Dillon Anthony Conroy, our beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend left this world unexpectedly on June 21, 2024, in Cheyenne, Wyoming at the age of 27.

Dillon was born to Anthony (Tony) Paul Conroy and Becky Elaine (Scott) Conroy on January 31, 1997, in Cambridge Nebraska. Dillon was raised in Scottsbluff where he graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 2015. While in Scottsbluff, Dillon worked at The Village an elder care facility where he was well loved by the residence and staff. After graduation, Dillon moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, working at Menards. Dillon attended tech school and earned his certification in data entry which took him to Columbus, Ohio to work at Raise. Most recently, Dillon returned to Cheyenne and was working for Cowboy Jones Carpet Cleaning.&nbsp;

Dillon loved video game streaming, hiking, golfing, playing guitar, photography, and spending time with his girlfriend Kaitlynn Hessler. Dillon was described by friends as a true free spirit. “The guy would go out of his way to help anyone in need, with anything, no matter the time of day or distance.”

&nbsp;Dillon is preceded in death by his father, Tony Conroy, and grandparents, Tom and Bertilla Conroy.&nbsp;

Dillon is survived by his mother, Becky Conroy of Apache Junction, Arizona; girlfriend, Kaitlynn Hessler of Mitchel, Nebraska; sister, Kendra Scott and husband Mike Harlan; nieces, Hailey Chafin, and McKylie Harlan, all of Cheyenne, Wyoming; grandfather, Ron Scott of McCook, Nebraska; and grandmother, Janet Lawver of Bloomington, Nebraska

Dillon Anthony Conroy (1997-2024)

Leland D. Maris, 84, went into the arms of the Lord Jesus June 24, 2024, at Kearney Regional Hospital. Leland was born on April 30, 1940, to Frank and Florence (Adamson) Maris on the Maris farm in Hitchcock County.

Leland lived his entire life on the Maris homestead, he attended grade school at Eden school district 54. He attended high school in Wauneta, at the end of his sophomore year he decided to leave high school and begin working at several different places including Larson’s Ford Garage and at Harchelroad Motors where he set up machinery. He also custom fertilized for quite a few different farmers. He also worked at JD Farm equipment in McCook.

On March 12, 1961, Leland married his sweetheart Sharon (Kerchal) at the Congregational Church in Hayes Center. Leland and Sharon were blessed with 3 beautiful children: Julie, Sheila, and Michael.

Julie married Dan Ashline and they blessed him with 3 grandchildren Nick, Ethan, and Eliese (fiancé Charlie Hall). Sheila married Skip Dargis blessing him with 2 grandsons Scott(wife Brooke) and Eric Dargis. Michael married Kim (Brown) blessing him with 2 granddaughters Brittnae and Breann (married Mike Patterson). Leland was given the great joy of great grandkids Alexys Jo and Logan Ryder Patterson, and Olive and Haddon Hall, they brought him so much entertainment and laughs, he loved to get lots of hugs and snuggles.

Leland loved being a dad, grandpa, and great grandpa. But most of all he loved being a husband to his wife of 63 years Sharon. They lived a marvelous life together on the farm, Sharon always helped with harvest and anything else Leland needed. They made the perfect team!

His faith was such a large part of his life - he was always at church, attending Eden Missionary Church, Hamlet Union Church and lastly at the Christian Union Church in Stratton. Leland loved the gift God gave him as a farmer. Every year after he planted a crop he would stand back and pray over his fields; he would say, “it’s in your hand now Lord”. He was still in his tractor working the ground as of last week, he loved his life, the farm, and his coffee buddies which he saw almost everyday at the local coffee hangout.

Leland is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Florence Maris, his brothers Dale and Marvin Maris, his sister Ilo (Maris) Mosiman. His grandson Ethan Leland Ashline, and his nephews Leon and Devon Maris.

Funeral services will be Saturday June 29, 2024, at the Christian Union Church, 501 Bailey Street, Stratton, NE officiated by Pastor Larry Unruh, at 10:00am (CT) with a graveside to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Wauneta, NE.

Leland Maris (1940-2024)

Kathryn Anne Callihan, 89, of Paxton, Nebraska, passed peacefully from this life on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. Kathryn was born January 31, 1935, in Lincoln County, Nebraska to parents Bernard Joseph and Anne Marie (Valish) Guynan. Kathryn received her high school diploma in the 1952 graduating class of St. Patrick's Academy in Sidney, NE.

In October of 1953, she was wed to her husband, Lowell Gene Holz in Paxton, NE. Kathryn and Lowell had five children, which brought her a very active lifestyle. She was always on the go with school programs, after-school activities, sports and more.

