp;After high school Eileen worked as a bookkeeper for Ward-Pivonka Motor Company until 1972. &nbsp;

In April of 1970, Darryl Buckbee met Eileen Boor through his relatives from Kansas; at Christmas they were engaged. On November 18, 1972, Darryl and Eileen were married in Ellinwood, KS. A son, Darren, was born to them in September of 1973.&nbsp;

Eileen and family lived on the Buckbee farm in the Somerford Community. &nbsp;They worked together raising crops and livestock. Eileen brought her bookkeeping strengths to the farm with each dollar and expense diligently recorded.

When Darryl died on December 10, 2015, Eileen continued to help with daily chores and maintaining financial ledgers for her son. &nbsp;

Eileen enjoyed crafts and cooking, especially during Christmas. It became a family tradition to help in the creation of various candies and cookies which were then shared with relatives and friends. Visitors would not leave empty handed; boxes of sweets were eagerly gifted.

Eileen loved to decorate for the Christmas Season. Handmade ornaments, pillows, and figures would adorn each room of her house. A collection of Santa Claus figurines as well as a Nativity stayed out year-round.&nbsp;

Eileen loved to visit with her family, share with her friends and look to help those in need. Kindness, sharing, and compassion defined her. She saw neighbors as family.

Eileen would laugh freely, love unconditionally, and insist on a positive approach to life no matter what difficulties arose.

If a life could be expressed in a bible verse, Eileen’s would be “faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

Eileen is survived by her son Darren of Sargent, sisters; Mary Lou Button, Carol Shara, and Betty Janatello. &nbsp;She is survived by one brother Leon Boor.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Darryl, a sister Shirley Ann Krier and her in-laws Clarence and Hattie Buckbee.&nbsp;