Kathryn was very active in the St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Paxton, NE, and a member of their Altar Society for decades. In 2023, she received her 50-year membership pin from the Paxton American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, playing bridge and enjoying coffee (or a cold beer) while visiting with her many friends. Time with her family, whom she was so proud of, was one of Kathryn's greatest joys in life.

She will be remembered for her sense of humor, mischievous personality, sense of style and hard work ethic. Along with raising her five children, she held several jobs, including housekeeping for multiple homes, reading electric meters, calling Keno, driving a school bus route and was a salesclerk at Ogallala's JCPenney and Sears stores. Kathryn also worked for the Keith County Election Board for over 50 years.

In 1997, Lowell proceeded Kathryn in death. She was later remarried to Bob Callihan in 2000, who also passed away in 2023. Others to proceed her in death are her two sisters, Mary Alice Grow and Veronica Derry, and two grandsons, James Taylor Holz and Joseph Edward Holz.

Kathryn is survived by her five children and their families: daughter Connie (Gary) Frosh of Paxton, NE and her children, grandson Shane (Kacey Moreland) Berry of Omaha, N, granddaughter Katy (Vince) Hoover of Ogallala, NE and her children, great-granddaughter Aubri and her son, great-great-grandson Landon, and great-grandson Austin; granddaughter Christi (Andy) Koontz of Wichita, KS and their children, great-grandson Adler and great-granddaughter Averi; son Bernard (Pam Belus) Holz of Banner, WY and his children, granddaughter Morgan (Jeremy Butterfield-Bradford) Holz of Cheyenne, WY and their son, great-grandson Jaxon, and grandson Gus Holz of Seattle, WA; son Jim (Deb) Holz of Paxton, NE and their children, granddaughter Madison (Dave) Diener of Paxton, NE and their children, great- granddaughter Iris and great-grandson Maks, granddaughter Carli (Jackson) Eds of Overland Park, KS and granddaughter Emma Holz of Paxton, NE; daughter Jan (Court) Goodman of Omaha, NE and her children, granddaughter Alexis (Kayle) Davis, granddaughter Paige (Todd) Davis and grandson Adam (Georgia) Davis of Lincoln, NE; son Scott (Laney Veteto) Holz of Bartlesville, OK and his children, granddaughter Sarah Reece of Tulsa, OK and her children, great-grandson Sebastian and great- granddaughter Penelope, and granddaughter Savannah (Hagan Tome) Holz of Tulsa, OK. Marlea (Reeves) Post, 80, of North Platte, Nebraska went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 24, 2024 at Linden Court. &nbsp;Marlea was born on September 19, 1943 the daughter of Carroll and Alberta (Sherman) McNeel.

She was raised on a ranch north of North Platte and attended Rosedale country school and North Platte high school. &nbsp;She married Merle Reeves on February 26, 1960 and together they had three sons. &nbsp;Marlea was a loving mother, grandmother, and accomplished seamstress and quilter. She worked at Jared’s Bridal, Herberger's, and Hirschfeld's for many years. &nbsp;She was a member of Bethel Evangelical Free Church in North Platte. &nbsp;She was married to Vance Post on June 12, 1996. &nbsp;She loved her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. &nbsp; &nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Don Borron, and stepson Eric Post.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Vance Post; former husband, Merle Reeves of North Platte; sons, Kent (Linda) Reeves of Hayesville, NC, Steve Reeves of North Platte, and William “Bill” Reeves of North Platte; grandsons, Kevin (Sarah) Reeves, Kody Reeves, Quinten (Shayna) Reeves, Kameron Reeves, and Zeb Burke; brother, Richard (Carol) McNeel of Chapel Hill, NC; sister, Janene (Ken) Huffman of Dallas, GA; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. &nbsp;Also surviving are stepson, Greg (Nicole) Post; stepdaughter, Lucinda Olszewski; and several step-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Marlea (Reeves) Post (1943-2024)

Marybeth Roschewski, age 66, of McCook, NE passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024, in the comfort of her home in McCook.

Marybeth was born January 3, 1958, in McCook, NE to parents Robert and Muriel (Joy) Eisenach. She was the oldest of three siblings. Marybeth grew up on the family farm near Culbertson, NE and attended school in McCook, where she participated in orchestra. She graduated from McCook High School with the Class of 1976.

&nbsp;On July 26, 1980, Marybeth married John C. Roschewski in Culbertson. The couple made their home on the Eisenach family farm outside of Culbertson. Marybeth was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she participated in bell choir and played the piano.

Marybeth spent much of her time serving others, in her community, her church, and her home. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy; she strived to be involved in their lives, activities, and parties, even as she battled cancer. She enjoyed music and played both the violin and the piano.&nbsp;

Preceding Marybeth in death were her parents and her husband, John C. Roschewski.

Survivors include her son, John H. (J.J.) Roschewski (Janae Baker) and children Roovini, Nicklin and Piper of Gibbon, NE; daughter, Hannah (Tim) Blomstedt and children Carl and Eleanor of Bloomfield, NE; and brothers, Tom (Patty) Eisenach of McCook, NE and Allen Eisenach of Lincoln, NE.&nbsp;

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at the McCook Christian Church, McCook, with Terry McCorkle officiating.&nbsp;

Inurnment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, McCook.

Marybeth Roschewski (1958-2024)

Beryl Irene Knotwell, 99, of Lexington, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Ridgeway Senior Living in Lexington, Nebraska.

She was born on July 19, 1924, in McCook, Nebraska to Frank and Mabel (Cart) Hamilton. She attended McCook public schools and graduated from McCook Senior High School with the class of 1942. She transitioned to McCook Community College where she met the love of her life, Otis "Knotty" Knotwell. The two were united in marriage on August 25, 1946, at the First Baptist Church in McCook, Nebraska. Six children were blessed to this union: Carol, Barb, Colleen, JoAnn, Patti, and James.

After Beryl's first year of college, she did clerical work in the flight surgeon's office at the Air Base hospital in McCook as well as helping at the McCook Handi Kitchen. Once the family moved to Wauneta, Nebraska, Beryl began working for Federal Land Bank then transitioned to the meat department at Walgren's before committing 17 years to being the Wauneta Village Clerk until retirement. When she had time to spare, she enjoyed quilting with her quilt guild.&nbsp;

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Carol (Steve) Thompson of Wauneta, Barb (Gordan) Hinrichs of Lexington, Colleen Goings of Elsie, Patti (Lonnie) Kitt of Schuyler, and James Knotwell of Wauneta; grandchildren, Tony (Jolene) Muths, Justin Teply, Jeremy Teply, Jeff (Susan) Hinrichs, Jessica (Ryan) Linscott, Bradley (Kathryn) Goings, Billy Goings, Casey (John) Bailey, Carrie (Bryan) Kearney, Griffin Knotwell, Hollis Knotwell, Kellen Knotwell, Max Knotwell, and Richelle (Dan) Lindner; as well as 20 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Besides her parents, Beryl was preceded in death by her husband, Otis "Knotty" Knotwell; daughter, JoAnn Thorman; sons in law, Dennis Goings and Dwayne Muths; siblings, Kenneth Hamilton, Lenora (Cliff) Cobb and Dean (Irene) Hamilton.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on July 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Wauneta Methodist Church in Wauneta, Nebraska.&nbsp;

Beryl Irene Knotwell (1924-2024)

&nbsp; &nbsp; Alva Lee Van Vleet was born on August 17, 1943 in Danbury, Nebraska to Denzel and Bernice (Lockhart) Van Vleet. &nbsp;Alva graduated from high school and joined the United States Navy. &nbsp;His Naval career would allow him to further his education, receiving his bachelor’s degree in signals. &nbsp;Alva served proudly for 28 years, seeing most of the country and Vietnam. He retired in Virginia at the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.

&nbsp; Alva eventually made his way back to southwest Nebraska where he put down roots in Trenton. &nbsp;Alva worked for Southwest Fertilizer and did custom harvesting. &nbsp;He was a member of American Legion Post #337 in Trenton. &nbsp;He enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles. &nbsp;Alva was happiest when sampling hops or a good, fermented beverage. &nbsp;He spent time watching and attending rodeos and enjoyed western movies on the television. &nbsp;

&nbsp;Alva passed away June 20, 2024 at the Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney, Nebraska. &nbsp;He was 80 years of age.

&nbsp; &nbsp; He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Merald Van Vleet; and a special friend, Dessie Lewis.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Survivors include his sons, Michael Lee (Michelle) Van Vleet of Fountain, Colorado and Kevin Dean Van Vleet of Chesapeake, Virginia; Pat (Ronda) Lewis and Roger (Lisa) Lewis both of Trenton; grandchildren: Stephanie Mia Van Vleet, Christopher Ryan Van Vleet, Josh Lewis, Tommy Lewis, Rebekah Gillispie, Lindsey Kluthe, Lacey Alig, Lexey Humphrey, and Laramey Becker; 22 great-grandchildren; and sister Karen Van Vleet of Wichita, Kansas.

Alva Lee Van Vleet (1943-2024)

JAMES COGHILL, 81, of Ogallala, NE, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.

Jim was born November 4, 1942, to Wilson Kesler and Pauline (Beaty) Coghill in McCook, NE. As a small child, his parents farmed near Marion, NE. He graduated from Beaver Valley High School in Lebanon, NE, in 1960, McCook College in 1962, and Fort Hayes State College in Hayes, KS, in 1965.

Jim married Erlene Cline at Parks Methodist Church on July 11, 1965. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1968 at Camp Pendleton, CA, and Camp Lejeune, NC, in the military police department.

Jim and Erlene had two boys, Bradley James Coghill and Curt Coghill. He managed stores for F.W. Woolworths in Grand Island, North Platte, Bellevue, South Omaha, and Cheyenne, WY. Then, he managed TG&amp;Y Stores Co in Wichita, KS, and Papillion before the couple bought their own NAPA Auto Parts store in 1980 in Ogallala and built and managed West Side Storage in 1996 until their retirement in 2003. After retirement, Jim worked part-time for Farmer's Mutual Insurance as a crop adjuster. He had a special interest in antique cars, attending car shows, and traveling by motor home. In 2012, the couple purchased a home in Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Jim was preceded by his parents and a sister, Barbara.

Jim is survived by his wife, Erlene, of Ogallala; sons, Bradley (Jenny) Coghill of Whittier, CA, and Curt (Meggan) Coghill of Bennington; granddaughter, Hannah; and sister-in-law, Merril Jane (Marvin) McMichael of Lincoln.

James Coghill (1942-2024)

Norma Jean (Kramer) Cochran, 97, was born July 11, 1926, in Holyoke, CO, to Anna and Robert Kramer. She was the youngest of 13 children, ten boys, followed by three daughters. Jean departed this life on June 23, 2024, in Akron, CO, just shy of her 98th birthday. She was surrounded by her three loving daughters.

In 1943, Jean graduated from Holyoke High School at the age of 16. On June 2, 1943, in Ogden, Utah, Jean was united in marriage to Pat Rothenberger before he was shipped out to serve in WWII in the Army Air Force. The couple moved to Whittier, CA, when Pat returned from the war. In 1953, they moved to Grant, NE, purchased the Ford dealership, and started a crop spraying business. A son and three daughters were born to this union. Pat preceded Jean in death when he was killed in an airplane accident in 1961.

Jean worked as a teacher, bookkeeper, secretary, insurance agent, and realtor. She was involved in numerous church and community organizations.

In 1968, she had a brief marriage to Floyd Pankonin. Then, in 1980, she married Ron Cochran and lived in Grant until moving to North Platte, Nebraska, in 2013.

Following an accident at home in late 2015, she resided at the Washington County Nursing Home in Akron, CO, until the time of her death. She loved singing and frequently entertained the residents and staff with her songs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 12 siblings, her husbands Pat and Ron, and son Larry.

Jean is survived by her daughters: Wanda Thompson (James) of Akron, CO; Vicki Pankonin (David) of Cottonwood, CA; and Beverly Gottula (Bill) of North Platte, NE. She was also blessed with seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

She will be forever remembered for her courage, strength, selflessness, and humor. Jean gave much love and was greatly loved in return.

Norma Jean Cochran (1926-2024)

Donna Marie Lehman, 82, of Maxwell, Nebraska passed away June 5, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Maxwell. She was born April 12, 1942 to Nels and Julia (Smalis) Undem, in Terry, Montana.

Donna grew up in Terry, participating heavily in youth 4-H programs and taking home several blue ribbons for her canning and sewing projects and showing her family’s lambs. Donna then graduated high school in 1960. She attended Montana State University in Bozeman. There, she received her teaching certificate and taught elementary students at local country schools. She met Gene Lehman and they were married May 15, 1965 in Ekalaka, MT at Gene’s parents ranch, George and Alice Lehman. Three children were born to this union: Nelseena, Jess, and Laurie.

Donna had a love for cooking and shared that with the school, ranch, brandings, and 4H camps. She’ll always be remembered as an excellent cook and seamstress. Donna made all of Gene’s shirts, which he was immensely proud of, due to each of his shirts being a one of a kind. After Gene’s passing, she went back to college in Riverton, Wyoming graduating from Chadron State College. After graduating with her Bachelor’s degree she taught at the Carver country school and the American Horse School on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Donna moved to Nebraska in 2006 teaching at Hall School in North Platte and then substituting for many years. After choosing to retire, embroidering blocks and hand quilting each one into special baby blankets for her grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and members of her community was how she chose to leave her family and other loved ones with a piece of her heart. Growing and canning vegetables from her own garden, and presenting stunning flowers she lovingly nurtured were her favorite gifts to share.

Survivors include her children, Nelseena (Kurt) Lehmann, Kildare, Oklahoma, Jess Lehman, Capital, South Dakota, Laurie (Matthew) Hatch, Maxwell, Nebraska; grandchildren Hunter Lehmann, Oakley Lehmann, Kildare Oklahoma, Karnee Hatch, Dallas, Texas, Falon Hatch, Michell, Nebraska; great-granddaughter, Aspen Arnett, Kildare Oklahoma; sister, Connie (David) Bosman, Tucson, Arizona; along with numerous other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gene; sister, Diane O’Neill.&nbsp;

A memorial has been established in her name.

Cremation was chosen. Services for Donna will be held in Ekalaka at a later date.

Donna Marie Lehman (1942-2024)

Lois May Joan Baker, 93, of North Platte, NE passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Great Plains Health Hospital. &nbsp;Lois was born on May 28, 1931 in Cedar Butte, South Dakota, the daughter of Theodore and Iva (Frazier) Hougham.

Lois was a hard worker throughout her life. &nbsp;She worked as a waitress and hostess at the Elks Club in North Platte, and later cleaned and painted houses in the local area. &nbsp;For a short time, she owned and operated the South Side Liquor Store. &nbsp;Lois was a very good cook, baker, and seamstress. &nbsp;She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.&nbsp;

She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her first three husbands, Marlyn Wilcox, Robert Masters, and Robert Britton. &nbsp;She was also predeceased by sons, Shephen and Charles Wilcox; daughter, Michelle Masters; infants, Wonda and Terry, and 2 infants at birth; brother, Everett Hougham; and sisters, Elizabeth “Betty” Morrissey, and Marie Beckley.

Left to cherish her memory are her 4th husband, Charles A. Baker of North Platte; children, Ronda Schultz of Cheyenne, WY, Stanton (Brenda) Wilcox of Brunswick, OH, Marlyn (Ellen) Wilcox of Alliance, NE, Danny (UnChu) Wilcox of Lakewood, WA, Teresa Silcox and Mary Masters both of NE; 27 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; and 37 great-great grandchildren.

Lois May Joan Baker (1931-2024)

Longtime North Platte resident, Carol Douglas passed away June 21, 2024, while staying at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg. She was 86 years old.

Carol, the daughter of Carl and Ruth Peck, was born July 22, 1937, in North Platte where she grew up and attended school.

On June 15, 1957, Carol married Dale Douglas in North Platte. &nbsp;She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom to their 4 kids. &nbsp;Carol and Dale were together for over 65 years when he passed away in 2022.

Carol loved being a wife, mother and grandma. &nbsp;She also loved her flowers, crocheting and playing games with her grandkids, especially the game Trouble.

Along with her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bill, Frank (Erla) and Don (Donna) Peck; and infant great-grandson, Wyatt Paulsen.

She is survived by her children, Wayne Douglas (Kim) and Ruth Stearns (Gary) of North Platte and Judy Welch (Will) and Karen Matthews (Bo) of Paxton; her sister-in-law, Vina Peck of North Platte; as well as 11 grandkids, 16 great-grandkids and other family.

Carol Douglas (1937-2024)

Herbert William Ringenberg, 94, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away at his home on June 20, 2024.&nbsp;

He was born during a snowstorm on the family farm south of Eustis, Nebraska on May 14, 1930, to William and Olga (Werth) Ringenberg. He was the younger brother of Willard and Aurella. He attended grade school at the Salem Lutheran School, south of Eustis, as well as the Trinity Lutheran Church school, and graduated from Lexington Senior High School with the class of 1948, where he excelled in football, basketball, and track. He was drafted to the military during the Korean War from 1953 to 1954.

Herbert met Evelyn Brakhage, a teacher in Lexington, and the two were united in marriage on June 29, 1952, in Lincoln, Nebraska. Four children were born to this union: Jean, Jan, Suzanne, and Joel. Herbert and Evelyn shared 71 years of marriage. Herbert farmed and ranched in Dawson and Custer County his entire life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Ringenberg of Lexington; children, Jean (Doug) Speer of Windsor, Colorado, Jan (Stephen) Anderson of Lexington, Suzy (Neil) Jorgenson of Callaway, and Joel (Stephanie) Ringenberg of Lexington; sister-in-law, Dorothy Jean Buel of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; as well as extended family.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Willard and wife, Emma Ringenberg; sister, Aurella and husband, Gilbert Heine; sister-in-law, Donna and husband, Louie Rudman; brother-in-law, James Buel, and many good friends and neighbors.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Rob Kuefner, officiating. The service will be live streamed via the Trinity Lutheran Website: tlclex.org.

Herbert William Ringenberg (1930-2024)

Beverly Ann Rathe, age 86, of Culbertson, NE passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 in McCook, NE.&nbsp;

Beverly was born February 16, 1938 in Beverly, NE to parents Jake and E. Vaughneta (Follet) Schlager. She was one of four children who graduated from Culbertson High School with the Class of 1955.&nbsp;

On October 6, 1957, Beverly married the love of her life, Arlan Earl Rathe, in Culbertson. To this union five children were born.&nbsp;

Beverly enjoyed drawing and artwork; she was a talented seamstress. Beverly was very outgoing and loved social gatherings, especially square dancing and playing cards with friends and family. Her favorite game to play was pinochle. Beverly was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and on the Ladies Aide Committee. She also cleaned the church for many years.&nbsp;

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one brother, Richard Schlager.

Those left to celebrate her life include her children, Robin Haynes of McCook, NE, Ryan (Deb) Rathe of Palisade, NE, Rhonda (Tracey) Refior of McCook, NE, Rachelle Steinhour of Minden, NE and Randal (Erin) Rathe of Ainsworth, NE; fifteen grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra (Dewayne) Hanes of McCook, NE and Penny (Ed) Schneider of Brighton, CO; sister in law, Judy Schlager of McCook, NE; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family members and friends.&nbsp;

Beverly Ann Rathe (1938-2024)

Terry L. (Young) Erion passed away June 20, 2024, at Meadowlark Pointe in Cozad.

Terry was born June 22, 1943, in Smith Center, KS to Loren and Pauline (Warner) Young. Loren was in the service in Kansas and was granted a leave so he could visit his little baby girl. Then he was sent to the Philippines and didn’t return for two and a half years.

Ron and Terry were united in marriage June 12, 1965, and celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary last week. They raised two daughters: Heidi (Marco) Revelo of Cozad and Lara (Everton) Erion-Bennett of Ocala, FL. Adding to the family tree are three grandchildren: Beth Revelo, Ashley Revelo, Larenzo Erion plus two great-grandchildren Elias Erion and Silas Erion.

Terry graduated from Holdrege High School in 1961 before earning two degrees from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. In 1965 she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and in 1970 a Master’s Degree in Early Education endorsement in reading which began a lifelong love of teaching.

She started her life-long teaching career in Grand Island, NE as a substitute for a teacher on maternity leave and when the teacher stayed home, they asked Terry to finish the year. She taught Title at Laurel-Concord Public Schools, but is best known for her 25 years of education at the Eustis-Farnam Public Schools where she taught third grade for 22 years and kindergarten for two years. Upon retirement she opened a preschool in Cozad in her home that helped prepare children for kindergarten and set them up for academic success.

Ron and Terry enjoyed marking memories with family, building their house, dancing, travelling, and enjoying each other’s company.

Terry’s faith in Jesus Christ shone in her daily walk and acts of kindness. Not one to demand praise, she was often in the background teaching Sunday School, attending Bible studies and going to church. She was part of a Prayer Group that prayed for each high school student by name during the academic year, and they did this several years. Rest assured she’s been escorted to heaven on the wings of angels.

Terry L. Erion (1943-2024)

Phyllis&nbsp;Phagan&nbsp;passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 8, 2023, at the age of 98.

Phyllis, the daughter of Gilbert and Elizabeth (Hrdlicka) Wagner, was born November 4, 1925, at Fremont, NE. &nbsp;When she was 3 years old the family moved to Howells, NE. &nbsp;In 1937 the family again moved to Morrill, NE, where she graduated from Morrill High School in 1943. &nbsp;After graduation Phyllis spent a year in Denver attending Barnes Business School.

Phyllis moved back to Morrill and worked for Brown Bean Co. &nbsp;At that same time her special Marine friend, Carroll Phagan, came home on furlough after spending 18 months in the South Pacific. &nbsp;Within a short month of his arrival, they were married on July 18, 1944. &nbsp;Phyllis always said, "I knew Carroll for several years but never had a date with him." &nbsp;They dated through 63 years of marriage before he passed.

In 1961, Carroll and Phyllis moved to North Platte because of his job. &nbsp;Phyllis worked for the Holiday Inn from opening day on June 15th until July 1994. &nbsp;She retired and volunteered for R.S.V.P. &nbsp;She loved playing cards and spent many hours piecing and hand quilting quilts for her children and grandchildren.

Phyllis and Carroll were members of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and belonged to the Lake Maloney Golf Course Association. &nbsp;They were active in the transition of sand greens to grass greens on the front nine.

Along with her beloved husband, Carroll, Phyllis was preceded in death by their infant son, Phillip; her parents, Gilbert and Elizabeth Wagner; parents-in-law, Carl and Grace Phagan; sisters, Eileen Beck and Donna Brazda; and son-in-law, Don Scott.

She is survived by her sons, Dale (Paula) Phagan of Corrales, NM, and Matt (Linda) Phagan of North Platte; daughters, Sally Scott of Camano Island, WA, and Julie (Ed) Peldo of Ft. Smith, AR; grandchildren: Kirsten (Tony), Mindy, Marisa (Sam), Samie, Jessica (Clarence) and Eric (Julie); great-grandchildren: Alexis, Braylon, Blake, William, Grace, Peightan and Sherry; brother-in-law, Bob (Ellen) Phagan; and other family.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 9.

 </figure>Phyllis&nbsp;Phagan&nbsp;passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 8, 2023, at the age of 98.Phyllis, the daughter of Gilbert and Elizabeth (Hrdlicka) Wagner, was born November 4, 1925, at Fremont, NE. &nbsp;When she was 3 years old the family moved to Howells, NE. &nbsp;In 1937 the family again moved to Morrill, NE, where she graduated from Morrill High School in 1943. &nbsp;After graduation Phyllis spent a year in Denver attending Barnes Business School.Phyllis moved back to Morrill and worked for Brown Bean Co. &nbsp;At that same time her special Marine friend, Carroll Phagan, came home on furlough after spending 18 months in the South Pacific. &nbsp;Within a short month of his arrival, they were married on July 18, 1944. &nbsp;Phyllis always said, "I knew Carroll for several years but never had a date with him." &nbsp;They dated through 63 years of marriage before he passed.In 1961, Carroll and Phyllis moved to North Platte because of his job. &nbsp;Phyllis worked for the Holiday Inn from opening day on June 15th until July 1994. &nbsp;She retired and volunteered for R.S.V.P. &nbsp;She loved playing cards and spent many hours piecing and hand quilting quilts for her children and grandchildren.Phyllis and Carroll were members of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and belonged to the Lake Maloney Golf Course Association. &nbsp;They were active in the transition of sand greens to grass greens on the front nine.Along with her beloved husband, Carroll, Phyllis was preceded in death by their infant son, Phillip; her parents, Gilbert and Elizabeth Wagner; parents-in-law, Carl and Grace Phagan; sisters, Eileen Beck and Donna Brazda; and son-in-law, Don Scott.She is survived by her sons, Dale (Paula) Phagan of Corrales, NM, and Matt (Linda) Phagan of North Platte; daughters, Sally Scott of Camano Island, WA, and Julie (Ed) Peldo of Ft. Smith, AR; grandchildren: Kirsten (Tony), Mindy, Marisa (Sam), Samie, Jessica (Clarence) and Eric (Julie); great-grandchildren: Alexis, Braylon, Blake, William, Grace, Peightan and Sherry; brother-in-law, Bob (Ellen) Phagan; and other family.Services will be held on Tuesday, July 9. 

Rosary service begins at 9 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Celebrant Father Sagar. &nbsp; &nbsp; Joyce Bernice (Williams) Stupka passed away Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Western Prairie Care Home in Ulysses, Kansas. &nbsp;At the age of 92. She was born November 21, 1931 to Forest F. Williams and Martha Schilke Boyd Williams. She was born on the Family farm just east of Trenton, Nebraska.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Joyce was the youngest of a blended family with eight half-siblings and one brother.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Joyce married William Stupka in 1953 and from this union, two children were born, Cynthia (Stupka)Burton and Roger Stupka.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Joyce spent most of her adult life living in McCook Nebraska, where she worked for the soil conservation service for 38 years.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Joyce volunteered at McCook Humane Society for many, many years and was a cat lover .

&nbsp; &nbsp; Joyce enjoyed reading, playing her organ, and following the lives of her three grandchildren and their families; Will and Skyler, Charlotte, William and Harry Burton; Dustin and Kelsy, Aidy Burton; Callie (Burton)and Ryan , Daisy Fletcher.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Joyce was a fifth generation Lutheran and considered it her legacy to share her faith in God with her family.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Joyce is proceeded in death by her parents; eight half-siblings: Thurman “Slim” Boyd, Thelma “Tommy” Boyd, Nathan Boyd, Robert “Bobby” Boyd, Wayne “Hoot” Williams, Harold “Skinny” Williams, Lois Williams, Mildred Williams Magorian (Sis), her brother, Curtis Williams; as well as many dear friends.

&nbsp; &nbsp; Joyce is survived by her son, Roger Stupka of McCook and her daughter, Cynthia (Stupka) Burton and son-in-law, Ray Burton of Ulysses, Kansas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00PM on Monday afternoon, June 24, 2024 at Peace Lutheran Church in McCook with Pastor Brad Rick officiating. &nbsp;Burial in Memorial Park Cemetery of McCook will follow services. &nbsp;No formal visitation is scheduled; viewing will take place at the church prior to services.

Joyce Stupka (1931-2024)

Donnabeth Ferebee Ferrel was born June 25, 1924, to Ora and Ivy Ferebee in Nelson, Nebraska of Nuckolls County. As a young girl her family moved to a dry land farm located on the south divide of Champion Valley. She attended grades 1-8 at Champion then graduated high school in Imperial, NE in 1941.

While working as a waitress at the Sale Barn Café, she became acquainted with a handsome young cowboy by the name of Lowell Ferrel.

Lowell and Donnabeth were married on New Year’s Day 1941 at 0:01 o’clock and made their first home on the farm 4 1/2 miles south of Highway 6, south of Lamar, Nebraska. While living here and ranching with his dad, Lowell was called to serve his country in World War II.

Born in 1942 was daughter Vicky Lynn. Later, brothers Ora and JayDee joined the family.

In 1960, Lowell and Donnabeth moved from the farm/ranch, into the city of Imperial. Here was where Lowell built a horse training facility known as Ferrel’s Western Training. Shortly thereafter Donnabeth opened a western clothing store, known as “Ferrel’s Western T’s” (Training, Togs &amp; Turquoise)

Donnabeth’s favorite hobbies were animals, quilting, and traveling. Donnabeth could be referred to as a “Happy World Traveler!” She enjoyed traveling with Lowell, showing and judging horse shows. Traveling throughout the United States, she and Lowell were members of Rotary International and represented the City of Imperial as well as Chase County wherever they went.

Donnabeth along with daughter Vicky Lynn got the opportunity to travel to the Holy Land with the Methodist Church family, which was a very rewarding experience.

Survivors include: daughter Vicky Lynn (Jim) Brown of Lamar, NE, son Lowell Ora (Jenny) Ferrel or Sterling CO; grandchildren Troy Brown (friend) Rosa of Ogallala, NE, Toby Brown (Dannielle) of St. Joseph, MO their sons Atticus and Sullivan; Thomas Ferrel (Carol) children Gillian and Sean of Shawnee, KS; great grand-daughter Audry (Josiah) Gilliland and daughters Wren, Joliene, and Margot Jayne of Pleasant Hill, MO.

She is preceded in death by husband Lowell, her parents, brothers Don, Frank, and Bud, her son Jay Dee and great grandson Connor James Brown.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 21 2024, from 4:00-6:00PM at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial, NE. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024, at 10:30AM at the Imperial Methodist Church with Reverend Brian Loy officiating, interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.

Memorial contributions made to Imperial Senor Center, the Imperial Manor, or Imperial Methodist Church Bell Choir.

Lisa Marie Brouillette, 45, of North Platte, NE passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at her home. &nbsp;She was born on August 23, 1978 in North Platte the daughter of Michael “Mike” and Jacqueline “Jackie” (Shannon) Brouillette. &nbsp;

Lisa graduated from North Platte high school in 1998. &nbsp;She worked for several years as a cashier in food service at various places in the North Platte area. &nbsp;Lisa never knew a stranger and was kind and friendly to everyone. &nbsp;She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her mom and dad, Mike and Jackie Brouillette; her fiancée and his children, Glenn Johnson, Honey and Jen; brother, Guy Brouillette of North Platte; sisters, Heather (Preston) Parrett of Maxwell, and Shelly Brouillette of North Platte; nieces, Shady and KiJana Brouillette, and Rylee Ray Parrett; great niece, DayLynn; great nephew, Ronen; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. &nbsp;She is also remembered by her beloved cats “Kookie” and “Skittles”.

Robert William Lorentzen, 62, of North Platte, NE passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln. &nbsp;He was born on November 11, 1961 in Omaha, NE the son of Robert Stewart and Gloria (Kallhoff) Lorentzen.

 </figure>Robert William Lorentzen, 62, of North Platte, NE passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital in Lincoln. &nbsp;He was born on November 11, 1961 in Omaha, NE the son of Robert Stewart and Gloria (Kallhoff) Lorentzen.Robert graduated from North Platte High School class of 1980, and then attended Wyoming Technical Institute in WY for a year. &nbsp;He then graduated from the Colorado Institute of Technology in Denver with a degree in computer science. &nbsp;He worked for Data Tix and then Ticket Master as a computer specialist. &nbsp;After moving back to North Platte, he attended Mid-Plains Community College graduating with an associate of science electrician degree. &nbsp;He then went on to work for the Union Pacific Railroad as an electrician. &nbsp;Rob loved playing pool and was an active member of the Eagles Club where he played in several pool leagues. &nbsp;He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR. &nbsp;Rob was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in North Platte. &nbsp;He always enjoyed family get togethers on the 4th of July and his beloved cat “Tiny”.Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Gloria Lorentzen of North Platte; sisters, Lynn (Jeff) McCammon of North Platte, and Bev (Lonnie) Cerny of Lincoln; brother, Randy (Kathy) Kaster of Omaha; nieces and nephews, Dan (Connie) Baker, Kristy (Nick) Bryant, Danielle (Matt) Cook, Courtney (Alex) Kaster, Miranda (Nicholas) Akins, Max Kaster, John Cerny; great nieces and great nephews, Dylan, Gracelynn, Taylor, Gavin, Gia, Parker, Brooks, Vienna, and Violet.&nbsp;He was predeceased by his father, and niece, Tara Rogers.Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Pastor Anne Durboraw officiating. &nbsp;The memorial book will be available to sign from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service on Thursday. &nbsp;Inurnment will be at a later date in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. &nbsp;Carpenter Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
